Ok this happens when they’re sneaking through Casita to get materials for Bruno’s ritual before heading to Antonio’s room!
Was nobody gonna tell me they had a storyboard of Dolores reenacting the velociraptor kitchen scene with Bruno and Mirabel?!

I find it interesting how a lot of the time when people refer to the argument scene at the climax of the movie, they say “mirabel finally stands up for herself”. but it’s not actually the first time she does! it’s the most crucial time and the only one that isn’t interrupted by something else happening but mirabel does stand up for herself multiple times!
for example when luisa starts losing her gift alma immediatly asks mirabel “what did you do? what did you say to her?”, to which mirabel immediately retaliates nothing!” it’s short and brushed over but it happens!

then yet again after the disastrous dinner pepa asks “what did you do!?” and mirabel literally yells out “IM NOT DOING ANYTHING!” she isn’t timid about her response she’s blunt and she’s immediate. mirabel can and does stand up for herself in the movie it’s just overlooked!

not to mention the breakfast scene we see already she is quite defiant! but people always act like mirabel was just a timid doormat for the whole movie and never actually stands up for herself when she does!! everytime isa opened her mouth mirabel always had a retaliation! but mirabels defiant nature is a large part to why she is the one who brings about change to the family and the entire encanto!
#encanto#encanto disney#disneys encanto#mirabel madrigal#disney’s encanto#encanto analysis#yes the argument scene is hugely important but not because it’s the only time she stands up for herself#she stands up for everyone!#mirabel encanto#also the official merch does refer to her as rebellious#but yeah I always see comments saying she FINALLY stood up for herself#but ??? she always has#I’ve missed doing silly rambles like this on scenes lmao

Lu encanto AU, dinner scene
I’m so good at making AUs and then writing dinner scenes involving them shdfbdhdgsbd
I don’t think this one needs much explanation, it’s the dinner/proposal scene from Encanto. Dot is Four’s Zelda, Mariano in this case, and I had to slip Hyrule in as another cousin, but I think it’s fairly obvious who’s who besides that. Voila.

————————————————————
He should have listened to the warnings.
Wind stared down at the image he’d finally pieced together, horror clutching around his heart like a vice as his own face looked blankly up at him.
He’d worked so hard to find his cousin Legend’s vision, gathered all of the pieces from his tower, hoping and praying they’d finally give him the answers he’d been so desperately seeking. And despite his family explaining in great detail why they didn’t talk about Legend, and how his visions were nothing but trouble, he’d ignored their words of caution and put the shattered vision back together again anyway.
And now he was faced with the image of himself, standing in front of Casita with cracks spreading out around him.
Wind couldn’t look away from the terrible sight, heart in his throat. He’d wanted to fix things, figure out what was wrong with the magic, save the miracle, but this...
Is this all my fault? he thought with a thick swallow. Are the cracks because of me? Is the magic dying because of me?!
A knock at his door startled him, and Wind jumped as he heard his father call his name.
“Hey Wind, got your party pants on?” Time teased as he opened the door, and Wind hurriedly tried to hide the damning image on the dresser behind him, casita quickly bouncing the furniture behind him, Wind trying to act casual as he blocked it with his arms.
The faint amethyst glow was impossible to miss though, and Time’s eye quickly zeroed in on it, a rapid mix of emotions flickering across his face before finally freezing into shock.
Wind watched him, nearly shaking with nerves, and Time slowly walked over, gaze fixed on the vision. The seconds stretched on, and finally Wind couldn’t take the silence anymore.
“I broke into Legend’s tower,” he blurted out, and as his father looked at him, the rest of it all came spilling out. “I know I’m not supposed to but I needed answers and I found his last vision, the family’s in trouble, the magic is dying, Twilight’s gift is fading, and I think it’s all because of... me?”
Time didn’t react, apart from moving a little closer to the vision so he could properly see the terrible image in it.
“...Pá?” Wind asked in a small voice, and Time’s gaze flicked outside the room when the clear sound of the doorbell rang out.
Then he snapped into action, and quickly began snatching up the pieces of the vision.
“We say nothing,” he stressed, plucking up each piece and tucking them securely into the pockets of his pants. “Abuela wants tonight to be perfect. Until the Gustafsons leave, you did not break into Legend’s tower, the magic is not dying, the house is not breaking, and Twilight’s gift is not fading.”
He finished tucking the vision securely away, and took Wind’s shoulders in his hands, meeting his eyes.
“We can figure this all out afterwards,” he reassured, giving Wind’s shoulders a squeeze and lowering his voice to a whisper. “No one will know. We’ll just act normal. No one has to know.”
Wind started to nod, but then the door beside them creaked. He and Time slowly turned to look outside, and saw Four, frozen on the balcony on the other side of the second floor and obviously listening in.
“I know,” Four whispered, eyes huge.
Then he let out a small squeak before hurrying away.
Wind and Time watched him rush off, frozen, and Wind’s stomach turned itself inside out.
“He’s gonna tell everybody,” Wind gulped, and saw his father press a hand to his brow as Abuela called that it was time to eat.
“Miercoles,” Time muttered.
(...)
Somehow, Four didn’t tell anyone before they were all seated at the table together, and Wind sat across from him, refusing to take his eyes off his cousin for even a second. Four looked extremely nervous, and Wind stared at him, almost daring him to say something.
You know just as well as I do that we can’t mess up this dinner, Four!
They had to make a good impression on the Gustafsons, and Abuela would kill them if they ruined that by yelling about gifts fading and magic dying.
But that didn’t mean Four wouldn’t try and tell people sneakily. Wind didn’t trust him a single bit.
At the head of the table, Hylia was entertaining Mr. Gustafson with a cheery demeanor, seemingly unaware of the tension at the other side of the table. Or maybe she was just ignoring it. It was hard to tell.
“The Gustafsons and the Madrigals together will be so good for the Encanto,” Hylia said brightly, and Mr. Gustafson smiled back at her.
“Indeed. Let’s hope tonight isn’t a horrible disaster then, eh?” he said jovially, and laughed along with the rest of them. Wind felt a little like throwing up.
“To a perfect night,” Hylia said with a smile, raising her glass, and the others did the same. “Salud!”
“Salud!” the table echoed.
Wind kept staring at Four, not taking his eyes off of him to raise his cup or even put food on his plate. His cousin nervously held the edge of the table, and it was like Wind could see the secret on his lips, ready to be spilled. He wouldn’t take his gaze off of him for a second.
“Avocado?” Dot suddenly asked Wind, passing the bowl in front of his face. Wind startled, then scrambled to take it, but he was too late.
Four was already whispering rapidly into his brother’s ear, Wild’s eyes growing wider with every word. As Four finished, Wild’s face went wonky, features flickering rapidly between different ones as he coughed. His face finally went back to his normal one, but his eyes and mouth were shaped strangely.
Señor Gustafson and the rest of the family stared, and Hylia cleared her throat, quickly pouring him some wine.
“Wild, fix your face,” his father whispered beside him, and Wild hurriedly shook himself back to normal, looking at Wind in dismay.
Wind looked back at him in horror, but before he could try and stop him from spreading the news, Warriors passed Wind a pitcher of water, blocking his view of Wild.
Wind hurriedly took it, but Wild was already whispering quickly into his father’s ear. Sky spat out his drink in shock at the secret, Dot startling as a few drops hit her sleeve, but Sky hurriedly cleared his throat and wiped up what he could when Hylia gave him a pointed look.
Wind looked around the table in dismay, feeling like things were rapidly spiraling out of control. Nearly half the table was giving him alarmed looks they tried to hide, and the other half appeared rather confused.
“Wind?” Hylia said suddenly, and Wind froze, heart shooting into his throat. “The cream, please?”
“Oh! Uh, sí, Abuela,” Wind replied with a nervous laugh, and looked over at his father. “Papá? The cream?”
Time, who had been stone-faced the entire time, nodded, and silently grabbed the cream from beside him. Wind only looked over at him for a moment to take the dish and pass it, but it was long enough for Sky to hurriedly whisper into Sun’s ear. Her eyes went huge, and she stared at Wind in disbelief as a large cloud formed above her head the more Sky whispered.
“Sun, dear, the cloud?” Hylia said pointedly at the raincloud now covering the entire table, and Sun gulped, running her hands through her hair and whispering as she did her best to calm down.
Wind looked up as thunder rumbled, then back down in time to see Sun rapidly whispering into Hyrule’s ear about the vision. His cousin sucked in a gasp and choked on a bite of food in the process, and roughly hacked into his hand. Sun pounded him on the back, and the piece of food shot out of his mouth, hitting Señor Gustafson’s cup and cracking the side of the wineglass.
He startled, making a dismayed noise as a small stream of wine began to spurt out of the cup, but Hylia quickly replaced it with another, pouring what was left into the new glass.
All while Hyrule stared at Wind with an unreadable look on his face, one that was honestly kinda scary.
Wind bit back a frantic whimper, and Aryll squinted at him from her spot, briefly catching his attention. She looked like she wanted to say something, but then Wind saw Hyrule whispering into Malon’s ear about the vision. His mother looked at him, her expression somehow both worried and alarmed, and Wind swallowed, his stomach feeling like the shards of Legend’s vision were scraping around inside of it.
They’re going to think you’re even more of a failure—
Wind quickly drank from his cup so he didn’t have to see the disappointment that was surely on his mother’s face, then looked at his feet to further avoid her eyes. Then he startled, one of the cracks he’d seen the night of Aryll’s ceremony appearing right between his legs on the floor.
Oh no, not more!
Wind looked closer just to be sure, then straightened, accidentally banging his head on the table. He yelped as he sat up, rubbing his head, and Warriors gave him a look that warned him to knock it off.
“Wind? Are you okay?” Dot asked from a few seats over as he kept rubbing his head, and Wind quickly nodded, plastering a smile on his face.
“Great! Fine!” he squeaked unconvincingly.
“Everything is fine,” Time added, though he was still stone-faced, like he was afraid if he showed any emotion the secret would also be shown. “He’s merely excited.”
“...For Warriors to propose!” Wind quickly finished, grinning a little extra wide at his brother. “Which you should totally do! Right now!”
Warriors looked at him sharply, and opened his mouth to protest.
“I was going to—”
“You were going to! Great!” Wind said cheerily, and jumped up from his seat and turned Dot’s chair so it was facing Warriors’, her red hair nearly brushing the food it swept past.
“Well, eh,” Mr. Gustafson said, looking a bit confused, before patting Dot on the arm, “I suppose that works. Before we begin, since everyone here has a talent, my lovely Zelda wondered if perhaps she could sing before the proposal. Twilight my boy, would you get the piano?”
Wind looked at Twilight, who hadn’t said a word the entire dinner. He’d merely stared at his food, of which Wind noticed he’d barely touched, and only looked up from his plate at the sound of his name. His face looked like he was about two seconds away from bursting into tears.
“...Okay,” Twilight finally said in a watery voice, then slowly got up and went into the other room to fetch the piano.
An awkward silence followed him.
“Erm... actually, it’s family tradition to sing afterwards,” Wind lied through his teeth, and quickly shoved Warriors’ chair over so he stumbled down to a knee in front of Dot. “So go ahead and do your thing there... bro.”
If everyone hadn’t been looking at them, Wind was sure Warriors would have shot him the worst death glare he could manage. He managed to suppress it though, and cleared his throat, turning to Dot.
“Zelda Dorothea,” Warriors began, that annoying cheesy smile plastered on his face. “Lovely flower of our township...”
Wind listened with a relieved smile as Warriors prattled on, glad that things seemed to be back on track. But then he noticed a crack splintering its way across the floor, right in view of the entire table.
He lunged for it, flopping sideways overtop the crack to block it, and everybody stared at him.
“Doing great!” Wind said with a thumbs up, and this time Warriors did manage a sharp look at him before smoothing his face again.
“...gem of the Encanto,” he continued, a light blush falling over Dot’s face as he went on. Wind spared a brief thought that Warriors was laying it on awfully thick, before he saw one of the coatis that Aryll was friends with tug a piece of the vision out of Time’s pocket, looking at it in interest.
Wind gasped, but before he could try and do anything, Twilight came back into the room, struggling to push the piano more than a few inches at a time. Wind looked at him, and Twilight suddenly stopped and pressed his face down against it with a tiny, frustrated sob.
Warriors and the rest of the table stared at him in confusion.
Wind bit his lip in dismay as he looked at Twilight, then looked back at the coati, who’d been joined by another and was happily piecing Legend’s vision together beneath the table. They squeaked in excitement, and Wind looked wildly around the room for a way out of this disaster.
Warriors valiantly kept on with his proposal despite the rising tension, obviously doing his best to pretend everything was fine if the extremely fake smile on his face was any measure.
“Will you marry—”
“No!” Wind cried as the coati slotted the last piece in, and he leapt under the table, trying to snatch the vision away.
Twilight fell to the ground with a wail as his powers completely failed him, and Señor Gustafson ducked as a toucan shrieked past his head, his face panicked.
“What’s going on?!” he gasped, Hylia looking just as alarmed as he was, and thunder rumbled menacing from the cloud that had reformed above the table. Four finally couldn’t take it anymore as birds screeched and Wind scrambled to grab the vision, and he stood up from his chair in a panic.
“It’s Wind! He found Legend’s vision and he’s in it, he’s gonna destroy the magic and we’re all doomed!” Four wailed.
Wind finally grabbed the vision from the coatis, but they grabbed it back, the tray it was sitting on landing on the table with a clatter. Wind snatched at it as the coatis scrambled around him, and he accidentally slid the vision across the table to stop right in front of Hylia.
Where she could clearly see the image of Wind, standing in front of Casita with cracks spreading out behind him.
Hyrule and Malon both went pale as they took it in, Señor Gustafson blanched, and Hylia had a look on her face so mixed that Wind couldn’t even identify it.
He shakily straightened from where he’d been leaning over at the foot of the table, and he looked around frantically as a rumbling that wasn’t thunder shook through the room.
Cracks spread their way out in the wall behind Wind, and Aryll gasped as more birds flew shrieking through the room, Wild’s features going entirely wonky as Sky looked at him in alarm. A mirror on the wall behind Hyrule cracked, lightning crashed near Sun, Four slammed his hands to his ears, and someone cried out in fear.
Wind looked around in horror, and saw Warriors, still on one knee with a ring in his hand, looking unusually panicked. A thorny vine abruptly sprang up from the ground in front of him, and whipped around, smacking Dot on the nose and slashing Warriors’ cheek as well.
They both cried out, and the door nearby swung open, revealing a crowd of townspeople all prepared to congratulate the new couple. They all shouted happily, but then the clouds above them burst, sending a downpour onto everyone’s heads and silencing the calls.
A heavy silence fell with the rain over the table.
Wind looked around, his entire family soaking wet, hurting and fearful, and Hylia did the same, her face pure disbelief.
All because of Wind and the vision.
All my fault.
(...)
The spell that the shock of the moment had left over them soon faded, and before Wind knew what was happening, suddenly people were getting up from the table left and right, Mr. Gustafson rushing his daughter up and away faster than anyone.
“Señor, por favor!” Hylia begged as she hurried after them, Mr. Gustafson ignoring her as Dot winced and held her hands over her nose.
Wind stood frozen by the doorway as everyone ran by him, not sure what to do. Twilight hurried past him next with a distraught expression, their father going after him as he tried to escape to his room. Aryll and Wild both scrambled away with frightened looks, Sky going after them, and Sun briefly paused to look at Wind in sharp confusion and fear.
“What did you do?” she asked with a rumble of thunder.
“I-I didn’t— I’m not doing anything! It’s Legend’s vision...” Wind trailed off weakly, and Sun hurried off as Sky called her name.
Warriors didn’t even say anything as he swept by, just glared at Wind past the cloth he’d pressed to his cheek. He stormed up to his room, scarf flaring behind him, and Wind heard Abuela speaking to the worried crowd that had gathered outside in a firm voice, insisting that everything was fine.
Then Wind heard a squeak.
He turned, and saw a rat peering at him from behind a corner, an amethyst piece of vision held in its mouth. Wind startled, then watched in surprise as the rat skittered off, followed by a few others. They all held pieces of the vision, and Wind hesitated.
Then he heard Abuela call his name, her voice nearly as thunderous as the storm brewing outside, and he turned and followed the rats.
He would fix this. Somehow... he would fix this.
But first he needed to know what a bunch of rats wanted with the pieces of Legend’s vision.

I’ve always thought Encanto would be interesting from Dolores and the Triplets POV.
Like, I would add scenes based on the fan songs: Quiet Down and Camilo’s Interlude; and Luisa wouldn’t be the only one whose powers are fading. It would just fill in the blanks that Mirabel’s POV leaves in the movie.
The existence of the book called A Tale of Three Sisters should imply the existence of another book called A Tale of Three Triplets and another one called A Tale of Three Siblings, both of them retelling the events of the movie from the POVs of the triplets and the POVs of the warm colors kids respectively, and THEN we could have the ultimate trilogy about Encanto that we all deserve.

10 Disney hot takes/unpopular opinions (Part 7)

I'm sure the title is self-explanatory. You know the drill! Check out part 6 here.

Phoebus is Disney's best main-supporting character--I know I stated this objectively, but obviously "best" is subjective. I always appreciated his kindness and strength, and while he doesn't really grow in viewpoint since he always has a strong moral compass, his allegiance changes, and we love to see it when a good guy stops working for the bad guy! Only wish he got to sing.

2. Aurora's dress is the best Disney princess gown--I think it's because of the uniqueness of it; the sharp elements instead of rounded aspects, as well as the pink color (which helps her stand out; blue pits her against Tiana, Jasmine, and Cinderella). Plus I love when merchandising gives her a blue AND pink dress.

3. Eric should've sang in the musical and he and Ariel should've gotten to talk after the battle--I'm glad other adaptations (the live-action remake, the Broadway adaptation, and the anniversary special) have fixed the singing part, but I do feel like it was a missed opportunity to not have Eric sing in the film. It's kind of disappointing actually that it's actually other characters who sing most of the songs rather than the main character (who only gets 1.5 songs) and her love interest. Plus I always wished we got a reconciliation scene between Ariel and Eric rather than a "back to square one" approach they did.

4. I think Disney could get away with more (censored) violence--Kind of an oxymoron, but what I mean is that "Pocahontas" and "Mulan" got away with violence in a way that was still digestible for a younger audience. Not saying that every Disney film needs a lot of violence, but when violence is warranted, they can do so by getting creative with how it's shown, rather than it being offscreen or skipped over.

5. Mirabel should be a Disney princess--I know some people see the DP line as kind of elitist and only admitting "a certain type" of heroine, but aside from adding diversity to the line by being the first Latin-American princess/first South American princess/first Disney princess with glasses, she's also a well-written character who's personality and heart makes her join the line without feeling like she's just there for the sake of optics.

6. "If I Never Knew You" is the greatest Disney love song--I've said it before, but not on a hot take post. It stands out as a song that isn't about the sweetest moments of love, but the darkest elements and consequences of love. Not saying I want the next Disney couple to have a sad ending like Pocahontas and John Smith, but a love song when all seems lost is really unique, and I kinda wonder if this song would've won an Oscar if it had been included in the final cut.

7. We need more complex stories with complex antagonists--I feel like Disney has started telling more complex storylines with "Frozen," "Zootopia," "Big Hero 6," "Encanto," and "Raya and the Last Dragon," and I want them to continue to. Obviously you want a story with a happy ending and something to please the kids who may want something uplifting, but that doesn't mean you can't have more grey-area movies with the protagonist having to change/grow their perspective, and the antagonist not necessarily being a villain.

8. "Tangled" is the wrong movie for Disney on Broadway to be working on--While I understand that it's a popular film, there are renaissance films that should've gotten that treatment before, as well as "Moana" and "Encanto" feeling like better ideas, especially in order to capitalize on their viral impact.
9. "Frozen 2" has the most (emotionally) impactful soundtrack of the Revival Era--I've thought a lot about this, but while Disney always has an emotional song or two in their musicals, "Frozen 2" is an emotional journey from start to end; even the fun songs like "Some Things Never Change," "Lost in the Woods," and "When I'm Older" have a profound meaning to them, a sense of change that Disney should've brought into the 2020s with them. While I found the film narratively clunky, all of the songs (even the ones I wasn't big on) still left me with a feeling of fufillment, like I had just went on an amazing journey of self-discovery. Mature movies like that usually aren't musicals, so I'm glad this was.

10. The Bronze Age is one of my least-favorite Disney Eras--If you know my channel, you know my opinion on animal-centric films; not a fan, with "Zootopia" being an exception because I loved the plot AND they were somewhat human in the world/setting. Almost all of Disney's films during this era were animal-centric, and none of them were good enough for me to be engaged. And while I find "The Black Cauldron" underrated, I do kinda wish Disney had made it a musical instead.

Hi! I read the recent chapter of Cowboy Like Me, and I enjoyed it so much! I also watched Beauty and the Beast recently, and I thought that Darry and Betty were somewhat similar to Beast and Belle.
What Disney princess/character do you think each character would like the most or embody the most?
Oh ur so right also i love this ask so:
Outsiders and Disney let’s go
Ponyboy: I feel like he loved Belle as a kid, he understood her with the whole quiet and liking books and that being considered “weird.” More modern Disney I think frozen but he won’t admit it, Elsa and Anna hit a bit close to home to him (he’s def cried watching it)
Soda: all credit goes to Miss @brunetteairhead because she came up with this and I loved it. Encanto. Bro sobs through the entire movie. Waiting on a miracle? Surface pressure? What else can I do? Bro is a puddle. It’s his favorite movie.
Steve: Princess and the Frog. If Ponyboy asks him why he says because Tiana is a baddie (she is) and because she’s the first black Disney princess. His real reason is Tiana reminds him of Evie and Naveen reminds him of Soda. Steviepop mentioned What who said that?! 😉
Dally: he claims he has never seen a Disney movie. He has. He’s just a liar. He def has shed a tear to circle of life at the opening of lion king. Shut up, don’t ask him
Johnny: I feel like he vibes with the jungle book, it’s a classic. Maybe it’s the first Disney movie he ever saw when he went to the Curtis’ as a kiddo. Bro also likes Lilo and stitch (he once made a joke dally is like stitch) Also ik it’s Pixar but he and Ponyboy have cried to Wall-E several times.
Darry: he likes some of the older Disney movies more I’m feeling like Lady and The Tramp and Aristocats. But his fav is def Hercules (wink wink) However of the newer Disney movies wreck him (looking at you encanto and frozen)
Betty: my queen was a Disney child, she has seen every movie my lord. She was a big fan of Meg in Hercules, also mulan and Pocahontas. She liked the badasses, as she should. But she also loves tangled, she cries watching the lantern scene and the “you were my new dream” (Darry also loves tangled because it makes him think of her)
I gave him the throne of honor to go last so our OG Disney lover
Two Bit: bro claims he’s a purist! He’s out here saying his fav Disney movie is fantasia and that all the new Disney movies suck. His real fav is Moana. His little sister made him watch it and he cried. He also sings you’re welcome all the time and annoys EVERYONE
Bonus thoughts
Good GOD keep the Curtis bros away from classic Disney films. Dumbo?! Bambi?! Like wayyy too many dead parents. They cannot watch those movies I fear.
Curtis bros and Brother bear. Do yall see my vision. (Betty turns it on, she starts crying the second great spirits starts lmfao)
Please add on to this it’s so good
#dallas winston#darry curtis#ponyboy curtis#sodapop curtis#the outsiders#johnny cade#steve randle#two bit mathews#the outsiders musical#hopefully this reaches its target audience idk#betty merrill#DO YALL SEE THE VISION

*sasukepose.jpg* I'm starting to realize that Trash!Tim is more like if OG!Cale regressed rather than Kim Rok Soo transmigrating, and rather than Trash!OGCale turning into a decent human, it's the other way around for Tim of turning from decent into trash and---
*lies on floor* I've been going about this all wrong!
Because in my mind, I was thinking Tim in the same way as Kim Rok Soo, because I hc Tim to have hyperthymesia and they both lost so many people but the only reason they're able to survive is because they learned to rely on other people!
And for regressed Tim to throw all that away in his new life, to make sure that the family he loves gets a happy life while he suffers? While he sees a family portrait with him missing from it? While he sits at the table and has Bruno from Encanto's levels of wanting to eat with his family but can only eat with them from afar? I just---
My heart is breaking. Unlike Kim Rok Soo who transmigrated and slowly built a family for himself, it's OG!Cale in the original timeline destroying his relationships with his family to keep them happy and safe. I am in tears.
I was thinking of Dick being Tim's Lee Soo Hyuk, telling Tim that living is best! I was thinking of Jason being his Choi Jung Soo, and Bruce being his Choi Han. Bruce who just lost his son having this sort of darkness in him, and Tim taking a page out of Jason's book and just feeding Bruce till he feels better rather than doing his whole Batman needs a Robin thing from the OG!timeline.
But now, NOW. THINGS ARE ANGSTIER. If in the OG!Timeline Jason and Damian were manipulated to get rid of Tim by Talia, Tim now goes on ahead and puts that target on his back himself. He's doing so well at being trash, he wonders if this is all he's good for in the long run of his life. How long can he keep this up, how long can he keep the gazes of disdain on himself by the people he loves? They don't even know him in this timeline, and that hurts even further.
My thoughts gets to a point where Tim got too deep in being trash that he ends up on a rooftop, looking at the sky and basking in the Gotham sunset. He's beside Jason's favorite gargoyle and he's just standing there.
Jason has plenty of reason to hate Tim, but Red Bat (stupid name, I know, but just to get to the scenario) has no reason to turn someone who may be a rich spoiled brat away.
So, he calls out to Tim. Asks him what's wrong.
Tim doesn't reply. But when he turns his head, Jason could only see how anguished this boy looks. How could a spoiled brat who knows nothing but being trash look so tortured and defeated when nothing even happened to him to look that way?
Or something is. Something might be happening behind the scenes.
That anguished look is instantly replaced with that cocky smirk, but his red eyes full of tears were still on display.
Tim says something, Jason doesn't listen.
It was probably to get a rise out of him, but so much is happening in Jason's head.
"Wanna get some chili dogs?" he asks on impulse.
It shuts Tim up, makes Tim have a complicated look on his face, before settling for what Jason could tell is forced disgust. Because the kids' eyes were widened, his shoulders relaxed. He's hopeful and excited.
Jason grabs Tim and jumps off the roof, grappling to his favorite chili dog stand. The kid didn't even force a scream or demands for a lawyer.
But he did hug Jason tight.
Huh.
Shizz... This kind of makes me want to actually write a bit of an angst fic about the Tim "Trash" AU. You are correct that the entire thing would be angsty, but I imagine Tim's narration of it would be full of jokes. He's be laughing, rolling his eyes, making slightly fucked up jokes about his situation, but he wouldn't go into it. Maybe he'd even convince himself that it's fun to pretend so much. He's a bit of a troll like that and makes internal debates with himself on how fast he can get someone to explode in rage.
But, yeah. I wrote a fic about Tim going back in time and purposefully cutting himself off from the family (and not rejoining them despite helping them). This, though? Him making himself into a public figure he knows his family would despise? Yikes.
It hurts but in a very delicious way.
How much time does he spend hesitating before doing an action that would lower the Waynes opinion of him? How often does he try to ignore his family so he can do what he must (being "trash")?
Hopefully, Tim isn't alone in that AU. I like to imagine he has another persona (maybe his vigilante one, maybe an online one) so that he has at least someone who doesn't hate him

Chapter 7

Coex Mall – Party Supplies Section
Min Ah wasn’t exactly in the mood for a group outing. She hadn’t been in the mood for much of anything lately. Not since Wednesday.
But when Dokyeom had popped into his newly created group chat, consisted only her, Eunji, Dahyun: TIGER PARTY PREP MISSION!! MEET AT COEX 1PM, NO EXCUSES And then followed it with, HOSHI DOESN’T KNOW. IF THIS GETS LEAKED, I’M TAKING YOU ALL DOWN WITH ME She figured it was exactly the kind of mindless chaos she needed.
So she said yes. Yes to the plan. Yes to the distraction. Yes to pretending things were totally fine.
It was easier than sitting at home waiting for a text that wouldn’t come.
Inside the party store, the air was too cold, and everything was too bright. Min Ah rubbed her arms through her light jacket as she trailed behind Dokyeom, who was moving with the kind of hyper focus that could only come from sugar, caffeine, or unchecked emotional investment in surprise parties.
Probably all three.
“Okay,” Dokyeom said, stopping in front of an aisle full of themed decorations. “Hoshi said his favorite animal is a tiger, right?”
“Yeah,” Dahyun said, already flipping through a rack of novelty candles. “He also said he’s descended from a long line of warriors and once claimed he could win Produce 101 if he trained for a week.”
Eunji snorted. “He cried during Encanto. He’s hamster-coded. He just doesn’t know it.”
“I stand by the tiger thing,” Dokyeom insisted. “The passion. The power. The stripes.”
“He has no stripes,” Eunji deadpanned. “Unless you count those weird socks he wore last week.”
“Okay. Rude,” Dokyeom muttered. “But. Listen. I have an idea.”
Min Ah blinked, catching up to the group just as Dokyeom darted around the corner — and came back triumphantly holding something up.
Tiger onesies.
Full-body, fuzzy orange onesies, complete with ears, a tail, and mittens for paws.
“I need this,” he said, reverently. “We all show up like this tonight, and when he walks in—BOOM. Tiger Nation. Best surprise party ever.”
“No,” Eunji said flatly. “I’d rather get fired,” Dahyun added. Min Ah tried not to giggle.
Dokyeom gasped. “Cowards. You have no vision. Hoshi would love this!”
“He’d cry. And not the good kind,” Eunji replied, already tossing a pack of striped candles into the shopping basket.
“We’ll do themed supplies,” Min Ah said gently, trying to mediate before he actually tried to buy the onesies. “Tigers without the fur suit.”
Dokyeom sighed dramatically. “Fine. No onesies. But we are getting the paper hats. And the napkins. And that piñata.”
“There’s a piñata?” Dahyun asked.
“Technically it’s a dinosaur. But if you squint—”
“No,” Eunji said again.
They spent the next hour bouncing between the party store and a few cute stationery shops. By the time their basket was full — tiger-striped candles, orange-and-black hats, “Happy Birthday” balloons, mini poppers, and a little cake topper that said “BORN TO ROAR” — Min Ah was almost having fun.
Almost.
There were still quiet moments.
Little pauses in the middle of a group laugh where her smile faltered. Tiny gaps between jokes where she caught herself glancing at her phone, like her brain had learned to check it on autopilot.
Still no new messages. No missed calls. Nothing since Tuesday night, except the memory of his hand on her cheek, his voice murmuring birthday wishes between kisses. And one word, stuck like a splinter in the back of her mind:
Disappeared.
On the ride back, they were crammed into Dokyeom’s car, Dahyun in the front, Eunji in the back with Min Ah and a mountain of party supplies.
Dokyeom drove like someone had given him three Red Bulls and a playlist labeled "PARTY ALL NIGHT".
“We need to hide all of this until ten,” he said. “Eunji, use your evil powers to distract Hoshi if he shows up early.”
“I’m not evil. I’m efficient,” Eunji replied. “And I’m not wasting my best distraction techniques on Hoshi. Get Dahyun to flirt with him.”
Dahyun didn’t even blink. “I’d rather fight him in a parking lot.”
Min Ah snorted, leaning her head against the cool window.
The city blurred by in streaks of color and light. She exhaled slowly.
“This is helping,” she thought. “I feel better.”
And then, without even realizing it, her fingers curled around her phone again. Still nothing.
She looked back out at the road, swallowing the ache she didn’t want to name.
It’s just Jun. People don’t owe you anything. Right? Saturday, June 14 – 9:30 PM
Min Ah stood in front of her closet longer than she meant to.
There were plenty of things she could wear — simple, casual dresses, a couple fun skirts, that black jumpsuit Eunji said made her look like a “badass art director in Milan.” But everything she pulled out just looked... too much. Or not enough.
Not that she was dressing for anyone. Of course not. This wasn’t about Jun.
It was Hoshi’s surprise party. Everyone would be there. She just didn’t want to look tired. Or like she’d spent the last three days checking her phone every half hour and then pretending she hadn’t.
She picked a soft red dress in the end — something easy, flowy, with a low back and a subtle shimmer under certain lighting. She added a thin eyeliner wing, touched up her gloss. Nothing crazy.
Just enough to feel like she was glowing again.
By the time she arrived at the club, it was buzzing. The music pulsed low and steady from inside the building, like a heartbeat waiting to speed up.
Outside, a small crowd was already gathering — friends of friends, coworkers from other departments, some familiar faces from Artois. Dahyun waved her over from the entrance, holding a tiger-striped party hat and a mini party popper like they were VIP passes.
“Dokyeom’s been pacing like a game show host on sugar,” she said as Min Ah slipped into the velvet-roped line. “Prepare yourself.”
“I’m not emotionally ready for that sentence,” Min Ah replied, laughing despite herself.
Inside, the table was impossible to miss.
Dokyeom had truly gone overboard.
The largest table near the stage was covered in bright orange decorations — tiger-print everything, glowing LED candles, fake mini vines, and even a few helium balloons with Hoshi’s face taped over tiger cartoon bodies. The table had a direct view of the entrance and enough space to see nearly the entire club, including both bars and the main dance floor.
Min Ah blinked. “We look like we’re about to summon him from the wild.”
“He is the wild,” Dokyeom said, grinning as he adjusted the tiny “Born To Roar” banner above the champagne bucket. “God, I’m so good at my job.”
“You work in finance,” Dahyun said flatly.
“Exactly.”
People started trickling in. Artois employees from other divisions joined — marketing, finance, even some folks from HR. It was louder, rowdier than the last time Min Ah was here. She spotted a few familiar faces from the karaoke night, all tipsy and laughing. The table filled with chatter, drinks were passed, party hats tilted at odd angles.
It should’ve been easy to blend in.
To laugh with Eunji and Dahyun, to join Dokyeom in testing which cocktail had the most dangerous sugar content, to forget.
She was trying.
She danced a little, sipped her drink, let the lights blur out the corners of her thoughts. She wasn’t here to look around, wasn’t here to wonder about anyone. Tonight, she was simply existing. Trying to enjoy the chaos, to let herself not care for once.
So when she saw Dahyun’s face shift — just slightly — and Eunji’s gaze flick toward the entrance, Min Ah didn’t want to look.
Her heart dropped before her eyes even caught up.
But curiosity betrayed her.
She turned.
And there he was.
Jun. In the flesh. In the same black shirt she remembered him wearing on that surprise birthday dinner at his apartment, sleeves rolled just enough to show the veins in his forearms. Walking in like nothing had happened. Like he hadn’t disappeared.
He was with the other Quantix guys — Mingyu leading the way, Joshua politely nodding at someone near the bar, Jeonghan looking like he might ghost the club the second no one was watching.
And Jun.
Looking completely, utterly fine.
Min Ah froze.
For a split second, their eyes met.
She didn’t even realize she was holding her breath until the moment snapped and she turned away — too fast, too sharp.
She looked back down at her drink, the condensation now slick against her palm.
“Don’t,” she told herself. “Just don’t.”
This wasn’t part of the plan. She had come to forget. To laugh. To breathe without that hollow sting under her ribs.
Not to see him again. Not like this.
Beside her, Eunji leaned in casually. “You okay?”
“Yep,” Min Ah replied too quickly. “Just the lighting’s giving me a headache.”
“Want to head to the bar?”
Min Ah shook her head. “I’m good here.”
Dokyeom was too busy giddily rearranging cupcakes into a number “15” to notice the tension.
Min Ah kept her eyes on the center of the table. On the cake. On the candle she would later pretend to light with steady hands.
This night was supposed to be hers. Not his.
But there he was.
And he’d seen her.
And now, no matter how many glittery party hats surrounded her — she couldn’t un-feel the twist in her chest.
Not now.
Not anymore.
—
11:55 PM, inside the club
Jun didn’t know what he was expecting when they pushed open the door to the club, but it sure as hell wasn’t this.
Tiger decorations. Literal tiger decorations.
From the ceiling to the glowing booth near the stage, the area looked like a jungle-themed birthday party hosted by someone with way too much creative energy and no self-restraint.
“Whoa,” Mingyu blinked. “Are we... in a kindergarten party?”
Jeonghan let out a laugh. “Honestly? Looks like it.”
Then Jun saw her.
Min Ah.
Not in the tiger hat, thankfully, but very much there—standing right near the massive cake table with the rest of the Artois crew, laughing hard at something Dokyeom just said. Her arms were folded loosely, her makeup soft but striking under the club lights. Her hair fell over her shoulders just like it had that night, and for a moment Jun forgot to breathe.
She didn’t see him.
Or maybe she did—and just didn’t show it.
A flash of orange bounced across the dance floor as Dokyeom ran by in a tiger-print sash, herding people like a stage manager with a vision. Dahyun was already passing out party poppers to a circle of unfamiliar faces. A bunch of them worked at Artois, Jun assumed. HR, Sales, Marketing. Too many names, too many people.
It was loud, hot, crowded.
But all Jun could hear was the sharp, unspoken silence still hanging between him and Min Ah.
Mingyu nudged him lightly. “She’s here.”
“I know.”
“You gonna talk to her?”
Jun hesitated. “Not yet.”
“Why not?”
Because I’ve been an idiot. Because I ghosted her after asking her to stay. Because I liked waking up next to her so much I panicked.
He just shrugged.
Wonwoo, standing nearby with a glass of something dark in his hand, didn’t say anything—but Jun caught the way he glanced at him, like he knew exactly what was going on without needing to hear a word.
Of course he did. Wonwoo always noticed everything.
Before the conversation could go deeper, Seungcheol stepped into the booth area, shaking rain off his shoulders and glancing around. “This the right table?”
“Hyung,” Joshua waved him over. “You missed the tiger parade.”
Seungcheol’s brows rose. “The what.”
“Exactly what it sounds like,” said Jeonghan, deadpan. “There were party hats involved. Maybe a live tiger. Still unclear.”
Seungcheol squinted toward the chaos. “Why does it look like a zoo exploded over there?”
Jun tried not to stare, but his eyes kept flicking back to the decorated corner. Min Ah was helping light sparklers on the cake now, her hands steady, her head tilted in concentration. She looked so at ease, surrounded by her team. So unfazed by his presence.
Or maybe just... done.
He didn’t know which one was worse.
Then the music dropped suddenly—cutting off the bass-heavy beat and switching to a slower instrumental track with a low, building rhythm. The lights dimmed, just a little. And Dokyeom, across the club, jumped onto a chair and waved his arms dramatically.
“SHOWTIME!!!” he announced.
The entire table ducked down behind the decorations.
Jun blinked. “Are they—hiding?”
Joshua laughed. “Oh god. It’s a surprise party.”
Sure enough, the front doors opened seconds later, and Hoshi walked in—confused, glancing around, clearly not expecting anything.
.... “SURPRISE!!”
Confetti. Sparkles. Poppers going off like fireworks.
Jun couldn’t hear his own thoughts over the chaos.
Someone yelled “Tiger King!!” and handed Hoshi a fuzzy hat with ears, which he immediately put on while pretending to cry. Laughter echoed through the room as a messy, off-key birthday song kicked in. People popped more confetti. Dokyeom looked like he was having a spiritual experience.
Jun stayed still.
It was like watching a life he wasn’t part of anymore.
Min Ah stepped forward to hand over the cake—tall, ridiculous, covered in orange frosting stripes and little plastic tiger faces. She was smiling.
Not just politely smiling—genuinely happy.
She said something that made Hoshi laugh and pull her into a sudden side hug. She yelped, pushed at him half-heartedly, and he just beamed harder, like he hadn’t noticed or didn’t care that frosting was now in her hair.
Jun’s hands clenched into fists in his jacket pockets.
“You okay?” Wonwoo asked quietly beside him.
Jun didn’t answer. Just kept staring.
She looked so comfortable here. So cared for. She’d found people—people who threw her into hugs and gave her tiger candles and made her laugh until her shoulders shook.
People who hadn’t kissed her like she meant everything and then vanished.
Jun looked down.
He hadn’t meant to disappear. He really hadn’t.
But something about the way she’d held his face that morning, the way she’d kissed him goodbye like she trusted him—like he could be someone worth staying for—it rattled something in him. Shook loose the quiet panic that lived under his skin, the voice that said: you don’t get things like this. People leave. They always do.
So he left first.
Now, watching her across the room, Jun didn’t feel protected.
He felt like a coward.
And worse—he wasn’t sure she’d let him explain anymore.
—
Just past midnight, in a quiet corner near the edge of the club
The club was still beating with bass, but Min Ah had drifted away from the center of it all.
Not to the smoking area. Not outside. Just somewhere dimmer—off to the side, past a small curtain near the coat check where the music muffled and the air thinned.
It wasn’t an escape.
She just needed a second.
One beat. One inhale that didn’t taste like cheap tequila and perfume and confetti dust.
She leaned against the wall, feeling the cool surface through the fabric of her blouse. Her phone buzzed lightly in her hand—just the team’s group chat. Dokyeom had sent a picture of Hoshi in the tiger hat, three emojis deep.
She smiled. A small one.
Then she sighed and locked the screen.
That’s when she felt it—the shift. That invisible tension in the air, the sudden weight of someone watching. Turning, slow and cautious, she already knew who it was before she saw him.
Standing not three feet away. One hand in his pocket. The other holding a glass he hadn’t touched.
She stared.
He stared back.
“You’re hard to find,” he said finally.
“I wasn’t hiding,” she replied, a little sharper than she meant to. But her chest was tightening and her throat felt tight and her heart—damn her heart—was beating in that stupid, hopeful way.
He walked closer, a step at a time, like she might disappear if he moved too fast.
“You ignored me tonight,” he said.
She let out a dry laugh. “Are you serious?”
Jun flinched at her tone.
“You ignored me all week, Jun,” she snapped, arms crossing. “And now I’m supposed to what—just forget that because you decided to talk to me again?”
He said nothing.
Her voice dropped lower, firmer. “Do you even know how much that sucked?”
Jun looked down. “I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“Yeah?” She tilted her head. “Then what did you mean to do?”
He opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
Silence stretched long between them.
She hated how beautiful he looked even now—tired eyes, mussed hair, mouth parted like he was trying to figure out how to not make things worse. She hated the way he looked at her like he was sorry and scared and relieved all at once.
“I didn’t know what to say,” he finally said.
“You didn’t even try,” she whispered.
Jun’s jaw clenched. “I didn’t think I deserved to.”
Min Ah blinked.
That… hurt.
Because it wasn’t a brush-off. It wasn’t cruelty. It was that sad honesty again. The kind that made her wonder just how deeply this man was hurting—and why he thought disappearing was the only option.
“That’s not fair,” she said. “You don’t get to pull me in, make me think—feel—whatever that weekend was, and then vanish. If you didn’t want me, you should’ve just said so.”
“I did want you,” Jun said quickly. Too quickly.
Her breath caught.
“I do,” he added, quieter this time. “That’s the problem.”
He stepped closer, slow and unsure. Close enough now for her to smell his cologne—fresh and clean, like linen and something sharper underneath.
“I told myself I’d keep my distance,” he murmured. “I thought maybe it was just that weekend, just something that would pass, but then I saw you tonight and—” He stopped himself. Swallowed hard. “And I couldn’t stay away.”
Min Ah’s heart thumped hard against her ribs.
She wanted to stay mad. She wanted to keep that wall up, even if it was barely standing.
But the way he said it… it didn’t sound like a pickup line. It didn’t sound like some pathetic excuse.
It sounded like the truth, broken and messy and scared.
Min Ah looked up at him, quiet now.
“So what do you want from me?”
Jun looked like he’d been bracing for that question. His voice was hoarse.
“I want to start over,” he said. “I want you to look at me like you did that morning—before I messed it up.”
She hesitated.
Her hand loosened at her side. Her shoulders dropped a little.
It wasn’t forgiveness. Not yet.
But it was something.
Jun’s eyes flicked to her lips. Then her eyes. Then back again.
He leaned in, hesitated for half a second—until she didn’t pull away.
And then he kissed her.
It was nothing like the kiss in his apartment.
When they broke apart, their breaths were shallow. Their foreheads stayed close.
Jun whispered, almost nervously, “Come with me.”
Her brows pulled together, unsure.
He paused. Then corrected, voice gentler, rawer:
“I just… I don’t want this night to end like the others. I want to be near you. Even if it’s just for a little while.”
Min Ah stared at him for a long second.
Then, slowly, she reached for his hand.
She didn’t say anything.
But she didn’t let go either.
—
Hoshi wasn’t sure when the party started feeling too loud.
It was probably around the third toast Dokyeom made in his name—standing on the couch like it was a stage, one arm around Manager Kim, the other holding a mic he absolutely wasn’t supposed to have.
Or maybe it was when someone shoved a second slice of cake into his mouth mid-laugh, and the frosting nearly shot up his nose. Everyone was so loud. Everyone was so happy. And he was too—he really was.
At first.
Because it wasn’t every day people threw you a surprise birthday party with tiger hats and candles shaped like paws, in your favorite club, surrounded by people who loved you and knew you well enough to make everything feel personal. Thoughtful. Right.
But then it all started spinning.
The tiger cake was half-eaten. The music louder. The Artois team had dissolved into smaller chaos-clusters — Dahyun and Manager Kim trying to flirt-fight over the last bottle of grape soju, Eunji arguing with someone from HR over astrology signs, Dokyeom still standing somewhere shouting “Tiger era!” like it was a political campaign.
And Hoshi… was just standing there.
Smiling. Nodding. Laughing when he needed to.
He wasn't drunk. Not like last time. No more being carried out while slurring lyrics and clinging to Eunji's sleeve.
He’d told himself tonight would be clean. Classy, even.
But now the edges of the room were blurring. Not from alcohol — but from something else. Something twisting in his chest, tightening without a name.
He slipped out quietly. No one noticed.
Past the coat check, down the hallway where the music pulsed like a heartbeat but softened, blurred behind layers of velvet curtains and concrete walls.
The air was cooler here. Not quite fresh, but still. It helped.
He leaned back against the wall, let his shoulders drop.
Let the moment breathe.
His phone buzzed — group chat with the Artois dev team. Someone had just sent a photo of him with the cake, frosting on his nose. He chuckled, shook his head.
Then froze.
Voices.
Low. Tense.
Around the corner. Not yelling, but tight.
He almost didn’t check.
He almost turned around.
But something made him pause. Made him take one step—then another—until he could just barely see past the divider wall.
And there they were.
Min Ah.
And… Jun? That Quantix guy?
His stomach dropped, just a little.
Jun looked… tired. Not in the way people look after work, but in the way someone looks after regret.
Min Ah stood in front of him, arms crossed, shoulders rigid.
The air between them wasn’t casual. It crackled.
Jun said something—low, something soft. Hoshi couldn’t make out the words.
Min Ah’s mouth tightened. She answered. Firm. Tense. Not kind.
Hoshi knew that voice. He’d heard it in meetings, in late-night talks at the office when she was tired but still trying to be polite. It meant: I’m hurt, but I’m not giving you more than you gave me.
She looked away.
Jun stepped forward.
His hand reached out — barely brushed her elbow.
Hoshi’s breath caught.
No.
No, this wasn’t—
She didn’t move back.
She didn’t flinch.
Instead, her hand met his — hesitant at first, like she hated herself for it — but she held on.
Jun leaned in.
And kissed her.
Slow. Like gravity pulled him there.
Like he couldn’t help it.
Like they both forgot where they were.
It wasn’t lusty or messy.
It was… intimate.
Familiar.
Like it wasn’t their first kiss.
Like it wasn’t their last.
Hoshi didn’t realize his nails had dug into his palm.
He turned around quietly.
Didn’t say a word.
Didn’t let his footsteps echo.
Just walked away.
Because what else could he do?
He wasn’t owed anything.
They were adults. This wasn’t a high school drama. There was no reason to feel anything about two people kissing in a hallway.
Except…
He had hoped.
Just a little.
He’d hoped that maybe the thing he thought he felt wasn’t one-sided. That maybe she smiled a little softer when it was him talking. That maybe she laughed a little more freely around him.
And maybe he should’ve said something earlier.
But now?
Now it was just too late.
Back at the table, someone had put a party hat on Dahyun, who was very clearly trying to remove it while Dokyeom shouted “GROUP PHOTO!”
Hoshi slipped into the frame with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Eunji narrowed her eyes at him. “You good?”
“Great,” he said, too quickly. “Best birthday ever.”
Dahyun shoved the tiger ears headband back onto his head. “You look like you’re about to cry.”
“I always cry on my birthday,” he joked.
It was half-true.
And no one noticed the crack.
Except maybe Eunji.
But even she didn’t say anything.

Miguel Rivera has known all his life that his no-good great-great grandfather abandoned his family, only for his Mama Coco's godfather, the now world-famous musician Ernesto de la Cruz to step up and make sure that the man's family were taken care of. He intends to be just like the man who, even after death made sure that Imelda's family lacked for nothing.
This belief is challenged and upended one fateful dia de los muertos.
(Or, Ernesto felt so much guilt over what happened to Hector that he did everything short of confessing to the murder to make sure that the wife and child Hector loved so much were taken care of.)
Moon Knight (TV 2022)
Ideas cooking. Will post a summary for any fanfics I decide to go through with :)
Percy Jackson & Harry Potter Crossovers:
The Sea Witch Chronicles (possible series)
Summary:
The tale of Morgana Jackson (fem Percy), the monstrous daughter of Poseidon and Sally Jackson, starts with a girl named Ursa Black, daughter of Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Black. A girl who was presumed dead until Sirius finds her name on the tapestry, alive and with no death date, with the names of two young girls just under hers.
Twice Born: The River Maiden
Summary:
Poseidon never meant to break his oath on the Styx, not after seeing what became of Zeus's daughter. But when the woman carrying his newest child died two months after their encounter, he was driven to save the unborn child, leaving the elder wizard half-brother to his own fate.
No one was ever meant to know the true origins of Poseidon's newest naiad daughter, Lorelei Jackson (fem Percy) and how she came to be in her mother Sally’s care, until a resurrected Lily Potter takes an identity test which reveals that she has a second child.
Harry Potter and the Son of Zeus
Summary:
Instead of meeting and being wooed by Poseidon, Sally Jackson, daughter of Voldemort and the reincarnation of Danäe, meets Zeus that fateful summer at Montauk beach. She gives birth to the reincarnation of her own son Perseus, slayer of Medusa and son of Zeus. Unfortunately, Voldemort is the reincarnation of Acrisius, long dead king of Argos and Danäe’s father.
And he has a score to settle with Sally's son.
Mortal Son of Immortal Gods
Summary: Harry Potter gets the shock of his life when he learns that his parents were the mortal incarnations of the god Zeus and Titaness Leto. Shenanigans ensue when Artemis and Apollo, Zeus and Leto's divine children decide to step out of the shadows and take a much more active role in their baby brother's life than they had previously.
The Order of the Phoenix and Why you don’t anger a god.
Summary:
“Once upon a time the man who would one day be known as Lord Voldemort had a granddaughter. Said granddaughter ran away from the magical world after becoming pregnant with a non-magical hybrid of man and god, and was never seen again.”
When the Order of the Phoenix learn that Sally Jackson is Voldemort’s granddaughter, they come to forcibly collect her, her children and husband to keep them “safe” from Voldemort. Percy disagrees with this.
And perhaps more alarmingly, so does Poseidon.
Coco & Monsters, Inc. Crossover
Hymns for the Missing: Edwin and the Terrible Day at Work
Summary:
A small one-shot I cooked up for an au where Damario and Ana survive and get to raise Harmonia. Which is very unfortunate for a poor scarer employed by Monsters Inc. in Monstropolis.

Encanto: Madrigal Family Relationship Analysis Part 25 - Mirabel and Felix
Not much is now about this uncle-niece duo but I think one scene in particular sheds light on their relationship: Their talk right before the WDTAB song - When Mirabel is curious about Bruno and his gift, Felix comes in (dramatically) to tell her, even explaining to Pepa that it's best for Mirabel to know. In that short moment, Felix listens to and honestly gives his youngest advice the answer she's seeking (even if said answer is vague and not entirely accurate). But, we see that Felix is genuinely taking Mirabel's concerns seriously; that shows how much he respects and loves Mirabel. Then, when the house is collapsing, Felix can be heard shouting for Mirabel to get out and he's then shown looking for her when she goes missing; both times indicating that Felix has a strong, paternal protective side for his niece. On the other hand, Mirabel has nothing but respect and love for her uncle; if you were to ask her the best description of him, she would say without hesitation, "The definition of cool uncle!" And I also think she and Felix (with Agustin) formed their own special "non gift" trio (as seen in a deleted scene), mainly because they wanted to help Mirabel not feel bad about not having a gift.

my top 10 favorite animation from the last 10 years.
I includes movies, television shows, and a short film. I'm no animation expert, but these are stories that I enjoyed and stuck with me the most. Anything that was released from 2015-2024 is fair game.
This list is entirely subjective and based on my opinions and preferences.
10. Nimona (2023)
Animation: ★★★★★
Characters: ★★★★☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★☆☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★☆☆
Songs: N/A
Notes: I read the original graphic novel in 2019, and I thought the movie did a good job adapting it to the screen. The climax of the story was so moving.
9. Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure (2017-2020)
Animation: ★★★★★
Characters: ★★★★☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★★☆
Emotions: ★★★☆☆
Personal Connection: ★★★☆☆
Songs: ★★★★★
Notes: The songs are a highlight. There are several that I listen to on a regular basis.
8. Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake (2023)
Animation: ★★★★☆
Characters: ★★★★☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★☆☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★☆☆☆
Songs: ★★★☆☆
Notes: I didn’t watch the original series, Adventure Time, but I am certain that if I had, I would have rated this higher.
7. Inside Out (2015)
Animation: ★★★★☆
Characters: ★★☆☆☆
World: ★★★★★
Plot: ★★★☆☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★★★
Songs: N/A
Notes: I have so much nostalgia for this film. Although I didn’t include it here, the sequel was also great, having similarly powerful emotional beats.

6. Coco (2017)
Animation: ★★★★☆
Characters: ★★★☆☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★★☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★★★
Songs: ★★★★☆
Notes: As a Latina, I am morally obligated to include Coco on this list. The reprise to Remember Me is one of my favorite scenes of all time.
5. The Acorn Princess (2020)
Animation: ★★★☆☆
Characters: ★★★★☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★☆☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★☆☆
Songs: N/A
Notes: This is the only indie short film on my list. This hidden gem has stuck with me since saw it in 2020. A queer princess is my favorite trope.
4. Steven Universe (2013-2019)
Animation: ★★★☆☆
Characters: ★★★★☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★☆☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★☆☆
Songs: ★★★★☆
Notes: I started watching the series a few days after A Single Pale Rose came out. Even if I missed out on the theories and build-up, watching the final couple episodes as they aired was magical.

3. Encanto (2021)
Animation: ★★★★☆
Characters: ★★★★★
World: ★★★☆☆
Plot: ★★★☆☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★★☆
Songs: ★★★★★
Notes: This might be my favorite Disney movie. The songs are fire, the characters are compelling, and the emotional beats are incredibly moving. Also, I've always got to shout out any Latino representation!

2. Gravity Falls (2012-2016)
Animation Style: ★★☆☆☆
Characters: ★★★★☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★★★
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★☆☆
Songs: N/A
Notes: I only started watching this show in late 2024, but it is my current obsession. I wish I had seen this show earlier!

1. The Owl House (2020-2023)
Animation Style: ★★★★★
Characters: ★★★★☆
World: ★★★★☆
Plot: ★★★★☆
Emotions: ★★★★★
Personal Connection: ★★★★★
Songs: N/A
Notes: I have fond memories of watching new episodes on Saturday mornings, then discussing them with friends at school on Monday. I was a fan since season 1, and I got to grow up with Luz. I started watching the show as a nerdy middle schooler, but I watched the finale with my high school girlfriend.

Hear me out-
The X-Men with a reader who can cancel out mutations, like when they're near someone, let's say Cyclops for example, he can take off his glasses and his eyes don't shoot out lasers.
I think it'd be funny to have it so the reader isn't even aware of their mutation, like one day one of them slips up or tries to use their powers around the reader but nothing happens 💀
Having a mutation that stops their powers (X-Men and The Brotherhood)
I LOVE THIS I'm actually going to do this with the X-Men and the Brotherhood because there's so many possibilities.
TODD (I'm just putting him first because he's my fav):
• You and Todd hang out a lot. For some reason, he just feels calmer around you (little does he know, you actually take away the stressful parts of his mutation, like the sensitive skin and everything)
• I feel like he still eats flies because he's used to it, so he doesn't notice that you took away the frog part of his brain that actually needs them for nourishment
• He doesn't actually realize that you have that mutation until he goes to jump and just.. falls on his face.
• He freaks out at first, but he does appreciate not being so slimy and all of that
• Sometimes if he wants to shower (check out my headcanons on why he can't use soap), he'll call you over
PIETRO:
• He. Hates. You.
• Not actually, because I don't write angst very often, but he doesn't appreciate the power you hold over him.
• You're like a more annoying Wanda in his eyes.
• He always gets on your nerves (because he obviously will, I don't care how cute he is), and you always end each argument by taking away his powers.
• "Very funny! Now stop."
WANDA:
• You think she can't kill you without powers?
• Just kidding, ofc. She loves you.
• But, she's very used to being controlled and her powers being held back, so I actually think she wouldn't appreciate you using it against her.
• If you don't know about your powers yet, then she's obviously not going to get mad at you.
• Actually, she's very sympathetic. She knows what it's like to have uncontrollable powers.
FRED:
• Would he really notice? I don't think his body would change. Maybe he'd lose some strength though, but he'd probably just think he's getting sick or something
• Or he would freak out and feel useless without his powers, leading to a breakdown (think Luisa from Encanto idk)
LANCE:
• (I don't know if anyone else noticed this in the show, but HE MAKES THE STUPIDEST FACES WHEN USING HIS POWER ITS SO FUNNY)
• I imagine he goes to use his power and nothing happens so he just stands there like 🧍
• LIKE ELEVEN IN THAT ONE SCENE OF STRANGER THINGS LMAOO
TABITHA:
• She'd probably be really chill about it, but after a minute she'd really miss using her powers.
• So she freaks out a little, but she plays it cool in front of everyone.
• Hey, she's a complex person!
SCOTT:
• He's so confused, he just stares blankly at everyone and no one knows what's happening
• like this: 😨
• After everyone found out about what happened, he actually kind of loves it.
• Imagine always having to wear sunglasses, I would get so sick of those powers. So, he enjoys the little break
• Just make sure to tell him when you leave the room, because he's used to keeping his eyes open when you're around
ROGUE:
• Yeah, we all know she needs this.
• She would get really excited, going around and poking people's shoulders
• Getting surprised when nothing happens and just being like "okay, just checking!"
• She finally gets to hug her friends and high five people and all of that fun loving stuff
• A bit disappointed when it ends, but she doesn't blame you
• Yes, she's a bit closed off. But deep down, all she really wants is to be able to live her life without fear.
KURT:
• As much as he would like it to, I don't think the mutation would take any physical traits.
• So the beautiful blue boy would have to stay looking like the dude from Avatar </3
• Which obviously isn't a bad thing, because he's perfect just the way he is, but Kurt is severely disappointed.
• The teleportation was the only good thing about his powers! And that's all that went away.
• He's not angry at you, just angry at himself for.. existing, I guess.
• HE DESERVES SO MUCH LOVE I CANT
• Your powers don't really do much, expect keeping him from running away during arguments. Which could be very helpful.
JEAN:
• Another one that I believe would appreciate your powers
• Jean has to deal with a lot of things, including the involuntary mind reading (which I'm guessing absolutely sucks, because who would ever want that power!?)
• So, until she controls that, it can be a bit overwhelming.
• Then, you come along. And it's silent. For once in her life, the only voice in Jeans head is her own.
• She obviously goes into protective mother mode during the chaos, making sure no one else is panicking while they try to figure out what's happening
• But she's honestly really relieved the entire time.
KITTY:
• Unfortunately, she finds out right when she's running into a wall (because I think that's funny comedic timing)
• I think she'd be a little relieved too, since we learned her worst fear is her powers trapping her underground and things like that
• So sometimes I think using her powers makes her really nervous, thinking she'd accidentally get trapped and suffocate or something.
• So, whenever she needs a break from that anxiety, she knows exactly who to turn to
All in all, I think this is a really cute idea and I loved writing about it. Thank you for the request, I had so much fun with this!!

An alternate take on "Encanto" (2021)

Back to my rewrites! Everyone raves about this movie, but I've got some things I'd rework, personally.

Have Luisa and Isabela play larger roles in the story with Mirabel. It was easy for me to forget Luisa was Mirabel's sister since they don't really interact much, and she and Isabela need more time for their arcs to fully flourish. Examples include placing "Surface Pressure" later in the film so that her breakdown is more gradual as she keeps bottling up her emotions, as well as Isabela's breakdown being less obvious and more of a surprise to the audience, as she's more convincing about going along with Alma's wishes. We could also get a scene where Agustin comforts Luisa after she loses her gift, having a similar moment to Fa Zhou and Mulan.

2. DON'T FORGET ANTONIO! It was stated that Antonio is like a little brother to Mirabel, but he weaves in and out of the story, his most important role being discovering his powers and providing Bruno with a new vision cave in his room. It'd be fun to see him tag along with Mirabel, Luisa, and Isabela.

3. Flesh out Dolores' feelings for Mariano, and make Mariano feel like a person with substance. She only mentions it for short periods of time in WDTAB and AOY, and it comes across as very unsatisfying. When she confessed to him, I was like "Oh yeah, I forgot she liked him." Plus maybe alter Mariano a bit; the general vibe is that since he has a lot of love to give, he's quick to rush things, but I like the idea that he gets to know people a bit better to show he's serious about being in love (and idk if Dolores was serious about him wanting a lot of kids, but I think that'd also be a factor for him being careful with who to give his heart). With Mariano, he's kinda used for laughs, falling in love at random and being Isabella's punching bag twice, with Mirabel referring to him as a big, dumb, hunk. He's more of a plot device than a character. I'd probably rewrite him so that he has a crush on Isabella, which his mother (or was she his grandmother) encourages similar to Alma pushing Isabela. Given his romanticism and similar mindset of pleasing the family, he essentially only focuses on Isabela since he thinks the marriage is happening without question and tells himself to only focus on her perfectionism, inadvertently stifling her individuality.

4. Embrace Mirabel's parents more. A big part of the story is how alone Mirabel feels, but at times it makes her parents look bad. They pose for a picture without her and they don't stand up for her until AFTER she goes missing. Plus I feel like their feelings about the family aren't focused on since they've already gotten used to it; seeing how inferior Agustin feels and how as the oldest, Julieta feels like she has to be perfect would've been a nice touch.

5. Dolores has telepathy. Dolores knowing what everyone says at the EXACT moment they say it as well as knowing that the rats were concerned about the magic despite lacking animal communication (though Antonio could've told her, she mentioned it like she knew it firsthand) feels like she has telepathy rather than purely having superhuman hearing.
Lemme know what you think! I may edit this later.

Encanto Bloopers I made up
Like my previous post, these were made slightly less than 2 years ago and posted on the Encanto wiki. Yes ik I'm being a bit lazy but whatever. So you remember when animated movies would sometimes have animated bloopers as a bonus? Well here's my take on an Encanto themed one.
Comedy isn't my best thing so I hope these are actually kinda funny.
After Antonio finishes his ride with Parce, his jaguar, Pepa and Félix run over to hug him. Meanwhile, Parce puts a little too much force on his hug with Agustín, causing both of them to fall over. "I'm alright!"
"Look, if I could help anymore I would but um...that's all I know. Good luck. I wish I could've seen more." "Yeah........Yeah!" Mirabel kicks the door open, instead of it simply opening, it came off the hinges. "Uhhh......We might need to repair that." Bruno tries to hide his laugh.
"Luisa, Dolores says you're totally freaking out. Any chance you know something about last night with the magic--" Luisa's eye twitches. "--YOU DO!" Mirabel slams the table but accidentally hits the rim of her plate, causing food to fly everywhere. "Everywhere" meaning mostly onto Pepa's face. Nobody, not even Pepa, couldn't help laughing.
Everyone's doing their choreography at the dinner table for "We Don't Talk About Bruno". Camilo, Félix and Agustín toss the glasses to each other. Agustín throws it a bit too far, making Camilo miss and the glass shatters on the floor. "Whoops." Mirabel's still watching in the background, chuckling. "What did I tell you? Papá's accident-prone."
Convincing Bruno for a vision-Take 2. "Yeah........Yeah!" Mirabel, once again, tries to kick the door open, but this time, Mirabel kicked a hole in the door. "We're never getting this scene done." Mirabel and Bruno both start laughing uncontrollably.
Mirabel was trying to talk to Dolores outside while she got breakfast. Behind her was Dolores and Félix. "Camilo! Stop pretending you’re Dolores so you can have seconds." Though, Dolores didn't shift back. "Camilo, uh, why aren't you shifting back?" Dolores couldn't hold it in anymore. She burst out laughing as "Dolores" behind Félix shifts into Camilo. "Yes! We finally got him!" They've tried for a long time to fool him. Félix gave an "of course they would do this" look and laughed.
CRACK! Mirabel quickly turns around while hiding the vision. "Tía jeez!" "Sorry, sorry I-I-I didn't mean to-shoo, shoo, sho-AH!" While Pepa was pushing her cloud out, she gave herself a slight shock. She's fine. "Mirabel consider yourself lucky you didn't get a gift." She was being half-witty half-serious.
Bruno, goofing off, said in a very causal tone, "Hey, when you save the Encanto come visit. Hey get outta here!" Bruno tried to even act "cool" by leaning on the painting door. The painting moved further causing Bruno to fall over. Mirabel tried to hold in her laughter.
"LOOK! It's Mr. Mariano! Hey you can marr-mar-maaughh!" "Hey you can mar-mar-marry, shoot!." "Hey you can marry my sister if you wanna. Buween. Buween? Great, I invented a new word! It's 'but' and 'between' mixed together." Isabela, Mariano and Mirabel all started to laugh at the newly invented word.
"But what's your gift?" Mirabel suddenly gets an accordion thrown at her, except she almost drops it. "Almost" as in, centimeters away from hitting the floor and breaking. "Ah! We're good! We're good!"
After the chaotic dinner, some of the family ran out of the dining room. "Abuela, please! There's got to be an explanation!" "I hate you!" "WAA I'M A LOSER!!" "Luisa-AHHH!!" Agustín slips on a puddle and lands face first. "What did you d-AH!" Pepa followed and tripped on Agustín. "Mamá? I think we need some arepas."
"Casita! Casita! Help me! Help me!" Mirabel looses grip and falls down the pit. Bruno runs over but fails to catch Mirabel's hand. "Ah! No, no, no!" Mirabel's fine. She said in a very dramatic tone, "Oh no! I'm falling to my death! Ahhhhh." Bruno couldn't hold in his laughter.
Mirabel is having her pep talk with Antonio under her bed. "You're gonna get your gift, and open that door, and it's gonna be the coolest, ever. I know it." Antonio stares blankly at her. "Wait what was my line?" He and Mirabel start laughing.
"Seven-foot frame, rats along his back!" Camilo shifts back-and-forth between himself and Bruno, while two rats appear on Camilo's back, except there's supposed to be three. "Wait, where's Carlos?" Antonio found him. "He's right here! He says he doesn't want to do it anymore." "What? How can he not want to do this?! This is the best part of the song!" Bruno walks in (without a mischievous grin). "Carlos, if you do this scene, you can have extra food for a week." "He says for two weeks." "Fine." "Okay, now he'll do it." Meanwhile Mirabel is giggling in the background. Who knew rats were good negotiators?
