I know it's bad, bad, whatever this thing is but even as it is I find it incredibly fascinating. Of all the beings we have seen, besides the spider-toad, the island entity is a being whose origin is unknown.

I hope I'm not wrong, but I doubt that this entity appears in any Scandinavian folklore book. Still, I love how they present it.

The way he handles a contract or takes advantage of opportunities (like when he wanted to take Johana when she turned 10 after curing her of her illness) is what gives him that sense of danger for this adventure in question.

The ending of Hilda is hialrious actually.

Local science aunt menace who was exiled to a windmill and then later threw herself into purgatory, kidnapped a baby once, made a zombie, and almost killed an entire town twice creates teleportation technology over the course of one afternoon and then proceeds to immediately and willingly sell her soul to the queen of the fairies not twenty seconds after that.

It is implied that the fairy queen got the short end of the stick on that deal.

I think when it comes to being transgender some people hear it like a child going, "I want to be a fairy princess!" This being that fairies don't exist (that we know of.)

Except that they do. In video games, in stories, people even become professional mermaids and princesses for kid's birthdays.

It's not that you "can't", it's just people think the world should work a certain way. That instead of it having magic and making people happy, it should be gray without imagination, difference, or creativity. People want things they can understand, and when there is something they don't understand, then they get confused, angry, and hate that thing. When their dreams were never fulfilled because they lived by these rigid rules, and they see other people living happily, they want to take away and make them a bitter adult.
