Theme #07: Clio by @pneuma-themes
Where you walk, my dearest friend, fate shall surely follow.
Live Preview (Temporary) / Static Preview: [Index] [Permalink] / Get the code: [pastebin] [github]
This is intended to be a fansite! I am finally happy with how this turned out after a few iterations. This theme features Emet-Selch from Final Fantasy XIV. Be warned going into the live preview as this theme heavily features content that can be found on various points of Shadowbringers and Endwalker, which may or may not be a spoiler!
Features:
Customizable post widths and font sizes. The live preview uses 650px post width and 13px font size. Enter the desired post width on the post width field and the desired font size on the font size field on the Customization page.
One accent color, 7 color options
Option for title alignment (centered/lefthand side/righthand side) to accommodate for the chosen header image.
Option to display or hide the blog title.
Built-in dual sidebar layout. All the boxes on the sidebar (members, events, updates, and site info) and the footer (disclaimer, about, and search box) can be edited from the code directly.
5 custom links at the topbar with additional 8 links on the navigation box.
Customizable photoset gutter. The live preview uses 10px gutter.
A header image. The size of the header (w x h) is the width of your screen x 350px. So if your screen width is 1900px, then the size of your header should be 1900 x 350px.
Notes:
This theme uses @eggdesign's NPF reverse-compatible template. Everything should be working as expected, except for some things noted below.
As we slowly transition into the new editor, posts made by the legacy editor will eventually break. This is particularly evident in a quote post reblogged via the new editor, in which the post will be rendered as a text post with blockquote and cannot be styled similarly to a legacy quote post. This is a Tumblr bug as far as I am concerned and from what other people have told me, so unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it.
I've written a short guide on how to set up this theme here. Everything else is annotated in the code, so do read through them before shooting me an ask!
Credits:
NPF reverse-compatible template: @eggdesign
Header: ユズリコ❂ (yuzuriko_red @ Twitter)
Icon font: Phosphor Icons
Icons (affiliates, members) and toggle tags on click: @alydae
Fonts: Nunito, Merriweather @ Google Fonts
customAudio.js: @annasthms
photoset.css with lightbox: @annasthms and @eggdesign
Search box, minified spotify player: @glenthemes
Toggle-able tumblr controls: @seyche

Please like and reblog if you like this theme or are using it!

A Thematic Analysis of Dawntrail (and Endwalker BUT MOSTLY DAWNTRAIL)
SURPRISE I REMEMBERED THIS BLOG
Anyway, I was thinking about Dawntrail and how it's thematically similar to Endwalker while still carrying its own message, and I want to ramble about it.
This is going to be a LONG post, so the analysis itself is under the cut.
So. Dawntrail has been out for two, maybe three months now, and because of uni I've not been able to play FFXIV for a while, but that's given me time to digest the new storyline a bit and the themes that are present in the story.
I think I'll divide this post into sections, for easier readability, going from the background of both expansions (yes I will tag spoilers) to my thinking on it.
Part 1: Dawntrail's Story
THERE WILL BE HEAVY SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Dawntrail picks up pretty much where the post-Endwalker MSQ left off, with the party of the WoL and their friends (now featuring Erenville and Wuk Lamat!) setting off on a boat to Tural. A storm rattles them a little bit along the way, but most people end up being fine thanks to our intrepid heroes, and we make it to Tural no problem.
Once we're there, we go through the rite of succession, and Wuk Lamat learns a lot of things along the way, but mostly that in order to be a good ruler, she has to be willing and able to learn about the people she rules over, and be willing to listen and take action to help them with their struggles.
Surprising no one, she ends up becoming the new Dawnservant (and asking her brother Koana to help her, which I love) and her father, Gulool Ja Ja, steps down so she and Koana can begin ruling.
(Oh, and they kill Valigarmanda, a Tural Vidraal that not even her father could kill, and thoroughly smoke both Bakool Ja Ja and Zoraal Ja in the trials after that. Zoraal Ja then disappears and eventually opens the gate to and enters the golden city.)
Things are peaceful for about a day. During that time, the WoL accompanies Erenville to Xak Tural so he can visit his home, and they help settle matters in Shaaloani first.
After that, though, a weird sphere pops up over Yyasulani, and airships are seen heading towards Tuliyollal. Erenville and the WoL rush back, only to find a bloodbath, and Zoraal Ja battling his own father, covered in strange technology.
Zoraal Ja wins, and Wuk Lamat grieves for her father, promising to avenge his death.
She follows Zoraal Ja's airships into Yyasulani, where she and the party discover a changed world - and meet Queen Sphene, the ruler of the land and Zoraal Ja's Queen of Reason. The new world is called Alexandria, and she leads them on a tour of it - but something is... off about the whole place.
Eventually, Sphene reveals herself to be the big bad, and we defeat her, but Wuk Lamat promises to help Gulool Ja, Zoraal Ja's child, take care of the citizens of Alexandria as if they were her own.
Part 2: Dawntrail's Important Themes
Ok, so why the overview? Well, because it helps me keep the story somewhat straight, and lets me dig into some of the most important moments in it.
The first happens in the first part of the story, and it's about accepting differences in each other's culture, and learning to live in harmony with those around you. That's literally what Tuliyollal was built on, remember. And we see Wuk Lamat learn this lesson in a number of different ways throughout the rite of succession - she grows as a person because she allows herself to learn.
If you ask me, we should all strive to be more like Wuk Lamat in that regard.
The second happens right in the middle of the story, and Wuk Lamat is not the focus of it at first, but her brother, Koana, is. He is the first to recognize his faults, and work to overcome them, turning them into strengths. In turn, Wuk Lamat follows her older brother's example, even going so far as to ask him to serve as Dawnservant alongside her.
No one is perfect for one role alone - but if we collaborate, we can achieve great things. And while this has always been a theme of FFXIV, it really shines in the newest expansion.
And finally, some new old themes to consider:
Grief, but also remembrance.
This is the one I'm going to talk most about, so buckle up.
We first see the theme of remembrance in the Yok Huy, who do not have gravestones, but rather epitaphs that depict a person's life story, that they may always be remembered. They preserve important historical events in the same way - through murals and epitaphs, such as the discovery of the golden city.
And the near extinction of their people.
People, mind you, who they are still very much grieving. After all, a LOT of people died when the Yok Huy traveled to Xak Tural. In fact, we can see this plain as day in the Chirwagur population - they still believe the Yok Huy should be the overlords of the land, although they lack the strength to do anything about it and mostly just keep to themselves. And some people do that in grief - they cling to what once was because it brings them comfort in a time where there is very little to find in their life.
You know where else we see this?
Alexandria.
In fact, that's the whole concept of the Endless right there. They are AI that wear the faces of departed loved ones so that they may be eternally remembered, never forgotten, never dying, living in a veritable paradise.
A paradise that is at least partially based on Alexandria before the Electrope Wars.
In fact, Sphene did not become Queen of Alexandria until the Electrope Wars, so really her whole existence is an example of clinging to the past.
Part Three: What Does This Have To Do With Endwalker?
Boy oh boy, am I glad you asked!
In Endwalker, the Ascians have brought about the end of the world. Everyone is scared, and they don't know what to do, and then Radz-at-Han and Garlemald nearly fall to ruin. Many people die, and many more are actively grieving.
Ourselves included.
At this point in the story, the WoL has seen MULTIPLE friends die in front of them (although really only Moenbryda is brought up time and again, but she wasn't the only one - remember Minfilia, Ysayle, Haurchefant, Papalymo? Heck, even ARDBERT, who at one point tried to kill us and later helped us kill Hades.)
How everyone handles grief in Endwalker is different - some give in to despair, and become monsters themselves. Others try their best to hold out hope for a brighter tomorrow, like those in Radz-at-Han, and Garlemald, and Sharlayan.
Yet others actively do something with their grief, channel it into something useful - like the WoL. Of course, they literally travel to the aetherial sea, confront their grief head on in the form of the souls of their dead friends, and then beat the crap out of the last remaining Ancient who may as well be a god at this point so they can use her last bits of aether to power their ship to travel to the end of the universe and battle the literal embodiment of despair. And we can't all do that. But the message is the same no matter what: No matter how grief affects you, things can and will get better, even if you have to try and try and fail again and again to make it so.
Also can I just talk about that last fight with Zenos really quick? Because to me, that symbolizes the WoL finally letting go of what haunts them. Zenos, to me, is the shadow that haunts the Warrior of Light - literally. Not only is he our mirror, in Endwalker, he is a metaphor for grief, and how it never truly leaves, even when we've made peace with it.
And considering the real-world events going on at the time of Endwalker's release, this makes sense. It was the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, death tolls were climbing by the day, and many people were losing hope.
Part 4: How Does THAT Tie Into Dawntrail?
In talking about how Dawntrail and Endwalker are similar, we need to also consider the real-world events around the time of its release.
COVID-19 is still a very real threat, and ruins if not ends many people's lives daily, no matter how much we pretend it's gone away.
In multiple countries, there are elections being held that could determine whether certain groups of people even get BASIC RIGHTS, and in multiple other countries, people are being massacred for (from what I can tell) no other reason except genocide.
While Dawntrail begins as simply a new beginning to a new story, it ends as a reminder of the previous expansion's message - and a new addition to it.
Those who have left us are not truly gone, so long as we remember their stories. They can't come back to us, but they can stay in our memories until we ourselves pass on, and in that regard they never truly leave us.

9 and 10 for the Violence questions
Worst parts of canon & Worst parts of fanon?
worst part of canon
There are far too many single solitary events for me to pick out as The Worst Ever so I'll take it a bit above board and say the pacing of Endwalker was the fucking worst. Heavensward is a close second with the whole "you're at the Aery now oh oops time to go back to fuckin' Ul'dah" thing. But Endwalker just keeps escalating and escalating and escalating and escalating with a few scheduled 9 minute supervised breaks and then back to escalating.
And I get it, the world is ending, the stakes are high, but the lack of actual release between tensions was making me so fucking miserable playing through it. And that's not just an issue of trying to grind out the expansion ahead of all the inevitable spoilers that people refuse to tag for. My friends who have been playing it much slower than I were complaining about the same pacing issues in the same spots as I was so it was really vindicating for me.
I was also spending a good deal of MSQ just watching very obviously scheduled emotional beats sail right by because I don't actually like Hydaelyn that much. She's never been "my crystal mommy" -gags- and coming off of Shadowbringers the dynamic between the Scions is. Not great? To put it lightly? And there was really no time spent actually getting to get immersed in a board before jetting off again. Like, once again, yes I know the world is ending. But having only one board per area made it feel like just set dressing as opposed to basically every other expansion where we get to spend at least a little time getting a feel for the new area. And I kept feeling like I was missing out on something after flying over All This Space only to have maybe two or three points of interest.
And like, fuck those follow quest mechanics, man lmao I'd rather deal with the blowdart shit again.
worst part of fanon
I don't know if it's canon or fanon but I'm putting it here anyways; I don't fuck with the idea that the Ascians were tempered by Zodiark. I feel like that cheapens the narrative just a bit. Like no, they're not tempered, they're 12,000 years into a sunk cost fallacy. The Rejoinings won't work bc they botched the 13th, but they just keep trucking along anyways because what else have they got? That's not tempering, that's 12,000 years of being stuck with your weird coworkers and without any sort of framework for actually processing grief (see: Hermes' whole deal) and having nothing left to go on but "the only way out is through".
This may not be The Worst but it's the one that I come up against the most that actively bothers me that I haven't already addressed. I tend to ignore most fanon interpretations on a grand scale.
Thanks for the asks @hazelkjt

My official "How I plan to blog during Dawntrail" post
Okay, seeing as Dawntrail early access is imminent I should make my post about spoilers and how I plan to handle them on my blog.
First of all I will be blogging my experience. That being said, I will be taking great care to ensure that I don't spoil anyone for anything! Everyone deserves to experience the expansion at their own pace and without spoilers.
All Dawntrail posts that I reblog will be tagged with the tag dawntrail spoilers since that seems to be the most common tag people will be using, that is the one I will also use (I also tend to tag as ffxiv spoilers for spoilers but the Dawntrail specific tag will be the main one I'm using.)
For anything that I post myself I will be hiding it under a readmore, with some text above it indicating it is potential spoiler content, as well as using the divider below above the readmore as an at-a-glance indicator that "Ay thar be potential Dawntrail spoiler content below!"
Tumblr media
I believe with Endwalker I continued to use spoiler tags for a month after early access. I plan to do this again for Dawntrail. If anyone following me wants me to continue spoiler tagging for longer than that, please just shoot me an ask and I will extend my tagging (unrelated, but if you ever want me to tag for anything, not just ffxiv stuff, just shoot me an ask about it and I will do my best to ensure that I tag for it going forward).
So, that's about it! I hope everyone enjoys the expansion and I hope everyone gets everything they ever wanted out of it! ♥♥♥

How would you think the scions react to learning that after the final fight against Zenos in EW, the WoL had brought him back aswell for them to keep him alive, then when they also find out the reasoning behind it being that the WoL and Zenos are dating?
anon, this was a juicy one! i was immediately intrigued, then i thought... "what if they all found out at the SAME TIME?"
so that's what i wrote! enjoy! :D
characters featured: Thancred Waters, Urianger Augerelt, Y'shtola Rhul, Estinien Wyrmblood, G'raha Tia, Alphinaud & Alisaie Leveilleur, Zenos yae Galvus tags: angst, secret relationship, mention of violence/grievous injury, Endwalker spoilers!!!, gn!WoL word count: 1408
Tumblr media
They’d really done it. Their unhinged plan — flying to the edge of the universe, bringing hope to the wellspring of despair — actually worked. When the starship landed, the sky was blue again, the sun shining bright and hot over the white-washed walls of Sharlayan. The Scions were heroes. And as such, they should have been celebrating their triumph. Or sleeping for a week. But, of course, they were doing neither.
Instead, they were crammed seven-deep into an infirmary waiting room, staring at walls and fidgeting as they waited for the Warrior of Light to emerge from one of the sick rooms. A fairly regular occurrence for them, with one exception. It was not the Warrior convalescing; it was the disgraced prince of Garlemald himself, Zenos viator Galvus. The fact that he swallowed the Mothercrystal’s power and hunted the Warrior to the edge of the universe was dramatic enough as it was, but the fact that the Warrior brought him back afterward?
Bizarre. That was the unspoken consensus between the Scions. Everyone seemed to be holding their breath, unwilling to assume but burning with curiosity all the same. As they pondered a day full of incomprehensible occurrences, the door to Room Two slid open, and the Warrior of Light emerged into the waiting room. Their comrade’s face was grimmer than befits a shard of Azem. The silence was a shell no one wished to break.
Finally, someone exhaled.
“Does he live?” Y’shtola asked, tone held taut. The Warrior merely nodded their head. “How severe are the injuries?”
“Fractured jaw,” the Warrior recited, eyes a little glazed. “One wrist and one leg are broken, and a few ribs, too. Internal bleeding. Bruises and cuts everywhere.”
“What happened out there?” Alphinaud exclaimed. He rose to his feet, and his sister followed, though her eyes were still cast to the floor. “I mean, we almost lost you, and then he teleported aboard, too, and–”
“Zenos helped me,” the Warrior said suddenly. “We stopped the Song. Then we fought, and I… I couldn’t leave him there.”
Thancred and Urianger exchanged a look. The Warrior took another step into the room, not quite sure who to look at. A thousand emotions swirled through the Scions’ faces.
“Listen,” Thancred said, “I trust your judgment. If you saw fit to bring him back, I can’t argue.”
“Neither can I,” G’raha interjected. He fidgeted slightly in his seat. “Though I admit I’m a little confused as to why.”
Alisaie crossed her arms. “Me, too,” she muttered. “He’s a real piece of work.”
“People can change,” the Warrior argued, tone verging on defensive. “Look at Yotsuyu. Look at Fordola.”
The Elezen girl twisted her lips, though she couldn’t argue the point. Her brother took a go at it, instead.
“But you just said he went up there to fight you again,” Alphinaud countered. “Clearly he has not grown out of his fascination with harming you.”
“He doesn’t want to harm me,” the Warrior said. “It… It wasn’t like that. He challenges me because I’m his only equal. The only person who could ever hope to be a match to him.”
“What are you saying, exactly?” G’raha asked, ears twitching.
The Warrior hesitated. Cast their eyes around the room. A sea of faces stared back, all in various stages of bafflement. All faces the Warrior had come to know, love, and respect. They hung their head.
“I’m sorry,” they told the Scions. “I’ve been keeping a secret.”
In an instant, the room went airless.
“I beg your pardon?” Y’shtola demanded.
“What does that mean?” Alisaie shouted.
“Now, now,” Urianger said, stepping closer. “None of us have ever presumed to be privy to every facet of our comrade’s personal life. I am sure all of us have some intimate business we’d prefer not to air among ourselves. I cannot fault the Warrior for keeping their conversations with us work-related.”
“This is work-related,” Y’shtola shot back. “Zenos has been a thorn in our side for ages!”
“I know, and I’m sorry,” the Warrior said again. “But after that day in Garlemald, after Alisaie told him off, things changed. We talked. Came to understand each other.”
Thancred frowned. “Well, I guess if anyone could understand a guy like that, it might as well be you…” He trailed off, rubbing his chin.
“So you’ve been meeting with him in secret?” Alphinaud asked. The Warrior nodded.
“And what do you do on these rendezvous with the enemy?” Y’shtola pressed, even as Urianger lifted a brow at her tone.
The Warrior sighed. Memories flooded their mind. Soft nights in Ilsabard, splitting a loaf of rationed bread around the coals of a dying fire. Whispering into the crook of his neck as the sky turned pale.
“We just talked. Not about ‘work’ or anything like that — about life, and the past, and the future. He’s lonely. He wants to move on.”
“Tell that to the people left behind in the snow,” Alisaie snapped, and the Warrior winced, because she was right.
His freedom wasn’t fair. For acts like his, there had to be consequences. They’d told Zenos as much the first time he showed up at their door. But he showed up again, and again, and the Warrior realized he had nowhere to go. No one to cling to.
“He’ll atone,” the Warrior said, holding their chin high. “Just like the other architects of the war. I’ll make sure he does.”
“You speak as if you are his shepherd,” Y’shtola said.
When the Warrior did not deny it, the Scions went a little stiller. Another pause.
“Do you… care for him?” G’raha ventured.
The Warrior’s composed facade cracked.
“I do,” they confessed. Tears sprung to their eyes. “And I know Zenos has done a lot of bad, but so have I. I put down hordes of the tempered before there was treatment. They were innocent people. Victims. I held the dying in my arms as they told me their lives were less worthy than mine, like it was just that they died and I did not. And all of us who freed Doma and Ala Migho have Garlean blood on our hands.
“Yes, our righteous cause prevailed, and we saved the star, but I find no peace in that knowledge. I find it only with him. Zenos was groomed for the purpose of destruction, just like I was. We merely served different masters. And now, we both find ourselves at the end of our tasks, with no instructions for our next move. Equally lost. Yes, he is impulsive, and aggressive, and arrogant, but the world isn’t ending anymore — there’s a tomorrow again. One where a man like him might grow and evolve. I have to give him the chance to see it.”
A stunned silence settled over the Scions. Alisaie’s brow knitted with astonishment; Y’shtola’s mouth fell into an ‘O’. The Warrior gritted their teeth, waiting for a wave of scolding, but it never came. Everyone’s faces softened, eyes glazed as if ruminating — everyone but Estinien. He hadn’t said a word in hours, but now the dragoon let out a low chuckle. A smirk graced his lips.
“Didn’t realize you had a thing for blondes,” Estinien said.
Thancred snorted, and with a series of eye rolls and giggles, the tension between the Scions loosened into something breathable. Somewhere deep in the Warrior’s chest, a knot came untied.
“Me, neither,” they replied, allowing themselves a half-smile.
Urianger stepped forward to lay a hand on their shoulder. “Tis plain to me that you have made up your mind,” he said gently. “And just as plain that you hold the prince dear to your heart.”
“Aye,” Y’shtola murmured. “I do not pretend to understand you, my friend, but… I can’t tell you who to love.”
The Warrior wiped their eyes with their sleeve, uttering a teary laugh. G’raha offered a handkerchief, then pulled them into an embrace.
“Whatever makes you happy,” he said, so honest that it made the Warrior cry harder.
Alphinaud smiled to himself, already making a mental checklist of all the ways he could coordinate the prince’s reparation efforts with the Ilsabard Contingent’s. If utilized correctly and led by the Warrior, he thought, Zenos might well be a boon to the reconstruction. In fairness, he didn’t have very many fans left in the area… but that was a bridge to cross later. Right now, all the Warrior should worry about was recovery. Theirs, and their love’s, too.

i think i already made this post but i'm in the brain space and i want to be super clear about my intentions re: dawntrail spoilers, so this is the rundown of how i'll handle them, and how i handle all expansion spoilers!
for the first month following the full release (not the pre-order release), i won't be posting anything at all about dawntrail—no story spoilers, no non-story spoilers, nothing at all until august 2nd 2024.
after that, i usually start posting small spoilers, but not major ones, for anywhere from 6-12 months after release. all these posts WILL be tagged with "7.0 spoilers" (and "7.1/7.2/etc spoilers" when it becomes relevant), and since i've seen it's popular, i'll TRY to tag them as "dawntrail spoilers" for as long as possible too, but full disclosure that isn't how i naturally categorize ffxiv spoilers and that tag may be missed even on early posts, and may disappear much sooner than its patch number counterparts. "7.0 spoilers" is by far the most reliable way to block dawntrail spoilers fro me!
whenever i DO start posting major spoilers, these will be put under a readmore and both tagged as stated above, as well as prefaced before the readmore with a warning that it contains spoilers (and probably some details about what kind of spoilers, ie story/non-story, what level any related quests/zones are, etc).
furthermore, i personally take spoilers REALLY seriously, and will be blacklisting any and all words related to the expansion until i complete the MSQ. because this account is just a sideblog to my main blog, the dashboards are combined, so there's also a chance i will be temporarily blacklisting usernames and/or unfollowing people to avoid spoilers, as i would otherwise have to stay off tumblr as a whole, which would be very boring for me LMAO.
this isn't personal at all! i'm just REALLY allergic to even very small spoilers, and especially because i will likely not be playing dawntrail when its pre-order release goes live, i want to make absolutely sure i avoid spoilers as much as possible. again, once i finish the MSQ, i'll unblacklist and refollow any blogs. :)
i also want to touch on something i feel a lot of regret for regarding how i handled endwalker spoilers with friends: specifically, i had a tendency to debunk friends' theories with pre-endwalker information. at the time i didn't think this was a problem because i also didn't know the answer, just that xyz theory wasn't it because of pre-endwalker info, but in hindsight i think this has a lot of potential to ruin the fun of others who really enjoy speculating on the story as it unfolds, so i'm going to aim to not do that this time around! specifically, i'm not going to debunk other people's theories, EVEN if the info i'd be using comes from pre-dawntrail sources. i just think this was an unfun mistake on my part that i don't want to repeat without explicit permission, and i'm sorry to friends i did this to whose fun i soured in doing so. spoilers are really important to me, and while i know these aren't technically spoilers, i think they still have the potential to hit the same, and i don't want to make anyone feel the way i do when it happens to me.
i think that's everything! i hope everyone has fun in the new expansion, and i look forward to joining you whenever i get my own stuff sorted so i can play too! <3

Blanket of the Seventh Dawn - A Crochet Adventure
Note: This post may contain spoilers up to FFXIV Endwalker
Good Morning, fellow Warriors of Light and Darkness! And/Or my fellow crafters.
After creating my simple G'ra-hat, I was inspired with more rampant ideas for ways I could combine my love for Final Fantasy 14 and my love for crafting. Mix in a little bit of yarn collecting - which I think we all might agree is its own hobby - and the Blanket of the Seventh Dawn project was born.
It's still in baby stages - I want to bring you on this journey, if you'd like to follow along. And I'm happy to share yesterday my yarn arrived, which means I can finally get started.
Tumblr media
Yarn: Arcane Fibre Works | website
I started with matching each of the Scions to a colorway, as well as choosing two additional for my and my husband's Warriors of Light. For my craftyfolk - think of these people as the main characters, the characters you play as well as the friends you meet along the way. In introducing the project, I've made all of my skeins greyscale, as I will reveal each of the characters and their colors as I started working with their skein.
But to give you a small hint - here's the list of characters I'm including: Alisaie, Alphinaud, Estinien, G'raha Tia, Krile, Lyse, Minfilia, Papalymo, Tataru, Thancred, Urianger, Y'shtola. Just in case, I'll continue to tag these posts under ffxiv spoilers, and for full disclosure, I am currently in Endwalker MSQ content.
All of the yarn was purchased from Arcane Fibre Works. I've worked with their yarns before, and I knew they had a large variety for me to search their colors for those that sang Scion.
I'll be turning all of these colors into granny squares, which I am thinking of doing solid to let some of these chaos colors shine. Once all of the squares are complete, the plan is to combine them into one large blanket. Each character should have a few squares. But that's for later along the project.
For now, I am super excited to get started and to share this journey with you. As far as who we start with...? Let's roll a d12 and find out, shall we?
TBC...

✩ Raen Au'ra ✩ Nameday -> 17th Sun of the 6th Umbral Moon ✩ ARR-32 -> Post-HW to Stb-33 -> SHB-34 -> EW-35 ✩ Born in Doma, moved to Limsa Lominsa ✩ Main Classes: Gunbreaker & Viper ✩ Side Classes: Dragoon & Ninja ✩ Main Ship: Thancred ✩ Relationships with the Scions (link)
Originally born in Doma, he had once been involved in the resistance, but after a huge misunderstanding where he got accused of being a Garlean spy, he ended up leaving the nation, taking up residence in Eorzea. His innocence had been proven, but there was still an air of mistrust, and he didn't want to be viewed as a criminal anymore, so he left despite being asked to stay. He lived in Limsa Lominsa and had been unaware that he had the Echo up until the Battle of Carteneau happened. He had intended to leave, not wanting to be involved in another nation's war, but ended up staying and assisting due to Hydaelyn's interference. Watching the world fall apart, burning all around as the moon fell, he found himself needing to help, he couldn't walk away.
He's accepted his role as a Warrior of Light relatively easily, though he has his doubts now and then on whether or not he's good enough to be looked to the way the others do. He's missed having others rely on him to an extent, but being looked to for guidance is something new that he still isn't quite used to.
Takara is a relatively quiet man, though he has been doing his best to be better about it. He was closed off during the first month with the Scions, but as time passed, they slowly managed to worm their ways passed the wall he had put up after the incident in Doma. Behind his seemingly cold exterior, they found a warm man with a gentle smile and an even gentler touch. He did his best to avoid accidentally hurting those close to him and tried everything in his power to be someone they could depend on.
After his first fight with Zenos, he became a bit obsessed with growing stronger and that obsession never went away, even after he defeated Zenos. The need to be as strong as he possibly can be buzzes beneath his skin and he trains constantly so that he can protect those around him.
His eyes and scales never really went back to normal after the Light Corruption, even when he tried to find ways to fix it. The limbal rings stayed that blinding white, his scales forever paper white, and despite his best to pretend like it didn't bother him, it clearly did, especially whenever someone asked about it. He refuses to explain the cause and the Scions don't tell anyone either, knowing how much it would upset him if they did.

Oh yeah, and I. finished the last Endwalker patch yesterday.
Done with MSQ until Dawntrail. I can pull all the spoiler words out of my blacklist. I can follow more people! (I've had to be really selective about only following people who tag.) I can go back and read the spoilers that people added on posts of mine!
It's been such a wild ride since I fell into this game by weird happenstance a year and a half ago, never expecting that I would stick to it and it to me. I'm by no means finished--I still have so much to keep me entertained, including a bunch of activities I've saved specifically for endgame. It still feels momentous, though. I'm still emotional about it!
I think Shadowbringers is still my favorite expansion, but I really loved Endwalker and honestly now that I can look back over the whole long story arc, I don't see the different expansions as so separate from each other, like "This one is good and this one is bad." I mean first of all, I don't think any of them are bad. I could criticize each of them for something but I love them all, and moreover I love the overarching story they tell together. I think most of all that every one of them is necessary to that story and has something important to say within it.
I have Dawntrail pre-ordered, and I'm looking forward to it. I also have plenty to do in the meantime though, so I'm not sorry to have a couple months to focus on other things... plus, there's so much I want to write, and hopefully I'll have some things finished and ready to post before DT comes around.

Hi to my followers! Just a quick heads up, I finished Endwalker the other day and I fully intend to start reblogging lots of fanart and crap to help me process my emotions. If you're not interested in seeing posts like that or don't want to be spoiled, I'll be primarily using the tags #ffxiv and #ffxiv spoilers, so you can filter those if you need to. =)
Now please excuse me as I transform this into a G'raha Tia stan blog (this is not an April Fool's joke - ok maybe only a little)
