And then after Thunder Bringer he's all like "Well that was a lil' extreme. They did kill one o' my cattle though, so good riddance to bad rubbish."

IVE GOT PART FOUR OF THE RESISTANCE AUU :D

to be fair i dont actually like this chapter as much as the others but its still good so enjoy i guess

The gods start getting nervous when new people begin to turn up on Olympus.

At first it is just Calypso, brought up by Hermes at the command of Zeus. The Titaness glances around the palace with wide-eyed wonder, and curtseys before the king of the gods.

Hermes doesn't miss the utter hatred and anger in her eyes whenever she catches sight of him. He flashes her a sharp grin each time, and something of a rivalry springs up. Calypso makes it everyone's problem.

Demeter is dragged back to Olympus next, Persephone in her wake. They know even less of what is going on than Posidon does.

Artemis grabs Persephone by the arm, leaning over and whispering to her dear friend, both of them dissolving into giggles before disappearing into Artemis' dark and wild corridors of the Olympian palace.

Demeter had sighed, and Hermes had seen her later, sat with Hera and Hestia at the eldest sister's hearth, a frown on her face and the poppies crowning her head turning an angry black rather than their usual bright red.

And suddenly Olympus feels crowded, with everyone up here. Hermes doesn't like it all that much, the judging gazes of everyone falling across him and each other.

Zeus, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Posidon, Persephone, Artemis, Apollo, Athena, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephestus, Iris, Dionysus, Calypso and so many more gods that Hermes can't be bothered to name just like that, none of them are important anyways.

Even Hades has come up from his underground lair to see what's going on, swiftly followed by the twins, Helios and Selene, both hungry for gossip. Hermes has even seen Aeolus drifting around, Aeolus! Famous for not caring about the matters of gods! And Eros! He is less happy about Eros, he hates the guy, but that's irrelivant right now.

All these people and Circe couldn't even come visit him! How unfair is that?

Anyways!

Hermes should have expected fighting to break out eventually. It's some small argument between Helios and Apollo, of course it's those two, that's not a surprise, but the other gods start taking sides, Hermes included, and suddenly everything has blown up properly, and then Zeus is yelling, his thunder crackling overhead, and the gods who were here during the Game are flinching away, ducking their heads.

"Stop this foolery!" Zeus roars, and his lightning strikes the open spot of ground between Apollo and Helios.

A murmur runs through the crowd then, a whisper, passed from ear to tongue to ear again, jumping over certain gods like Posidon and Calypso and Eros.

The whisper says something like this;

The war has begun. The resistance is rising. In the name of Athena, we will take Zeus and his thunderbolt down.

Aeolus is the first to leave, Iris following them swiftly out and away, carrying the news to whoever Hera has asked her too.

Persephone and Hades slink away to their kingdom quietly, Demeter letting her daughter go slightly early, she knows that whatever is happening is bigger than her pride, bigger than the seasons.

Ares, Aphrodite and Hephestus disappear together, as they were expected to, and a cry from Apollo the following morning shows that they have taken Athena with them, away from Zeus.

Zeus just gets angrier and angrier as the gods desert him. His throne is meaningless if there is nobody to bow before him. They all know that.

Demeter disappears next, and winter truly falls upon the mortal world. Hermes has a feeling that this winter will last much longer than usual.

Hera remains up on Olympus for a long while after the gods started disappearing, Iris sending her queen's messages to the resistance.

Artemis tries to drag Apollo away, but Zeus simply must insist (order, threaten) that he should stay up on the mountain to help Posidon. Posidon is mostly okay by this point. Artemis leaves without her brother, bow in hand, her nymphs running at her back.

Hestia sits at her fireplace, the heart of Olympus, and silently watches the events unfold, her wise eyes trailing over the gods as they pass her, their fast-paced steps and lives flitting by her slow and warm existence.

Apollo tries to persuade Hermes to leave with Dionysus. Hermes stubbornly refuses, his grin falling from his face as he argues with Apollo.

"At least get off this mountain for a little while!" Apollo had shouted, "Go visit, what's her name, Circe for a few months! Or Aeolus!"

Hermes knows that the gods have gathered on Aeolus' islands, Iris told him, "What if i don't want to?" He snaps, "What if i want to stay here?"

"You can't!"

"Why not? You can't just say that I can't!"

"Because- because-" Apollo had stumbled then, folding his arms across his chest, "You might get hurt if you stay!"

Hermes laughed, "And you won't? That little faith in me?"

"No! But father likes me more than you, he might-"

Hermes cut him off, "He might what? What, Apollo?" Apollo had flinched, Hermes never called him by his actual name, "Sure, father likes you more, but wasn't Athena his favorite child?"

"Yeah." Apollo turned his eyes away, "I just don't want you to get hurt, ok? If you stay here, promise you won't mess with father and uncle too much?"

"I promise." Hermes smiled. And then he turns away to direct Dionysus to Aeolus' islands.

He does follow, eventually. Two or three months after Hera disappeared, and the gods had seemed to settle down on their certain sides, when no more movement had happened for a while.

"Hello my dearest friends!"

Aeolus laughs at the loud voice of Hermes, and turns to see their best friend entering the large hall that all the gods had gathered in to decide what to do next.

"About time, Mockingjay, we were wondering when you were gonna turn up!" The wind god cackles.

"Well i have now arrived, Aeo', what's happening?" Hermes throws himself down in the empty chair next to where Aeolus is floating.

"Hermes!" Hera claps her hands to get silence in the room of chattering gods, "Hermes. How did you leave?" A very dangerous type of intelligence glitters in her eyes.

Hermes shrugs, "I just kinda. Flew away. Sunny knows i came to you guys, I didn't tell anyone else."

"So you could go back without it looking suspicious?" Hera grins.

"Work as a spy?" Hermes' smile grows wider, Aeolus watches as that sweet, funny demeanour he has drops away slightly.

"If you wish to put it like that, then yes. Work as a spy."

Apollo, as much as he loves Hermes, does not understand the other god sometimes. Merely two days before, Hermes had told him he was leaving to join the resistance (he still wouldn't tell Apollo where they were staying) and now he was back.

Hermes was back on Olympus. With a dark glimmer in his eyes and a sharp grin on his face.

Hermes is back on Olympus, and he smiles in Calypso's face and laughs when Posidon cracks jokes, and hangs onto every word Zeus says.

And occasionally he disappears every now and then, but that's only normal for the messenger god, right?

Right?

Because Apollo doesn't know what he would do if Hermes was doing the most dangerous thing he probably could right now and gathering information for Hera and the others.

He might kill whoever put the idea in Hermes' mind.

Sooooooo. Stuff is happening :D

The next chapter is about Ares if my memory is correct which should be fun!! And Ive finished doing exams for a while so i should be able to write and draw more too yaay, on than note the chapters also might have more time between when i post them because its kinda messy ive only got certain scenes written and not inbetween bits sooo
