lettice prestwich headcanons?
This might be biased because Lettice is my girl. She's wicked and spiteful and filled with comphet and I love her. Call her a projector the way she projects my insecurities. Lettice Prestwich has done Nothing Wrong Ever in her life <3
Lettice's secret was that she spent the previous summer in a psychiatric hospital, instead of finishing school like she said. Now when I read this I couldn't quite work out if Robin Stevens meant the summer a whole year before Jolly Foul Play, or if she had meant the immediate previous summer right before Jolly Foul Play. I choose to believe the latter because it fits with my version of canon :).
This of course meant that Lettice's secret must have been about the last to be discovered as they're all horrible right from the first term - Hazel mentions something along the lines of 'this year is different' at the start of her casebook, so Lettice must have been afraid of the leverage that Elizabeth had over her at that point.
I think, timewise, this makes the turn around of Elizabeth knowing her secret and then Lettice being cruel quite short, as she'd gotten home from the hospital over the summer and then immediately been in Elizabeth's cohorts.
As mentioned in my Enid headcannons, Lettice sort of takes her on as a project (sort of like in Emma)
- Life is fine for 14 year old Lettice Prestwich, brilliant even.
- she's got 2 parents who love her, the sweetest 4 year old brother, and good grades
- apart from she likes girls. oh god she can't stop looking at them, their lips and fingers and jawlines and legs. She feels sick sick sick and she thinks she deserves it. She deserves to feel sick. Nothing! Absolutely nothing, life is fine.
- she practically becomes third form's shining star overnight when they all find out she's going steady with a boy from Eton, son of a duke no less!
- and life is still fine! And Lettice truly does like it when he visits her for exeat, and holds her hand and kisses her. Just not for the reasons she should.
- There are no fireworks and there are no butterflies and there are no sparks. There is only the proof that she's desirable to boys, which fills her with a guilty delight that feels shameful in its origins.
- if Lettice tried hard enough, she can convince herself she's attracted to him.
- sometimes it's not even that hard, because after all, who doesn't like to be called beautiful, and be bought chocolates?
- to distract herself, she throws her energy into helping new girl Enid. She likes that Enid is a blank slate who doesn't know her, doesn't yet know she's popular because of a boy.
- it's now the summer after fourth form, and the duke's son wants to go further with her.
- they're in her garden, but far from prying eyes, and they're kissing like they usually do. It isn't so bad if Lettice closes her eyes.
- One of his fingers slip under the blouse and then he leans back, a silent question on his face.
- Lettice nods. She can't think of a good reason to not let him do it. 'just get it over with' she thinks. 'you might even like it'
-She's not even scared of him, he's such a gentleman he'd stop the moment she'd even thought the word no. And that makes her guilt rise like bile in her throat. Any other girl would kill to be unchaperoned in a garden with a duke's son, his hand up their shirt, whispering how gorgeous they are.
- the night after it happens, Lettice can't sleep and goes to her window and spies a shooting star
- "I wish he'd just go away. Please."
- a couple of weeks later, news reaches her that he'd been killed in a car crash.
- and the world crashes around Lettice. Her first thought is her dreams for the future, how she'd settled and accepted a life with the duke's son, marriage and children and a house now gone, and then she feels a deep shame. How could she think that, when his body is lying cold in a morgue?
- Lettice is convinced it's her fault. How could it not be, she wished him gone and now he is and she's dealing with the consequences. She half believes she's the devil incarnate, she thinks she's evil and wicked.
- She despises herself, and when she looks in a mirror, she wants to and thinks she deserves to waste away.
- her appetite is gone anyway because she is also grieving. Archibald, that was his name, even though he hated it and everyone called him Archie, was first and foremost her friend. He'd made her laugh.
- the entirety of fifth form passes in a blur, not even Enid can reach her. And her parents grow worried, so worried about her.
- Lettice doesn't even realise how bad everything's gotten until her brother, now about 6, refuses to greet her because "that's not Lettice, mummy, that girl looks like a ghost..."
- she agrees to go to the psychiatric hospital for the summer before sixth form, just to stop her brother crying, though she thinks she doesn't deserve saving.
- she pens a note to Enid, because she trusts her and they're friends.
- it doesn't really help, but as absence makes the heart grow fonder, she's glad to be back with her family, and maybe even just a little excited to be back at school with Enid.
- the very first day back, Elizabeth grabs her wrist, pulls her close and says "How was finishing school, Prestwich?" in a tone that tells Lettice that Elizabeth absolutely knew where she was.
- her heart freezes. "What do you want, Hurst?" Lettice has always been a bit unsure about her, but Enid somehow was pulled into her circle so she never questioned her. There's something almost dangerous in her eyes now though. Possessive.
- the events of Jolly Foul Play happen, and Lettice cries out of relief nearly every night for 2 weeks after.
- as for after Deepdean, she doesn't break through the comphet. She meets a nice man, and after years of miscarriages, finally has a daughter, Pearl.
- she keeps in contact with Margaret and Astrid who make her feel ok about being lesbian.
- she visits Enid sometimes, but Enid never tells Lettice it was her that told Elizabeth about the her stay at the hospital
- Lettice's husband runs off with a French woman he'd met on the front lines, and she couldn't be happier. Pearl is too young to remember him, and Lettice thinks good riddance.
- when Pearl is older, she starts to attend Deepdean, though only as a dayboader, her mother wouldn't allow otherwise.
- Una is now headmistress there, and when she smiles at her, Lettice thinks she can learn to love again.
Also just quickly because I didn't know where to fit in, Lettice absolutely was IN LOVE with King Henry

Bianca: Let me get this straight...
Yoko, with widest grin: Girl, there's nothing straight about this situation! *She holds a child, resembling miniature Wednesday*
Bianca: Right... So, Wednesday was casually playing god and now you have a child.
Enid, noticeably disheveled and with eyebags: Yep, that's pretty much it. I believe that's my karma, for teasing Wednesday about having children.
Bianca: *Raises an eyebrow* She wants to have children?
Enid: Nooo. Idea terrifies her... In a bad way.
Bianca: Interesting...
Yoko: Do you want uppies? *starts throwing child up and catching it, while they deadstare back*
Bianca: So what, is it her clone or something.
Enid, barely not falling asleep: Wednesday called it "Homunculus"... I don't know, it's basically is. Just more accident prone.
*Loud crack of wood interrupts conversation. Bianca and Enid turn, to see Yoko with terrifyed face looking up. There's a hole in the celling, with child's feets hanging from it*
Enid: Hema! Don't worry baby, mama's coming! *Runs out the room and up the stairs*
Yoko: *Runs after her as fast*
Bianca: *Observes hole in the celling* This ought to be interesting.

Words: 4,692 Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader Reader pronouns: she/her Era: War with the Saviors, specifically TWD S8 E13 after the battle at Hilltop Warnings: fear and anxiety, language, angst alert! Summary: You took an arrow to the shoulder during the battle at Hilltop and when the injured are sickened and turn, Daryl realizes his worst fear is going to come to pass.
“What the hell happened!?” Daryl spat, looking around at the now still corpses in the main entryway.
“I dunno,” Rick growled, spinning. “Maybe walkers got in?”
“Maybe during the fight,” Morgan echoed.
Daryl scrutinized the bodies. “These—these are all our own people though…”
Suddenly, there was a scream from upstairs and they raced up to find Carol standing over Tobin’s now silent body, blood dripping from the end of her knife.
“Are ya alrigh’?” Daryl asked, surveying the scene. Rick and Maggie stepped in beside him.
“Yeah,” gasped Carol. Her eyes were fixed on Tobin’s body. “He—he wasn’t bit. But he turned.”
They all exchanged tense and confused glances until Rick spoke. “Negan’s bat… when I was out there with him, it was covered in walker blood. I just thought he’d crossed some but… maybe…”
“They have us workin’ for them again,” Maggie said. “Killin’ our own.”
“Poisoned weapons with walker blood?” Carol said. “It’s some sick biological warfare.” Her eyes drifted back down to Tobin’s pale body on the floor and her heart ached.
Daryl didn’t say another word and abruptly left the room, his boot steps receding rapidly down the hall.
“Daryl?” Carol called after him, moving to the doorway.
Rick hung his head and passed a hand over his eyes. Maggie put a hand on Carol’s shoulder. “It’s—” Her throat was tight and she had to clear it before she could get more out. “It’s Y/N,” she said quietly. “She took an arrow in the back of her shoulder.”
Carol’s hand flew to her mouth. “Oh, God…” Her wide eyes met Maggie’s and stung with tears.
Rick rubbed a hand over his face and paced a tight circle. “And Tara too. And who knows,” he kicked out at the nearby dresser, “how many others.” He fell to cursing Negan, though he knew it wouldn’t help.
_ _ _ _ _ _
Daryl lingered at the closed door for a long moment, staring at the wood, his hand moving to grip the door knob a couple times before falling down to his side. Finally, he grasped it and turned, pushing into the room.
You were asleep in the bed and Enid was sitting beside you. At the expression on her face, his stomach dropped through the floor. She looked worried, and had apparently been studying you. She shot up to her feet as Daryl softly closed the door behind him and stood there looking grim.
“What was all that shouting?” Enid asked.
Daryl gulped, his eyes fixed on you in the bed. “How is she?”
Enid hesitated and then returned to your side. She shook her head. “Her wound wasn’t life-threatening. But—”
“But what?” Daryl urged her to go on.
Enid looked down at your face again. “She looks pale and—I don’t know. Her breathing changed.” She glanced back up at Daryl, her brow furrowed. “What’s going on?”
Daryl hesitated for one moment and then walked over to your bedside and scrutinized your face. You indeed looked ashen, and there were small beads of sweat starting to form near your hairline. His stomach churned. He met Enid’s questioning gaze and chewed on his bottom lip for a moment, trying to gain control of the wild emotions threatening to crush him at that moment. “We think The Saviors did somethin’ to their weapons. Ev’rybody that got wounded last night turned.”
Enid’s eyes went back to you asleep in the bed. “No,” she breathed with horror. “Oh my God.”
Daryl nodded, biting the inside of his cheek hard enough that the tang of copper filled his mouth. “Yeah…” He cleared his throat and did his best to appear steadfast. “Ya should go check on Tara.” His eyes strayed back to you again. “I’ve got this…”
Enid nodded, and with one final look at you and one anxious glance at Daryl, she quietly left the room.
Daryl stood at the end of the bed for a moment, watching the subtle rising and falling of the blanket over your chest. He thought it did seem a bit shallow. He slowly wandered over to the bedside and drew the chair closer, sinking down on it heavily and leaning forward with his elbows on his knees and his hands clasped in front of his face. His brow tensed. The rising panic was returning. Your hand was lying on top of the quilt and his eyes traced the graceful curve of your fingers.
Part of him wanted to wake you, to see your eyes open and hopefully, clear. But another part of him knew he should let you sleep while you could.
It was short-lived.
Your breathing became shallower and more rapid and the clamminess of your skin increased. You stirred beneath the blanket and pushed it off, your eyes opening and a grimace passing over your face as you stared up at the ceiling.
Daryl leaned forward and you turned when you noticed him beside you, managing a tired smile. “Daryl,” you said softly, looking up at him. The corners of your eyes still crinkled even though the smile was a bit weak.
He chewed on his bottom lip. His anxiety was plain. Deep furrows were evident between his brows.
It didn’t take you long to remark on your condition on your own. You lifted a hand to wipe at the sweat on your forehead and then a shiver ran through you. He saw it clearly and tugged the blanket back up over you. “I’m sick,” you said. It was almost a question and then your eyes found his again. He saw mild confusion in them. “Daryl,” you said again. He looked so grim standing beside you. He held your eyes for only a brief moment before he felt the bubble of emotion rising up his throat and threatening to burst and he had to squeeze them shut. “What’s happened?” you asked. You reached for his hand, which was dangling at his side, and his eyes shot open again and looked at your fingertips touching his softly. He took your hand in his gently and warmed your fingers. Then his blue eyes found your ashen face again.
He felt like someone had rammed an icy blade up between his lungs and into his heart. He fought with emotion again and struggled to clear his throat enough to speak. Your eyes flickered between his, worried and puzzled. He opened his mouth to speak but then ducked his head one more time, passing his free hand over his eyes and drawing in a shaky breath. “They—the Saviors,” he started, his voice a mere whisper, “they did somethin’ to their weapons.” He swallowed down the tightness in his chest with great effort. “Ev’rybody who got hurt in the fight is either sick or—or already turned.” He waited for your reaction and forgot to breathe.
Understanding washed over your face and your expression fell, but you simply nodded. You seemed to shrink away into some depths within your eyes and Daryl was afraid he wouldn’t be able to reach you again. He fell into the seat at your bedside again and squeezed your hand. What could he say? There was nothing to say. No words would help at a time like this. You were going to die. It was that simple. And nothing he could say would fix it or make it any better. Your name caught in his throat and you looked over at him again. “I—‘m so sorry,” he said. His voice broke and the sound of it cut both of you like a scalpel. You were both wounded from this happening, and you would die, but Daryl would be left carrying that wound for the rest of his life. Why did you have to be the one to… Why couldn’t it have been him who was hurt? You of all people—it was too hard to bear. He should have been there. He should have protected you. He should have stopped it!
Your eyes grew glassy and a few tears escaped. You laced your fingers with his and gave him a sad smile, guessing his whirling thoughts. “It’s not your fault,” you told him. “They did this. It’s not your fault.”
He felt himself crumbling. “‘M so sorry,” he breathed again. He clasped your hand firmly between his and lifted it towards his mouth, but he didn’t press it to his lips, though he wanted to. His head dropped and you could tell he was struggling not to go to pieces. He was always trying to be strong, even when he didn’t need to.
“It’s okay,” you breathed. “It’s okay…”
“No, it ain’t,” he whispered back. His voice was shaky. “Nothin’ ‘bout this is okay. That bastard’s gonna pay for—”
A grimace tightened your features and your breath hitched. The sound stopped Daryl mid-sentence. He rested your hand back down on the blanket and a panicked look crossed his face. “What? What is it?”
Your eyes closed for a moment. “Nothing,” you said, shaking your head against the pillow. “It’s nothing. Just—hurts a little. Aches is all. It’s okay. I’m okay…”
Daryl gulped down his emotion and regained himself. “‘M gonna be righ’ here. Ya ain’t gonna be alone. Okay?” His thumb moved against the silky skin on the back of your hand and you nodded.
“I know,” you said, managing another weak smile.
Suddenly, the door opened quietly and Enid came back in with Maggie trailing behind her. Both of you looked up.
Enid’s face fell as she readily saw your worsened condition. Maggie’s eyes filled with a glassy light as she came to stand beside Daryl.
“How’s Tara?” Daryl asked.
“She’s not sick,” Enid replied. “No sign of the fever yet.”
“Good,” Daryl said, staring back at the paleness of your hand in his.
“But we’ve got six more so far in here, and likely more outside. I sent Carol and Jesus to check on everyone, including the prisoners,” Maggie said. She bent down and stroked your hair. Her eyes filled with tears again. “‘M so sorry,” she whispered to you. “Do ya need anythin’? Anything we can do to make you more comfortable, just ask and we’ll do everything we can.”
Daryl’s head dropped and his eyes squeezed shut. “I’ll—‘m gonna be righ’ back,” he murmured. He met your eyes again. Your brow was furrowed and you were watching him carefully. “‘M gonna be back in just a minute. I promise,” he said softly.
The chair made a harsh noise as he stood up and your eyes tracked him all the way out the door.
Out in the hall, Daryl put some distance between himself and your room, striding down to the end of the hall and standing at the window, staring out at the beginnings of dawn just starting to tickle the deep blue sky with shots of pink and yellow. His fists clenched and his nails cut in little red crescent moon marks on his palms. How the fuck was the sun still coming up when you were laying in a bed dying? It felt like nothing should go on as normal ever again. He suddenly kicked out at the tall wooden cabinet beside him and it rocked and wobbled. And then he broke down. His head dropped and it was all he could do not to scream in agony at the painful chasm in his chest, sticking between his lungs and growing larger and larger as you paled and ached in that bed. Tears poured down his face and he pressed his forehead to the coolness of the glass in front of him.
He startled as a hand landed lightly on his shoulder and he hurriedly mopped his face, but when he turned he knew Maggie had already seen his overwhelming distress and grief. His shoulders shuddered as he gasped in a ragged breath and he shook his head. He saw his own pain, or some version of it, reflected on her face, and he thought of Glenn.
She only nodded and pulled him into a hug briefly. He sniffled and managed to get his breaking under control again. “Go on and be with her again. Enid and I will look after the others. Listen—when it’s time to say goodbye—”
He nodded. “I’ll send somebody to get ya’ll,” he croaked out. He mopped at his damp face again and pulled in a breath.
“Daryl, if you haven’t already, you need to tell her,” Maggie said. And with that, she headed downstairs.
Daryl took a few more deep breaths, steeled himself, and rushed back to your room. Enid gave you a kind smile and released her hold on your hand and quietly took her leave. Daryl swallowed hard and came to sit beside you again. Your eyes followed him across the room.
Your skin was feverish and he could see it making your hair and clothes damp. Had those dark circles been beneath your eyes when he’d stepped out? How long was he gone? How many minutes? It couldn’t have been more than a few, and yet you looked far worse… He got up and went to a pitcher and basin on the chest of drawers and poured in some water. Pulling out the bandana he always carried, he dunked it into the bowl and carried the whole thing over to the nightstand.
You watched him swirl the cloth in the water and wring it out. He pressed it to your forehead and it was cool. Your eyes were still trained on him. He knew you’d likely be able to tell why he’d stepped out of the room. “Here. Drink a little water if ya can,” he said, helping you with a glass Enid had brought.
You swallowed thickly and he set it aside again. “Are you alright?” you asked him. Your voice sounded thin.
He let out a dry laugh as he refreshed his bandana in the water again and dabbed at your neck. “Yer askin’ me that?” he drawled.
“Daryl,” you said softly, and your hand came up to grip his wrist, surprisingly strong. He met your eyes again and yours flickered between his.
He bit down on his bottom lip hard, trying to fight back the tidal wave and scream in his chest. Tears stung his eyes as he looked at you. Your hand floated back to the bed and the place your fingers had been felt hot. He shook his head almost imperceptibly. “No,” he said. “I ain’t alrigh’. And I dunno if I’ll—if I will be.”
A shiver ran through you and Daryl tossed his bandana back down in the bowl and helped you pull the blankets up to your chin. You sighed and your eyes shut for a long moment. Daryl was afraid they wouldn’t open again, but they did. And when you looked straight at him, they seemed clearer somehow, and you smiled at him again despite the devastation written all over his face.
“What’re you smilin’ ‘bout?” he asked. There was a rasp to his voice.
“You,” you breathed. “Just you.”
He ducked his head, listening to each of your breaths, analyzing them for any change. He was far too aware of his knife on his hip.
“I need you to promise me something,” you said.
“Anythin’,” he nodded, leaning in.
“Don’t let this consume you. Please. Negan’s taken enough. Don’t end up one of the casualties too. You have so much good in you. Don’t let him take that away.”
He stared at you for a long moment and then suddenly stood up and leaned over you. His rough fingers brushed gently at your hair and then clasped your face. In that moment, maybe some trick of the changing light, but he thought you looked less ashen. He saw more color in your lips and in your cheeks. Your eyes were bright.
He kissed you then. His lips landed flush against the soft pillow of yours, and it was tender and wanting and desperate and soft all at the same time. He tried to put everything he wanted to say into that kiss. It lasted only a few seconds, but both of you mourned the separation, felt the profoundness of that connection as it had shifted your whole world. He sank back down at your bedside and grabbed your hand in his again, chewing on his bottom lip nervously. He refused to take his eyes off you now.
A smile grew slowly on your face and though your eyelids were heavy, the outer corners of your eyes smiled too, like they always did. “How’d you know that was on my bucket list? ‘Kiss Daryl Dixon.’”
He brushed your cheek with the back of his fingers and shook his head at you.
“I can die happy now,” you said.
“I shoulda told ya every damn day… I thought—I thought we had more time.” His voice broke on the last word.
“So did I,” you agreed. “Life’s a motherfucker like that,” you said dryly.
He almost laughed. “What ‘m tryin’ to say is I—ya know, I—” The words stuck in his chest. He couldn’t seem to get them out no matter how much he wanted to. I’ve been in love with you almost since I met ya.
“I know,” you breathed. “You didn’t have to say it, Daryl. I felt it too.” Your eyes closed again and you sighed, another grimace passed your face as your joints and muscles throbbed. “I’m not sure I can stay awake much longer,” you murmured. “I’m so tired.” You forced your eyes open again. “Would you lay with me? Please?”
Daryl’s chest ached so intensely he thought he would die of it. “Course I will.”
He came around to the other side of the bed and climbed on, scooting over toward your side until your body was almost against his. “C’mere,” he drawled, and he gently looped his arm underneath you and pulled you toward him. You felt featherlight in his arms. You laid tucked in against his body and closed your eyes. This close to you, he could easily hear your every breath, feel every shudder of your body, feel the fever and the chills—but he could also feel the shape of you, your weight, breathe your smell. Your head rested against his shoulder and nuzzled toward the crook of his neck.
“I’m so tired,” you said again, sighing. He could feel your breath on his skin. The silence stretched and his rough fingers drew absent shapes on the bare skin of your arm. Your weight grew heavier against him. “I want you to know… it’s alright if you can’t do it. At the end… It doesn’t have to be you. I need you to know that it’s okay if you can’t. Someone else can…” you trailed off.
He gulped and nodded. “I’mma be righ’ here.”
“I know,” you whispered. Your eyes were closed. “I love you…”
He pressed a kiss to your hair. “I love ya too...” His voice broke, but you didn’t hear it. You were already asleep.
He didn’t know how long he had laid there with you. He was still scrutinizing your every breath and every moment, waiting for the horrific change to take place, or waiting for you to awake in agony as the sickness progressed. But so far, you just slept on. He didn’t dare move. He didn’t want to, anyway.
Eventually, the door creaked open and Rick stepped in barely over the threshold before he froze, seeing Daryl there with you on the bed. They locked eyes for a moment, Rick’s eyes grew glassy and he gave a nod, but then he immediately retreated. No one should intrude on that scene. And he made sure no one would, unless they were called for.
_ _ _ _ _ _
Daryl was staring at the bright sunlight streaming in through the sheer curtains. He had no concept of time as he lay there with you asleep against him. Every moment felt agonizingly long and cruelly short at the same time. He was watching the dust particles floating in the currents of air when you stirred. Your hand landed flush to the center of his chest and you turned on your side almost curling into him. He gently took your hand in his and ran his thumb over your soft skin.
Your stirred again and let out a sigh, stretching beside him. Your eyes blinked open. “Daryl…” you said suddenly.
He squeezed your hand gently. “Yeah. ‘M righ’ here.”
“I—I know.” You pushed yourself up on the palm of your hand, still angled in toward him. “Daryl, look at me.”
He did. Your eyes were wide and surprised, but beyond that you looked… like yourself. The color was back in your face, in your lips. Your eyes were bright and clear. You looked well. Your name slipped past his lips.
“I’m not sick,” you said with disbelief. “I don’t feel—I mean, my bones felt like glass before. And—I’m not hot or cold. I—”
Daryl was sitting up now too, staring at you bewildered. He clasped your face and pressed his hand to your forehead. You didn’t feel feverish. Your skin wasn’t clammy. “Ya ain’t sick…” he drawled, the same disbelief dripping from every word. “Ya ain’t—” A laugh bubbled out of you as he popped up onto his knees, kneeling in front of you on the bed, staring with bafflement. “How—how?”
You shook your head. “I—I don’t know…” you stammered, your heart racing. “I felt—I was dying. I felt it. And now—I still feel like I got hit by a truck, and my shoulder hurts like a bitch but—I’m not sick.”
Daryl took your face in both of his hands and his lips crashed down onto yours. You arched into him and kissed him back, relishing the feeling of his hands drifting down to your waist and gently pressing on your lower back to pull you in against him. He still looked dumbfounded when the two of you broke apart, but you couldn’t stop smiling.
“I gotta—we gotta—” Daryl vaulted himself off the bed, leaving you kneeling in the middle of it, surrounded by the rumpled blankets. He ripped the door open and shouted out into the hallway. “Maggie! Enid!” He turned back to stare at you, his chest heaving as he seemed to have lost his breath. A stampede of footsteps answered and soon Enid, Maggie, Rosita, Rick, Michonne, Carol—even Tara—were bursting in looking grim and worried. Seeing their expressions, Daryl realized they all thought it was time to say goodbye to you. He hurried to correct their assumption. “She—she ain’t sick. Look! Her fever’s gone and she—she ain’t sick anymore.”
All eyes drifted to you sitting upright on the bed, almost looking as if nothing had happened to you at all.
Enid stepped forward, shock written on her face, and you could only smile as she reached a hand out and pressed the back of it to your forehead. She snapped around to look at everyone else again, a teary smile on her face. “She doesn’t have a fever,” she said, shaking her head.
A whoop went up through the room and soon nearly everyone was hugging you and kissing your cheek, patting you on the back as if you’d done anything at all consciously. But Daryl simply stood by the door, leaned up against the wall watching the scene with a teary smile on his face that wasn’t budging. As the last of your family hugged you, your eyes connected with his again and you felt a shock of electricity run up your back and butterflies erupted in your chest.
“I—I don’t understand how this is possible!” Carol laughed happily.
Rick was shaking his head, smiling.
“Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?” Rosita asked. “I mean, should we still be worried?”
Enid shrugged and shook her head, looking at a loss. “Well, it’s not the same as a bite. It seems like maybe her body was able to fight off the infection.”
Rick rubbed a thoughtful hand over his face. “Maybe it’s like how some people get sick from gutting up the first time, some people the twentieth, and some people never do.”
“Some combination of immune system and dosage maybe,” Maggie said thoughtfully, her eyes still glassy with happy tears.
“Well, whatever it is, thank God. We needed another win,” Michonne said.
Enid nodded and looked back at you on the bed. Daryl was still leaned up against the wall by the door. He couldn’t take his eyes off you. “She may not have a fever anymore but I don’t want to push it. Back in bed,” she said, grabbing hold of the blankets again. “I want you to rest. Your body has been through a lot.”
You moved a little gingerly laying down again, realizing now that your shoulder that had taken the poisoned arrow did still hurt a lot. “I’ll rest… feels like I’m still trying to shake the worse flu of my life.” Exhaustion was settling back over you again. The adrenaline had waned. But your cheeks and lips still had a healthy, rosy glow.
Enid filled the glass on the nightstand with fresh water again for you and instructed everyone to leave so you could sleep. Everyone listened, except Daryl. And somehow, everyone knew he was the exception.
He shut the door softly behind Tara as she went out and the two of you were alone again. He wandered back over to the bedside and you looked up at him through your lashes, your eyes growing tired again.
“Are you still going to keep watch over me?” you asked him.
He nodded. “Mhm… now and every damn day of yer life. If you’ll have me that is…” he said a little abashedly, ducking his head. “Actually, ‘m gonna do that whether ya want me to or not.”
You smiled. “Can you do that from in this bed again? Please?”
“Are ya kiddin’?” He climbed in beside you again and you rolled toward him, tucking yourself into his body. Your breathing was strong and steady; no sign of the ragged, shallow respiration that had plagued you overnight.
“You want to know what I think saved me?” you asked, resting your head on his chest, your arm draped over him.
“Hmm?” he hummed, now feeling his own exhaustion settle over him like a heavy blanket. Now that the terror and devastation and fear and grief had receded, he was drained.
“I think you cured me. With that kiss,” you said, and he could hear a smile in your voice. “Love saved us. The universe decided it couldn’t separate us.”
Daryl let out an amused exhale. “I ain’t magic. Pretty sure this ain’t a fairy tale.”
You sighed and nuzzled against the crook of his neck. “I’m starting to think it might be,” you whispered sleepily.
Daryl’s cheek pressed against the top of your head. He tugged you in more snugly and paused thoughtfully. “Well… I do kinda gotta agree with ya there. Now, sleep,” he hushed you. “I dun wanna risk anythin’. Ya need rest.”
“You too,” you said with a yawn. “And now we’ve got time.”

You rested your back against the soft fabric couch as you flipped your fingers through a book, your only source of entertainment. Everyone else was asleep but you.
You closed your book when you heard a knock on the door. The house you lived in was one in Alexandria. Carol lived there with you too but tonight she was on watch duty. Opening the door, you saw Carl. His eyes looking down and twiddling with his thumbs.
“Hey Carl, what are you doing up so late?” you wondered as he came in, closing the door behind him. He sat down on the couch with you.
“I just wanted to talk to you about something…” he rested his hands down on his lap, not knowing what to do with them due to his nervousness.
“Alright… go ahead, kid,” you were interested. What could he want this late? And why is he so nervous? It caught your attention.
“This might be weird but um… Enid wants to take our relationship to the next level,” he hid his face by looking down at his busted shoes.
“Next level? Like what? You guys gonna get married like Glenn and Maggie,” you got slightly excited to the idea of a new marriage.
“No, well I don’t know… not yet.”
“Ooohh so it’s gonna happen, huh? You sly dog,” you teased him while elbowing his arm.
“No! I mean… we haven’t known each other for long…”
“Neither did Glenn and Maggie but they’re made for each other,” you loved their relationship. You thought it was cute. Calling each other “wife” and “husband” although they weren’t officially married.
“Anyway… she wants to h-have ermm…” he paused, looking at you to try and read your expression. “s-sex,” he whispered.
“Oh. Wow. So what are you doing here for? Go have fun with your lil’ girlfriend,” you pointed out the door.
“About that, I don’t really know… anything about doing uh sex,” he flicked his hat. “I know the basics, like how people like getting umm licked down there and inserting stuff into um places but I want to make sure she has a good time…”
“So you want me to give you advice?”
“Yeah…” You sinked back down into the couch, thinking about it.
“Why’d you come to me to ask about that?” you turned your head to face the blushing boy.
“Well, I know you won’t judge me… and you give good advice.” he started to gain more confidence, knowing that your chill with the idea.
“I don’t know. It’s kind of hard to explain.” You were only a couple years older than Carl. But you had experience. You had multiple boyfriends during the apocalypse. And of course you did it with them. Who doesn’t need a little relief during such a horrible time?
“Please try,” he put a hand on your knee. His eyes full of desperation. You looked at the hand on your knee then back at Carl, realizing his beauty.
“Why don’t me and you… do it then,” the moment you realized the surprise of his expression, you started babbling. “J-Just to teach you! And It’ll be a one time thing! We won’t tell ANYONE,” you flung your hands around.
Carl sat quiet. Looking down at his boots again, thinking about it. He turned his head, looking at you. You stood up straight, nervous for the first time around Carl. “Just… one time,” he folded his fingers to form a one. “ To teach me.”
“Yes! Yes, of course.”
“Okay… yeah. So, what do I do first?” he sat criss-cross on the couch, facing you entirely.
“Well, you kiss her first,” you then took Carl’s hand and put it against your cheek. “You hold her face gently,” you pressed and gently rubbed your cheek against his hand. Carl started to turn red. “Then both of you lean in.”
You and Carl inched closer. Your lips brushing against each other. “Then you press your lips against hers, slowly. Then build up into a deep kiss. Using your tongue gently.” Carl hesitated but you kissed him first. He kissed you back, slowly starting to get into it. You then opened your mouth, sliding your tongue slowly into Carl’s mouth. Your jaw moving in sync with your deep kiss. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pushing him deeper into your mouth. Carl slowly slid his tongue into your mouth this time.
You moaned into the kiss, pressing your body against his. You took his hands and moved them to your waist.
“Don’t be afraid to touch her… or me,” you separated your lips. Creating distance between the two of you, you moved back and rested your back against the armrest of the couch.
“W-What what are we doing now?” he sat with his hands between his legs like a puppy.
“I’m going to teach you how to undress a woman,” you said before pulling him by his collar so he was between your legs as you sat.
“U-Undress you? I t-think I already know how to undress…”
“Yes, you can undress yourself but what about another person. You know how to undo a bra?” You asked. He shook his head. Carl scooched closer to you with his back straight. “C’mon, undress me.”
“Are you sure… you’re okay with me seeing you with umm no clothes on?” You nodded. “Okay…” he pulled the ends of your shirt. You lifted your arms so it was easier for him to take it off. Lifting the shirt up slowly, he put it gently against the table.
“Now… unclip my bra,” you said as you leaned your torso forward so his head was on your shoulder, looking at your back. “So, you see the clasps? You have to push them together, then push the right strap over the other one.”
Carl stuck his tongue slightly out his lips, trying to get it. “It’s okay if you don’t get it the first time. It was hard for me to do when I got my first bra,” you reassured him.
After a few tries and a little help, he got it unclasped. You held the bra in place, waiting for him to look at you. When he went back to his previous position, you let the bra fall from your shoulders. Carl immediately looked away, nervous. “Hey… Hey. Don’t be nervous. Give me your hand,” he did as you said and put his hand on yours. “Now, it’s okay to look. Just don’t compare mine to Enids. It’s disrespectful.” He nodded as he turned his head to look at your breasts. The red on his face returning. “Make sure you compliment her but you HAVE to mean it.”
“Like… ‘you have nice boobs’?” you chuckled at his response.
“You could say that. But something less… vulgar is better. Like ‘your body is beautiful’” his hand twitched against your grasp. “Are you ready to touch them?” you held his hands, inches away from your chest. “I’ll show you how to massage and treat them,” he nodded. You placed his hand on your breast. “You can squeeze but never to hard,” you took a peak to his groin and noticed his growing bulge. He sinked his fingers into your boob, squeezing them gently. The touch making you squirm. “You can massage them and squeeze their nipples but never too hard,” he gulped before gently kneading your breasts while squeezing your nipple with his other hand.
“Use your mouth.”
“My mouth?!”
“Mhm, you can lick, suck, and bite my nipples. BUT if you’re gonna bite be gentle. VERY gentle. Like a lil’ nibble,” you chuckled. He leaned it slowly as you took his hat and put it aside. He opened his mouth and surrounded your nipple with his lips. He gently nibbled on it, like you said. It sent a jolt down to your pussy.
“Just like that, Carl. You’re doing so good,” you run fingers through his long hair. His cock twitched to your praise. You felt his soft tongue against your nipple as he left kitten licks. As he sucked on your nipple, you were reminded of something.
“Carl,” he looked up at you through his lashes as he continued. “Do you know how to leave a hickey?” He removed his mouth from your chest, the cold breeze making them harder. He shook his head. You pointed to spot, just above your nipple. “Put your mouth here and suck. It’ll leave a bruise but it won’t hurt me. Unless you suck really hard.”
“Why would I leave a bruise on you?” he asked, confused.
“It’s sort of like… marking whats yours. But for now, it’s just for teaching,” he put his lips on the spot you pointed at and sucked. “Not for too long now,” as he finished bruising your skin, he gave it a kiss before stepping back to look at his accomplishment.
“Did… that hurt?” you looked down at your chest and caressed the bruise.
“No, you’re being so gentle with me, Carl,” you brought him closer and kissed him on his cheek. He chuckled quietly.
“One more thing before we get to the actual umm penetration,” Carl was still nervous. He knew what was coming next. “Take of my pants…” Carl blushed extremely but he did as told. He sat back and grabbed the top of your sweats. You lifted your legs up on his shoulders as he took them off. He stared at your panties. At their black lacey trim.
“Do you… always wear underwear like these?” he pulled at his collar.
“They’re cute, right? I’m happy to finally show them to someone,” you giggled. “But you can look at them more when they’re off my body,” you teased. His expression amusing. He put his fingers through the top of your panties this time, seeing his fingers through the lace. He slowly pulled them down.
“Not every vagina looks the same, so don’t be surprised if hers looks different than mine. And again don’t compare,” you reminded. He stared at your pussy, his hands rested on your thighs. You spread your legs, giving him a better view. You spread your lips, putting your finger to your clit.
“This… This is my clit. Some guys aren’t able to find it. But it’s here,” his eye darting to it. You took his hand and looked at his eye. You caressed his fingers before inserting them inside your mouth, his face in shock. His fingers became slick with your saliva as you wrapped your tongue around his fingers, separating them with your tongue. You gave them a kiss before leaving the grasp. “Use these to rub my clit,” you whispered, referring to his fingers. His breath was shaky.
He snaked his hand down to your clit, eyeing it to make sure he was doing it.
“How do I um… rub it?” he asked, his fingers grazing over your sweet spot.
“Okay, so the clit is the sweet spot. It has a lot of nerves. You can rub it a lot of ways. But the common way is in a circular motion,” you sounded like a sex-ed teacher. Carl looked at you then back at your pussy. He leaned in close, so his face was inches from yours but he still had a good view of what he was doing.
He pushed down on your clit, gently. Rubbing it in the motion you described. You sat up straight, the pleasure causing random squirms through out your body. Carl focused his eyes on your face. The redness of your cheek and the pleasure in your eyes. He liked it. He liked making you feel good. Makes him feel accomplished. He slammed his lips against yours. Kissing you on his own. His deep kissing that he learned from you. You whimpered against his lips, his tongue roaming your mouth as he rubbed you in circles faster. He let go, giving you a moment to breathe.
“F-Finger me,” you panted. Carl was excited. He ran fingers through your pussy, finding your hole. He paused for a moment, waiting for your instructions. “Go on, put it in,” he followed. You breathed as his finger hits your depths. “Y-You feel that soft part of flesh towards my pussy?” Carl nudged his finger against it, making you to let out a small moan. “That’s the g-spot. It’s also a sweet spot. Keep pushing your finger against it.”
He repeatedly kept hitting your g-spot. You moaned harder than before. Your breath repeatedly going in and out with whimpers. “Fuck… Carl,” you rubbed his cheek. He kissed your palm as you slowly pushed your head back. He pushed his palm against your clit, the rhythm of his fingers moving with his palm. You flung your head back to place. “W-What are you doing?” you breathed between words.
“It doesn’t feel good?” he paused for a moment. You put your hand on his wrist.
“No, keep going… I just didn’t expect that,” you bit your lip, desperate for his touch. “But I still have another thing to show you,” you grabbed his shoulder and pushed him down so he was laying face to face with your vagina.
You spread your lips again. “I want you to suck it… like you did with my tits,” you demanded as you squeezed one of your breasts.
“H-How?” he took in the sight of how wet you were, seeping down your thighs.
“Lick and suck my clit.”
He breathed against your clit before making contact with his mouth. When you felt his slimy hot tongue rub against your clit as he sucked, you held on to the headrest of the couch. He flicks his tongue up and down while gripping your thighs.
“God, Carl. Enid’s one lucky girl,” you put your hand to the back of his head. He wasn’t thinking of Enid until you reminded him. He was just thinking of you. Making you feel good. He wondered why he didn’t come to you sooner.
He continued to fuck you with his tongue, his eye focused on yours. You thrust your hips against his mouth. He put his mouth, focused on your clit. Sucking and licking over your folds. Your moans were getting louder. You squeezed his head with your thighs as you gripped his hair, making it messy. Carl brought both of his hands under your thighs so he could lick you deeply, pushing your pussy against his mouth. Your face was red and sweaty with your mouth gaping open, letting out every huff. Carl closed his eyes, passionately making out with your pussy as he slowly grinded his hips against the cushion below him, trying to get his hard-on to calm down.
You whimpered in confused when he stopped. “What… what’s wrong?” Carl got up and kissed you. You could taste yourself through his lips.
“Please help me with this,” he pleaded as he gripped his bulge. You blushed profusely. You pushed a flat palm on his chest causing him to fall back on the couch.
“Alright, let’s focus on you,” you smirked as you sat him up to remove his plaid jacket. His body was warm. You pulled off his white shirt after. He shivered under the sudden coldness but as you pressed your naked body against his, kissing him, he managed to get warmer. You placed your hand on his chest. You finished the kiss, trailing your kisses from his neck, torso, and now v-line.
You gripped the sides of his torso as you rubbed your face against his bulge. You took off his pants, gripping his boxers at the same time so they came off together.
When you saw his cock, you were a bit in shock. You haven’t seen a dick in a while and seeing Carls sent electricity through you. You pressed your lips against it as it rested towards your face. Carl let out a shaky breath. You stuck out your tongue, leaving kitten licks on his shaft.
Kissing the tip of his cock, you licked away his precum before putting your whole mouth on his dick. Your tongue licking his tip while you sucked. His cock was swollen against your mouth. Carl moaned, his hand moving to grip your hair gently. You sucked his cock deeper, nearly feeling his balls against your chin. You bobbed your head up and down when suddenly his grip tightened and he took control of your pace. He pushed your head all the way deep, hitting the back of your throat. You flung back, coughing slightly.
“Listen, be careful with your headpushes. Some girls don’t fuck with it,” you warned before going down on him again.
“Do you?” he asked, his breath hitching. You giggled while his cock was in your mouth.
“Mhmm,” you cooed. Carl sat up and started gently rubbing your head. As you bobbed your head up and down, Carl shoved your head deeper into his dick. He caught you by surprise and that made you gag and cough even more than expected. He head-pushed you as a furious pace, your throat being abused. Tears streamed down your cheeks. You closed an eye to fixate on Carl. His head back and his growls loud. He looked at your face as he put his head back in place. He fastened his pace. You felt his dick squirm under your mouth. So you used your strength to push down on his thighs and release your mouth from him.
You sat up, coughing and gagging. “Jesus Carl,” you wiped your mouth with your arm.
“Huh… what?” He was confused that he didn’t reach his high. “Did I do something wrong? I’m sorry,” he was concerned.
“No, you did nothing wrong,” you licked your lips, savoring his taste. “I don’t want you to cum yet,” you got him laying back down on the sofa.
You crawled over him and laid down on his chest. “This is the best part,” you whispered into his ear. You kissed him, “For you and me.” You got up and hovered over his cock. Carl used his hands to carefully align his dick to your entrance. “Are you ready?” Carl nodded. You grabbed his hands and placed them on your hips. You slowly fell down on his cock. Moans and long shivering breathes escaping. Once you got all the way down to his balls, you felt his tip kissing your cervix.
“Mm~ Carl… how do you feel?” you laid your torso down on his chest, your faces inches closer.
“Ah~ You feel so good. Your pussy is so soft and warm,” he groaned as you lifted your hips up and down on him. You kissed him intensely as your moans vibrated through him. Carl used his hands to guide your hips as you rode him. You let go of his lips, moving them to his neck. Kissing and licking it as his head rested against yours. You moved your hips faster, his moans uncontrollable.
“Oh, Carl. Thank you for letting me be your teacher,” you put your torso up, his eyes scanning every part of your body. You pressed your hand on his chest for better balance. You slanted your inner eyebrows, going faster as the room was full of the sound of skin slapping.
Carl groped your tit as you grinded your hips. You felt the pressure of his dick on your g-spot and cervix. You moaned his name which caused him to push your hips faster and deeper into him. His growls running through your ears.
All the grinding and friction of the back of his head caused his eye bandage to come loose and slip off his face. When you looked at his face and realized what happened, you slowly stopped bouncing.
He felt the breeze coming on his wounded eye socket and covered his eye. “Shit! I-I’m sorry… you’re probably all freaked out now,” he worried insecurely.
You smiled as you leaned down and placed multiple kisses around his wound. He was stunned. “You’re so cute, Carl,” you snickered.
“Y-You’re not… grossed out?”
“This wound is just a part of you. You’re beautiful no matter what, no wound will change that.” You smiled as you continued to bounce your hips at the same fast pace. Carl was bashful towards your words. You made him feel loved and confident. You were back to making out, spit surrounding your mouths. Your faces full of enjoyment. Both of you could feel the breaths of your moans.
You felt the skin above his dick, pressing against your clit.
“I-I’m gonna-“ you put a finger to his lips. You’re face messy in front of him.
“Do it inside me,” you moaned. You wanted to feel the warm slimy fluid in you. You grinded faster, burying your head in his chest. Your drool all over his skin.
Carl wrapped his arms tightly around your back, keeping you in place as he thrusted fast and hard into you. His groans getting wilder.
You both let out a scream as he released in you. His thrusts slowing down then fastening again. Your legs quivered. His cum poured out of you and splattered over his thighs.
You let out one final shaky breath, giving him a peck. Carl raised his back, still huffing. You were on his lap.
“That’s the end of our lesson,” you whispered seductively. You sat up carefully, cum all over the sofa. Carl grabbed his bandage but you grabbed his wrist before he could wrap it around his eye. You placed another small peck under it then one more on his lips.
“Don’t forget what I said about your eye,” you smiled before putting your cute underwear back on along with your shirt followed by your pants. Carl did the same.
“Thank you… for tonight,” Carl blushed. You smiled.
“You’re more than ready to go fuck your girlfriend now,” you giggled. Carl averted his eyes.
“Do you think… maybe we can do this again?” he asked, twiddling with his fingers again. Your eyes widened, surprised that he’d want to go to you again.
“Hmm, what about Enid?” you wondered. “You should go to her. She’ll be wondering where you are,” you avoided the question. Carl frowned. “Just… try it with Enid,” you put a hand on his chest. “And trust me, I had a great time,” you carefully put your hands under his shirt and wrapped them around his body.
“You should go… before Carol comes back,” you advised while the birds started to chirp. Carl agreed and stepped a foot out your door frame. You stood in front of it. Carl looked at you before giving you a goodbye kiss then he started walking. You closed the door and immediately started wiping down the leftover sperm from the couch. You kept reminding yourself to get a morning after pill as fast as you could.

Tumblr media
1.
The first time you’d flirted with Wednesday Addams was completely subconsciously, honestly. You walked into your friend’s dorm and froze at the sight of Enid watching with a frown as she took the colour off the window on her side.
“Holy shit.” You mumbled, completely blown away.
Enid turned to you, but you were too enthralled by the mystery in front of you to look away. You tilted your head and admired her jawline and braids. Her fringe were scary, it was so perfect, like she just hopped off the Hairspray set. When she was done, she kicked the translucent vellum paper mindlessly onto Enid’s half. When you looked down, you saw the duct tape line and jumped over to Enid’s side.
“Oh, Dios mío. Cómo puede una persona ser tan perfecta?” You asked aloud and Wednesday turned to you as you blushed.
Her eyebrow was raised slightly as she looked on through her eyelashes. “di algo así otra vez, y perderás la lengua.” Her words were so smooth and calm, you almost forgot that she was threatening you.
You held back a smile at her glare and bounced over to Enid’s bed. The floorboards screeched in pain that went ignored by the people in the room as you sat on the brightly coloured bed. Enid rolled her eyes at the look on your face and sat next to you. She dared you to say what was on your mind.
You shook your head and she nodded, pleased. You began spending more time in Enid’s dorm and less in Yoko’s. And Wednesday was already sick of you by the second week at Nevermore, but you didn’t let that get you down.
2.
The second time you shamelessly flirted with Wednesday was during the Poe Cup. Or after, really. Wednesday had been coerced onto the team by Enid after Bianca poisoned Yoko with Garlic. Your team had won and Wednesday, you, Enid and the fourth person - one of Enid’s other friends - stood on the stairs as Headmistress Weems handed Enid the trophy. The celebration of the Black Cats beating the Sirens (really just anyone beating the sirens for the first time in years) had everyone but Bianca cheering.
Wednesday went back to her dorm and you followed her. When you got there, you leaned on the doorframe. “You should wear the suit more often, Cat-Woman.” You said as Wednesday sat down at her desk.
“Cat-Woman is chaotic good; I’m neutral evil.” Wednesday muttered mindlessly, clicking away on her typewriter.
You shrugged and made your way to her desk. You jumped onto an empty space and began swinging your legs near Wednesday as it took everything within her not to rip you apart. Limb. By. Limb.
You went to pick up a sheet of paper from the desk, but that idea was quickly shot down when Wednesday slapped your hand away. “Touch them again and you’ll lose your hands.”
“Wednesday, all this threatening is making me feel some way.” You shifted on the desk before jumping off and gaining Wednesday attention.
“Where are you going?” She asked.
“My dorm… Unless you want me to stay.” You smirked.
“Don’t flatter yourself, y/n.” Wednesday said emotionlessly, as always. “Enid will want to celebrate with you, so you should probably stay, though.” She then muttered, turning away from you so that you couldn’t see her face.
You shrugged and nodded, walking over to Enid’s bed and just watching Wednesday in a comfortable silence until your friend came.
3.
The next time you were all eating lunch. Wednesday had decided to eat with you for the first time since she’d been at Nevermore. It had only taken her two and a half months. Much to both of your luck, the only free seat by the time she had gotten there was next to you and opposite Enid.
Wednesday didn’t make a sound as she sat down next to you. You opened your mouth, but Wednesday held her hand up, stopped you. “Don’t say a word.”
“Not even if it’s to say how ravishing you look in that jumper?” You asked with a small smirk.
Enid cleared her throat, making you and look away from each other and to the blonde. “What have i told you about flirting with my friends?” Enid scolded you as you dropped your head.
“You told me not to.” You mumbled. “But can you blame me? Look at her.” Wednesday whacked your hand away when you motioned to her.
“Honestly, y/n, go touch some grass.” Yoko called out from the other side of the table, rolling her eyes.
“Te sugiero que cuides tu boca.” Wednesday said.
You smirked. “Eres inexplicablemente caliente cuando estás enojado.”
“Don’t make me regret eating with you.”
4.
The fourth time was also an accident, much like the first time. You were lying on Wednesday’s bed (it was shocking that she hadn’t tried to stab you the moment you crossed over the line, I know), scrolling through your camera roll when a picture you’d taken without her knowledge.
You smiled at it. Nothing could ruin this feeling of serenity. Nothing but Wednesday lying next to you. Actually, no. She didn’t ruin it. She made it better. “You’re so pretty, Wednesday.” The words came out of your mouth before you could stop them and your cheeks warmed up quickly. “I’m sorry.” You said quickly, looking away from her.
“Thank you.” Wednesday murmured, pushing her back against the bed frame. You widened your eyes. “Don’t make me take it back.”
5.
The last time you’d flirted with Wednesday was after she’d defeated Joseph Crackstone. After being all bloody and bruised, you pushed your way through the crowd to look for her. “Enid, where’s Wednesday?” You asked the blonde hurriedly, eyes darting around.
“y/n? What happened?” Enid asked, looking at you, searching for any extensive wounds.
“Most of it’s Tyler.” You whimpered, hugging yourself.
The chittering of the Outcasts suddenly died down and everyone turned to the gate where Wednesday walked out. You sighed in relief before running towards her. In that moment it was just the two of you. She winced as your body collided with hers in a hug and furrowed eyebrows before pushing you away.
“Fancy seeing you here, gorgeous, huh?” You mumbled.
The one time Wednesday flirted back, you got a mere: “You look good covered in blood.” She had joked. The look on her face was still deadpan as she once-overed your body for any lethal wounds. “Are you okay?” You nodded. Wednesday’s lips quivered as she pulled you into a bone-crushing hug.
You sobbed into her shoulder. The thought of nearly losing her to Tyler still fresh in your mind as your own shoulders shook. Wednesday held you tight. Seeing you wolf out to save her and almost get killed by Tyler was the last thing on her mind. Sure, she couldn’t stand physical contact, but having you in her arms was what she had longed for since she first heard the words you muttered on her second day at Nevermore.

Contact High
Tumblr media
Stoner Vampire, a bit of an underground term people called you. Thankfully it wasn’t near earshot of Wednesday. You were able to keep it under wraps by pretending to be a deep emotional vampire but in reality your brain was so fried you just asked questions that lead to just more questions than answers.
Relaxing in the Quad’s hall you tapped away on your phone, until someone sunk next to you. Yoko.
“Sup.” She leaned in, “The usual?” She asked, and you nodded.
“Where do you get this stuff?”
“Transylvania. Turns out there’s a patch of it in Romania that gets powered up by the moonlight somehow.” Yoko slips him a bag of oddly glowing leaves. (Y/n) is ready to return the favor Keith a roll of cash but Yoko stops him. “On the house, you saved my ass from Thornhills test so we’re even.” Yoko leaves and (Y/n) also, heading down to his room he thought it was a sure shot, unfortunately someone was following him. Stepping from out of a corner Enid folds her arms as he halts to keep from bumping into her.
“Enid! You.. need something?”
“No, I just wanted to see why you missed Class.”
“Oh, yeah I’ve been.. sick.” He lied, and while Enid wasn’t a genius she was no fool and pouts. Obviously upset as his lie, Enid taps her foot and a shadow emerges from behind him.
“In some way what you are doing is a sickness.” He turned around to face Wednesday. Who somehow snuck up on him, Enid snatched the bag from his hand with more strength than he expected. Enid sighed and really let him have it.
“Is this why you skipped class? Seriously?” She gripped the bag, and got closer to him.
“Your scholastic skills are dwindling as is, and frying your brain with this isn’t helping.”
“It’s not what it looks like, I just.. like to feel alive, you know?”
“Alive? You’re standing right in front of us, you’re obviously alive.” Enid frowns, and (Y/n) took off his glasses to look at Enid, as she came to the realization that he’s a vampire, he’s dead. Enid relents, “Oh.. yeah that makes sense.”
“Going about it with this is foolish, what do you gain from smoking.. this.” Wednesday asked, and (Y/n) smiled.
“Well.. why don’t you join me and find out.” He took the risk and Wednesday scoffed.
“Do you really think we’d debase ourselves in order to achieve some superficial sense of reality?” She said..
Wednesday, Enid and (Y/n) lie on the ground in a row, eyes slightly red as the aroma of weed fills the air.
“Okay.. so.. if you drop soap on the floor, is the soap dirty, or is the floor clean?” He asked, Enid raised an eyebrow. “Ooooooh.. good question.” She muttered.
“Obviously the Soap is dirty… even things meant to destroy germs can be infected by it.”
“Oh, yeah that makes sense.” (Y/n) looks back to the roof. Silence, until Enid said something absolutely mind blowing.
“If you’re at a restaurant.. and you’re like, waiting for your waiter.. doesn’t that make You the waiter?” She said, Wednesday and (Y/n) opened their mouths to speak but were mentally stunlocked by the question.
“Holy shit.” (Y/n) turns to Enid, “You are.. a genius.”
“Really?” She smiled, Wednesday sat up, and turned to them with a slight panic.
“Is… is there a Synonym for.. Synonym?”
She lied back down as the three began to ponder such a question, for what seemed to be an eternity,

Gomez Addams wants to adopt Enid Sinclair
It made sense, she fit right in with his little family. She was strong and so full of love, she was a little strange, but oh how Addamses loved all things strange. Gomez had never seen Wednesday so taken with someone- it was obvious they cared about each other very much.
They had done it before too, they had adopted Rocky nearly a decade ago, and Parker nearly five years ago. They were Addamses, their family was so capable of expanding.
So it made absolutely no sense to him why Morticia had told him it was a bad idea. It truly stumped him when Wednesday told him in no uncertain terms, that if he gained Enid as a child he would lose Wednesday as one.
It became a matter of great discourse in the Addams household.
Of course Gomez would listen to his daughter’s wishes, of course he would listen to his wife, but he just didn’t understand why!
They all adored the Sinclair girl, her relationship with the family she was born to was unacceptable, she barely ever saw them. She had been staying with the Addamses for a year now, so why was his family so against making it official?
Morticia shook her head in disbelief, Pugsley and Parker laughed at him. When he asked Rocky the boy said “Open your eyes, pops” and well, Gomez had thought his eyes were open. Maybe Rocky meant the ones kept in the playroom? But Gomez couldn’t be sure, they didn’t see all that much.
It was weeks of trying to understand, leading to many arguments with his daughter, until one day she said
“I plan on making her a part of the family in my own way, i plan on marrying her one day, and your ideas would deem that quite impossible!”
He sat stumped, what did that-
Morticia was laughing, Wednesday’s face was turning red, and Enid had the biggest grin on her face.
It clicked.
It really- oh lord, he had really overlooked some things. He hadn’t even wondered why Enid never used her own room, or why Wednesday was so lenient with allowing the other girls touch.
“Dulce satanás” Gomez laughed before looking up again at his girls, to Enid “My daughter-in-law”
“In due time” Enid amended “We are just dating, for now”
“Why did you not tell me” He asked his family
“It was funnier this way” Rocky told him
“We technically didn’t tell anybody” Enid said “We are taking things slow, and well apparently it is hard to keep secrets in this house”
“Oh- i’ve got binders full of wedding plans” Gomez grinned as he rushed toward his office, his family trailing behind him.
The two girls held back.
“Are you okay with this?” Enid asked
“I would follow you the the ends of the earth, my moonbeam” Wednesday said softly, kissing Enid’s hand and then forehead, before pulling her to inform her father, again, that they wouldn’t be getting married until after highschool.

Enid has a bad mental health week. Wednesday helps... in her own way.
Enid, buried beneath a mountain of blankets and stuffed animals: I'm not getting up. What's the point?
Wednesday, flatly: I'm sure your overly-energetic friends will lament your absence.
Enid, rolling over to face the wall: They'll probably have a better time without me. You said it yourself, I'm "too much".
Wednesday, sighing: Enid, you are an absolutely blinding rainbow of vibrancy. Your very person contains an energy that I couldn't hope to achieve in a thousand lifetimes.
Enid, huffing: You're making fun of me...
Wednesday, stepping closer: And everything... everyone... you touch gains a small piece of your light. I am... pleased to have been one of those people.
Enid starts to get misty eyed, Wednesday had no idea how much that meant to hear coming from her.
Wednesday climbs into Enid’s bed and lays directly on top of her.
Enid: Uh, Wens? What are you doing?
Wednesday: I have found that pressure helps alleviate my own melancholy. Perhaps it will help you, too.
Enid: I think joining me under the covers would help. For... science.
Wednesday, obliging her request: Whatever you need, mon coeur.

Enid Gaines headcanons?
(I'm ill so this might not be as detailed as the other posts but we roll)
Enid, of course, is the murderer, motive that she was cheating at her exams to get into Oxford.
One of the reasons Jolly Foul Play is so interesting to me is that it was a child murdering another child? And in my personal view, they were all originally actually friends. Idk why it's so interesting to me - I suppose something to do with the fact that they were peers, they'd grown up together, gone to boarding school where you see them everyday, learn their habits, what they don't like at breakfast etc etc etc. The intimacy of sharing a room with someone you have no say in, almost like siblings! Except not like that, because you aren't. (This ties in with my post about Elizabeth seeing the Five as her fucked up little held hostage type family)
Even before it was revealed she was the murderer, I felt she was on the outskirts of the Five and Elizabeth. Not being ostracised from them, and certainly not distanced from their actions but as in when they were all actual friends (as I hc them as used to being) she wasn't as close to them. I will explain in headcannons below!
- See I always had Enid down as a scholarship girl (although someone else recently made a post and mentioned she was upper class so now I'm slightly doubting myself but I will continue)
- she joins Deepdean in third form, as a dayboarder with her scholarship
- and the other girls like her, sure, but she hasn't got the posh accent, and her dresses are last year's fashion, and nearly all her things are second hand, not to mention she's a scholarship girl so everyone already thinks she's a swot
- so of course she tries to fit in, very similar to how Hazel scuffs her shoes and throws about her textbooks
- the other girls begin to want to be her friend now, ask her to walk with them to class and be partners in gym
- Lettice takes her on as a 'project' (a little like what happens in Emma) and lends her hair ribbons and hangs out with her (Lettice to my mind is very popular before becoming one of The Five) which is how she's introduced to the others
- she can't be the Swot if she wants to keep her friends though, so her grades slip
- her father is furious, and her mother is just a wet blanket so lets it happen (think Gwendolyn's parents in Malory Towers, if you were familiar)
- he tells Enid she should 'work harder, all that effort for nothing otherwise, friends don't last but money does, and the friends she does have are vapid and obsessed with silly things'
- "Enid, you're better than this! Keep an eye on the future, not on hockey, or hair!"
- this succeeds in creating resentment between her and the other girls, and also her parents move her to full boarding to help her focus at the same time Elizabeth turns cruel (see my E.H post for this!!!)
- so she is IMMEDIATELY thrown into this dorm family of hatred and of course she has to wonder, have all her friends always been like this?
- have they always been evil and terrible and manipulative? Has she?
- Elizabeth learns her secret quite late on as Enid doesn't start cheating until halfway through fifth form and Enid's sort of... boring in that sense
- she's a scholarship girl, and a swot, but everyone already knows this, it's no leverage.
- there's no big moment where Enid decides to start cheating, she's just tired and wants an easy way out
- and Elizabeth has started to view Enid as almost a dissident atp because she is still ever so slightly on the outside and also is still genuine friends with Lettice (her secret, her stay in the pyshciatric hospital, having not happened yet) which means she can't quite be turned against everyone not yet, and so E.H keeps a close eye on her for any trip ups
- Enid, now close friends with Lettice, tells Elizabeth that she's off to a psychiatric hospital to cover herself, maybe if she proves herself loyal to E.H she won't turn on her.
- it doesn't work. Elizabeth quickly realises that Enid has something to hide
- and Elizabeth finds out she's cheating, and the rest of the Five can now constantly imply that Enid is now no better than the rest of them, she's stuck like they all are.
- and so Bonfire Night rolls around and Enid sees the hockey stick and Elizabeth's back to her.
- it being Bonfire Night and Enid being a dramatic bitch who's read about Guy Fawkes, envisions herself as a successful him, taking down a tyrannical ruling power, and she doesn't hesitate as her fingers curl round the handle.
- 'how could she. I worked so hard. She knows I have. She deserves this like I deserve Oxford'
- she also feels guilt about Lettice's secret. Enid's final thought as the wood hits Elizabeth's head is "this is for Lettice"
- after it all happens Enid is furious as as she realises The Five won't visit her in prison. Didn't she save them?

Wednesday *gaining consciousness*: Why are we laying in the middle of the quad?
Enid: You tripped over Thing while running away from Principal Weems and knocked yourself unconscious.
Enid: I laid down next to you so everyone would think we were just chilling and you wouldn’t lose your intimidation factor.
Wednesday: You were right, there are many benefits to having a best friend.
Enid: Aw, I love you too Wens 🥰
Wednesday: My deviousness is rubbing off on you and you make a solid alibi.

love the way you love me
Wednesday Addams x Reader
Summary: You navigate through a relationship with Wednesday, slowly discovering the tenderness of her love.
A/N: This is a valentine's day special. It's not even valentine's day where I live but Tumblr got me in the mood for it, so I wrote one of the most heartfelt stories I've ever done I think. Soft!Wednesday because I said so. <3
Masterlist
Tumblr media
"Wednesday," you gasp. It falls on deaf ears.
Your eyes are closed. You can feel surprisingly warm hands sneaking under your shirt, lightly clawing at the skin there.
"Wednesday," you try again, the words are muffled against burgundy lips.
Your hands can't help but bury themselves in silky black hair.
She's addictive. She'll be the death of you.
And she's going to love every minute of it.
"You talk too much," Wednesday whispers against your mouth, her lips brushing yours.
You kiss the words, causing your nose to bump into hers before you pull away, "Weems will have my head if I'm late again today because of you."
If you try to tell this secret to anyone, they won't believe you. In some sense, you love it. She feels yours to keep, only yours.
She pulls back, hazy dark eyes piercing into your soul. All lightly swollen lips and flushed cheeks. She's divine.
"A well-worth sacrifice, don't you think?" Wednesday ducks her head, partly hiding herself behind her bangs after she says it.
A year ago, when she first stepped foot in Nevermore, she promised she wouldn't get attached or fall in love.
For a little over two months, her growing feelings for you have been proving her wrong.
Hidden behind closed doors and dark corners, you managed to get her cold heart beating harder than ever.
She despises it, and at the same time, can't get enough of it.
You bring a hand up, your thumb brushing away the smudged lipstick on the corner of Wednesday's lips.
She leans the tiniest bit toward your touch against her own volition, her nails making half-moons on your skin.
"You're a bad influence on me, Addams."
You can feel the shape of her smirk under your fingertips.
"It's what I do best."
Once a year, Nevermore's hallways gain a burst of color to them. What usually is all dark wood and grey stones, takes on extra shades of pink and crimson red; paper hearts are stuck to the walls and roses cover the gardens of the school. All in time to strike a cupid's arrow through the student's hearts for valentine's day.
You walk beside Bianca on the quad, smiling softly at the pink ribbons that decorate the outside area.
"I think I already regret offering to help with the roses," Bianca complains with a huff, "valentine's day is only tomorrow and we already have more than one hundred of them to deliver."
Her frustration makes you chuckle, an 'I told you so' lingers on your tongue yet you refrain from saying it. "Look on the bright side, you're helping to spread the spirit of love," you tease.
The siren scoffs. She comes to a stop in front of a red table, 'Nevermore's roses' is written on the bulletin board just above it in cut-out pink letters.
It's a tradition as much as it is a popularity contest in the school. Every year, students would send their crushes a red rose; some are bold enough to write a note declaring their love, some prefer to remain anonymous.
Bianca received more than ten roses last year. You got one, but Enid's proud smile had let you know it was just her attempting to soothe your heart; not a secret admirer.
"When are you gonna tell me to deliver your rose?" It's Bianca's turn to tease you, a grin playing on her glossy lips.
"Not today, that's for sure," you cross your arms over your chest, gaze skimming over the quad until it lands on a certain Addams girl; she's glaring at the colorful ribbons that adorn the walls as if they just committed unspeakable crimes.
You find yourself unwillingly smiling just at the sight of her.
Bianca catches your staring, she leans in closer to your ear, "I bet she would swoon."
You push her away, giggles escaping your lips and heat coming to your cheeks, "shut up."
Bianca joins in on your laughter, both of you unaware of watchful dark eyes on you from the other side of the quad.
It's in times like these, that Wednesday realizes that you've softened her.
Her pinkie is hooked with yours. You gently swing your joined hands back and forth. Your eyes are mostly focused on the sky, on the trees of the park, or on the buildings you see as you walk through Jericho's streets.
You drag Wednesday with you when you bend down to pat a dog or walk a little quicker to point out a pretty bird. No matter what, you don't let go of her.
Wednesday should be annoyed. In the beginning, she wanted to be. But she's not, and as the days go by, she's made her peace with the fact that you have the power to soften her.
She has never craved someone's presence, until she had a taste of yours. It's something Wednesday will take to the grave with her, but she secretly cherishes these little moments.
You end up stopping at the Weathervane for coffee as a light drizzle starts falling outside.
You sit down at the booth first, and Wednesday hesitates for a beat before deciding to sit beside you and not in front of you.
She orders coffee. You order hot chocolate. It's peaceful.
After you take the first sip, Wednesday feels your pointer finger tapping her thigh, and maybe that's why you're her exception. You don't push, you don't force, you're willing to love her the way she likes to be loved.
And no one can love Wednesday the way that you do.
It's new, and her chest still tightens in anticipation; but Wednesday turns her hand anyway, palm up, telling you it's okay.
Your fingers thread between hers, intertwining your hands together in a tender grip. Your thumb brushes her skin, and you lift her hand to your lips, placing a feather-like kiss on her knuckles.
Wednesday feels the warmth of your breath.
She loves to be loved by you.
When Wednesday is just a sip away from finishing her coffee, she finally breaks the silence; "what were you and Bianca talking about earlier?"
"Hm?" You turn to look at her, not sure what she's referring to.
Wednesday gulps down the remains of the bitterness of coffee still on her tongue, feeling uncharacteristically vulnerable under your gaze. "Today in the quad, you were laughing."
"Oh," you recall with a faint smile, "it was nothing, we were just talking about the valentine's day tradition."
Right. Wednesday furrows her brows in thought, subconsciously squeezing your hand. That ridiculous tradition.
She never cared for it. Valentine's day was pathetic in her eyes and any traditions that came with it usually made her sick to her stomach.
But this year there's a break in the pattern. You.
"Do you care for it?" Wednesday finds herself asking.
"Valentine's day?" You purse your lips, shaking your head softly, "kinda? Not much. Bianca does though, and she thinks I should too."
Wednesday inhales sharply, you see her blinking a couple of times. Too many emotions swim behind her eyes for you to put a finger in any of them.
She can be fragile sometimes. It's rare, but it happens. She's been hurt once, the fear still lingers like a poorly healed scar. You think that's the reason why whatever you are to each other, doesn't have a name yet.
It's that look in Wednesday's eyes that makes you sneak out the night before valentine's day. You don't care about labels, but you do care that Wednesday knows what she means to you.
You find yourself going to the greenhouse, praying to every higher entity that no one sees you or Weems would never let you live this down. You rummage through the many rows of plants for the one that always reminds you of the raven-haired girl.
Next, you find Bianca, she opens her dorm room door for you with an annoyed tilt to her brows. She's in her pajamas and was clearly ready to go to bed. But this can't wait.
"Sorry," you utter quietly, sweaty hands tight around your flower, "but I think you were right."
Bianca's gaze shifts from you to the flower you're holding; Wednesday's name is tied around it with a black ribbon and hurried writing on paper so it doesn't get mixed up when the students go to deliver all the anonymous roses at the end of class. A knowing smirk comes to Bianca's lips as she rolls her eyes endearingly.
"Though, I think this one would be more fitting," you can feel heat coming up to your cheeks as you extend the flower to her.
It'll break the tradition, but she's worth it.
The next morning couldn't have dawned soon enough. It should be a day like any other, but you can't help the fluttery on your chest as you skip down the stairs of your dorm.
Wednesday is waiting for you just beside the doors that lead to the quad, in your own little private space, just shy of meeting the curious eyes of your peers. Her hands are buried in her pockets as she leans on the wall, her leather backpack resting by her feet. She straightens her posture when her eyes find yours.
You think she feels it too, the shift in the mood.
You stop in front of her, taking in her neatly made braids, the tie that's just a little loose around her neck, and her big doe eyes. Your fingers itch to hold her. "Hi Wednesday," you breathe in adoration.
The corner of Wednesday's lips tilt up in the ghost of a smile, her nimble fingers reach out to hold your jaw so she can press a gentle kiss to your lips.
Contrary to what others might think, her love is always tender. Your hands find her waist, tugging her body closer to yours in an embrace as you reciprocate her affection by pressing your lips firmly to hers; and you feel her melt against you.
And it's in the way that you are able to strip her of her defenses, that Wednesday sees her lingering piece of hesitance; the reason she avoids naming what you have together. Saying things out loud means making them real.
If she tells you just what you do to her, she's allowing you to break her if you ever leave.
But maybe you'll prove her wrong on that too, and she hates to admit that part of her longs for it.
It's after lunch that Wednesday seeks you out again, a bit of urgency tugging at her heartstrings quickens her steps.
She's able to hear her own heartbeat in her ears as she has a staring contest with the door that leads to your room. Her skin is hot and prickly under her clothes because of how fast she walked, or maybe it's because of what she's thinking about doing.
Three soft knocks sound on your door, and she waits with bated breath.
You turn the doorknob to see Wednesday on the other side, she has one hand behind her back and the other holds a Black Dahlia; the one you choose.
You bite back a smile.
"Bianca delivered this to me after class," Wednesday tells you, raising a brow, "told me to be nice."
Her tone gets you chuckling, "for the record, I didn't ask her to say that," you tell her.
Wednesday hesitates — she seems to do that a lot around you — her lips hovering before any words come out. The orange light of the hallway is casting a golden glow on her. "So it was you?"
You nod timidly, gesturing for her to come in. When she does, you close the door to your dorm, and the familiar bubble of intimacy finally settles around you.
"I know you don't care about today," you start, your hands already slick with perspiration. "But I wanted you to know how I feel anyway."
Wednesday catches the hidden words in the way you're looking at her; the 'you're it for me, it's you and no one else' that goes unsaid.
No one has ever looked at her the way that you do.
A beat passes, a beat where, for the first time, she hopes you can see what she doesn't say too. Because what Wednesday feels for you, she doesn't feel for anyone else.
She stiffly extends her hand to you — the one that's been behind her back since she arrived — holding out a little sunflower for you to take. She refuses to meet your eyes, her usually pale cheeks and the tip of her ears now burning a soft shade of pink.
Wednesday clears her throat, clearly bothered that you're not taking the flower and she has to say it; "I don't need other people to deliver mine."
Your heart melts. You both broke tradition.
Gentle as ever, you take the flower from her, your eyes crinkling on the sides because of your smile. You bring it to your nose to feel the perfume, humming appreciatively.
You take a step closer to her, your socked feet bumping her boots. You hear the catch on her breath when you push aside a few strands of her fringe, your fingers lingering on her skin and leaving goosebumps in their wake.
"You're growing soft, Wednesday Addams," you had to tease.
A glare is thrown your way, her features hardening the slightest bit. It gets you smiling more, you lean up to plant a kiss on her forehead and delight in the fact that she tries to follow when you pull away. "Thank you," you whisper.
Just say it. Wednesday urges herself, shooting down her ego and the unpleasing twist in her stomach at the prospect of voicing her wishes. She grasps your free hand with hers then.
"I would-" the words feel heavy on Wednesday's tongue, but she forces them out before any second thoughts could take them from her;
"I'd like to call you mine… If you'd like to call me yours too?"
And now you're just looking at her wide-eyed, your grip on her hand becoming slack. You're not speaking, you're not moving. Wednesday doubts you're even breathing.
She shifts uncomfortably in her stance, feeling smaller by the second under your eyes. It's unnerving.
"You don't want this," Wednesday mumbles, and she despises the way her voice cracks in the middle of her sentence.
In the same heartbeat, you finally answer; "I want this," your hold on her hand returns and you tug her closer still, "I really do."
Wednesday blinks a couple of times until her eyes can find a place to focus on your face. She gulps; "don't make me regret it." It's supposed to be a threat, but it sounds more like a plea.
Your forehead rests against hers, her fringe tickling your skin as you feel her soft breathing ghost over your lips.
"I would never."
Wednesday feels more than hears your words over her lips. And she believes you.

you fit me better than my favourite sweater
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: wednesday addams x fem!reader
summary: you and Wednesday end up stranded in the middle of the lake
words: 3.954k
warnings: mentions fear of drowning, swearing, bad writing
author notes: this has been in my drafts for a fat minute and i completely forgot about it ngl
"It won't be that bad, I mean any idiot can do it." You say as you meticulously enter the canoe, gripping at the sides with a God strong as the tiny wooden boat rocked from side to side.
"Any idiot can, but you're the most idiotic person I've ever met." Wednesday grumbled as she swiftly sat across from you, entering the canoe much more gracefully than you.
You grinned as you carefully grabbed the oars from the bottom of the boat, carefully sticking them through the small holes on the side of the boat.
"At least that makes me memorable." You remarked.
Wednesday shook her head as she leaned over to push the boat away from the small dock, the boat wobbling as it caused small ripples in the water.
You sighed as you messily began moving the oars in and out of the water, the canoe moving slowly.
"Row. Row. Row." Wednesday uttered in a deadpan tone, her eyes glued to the lake.  You rolled  your eyes as you moved the oars with all of your strength. "Could you be any more uplifting?" You mumbled sarcastically as you unconsciously gripped at the oars tighter.
There was an actual reason behind the entire situation of you and your friend-not so friend- Wednesday going canoeing at a late hour.
You couldn't swim, an embarrassing fact but unfortunately true, you simply couldn't. Whenever you had lessons as a kid you never could float and would always manage to have at least one or more near drowning incidents.
You tried for months but never got the hang of it, eventually you just accepted the fact you're not a swimmer.
That was something Enid was afraid of.
Ever since the Black Cats won for the first time in decades in the Poe Cup, Enid wanted to make sure they stayed champions.
To make matters worse Yoko said she didn't want to participate this year due to getting poisoned over the entire race last year.
That's how Enid ended up asking you to which you agreed but disagreed at the same time. You would do it, but you couldn't swim. So if their boat broke, you’d be fucked.
Enid took that a 'yes with some minor technicalities' and somehow managed to convince Wednesday to take you out to canoeing. If you could canoe like a pro then that would help the team and decrease  the risk of the boat going down.
You agreed to it whereas the goth was very reluctant to go canoeing with you. Enid thought it was because Wednesday didn’t do people and would loathe having to communicate with someone if she didn’t gain anything from it.
Thinking about it, it was partially true but you know the real reason why Wednesday doesn’t want to be alone with you.
She didn’t trust herself.
A few weeks back you and the local goth had a situationship going on; Wednesday being the one who started it and tried ending it on multiple occasions. She’d drag you into the closest, the dark corners of the library, empty classrooms, her dorm room, your dorm room and even the forest at one point to make out with you.
Each time she claimed it was a one time kiss and she was simply trying something new, but then the very next day those slender fingers were wrapped possessively around your wrist and dragging you towards the closest empty room.
You’ve been in love with the goth for a while which meant you greedily complied with her wishes and did whatever she wanted, like a dog to its owner.
She wanted to make out because she didn’t do as good on a test, you’re there for her. She wanted to learn what a hickey is, you’re more than welcome to show her and guide her. She says it’s the final time, you give her the fakest smile and agree with her.
Self respect? Who was she?
It had been a week ever since yours and Wednesday last kiss and she was avoiding you like the plague. It hurt but you didn’t really expect anything else to happen.
That’s why when Enid asked the psychic to go canoeing with you, you were more than happy whereas Wednesday was reluctant. But nobody could say no to Enid's puppy's eyes; that's how you ended up rowing slowly while Wednesday sat there comfortably watching you.
"If I did it would physically pain me." Wednesday quipped as she sat there with her incredibly straight posture, glaring at you.
"You don't wanna be my personal cheerleader? If you were, you'd have to say 'but I'm a cheerleader' at least once." You said with a giggle, moving further into the lake as you moved one oar quicker than the other.
You knew Wednesday didn't understand the joke as she observed you. "You're not amusing nor comedic, Y/n. I'd rather talk to a brick wall and I guarantee it would still be more interesting than you."
You barked out a laugh at her comment, not taking it to heart, it's the one thing you've learned ever since she started dragging you into every isolated room to make out with you.
"Bricks can be pricks." You joked as you rowed further and further, starting to get tired even though you had only been doing it for a few minutes. "When can we have swapsies? I've proved I can row so it's all good."
"I can swim and row like a professional, I also brought the Black Cats to victory the previous year. I do not need to row, you do." Wednesday said with her tone bordering on bragging.
"I get it." You sigh as you keep rowing. "You've seen how good I am at it and don't wanna embarrass yourself."
Wednesday's head snapped towards yours with a sharp look. You smirked as you looked down, your arms flexing as you rowed.
"Good? If you think that is good then you're destined to make us lose the poe cup." The ravenette barked out, this was the reaction you were expecting.
You shrugged your shoulders as you  smiled innocently at her. "It's fine, Wednesday. I get it, I'm weirdly good at some things."
Wednesday didn't say anything for a moment. Her eyes trailing your face before they moved to glance at the oars.
You heard the girl let out a small grunt before she looked back at you. "Fine. Switch positions with me."
Pride flooded you instantly as you managed to convince the stubborn girl to do something. Feeling much more confident than you had in the beginning, without thinking you abruptly stood up to allow Wednesday to sit where you were sitting at.
As you stood up Wednesday's eyes widened dramatically as her eyes gazed towards your hands, grip loosening on the oars.
As if it was slow motion Wednesday watched as the further you stood up, the weaker your grip got on the oars.
"Do not let go of the oars!" Wednesday yelled at you the very moment you stood up completely straight, your grip on the oars vanished.
Splash
You nor Wednesday moved. Completely frozen.
You slowly eyed the space where the oars used to be, you swallowed nervously as you felt eyes on you. Averting Wednesday's gaze you slowly sat back down, the canoe drumming side to side momentarily.
"I told you specifically to not let go of the oars." Wednesday snapped in a harsh voice, breaking the silence of the night.
You winced at her harsh tone that you couldn't blame her for. "I'm so sorry, Wednesday."
Wednesday shook her head as she looked away from you, as if disgusted by the sight of you.
"Enid is the one who suggested it." You reminded her quickly, not wanting to face the wrath of Wednesday Addams alone in an isolated place. You’re not the brightest bulb but you still shine.
"And you're an imbecile for agreeing with Sinclair to do this, Y/n." Wednesday hissed through gritted teeth, her arms crossed over her chest as she glared at you.
You rolled your eyes as you waved your arms dramatically. "Not my fault, Wednesday. Enid asked me a question that for the sake of my life I couldn't lie about."
The goth shook her head aimlessly, looking away from you with a clenched jaw. "Should've lied."
"You also agreed to help so it's partially your fault too!" You defended with a smug smile, one that Wednesday did not appreciate.
"It's because of you and your tomfoolery and laziness we're stuck in the middle of the lake with no oars for the canoe!"
Yeah it was most definitely your fault.
"Well I'm sorry Wednesday but you're gonna have to just jump into the water, grab the boat and swim us to shore."
Wednesday's eyebrows lifted in utter disbelief. "I'm not swimming." She stated flatly.
"Wait, my phone, duh!" You said excitedly as you removed your phone from the pocket of your hoodie, smiling hopefully as you checked your phone.
Your smile faded as you noticed there was no signal. Fucking perfect, you thought bitterly to yourself .
"No signal." You told her, shoving your phone back into your pocket with a huff.
"Shocker, I would've never presumed that a cellular device would be useless in a situation of emergency." She snarked out, crossing her arms again in her short sleeve black t-shirt.
"Emergency?! Oh my fuck are we gonna die? Cause I'm not having 'DIED BY SITTING IN A CANOE' on my gravestone."
The raven haired girl who looked visibly more relaxed than you glanced over towards the dock. "We'll just have to wait here until either Enid comes looking for us or someone else passes."
Your eyes widened dramatically as you stared at her in disbelief. The plan didn't sound fun, good or reliable.
"What if it takes hours?"
"Then we will sit here for hours." She answered, her eyes returning to meet with yours.
"Oh fun." You retorted with a roll of your eyes. "So, since it's just the two of us, is this going to turn into a childhood trauma kinda talk or gossip talk?"
Wednesday glowered at you with her iconic death stare, you sighed. I'll take that as a silent kinda talk then, you thought to yourself.
Your eyes gazed over Wednesday's face which was turned to look at the dock, her already sharp jaw pulled into an even tighter clench.
You managed to stay utterly silent for what felt like a full hour (but was really only five minutes) before you finally cracked, your knuckles white from the grip you still had on the plank you're sitting on.
"So, how've you been?" You asked gingerly to the goth. Wednesday didn't spare you a glance as she replied.
"I'm currently stranded in the middle of the lake with the absolute dunce of a human being." She snarled, her cold eyes meeting yours once again.
"I'll take that as good?" You joked as you purse your lips, hoping you could make light of the pretty shitty situation.
"You're infuriating."
You sighed as you glared at Wednesday, you were trying to be nice and making the situation better but she was not helping it at all. "Thanks." You grumbled sarcastically.
Yes it was a not so good situation, yes it was your fault, yes you felt bad about it. But you felt like Wednesday didn't have to dig into you that much, you wouldn't mind as much if you knew she was joking. But you knew her well enough to know she was utterly serious.
The more minutes passed the more bored you got. Wednesday was refusing to look at you whereas all you could stare at was her side profile.
Your fear of not being able to swim started to gnaw away at the deep pit of your stomach.
"I very much doubt Enid will notice we're stranded due to the fact she's spending the night at Yoko's tonight." Wednesday suddenly announced, the feeling of fear intensifying  as you realised the odds of you sleeping on this canoe over night was growing.
"What time is it?" You asked her quickly.
She glanced at the watch on her wrist briefly before she glimpsed at you. "It's nine in the evening, and curfew is at nine." You gawked at her as the chances of you sleeping outside for the night increased significantly. "You sure you don't wanna go for a little swim?" You attempted one last night, in hopes Wednesday would agree.
"No."
You sighed as you nodded your head weakly, you're sleeping on water tonight.
Great.
"Alright if we're sleeping here overnight how are we doing it?"
"I will not be sleeping." Wednesday stated. "I'll stay on watch in case an individual passes."
"All night?" You asked with your eyebrows raised.
"Is your hearing damaged?" Wednesday replied dryly, her eyes boring into yours, you huffed as you averted her piercing eyes looking over at the sun slowly setting.
"At least it's warm, some might even say a hot summer night in mid July." You joked in a playful voice, turning your head to look at the beauty of the lake.
The sunset lightning up the dark lake with a shine that made it even more beautiful .
"Your obsession with that woman is odd." Your head snapped back to look at Wednesday, your jaw slackened as you gazed at her with shock.
Wednesday remembered you liked Lana Del Rey? More importantly, how did she even know it was a lyric from Lana Del Rey?
Without much thought you voiced your last question to the goth.
"How'd you even know I was talking about Lana Del Rey?" Wednesday blinked at you as she stayed silent, her eyes glued to yours as she tried to think of an answer. "You do nothing but extol her." She said in an affirmative tone, her fingers playing with the thick steel black ring Enid gifted for her many moons ago.
You tilted your head like a curious dog as your eyes narrowed on her fingers.
She was lying.
You weren't Wednesday level good at reading people, but you could always notice a tell when it was presented to you.
You hummed, looking back up at Wednesday's face with a smirk. "I talk about Lana and how good she is but from my knowledge I've never actually sung her song in front of you before. Matter of fact, I don't think I've even talked specifically about the lyrics of her songs with you before, probably with Enid but never you."
"I don't understand what you're trying to say." Wednesday questioned with threat lacing her words. “I’m just saying, how could you possibly know that line if you’ve never heard me say it before, ‘cause I know Enid is a K-Pop and Swiftie kinda girl, not a Lana one. And you’d never listen to such ‘pointless audios’ as you said, would you?”
“Terminology with celebrities is obtuse.” She said briskly, her eyes avoiding yours the exact way she was avoiding your words. You hummed as you nodded your head, smugness infiltrating your smile.
Silence filled the wooden canoe after that, Wednesday staying perfectly silent as she stayed perfectly still. Her main focus being the docks as she hoped someone would pass and help the two of you.
Thirty minutes passed and there was still no sign of life other than you and the raventte. With a long sigh you reconnected your eyes with Wednesday.
“We’re stuck here all night aren’t we?” You asked in a knowing tone.
Wednesday nodded her head curtly. “Yes we are.” You let out an exasperated breath as you ran your fingers through your hair. “Also, due to how this canoe is structured it would be impossible to lay down flat on the ground to sleep.”
You looked down at the boat as you tried figuring out any spot where you could sit down in any position and luckily you quickly found one.
Without saying anything you carefully pushed yourself off the small seat moving to sit at the bottom of the canoe. After a few moments of repositioning yourself with the boat rocking back forth gently you managed to find a semi comfortable position.
Your feet dangled off one edge of the boat while your neck rested on the edge of the opposite one, it wasn’t the most comfortable one but if you fell asleep your biggest worry would be a stiff neck and not drowning.
Grinning, you turned to look at the girl whose boots were only about half a metre away from your side. “You say impossible, I say possible.”
“I say irritating, you say humorous.” She remarked with a glare as she stared at you with her beautiful dead eyes.
“Well I’m the one who can sleep tonight if someone doesn't come get us.” You tell her with a smile before adding. “No shame if you came down to join me.”
“I would rather live for an eternity than lay with you.” She hisses through gritted making you let out a little giggle. “Whatever you say.”
Minutes passed as you and Wednesday stayed in silence, you gazing up at the sunset making the colour shine gorgeously as Wednesday gazed at your side profile.
After what felt like a century in silence you decided to put on your Spotify playlist that you downloaded to your phone, needing something to erase the booming silence.
Hitting on the playlist ironically the first song that played was ‘Young and Beautiful’ by Lana Del Rey; the song that had the infamous ‘hot summer nights, mid-July’. You had the DH Orchestral version downloaded.
As the song played in a low volume you heard a small rhythmic tapping from next to you. You turned your head to the side and to your surprise you noticed Wednesday was the culprit of the noise.
She was now gazing off in the sunset like you were doing earlier as her fingers moved against her thigh going along with the beats of the song.
Wednesday listened to Lana Del Rey because of you.
You didn't comment on it; simply admiring her with a small smile until the song finished, another random Lana Del Rey song playing soon after.
The goth must've felt eyes on her as she snapped her head back into your direction, locking eyes with you as she tilted her head slightly to the side.
She didn't say anything and neither did you. The two of you sat in silence as you gazed at each other; the two of you having a glint of love in each other's eyes, but neither of you would comment on it.
Somehow an hour had managed to pass as the sun was almost entirely gone, only a small arch left warming you up.
“Do you think we’ll tip over if we go to sleep?” You voice up slightly nervously as you stare at the wooden canoe. “I will not be sleeping so I’ll make it won't happen.”
“Wait, you were serious about not going to sleep?” Wednesday stiffly nods her head as her posture still remains as straight as ever while sitting up.
“I never lie.” She tells you.
You bite your tongue into not saying anything that might annoy the goth since you know damn well she lies. She’s lied to you many times when preaching your sessional kisses were only a ‘one time thing’ for each one.
You sigh as you glance up at Wednesday, nodding your head. “Okay, I'll stay up with you.”
“There is no need, Y/n. You may fall asleep if needed.” Wednesday insists with a shake of her head.
“Don't be ridiculous, Wends, I’m not letting you stay awake all night alone while we’re trapped in the middle of the lake.” You reply in a tone that indicates you're not going to debate with her about it.
The goth sighs as she reluctantly nods her head in agreement. “Fine, whatever.” She mumbles not making eye contact with you as she twisted her body to the side slightly, her brows furrowed ever slightly telling you she's in slight pain.
You don't say anything as you lean forward and take off your hoodie before laying it flat on the bottom of the canoe as the end of your hoodie reaches the tips of Wednesday's boots.
“If your back hurts you need to lay down for a while.” You say making her look back at you with her eyebrows even more furrowed.
“I’m an Addams, we thrive on pain.” Wednesday answered as if that explained anything. You rolled your eyes as you tapped at your thigh meekly.
“Okay, fine you love pain and shit. But if it gets too much you're more than welcome to lay down, I wouldn't shame you or tell anyone.” You reply with a soft smile as Wednesday scoffed at your words, not verbally replying.
You didn't say anything as you looked away, glancing over at the dark lake as the sun had officially set. The only light being gifted being the pale moonlight; glistening the water just as softly as the sun did.
Five minutes passed before you heard small shuffling from Wednesday’s side of the small boat, you didn't look over at her as you gazed off into the water.
Wordlessly, you can hear Wednesday slowly move to the bottom of the canoe as she quietly moves up closer to you, laying her head on your lap as she laid straight on her back.
Your hoodie under her body definitely made it more comfortable for her, something that filled you with pride.
You look down at Wednesday to see her already looking up at you, her eyes seeming softer as they glinted from the moonlight.
“You’re so pretty.” You whisper out to her moving to lay an arm over her stomach to try to give her as much body warmth as you could.
Wednesday blinked for the first time as she never broke contact with you, stiffly moving to lay a hand over the one you had on her stomach.
“You're pulchritudinous, Y/n. Not only on the surface level but also inside.” You tilted your head confused at what she just called you, laughing nervously.
“I’m what?” You ask her, resulting in her rolling her eyes as a soft red shade of colour attacked her ears.
“Beautiful, Y/n, it means beautiful.” Wednesday answers make you blush as a nervous smile forms on your lips.
Admiring her as you run a hand through her soft bangs, not surprisingly they fall right back into place as if you never touched them when you pull away.
As her dark eyes locked with your eyes you couldn't help but let out a breathless laugh, the look in her eyes and the look you know you have in your eyes telling her everything.
“I don't want to make it a one time thing.” You confess as you lay your hand near her head. “I don't want it to only be secret kisses, Wednesday. I want you. I want everyone to know how much I love you.”
For the first time in your life you see Wednesday smile; not smirk, but a true and genuine soft, small smile.
Gracefully she grabs your hand that was on her stomach as she lifts it to her lips pressing a kiss to your knuckles making you blush at her actions.
As she held your hand she refused to pull them away from her lips, you could feel her breath tickle your skin gently as she whispered the words you have been waiting weeks to hear.
“I love you too.”

I remember seeing that the addams are immune to fire, electricity, and poison, so when does that kick in? Are Sora(I'm making the safe assumption that she becomes an addams) and Enid (ig Morticia also counts in this) immune from birth? Does it kick in when they fall in love with the bloodline Addams? When their last name is legally changed to Addams? What's your interpretation? Cause right now I'm thinking about the first 2 options and scenarios where they KNOW they should have burned, electrocuted, or poisoned, and are just wondering something along the lines of , "Why tf am I okay rn?"
I'm sorry, but I don't really like to think that people married into the Addams family gain those kinds of abilities. Stuff that are canon in the movies dont necessarily have to be for the show, especially when they were done for comedic effect(i.e. Morticia barely being bothered as she gave birth). The invulnerability may be something I followed in Addams Family fics related to the movie, but I don't apply it to the series version of Morticia.(The invulnerability probably isn't even canon to the show's version of the Addamses anyway)
That hc is kinda attached to the Addams Family curse fanon, which I was never really a fan of. I don't want some kind of curse of fate compelling my characters to fall in love, and I don't want some outside force confirming that the person they're with is The One either. Falling in love has to be something that happens because of how their relationship has developed, and staying with the person has to be something they decide on their own. That's romance to me, not some curse.
And with the kinda love life Pugsley's had in my AU, applying the Curse in that storyline would be giving implications that I'm not interested in exploring.
I also don't like the idea of people who marry into the Addamses suddenly gaining or always having gained invulnerability because of the kind of relationship arc I want for Morticia and Enid in my AUs. If you've read my fic, you might remember there was a scene between Enid and Morticia talking about boundaries.
As well as Morticia and Enid may fit in with the Addamses like a glove, I still want to emphasize that they are both outsiders being welcomed to the family, and it has to be FELT, you know? It's an interesting conflict to explore, that even Morticia had difficulty adjusting to a different lifestyle with the Addamses due to them being just so different in many ways. Because it would be interesting to explore it in relation to how she could bond with Enid over it.
Tumblr media
That was the mindset I had when I wrote that scene. I actually had plans to further explore it. There were supposed to be more scenes with Morticia and Enid, but I had to cut it short.

I just got a thought so! we all know that Wednesday wears alot of layers right
So one day, during school when Wednesday wants to convince Enid to do something like check out this abandoned place somewhere, do you what she does?
She takes off the blazer and carries it on her arm
It's innocent, it shouldn't do a thing except Enid has the same constitution as someone from the Victorian era around Wednesday for some reason
It shouldn't do a thing, it's literally her girlfriend wearing the rest of the uniform minus the blazer, it should not at all affect the werewolf.
Except, it does, much to Enid's own mortification
Safe to say she was too busy processing what she was seeing to fully realize where they were walking too
Wednesday knows what she's doing btw, theres smth flattering about doing something so tiny yet gaining such a loud reaction
It escalated to her folding her sleeves up one day and it's enough to have Enid blushing and quickly averting her eyes away when Wednesday raises a brow
