4 MINUTES – HUNGRY GHOSTS?
OK this is me going out on a limb again...
I'm certain at least some of the characters in 4 Minutes are from the spirit realm. And as the broadcast schedule of 4 Minutes overlaps the seventh lunar month, in which the Thai-Chinese Ghost Festival wan saat jeen takes place, part of me is wondering if there is further significance...
The Ghost Festival is sometimes also called the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts. The belief is that during the seventh lunar month the gates of hell are thrown open, and the previously imprisoned spirits are allowed to wander freely in the world of the living. And as they've been sequestered away for the previous year, they are ravenous as they roam the land (so believers will lay out offerings at shrines and altars in a bid to satisfy their ghostly hunger).
There is a parallel in 4 Minutes, and I don't know if it's intentional (but I want to believe it is).
Part of me (a GREAT part of me, hah 🤣) is leaning into the theory that the white-clad characters in 4 Minutes are actually ghosts. They're back for a spell in the world of the living, and I think we're seeing them (Great especially, but also Korn) re-living episodes of their time on earth, reviewing what they could have done better (I think this probably will play into how long or severe their punishment in the Netherworld has to be, before they are allowed into the next cycle of rebirth/reincarnation perhaps).
And we see all of them morally doing the right thing, while clad in white – it's do-over after do-over. Great's four-minute rewinds allow him to remake his bad decisions (e.g., Manee's hit-and-run, and also saving the lives of Dome and Nan). Korn in his ghostly do-over is the kindly elder brother to Great, gentle with Nan and (somewhat) solicitous with his employees as he oversees the betting operations (whereas in Ep.6 he's curt and literally has blood on his hands). Win continues with the investigation after being ordered not to by the corrupt higher-ups, and he offers to protect Ton Kla in the process.
But the parallel with the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts is this: we are also seeing the white-clad characters display a certain neediness, hungering perhaps, for that which was (I think) denied to them before, in the versions of events that are presented as alternatives to the Ep.6 narrative (that the fandom, me included, appears to believe is the actual reality – although my caveat is that I think a small part of the episode may also be someone else's revisiting of the past as well).
We have Great being sought out and showered with affection from Tyme (whereas Tyme used and discarded him in Ep.6); Korn having Ton Kla always at his disposal, always adoring, while also being entrusted with leading the family business; and Win winning (sorry, couldn't help it 😂) Ton Kla's affections over Korn. I would even add Great's mom, who's risen to a position of respect and prestige as the elegant (and official, no longer common-law) wife of a business mogul.
If they are ghosts, what we're seeing in their do-overs is them satiating certain very primal hungers that seem to motivate their characters.
Hungry ghosts? I'm thinking the 4 Minutes broadcast dates are too much of a coincidence, and I wouldn't put it past Sammon to have worked this in...
But with only two episodes to go, we'll be getting the explanation soon enough! I'm betting on Den to be the key in divulging the answers to the mystery. He mentioned that he's going to help Lukwa (whose appearance in the series is replete with clues to her ghostly state of being) meet another patient/ghost with experience of the Four-Minute Rewind. That patient could be Great. But I'm thinking it could also be Korn (remembering that it was Korn who said – was it in Episode 1 or 2? – that he knew a physician who might be able to help Great with his own four-minute rewinds)...
And when that meet-up happens, we can be sure to expect a whole lot of relevation! 😍

hi! i recently subscribed to the pateron, and im a little intimidated by all of the extra content available, lol. in your opinion, what are some of the funniest short rest / dungeon court / mixed bag episodes to start with? (if anyone else also has their fave eps to share please do)
oh wonderful! welcome to the best stupid show(s) money can buy.
i’m gonna operate under the assumption you’re caught up on main feed eps but if i suggest a short rest for an episode you haven’t listened to, definitely hit the episode first.
these are just off the top of my head with ones i can remember what they are, i may come up with more later lol
short rests:
i think short rests 99 and 100 should actually be required listening for everyone, they’re fucking earth shattering. start there.
the one for 70 is stupid and reveals how they almost lost the episode so that’s a good one.
c3e22 has one of the most insane short rests in retrospect. and c3e41 also has a bonkers short rest. they talk about santa manscaping in your bathroom. the episode came out in august. i wept.
c2e41’s campaign wrap up short rest also is a good time and gives good insights on the campaign.
the short rest for the can they kill it is the origin of crabster. 77 has a rose before noon. 91 ends with jake saying something so insane it ruins me.
the short rest for caldwells frooze your own adventure also slaps. the wilson brothers are there.
the brussels hookup is another 8bbc short rest that’s so dumb and beautiful.
c3e54 has them all hyped up on too much caffeine after a mixed bag and talking about jumping off decks onto frozen lakes and landing on one boob and one butt cheek. i wish i was kidding. it’s incredible.
dungeon courts:
i’m mostly gonna highlight patreon dungeon courts with the assumption you’ve listened to the corresponding main feed eps.
king robert can klump ft. ally beardsley. the flintstones costume fun around the house. you don’t know what that means but it’s. something.
a little place called mangia’s. murph breaks down. caldwell loses it. jake turns to google.
yuncle ft. jasper william cartwright. rats ride loose and your yuncle is power hungry.
the video dungeon courts are great, you can see murph lose it.
bird jail ft. zac oyama. actually anything with zac oyama. it’s great.
table rattlers ft. jeremy cobb. i don’t remember what happens exactly but it’s great.
the dm’s judge ft. lou wilson and zac oyama. absolutely iconic bench on this one.
mixed bags:
mixed bag tier my beloved!! so many are so good!
the whole blazing babe chronicles. not enough people know there was a second hot boy summer campaign that’s available on the mixed bag. caldwell spills half a corona on his character sheet. it’s a dry july and the boys are Not on the same page about it. love is love is love returns.
the biggest loreser is new but damn if it isn’t impeccable. warning: the fred flintstone noise is fucking LOUD
all the taste tests (energy drinks, m&ms, and gamer energy drinks). jake tries an expired products. jake later forgets to buy peanut m&ms while emily decides she can taste what color an m&m is. murph gets hyped on caffeine and has to take a break resulting in one of the most insane short rests to date. listen to the short rest first, it’s funnier that way.
if you can listen to live shows, (the sound is sometimes challenging) i recommend those. great starting point is the melbourne one from last year, i laughed so much the first time i heard it. “i was a lurking actor. that’s a union job!” also the boston dungeon court did hit the main feed but started as a mixed bag and i was there so i want to shout it out.
emily’s winter solstice one shot!! brennan and siobhan are there and it’s creepy and truly so fun.
both dungeons and dragons movies. jake and emily gaslight murph. they talk about a truly terrible set of films. there’s someone called grape lady that is a highlight.
both spilltaculars. at times a bit cringe, but it’s fun to hear other people’s failures sometimes because then you feel better about yourself. plus they make up a judgement scale that is different every time.
spellcheck! the game show that’s kinda sweeping the nation. or was. it’s fun.
that’s long (oops) and all i can think of off the top of my head. if people have other faves, share them for new patreon people!
also, my last bit of advice is to join the streams if you can. jake’s stream is for the short rest tier and above and caldwells is for the mixed bag tier and above. they’re wild. we had caldwell drawing everyone in crocs for like 6 months (it’s arguably why we’re getting the jibbitz). sometimes you get tucker lore. (tucker, the fictional man jake’s wife is cucking him with.) they’re grand.

anthroponymy in the bear
Apologies if someone's done this already, but I've been thinking a lot about the names of the characters in The Bear, and how almost nothing in this show is accidental. It's led me to wonder whether the names chosen are also intentional and if they can tell us anything about the characters and their journeys.
Firstly, we have Michael. The name is derived from a Hebrew phrase meaning ‘who is like god’ (often posed as a question). It’s fitting in my opinion. His character certainly is a godlike presence, his influence and love felt but not seen in The Beef. As the eldest sibling, he’s presented as a leader, and Carmy and Richie worship his vision.
There’s a creation aspect with Mikey. He plays god from beyond the grave, literally breathing life into The Bear through the money he stashed in the tomato cans - we have him to thank for its establishment.
The tomatoes remind me of the bible story of the feeding of the five thousand. In this miracle, Jesus is able to feed five thousand hungry people from just a few loaves of bread and a few fish. In ep 1.08, a humble tin of tomatoes - just as much a symbol of modesty as a loaf of bread - is opened to reveal a wad of cash. From this money comes The Bear, which hopefully will go on to feed just as many hungry mouths, if not more!
Interestingly, 'michelin' is a diminutive of 'Michel', an alternate spelling of Michael. I wonder if there's a connection there? Maybe the key to The Bear earning its Michelin star will lie with Michael? A recipe of his, or a piece of advice he gave Carmy? (Sidetracking, but I just think it’s cool!)
Next, we have Carmy, who’s full name is Carmen. I’ve looked at a few sources, and there seem to be a couple of different meanings for his name. The Latin meaning comes from the word for a song or a poem. The Hebrew meaning is garden or vineyard.
‘Song or poem’ to me reflects Carmy’s creative nature, his love of cooking and drawing. ‘Vineyard’ is interesting, considering that Donna is an alcoholic, and that as far as we know, Carmy is either sober or drinks very little.
Carmen is also a gender neutral name. For me, one of the significant themes of the show is masculinity, and how different ideas of masculinity are warring with each other. To me, Mikey and to an extent Richie represent one particular masculine ideal, one that’s maybe a bit toxic. Carmy meanwhile is not painted as the stereotypical masculine guy. Richie often insults Carmy’s masculinity, jeering at his culinary training, being homophobic, making fun of his lack of experience with women.
There’s so much I could say about this dichotomy, even right down to the dishes that are associated with each character. Richie’s idea of The Beef serving ‘food of the working man’. The sandwiches - their red meat fillings. Mikey’s spaghetti, in its simplicity, its earthiness, its history as a staple food of the working class. To me, it’s a masculine, down to earth dish, very at odds with the fancier, more elegant dishes we come to associate Carmy with.
Then we have characters such as Luca and Marcus - both of whom are associated with baking. You don’t have to be a genius to know that baking is seen as a feminine art. Luca and Marcus arguably don’t fit the macho man ideal either - both of them being depicted as a lot more gentle, calm, and creative types.
Next - Sydney. It’s an Old English name, and there are a few different interpretations of it that I could find. One is ‘wide meadow’ or ‘wide water meadow’.
When Syd breezes into The Beef in ep 1, she’s literally a breath of fresh air. She’s a meadow! Her vision for what the restaurant could be, both in terms of the food served and the way the kitchen could be run (i.e. mutual respect, a smooth chain of command, no psycho bosses) is an idealistic vision, a utopia, a garden of Eden type image.
This brings me to the link with Carmy’s name:
Remember how one of the meanings of Carm’s name was garden? In my opinion, this similarity only reinforces the writer's intentions for us to see Syd and Carmy as kindred spirits. Gardens, meadows… both peaceful, calm, beautiful places. To me, it tells us they’re each other’s peace. It also tells us if they learn how to work together, they can create that ideal vision for the restaurant that they both crave.
Another interpretation of Syd’s name is that it means island or island dweller. This brings to mind the phrase ‘no man is an island’, which to me perfectly summarises her character’s central struggle. The phrase means that humans need each other. We need support, and we can’t do things alone. I think Sydney is shown as someone who can be prone to bottling things up, and maybe finds it difficult to ask for help and to be vulnerable. She’s not shown as having many family and friendship connections, and we see a lot of scenes where she’s alone - eating in restaurants, on the train, cooking at home. In that sense, she is a bit of an island, and I hope we see her become able to rely on others a little more in seasons to come (and hopefully Carmy gets his act together enough for her to trust him to be her support!).
Next up: Jimmy. Short for James, a derivative of the Hebrew Jacob, it means ‘supplanter’. A supplanter means someone who takes the place of something else, like a usurper. Now, in ep 2.06, Jimmy and Donna’s dynamic was a little suspect, and I think a lot of people would agree that we’re supposed to infer something was going on there, with Cicero figuratively and perhaps literally taking the place of Bear senior. My theory is that there was an affair, and that Jimmy is actually Mikey’s father. JAW and Abby Elliott look pretty alike I’d say, while John Bernthal has quite different features. Was this intentional? Who’s to say, but I think there’s definitely a case to be made for there being two different fathers. Equally, Mr Bear could be Mikey’s dad, while Jimmy could be Nat and Carm’s true father - he has their lighter hair and eyes, so who knows!!
In Genesis, Jacob supplants his twin brother by buying his birthright. In the show, Jimmy attempts to buy the restaurant, which of course once belonged to Carmy’s dad. Although the show doesn’t give us the full story of the pair, we gather that Jimmy and Bear Sr. were old friends who were almost more like brothers, until a feud ruined their relationship. Interesting for sure!
Next is Tina. Short for Christina, which means ‘follower of Christ’. Her last name, Marrero, is interesting. Deriving from Spanish, it means stone-breaker or hammer, reflecting her strength of character. She’s a single mother, an immigrant, and has been working in male-dominated kitchens with all these shitty, angry men for years. As far as we know, she was the only woman at The Beef pre-Syd. She dealt with Mikey and Richie’s shit for years. You’d have to be pretty fucking tough.
On the other hand, T is so warm and kind underneath it all and seems able to penetrate through the other character’s exteriors relatively easily - Richie, Carmy, Ebra, Syd. They can all be pretty grumpy, but they all have SUCH a soft spot for Tina and only Tina. She’s the stone breaker to their stony surface! 💖🥰💖🥰
Okay those are the main ones I wanted to talk about, but here’s a few more in brief:
Richie: short for Richard, which means strong or brave ruler/leader. In the final episode, we see Richie leading expo and doing a great job. He’s finally living up to his name - literally finding his purpose.
Donna: means lady in Italian. Madonna, or ‘my lady’ is another name for Mary, Jesus’ mother. The ‘mother of victory’ referenced in the prayer that Carm, Nat and Richie say before the soft open is the same Mary. Whilst Donna definitely doesn’t share many characteristics with Mary, I think the comparison is useful in showing the bear kids’ conflicting view of their mother. They of course still love her and crave her love and her blessing for the restaurant in return.
Natalie: means ‘birth of the lord’, literally, ‘Christmas’. There could be a connection here to the Fishes episode, which takes place on Christmas.
Pete: short for Peter, it means rock. When Jesus made the disciple Peter the first Pope, he said, ‘on this rock I build my church’. Pete is Nat’s rock and I think that’s beautiful!!!!!!
Ebra: short for Ebrahim, an alternate spelling of Abraham, which means 'father of many'. He’s a father figure for The Bear!
I know there are a couple I've left out from the main cast, one being Marcus, whose name means 'follower of Mars', the Roman god. I'm still figuring out whether there's a significance there - I'm sure there could be. Maybe I'll do a part two with the rest of the characters!
Anyways I just think it's neat how fitting a lot of the names are... and I really don't think a lot of them were accidental!
Pls feel free to add on and/or correct me if I got anything wrong!

EPISODE ONE.
[ name ] ! there is a dead person in here !
me ? wha- I didn't do this.
I do not kill people. that is my least favorite thing to do.
well, this guy walked in. so I went up to him and I... stabbed him 37 times in the chest.
[ name ] ! that kills people !
I was hungry for hands, give me a break.
my stomach was making the rumblies that only hands can satisfy.
what is wrong with you, [ name ] ?
well, I kill people and I eat hands, that's two things.
EPISODE TWO.
what on earth was all that ?
you sunk an entire cruise ship, [ name ] !
are you sure that was me ? I think I would remember something like that.
thank god the children weren't around to see it.
oh, I guess you could say it's red and sticky.
I will not apologize for art.
I have a problem. I have a serious problem.
shh ! do you hear that ? that's the sound of forgiveness.
that's the sound of people dying, [ name ].
that is what forgiveness sounds like: screaming and then silence.
EPISODE THREE.
I don't know about you, but I'm having a wonderful time here.
they were a traitor and a scoundrel.
that hurt my feelings. now we're both in the wrong.
well, I'm building a meat dragon and not just any meat will do.
oh, forget it. I'm not even shocked anymore. this has become the norm for you.
I'll have to try harder next time; I feel like I've been issued a challenge.
I totally don't remember your name.
EPISODE FOUR.
[ name ], you've tracked mud all over the carpet !
now that right there is a mess.
I'm not responsible for this.

clue number one, the imposter is a phantom.
you've gone too far this time, [ name ].
how did you even do this ?
I ripped a tag off a mattress.
this isn't funny, [ name ].
who's laughing ? clearly not all the people who just died.
I'm leaving, I've had enough of this.
that isn't friendship, [ name ] ! that's sick !
you're right, it's not nearly as tasteful as I pictured in my head.
...probably because I'm a dangerous sociopath with a long history of violence. I don't understand how you keep forgetting that.
EPISODE FIVE.
I know you've done something. you've always done something.
you mistake me for some sort of scoundrel.
I am a respected member of the community ! to even insinuate...
I may have forgotten to mention one of my activities. I apologize, that was wrong.
I think it's just a lens flare and some dust.
I think I was expecting worse.
worse ? but this is totally fucked !
c'mon, look at this ! how did I even do this ?
I don't understand how or why you do anything.

random athf hcs
i know characters dying but reviving next ep/no continuity is the norm, but when it comes to steve, it would not surprise me if dr. weird had a large collection of steve clones that he just goes through for the lulz. he never has to hire new peeps so it's just convientient
plutonians purr like cats do and for the same reasons, but the purr sounds like a combo of a cat, a dove's coo, and a gutteral rattle
Carl: 6', Frylock: 5'3", Shake: From bottom to cup lid 5' but to the bend of the straw it's 6', Meatwad: 2', Oglethorpe: 5'9", Emory: 7', Ignigknot: 3', Err: 1', MC Peepants (Big Spider Mode): 8', Dr. Weird: 6'6", Steve: 5'9" for some heights
shake's pistachio milkshake power works like snake venom in that he can only shoot out a certain amount of it until he empties out, and that it takes a lot of energy/nutrients to regenerate it. not that it changes anything bc he'd still be a depraved omnivore of a sentient milkshake w/o the setback but uh. OH yea and it is edible, enough to fill a route 44 from sonic to the top, but you'd have to ask REAL nice or be hyper sweet to him if you wanna get it but no guarantee. plus hed prolly spit in it or immediately toss it to the ground
frylock's fries are also edible but it genuinely hurts him if you eat it bc while it is sorta like his hair, some also have bones in them and are basically like our hands/arms. maybe if he shoots his fries at you like in the movie it would be ok, but you'd get hurt af and it's the same w shake in that he cant use it too much bc it takes a lot of biological resources & energy to regenerate. if he wants to cut his hair he can take certain pain mediation for it.
DO NOT EAT MEATWAD. 1.) if u do ur a monster but 2.) it may be ground meat but it's got garbage, sand, broken down bits of food, dirt, poop?, pee, parasites, the whole 9 yards so unless ur a animal or if you want to shit ur organs and skeleton out bc ur that desperately hungry then go ahead ig
meatwad works through slime logic in that he can't actually die unless hes been atomized/obliterated completely/eaten whole then yea hes dead. he just needed some time to recuperate dw abt it. not to mention he can also eat just abt anything in any amt. also he knows every aspect of the skibidi toilet lore, but only some major details on the fnaf lore but do NOT ask him abt reminant and fazgoo cuz he'll just stare at you blankly
the mooninites used neil armstrong's footprints on the moon as their restroom
carl doesn't know what an anime is but if he did knew what it was he would absolutely be a fan of it (even if he'd hide it in shame). you dont wanna know what else.
shake sucks at sports in general and anything that requires physical activity, he prefers to watch it on his seat instead. he is physically strong when he's prepared to fight, but if you catch him by surprise he's a complete bitch. actually hes a complete wuss in general when it comes to trying to fight anyone bigger/aggressive than himself. if him and his girl get mugged while walking in the middle of the night he's tossing her at the robber and running (jumping) away. but anyone weaker/smaller/meeker is fair game bc ofc
frylock has misophonia (hates the sound of people chewing). anytime he tries to explain it, shake makes a mesothelioma joke. but also it's so intense he will straight up blast you if you dont listen to him, shake had to learn that the hard way
mooninites can only comprehend music in 8 bit/midi. like ignignokt can listen to regular classic rock and be like "fuck yea bro" but through his ears(? head??) it sounds like an 8 bit/midi rendition of it. idk if this is making any sense but the closest i can come up w is that its more like a translation thing
plutonians do poop/excrete?? waste that does act like all purpose cleaner from earth but it smells highkey like rotting eggs and aged cheese, maybe even worse depending on what they've ate
#headcanons#text post#athf#the mooninites#frylock#meatwad#master shake#carl#the plutonians#i dont wanna tag all the chars#i think too much abt this shit dtrfghf#way too damn serious for a show like this lmaooooo

Riz Gukgak Junior Year Playlist: side A
Heres the first side of the Junior Year Riz Playlist and the explanations down below, Spoilers for Episodes 1-10 in FHJY
Genres: Alternative, Anti Folk, Math Rock, Punk
1. Photosynthesis, They Might Be Giants
Photosynthesis does not involve a camera Or a synthesizer Although that's interesting, too Photosynthesis is how plants take in light From the sun and turn it into energy It's actually a thing on which most life depends Here on the planet Earth
GOD so when I'm not making these playlists I'm and environmental educator and when Brian was like "we're the photosythe-KIDS!" i nearly lost it. Gotta let this little nerdy kid have at least one nerd song as a treat to me
2. Dissonance, AJJ
My feet planted in different realities I've been doing lots of parallel planning and asking Does morals exist anymore? Wondering if society's all broken down yet I should probably know I should probably know I should probably grow some more plants in the window I should probably try I should probably try I should probably try to find a cure for this dissonance
One of the things I relate to Riz about the most is the way in which he is so hungry for explanation and, specifically problem solving. When they get dropped right back into normal teen life after having just saved the world and "cracked the case", Riz had to really switch into school mode fast (with the whole paying for college thing)
3. Stress, Jim's Big Ego
I'm addicted to stress That's the way that I get things done If I'm not under pressure then I sleep too long And I hang around like a bum I think I'm going nowhere, and that makes me nervous Everybody's out to get me, but I feel all right
Obsessed with the way that, if Brennan didn't let Riz take on the stress of other people in the party, he would literally be so normal about the downtime system. God help him and his nervous system.
4. Travelers Insurance, Their/They're/There
After all that we've done, You still skipped out on the beat of a different drum. Blurring the lines between failure and fortune
it's getting at Riz supporting so many people in his party, taking on their stress, organizing their extracurriculars, and literally tutoring them on subjects he doesn't know about. And they're definitely trying to keep everything under control, but sometimes it feels like when they mess up or make bad choices, it's Riz who has to take the L
5. Pitch Black, Heart Attack Man
Rock bottom smile bares its rotting teeth again Acts like there's nothing wrong and they're still my closest friend Romanticize the fondest memories and good times And hope that I forget the rest Rock bottom's grinning as it's creeping up again Dust off the depths and make me wish that I was dead again Hold out your hand to me Take me to a place in hell where Having self-esteem seems selfish and unhealthy
God the way that in Ep. 10 after Riz had that talk with his mom about everything he was just so despondent the rest of the episode about everything that was happening, and actually thinking about the toll his friendships were taking on him 💀
6. An Antidote for Strychnine, The Mountain Goats
Dig down amongst my calculations Check my maps Up there on the surface Everybody's gettin' ready for the bloodbath Stem the tide, stem the tide They're calling down for reinforcements Tryin' to find An antidote for strychnine Tryin' to find An antidote for strychnine
This has always and forever been such a Riz song for me and I feel like it really fits the tone of Riz looking into the soil, into lucy's death, into eventually the loam farm, reluctantly telling his mom about it. The moment when he thinks that something like what happened to Yolanda could happen to his mother and he gets really serious about it. AHHHHHH Something something isolation, something something taking on dangerous tasks by yourself just to protect the ones you love

TB S2 EP 13 THOUGHTS!
True, Omega has gotten really good with being a soldier. She's staying cool in high tension situations, she has good aim, thinks on her feet and outsmarts her opponents easily. But Phee is right, Omega hasn't gotten to just be a kid for a while now. She deserves to have a proper childhood
LOVED seeing Hunter's enhanced senses at work. Sometimes I catch myself going "froce sensitive?" just because he's so hyper-aware
^this is just based on him grabbing that dudes wrist when he tried to take his money
THAT MOMENT WHEN WRECKER GOT UP WHEN THE GUY WAS ALL "shoulda brought more muscle" BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR BITCH
Phee shooting that guy under the table like damn girly alright
"Yes, I am playing against myself. It is the only time this game is a challenge." YES BABY TELL 'EM ALL HOW SMART YOU ARE🤍🤍🤍
"We never had such a thing. I do not see the issue." Oh,,,, oh Tech Baby. Stop telling people how dumb you are🤍🤍🤍
Hunter did look like he was mulling over Phee's words
CID CAN GO AND :)
"Our mutually beneficial agreement wasn't so beneficial,,, mutually." Hunter your himbo is showing babes
HHHHH OKAY IT'S SUBTLE BUT!!! When Phee types in the coordinates to Pabu, her hand lands on Tech's shoulder. He briefly glances down at it, somewhat skeptically, and then she lifts it off again, before patting his shoulder and his eyes widen a little bit and maybe im too invested in this ship and I'll be quiet now bye
PABU IS SO PRETTY OMG
I LOVE that Phee isn't like a pirate-pirate. Like I thought she was shady but dang, she's just taking back people's heritage that was stolen from them and I LOVE IT
"Got some competition." WAAAAHH I KNEW IT
"Welcome" "Welcome" "Welcome" "Welc-" "PUT IT THERE" WRECKER I LOVE YOU
"Lots of food, drink and general merrimaking," points at Tech, "You'll probably hate it. It'll be great." Tech rolls eyes
^YOUR HONOUR I LOVE THEM
NO BECAUSE BECAUSE Tech is the sassy b in the squad and Phee switching her flirting technique from "hi there good looking" to "lol dumb b" IS EXACTLY WHAT OUR BOY WANTS AND SHE FCKING KNOWS IT
AND THEN IT WORKS BC TECH TURNS AROUND TO LOOK AT HER WHEN THEY SPLIT AND HE'S LITERALLY THE ONLY ONE AND THEN HE HAS THE LITTLE SMILE AND DOWN ANGLED FACE AND WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
"I have not heard her laugh like that in some time." Heeeeessss learniiiiing (that Phee was right lol)
"As a father, you couldn't ask for a better place to raise a child." Okay, glad we're all on the same page. Like, I'm glad all we gotta do is take one goddamn look at Hunter and just go "Dad."
I know it's supposed to be a joke again, but like Wrecker being full for the first time? That's so sad. Imagine going to bed hungry EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Being full for the first time is something to remember, Tech should be writing it down.
Omega and Lyana bonding on the boat was so sweet!!
Phee getting Tech away from his datapad to get him to appreciate life's beauty IS MAKING MY HEART SO FULL
"Pretty spectacular, right?" <- Phee using the word spectacular, even though its not in her usual vocabulary, because she's generally more succinct and down to earth, but it's totally a word Tech would use
"I suppose... that is... one way to... quantify it." <- Whenever Tech talks about data or research (topics without emotional involvement) his sentences flow nicely and evenly and he gets about 100 out in 2 seconds. Whenever he has to talk about emotions or emotions are involved in the conversation suddenly he gets quieter and his sentences have less of a flow. He doesn't stutter, but he needs a minute to get them out. hmm yes very interesting.
Hunter checking in with the girls, so cute
Omegas learned a lot and has been pretty secure in her ability, but hearing her sound so scared when the wave came? dang. loved that she immediately called hunter though. V sweet :)
TECH AND PHEE WORKING TOGETHER
PHEE HOLDING ON TO TECH TO GET UP THE WALL HEHEHEHEHEHHE
Not a single 'fear of heights' comment from Wrecker when climbing that ladder. Proud of him :)
Tech pushing through that crowd to check on his bro THE CUTENESS
Wrecker side-hugging the mayor when he's looking at all the destruction I CAN'T THAT'S SO SWEET
So,,, so Phee and Tech just move as a unit now, huh... very interesting
Phee not letting Tech disturb Omega, Lyana, and Wrecker and him listening to her so quickly just,,, I think she'll end up helping him connect to/understand human emotion better and show him how to navigate relationships and I'm SO HERE FOR IT
Like she knows people and is clearly good with relationships, and he recognises that and trusts her to point him in the right direction, WHICH HE DIDN'T AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE!!!
"We could stay and help out with things."
"I had the same idea."
"Did you, now?"
cue cute smiling at eachother
WAAAAAAAA MY BABIES!!!!
10/10 episode, made my heart v happy. Dave Filoni, I have left your walls, you may live in peace until next week.
#THIS EPISODE WAS EVERYTHING I NEED GOOD LORD#SO MUCH CUTENESS I LOVE IT!!!!#the Phee and Tech ship is gonna be what kills me#and not just because mine and phee's name are pronounced the same (but that does play into it)#anyway#star wars#the bad batch#star wars the bad batch#sw#tbb#sw tbb#tbb tech#tbb hunter#tbb wrecker#tbb phee#tbb omega#phee genoa#Phee x Tech#tbb s2#tbb s2 spoilers#tbb spoilers#clones

I've decided to rewatch YJ all over again. Just finished EP 1 and- man, I feel like I'ma kid again. "Today is the day!" yeah don't mind me crying like a baby. Well, better enjoy it before it becomes the embodiment of that audio that goes "there was a very hungry, genetically modified caterpillar- SEVEN NUCLEAR MISSILES!"
Also, very fun to watch it after I read basically anything that DC has to offer- lots of fun stuff to pick up. The flips my guts did at "Blockbuster" AAA if they ever make a s5 (they should make, like, at least three more seasons to sort everything out) I definitely want to see the whole Blockbuster-Nightwing-Tarantula issue, even if I understand that it's set on a different earth and that it'd be too heavy, perhaps, for a pg 14 show.

The Ambassadors of Death The Third Doctor joins UNIT's investigation of the mystery surrounding Mars Probe 7. Space Control, headed by Professor Ralph Cornish, has had no contact with the astronauts on board since it started back from Mars seven months ago. Now the Recovery 7 rescue mission has run into similar difficulties.
This second ship gets back to Earth, but the astronauts are kidnapped after landing, and Liz Shaw notices that the Geiger counter is at maximum. It transpires that the ship's occupants were not the human astronauts after all but a trio of radiation-dependent alien ambassadors who had swapped places with them.
The Doctor makes a solo flight in Recovery 7 and docks with Mars Probe 7, still orbiting in space. He is intercepted by a huge, alien spaceship and taken on board, where he finds the real astronauts unharmed. The aliens' captain threatens to destroy the Earth unless their three ambassadors are returned.
The Doctor is allowed to go and, after returning to Space Control, discovers that the kidnapping of the ambassadors is part of a scheme devised by xenophobic ex-astronaut General Carrington to discredit the aliens and convince the world's authorities to wage war against them. The Doctor and UNIT thwart his plans and arrange the safe exchange of ambassadors for astronauts.
The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood It's 2020, and the most ambitious drilling project in history has reached deeper beneath the Earth's crust than man has ever gone before — but now the ground itself is fighting back. The Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory arrive in a tiny mining village, and find themselves plunged into a battle against a deadly danger from a bygone age.
Once more the Eleventh Doctor meets members of the Silurian race. However, this time, can he prevent them from being destroyed by humanity out of an act of self-preservation, or can he broker peace between them and bring about a better future for both races of planet Earth?
In the meantime, there are other questions that are left unanswered: Can Ambrose be trusted to keep Alaya alive? What is happening to Tony Mack's wound? Are the Silurians responsible for the empty graves? And what awaits Mo and Amy when a Silurian doctor is eager to see what makes them tick?

I am watching season five of doctor (about to watch ep 8: the hungry earth) and I'm doing my best to give it a chance but I must say I'm not fond of amy or 11th Doctor so far :/ To me amy just doesn't have much to her? Her dynamic with the doctor is off-putting to me for whatever reason but to ge fair I might just be missing 9 and 10 and rose and donna too much andjdjd BUT I am in your askbox to ask your opinion on amy and 11?
The answer to this question is a little complicated, because it's less about Eleven and Amy and more about what happened to the show when someone else took over.
Seasons 1 through 4 were run by showrunner Russel T. Davies. In his iteration of Doctor Who, the show was very much focused on the companions; while the Doctor is a main character, the story of each season was less about him and more about the journey the companions went on. Seasons 1 and 2 (and her episodes in 4) were about Rose growing from a discontented shop girl into someone much more like the Doctor. Season 3 was about Martha finding confidence in herself and her own independence. Season 4 was continuing the arc Donna started in "The Runaway Bride" special, in that she found that both she and the world she lived in was so much more than what she'd thought it was for so long. (And then all of that was horrifically ripped away from her in one of the worst companion endings to ever happen . . . but maybe that will be fixed in the upcoming special?) Yes, the Doctor did things and got progressively more sad. But each season was much more about Rose, Martha, and Donna in turn. The Doctor and the TARDIS were just vessels for their stories.
But that . . . changed when RTD left the show and the showrunner position was taken over by Steven Moffat.
Moffat was the showrunner from season 5 through 10. Moffat's version of Doctor Who is very much centered around the Doctor, both in that the Doctor is a man who loves to solve mysteries (his primary motivation for taking Amy along, at least in the beginning, is because he's curious about the crack in her wall and wants to solve that mystery), and also as The Most Important Character in the Show. I find it kind of funny how many episodes were named "The [something] of the Doctor." Like we had The Name of the Doctor, the Night of the Doctor, the Day of the Doctor . . . I was ready for The Scent of the Doctor next. The Taste of the Doctor. The Feel of the Doctor.
The point is, the companions were in Moffat's version of Doctor Who for two reasons: 1.) so the Doctor could have someone to impress / a mystery to solve (both of his primary companions, Amy and Clara, came with mysteries), and 2.) because it's a series staple. And to be fair, from what I understand Classic Who also very much focused on the Doctor, with the (usually female) companion being there to entice men to watch the show (eye candy) and also for the Doctor to have someone to rescue / impress. So in that sense, Moffat focusing on the Doctor as The Most Important Character is going back to the series roots, as the most generous explanation I can give for why he wrote Doctor Who this way. (And also ignoring the other show he was working on at the time, BBC Sherlock, which also focused on a genius man intent on solving mysteries, hmm.)
In any case, I think this is probably the reason why you're feeling a disconnect; whereas in RTD's Who the main focus was on the companion, here the main focus is on the Doctor. Amy is there because a female companion is a series staple, because the Doctor needs a mystery to solve, and because Steven Moffat thought Karen Gillan was a bombshell. From his mouth:
"And I thought, 'well [Karen]'s really good. It's just a shame she's so wee and dumpy.' [. . .] When she was about to come through to the auditions I nipped out for a minute and I saw Karen walking on the corridor towards me and I realized she was 5'11, slim and gorgeous and I thought 'Oh, oh that'll probably work.'"
Note that this is not to discount Karen's acting ability at all, because she's a fantastic actress. It's just that Moffat wouldn't have picked her to play Amy if she was "wee and dumpy," and instead her being "5'11", slim, and gorgeous" was a deciding factor for him.
And then there's the whole . . . I don't even want to call it "romance" because I don't think that was ever the point. Because Moffat had already planned for Eleven to be with River Song (you met her briefly in season four), and Amy to be with Rory (their relationship is an archetype of his), and so really Amy throwing herself at the Doctor was meant to be more of a "isn't Karen Gillan hot, why don't we show her doing sexy things" and also "the Doctor is just That Irresistible," which is again something that Moffat does with Sherlock in BBC Sherlock, but that's another conversation.
TL;DR . . . I really don't like Moffat's Doctor Who. It's not for me. Moffat runs the show for Doctors Eleven and Twelve, and then all of the seasons with the Thirteenth Doctor are run by Chris Chibnall. But he's gone now as well, and Russel T. Davies is back for the 60th anniversary special (which brings back Donna and . . . they're calling him Fourteen because Thirteen regenerated into him, but it's David Tennant again), as well as the upcoming seasons with the Fifteenth Doctor. I'm excited to see those, since although RTD's seasons definitely have flaws, his method of telling Doctor Who was what I liked best.
And those are my thoughts!
#eggthew#moffat stans please don't try to argue with me abt any of this#it's just like my opinion man#i'm too old and tired to argue about a family oriented sci-fi show w/ people#doctor who#moffat critical

The 100 Rewatch 2023 ep 1.3
Earth Kills.
Yes we love the Earth Skills/Earth Kills play on words.
On the Ark, flash back young happy Jahas and Griffins. They are so cute. Ugh that look Jaha gives Abby and Jake when they're being romantic. So longing, so pining. Frankly that would have been a good storyline.
Groaning Jasper who everyone thinks is dying. Ooh Clarke hears Charlotte having a nightmare. This is a terrible storyline but actually a really good one. The horror, the pain, the tragedy. It points out the injustice of the systems on the Ark. Jailing a prepubescent girl who just lost her parents for assaulting a guard? Where were you Jaha when that went down? Was that a place where you needed to enforce the rules?
Oh, the missing kids. Trina and somebody else. "Trina Relax we're fine." What is that? Oh that's the poison fog. Not fine. Nope. Great way to introduce tension and danger frankly.
Bellamy showing off with his throwing knives. Murphy being an ass. Atom being Bellamy's bitch. lol. Pascale. That's the other one. No they're not just lost. He makes Murphy guard the camp.
Trying to save Jasper who's wound is infected.
O trying to make moves on Atom and Atom taking his punishment and ignoring her. O and Bellamy confrontation. Bellamy being a jackass big brother. Meanwhile Clarke is debriding Jasper's wound and Bellamy thinks he can't save him. "Down here every life matters."
Bellamy. "Look at him, he's a lost cause." THere's a bit of an oracle. Bellamy meanwhile thinks Clarke doesn't have the guts.
"Power hungry self serving jackass. He doesn't care about anyone but himself." Says Monty. Which is actually completely wrong.
Finn however agrees with him about Jasper being a lost cause and that's ANOTHER clue where that guy discards people like trash. Bellamy is wrong and so is Finn.
Abby and Jake fighting about the Ark dying and wanting to tell everyone. He's TALL. And has big shoulders.
Clarke examingin the grounder poultice (go away finn) Wells has figured out what the poultice is and is telling her how to find it and she keeps rolling her eyes and talking to Finn. More blaming him for getting her dad killed. The three find a hidden car. Neat.
Bellamy hunting, turns around and flings an axe and almost hits Charlotte. Enter big brother bellamy. He gives her a knife. Discussion about killing things. "Who knows maybe you're good at it."
They find the seaweed and Wells worries about the sea monster, Finn talks about rigging something. Clarke wades in and gets it. Oh, flock of birds fleeing. The grounder warning horn. O. Kno. RUN RUN.
boo back to the ARk. If it isn't Raven I don't care. Oh its another flashback we find Wells and Clarke playing chess. She tells him about her dad. Yeah yeah. I know. She's wrong. She will regret how she treated him. And we never had enough time for it to matter. I do not like that story choice. Despite it being important later. They shouldn't have killed off Wells.
They run from the poison gas and find the car. Bellamy takes Charlotte into a cave, Atom falls and is caught in it. The kids are running into the dropship. Good and scary.
Wells, Clarke and Finn find booze. Wells "alcohol is toxic." Lawful good. Goodie goodie. which makes Clarke rebel.
Charlotte in the cave with the bad dreams. Bellamy and his fateful inspiring speech telling her to slay her demons when she's awake and they won't be there in her sleep. Fear is weakness. Weakness is death. When you feel afraid hold tight to that knife and say 'screw you, i'm not a afraid.' Sigh. Obviously she doesn't have a hold of her sanity. Or maybe she does. They're setting up a new society down there where people threaten and fight and torture. This is what Bellamy did until he realizes the consequences.
I don't actually want to listen to this drunk Clarke blaming Wells forever for something he didn't do. Ugh. LEave him alone Clarke. Finn tells her to take it easy. Clarke. "I have no idea how to do that." Wells DOES drink the booze. See he would have lightened up.
Jasper still howling in pain. Murphy says he's gonna kill him. Monty and O lock him out. Murphy was awful. Terrible. Great bad guy. Oh hey, anyone watch Flash? I saw Richard was playing a bad guy on that. He's really good at a creepy, morally gray, oddly attractive bad guy.
Clarke wants to be a part of the plot to reveal the dying Ark. She calls her dad dumb. lol. "you picked a fine time to start being a rebellious teenager." And Jake is arrested.
Acid fog gone. Finn doesn't think Wells is innocent of what she accuses him of. This is actually one of the times I don't hate Finn. He's right. But he's always trying to get into her life, behind her walls.
Charlotte finds Atom. Atom tells Bellamy to kill him. She gives the knife to Bellamy. He sends her back to camp. Clarke arrives over his shoulder. She gets right to work. No. He's not gonna make it. She tells Atom she's gonna help him. Takes the knife from Bellamy and starts humming. Bellamy just watches her while she cuts his carotid.(so does charlotte.) They're back in camp.
Bellamy "Get Clarke wahtever she needs." The turning point in their relationship from Enemies to partners.
O blames Bellamy for Atom's death which is stupid. IT's not his fault. And he takes the blame. That is one dynamic I don't like. The O&B blame bellamy carousel. I get why she does it and it's true to character, but it takes so long to grow out of it.
Floating Jake. I know it's the basis for Clarke's character but I guess I'm less interested in what happened before the show and more interested to the things ON the show. A bit of tear jerking. Wells is there. Jaha is there. Abby is there. Wells does not look happy. HE shot his dad a horrified look. DId they need to have Jake flip out of the ship like a fricking flap jack? lol.
Giving Jasper seaweed soup. Clarke apologizes to O about Atom's death. O says "I guess we're going to have to get used to people dying." And that's some more oracle work isn't it?
Clarke finally figures out that it was her mom not Wells who told on Jake. Honestly. That's exhausting too. I'm glad that she grew out of the holding grudges phase. Not yet, but soon. This is the story that teaches her to let go.
Octavia and MOnty drinking the booze. Jasper wakes up.
Finn, "Welcome back buddy." ARen't you the one who kept trying to leave him to die?
Wells watching the sunset. along comes a spider. Or charlotte. And they have a nice little moment, and talk about nightmares. "I think I found a way to make them stop. Sorry." stabs him. chops off his fingers. Sharp knife. She tells the story of how she sees Wells father ever night killing her parents and she wakes up and sees his. The only way to make it better is to slay her demons. She had to. And hums while he dies.
SUPER HARSH. Pretty damn effective though. If I recall, that was when I had to reevaluate my opinion of this show as being pretty teens in the post apocalypse. Or no. I think it was the one two punch of Atom being put out of his misery and then Wells being murdered by a misguided traumatized teen.
Of course as soon as they reconcile, Wells dies.
The acting is all better now. The storylines are more original. The characters have more depth. The kids are less stupid because theres more risk out there.
I do not love Clarke's grudge holding in this episode. She's acting like a child. Granted, she IS a child. So it's not a fatal character flaw, and she definitely grows up.
These kids are all traumatized.
I want to see them heal and get strong and find love and be happy.
:/
#the 100 rewatch 2023#murder kids#poison gass#it turns out she DOES have the guts to make the hard decisions#understatement of the show

Moonlight Chicken Ep 1 & 2 Thoughts
Very long. Under the cut
-Day two of playing catch up and I learned there are TWO episodes of this show out right now so I guess I’m gonna liveblog both. Can’t wait until I can turn off the filter for this tag.
-Not how I was expecting this show to start. This feels a little too real right now oof.
-This man has given out so much money just in the first 3 minutes of the show. Is he actually financially stable enough to be doing that?
-What is this? Instalove? That phone is not on. That was just a black screen. That was a whole lot of staring for a first meeting.
-I have thoughts on this opening but I do not know what they are. I can’t articulate it. Was this the MV they did? This song? I have many thoughts.
-“I can get a better price for kidneys” what a weird thing to say.
-Handing someone a can of beer has never before been so gay.
-I should not be watching this while hungry. Where are my snacks?
-Eeeewww the vomit sounds. Ew. I am no longer hungry. Gross.
-If you’re sober, don’t kiss him with your vomit mouth. Please dear god don’t kiss him with your vomit mouth.
-Oh look at that. They fucked.
-A CAT. Oh that cat LOVES him. I love this. Can this show just be Mix petting the cat? I think I might need to make a trip to my parent’s house soon just to see their cats.
-That bench looks uncomfortable. If we all work together we can get that man some better furniture.
-I like this chicken vendor lady. She’s my favorite character so far.
-This show simultaneously has so much happening and not enough happening.
-They keep calling him old. How old is Earth? How old is the character he’s playing? Earth is 29. I guess he must seem old to all of those young twenty-somethings. But how old is his character? I should learn these names. It will take me a few episodes though.
-They both keep thinking about how good it was. This means it’s about to get messy.
-He’s definitely gonna get stopped by the police at some point.
-I’m not entirely sure what chicken rice is but it want it.
-DEAF CHARACTER. Who is understandably annoyed and frustrated.
-His name is Heart??? Oh that’s so cute.
-How is this episode still going? I feel like I’ve been watching for three years. I mean I’m enjoying it but also this show is kind of dragging in the first episode while the plot is being set up. I’m betting I don’t think this in the later episodes.
-Li has probably already treated Heart better than his parents just by saying that he’s using his deafness as an excuse and Li is actually seeing him as more of a person in that instance than Heart’s parents. That sounds bad the way I phrased it but I bet that Heart has been acting out since he became deaf and his parents just excuse everything he’s doing.
-And there’s the end of episode 1. I’m just gonna dive into episode 2. Actually I’m not. I’m gonna heat up some leftovers first I am hungry.
-Pizza squired. Now it’s no chicken rice but it is pretty damn good. Now episode 2. I genuinely have no idea what’s going to happen.
-Now what do I gotta do to get one of those aprons that says “hungry?” I need it.
-I am not a fan of this opening. Why does it end on a photo montage? Also I have thoughts on this song. It’s fine but I don’t think it’s a good opening song.
-WHERE HAVE I SEEN HER BEFORE? Oh she was in many things. But I recognize her from 55:15. I never finished that show. But she was my favorite character.
-Oh his nephew has a difficult relationship with him. Why is Jim raising him? What happened? Why does his nephew have an issue with Wen working there? I want these family dynamics and I want them now.
-These two are doing an excellent enemies to lovers. They did excellent with pining. Now they’re doing excellent here. My favorites.
-That apron also has a chicken in it. I need it.
-Heart and Li own my soul. They’re adorable. I’m glad Heart apologized.
-CAT. ITS BACK. It’s very obvious that both Earth and Mix know how to handle cats.
-What’s with GMMTV and pregnancy lately?
-To be fair, he bought those cigarettes before they knew she was pregnant. I’m not a fan of cigarettes but he definitely bought those before they knew of the pregnancy.
-I want that fruit. I need it. I would like to be eating that fruit right now.
-Did that boy just say America is affordable???? Not my America that’s for sure.
-Aw Heart has a a big ol crush on Li. I love them.
-Well I could have guessed and I did but Heart’s mom sucks.
-Those people on the motorcycle. Where are their helmets? Where were they driving? Into the wall? My bullshit meter is going off.
-There aren’t enough bats?? My guy the window is absolutely covered in bats.
-This beer sure is getting their money’s worth for product placement.
-ALMOST 40??? They really got Earth out here playing characters ten years older than his age. What’s with that.
-Jim saying he’s not fit to be anyone’s home while he’s busy being everyone’s home. Someone come take care of Jim too. Or at least help ease his burden.
-I don’t know what to make of this show. All I know is I want more Heart and Li.

Dangerous Romance Ep 7
Here we are again. Last week Kang spent the whole time being a jealous punk and every leg of the love triangle was brave and confessed. Everything culminated in Kang getting super jealous of Guy and Sailom and pulling him into the bathroom for a kiss.
Okay, see, this is a proper use of flashback.
I do respect that Kang does - welp never mind. I was just gonna say that I appreciate that he doesn't use the connected bathroom to bother Sailom but then he did. Although to be fair he didn't try to shove his way in when Sailom made it clear he didn't want him in the room, so I will give him a point back for that.
PINKIES.
Lol okay they got me with the delighted face Kang made when Sailom opened the door.
"Since when did you have feelings for me?" Yes, is the answer to that.
Well this is a cute little montage. Kang really is all in huh. Good for him.
All the snacks. And now I'm hungry, thanks for that.
Pfft "is he trying to poison us?" Not really his style friends.
Right. The integration of flashbacks is better but does it need to be quite this constant.
I guess they didn't completely ignore that Kang used to bully them, but I have to say I still wish it were given more weight. What he got up to wasn't garden variety bullying - he escalated into branding Sailom a pedophile, and getting actual firearms involved. You'd think someone would be madder about it.
Yeah you think you're joking Sailom but I guarantee you your brother is not.
Auto and Guy are not into this turn of events at all.
I don't blame them.
Sailom: Is genuinely decent.
Kanghan: wants to be near the boy he likes.
Well there are worse reasons to do a nice thing.
He's totally going to pass out.
"We are not down to earth, we are just dirt poor." - Auto spitting facts. I love him. Seriously though I'm just not as dignified as all these poor characters in these shows. Please throw your money at me. I will take it. I mean you can't buy me off but I will never say nay to having things a little easier.
Yeah okay all these people in one place surely this won't be a problem at all.
Guy and Nawa are gonna get drunk and make out, aren't they?
I like drunk Auto but I wish they'd stop playing the bullying off like it was this funny thing that happened once.
They're not gonna fight. They're gonna make out.
Or fight then make out.
Guy you moron. You deserve the regrets you're going to have later.
Okay maybe they won't make out. They might just pass out.
Hm. Are we finally going to get something serious with the dad? Because they always play this sinister music when he's onscreen and interacting with Kang and thus far he hasn't done anything but not really care. I mean that's not great, clearly Kang wants more than that, but I do not get this sinister ass music man.
It also doesn't jive with his dog training theory.
OH NO. Don't play that jaunty music show I see you. Whoever said Saifah was gonna rob this family was spot on. And yep, totally agree that he's been robbing his clients for ages. But Grandma is too savvy for you, Saifah.
And this is why I like Guy. I appreciate that he just does not tolerate unfairness, even if the unfairness is being directed at someone he doesn't even like much.
Still not liking the way they're treating the former bullying.
How? How has he - you know what, it's fine. This is fine. Sure why not. I am just going to go ahead and decide that it's less that Auto and Guy like Kang now and more that they support Sailom. I will give them that it's pretty obvious Kang is trying. There. That's all you get from me.
Oh NO. I do NOT trust you, Saifah. Not at all.

dia entirely forgot it was thungo thursday until mayoi reminded her and she dropped everything to watch the ep. here are all her thoughts, live-documented, in chronological order (apologies for this):
NOT RANPO CHILLING LIKE SHIT'S SWEET WHEN THE CAR HE WAS IN JUST FUCKING CRASHED LMAOOOOO
ranpo is so small next to minoura. he's so tiny and cute i just wanna cuddle him sm (and yes i am a little taller than him- height means nothing to me. we all know where the rest of his inches went YKNOW WHAT IM SAYIN YA FEEL ME)
'the police of this nation are idiots' yes minoura you're absolutely correct but consider this: the police of every nation on god's green earth are idiots
isn't it amazing how it was written in this magical reality-bending book that nobody would believe in the agency's innocence and in a couple minutes worth of running his mouth, ranpo just...undid it?? for like hundreds of police officers??? the sheer power of this man
god i forgot just how fucking fantastic this intro is. tbh this is probably my favourite intro of all of them. the colours and imagery and the chaos of it all MWAH (also kishow voice mm)
bones. was this panel too hard to animate properly?? did you read the fucking manga bones?? do you HATE US BONES??????
i could listen to ranpo talk for HOURS. literally hours, in a language i don't even speak, about anything he wanted, for hours, and i wouldn't get bored. his voice just...*kicks feet and giggles*
i missed you tecchou <3 please keep cooking for fukuchi. you're doing great sweaty xx
some loser: 'when do you suppose a life ends?' even bigger loser: 'when it becomes unable to adapt to change' fukuchi on his celestia ludenberg arc ok
IT'S BEEN LIKE ONE FUCKING WEEK AND THE UN IS ALREADY MAKING AN ANTI-TERRORIST GROUP??? THEY'RE FULLY READY TO FIND AND EXECUTE THE AGENCY MEMBERS IN UNDER A WEEK?? THE ICC LEGALLY CAN'T EVEN DETAIN CRIMINALS ON THEIR OWN IRL
i wish people reacted to seeing my posts on their dash the same way that the united nations reacted when fukuchi appeared onstage
congressmen will excuse mass shootings of gay ppl and then have shirtless fukuchi posters hanging above their beds where they half-heartedly fuck their wives and go to sleep before the thought of helping her also cum even crosses their mind
wait. *pauses and zooms in*. WAIT. YOU'RE TEL
YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT
TH
THAT ABRAHAM STOKER WAS THICC?????? THAT HE HAD A DUMPY???? THAT HE HAD SOME JUNK IN THAT TRUNK???? ALL THAT ASS INSIDE THOSE JEANS???? CURSE YOU FUKUCHI OUCHI FOR RIDDING THE WORLD OF BRAM'S CAKES
thinking about it, doesn't the decay of angels sound like a really cool name for an operatic metal band??
fukuchi: *enters room* ranpo: YOOOOOO STEPDAD GUESS WHO'S AN ENEMY OF STATE :DDDDDDD
fukuchi really is like 'you havent changed at all, boy' ranpo is literally eight years older than me. if he's a boy i'm primordial soup
fukuchi also said that ranpo's title of 'excellent detective' is self claimed. the thousands of people whose lives ranpo's probably saved must all be like 'say sike rn'
ranpo trusting fukuchi solely because the president said he trusts him. crying screaming throwing up ranpo GIVE ME ONE CHANCE (that's right guys we're back to this again)
fukuchi thinks he's hot shit cus he can jump high?? well my ocs can also do that fukuchi. sucks to be basic huh
IT'S NOT RANPO'S FAULT HE WAS BORN LATER AND THUS MET FUKUZAWA LATER??????? FUCK OFF FUKUCHI (also i love the way they're sitting they're all so silly mwehehehe)
omg ranpo also commented on the 'boy' thing lmaooo he and i are so good for each other <3 if only he'd give me a chance... </3
i wonder what portion of atsushi's budget goes towards emergency ramune. also imagine someone caring enough about you that they always keep one of your favourite snacks on you in case you get hungry or something. that's so cute i can't <3333
imagine coming up with a complex plan, twelve or so years in the making, to end the world, all because u asked ur friend out like thirty years ago and he said no T-T
fukuchi: *tilts neck* *minecraft skelly noise*
oh atsushi. i know other people won't like me saying this but you're so hot and i want to do the sex with you <3333333
wow bones. you've outdone yourself. this has to be the best fisheye yet- maybe even beating lucy's fisheye for how terrifying it is. i'm genuinely speechless
AKUTAGAWA
omg atsushi's speech on how loneliness is his biggest fear and how much he cares about his loved ones (kinnie moment), and the one thing he needs, truly needs right now is someone to fight alongside him to save all that he has to lose and the world as he knows it, and then akutagawa appears? soulmates. i mean it's not even like this is a surprise to me as someone who read the manga but, like, it's different when i'm watching it. soulmates. soulmates soulmates soulmates
