hey Dom if you're into sxf I have another anime I think you'd like. it's in like. the same genre as sxf ig (professional killers taking care of a little girl/becoming a family) but it's like. two assassins *accidentally* acquire a four year old girl and are now juggling being parents in Japan with killing people. it's called "buddy daddies" which frankly is an unfortunate title to say/type but trust me it's good

when it comes to media I trust you with my life so I'll definitely give it a watch!! I wonder if it's on hulu.....I'll try and find it.

Neither of us could come up with anything better, so we shot that line, still not entirely satisfied.” Viewers felt entirely differently. “The audience just exploded,” Wilder said. “That line got one of the biggest laughs I’ve ever heard in the theater. But we just hadn’t trusted it when we wrote it; we just didn’t see it. ‘Nobody’s perfect.’ The line had come too easily, just popped out.”

wouldn't newt be more on the cursed side of your graph? with his inability to hold down a job and comical issues with machines. unless I'm misunderstanding the blessed/cursed axis

he could be, yeah. you’re not misunderstanding it, bc it’s open to any interpretation, but bc of the abundance of characters who are literally demons and angels, the way i used it for this purpose was mostly for that axis to reflect a proximity to heaven or hell. for the humans, i considered the terms “cursed” and “blessed” in the same way i’d use them to describe a person’s energy, rather than their personal levels of misfortune, if that makes sense.

(forgive my rusty memory of Amok Time it’s been a few years since I watched it, or any star trek really)

Spock felt it was only right he help his captain back to his room after all he’d put him through. Logically, it would help ease any future tensions between them from this incident. It would foster better relations, keep their professional relationship professional. 

Emotionally, Spock was still feeling... guilt. Every part of him was attempting to reject that emotion, put him on the path of truth and logic that would deny such an emotion it’s place in his heart but... he had hurt his captain. He had almost killed his captain. That pain would weigh in his heart longer than he could fathom, no matter how he meditated or tried to block it out. 

“Mr. Spock, I appreciate your help but I can take it from here,” Kirk said, smiling wryly at how Spock helped him through the door to his room. 

“Yes, captain,” Spock said, removing his arms from Kirk’s form. Doctor McCoy had said the captain only needed some rest to recover from the incident, but Spock still felt he owed Kirk any assistance he might require. 

“That doesn’t mean you have to go,” Kirk said softly as Spock approached the door, ready to leave Kirk to his privacy. Spock arched one eyebrow, curious as to why Kirk might desire his presence after all he had done. 

“Captain?”

“You can call me Jim when we’re off the bridge, you know that,” Kirk laughed quietly as he seated himself on the edge of his bed. “I think we’ve earned a little freedom from formality after all we’ve been through together.”

“Sir,” Spock started, but at the look that spread across Kirk’s face... the utterly human look, he found himself amending his address. “Jim...”

“You’re alright, aren’t you, Spock?” Kirk asked, a worried glance sizing up his first mate. 

“I am fit to attend to my duties,” Spock said. “I think, perhaps, you would be best off addressing further concerns to yourself.”

“Oh, I’m fine,” Kirk said. “I’ve been through a few rough scrapes, with less at stake mind you.”

“I am sorry... I never intended to risk your li-”

“Spock,” Kirk sighed, fixing his brown eyes on the vulcan. “I didn’t mean myself.”

Spock tried not to squirm under such a gaze, it was unbecoming of a vulcan of his age and practice. “Jim?”

“I’m glad you’re alright is all,” Kirk said, a smile creasing his lips. Spock drew closer, against every thought in his head he drew closer to the man that had risked his life just to help him through the hardest moment of any vulcan life. 

“I am pleased to see you ‘alright’ as well,” he said. 

Kirk’s smile grew wider as he extended a hand, all but two of his fingers folded in. It was an invitation, a respectful recognition of Spock’s culture and a the hesitant invitation of human infatuation. Spock would have smiled, had the feature not been so foreign to him. He’d already smiled enough at discovering his captain alive and well at the end of it all, grasping his arms in both hands and declaring with a grin “Jim!”

Spock pressed his fingers to Kirk’s, his heart growing warm and fond beyond anything he’d ever known. “Thank you,” he said, knowing Jim would translate the solemn gesture into the more human “I love you”
