what in my hero academia appeals to you the most

the overall theme of the story is really one of my favorites. even if i havent liked every single way this series has played out, there’s a lot i love about what it represents. there’s a lot of remorse / being recognized that you are more than your mistakes or the abuse you have suffered. that u are worthy of being saved. i think it’s really nice

aside from that, there’s just a lot of characters which brings along a ton of dynamics that u can play around with! makes it really enjoyable to see how they could interact with each other and how that could influence their behavior.. like hawks may not have actually hung out with the league, but the IDEAAA of him becoming their friend, learning the similarities in his upbringing to theirs, being put in the position where he begins to question his loyalty to his job, coming face to face with the whole “don’t meet your idols” once he learns of dabi’s abuse coming from endeavor.. all of that is interesting to me because there’s so many ways it could have been played out, even if it didn’t exactly turn out like that in canon

I voted for Dabi's Dance as the best chapter in the Week 3 poll. It's still super iconic and it out-trended the US election on twitter lol. Also,, I think it's the villain chapter with the best chance of ending up on the ranking list (hopefully)

the manga started going downhill with endeavors redemption. all the signs for this ending were there tbh like endvr being the main focus of todofam arc, hox killing twice and no one caring about it, dabis backstory being told from his abusers perspective, no focus on lov post-plf war (how the fuck did toga get back, did tomura ever find out about twice), deku finding out about hpsc assassinations and immediately forgetting about it, everything involving lady nagant, aoyama being fucking tied up and muzzled, ive been saying for years this manga would end terribly and that the league were just plot devices for the hero students

Yeah ofc!! It’s mostly that my hyperfixation/whatever it was waned, I don’t have as much interest in the story anymore, and though I still have soft spots for some of the characters (izuku, shouto and the other todorokis*, a couple other people from class 1a+1b, shigaraki & toga etc) & hope they have satisfying endings, that’s not enough for me to pick up the manga every week when like half the time I hated the choices horikoshi was making. Plus the current arc has about a billion subplots that have to be wrapped up and because of that it’s dragged on forever (not to say that there are no good parts ofc it’s just taking forever and I know there are longer arcs in manga but I’m just not into this one). I do hope it ends in a way people are happy with (and I definitely have several personal versions of the story in my head that I think about sometimes when the interest comes back a little), I just don’t have the motivation to keep up with it anymore, especially since I’m into other things now. I’ll still probably post abt bnha occasionally if cute art comes across my dash/if I start thinking about it again, but I don’t think it’s likely that it’s gonna go back to being a staple of this blog lol (maybe I should change my username then…). Ty for asking, I hope that makes sense lol!!

Every time I think about how MHA goes out of its way to keep abusers like AFO, Overhaul, and Ujiko alive while "bad" victims of abuse like Tomura and Dabi are deemed irredeemable and "must die" I get so sad

With the way the author writes the story do you really think shouto is going to have any actual problem from the things he went through? (im still haunted by hawks and endvr's public "im sorry :(" for the things they did) (sorry for the english)

I'm not sure, but Shoto's problem with the public have been long teased in the story. Starting from the Deku retrieval where he's separated from the class and is stuck outside UA:

To the bath chapter:

To how surprised he is that his family came to say goodbye:

To Dabi calling him calamity incarnate:

To Natsuo commenting on the hell to come:

It would be weird if this was not addressed in the coming chapters, especially with Deku talking about how peace is not automatic. In the story we already have examples of the families being impacted by villain children (Gentle and Toga both get disowned by their families).

So the Todoroki family not distancing themselves from Toya I think is painted as the exception that would be subject to controversy. In the Dark Hero arc, this was mostly focused on Endeavor (because UA kind of sheltered the rest of them), but now they have no choice but be out in the public and make a stance one way or another.

It's a debate that the manga set up, and the Todorokis being so high profile as a family with both positive and negative contributions in the war, they provide probably the best battleground for the question of how to treat villains.
