With New Year's approaching, I was super curious.
How would each of the Sans spend New Year's with Mottie?
Love your work! (I live on a ranch and Farmer has my heart right now)
Thank you so much!! He's definitely my comfort character right now 🥹
I hope you enjoy this and also I hope you have a wonderful New Years! 🎆
Sans🛋:
He likes to keep things really simple. He loves parties but he's definitely the type to be glued to the couch and watch everyone from a distance. This includes watching Motti interact with others. There's just something about watching the way she interacts with each person that fills him with a sense of ease.
But as it strikes closer to midnight, he'll leave his spot and ask Motti to come with him. He'll shortcut her to the roof and wrap a blanket around them both. As it strikes midnight the fireworks in the neighboring city go off, and he'll kiss her cheek. (Which she steals a full on kiss in return)
Big Red🔭:
He's not a fan of boring get-togethers and just chilling with his family. He's more used to living it up at the bar, where everyone is sloshed to the nines. But he knows that's not Motti's jam, and that she's not a fan of loud and rowdy places. He'll do something different for her, and for himself, by taking her to the mountains where the light pollution doesn't reach.
In the back of the truck, he's got blankets and his telescope set up. He's unsure by the whole thing and trying to save face that he's not at all embarrassed by this display of love, but he gradually becomes more relaxed as the night goes on. Once it hits midnight he's about to kiss her when Motti beats him to it. It throws him off and makes him super flustered.
Boysen🍷:
The week leading up to this he has been mad busy with work, but even so, he made arrangements at a popular and expensive restaurant. He has rented out the entire rooftop for the evening and it will be just Motti and him. He messages her the day of and says to be ready and dress up. He may or may have not sent her several outfits and jewelry for her to choose from. Boysen will come home and quickly get ready himself, and shoot glances at Motti when she makes remarks she's ready before he is.
The evening is spent dining and making quips at each other while they enjoy a fire in front of them. The location he chose has the best view once midnight hits and the fireworks go off, but both of them were long locked lips that they never saw them. 💋
Farmer🌾:
Everyone is gathered outside at his and Pap's place, and have set up a movie projector and snacks galore. No one is really paying attention to the movie, which is fine because it's just there for anyone's enjoyment. However, Motti will be wondering where Sans is though. He has rarely been seen all night and so, she ends up finding him on the veranda sitting on the porch swing.
He beckons her over and while she's getting situated he pulls out a thermos and pour some hot apple cider. While curious, Motti will ask if he's not enjoying the festivities and he tells her that it's nice to have everyone here, but he just wants to see the new years with just her. Motti will rest her head on his shoulder and he rests his head on top of hers. They both go into the new year looking at the stars and hearing the distant cheering at midnight.
Dream⏳️:
It's not really something he celebrates since acknowledging the passage of time is a mortal thing. However, that doesn't mean he does not care when it's important to Motti greeting a new year. He'll hang around at the party she's throwing, but he's standing off to the side like a pretty wallflower and observing the festivities.
He has a red cup in his hands, but he more or less has it to feel like he's fitting in. The party has started off fun, but he's just around so many people, and in an enclosed area, that his empathic abilities are starting to overwhelm his senses.
Motti takes note that Dream is looking off and takes him elsewhere that is vastly more secluded. She gives him the option to leave, but he refuses. Every second, every minute with Motti is important and that means celebrating the concept of time with her no matter what.
Cross😵‍💫:
To be honest, he gets invited to the party and has a grand time, but he's inwardly nervous. He was just told about the tradition of kissing at midnight and he spends majority of the time hyping himself up to kiss her.
He's overthinking about it; does he just swoop her up and kiss her? Maybe dipping her??? He could also spin her around and into his arms before cooly and awesomely placing a big fat kiss on her lips.
But he starts thinking of all the ways he could mess up and now in a mix of confidence rising at one thought and shattering his own self-esteem the next.
With midnight just minutes away, he's standing near Motti wondering what tactic to choose, and when the clock strikes midnight he's frozen in performance anxiety. Motti doesn't hesitate and grabs his shirt collar and pulls him in for a deep kiss. He was worried for nothing.
Error🆘️:
He doesn't care much for it. Hell, he doesn't really even remember what's the point of celebrating when he was trapped in the anti-void. But Motti is yapping about the importance of celebrating and he begrudgingly finds himself wearing a party hat and party horn stuck in his mouth.
He hates it he doesnt, it's not fun at all he's having a blast and doesn't like the streamers Motti put up or the table filled with his favorite snacks he already devoured the chocolate. He's sitting on his bean bag like a perturbed cat being disturbed during their nap. But Motti mentions she wanted to spend it with just him and part of him wants to believe it so badly. Motti asks if she can give him a kiss on the cheek and he becomes a flustered mess, and begins short circuiting at the thought.
Ink🌌:
He takes Motti through multiple AUs and changes their outfits to fit each occasion. He's party crashing and eating the food, while Motti is trying to play devil's advocate and calm down all the people Ink has upset.
By the end of the night, she is growing exhausted, but Ink will take her to Outertale and he finally calms down. Motti gets to enjoy the beauty of space and finally relax. He will paint the scenery before him, including Motti, effortlessly and gift it to her.
Nightmare🥷:
To be honest, he will swoop in at the stroke of midnight and steal Motti away right in front of everyone. He relishes in their shock expressions and rash responses.
He spends the rest of the night huddling a pouty Motti to his chest, chuckling the whole time.

stolen — lee x f!commandant
Tumblr media
The summer sun is gentle on his skin.
A streak of sunlight slipping through the curtains, dancing on the surface of his skin. A gentle roar of the wind knocking on the walls, tickling his exposed neck. Summer was gentle, summer was kind, the humid breeze enough to lull Lee back to sleep—a feeling that Lee was both familiar and unfamiliar with.
And so was the tiny affirmation of a gargled yawn from a baby.
Wait—baby?
Lee opens his eyes out of surprise. Instead of the cold, gray hues of the training room, a warm honey brown paints him a picture. Wooden walls and chairs in the living room, a veranda with the free-flowing white curtains. The ceiling was enough too, a small lamp dangling.
Looking down, in his arms cradled a small baby inside of a white cloth, innocent eyes closed as it snuggled for warmth.
It must have been the afternoon nap, Lee deducts, he must have fallen asleep while resting from training. By now, he should have been alert. This new scenery was something that Babylonia could never achieve. Yet, instead of fear, content and familiarity fills his senses.
“—ray brought us some fresh vegetables today, so no need to buy some.”
Turning to the sound of a new voice, Lee meets warm, homey eyes looking at him.
“Honey!” you warmly greeted, the familiar smile reaching your twinkling eyes, “Sorry I took so long to come home, was he too fussy?”
Lee's mouth drops. So could have his body, but the hold in his arms strengthened instinctively, to not drop the fragile baby. Oh, he couldn't believe his eyes.
“...Commandant?”
The last time he saw you, your uniform was freshly washed and ironed, hugging your taut figure and watching him with tired eyes. You were on your way to a short mission. But now—hair down, a pretty sundress flowing as the wind blows, and face devoid of any stress.
You look magnificent as ever, glowing bright in the afternoon mist.
As a comfortable silence encloses both of you, you seem to recognize the confusion in his stare. With a small laugh and a shake of your head, you slowly sauntered to Lee.
“Yes, Lee.” You softly said, “it's me.”
Lee senses no malice nor anything bad about you. You were the truth—the same aura that he had long sensed from you, whether in uniform or not.
You reached out to take the little baby in his arms, letting him go free from Lee's arms. With a gentle smile, you said, “I see our little man has been good to you.”
Our little man? A flutter erupts in Lee's chest. “Yes, I was worried he was asleep far too long because he hadn't cried.”
“I guess he's been tired too,” You laugh, finger hovering above the baby's sleeping face, “he was the one who kept waking up anyways. He needed his nap.”
Ah, it really is the afternoon. The summer breeze blowing, your sundress in the wind, a gentle ray of light haloing your figures. Watching as you step back, cradling the small baby in your arms with a motherly gaze. Lee's heart, although had been long mechanical for as long as he could remember, started to throb harder. How simple this scenery unfolded in front of him, yet it was incredibly intimate.
Maybe it was the heat. Or maybe it was really how nice you looked, caring for the baby. Or maybe it was...
“You...” Lee mutters, which catches your attention, “...you are so beautiful.”
And your laugh still sounds the same. Like a jingle of a bell, and it makes his chest beat wildly. A faint blush dusts your cheeks, as you slowly swing the baby.
“So I've been told,” you wave your hand, a noticeable glint of something golden as sunlight hits, “And you are handsome yourself, Lee.”
Looking from you, Lee glances at the baby back in your arms. With a small crack of his tiny eyes, he yawns, a small cry from his throat. Lee slightly jumps from his actions.
“Oh, are you awake, little guy?” You cooed, both of you watching as the baby slowly wakes up.
How tender it is—such a fragile thing to awaken in your arms. And yet, the sense of content and pride wells up once more in his chest, seeing you cradle your bundle of joy. You must have looked so ethereal like this in a different life.
With a little kiss to his forehead, you look at Lee, who was eyeing him curiously. “Look, little Aidan, your papa is here.”
Lee freezes, both fear and surprise. “Papa?”
“Mm,” you hum, bringing Aidan closer, “He's our baby, Lee. Our little pride and joy.”
How was it possible? Lee couldn't think further, as tears began to well up in his eyes, “Ah...our baby...”
Reaching out to touch his face, Aidan's tiny hands managed to hold onto Lee's finger. A content squeal chokes out of your baby's mouth, eyes slowly opening to reveal beautiful cerulean irises. A similar glint of a golden band from his outstretched hand is finally noticed.
“Isn't he so lovely, Lee?” You whisper, watching as Lee holds back his tears, “Aidan looks like you, too. Like his papa.”
Maybe it doesn't matter. In the middle of the summer afternoon, Lee closes the distance in between you. Human arms wrapped around you, a small sigh from his lips. You're both careful not to squeeze the baby in your arms. And it feels like home. You're both safe in this space, in your small home. It's familiar, it's all yours—
“I love you, [Y/N].” He mutters, moving away to look at you, “I...really love you. I want to spend the rest of this life with you.”
“You promised me that a long while, Lee.” You breathed in the familiar smell of him, “I love you, Lee.”
And Lee kisses you, the familiar taste of your lips enough to prove that you are real, that you exist.
...
“...you're thinking quite hard again, Lee.”
By the time he opens his eyes, Lee finds himself back at Babylonia's training room.
Back at your arms. “[Y/N]?”
Realizing the situation, you chuckle. “Ah, did you go back for a while? What did you see this time?”
Despite the free-looking face of yours in that reality, you still looked like the same Commandant Lee fell in love with a long time ago. With a harsh pull of the necktie of your uniform, you squealed as Lee catches you in a fierce kiss.
When you pull away, you notice the flushed tint in his cheeks. “Lee?”
“...You...are so pretty,” Lee breathes, “Can we go back to your room.”
A little confused, but Lee must have seen something nice in his dream.
Tumblr media
would u believe me that this is a sneak peek to the planned story I have with lee 👀
also I have baby fever with lee as the daddy 😭🥺🧡

Queenslanders
Many locations have housing types that because of local conditions become very common and come to define an area. Los Angeles dingbats, auto worker housing in Detroit, and Texas donuts are some examples.
But we’re not here to talk those, we’re going to talk about Queenslanders, the type of house the Heelers live in. Like so much of “Bluey”, they’re depicted very realistically.
Tumblr media
Queenslanders are the term for a type of house that became commonplace in Queensland, Australia, particularly in Brisbane. (Note the term can also refer to the construction style, so other types of building could be called Queenslanders too.)
They date back to the 1840s when Brisbane was expanding rapidly. Queensland's population increased rapidly from 30,000 inhabitants in 1861 to half a million by 1901 due to a mining boom. Housing was needed that could be constructed rapidly. In the early 20th century, these homes were available as kits from lumber suppliers but were also built by home-building firms, they could be constructed rapidly while maintaining a high level of quality.
Construction and Features
These homes tend to be large: this was intentional as when Brisbane was developing, a minimum lot size was specified to prevent very cramped/dense slum areas that had become an issue in other Australian cities.
These homes were constructed of readily-available low-cost materials: wooden planks and metal roofs, typically a single-level on wooden “stumps”.
This use of these stump posts as the footings for the house had multiple benefits. It protected against flooding (i.e. this lower area could flood without destroying the home’s contents), keeps bugs out (the posts would use metal caps to keep ants from climbing up into the house), and allowed the homes to be built rapidly without the need to smooth out/level the terrain with earth-moving equipment, and also allows the building to be easily moved, raised, etc. if need be.
Note how the Heeler’s house appears to have part of the lower level upgraded while part of it is still an unimproved crawlspace-type area.
Tumblr media
Other features include:
Spinning rooftop ventilators to allow hot air to be expelled from the house.
Gabled roofs with steep pitches, typically with fireproof metal roofs (originally corrugated iron, now steel as used on barn roofs), as this was material readily available, could stand up to heavy rains, and was easily replaced in the event of cyclone damage. (Most episodes of Bluey show the house with flatter-style steel barn-type roofing, but “Hammerbarn” shows corrugated metal!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have verandas (porches) that wrap around the house but do not enclose the house entirely. Sometimes these get enclosed to create additional indoor living space. The veranda serves as an indoor/outdoor space, and can even be used as a sleeping area in the summer.
Tumblr media
The crawlspace area could be used as a shaded play area, workshop, etc. and many were ultimately upgraded into living space but this eliminated the protection against flooding. (This space would be vulnerable)
Tumblr media
Inside the rooms are connected and designed with lots of openings to allow for airflow to keep them cool. (As there was no air conditioning at the time.)
(When I did the series of house walkthrough posts I noted how there are often open windows and good airflow throughout the house)
These homes have a light, breezy feel, often being compared to treehouses, or tents. This can also be a criticism; the walls can be thin (making privacy an issue) and hard to insulate, which wasn’t a consideration when they were constructed.
Tumblr media
These features combine to make these homes well-adapted to the warm & humid climate of Queensland, where rainfall is heavy and the average summer temperature is typically in the range of 23–36°C (73–97°F). Brisbane is located in a low-lying swamp area and is prone to flooding.
They began falling out of favour after WWII. One reason for this was that earth-moving technology had improved meaning it was no longer necessary to build using stumps, as uneven land could be levelled for building.

The Hidden Gardens of Kyoto
Photographs by Katsuhiko Mizuno - Text by Masaaki Ono
Kodansha International, Tokyo 2004, 198 pages, 23x30,3cm, ISBN 9784770029379
euro 49,00

The Hidden Gardens of Kyoto is the attractive sequel to Landscapes for Small Spaces by the same photographer, Katsuhiko Mizuno. In this new book, Mizuno introduces the gardens of Kyoto that are not easily accessible or are totally closed to the public. Mizuno was born in Kyoto and has spent most of his life in this old capital, established in the eighth century. Kyoto is not susceptible to short-term fashions, and this rigidness can be seen in the way it has kept the tradition of garden art alive over the centuries in public and private spaces. Thanks to his familiarity with the city, Mizuno has been able to penetrate its hidden corners and capture the beauty of unknown gardens with his cameras. The Hidden Gardens of Kyoto displays more than fifty gardens, from private dwellings to the Imperial Palaces and Villas, temples, tea schools and shrines. The elements and structure of each garden are explained by Masaaki Ono, who studied under the greatest twentieth-century garden designer, Mirei Shigemori. Plans drawn by Ono also accompany some of the garden descriptions. Some Japanese gardens are planned so as to be seen from one vantage point, but many are designed for viewing from multiple angles. In his previous book, Mizuno only showed us one aspect per garden, but this time we are given various views as we explore the stroll gardens or look down from the verandas of the buildings surrounding enclosed gardens. This three-dimensional approach will help both professional and amateur garden designers and landscape architects to understand the structure as well as the diverse vegetation used in one garden.

Wolcred Week 2023: Tea|Family
(The final section of this takes place the day before the last prompt as I will pad out certain parts of 6.4 it's our timeline and we can do what we want Yoshi-P said so. A series of scenes across MSQ that borrows some lines of dialogue from 4.5 and 6.4, clocking in at around 1500 words, about my pair's experiences with the topics.)
“Aeryn!” Minfilia waved, smile bright as she and Thancred sat together in the Solar, a tea service upon the small table between them.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to interrupt,” Aeryn said, turning back to the door.
“Not at all,” Thancred replied, standing and gesturing towards the seat he had vacated. “Minfilia enjoys her weekly tea party, and the more the merrier.” He snagged another chair and brought it over.
“Everyone else is off on their own business, but you continue to have fortuitous timing,” Minfilia said as Aeryn joined them, hesitating before taking the chair Thancred offered; he did not sit again until she did.
“A lovely tea service,” Aeryn said. The set was gleaming silver with colorful crystal inlays in an elegant, sinuous style she had never seen before.
“An inheritance, from the elderly woman who taught me some Ala Mhighan traditions,” Minfilia said as she poured for Aeryn. “I was young when my father and I fled, but when Lhaminn took me in, we had a neighbor who had once been a merchant that worked closely with the Ananta artisans, and she shared such things with me.”
Aeryn tilted her head quizzically.
“A tribe in Gyr Abania,” Thancred explained. “It’s said they’re all women, but instead of legs they have snake bodies. They’re supposed to be excellent crafters of metals and crystals.”
Aeryn nodded. “Reminds me of stories of the gods in Thavnair.”
“Oh, do tell!” Minfilia asked. Thancred sighed good-naturedly, throwing Aeryn an encouraging smile.
Tea stretched on through the rest of the afternoon and into the evening as they spoke and laughed together.
“Master Thancred, welcome!” The Fortemps manservant smiled genuinely as he led Thancred inside. “The Count was delighted to hear you’d accepted his invitation.”
Tataru’s doing; she had informed Thancred he had been invited and that he would be cleaning himself up and attending or Thal help him. So here he was, hair neatly pulled back, a small patch over his injured eye, in a simple white jacket, black slacks, and short boots that their coinkeeper had set out for him.
There were times he did not mind dressing up and rubbing elbows with nobility for a change of pace, practicing his charms and social skills on the upper crust. Today, though, he would much rather be in the Forgotten Knight’s lower rooms, drinking and playing card games that could end in a knife fight.
But the Count was the Scions’ patron in Ishgard, and he had to play his part.
The servant led him to an unfamiliar space; a veranda enclosed all in glass, walls and ceiling, leaning upon one side of the manor, the garden stretching around them before wending down in a series of switchbacks, stretching at least three levels below.
“Welcome,” Count Edmont said with his usual warmth. “Thank you for joining us.”
“Thancred!” Alphinaud said with delight. He seemed both more his youthful age and yet also matured after the trials that had led them to this cold, vertically-built city. Thancred smiled in response and reflected once more that Louisoix would be proud of the young man his grandson was growing into.
Aeryn turned in her own chair, nodding in greeting. She wore a simple blue wool dress, high collar, long sleeves, and he couldn’t see what shoes she wore under the long skirt. She looked quite graceful and lovely, with her soft dark tresses brushing her shoulders…
Thancred looked away to greet the Count’s sons.
Tataru soon joined them, pretty in a pink and white dress, in the company of Lord Aymeric, wearing a formal alpine coat in Borel colors rather than his usual armor. He still moved slowly from the Tournament and how it had exacerbated his still-healing prior injury.
“Y’shtola has returned to Mor Dhona,” Tataru said, apologetic.
“Yes, she sent word,” Count Edmont said. “Still, ‘tis nice to have most of the family together for tea, after such a rousing victory on the Tournament field.”
Thancred found himself exchanging a look with Aeryn. For all his japes about Ishgard needing her to win, he had to admit they had put on a good showing all their own; Raubahn might have done for them if Aeryn had not been there, but there was no shame in losing to the Champion of the Bloodsands.
She smiled sheepishly, blush coloring her cheeks, and Thancred was somehow distracted enough that he almost missed Lord Artoirel’s questions about the cyclops.
“Greetings! Could it be that I'm in time for tea?”
Aeryn, Y’shtola, and Alisaie looked up as Thancred strode toward their table, the dust of the road and the windblown look of an airship ride about him. “It certainly looks that way," Alisaie said. "Come on─sit down and tell us how your investigations went.”
Thancred took the seat next to Aeryn. They briefly exchanged soft smiles; Alisaie and Y’shtola exchanged their own glances, the adolescent rolling her eyes. Y’shtola’s lip twitched in amused reply.
At some point, Y’shtola mused, she would have to point out that they were not keeping their affair as secret as they thought. There were more pressing matters at the moment, however, such as Alisaie’s concern for her brother, and the update Thancred brought from Gyr Abania.
Thancred picked up his mug, frowned, and looked at the silver and colored crystal tea service, in now-familiar sinuous Ananta designs. “Where’d this come from?”
“F'lhaminn,” Alisaie answered. “She said something about this is the service one ought to use for a family tea today, despite it being a working tea, really.”
“Oh,” Aeryn said. “She’s right; today’s the day we’d use this set.”
Y’shtola watched Thancred as he frowned, and then, glancing at Aeryn and her gentle sympathizing look, he visibly relaxed and smiled. “So it is,” he said quietly. Then he straightened, pouring himself a cup. “Now, to business…”
Y’shtola relaxed as well. She would explain to Alisaie later, if Aeryn did not. For now, best to appreciate this bit of comfort as they dealt with difficult matters.
“I simply must insist!” Dulia-Chai exclaimed. “We cannot possibly let you leave without refreshment, and it IS teatime! Right, dear?!”
Ryne suppressed a giggle as Chai-Nuzz sputtered an agreement. Thancred sighed and opened his mouth to again decline, but Aeryn took his arm and quietly reminded him what day of the week it was.
“What about it…” he paused, eyes slightly squinching in a way Ryne recognized as him converting Vrantic to Eorzean, or vice versa. Then he blinked, looking to Aeryn and her expectant face. “You’re right,” he replied with a chuckle. “I suppose it is the day for family tea.” He turned his charming smile to Dulia. “Very well, dear lady.”
“Splendid!” she cried, clapping her hands in joy, then hooking an arm through the one of Thancred’s that Aeryn didn’t have, and marching them all toward her parlor, while Chai-Nuzz and Ryne hurried along after.
Ryne wasn’t sure what the “family tea” comments and looks were about, but it sounded nice. She would just have to ask them once they sat down—assuming Dulia let anyone have a word in edgewise!
“Unto thee we must also give thanks, Thancred, for coming to our aid on such short notice,” Urianger said.
“Please, you know I'm always happy to help. Don't hesitate to call on me again.”
“Not leaving already are you?” Aeryn asked with a frown.
Thancred stretched and winced. “Well, I was going to grab a meal at the Last Stand and then spend the night at the Annex before tending to my next bit of business.” He turned a wicked grin on her. “Fear I’ll deprive you of my company all too soon, my lady?”
The expected blush flared across her cheeks, making Urianger, Varshahn, and Estinien chuckle, while Zero watched, still not understanding the flirtations the pair kept exchanging since Thancred had joined them. “Well,” Aeryn said. “After that little adventure, we might as well all go to the Last Stand together. Including you, Varshahn.”
He shrugged good-naturedly. “I could hardly decline such an invitation. I shall even partake, since we will be in public.”
“This is a good opportunity to replenish our aether, since we did not take advantage of the font,” Zero noted.
Thancred linked his arm with Aeryn’s. “Do you know what day it is?” he asked her as they began to trek from the pier to the restaurant.
“Oh! Too bad we haven’t the proper tea service here.”
“Nay, ‘tis still safely at the Rising Stones under Mistress Tataru’s ever-watchful eyes,” Urianger interjected. “And yet, the date and time is correct for tea with family and new friends.”
Thancred nodded. “Indeed; a good learning opportunity for Zero as well, I do believe.”
Zero tugged her hat brim as the others smiled.
“Fear not, Zero,” Estinien said warmly. “Our resident lovebirds only mean to introduce you to a Scion family tradition. And trust me, there’s no getting out of it.”
He laughed as Aeryn turned her head to stick her tongue out at him, before returning to her conversation with Thancred as they led the way, together.

Benjamin Franklin Coppess House
209 Washington St.
Greenville. OH
The Benjamin Franklin Coppess House is a historic Queen Anne and Stick-Eastlake style house located at 209 Washington Street (State Routes 49/121) in Greenville, Ohio. Its builder, Benjamin Coppess, was a farmer and local government official in Darke County and the grandson of one of the county's earliest pioneers. Built in 1882, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This historic residence is made more beautiful by the extraordinary flower gardens planted expertly by the current resident which accent the property and period structures (gazebo/pavilion) within.
Featuring an unusually detailed Stick-Eastlake brick facade, the Coppess House is a T-shaped building that is supported by a stone foundation; the roof is asphalt, and minor elements of stone are also visible. A large enclosed porch and a veranda wrap around the "lower" portion of the "T," which faces the street, while above and behind the porch, placed at the base of the "T," sits a large bay window. The porch is among the most significant components of the building, due to elements such as exquisitely detailed arches formed of tiny spindles, which sprout from columns meant to resemble massive table legs. One must walk under one such arch to use the porch's main entrance, located on one of its corners, and three more such arches are placed on the front and on the side to either side of the entrance. Small gables are placed over the porch's main entrance and a subsidiary one, decorated with small sculptures, both carved and molded.
On March 10, 1978, the Coppess House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, qualifying because of its historically significant architecture; it is one of two such houses on Washington Street, along with the Leftwich House elsewhere in the same block. As well as its distinctive porch, the house is historically significant because of a bathroom — it is believed to have been the first Greenville building with a flush toilet.

Residential Architecture in Kolkata: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity
Kolkata, often referred to as the "Cultural Capital of India," boasts a rich architectural heritage that reflects its historical evolution and cultural diversity. Residential Architecture in Kolkata The city’s residential architecture is a vibrant tapestry of colonial structures, traditional Bengali homes, and contemporary designs, making it a fascinating study for architects, homeowners, and enthusiasts alike.
Historical Influences
The residential architecture of Kolkata has been shaped significantly by its colonial past. The British colonial era introduced grand mansions and bungalows, characterized by high ceilings, expansive verandas, and intricate cornices. These structures often feature large windows and sprawling gardens, providing a glimpse into the lifestyle of the colonial elite.
One notable example is the Bengal Renaissance style, which emerged in the 19th century. This architectural movement blended European styles with Indian elements, resulting in unique homes that showcased ornate decorations, traditional motifs, and local materials. The result is an eclectic mix of Indo-Saracenic, Gothic, and neoclassical styles that can still be seen in areas like North Kolkata and Chowringhee.
Traditional Bengali Homes
The traditional Bengali home, or "Bangal," is another significant aspect of Kolkata's residential architecture. These homes typically feature a central courtyard (known as a "poush") that allows for natural light and ventilation. The use of brick and clay tiles is common, reflecting the region's abundant resources.
The design often incorporates large windows with wooden frames, which not only enhance ventilation but also provide a visual connection with the outdoors. Elements like jharokhas (overhanging enclosed balconies) and intricate wooden carvings are prominent features, adding to the charm and cultural significance of these homes.
Modern Residential Architecture
In recent years, Kolkata has witnessed a surge in modern residential architecture, reflecting the city's evolving lifestyle and urban dynamics. Architects and builders are now integrating sustainable practices and innovative designs to cater to the needs of contemporary homeowners.
Modern residential buildings often emphasize functionality and space optimization. Features like open floor plans, eco-friendly materials, and energy-efficient systems are becoming increasingly popular. Notably, vertical gardens and green roofs are emerging trends, allowing residents to reconnect with nature amidst the urban landscape.
Conclusion
Kolkata's residential architecture is a testament to its rich history and cultural heritage. From colonial bungalows to traditional Bangals and contemporary designs, the city's architectural landscape is diverse and dynamic. As the city continues to evolve, it remains essential to appreciate and preserve the unique characteristics that define its residential architecture.

PVC Weather Screens: The Ultimate Protection for Your Outdoor Spaces
PVC weather screens are an excellent solution for protecting outdoor spaces from the elements while maintaining a clear view of your surroundings. Whether you want to shield your patio, balcony, or veranda from wind, rain, or harsh sunlight, PVC weather screens provide a durable, versatile, and cost-effective option. In this blog post, we'll explore the benefits of PVC weather screens and how they can enhance your outdoor living experience.
Tumblr media
Benefits of PVC Weather Screens
1. Superior Weather Protection: PVC weather screens are designed to offer superior protection against various weather conditions. In regions like Melbourne, where the weather can be unpredictable, these screens provide a reliable barrier against wind, rain, and even UV rays. By installing PVC weather screens, you can enjoy your outdoor spaces year-round without worrying about sudden changes in the weather. The screens can block strong winds, keep out rain, and filter harmful UV rays, allowing you to create a comfortable and protected environment.
2. Clear Visibility: One of the standout features of PVC weather screens is their transparency. Unlike solid barriers, PVC screens offer protection without obstructing your view. This clear visibility allows you to enjoy the beauty of your garden, pool, or surrounding landscape while staying shielded from the elements. The transparency of PVC screens also helps to maintain the aesthetic appeal of your outdoor space, blending seamlessly with your existing decor and architecture.
3. Durability and Longevity: PVC is known for its durability and long-lasting performance. Weather screens made from PVC are resistant to moisture, mold, and mildew, ensuring they remain in good condition even in harsh outdoor environments. Unlike fabric or wooden screens, which can degrade over time, PVC weather screens are designed to withstand the test of time. They are also resistant to fading and cracking, making them a low-maintenance solution for outdoor protection.
Applications of PVC Weather Screens
1. Patio and Veranda Enclosures: PVC weather screens are ideal for enclosing patios and verandas. By installing these screens, you can create an outdoor room that can be used in any weather. Whether you're hosting a summer BBQ or enjoying a quiet evening outdoors, PVC screens provide the flexibility to open or close the space as needed. The screens can be easily rolled up or down, allowing you to adapt to changing weather conditions.
2. Poolside Protection: If you have a pool, PVC weather screens can be used to protect the area from wind and debris. This not only keeps the pool area cleaner but also creates a more comfortable environment for swimming and lounging. Additionally, the screens can provide some privacy without completely blocking the view, making them a practical choice for poolside enclosures.
3. Outdoor Dining Areas: Outdoor dining is one of the joys of warm weather, but it can be disrupted by sudden rain or gusty winds. PVC weather screens allow you to enjoy alfresco dining without the inconvenience of weather interruptions. By enclosing your dining area with PVC screens, you can create a sheltered space that remains usable regardless of the weather.
Conclusion
PVC weather screens offer a practical and stylish solution for protecting your outdoor spaces from the elements. With their durability, clear visibility, and versatile applications, these screens can enhance your outdoor living experience while maintaining the beauty of your surroundings. Whether you're looking to enclose a patio, protect a poolside area, or create a weather-resistant dining space, PVC weather screens provide the ultimate protection and convenience. Invest in PVC weather screens to enjoy your outdoor spaces in comfort, no matter what the weather brings.

Elevate Your Outdoor Living: Exploring Decking and Verandas
In the realm of outdoor design, creating a space that blends functionality with aesthetic appeal is essential for maximizing enjoyment and utility. Decking and verandas are two popular choices for homeowners looking to enhance their outdoor living areas. Each offers distinct benefits and can significantly transform how we use and perceive our exterior spaces.
Understanding Decking and Verandas
Decking refers to a flat, raised platform typically constructed from wood or composite materials. Decks are often built adjacent to a home, providing an elevated outdoor area for various activities such as dining, lounging, or entertaining. They are versatile and can be customized in terms of shape, size, and material to fit a range of design preferences and practical needs.
Verandas, on the other hand, are covered outdoor spaces that extend from the main structure of a home. They usually feature a roof and are supported by columns or posts. Verandas can be open or enclosed and are designed to provide shelter from the elements while allowing homeowners to enjoy the outdoors. They are often situated at the front or back of a house and serve as a transitional space between the indoor and outdoor environments.
Benefits of Decking
1. Expanded Living Space
Decking creates an additional area for living and entertaining, extending your home's usable space outdoors. This is particularly advantageous for hosting gatherings, enjoying meals al fresco, or simply relaxing in the open air.
2. Customizable Design
Decks offer a high degree of customization in terms of design, materials, and finishes. Whether you prefer the classic appeal of hardwood, the durability of composite decking, or the modern look of aluminum, there are numerous options to suit your style and budget. Decks can also be designed to accommodate built-in features such as seating, planters, and lighting.
3. Enhanced Property Value
A well-designed deck can increase the value of your property. Potential buyers often view outdoor living spaces as a desirable feature, and a professionally constructed deck can enhance your home's appeal and marketability.
Benefits of Verandas
1. Weather Protection
One of the primary advantages of a veranda is its ability to provide shelter from various weather conditions. With a roof overhead, you can enjoy outdoor activities even in light rain or intense sun, making the space more versatile and usable throughout the year.
2. Outdoor Comfort
Verandas create a comfortable outdoor retreat where you can enjoy the beauty of your surroundings while being protected from the elements. This makes them ideal for relaxing with a book, dining with family, or simply unwinding after a long day.
3. Architectural Appeal
Verandas can enhance the architectural character of your home. They add a classic touch and can be designed to complement the style of your house, whether it's traditional, contemporary, or somewhere in between. The addition of a veranda can create a welcoming entrance or a charming extension of your living space.
Design Considerations
1. Purpose and Functionality
When planning your decking or veranda, consider how you intend to use the space. For decking, think about whether you want a dining area, a lounge space, or both. For verandas, consider the level of enclosure you desire and how it will integrate with your home's architecture.
2. Materials and Maintenance
Choose materials that align with your lifestyle and maintenance preferences. Decking materials range from natural wood to composite and vinyl, each with its own maintenance requirements. Verandas can be built with various materials, including wood, metal, and glass, so select options that suit your climate and aesthetic.
3. Budget and Installation
Both decking and verandas can vary widely in cost depending on materials, size, and complexity. It's important to set a budget and consult with professionals to ensure that your project meets your expectations and is completed to a high standard.
Conclusion
Decking and verandas are powerful tools in enhancing outdoor living spaces, each offering unique benefits that cater to different needs and preferences. Decking provides an open, versatile area for various activities, while verandas offer a sheltered retreat with added architectural charm. By carefully considering your design goals, material choices, and budget, you can create an outdoor space that perfectly complements your lifestyle and elevates your home's appeal.

Chateau Novella
The name speaks volumes not really. And it does if you say it in English it's like a book and it is a novel thing this is a very big house and they see weird things about the size like it's 7000 square feet which is not true it's more like 14 or 15,000 square feet it's pretty large and it's hefty and it has a lot of features in it that I like it looks like they have the back end as the front but I talked to some people and they said that you would have a rear entry for day to day use that you don't drive around in front of your house. I thought that was strange and it's weird that we didn't know that. Can see it in movies they're always kind of approaching through the shrubbery and stuff. And walking up the back way I mean it looks a little dumpy and it looks broken up here not dumpy but you can see that it's very classy and you've got some decks and things with ornate Railings in a carport with a balcony above so you can wave to someone LOL and yeah he'd be yelling at me or me and him did you get this at the store and check the list yes I said how can you remember it I said I got it and so on. Everybody laughs but they all go through it. So he just wanted to make sure and OK. It's important stuff I say. Look here and you can see the fountain feature, And there's garages and there's a patio it's really a courtyard they don't have anything in it but we put stuff there I guess and this little roadway. They really show almost one garage only but it might be a double wide and probably different and would have to have another building and he says you could put another one and you might wanna put a walkway above.  Enclosed. That's kind of cool because he thinks the kitchens on the second floor and it is. Those things are nice and we would get that kind of stuff together there's a few more things these this house that ceilings look like there about 12 foot which is not quite big enough and so we would have to think about that we have to think about 12 foot and yeah that's true too 10 foot's kind of huge it's very big and I should be limiting to probably what they said was 9 foot maximum so work but the doors need to be bigger that's interesting. So we have to talk about the period but here we go she's singing I'm gonna build castles and she seems to be very energized and the other girls too working with her and were wondering when and where this is and what they're talking about and we think it's coming up and it's probably after the cities are kind of destroyed'cause we're talking about the rubble of their love and areas of theirs that are crap and he says you can reconstitute a lot of things and even though they're rundown and ruined buildings they would be part of the new ones. He's kind of smiling a little and says that's how you do it and you make a brick walkway or two or wall up by the patio or Veranda and she likes that too so we're gonna get to this and we are going to use our smarts and these buildings in the video are not the ones from Pink Floyd the wall LOL and they turn into stupid people that is gross and they shouldn't do it but they're trying to attract max and really I don't know what kind of Mac that would attract they have a formula yours is not gonna be better but then again he says if it's close they might try and go there and see how he got it and that might be the angle but really he gets really beat up after that. And we are talking about this occasionally and this is the House and they're saying that it's Mar a lago in that case has been postponed and it's kind of getting pushed out constantly and now everybody sees why and why there's a kinks those people were aware of what the problem was but now it is going to change and if they don't adapt it will be the end of it. Some areas are requesting these already they're hiring builders and building places but we're gonna start building huge housing areas massive ones and we're going to incorporate houses and these would be part of the housing and these would be part of the housing complexes and they're not tracked homes but there would be a series of mansions. We would like ours to be a little more white than gray off white maybe not even off white gray. This is the style of Castle it was built in Germany and they're saying it's more like a townhouse with castle features and it does look like that and it probably is what it is and I said it is and David lived in the castle at some point so I'm sure they'll probably be up to that and someone said New York and that was my husband and they said that probably would be the case. So we're going to build these things and we're going to have to probably be forced into it but by everybody and ourselves because we need to live somewhere so I'm kind of looking forward to it and we have to get prepared and start to work towards it. They're not really hired that much to do stuff anymore and they're not doing things themselves and they own the company and it's kind of not doing anything right now but it sounds like she gets up and does it this is I think from the future and people might know better than us.
Hera
we do understand when this video was made. It's kind of like the Hawthorne Mall everyone thought it's in the future and you go there and you can see some of the graffiti. Not really but they did a special on it and showed that the graffiti was there. Go there you can find signs you have to look real close. So screwing around with that and really they get messed up by it didn't know what the mall meant I mean they're horrible. So there's that and also they were after the Queen's job. And it didn't work and then they're really not into building stuff they're a disaster right now the other girls are doing a little better there's some BJA and they want to build things. some of them are builders and they know it they were building stuff for quite awhile lily is a builder and she says I can build that without a problem and he says want to go through a testing phase with the mastic. It doesn't really have to fuse but it certainly has to hold together and not cope out with water so she wants to test the block and see what is made out of and people are going to try and find out what it is. We're going ahead now and we're going to release this for contract no but we are going ahead and building housing complexes and if you will ask for these we can build them quite easily and we know how to build the block walls and we will help get the right materials for others when they come time to do theirs. We are in the mood to help build we have big construction companies some people know who we don't really say but we're doing it and we're getting ready to purchase a couple more. And these companies are huge and they're gonna work. This is actually coming up a lot quicker than people think it might even be as soon as September. So let's get rolling everybody we gotta get ready for all sorts of things
Thor Freya
We have to be ready to wear our dress clothing and be there and look sharp and everything so I get that it's gonna be gayla events celebrations all sorts of things time the lawn mowing timed. The whole thing.. You did hear it. I'm gonna go ahead and get ready for the next few phases right now we're entering into the Revolutionary War reenactment headlong and the Civil War reenactment back to back. And And we do see that she is dismayed she's got a lot of support and a lot of people are wishful about it and our son and daughter say if it doesn't work for the reasons we think it won't which is going to be pressure can can handle the pressure it's like humanity his deaf and blind but he's your friend and she says I know that they're gonna work together and he's got stuff for you to do and my husband will help make that happen if there's an issue she thanks him and says good but first we have to get through Tommy F possibly she figures it out that what I'm saying it might happen so I'm gonna show why. And that was Hera the last two sentences. There's some real good reasons mostly there are a group of small and they're going to get the tarnation beat out of them. we're moving on to those phases but we have a lot of destruction coming and the radiation plumes might be here as early as late Wednesday afternoon which is tomorrow so everybody be prepared because those winds very fast and we noted that they're warmer and they stay way up there and they go way up there and they settle when they hit the cool and warmth difference of the peninsula it's warm in the peninsula it's cool in the ocean and it's flying along and there's disturbing winds up there and it drops. And yeah the ship is gonna get irradiated and it's part of a solution it gets hit pretty good with it then it gets hit from the other side only hours apart we think and then it starts to lose certain types of parts and it will have to move to repair. And people are going to try and keep it out. This is coming up very soon
Nuada Arruanna
I know it actually breaks down and you have to land and I might have to do that but I might move the other ship in but yeah that's gonna weaken us and I do see what happens no but if I do that the Mac proper might move down and yeah this is not good.
timmy f
OK it's open ended and we're supposed to do something it says no you can't they can't either 'cause I supposed to control the weather so here comes that storm pay back as a **** and it really is
