Vi dying at the end would have been better than Jinx , in terms of story and narrative. Would I have died right along with her ? YES

Vi would assume her self sacrificial role that she always had and did , her protector role. ( self sacrifice was always a Vi thing she never outgrew it)

Vi saves her sister , proving at the end no matter what happens, she loves her sister in a grand portrayal of love and will always protect her a thing S2 didn’t highlight enough in Act 3 (cough cough the jail scene).

Vi gets to kill Warwick/ Vander , a plot point I felt she needed or deserved to get , a final goodbye to the past that she clung so hard to ( everyone kills their own parent , jinx and Silco , Mel and Ambessa, Vi and Vander)

Not having the suicidal character “die” at the end , having jinx step away so Vi can be “happy” with Caitlyn pushing the narrative that the only way Vi’s happy is if she abandons or doesn’t have anyone in her life other than Caitlyn to fall in love ???! Which is BS and not healthy at all.

what made you pay special attention to him? what made you fall for another? (physical, emotional, whatever)

okay so for a bit of context, my wuwa insert is a midnight ranger who originates from mingting, the capital of huanglong. i was a part of their military force before transferring to the midnight rangers in jinzhou. i quickly work my way up to be vanguard captain, all while jiyan is the general ofc :]

1. a relationship between leaders in our line of work is highly inappropriate, therefore, the attention i gave him was only ever professional. THEREFORE, we’re a slowburn. as vanguard captain, i constantly report to jiyan and (fortunately) work in close proximity with him which means i’m exposed to his breaks of character more often. 🥺 overtime, i begin to see my general in a new light for this exact reason. the first i felt my heart squeeze was when i saw a nurse bandaging a cut on his arm and he accidentally fell asleep for 3 seconds in his seat due to exhaustion. another time was when i was sparring with him and i was only able to get a hit in bc he purposely misstepped to avoid crushing a patch of flowers. they’re not groundbreaking but that definitely made me more curious about the softer side of him. i think that’s why i fall for him: because underneath his duties and obligations, he’s a very empathetic and selfless man. he also doesn’t shy away from being vulnerable. our trope is ‘i fell first, he fell harder’ and i think he’d fall for me bc 🥺 i think i could bring out the side of him that lets him relax and have fun, be a bit more selfish without guilt, the side that allows him to rely on others a bit more. he talks about his death a lot, but i’ll be there to remind him that people need him to stay alive too 🥺 he canonically has no clue where to go for entertainment in jinzhou so maybe he learns to enjoy the little pleasures in life again. he once did! but that was long ago…

(bonus: i have a personal hc that he’s not inexperienced with romance but he gets very awkward when he starts to pursue me lololl)

2. ermmm hmmm who made the first move? me unintentionally. him intentionally. like i said we’re slow burn so by the time we get together, many moves have already been made (we’re just blind to it or pretend to be). i won’t be outright flirty but i joke around with him when we’re comfortable enough and maybe this’ll lead to me unintentionally slipping a comment that sticks with him. perhaps i’ll half jokingly tell him i find it difficult to believe he’s not married because he possesses the demeanour of a devoted husband, which leaves jiyan thinking ‘what did she mean by that???’ for the rest of the day LOLL. and with him, he makes the first move by taking advantage of his general status. he stations me nearby his areas and maybe even decides to patrol with me even when he’s technically off the clock. if i get injured, he checks up on me personally even though we have a whole team of medics.

3. i’ll only be answering for our first kiss today bc everything else needs a bit more thought 👉👈 and this is already so long orz. so our first kiss was initiated by me and is actually what became the catalyst for finally becoming official. it’s dramatic as fuck too LMAO. okay so it happens when our troops are on an extremely high-risk mission which turns critical very fast. we end up separating from our units, so it’s just him and i until a final battle breaks out with the enemies. it’s a tough one. although we emerge victorious but only by the skin of our teeth bc jiyan pulled some sacrificial bs (without warning me beforehand) and it nearly cost him his life. so i drag him away from the carnage, and when we’re finally somewhere safe, i get on my knees and check his throat for a pulse. there’s a weak beat but i feel relieved. i cover up the deep gash on his side and call him reckless and many other string of curses (he isn’t usually reckless, im still shocked at what he did!). to my utter disbelie, jiyan finds the strength to tighten his arm around my waist and sluggishly pull me closer as i’m patching him up. i keep berating him but eventually i end up hovering over his chest. he tries to say something like “i’m sorry” or “it won’t happen again” but before i can stop myself, i’m already leaning down, my forehead is pressed against his and our lips brush jshsbsjdhdjdhdbdjdjdn you could say that was me telling him i’m thankful he’s still alive. and we allow ourselves to continue like that for only a short while bc he’s still injured as hell 💀 later, when he’s eventually all healed up, he tells me he remembers everything and we have a conversation about what happens next (spoiler: we date!)

I just watched the finale again and what was the idea of c!drunz killing the server and reviving the server again supposed to mean, was that whole saw trap scene staged? because how were they gonna gather everyone and kill them all, and then revive them till they got their simple peaceful family and life back and if is staged, why even say all that to c!clingy if they were sick of c!clingy fighting c!dream all the time and seeing him as the big bad. If its not staged, why is it something that they thought would work? I feel like I've misinterpreted it as like c!drunz gathering everyone around like they're sheep into a pen lmao. Another thing is, they wanted to test the heroic/sacrificial limbo but the way they phrase the conversation is as if the person that died is gonna die forever while the other person leaves to tell everyone what happened which makes me believe that part was also staged because lets say if c!tubbo stayed behind and died making the sacrifice, then they'd revive him, find out the limbo and then would they like kill him again? like what would they do, put him in prison, let him be free, treat him like vikk and lazar despite saying that they made a mistake with those experiments and revived and killed too many times.

And if the server is off balance by revives and kills why would they want to kill everyone on the server then revive again to begin with. I'm just a little confused on the plan and I think you were the blog that said that it was all staged iirc and I wanted your insight into it because oh man I am struggling here. I do get their plan isn't meant to make sense though I feel like I missed something which has made me more lost.

Hmmm asking all the good questions. Well I should say to start that while I do think we should look at what staged duo does and says with skepticism, after all these two have shown they are liars especially to clingy duo so there are a lot reasons to doubt them. On the other hand 1) technically it can’t really be staged because it wasn’t super planned out, clingy duo came and they were not expecting it. 2) It is the finale and the content creators would know this so they would try and give us at least some answers…

Anyways while their actual Plan remains unclear, though I have some theories and thoughts about it [here], there are things we can determine pretty reasonably are legit or not, because we know they tell both lies and truth. For example, we know they experimented with Lazar and Vik - so they do spill truth obviously. It’s just how to determine what is and wasn’t true.

The biggest thing I can say we probably can say pretty strongly is that that saw trap was such a load of bs. For starters, it wasn’t meant for clingy duo, and when I’m thinking about characters who are willing to be selfless and die a hero, that would be significant enough to Dream or Punz to do this, not a whole lot of options come to mind. I’ve talked about it [here] about who it could be for, but since then I’m starting to wonder if it was supposed to serve a different purpose entirely… anyways the other thing and perhaps most noteworthy is that staged duo doesn’t seem to give a damn about the trap one way or another. When Tommy shows up in the finale and says Tubbo is dead, Dream doesn’t believe him, double checking with Punz to make sure he checked [clip] (checked what? No freaking idea, limbo I guess or more likely to see if there was a body probably… I don’t know). So the fact that they seem to care so little about their experiment and clingy duo in general is telling to me. The other thing is that the variables that change limbo seem to me to be pretty minor differences, like I’m not even sure if there’s a way to replicate and make it back to the same limbo, if it matters both on how you die and what happens before. I mean multiple people have died to a sword or axe, presumably specifically Dream’s sword or axe, I mean how different is Tommy dying in the finale to him getting beat to death in the jail cell with a potato, I mean plus technically Ranboo’s death could be seen as selfless right? Dying for his son seems kinda selfless, (but they didn’t even go talk to him in limbo anyways, so do they really care about limbo that much?), therefore I don’t really think that point matters. Hell even if it did, I don’t see why they couldn’t test this on Vikk or Lazar (maybe that was their original plan?…). I mean it just sounds so stereotypically evil - especially the way he presents it, the way he says they couldn’t test it because they are evil [clip], and the fact that it aligns with the hero dynamic fueling Tommy’s ego and such. In other words, playing into his world view. And whenever they are doing that I’d say it’s a major red flag. So, the saw trap I think we can say pretty reasonably, based on what we do know is facetious, the question of what the room is for and who however remains up for speculation.

As far as them killing everyone, I don’t think this is true either. I mean for starters why not kill Tubbo and Tommy to start the process, why not kill Sapnap like he talked about to Foolish, while on his own. Like if the goal is to kill everybody why let someone go tell everyone to come after them. Killing Sam, Sapnap, Foolish, Quackity… etc is a lot easier than trying to kill then all teamed up together. And we know unless they have some super weapon that they aren’t confident enough to even kill them all as they said in the finale and here [clip]. So unless they plan on trapping them in the prison and nuking them, or summoning a freaking dragon, or teaming up with XD or something, I don’t think that’s a feasible plan and they may be very screwed up mentally but they aren’t stupid.

They also are all about the balance but yet have no issues bringing Tommy back after he gets murdered, and they seem just in general so calm to whatever unbalance of such is going on. I mean we do know to some extent that it’s truth, XD tells Foolish his lives are limited because he’s low on power and he needs more death to fuel him, and we know the book is directly connected to XD since in the prison podcast it summoned him. So the unbalance is pretty confirmed as true even if perhaps their ‘solution/plan’ may not be. All the best lies have truth in them.

Which brings us to more questions than answers. Why bring clingy duo to prison in the first place? What and or who was the saw trap actually for? What was the actual plan? And why monologue to clingy duo at all? To which I unfortunately have little satisfying answers, which trust me frustrates no one more than me ;). What I can say perhaps their reason for lying and putting on a show at all was that I think they planned on letting someone go and for some reason wanted them to tell the others. And I base this on two things - their utter nonchalance, the way they just don’t seem to even care about clingy beyond being infuriated by them murdering Dream, and just the absolute unhinged way they act at times. The villainous, “This is so cute. We shouldn’t interrupt them” [clip]. The way they talk about the saw trap/experiment - “we’re just too evil” and like Punz’s ominous “choose wisely” as they leave [clip].

I don’t know but a good portion of that monologue feels very - we were practicing our evil laughs backstage before we walked out here, ya know… ;D

I Can't Empathize with Via, and Never Will

I appreciate everyone's responses, but there isn't much room for "debate" for me. I was a preteen, specifically 10 years old when I went through what I went through, and as I told someone earlier. All I can do is roll my eyes at what Octavia is doing. I understand I run the risk of sounding like an ass when I say that, but this girl has every opportunity 10yo me didn't have. Many people continue to try and explain to me Octavia's psychology from differing perspectives, but genuinely ya'll're talkin' to a brick wall at this point because I understand why she acts the way she does, but to someone who has lived 90% of the trauma she is so casually claiming while never having experienced it first hand, I cannot help but roll my eyes when she complains. She has every opportunity within a month that took 6-7 years for me to have and she is actively denying it. I do not view it as her protecting her father. What I did was protecting my family. I took the brunt of all the BS, parentified myself, and fought tooth and nail to give my family a sense of security by borderline raising my siblings. That is sacrificial, that is the loving thing to do. That's the adult thing to do. Mind you I was only 10-12 when I did that. I was mature enough at the ripe age of 10. Octavia is 7 years older than I was and making the worst decisions possible.

My opinions all come from a respectful place, and usually I do not argue based on my emotions. Anyone who has lived on my blog knows that I usually bring screenshots, GIFs, transcripts, etc. However, today I just cannot keep defending my POV with facts, but by experience.

What Via is doing is the the most illogical thing to do any child of divorce would never do. It makes no logical sense and who knows maybe I'm to traumatized to wrap my head around it or maybe I'm thinking to much with my head, but this is a debate/discussion I have spent to long toiling over because I feel bad. I feel bad I can't empathize with Via. I feel bad that I sound like a cynical fuck for not agreeing with her. But I can't change how I feel. I can't change what I went through and how it effects me. I understand why Via is lashing out, but I can't help but see it as a petty attempt to hurt Stolas. That's how it reads and I'm so sorry no one can get through to me and fix this part of me. As usual, I really do appreciate everyone's support and the fact you all want me to understand, and while I can rationalize her behavior, I will never be able to empathize and I'm really sorry to let you all down in that regard.

I try to be a being of logic and fairness, but it seems this is the topic where my empathy is stretched to thin. There is just something wrong with me that isn't wrong with you all that I can't exactly fix.

The Octavia Dilemma (Vent/Rant Post)

I want to make it abundantly clear that this post is about myself and my feelings on Via. This does not reflect the greater fandom or all Stolas Stans.

This is a reflection of my feelings and my feelings alone. Do not utilize this post to generalize all Stolas Stans since many of them are going to agree with about 60% of my post and I'm fine with that.

Hello everyone! It is I, Amalthea, the Ultimate Stolas Kinnie and Stan, reporting to you live on a topic I was initially going to not talk about, but became more compelled to talk about since well- I didn't want to talk about Stella. (I'd rather not lol)

When it comes to Octavia and her rejecting Stolas I have very, very mixed feelings on the topic. While many of you may think she was right or wrong, I'm going to give you the perspective from a person who lived this stuff during my preteens.

I won't go into details, but my parental unit picked another person over my family. Parent A decided to pick Person C over Parent B and that will never not mess me up till this day.

When Parent A left, I was alone without the only thing I wanted, closure. I didn't understand why I was abandoned. I didn't understand how Parent A just thought I didn't matter anymore.

Parent B had to struggle and I just had to- watch morbidly as my world fell apart.

One of the things I absolutely can't agree with Octavia doing is walking away from Stolas when he came back to her.

She has this entire speech, victimizing herself solely(not faulting her for it, just stating it), and not asking the question why and that is where I will say the Hellaverse team failed. Kids of divorce always ask the question why. We seek a reason and yet Octavia just makes baseless accusations at Stolas that hold no water.

I mean your father, the man who has stood by your side, and loved on you for ages suddenly has an affair with a strange imp from his past and you don't even- think to ask why? Or let him explain?

Octavia willingly parentified herself to cope, which again as someone who is parentified, that makes no sense to me. Parentification happens when no one is around to help you or support you, but Octavia had her dad right fucking there. She rejected him, and seemingly can't understand he's depressed???

Again, I am speaking for myself, but this entire rant of hers makes no sense to me. She's seen him light up around Blitz, be more open (maybe to open), and be happier, but doesn't acknowledge it???

My issue, a reminder I am talking about myself , with Octavia is she makes everything solely about herself and asks no important questions about her father. I know she is a rich girl, but she is shown to be empathetic and kind overall, so it feels out of character she doesn't even- try to understand. Even if it's hard.

When Parent A came back into my life I begged for a reason why. Why the hell did you leave!? What did Person C have that I didn't!? Why did you raise their child you didn't birth but not me!? What did I do wrong!? What was so bad you left!?

None of these questions were asked, Octavia goes straight to making accusations which makes no sense. The fact she expected Blitz to die??? Like Loona wasn't going to be fatherless??? Like she's 17. Via is a bright and smart girl. Did she really look down on Blitz that much??? (genuine question, not tryna be a smart ass)

Octavia: You lied to me.

Stolas: What?

Octavia: *pushes Stolas away* You lied to me! You said you would never leave me! You promised!

Stolas: Via. I-I didn't leave you I-I- I would never, it wasn't my choice.

Octavia: It was your choice. You chose HIM!

I also think this whole scene is why Stolas made the choice he made. While he had an inclination he could die- he knew his privilege could possibly save him. It's why he was a bit confused and not sure of what was going to happen.

He was hanging onto the hope he'd not die. Afterwards the reality sets in as to what he had just done and what he truly lost. Stolas took a risk on a hunch.

The man had no choice. As a father, as a person, as a soulmate, he was in an impossible situation where he had to use his privilege. He had no other option or Loona would be fatherless.

Stolas: Via, no! I didn't I just- I had to. You don't understand.

Octavia: *clenches fist as magic forms* I do understand! I understand that we were never enough for you! You never loved mother, and you don't love me, you love him. *holds up happy pills* And you needed THESE! Was this my fault that you needed these?

Stolas: No! No, never Via! *grabs Octavia's hands* Sweetie, please. You have always been the only good thing in my life!

Octavia: So does that mean you just stayed miserable because of me? *tearing up* Was I some fucking obligation? Is that why you didn't even hesitate when you got a chance to leave?

This next part always pisses me off because Via's expectation of her father are so high. That he cannot have autonomy outside of their family. She is so attached at the hip to him that anytime he deviates from loving her entirely it is a slight against her.

Also the obligation part of that statement boils my blood, because girl- you don't even know what it is like to have your parent look at you and tell you to your face "you're just a responsibility to me". Because I lived that shit. I lived knowing Parent A didn't want me because I was just to much.

Stolas stayed and loved on this girl. He gave her the whole universe and more and somehow that isn't enough.

Of course I sympathize with the sentiment, but nothing in Stolas's behavior nor him being with Blitz suggests she was ever solely an obligation to him.

If Stolas truly viewed her as a responsibility he wouldn't show any concern for her. Parent A in my life acted distant and emotionally withdrawn. They didn't take care of me anymore, acting like a ghost of their former self. They took care of my most basiepc and fundamental needs while Octavia is borderline spoiled and-

FUCK why couldn't I have that!? She sits there and complains but her parent came back for her?! She had a chance at closure and denied it! What kid of divorce does that!? What person does that?!

I know I shouldn't have this much turmoil over this. I really shouldn't. If anything I should be sympathizing with her entirely. Theoretically I should hate Stolas, but I can't because I know what it's like to be guilted for choosing yourself! I know what it's like to be forced to feel bad for being depressed! It's why I love Stolas so much and understand him completely.

But when it comes to Via, the character who borderline mimics my trauma I just- can't fully empathize. I can rationalize her thinking and- understand where it may stem from, but it still leaves me aggravated and unsatisfied.

While I may be ranting and rambling at this point- I may just be projecting and it's why I said to not take this post as something to generalize the collective- but I am thoroughly dissatisfied with Octavia's writing.

So much of it tries to mimic divorce related trauma, but none of what she has been through would initiate such a response.

She hasn't been abandoned, her father is right there.

She isn't an obligation, all of her needs are met and she gets all she wants along with a nurturing environement.

She was enough for her father, he came back for her. If she wasn't enough he'd never come back.

All of the claims she makes are easily debunked with rational thinking and do not make sense when you have lived through divorce yourself. Again, I can be projecting, but FUCK I needed to vent about this.

It just feels like such a fickle iteration of what real divorce looks like for us.

Time to address this here.

Now to be clear, there’s not a whole lot seemingly wrong with this premise as initially described, 

Fair enough, everyone’s had moments where they make mistakes at some point. But as soon as we start getting into the alleged reasons, it becomes clear that these are being presented and framed in such a way as to deliberately make him look bad. Let’s get started.

Yes. Krillin tried to bribe his way into Roshi’s tutelage with porn. Absolutely true. However, the problem here is the assertion that Goku put in work to be accepted whereas Krillin did not. The truth of the matter is, Goku also had to do something to appeal to Roshi’s baser instincts. The difference is, Goku just doesn’t know that’s what it is. 

Roshi says that he’ll take on Goku as his pupil, but ONLY if Goku brings him a “hotty”. Which Goku actually fails at twice, once because he has no concept of what that term really means, and once because he brings... well, a mermaid.  But the fact is, even Krillin’s porn fails to get him in, as Roshi assigns the same task to both Krillin and Goku again, which is how we meet Launch.

Yes, Krillin was more willing to do whatever it took, but both had to fulfill this task to get in. Moving on...

This is... kind of valid yet not. I get why it seems this way on the surface, but at the same time, it ignores that Krillin recognized something Kami did as well; for one, the Androids actually didn’t attack them, but rather ignored them and tried to be on their way until Vegeta forced a conflict. They weren’t the mindless killing machines he’d been told about. Second, challenging them at that point would have been absolutely fruitless and foolish, as had been aptly demonstrated by the way Vegeta, Trunks, and Piccolo were dealt with as if they were nothing, and would have resulted in there being no one left standing to heal the others, to say nothing of informing them of the true motivations of the Androids. So really... it was actually far smarter to hang back and talk to them than to just be added to the pile of unconscious or dying bodies. But again, I do get the complaint at the surface level. This next entry, however... that’s where things get to silly levels of BS.

You’ve gotta be kidding me. They’re really playing the “he always dies” meme.

I mean firstly, he’s died a whole three times. Each time, it was a sacrificial death, either dying in an ambush meant for his friend while trying to protect a Dragon Ball, dying in combat, or sacrificing himself to try to save his family. Know who else has died three times? Goku. Vegeta. Piccolo. But for some reason, their deaths aren’t bemoaned like this. And the best part is they make no bones about implying he’s not useful... but then say no one’s holding these deaths against him.

I... genuinely have no idea how this makes him unlikable. If anything, it gives him an arc and, being honest? It’s a fairly relatable starting motivation for a lot of people. And then they go ahead and admit things changed so... no clue why it’s on a list like this, let alone so high on it.

... ... ...HE BROKE THINGS OFF WITH A WOMAN WHO WAS CONSTANTLY CHEATING ON HIM AND EVEN TRYING TO SEDUCE HIS CLOSE FRIENDS, HOW IN THE *HELL* DOES THAT MAKE *HIM* UNLIKABLE HERE? I mean my GOD that’s toxic. You can’t possibly miss the point harder than this. Or can you?

Yes. Yes you can. In this particular case, you can both miss what happened with Vegeta and Trunks as well as misread what Krillin was upset about. Vegeta and Trunks never bond in this arc. In fact, most all of it has been spent being callous and antagonistic to his son, even forcing his son to attack him in order to try to stop Cell. Vegeta only acknowledges and respects his son after that moment. Sweet indeed. The point of Krillin’s ire, however, was this.

Vegeta’s act of blind rage, rage he felt only because the son he finally respected was felled by an enemy, had wound up with Gohan seriously injured against a full-capacity Cell. Even VEGETA acknowledges he screwed up here too.

This is a pretty big misrepresentation of the situation. Krillin didn’t give Vegeta grief for mourning Trunks, but for his actions and what they resulted in. Grief Vegeta gave himself too.

...do I even need to explain this one?  The toxicity in this fandom and even the press covering the series in question is ridiculous. How on Earth does taking responsibility for your family and getting a job to provide for them make you unlikable? Look at how they treat Gohan for this too.

This one gets to me pretty badly as, frankly? It misses the entire point of this story arc, Krillin’s character arc, and... well, simple details about it. First and foremost, Goku WANTED to train with Krillin, reminisce about old times, and keep his reflexes sharp. It’s not like he got roped into doing this, or that Krillin dragged him along. He WANTED to spend time with his best friend. Get that right. Secondly, nothing about this required Goku’s help. Period. In fact, nothing Goku did COULD help. The Forest of Terror was looking inside Krillin’s mind, and testing him and him alone. Nothing Goku did or could have done influenced this. It was all Krillin having to confront his fear and learn to still himself and find his center in the face of said fear. And thirdly... this was not about the Tournament of Power. At all. In fact, when the ToP comes around, Krillin is more than ready, something Goku knows and tries to convince Gohan of.  I have no idea how in the heck they missed this, but it’s simply a symptom of a bigger issue. People simply cannot give Krillin his dues. Even when he improves, even when he trains to better himself, it’s somehow just wasting the time of whomever his partner is, which they could have used to make THEMSELVES stronger, right? Good grief.

...yep, that’s right. Krillin’s single-greatest act of kindness, his refusal to blame the victims, his stance against prejudice toward someone because of circumstances outside their control, or judging them for something they MIGHT do or did in a timeline where they were very different people? That’s just downright unlikable. I could sit here and write a whole essay on how even shutting down 18 wouldn’t guarantee victory. I could. But the truth of the matter is, they’re even taking issue with removing their self-destruct devices, which are dangerous to themselves AND others, and trying to give them a chance at having the lives stolen from them back. That’s... kind of messed up, CBR. Kind of really messed up.

Looks the Sages really are immortals endlessly amused and fascinated with humanity. wtf??? Successfully creepy transition omg.

Ensei's so happy to finally leave the desk job. And Ryuuren to the rescue? Ah the Seiran-Shuurei parallels. RIN-SAN COOLEST CHARACTER CONFIRMED!!! "mid-winter training ride with extra weight" LOL. Shuuei's shrewd forward looking! ENSEI BACK TO HIS BULLSHIT OF BREAKING THROUGH BORDER POINT LOOOOOL. What a dramatically cool entrance. SEIRAN GAVE HIM THE FANCY SWORD?!?!??! BRO. "I can't use swords," he complains while spinning it like a staff and handling it confidently.

The Imperial Army interpreted Shuurei's rejection of sending them out VERY positively. Fair enough, if Seiran had abandoned his official duties to come with Shuurei instead of sending the seal of imperial approval due to lack of trust / self-worth, of course Ensei would have vehemently disapproved. Holy shit Shuurei. Your insecurities and mommy issues are SO not resolved. Although such practical discussions are very mature of them both. The succession crisis and civil war haunting the narrative SO bad.

Episode 10: SHUUEI WHY ARE YOU BEING SO FANSERVICE-Y LATELY?!?!?! And hilariously rejected to deliver the Meaningful Gift to the Rival Love Interest.

The fucking two-sided Sacrificial plan and what it means to both of them trope. Shuurei's lack of self-worth and issues about medical treatment stemming from her mother and Sakujun! Ensei being asked because he's the Plot Mover and also does what Seiran can't. Ensei taking this conversation seriously because well this IS Sa Province. People dying / killing themselves for less important reasons is a far more common occurrence. I suspect Shuurei's Last Resort and Ensei's Last Resort would look very different. THE HAND AROUND HER NECK AS HE SAYS THAT TO MAKE HIS PROMISE REAL!!! Truly the Plot Mover and Role Filler, agreeing to the spirit of the request. "Seiran would probably just find an excuse and run away" LOL TRUE AND HE'S RIGHT FOR THAT.

Oh? Finally narrative consequences for Sage bs?? They're not the only ones with necromancy powers!!

Dealing with resistance to healthcare and prejudice towards the sick, even with miracle cures and explanations and 0 risk! Yay society and politics! The degrees of reluctance and considerations for consequences of every good and bad deed! And of course the sheer annoyance of cult-like beliefs and contempt for those affected. Everyone has a personal reason for their choices!! ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!!!! Rejecting the dissenting opinions only radicalizes them and enforces their appeal to emotion / biases, without having the authority to control them! The considerations on who gets deployed and what to focus for their medical training in emergencies!!! Especially for a taboo subject, for these sheltered noble young men. Theory vs Reality again! Are those who are good at embroidery aka women going to be the backup for the sutures?

Episode 11: Ah so poor Shuuei has to do the breakneck camping trip of hell TWICE in 6 months. And in winter too. THE REPEAT OF THE EPIC SCENE LOL FOR WHAT?!?! And in more detail?

Mob mentality and one trouble-stirrer making things worse. And heroine is the little girl! And is this symbolic representation of Shuurei accepting her grief over her mother, the civil war, and wishing that someone comforted her back then?

I KNEW IT!!! WOMEN WOULD DO THE SUTURES!!! Smart of Doctor You to teach the women in advance. YES!!! THE WOMEN, WIVES, SISTERS, AUNTS, AND DAUGHTERS, ARE ALSO VOICES OF REASON AND CAN BE PERSUADED FROM PREJUDICE!!!! And to be persuaded from prejudice, you need multiple voices, from multiple angles, threats, reasons, and appeals to emotion, and works best when it comes from one of your own. The men got rumors of sacrificial bloodshed to believe in, whereas the women got tangible goals to work towards, and an example of filial piety to inspire them. "It's worth paying taxes then!" LOL TRUE. What a respectful way to handle the situation and highlight the women's POV, from the sick, the fearful citizen, and the rescuer!! Ensei got his cool PVP moments but the narrative is truly framing the women as the heroes.

Episode 12: Proper medical prep!! Cleanliness procedures! The complexity of surgery and teaching for the students!! Bedside manners! Chromium?? And teaching the women how to suture too!! Weak stomachs of the sheltered men when compared to working women LOL. Yay doctors!!

Episode 1: Ryuuki waiting and dreaming is such role reversal of the usual romance male love interest! What do you mean, the maids are gossiping about how much SMARTER he's been? Actions beyond the governance? Shuuei's always running away? From what? Even at the Emperor's side? Shuuei and Ryuuki both dodging the questions LOL.

Seiran I do not understand how Shuurei's desire to help others relates to your childhood loneliness. Sure there's a link there about needing to be needed but that's your current mindset, not former. Also I cannot believe this is how I find out that the White noble clan is Haku not Hyou. He got told to go make more friends, touch some grass, and figure out what you want out of life now that he has a solid home and foundation and sorted out his backstory trauma (a bit).

oooooh drama about Kouyuu's place in the clan? Omg finally a competent and communicative person in this anime. Kurou gets right down to business!

There's no way Yuushun is that much taller than Rin. But Rin looking SNAPPY with that pose. The way these two keep looking at each other!

Oh Seiran knows archery too? Unfair. RAN LIQUOR TO GET OUT OF ATTENDING AHAHA. Seiran knows how to not look drunk after court and Sakujun. Shuuei huddled up in the chair to make sure Kouyuu doesn't drown in his own vomit. LOL THEY'RE SO DRUNK. I don't think this was what Shouka intended. Poor Shuuei didn't get a chance to drink, he had to look after these idiots. Rip Kouyuu honestly. Seiran slumped in a trashed kitchen with a water bucket over his head is ICONIC. Shuurei strong enough to fling a fully grown man into a wall. THE WATER BUCKET!!! Feminine rage in her eyes!! Rip Shouka he should have known better. Seiran at least has the excuse of being drunk and encouraged to share all his feelings. Literally chased out with a broom! OF COURSE YUUSHUN AND RIN ARRIVE AT THE WORST POSSIBLE MOMENT. True punishment is making Seiran be useful even when he's so drunk. Are women more influential in the Hong Clan, Shouka? Or is it just your family? And Yuushun with the uncomfortable reminder of where he's from!! But Shouka isn't the head of the clan? And how did he help in Sa province?

I'm sensing character arcs for Seiran, Kouyuu, Eigetsu, Shuuei, and Yuushun!

Episode 2: Is he implying that his family nearly ate him for food during the civil war. Sounds like Doushu was a bit toxically positive, even if he acknowledged the reality he lived in. From the palace? Gov exam, what for? He's already top of his gaokao. Side profile and only reflections of Ryuuki's face! Framing telling us that we don't get to see how he truly is anymore, only as the hardworking Emperor.

Kijin removed his mask for his friend's wife! As a test, or a show of trust for them? Kei seems amused and happy. WAIT HIS NAME IS YURI KEIJIROU??? Or the other way around? COME ON. Rin doing all the negotiating and heavy lifting!!! She's so cool. All the adult women in this series are so well written and given interesting roles.

Kurou's argument would be the right choice if they were in a more realistic setting. But since she's already proven that she doesn't need the family name to pass the national exam, earn her place, expose Official Sa, and deal with the Sa clan / Sakujun; I think Kurou is short-sighted here. And to boldly admit that Shuurei will rise above Kouyuu, is just showing that a trueborn daughter will always be worth more than an adopted waif of a son. And Kouyuu himself is proof that one doesn't need clan backing to get to where he is. That all he’s good for is supporting Shuurei’s career and aspirations. All this is a role reversal of the classic arranged marriage groom candidate. Literally he said "I hope you will consider yourself the most suitable husband for Shuurei". Also Ryuuren wtf??? I thought no romantic subplot between them. Unless it's a failsafe for the future. Or forced by the narrative for a "competitor". At least Kurou acknowledges all the advantages, and that no romantic love is necessary or expected, that they can partner just fine because they like each other. He’s trying to fix his brothers’ mistakes: fully cementing Kouyuu to the clan and clan leadership, and giving Shuurei the clan backing she never had as well as a secure, comfortable life regardless of what happens (look at the state of Shouka’s estate after Shoukun died.) Uncle Kurou is a bit stuck in his ways and unwilling to adjust his strategy, only tactics. He didn’t even ask Shuurei (though he did get her father’s approval). Honestly, he’s trying to do too much with one move. Kouyuu can either get fully adopted, or marry another Hong girl (Kurou’s children in fact). Shuurei can just start using the Hong name more / be more familiar. Reishin and Kurou could have a bonding time over mercilessly slicing Shuurei’s suitors to pieces. Truly Kurou is protecting Shouka from dealing with all of Shuurei’s marriage proposals and alliances / invitations. Which goes to highlight how Ryuuki has no one to do it for him. Ordinarily it would be Seian’s job. Kouyuu still missing the point but focused on gaining more family members and also on the realities of managing the in-laws and his real competitor, which is usually the role of the bride candidate. This boy just wants approval from his family, especially from a father figure. Absolutely amazing writing and I'm eating all of this up. Omg did they assign Shuurei to Reishin to force the uncle issue, and to let Kijin catch up with Yuushun? Rip Kouyuu he's having so many breakdowns about everything. And I'm enjoying Seiran and Shouka having to step up around the house / meals instead of relying on Shuurei. Yuushun laughing at Reishin's pain, truly they are best friends.

Wait I thought Doushu died when Eigetsu was young. Unless he recovered? What promise? Sage stuff? Or more magic? Lame on Kourin's part to not try to comfort Eigetsu.

i think mike might die in s5. it would explain why they set up that whole “he’s the heart” bs, without the heart it would shift to a much darker tone, it would also absolutely send will and el’s character development to new levels (creating emotions powerful enough to kill vecna) and it provides the duffers a loophole to avoid the mileven vs byler discourse since neither would be endgame each can believe their ship was the “real” one

it would also subvert expectation (smt they obviously like to do, implying that steve was gonna die then killing max who was believed to be ‘safe’ since she alr dealt with vecna) since el and will are the more self sacrificial ones with ties to the upside down

and finally tying back to season 1, mike jumped of a cliff for his friends. he did not know el was there. mike made peace with killing himself for his friends without a second thought, and there’s a good chance he’d do it again

CHOCOLATE SUPREMACY! Now, I pretty much exclusively eat high-end bittersweet/dark Fair Trade chocolate, although I can slum it with Lindt if I’m desperate but I really don't like giving money to companies unless they're Fair Trade. Bittersweet has always been the pinnacle for me.

As a kid, I was all about trading away the dumb sugary shit like Skittles, War Heads, Starburst, and Blow Pops, for more chocolate. The chocolate candies were ranked into a hierarchy…

TOP TIER, PREMIUM: Anything dark (Not common in Halloween candy but sometimes you could get lucky and get a Hershey’s Special Dark in a mixed bag, a Mounds Bar - for those outside of the US, Mounds is like Bounty but with dark chocolate, or someone cool would be giving away little Doves.) 

2nd Tier: Reese’s PB cups, Almond Joy (Bounty with Almonds), Junior Mints/Andes Mints, Skor Bars, Butterfinger and Kit Kats. 

3rd Tier: M&Ms (which could be bumped up to second tier if they were peanut butter M&Ms), Snickers, Nestle Crunch, Hershey Kisses and other plain chocolate that looked decent

4th Tier: Milky Way, Mars Bars, Twix and anything else heavily featuring caramel and nougat and bullshit that made it too sweet. Also off-brand chocolate like a random pumpkin-shaped thing.

5th Tier (LOSERVILLE): Tootsie Rolls, white chocolate (wouldn’t trade for this, but sometimes I was stuck with it)

Honorable mention: The few non-chocolate candies I would eat were things like Sour Patch Kids, Smarties (not the same as British Smarties, these were just sugar), Lemonheads, Fun Dip, Pixi Stix. This was like, the shit I would eat for energy on the night while I was trick-or-treating and would *sometimes* save/not trade away. Whatever I had of this would be eaten in conjunction with the 5th Tier Loserville "chocolate" and even sometimes the 4th Tier if there was a lot of it.

A full-size candy bar, as opposed to “fun sized” ones that people specifically bought for Halloween, would result in said chocolate moving up several tiers. 

In accordance with my “Save the Best for Last” policy, I would consume this candy in reverse-order. Starting with the random shit, then up through the tiers and saving the Top Tier candy for very last. 

The downside to this was that it left the premium stuff vulnerable to thievery (by my parents) for the longest. This problem was mitigated by keeping all the candy in my bedside table, and also giving a Sacrificial Offering to them every week or so as tax in exchange for keeping their mitts off my system. 

Halloween candy generally lasted until well past Valentine’s Day, when the chocolate coffers were replenished, and that in turn lasted until past Easter, which, if I was smart about it, could last until the following Halloween. 

I hope this Dickensian answer was as fun to read as it was to write. (Probably not, lmao.) This weekend, I went to a friend’s house party dressed as Wonder Woman, and tomorrow, I plan to take Dr. Fluffernutter into my morning lecture dressed as a pineapple. im adding the chapter name to the the title i think it is an important addition. i just wanted to give a quick update on what im working on so there are two requests im churning out rn and i am close to hitting 100 followers so i am planning on doing some type of 100 followers drabble, ficlet or smth like that event! okay without further ado let’s get into this chapter WARNING!! there will be SPOILERS AHEAD!! 

rin is giving me very ignored brother energy rn. the sae copycat behaviour is quite sad but i would love an explanation for why he is the way he is because this was quite comical to me and i was trying my best to contain myself bc i was reading this chapter in my photo class 

so basically the key to their success is practice makes perfect and itoshi rin’s awakening hmmm idk if i love it or hate it but it makes enough sense where i am not thinking wow what extreme plot armour so i am okay with it

10) How they deal with pain

For physical pain, Wash likely has pretty high endurance, same as the rest of the freelancers. Seeing as they’re spec ops, they were all probably trained to withstand torture; and given Wash’s long long long list of injuries that should have killed him, I think it’s safe to say Wash has had his fair share of physical pain and can take it just fine.

As for emotional pain:

Wash has taken a lot of emotional hits, enough to change his entire personality by the time Recovery One rolls around, but he never actually becomes that jaded, cold, hateful person he seems to be during Recollections.

Wash’s attitude reflects how safe he feels, but even at his most bitter and paranoid, he seeks company. Despite being backstabbed again and again by his previous teams and partners, he looks for companionship, even if that companionship is the walking corpse of his former best friend.

When Wash feels hurt, he generally keeps it to himself. He has the paitience of a Saint, which should be obvious seeing how he’s able to deal with both Tucker and Caboose in their no-Church emotional ruts despite being pricked at by Tucker’s pointed insults for the entirety of s11.

He puts those he cares about before himself, always. This is both a very kind trait of his, and a very dangerous one; he’s self deprecating and self sacrificial to the point where it’s literally putting his life in danger. (ex. Freckles Shake, offering to stay on Chorus while the R&Bs go home, taking brain damage to fix the R&Bs mistakes) The only way for him to get upset enough to express it is to doubt or betray his trust.

It’s why he and Epsilon still have such a tense relationship and why he’s so furious with Carolina for hiding his injury from him in s16. Wash’s trust is precious. It is not given easily, and it’s not broken lightly.

21) Their fondest childhood memory

All of them. Wash has a very complicated relationship with his memory for obvious reasons, and I think he spent a lot of time in Article 12 putting things back where they belong, trying to sort out which memories and thoughts were his and which were not.

As a result, every memory that Wash still has of who he used to be is very precious to him, and he clutches to each one tightly. Even the unpleasant ones are his, and that’s more important than anything.

24) What they wish they could change about themself

Wash thinks he’s a mess. I think the thing he dislikes most about himself is that his personality, motives, and headspace have been through the wringer — multiple times. It’s a lot to handle, and it’s probably why he feels like he needs to jump in front of every bullet for the people he cares about, who he values so much more than himself.

But I’m not sure he would want to change that about himself, because, at least in S17, Wash is at peace with who he is. He’s never going to be David again, and I don’t think he wants to.

First off thanks for the ask and oh now this I have things to say. She was one of my favorite characters but she ended up way overstaying her welcome she should have just got out of dodge the second she could after the ritual and not come back. She was such an interesting characters with one of the more interesting backstories honestly her backstory was one of the more well done things in the story. I do hate how people try to spin it in to her being the bad guy in Klaus and Elijah’s story when it was obviously the other way around like she just didn’t want to be a human sacrifice and like sorry she didn’t trust you after you lied to her to save her like so what if she manipulated some people like sorry she isn’t “perfect Elena” who sacrificial lamb routine was just annoying and did more harm most of the time. “I’m ok dying” well what about the other two sacrifices hmm.

Now on to more complicated issues the Stefan issue they really pulled that after they had here leave pursue a relationship with Elijah one she actually seems invested in build that up just so when he left the show and Nina obviously wasn’t going over there on top of tvd so that she can go back to mystic falls to poke around stefan because “she always loved him” and apparently stalking him dong nothing to help him for a century and a half till he found Elena and she could enact her revenge like what are we supposed to ignore the Elijah in the room. That without getting into the disgustingness that is Steferine the fact that the writers room thought that was ok just shows how little they understand consent or trauma I seriously do not understand how a room of adults can’t get the glaring consent issues in Stefan and Katherine’s relationships that unlike with Damon who she just used her charms on she actually compelled him trampling on any consent he could give in the relationship so she could feed on him and continue that relationship one that she didn’t care enough about anyway because if she did she wouldn’t have abused him at all let alone if she loved him.

The later Steferine stuff was only there to do the Doppelganger plot that honestly didn’t makes sense and felt like in contradicted canon of what was already established doppelgänger lore that Amaras doppelgänger line being the same one as tatias like it was so unnessacary and honestly it left more questions then answers and I could so rant about that more like honestly it either didn’t need to happen or they could have made someone else be that doppelgänger.

Sorry back to Katherine and Stefan that stuff also felt like they tried to make Damons trauma worse because WAAA she didn’t love him but she loved stefan even though the situation stefan in was already worse seeing how Katherine didn’t take Damons free will just played him(though he wasn’t really a good guy then anyway but) they then used the whole she picked stefan storyline to basically give Damon the “No one ever chooses me” trauma that they basically stole from Caroline for some reason to make Delena seem better like Elena and him getting together immediately after she dumps stefan is ok because well Katherine loved stefan and now Damon gets the girl or what ever bs. It makes no sense outside of I guess magic doppelgänger soulmate pull or what ever to even make them hooking up after what she did then they had stefan forgive her because he is ohh so nice or what ever and Damon can just continue o hating her or what ever the passenger nonsense like just let the girl die please. Then she pulls all that shit when in Elena like why aren’t you tired like I get your a survivor and all but come on.

Then after everything girls dead and she comes back as the end game villain and stefan who she abused in that was and manipulated and put through so much has to die on his wedding day and Damon gets to live like it especially annoying because they try to be like the people who died even if they are the “good guys” deserved to die so why did Damon get to survive wen stefan died just so he and Elena could get there happy ending when it either being both or Damon would have been more satisfying because Damon had such unresolved issues with Katherine and then stefan doesn’t have to go out taking out his abuser while Damon gets the revenge he deserves and the death they both do. Though I hate her as the end game villain or what ever it like why.
