hunith comes to camelot to visit merlin and absolutely no one can understand how this sweet, loving, caring, polite woman sired The Menace that is merlin. especially uther. he normally doesn’t care for peasants but since arthur is fond of merlin and merlin insists on…being merlin, he’s intrigued by how different hunith is. hunith keeps things civil tho she detests his policies on magic and the whole purge business, but then she sees firsthand how uther treats her son in law- i mean arthur. her anger grows quick and she sees it reflected in merlin but merlin adores arthur and doesn’t want to put his position at arthur’s right hand in jeopardy so he bites his tongue. hunith has no such reservations. she stands before uther, back straight and eyes meeting his. she speaks evenly as she rips him a new asshole for how he treats arthur before socking him in the jaw so hard he stumbles back and has to grab the table to stay on his feet. as shes glaring down at him everyone suddenly sees just how merlin is her son.

Christmas Eve…the night before Christmas, for many Christmas Eve was a time of laughing and good cheer, outside the world slept under a blanket of snow, there was a quiet understanding of something magical the one night everyone agreed maybe just maybe there was something magical on this earth. Christmas Eve was not just a day but a feeling of happiness and good cheer. Where somebody can pretend that everything was okay.

For Merlin it was a time to remember all that he’s lost, all that was broken. A family he once knew.

Somebody he once loved.

For today he stood where the shores of Avalon once lay. Now it was a private lake where you could only look out over a cliff. Merlin came to this cliff every Christmas Eve as he remembers.

Arthur.

The lake was just as beautiful as when Arthur had died in it, perhaps even more beautiful because the sun, the light that was once in the man he once loved was now consumed by the lake. The lake was silver like a diamond flame and the atmosphere was a quiet peaceful night. As the moon shone above it. Bright glowing yellow and white it created a soft silver glow.

i'm going through my google drive and weeding through all my shit to make some space and i keep coming across old fics i abandoned and some of em i'm like damn someone should finish that and then there's others that make me laugh so hard,,, who knew i could sometimes be funny?? ig its bc its my humor so its tailored specifically to me but whatever....cue montage of lines/paragraphs that make me laugh

Voltron fic that i have completely forgotten the plot of. I think the spirit of Lance McClain inhabited me to write these lines because they were one after another. I barely got my breath before the next one hit:

Merlin Fanfic Snippet: A Kingdom's Sorrow

Merlin laid his cane on the ground as he carefully kneeled down next to the water. He placed the waterskin into the creek. As he filled it up, he looked around, thinking Mithian might have left a sign of some sort. His eyes quickly landed on a rock with the name 'Morgana' etched into it.

Everything clicked into place. The need to stay by the princess' side. Why Mithian was so terrified? In the heat of the realization, Merlin stood up, abandoning the waterskin and his cane, momentarily forgetting that he needed it, adrenaline clouding his judgment. He stumbled a few steps as he yelled out, "ARTHUR!"

Before he had a chance to say or do anything else, he found himself flying through the air toward a nearby tree. He felt his head connect with one of the roots that was sticking out of the ground. The warlock quickly ignored the pain and turned around. Before he could even think of a spell to cast, Morgana's magic was choking him.

Morgana glared at the meddling fool. He wasn't going to stop her this time. This time she would come out on top. Nothing and no one was going to get in her way.

In the haze of his pain and inability to breathe, he tried to move the invisible hand that was choking him. After several more seconds, he lost consciousness. The last thing he heard was Arthur calling his name.
