Don’t get me wrong, I love fanon Tim Drake and his coffee addiction, but I seriously love canon Tim Drake and his obsession with energy drinks. The fact that he absolutely despises coffee just a little bit more is so relatable (totally not because I love energy drinks just as much).

I like to think Tim can only tolerate coffee when it’s loaded with sugar, creamer, and anything sweet he can add to drown out the bitterness. The idea of him hating the actual taste of coffee but still chugging down the sweetest cup possible just to stay awake is peak Tim behavior.

Since being rescued, Whumpee has been severely sleep-deprived. Whumper wouldn't allow them to rest without permission. They saw sleeping as "lazy". If Whumpee chose to lay down and take a nap, Whumper would force adrilane shots into their arm. Whumpee usually didn't like to sleep anyways. Too many nightmares.

Whumpee does whatever they can to stay awake. Binge watching TV shows and movies, drinking energy drinks, going on walks around the house, and dousing themselves with cold water. It took a toll on them, but it was better than Whumper's punishments by a long shot.

But this need to stay awake keeps them from healing. They're angrier and jumpier, they can't focus on anything, and it damages their relationships with their friends, even Caretaker. Whumpee can't survive on their own; they're too unstable. It's easier on their pride to take their repressed trauma and fear and turn it into anger.

Caretaker finally snaps and asks Whumpee what their problem is. That's what brings them back to reality. Whumpee starts to tear up and full on trauma dumps everything. The punishments, the sleep depravation, the not having a decent meal in months. Then they apologize over and over again. Caretaker's anger melts away.

They invite Whumpee to their room. Hesitant, Whumpee agrees and follows them. Caretaker makes them change into their comfiest pair of pajamas and lay on the bed. Whumpee crawls into the soft covers and Caretaker cuddles them, keeping them safe from the nightmares and pain.

For the first time since being kidnapped, Whumpee can rest peacefully.

Who knew taking a healthy sleep schedule and actual food (not constant energy drinks and starvation) was the solution to all of this?

me, no experience with energy drinks: i am going to drink this coffee infused energy drink all in one go. there will be no repercussions for this
