You turn your head away bashfully, tapping your fingers against your thighs.

Bakugo strolls into the living room and observes all the items on the floor. He leans down to leave a kiss on your cheek before turning to head for the bathroom to shower.

“Ya know I can get ya that shit for free, babe,” he calls over his shoulder. “I am Dynamight.”

“I know!” You answer, picking up one of the keychains and smiling. “Just being a supportive girlfriend is all.”

Curly's little blurb on his steam trading card just keeps reminding me he is a much more miserable person than people realize.

We don't get a lot of his thoughts, inner confliction that aren't bogged down by what Jimmy says or does. Even in the The Last One and Then Another, his dialogue is reflective, not the Curly before the crash but the result of everything. Parts of the him he was are there of course, but also disfigured and warped beyond recognition just like he is physically.

Curly really doesn't think much of himself and desires. He clearly chases fleeting moments of happiness. He doesn't really have prospects for himself, assumes in a similar way to Swansea, that if it should make it happy then he is happy. Though, he hasn't reached the point Swansea did to admit it doesn't. He neither sees the glass half full or empty, it's just water, something he needs and he'll take it from any perspective.

He wasn't running from anything but he's never really been going towards something either. He's listless. I've been using the term complacent to describe how he feels about his life and the closest people (really just Jimmy) in it, but now that word feels too neutral, too nice. Happier than Curly really was. There isn't just one word for it, he's unfulfilled, uncertain, uninspired. There are no active problems he faces and that's the issue, why should he be upset?

I believe he really is a person who doesn't know who he is or wants to be. He follows a structure. I don't think he's suicidal, but he clearly doesn't think about what makes him happy. He's numb. I suppose that is a better word than complacent, used to the feeling even if he hates it. It doesn't hurt so why stop it?

can you IMAGINE. the impact that hob settling into one of his happiest careers spreading stories has on this entity. dream just white knuckling the table when he finds out and every time they meet after. palm over his mouth incandescent w lust every time hob talks about poetry. eye twitching and legs crossed when he fondly starts going on in different languages about different classics. he is the chattiest he's ever been, which makes hob perk up and chat back more, so far out from the printing press, and dream is just DYING over here.

Nobody ever talks about how did Professor Gadling got his degree. He looks young, he very much stands out from other professors at the university. First year students are always suprised to see a guy who can't be over 40 with such a high degree. But they don't ask because it's impolite.

And Hob is so grateful because this story is more embarrasing than he'd wish it was. One time, when he and his greatest friend got really drunk, he started yapping about the evolution of the English language. In medieval English. His friend, as the bastard he is, gave him a pen and a piece of paper, telling him to write it down. And Hob did.

Few months later he got a letter with congratulations for the influence on the development of philological knowledge. He had no idea what was happening until a very talkative raven explained everything. Of course, all after he finished laughing his feathers out.

But, what is even more funny is that in The Sandman it's the opposite : the Enemies to Friends was almost 700y and the Friends to Lovers last no more than 1 week in most fanfiction.
