May the 4th was just last week but I was having withdrawals, so I was excited when I passed by @SweetMelodyIceCream and I found Baby Yoda’s Man Bun. What’s that you ask? It’s a pistachio ice cream with crunchy praline pecans & bacon butterscotch cinnamon buns. I’m ashamed (and surprisingly proud at the same time…weird I know) to say that I ate more than half the pint in one sitting. Swipe to see the gory details. This week started off with a bang. This Monday was the official launch of the Bagel breakfast sandwiches at all @McDonalds in the South Florida area. This is the Steak, Egg, and Cheese version, which has a steak patty topped with 2 slices of American cheese, a folded egg, and grilled onions. TBH, I had never tried these myself when they were available back in the day. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The buttered bagels were on the softer side, which was perfect for this hearty sandwich (dare I call it a breakfast burger?). We have to thank @BurgerBeast and his campaign to #BringBagelsBack for this great sandwich being back on the breakfast menu. Livin’ the good life at @TheFoodTruckStore.US This is their Oklahoma Burger. It’s a double smashed cheese burger with onions. It’s excellent and pairs well with the IPA they have on tap (didn’t get the name, sorry). That is all. Unique take on the classic chicken & waffles by @coopmiami was 🔥 To start, it was made into a handheld by using the waffles as buns. Genius! The waffles were savory cheddar waffles. And the perfectly fried chicken breasts were topped with pickled onions and pepper jelly. The pièce the résistance was the sweet & sumptuous Whiskey maple syrup that tied all the flavors together nicely. It wasn’t spicy, but the pepper jelly did add a little heat. Not a lot, but enough to make it interesting. Best burger in the world? That’s a tough claim to live up to but that’s what @LaBirraBarUSA says about their burgers. This is their fried onion burger (with lots of onions) and it was pretty good. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and the patties were hand made. Would I call it the “best burger in the world”? No, but it is a tasty, good quality burger. I’ve had better burgers in Miami before (e.g. @ProofMiami, @PinchMiami, @LokalCoconutGrove, @Ariete, just to name a few). What do you think? These beauties from @TheFoodTruckStore.US brought out the beast in me. Devoured them and even licked my fingers. I first heard about @RodoCamara from @MotzBurger’s feed and seeing his visits to @TheFoodTruckStore in Argentina. And, you can clearly see and taste Motz’s influence in the Oklahoma burger (swipe to see it). It was a simple burger with onions, 2 smashed beef patties, & American cheese between @potatorolls. But the taste, oh the taste, was amazing! The meat blend they use is very flavorful and seasoned very well. The 1st burger pictured was also very good and was topped with bacon, caramelized onions, BBQ, American cheese, and pulled pork. My favorite was the Oklahoma, though. Simple burgers really are the best burgers. My favorite @MichaelsGenuineBurger was the BBQ Brisket burger. The brisket was super tasty and was perfectly matched by the sweet caramelized onions. The BBQ sauce wasn’t overpowering or too much so it didn’t detract from the main event. If you’re a fan of sweet & savory, this is the burger to try. Started and ended August with the best burger I had this month: The @Pincho Miami Cowboy Burger. I upgraded it this time around with some fried cheese and it was even better. I always look forward to the beginning of the month because that’s when @Pincho comes out with their monthly special. This month it’s a brand new creation (at least that I know of): the Miami Cowboy Burger. Most of you burger lovers know about the Cowboy burger with the usual onion rings, BBQ, bacon and cheddar cheese. Well, this one has all that and then some, Miami style. It has candied jalapeño for some sweet heat (wasn’t too spicy though). The sauce is Carolina BBQ sauce which is different than the usual BBQ sauces I’m used to and gives it an extra punch of flavor. The tobacco onion strings were savory & crispy, adding some nice texture. Overall, it was a great new take on the usual cowboy burger. Ok, guess where this burger is from. Go on, I’ll wait…when you’re ready scroll down to find out if you were right and what I thought about it. . . . Yes, keep scrolling… . . . Not many would believe this was from a gas station. This is @Wawa’s $5 burger that’s only available after 4 PM. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I really had no idea what to expect. If I had to compare the taste to a fast food burger, I would say it’s closer to BK and their chargrilled flavor. They have a plethora of combinations you can make with your burger: 5 cheeses, 16 free toppings (+3 paid), and 10 sauces. That’s a lot of different combinations. I like that they add 2 slices of cheese, one below the burger patty and one above, which is like a cheese cuddle (at least in my head). I added 2 of the paid toppings, bacon and caramelized onions, for a whopping $1 total. The bread is soft and seems to brioche or at least very similar. Overall, I really liked the flavor. It’s a solid burger. For it to be from a gas station, was mind-blowing. A definite must-try if you’re in the area. #spideylikesburgers #burgerlife

Finally trying @AJsSinnaBuns. So good! The brioche dough is pillowy soft and the flavors are on point. If you’re a fan of cinnamon buns then you have to try these. They strike a graceful balance between the actual bun and the cinnamon filling. Some others have so much cinnamon that it over powers the bun and it simply becomes a thoughtless vessel for the cinnamon. Not so with these. I feel like the dough plays a much more important part in the whole experience with these buns. The cinnamon filling and creme cheese topping are literally the icing on the proverbial “cake”. They unequivocally let you know you’re eating a cinnamon bun without becoming the center of attention. Perfect. Balance.

Last night’s #EatWhatYouWantDay escapades had me trying @Pincho’s Quesadilla Burger. No, your eyes are not deceiving you: the buns are cheese quesadillas. And it actually works! It’s topped with guac, queso fresco, tomatoes, and crema. Since the buns are not just simple tortillas, but 2 flour tortillas with melted cheese in the middle, they support the weight of the burger well and are not floppy like a single tortilla would be. It’s actually an ingenious idea. The quesadilla “buns” were not cooked too much, so they were still soft, but just enough to get the cheese inside melted and the 2 tortillas fused together. The toppings reminded me of a Mexican restaurant akin to those you would put on a taco or a quesadilla. Everything in this burger just works. The flavors meld well together to create a magnificently delicious burger. Some may be hesitant, but trust me, it was great. The @Tap42Bar Short Rib Sliders are surprisingly filling. They look like 2 small sliders but they’re packed with meaty goodness. The patties are thick, resembling a meatball more than a hamburger, though the flavor is all burger. The blend they use is very tasty and is the same as in their classic burger. The difference, though, are the toppings: braised short rib, cheddar, & dijonnaise. And what a difference they make. I love their classic burger, yet these toppings are so good, I may order their classic burger next time with a side of short rib and dijonnaise. #spideylikesburgers #burgerlife #tap42

Late night fried chicken sando run. Tried the new @McDonalds Spicy Crispy Chicken sandwich in my quest for fried chicken sandwich greatness. It was a good sandwich and definitely an improvement on their regular one (love that new potato bun). From this first tasting, I wouldn’t say it’s at the top of my fast-food fried chicken sandwich list. Will I give them another chance? Of course. @EatSTK Wagyu Burger: $7.99 Not having to drive to Miami Beach: Priceless If you haven’t tried the the Wagyu Burger at STK, I understand you because I don’t make it to Miami Beach that often. But I just discovered that they only offer it as a takeout and delivery special and it’s on @UberEats. The $7.99 price includes fries and is a steal for the quality of burger you’re getting. And, it’s only at that price for takeout/delivery. You can’t order it at the restaurant, at least for this price. The burger itself was a 7oz Wagyu beef patty that was cooked a perfect medium temperature and was pink throughout. It has a special truffle sauce which is really good. It comes with the standard LTO, but I took them out as this burger didn’t need them IMO (some onions may have remained stuck to the brioche bun). I did add bacon (extra $3) and was glad I did because it was a slab of juicy, thick-cut bacon that was very flavorful. #spideylikesburgers #wagyuburger #trufflesauce #burgerdelivery
