*grabs you by the shoulders and shakes you violently*
Listen to me, Irish spelling is logical and has rules. Your unfamiliarity with our language does not change that.

Yes, it is! That is the sound those letters make! All you're doing is telling me you can't read!

All I'm saying is anybody who thinks the Japanese animation industry commits uniquely baffling crimes upon the English language has not properly appreciated what it does to German.

I need everyone to know that the german word for mullet (the hairstyle) isn't a word at all.
It's the equivalent of calling the mullet "Froshbalo" in english.
Why? Because Vokuhila (the German 'word') is simply "Vorne kurz hinten lang" (Front short back long)
I need everyone to know that.
And I will now start calling a mullet a Froshbalo because honestly that word is banging.

laying in bed, remembering that one of the ways people avoid saying "Scheiße" (shit) after they've already started saying the word is "Schhhheibenkleister" (der Scheibenkleister - the window paste/glue)

maffhew who refuses to say runebergin torttu because he knows hes gonna butcher it so bad he might be kicked out of the country the second he tries and staunchly avoids that by going "the one dessert that barky is going to have to explain 😃"
sasha who gets faced with the most generic description of everything hes ever eaten in his life so far because of maffhew and going "???... oh you mean runebergin torttu!"
"he did good he liked the food and he likes the finland so far so its good" sasha says with so much pride now that all the anxiety has left his system that his husband teammate is enjoying his country and doesnt hate it

Yes, yea, ja
The counterparts of the word yes in the Germanic sister languages end in a vowel, such as German, Dutch, and Swedish ja. This is because ja etymologically corresponds to English yea, a word that in Standard English is used only in voting. It's also used as a noun: 'Senators could fax in their yeas and nays'. Yes has a slightly different origin. Click the graphic to learn more.

some of the things that I don't understand with English vs German is how in German it's for example Kakao, but in English cocoa. or Mahagoni and mahogany. ooor Koffein vs caffeine but Kaffee and coffee. like. the a and o shift. and tbh Kaffee and Kaffein or coffee and coffeine would make much more sense so no one judge me for constantly saying Kaffein, it's the English influence abssbab

I was talking with my friend yamina about German endearments for these two and she suggested Großer (big boy (fond)) which was too cute, I had to do something with it.

The first photo was taken when I went to the orthopedist in a nearby city. He told me I needed physiotherapy because of my injury. The pain and the swelling was simply not going away. Today was my first physiotherapy session and my foot already seems to be feeling a little bit better. Wishing y'all a blessed night! 🙏🏻✨
What i did today:
Reviewed the course material for self-efficacy (the job center in my town hosted a free course on self-efficacy)
Read some articles on "der Spiegel"
Listened to the German news on "Deutschlandfunk"
