Polly update! Polly is doing great! Here’s a note from her foster mom: “Polly is very sweet. I was surprised at how trusting she is based on everything she’s been through. Warmed up to us in no time. She plays with toys and I can see her personality coming out more. We let her do some walking this weekend, and I found she was putting some weight on the back leg, which is a good sign. Stitches look awesome, and she takes her meds no problem. She doesn’t even whimper when I pick her up now, so her pain seems to be under control. Everything seems to be progressing as it should be. ***URGENT*** **SAVE GG's LIFE*** GG IS STILL LOOKING FOR A COMMITTED, LOVING HOME Cincinnati Animal CARE will once again be participating with BISSELL Pet Foundation's for another #EmptyTheShelters event October 1 through October 8! This is an excellent time to adopt GG. All dogs over the age of 6 months will have their adoption fees reduced. He is one of the dogs from a cruelty case and will not be posted on Cincinnati Animal CARE's website. He was emaciated when he came to the shelter so food is his one great love! If you are searching for a "heart of gold" this is him. Golden coat, golden eyes and a heart of gold. He has stunning markings. He coat is golden but you can see slight brown brindle markings on his back. He will definitely turn heads on a walk. He has an angelic temperament but can be a little vocal when he wants his way. For example I asked him to sit -- he looked to see if I had a treat for him and I didn't so he started barking. Not at me but into the air like he was frustrated. I thought it was kind of snarky of him. He didn't respond at all when he saw other dogs from the car. I would estimate GG to be about 3 or 4 years old and around 60-70 pounds. He seems to enjoy car rides and walks but he is a medium to low energy dog and would probably rather be laying around in a quiet home. He knows how to sit and he is VERY treat motivated. He wouldn't need any basic obedience training since he walks very well on a leash and listens well. He has had an unduly rough start to his young life and needs a committed loving home. Why the heck am I posting about rabbits, small animals… and donations that went to East Valley that then got transferred to West Valley… Because we’re all on the same team. Someone reached out to me. I connected north and east small animal/bunny rooms… Both of them had plenty of supplies… But knew that West Valley was short… Coordinations happened. Driving happened…. New friends were made. As everyone knows west valley as well as the other shelters are full, however west valley really needed some help, love and support cause they were low on supplies. As volunteers we all care and try to help whenever we can. Thank you also to @tomkiesche, @iluvmolybdenum and @bunnies_of_north_central for helping get this together. In this time of crowded shelters where there is no room we appreciate donations to help get these animals seen, happy and hopefully rescued or adopted. They donated cages, houses all brand new. Also they donated for the medical animals urine stain remover and diapers which helps our animals that need more medical attention. Double dog rescue! Finnegan and Frank are a pair of bonded Lhasa Apsos who came into Hamilton Animal Services as strays. They were severely matted when they arrived, but they were happy and friendly boys. No owner came forward to claim Frank and Finnegan, and we were happy to get these sweet guys out of the shelter and into the safety of a foster home. At their vet visit, blood work showed that Finnegan had a high white blood cell count, so he was started on medication to hopefully clear up whatever was causing the infection. Otherwise, Frank and Finnegan are healthy, and they will be neutered in a couple of weeks. Frank and Finnegan are doing well in their foster home so far, and we know they’ll be lovely companions for the right family when they’re ready. If all goes well with their neuters, they’ll be made available for adoption once they’re healed from surgery. Welcome to Ladybird, Finnegan and Frank!
