cameras pop like fireworks, and the noise of the crowd seems to press in from all directions. tonight is chris' launch dinner to celebrate the release of his new single. you tug at the hem of your dress, suddenly aware of how short it feels under the glare of dozens of lenses.

chris is beside you, his hand firm on the small of your back, guiding you toward the restaurant’s entrance. his usual confidence is there, but tonight, his jaw is tight. you can feel it—the tension radiating off him as the paparazzi shout his name and yours, their voices a symphony of commands:

"chris, over here!" "smile, sweetheart!" "hey, let us see that dress!"

your heart pounds in your chest, a mix of adrenaline and unease. one of them steps closer, the lens of his camera brushing uncomfortably close to your arm. you instinctively pull closer to chris, your grip on his hand tightening.

"you good?" he murmurs, low enough that only you can hear. you nod quickly, knowing that if you speak your voice will tremble, but your glance toward the swarm of cameras betrays your nerves.

then it happens. a shout—some crude joke you don’t fully catch—but you feel it, the way one photographer crouches too low, his camera angled up in a way that makes your stomach twist. he just got a shot up your dress. he fucking got a shot up your dress.

"chris," you whisper, your voice shaky, but he’s already noticed.

"yo!" he barks, his voice sharp enough to cut through the chaos. the murmurs die down for a second, just long enough for him to step in front of you, shielding you from view. "the fuck you doin', huh?"

the paparazzo stumbles back, trying to laugh it off, but chris isn’t having it. his hands are balled into fists at his sides, his whole body taut like he’s ready to swing. "fuckin' think you're slick? fuck was that, huh?" he grumbles in anger.

"chris, please," you whisper, your voice shaking, but he’s locked in, his glare cutting through the paparazzo like a knife.

the guy stammers something about "just doing his job," but chris takes a step closer, his voice dropping low and deadly. "job?" he scoffs, "nah, put that fuckin' camera down before i make you."

when you both finally step into the restaurant, the noise fades from the commotion outside. chris is still fuming, his chest rising and falling like he just stepped offstage.

"listen, m'sorry mama," he says, his voice raw but sincere. "they don’t know how to act, but i ain’t lettin’ shit like that slide."

"it’s okay," you whisper, even though your hands are still shaking.

he nods, his jaw still tight, but his hand finds yours, his grip reassuring. "i gotchu," he says firmly. "ain’t nobody messin’ with you while m'around."

and you know he means it.

My reactions to Advent No. 3

(Warning: spoilers)

I actually lived in Japan during Attack on Titan’s peak popularity. It was everywhere. They even had a live action movie that a bunch of my coworkers rushed to see. Ironically, I never saw or read any of it. At that point, I had already passed my anime/manga phase — especially living in Japan. It’s so much darker when you experience it in Japan.

Anyway, fast forward a decade. Now I’m playing AN3 and everyone’s saying it’s a knock off of AOT. Well, since I haven’t actually read or seen any AOT, I can’t compare the two.

I will say, the AI prologue right off the bat was disappointing. It wasn’t visually appealing at all. It just looked lazy to me and didn’t set the right mood for me.

As someone not knowledgeable about AOT, the set up of the city and civilization was extremely detailed and confusing. There were so many divisions, sectors, subsectors, socioeconomic classes. Their military also had multiple factions. It was hard to keep track of everything and I honestly don’t remember any of it now.

I do like the MC sprites. I thought they were all very pretty. The first one kinda looks like Emma Watson when she smiles. Her name… Raina Rayne? 😬 Ick. It sounds awful. What bothers me the most about it is the lack of creativity. (Am I sensing a pattern here?) I always keep the default name, so now I’m stuck with it.

I thought the paid outfits in the first episode were really ugly. I chose the free option because I thought it was the least ugly choice. Little did I know I would be criticized for it by every single character for the remainder of the episode. 🙄 Even now knowing that, I still wouldn’t spend my 💎💎 on outfits that ugly.

The first LI introduced, Xander, is physically beautiful. His personality… 😒 He’s definitely a red flag. Slamming MC’s face into a door isn’t a great first impression. I’ll probably end up romancing him anyway because he’s hot.

The second LI is a woman named Maria Shu. Based on her surname, I was expecting her to be Chinese. No, she’s South Asian. I don’t know if that’s an actual South Asian name…? I’m really distracted by it. Thankfully, we only see her first name most of the time. Btw, she’s beautiful and has a cute personality. I romance male characters, so I didn’t choose her romance options. It still seemed to disappoint her even though I selected “men only” as my preference. Again, that was a little disappointing.

We meet the third LI in the same scene. I can’t remember his last name, but his first name is Zane. Xander and Zane sound really similar to me. It’s almost as bad as Raina Rayne. 😝 Also, we already had a Zain in The Desert Rose. Another creativity issue… Anyway, Zane is a polished military officer. It seems he will be the male sweetheart option.

The last LI is a famed reporter named Adriana Keyword. 😬 Idk what’s up with these names! 😂Her personality reminds me of Effie White from Hunger Games. She’s privileged and people’s suffering is just background noise to her. At least, that’s the impression I got so far.

There are multiple monsters. So far we’ve seen a giant ape monster, flying creatures that look like abominations from HSR, and a giant worm monster like the ones in Dune.

The MC does a lot of running and attempts to save a little girl. But you have to pay 77 💎💎 for it. (Everything costs 77 💎💎!) She ends up in a shelter and is ultimately selected by Keyword to be her puppet. For what? We don’t know yet.

I was really excited going into this book. I love dystopian stories. I love kaiju movies. But I’m not too excited anymore. I’m not digging the outfits. None of the LIs interest me. Again, I’ll probably go for Xander purely based on his looks. I don’t like that we’re manipulated into spending our diamonds. We need 💎💎 for the ugly outfits, to start a conversation with an LI, to save innocent children, to enter the shelter… It’s very very expensive.

I really really hope things get better in the next episodes. So far this is disappointing. There better be some really good action — both against the monsters and with the LIs.

Do you have any ideas for how a live-action remake of Tangled could be good at the very least?

The only way I could see it being even remotely good is if they don't do the plot of Tangled, but the plot of the shelved version of Rapunzel that Glen Keane was working on before it got changed. The one with Bastion.

But as it is, Tangled relies too much on slapstick comedy and animal sidekicks, neither of which translate well into live action, to be any good. Attempting to include a CGI sword fighting horse will be awkward as hell, and removing Maximus and his role entirely will flatten out the story. Look at what Disney did with the mice in Cinderella.

Or every single character in The Lion King.

In an attempt to make them realistic, to fit in the live action world, they stripped them of all personality. Real chameleons aren't nearly as cute as Pascal is, and Maximus will have to either be just a normal horse or the most out-of-place character in the entire movie.

I'm also terrified that they're going to end up pander casting, like they did with Emma Watson as Belle.

This is the time to remind people that just because you have a degree in something like this doesn't mean you're any good. BACKGROUND STORY:

Diana Lune was born and raised in Willingdon, England. She had grown up on a farm with her parents and two younger siblings. A brother and a sister. She had really enjoyed her farm life with her family. She helped her father to run it, even though it was supposed to be a MAN’S job but she still wanted to assist. Seeing that her little brother was growing, she thinks it’s best for her to take care of it since she’s older.

That one night, when Diana was just on her way to check with the animals. She suddenly saw a young man, who was about her age, was devouring one of the cattle. She started to scream and called out for her father before grabbing a nearby weapon. Ready to strike. And when she was about to attack first, she noticed that this young man was looking scared when he was being discovered. He pleaded with her to spare him as he was just hungry and was trying to avoid eating any human. Diana doesn’t know if she would believe him or not. Until her father ran in with a shotgun and pointed at the young man. She saw him trembling in fear before she stopped her father and telling him to spare him. He didn't listen and was going to shoot him. That’s when her mother stepped in to stop him as she looked at the poor young man. Seeing her mother’s kind eyes, she saw her reaching out for his pale face and gently rubbed it. So she decided to keep and spare this poor fellow. Her father was against it as this choice angered him but his wife ignored him and took the young man in.

After a week or two, Diana had learned that the young man was named Antone. He was just a poor shoe boy in the city of London, trying to make some money for his poor sick father. He already explained to Diana and her family that he was attacked by some kind of creature. That’s how he got turned into this. He even knew that he’s a VAMPIRE. He fled away when one of the guards spotted him and ran into the countryside. HOPING to find somewhere safe. And he grew hungry as he tried to avoid eating people. That’s when he stumbled upon their farm. No choice but to eat one of their cattle to satisfy his hunger. Diana was amazed to see an ACTUAL vampire in her home. And she was very impressed to see him handling his hunger. So she and her family had promised to keep him safe and make sure no one knows about his whereabouts.

It has been a year that Diana’s new friend stayed with her family and that he was VERY grateful to them. Even grateful to have her keeping him company. The girl had always wondered what it’s like to have a Vampire as a friend. And because they’re friendship had grown so big. That friendship had turned into something MORE. And then, they started to fall in love. Her mother and her siblings felt so happy for them but her father hesitated a bit to hear this news. But with Diana’s reassurance to trust Antone, the father had decided to give them his blessings.

One evening, Antone had decided to go back to the London city to find his father. Diana understands and lets him go as she will wait for him here in her farm. And hearing Antone promising her in the hand of marriage once he comes back had fluttered her heart. As their lips pressed each other before his departure, she started to wait for him day after day. Until she had met some men who had come over and questioned her parents about this man who had recently passed by. Diana had a bad feeling about these men, even her father felt the same as well so he lied to them that there was no man but them who came by. And that’s when they decided to leave them be. Thinking that it’s alright now.

Until around midnight, Diana had heard something had crashed into the house. She also heard her mother screaming. Diana had darted out of her room before getting caught by one of the strange silhouette people. Pinning her down and seeing her father has been tied up and beaten down. Demanding him to tell them where this vampire is. She also saw her mother lying on the floor as she was knocked out. Her two younger siblings were crying as they tried to wake up their mother. Diana was in anger as she yelled at these people to let them go and started to tear up as they beat her father down to a pulp. She knows that her father can’t tell them and neither would she. That is when these strange people had decided to END them. Stabbing them, letting them bleed to death and setting their house on fire while leaving them to be BURNED alive. And Diana thought that this was the end. Feeling so guilty to leave her lover behind. But fate has changed for she had survived. How? Is because of Antone. He had saved her from getting burned. He also had turned her into a vampire who liked him. He also explained to her that he tried to save her family but it was too late. Diana was upset and angry to hear this but she calmed down and lived with her lover inside the city of London.

For only a year or two, Diana had lost Antone because one of the Priwen Guards had discovered his identity that one night and had killed him. It angered Diana even more that she wanted to take revenge. But she knows that there will be too many guards for her to take down. So she planned to join their little club and only killed one who had murdered her family and lover. And the rest of her story…has continued one with this journey.

y'all remember how Emma Watson said she was "self-partnered" in like, 2017, and everybody had an opinion on it. She got mocked so much. In contrast, Miley Cyrus won a Grammy this month for a song that's essentially about being self-partnered. I mean, I still know people who mock others for doing traditionally couples-exclusive things for/with themself, but there clearly has been some improvement in society overall and that's awesome to realize.

Shoutout to people who are autoromantic and people who are self-partnered or solo/autogamous for any other reason, especially those who are aro, this Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week! Hi, you mean the live-action remakes, right? Actually, yes! Read below.

Yeah, I enjoyed:

Alice in Wonderland (2010) Cinderella (2015) Beauty and the Beast (2017) Christopher Robin (2018) That's it. 1. I love Alice in Wonderland (the book, and the story in general). It's special to me. Burton's Alice is an actual, genuine sequel film supposed to take place years after the events in Alice's in Wonderland. It borrows elements from the novels Disney didn't fit in in the animated version, and it brought together creative minds who were perfect for bringing Lewis Carroll's Wonderland to life in fresh ways. I like Alice in it in particular; Alice is the only female character I will tolerate people calling a 'feminism icon' or any variant of that, and in this movie, my reasons why are on full display. I could elaborate, but that would take too long, so I won't. I love Alice in Burton's movie; she's book-accurate to a T, right down to the wild mane of hair from the original illustrations, and having her champion Wonderland and rekindle her 'muchness' was a perfect character arc for an older Alice. Again, could elaborate, again, not going to. 2. Cinderella (2015) is a national treasure and there's nothing wrong with it. Nothing. It's exactly as colorful, magical, and moral as it ought to be. The writing is exquisite, the simplicity of the theme "have courage and be kind" is so well-done, and again, perfectly cast. If you're going to remake an animated classic, this is how it's done. Take the best points of the original story and expand on it; try to make it even brighter. A++. 3. Let me be clear. Let me explain about Beauty and the Beast (2017). I would rather watch the original, animated BatB every single time. I only included this film on my list because I like snow, and I like the new songs, and I like the costumes (except Belle Watson's dress, put that zipper AWAY-) and I like Ewan McGregor, and I like Emma Thompson, and I like Dan Stevens. It's a feast for the eyeballs and the ear holes, sort of like the original (but nothing even close to the original). I won't duck my head and act like I didn't have fun with this film when it first came out, or like I wouldn't turn it on late at night if it was snowing outside and I had a fire going. In the right mood, I would. Visually appealing. Musically delightful. Everything else about it is garbage, and a waste of time. I spit upon it all. Emma Watson played a plank of wood in a dress whining about women, the Beast's character arc deserved more, Gaston should have been worse, Lefou was a joke, no. No. Ew, ew, ew.

4. Christopher Robin (2018) was an actual sequel, like Alice, and everyone should watch it. Everyone should make their favorite warm drink and go get a blanket and watch it. Again, nothing wrong with it. Absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Pooh is himself, Piglet is himself, they're all themselves. All of them. And Ewan McGregor was stellar. The theme, the execution, the pacing, genuinely a flawless love letter to everything about Winnie the Pooh, and Disney's version of Pooh, and the whole Hundred Acre Wood, including the ones we all had when we were children. Exactly what it should have been. No notes. A++. Yes! I enjoyed those. Had fun with those. None of the others.

Okay I had a lot of trouble finding the perfect actor for Percy.despite the trouble he faces he is a very brave and witty person and I really hope I could reflect it in my casting so for Percy I believe that YouTuber comedian and musician Tom Simons commonly known as Tommyinnit would make the perfect Percy.

Grover Underwood.

Grover is one of my favourite characters in the book despite his anxious nature he has been a great support to Percy and the people around him.he is one of my favourite characters which is why I cast Sabrina Carpenter as him I hope you all will understand how perfect I believe this choice will be.

Annabeth Chase.

Annabeth is a daughter of Athena she is a very intelligent ambitious and courageous person.iam struggling to find a person to cast as her iam open to suggestions but for now it’s a tie between Taylor Swift, Lea Michelle,Emma Watson Jack Dylan Grazer and Tom Holland.

Sally Jackson

Sally is personally one of my favourite characters of all time I really hope I did her justice with my casting of Philza Minecraft.like her he is a good parent to his children and since he is known as Tommyinnit internet father they will play a believable mother-son duo. Joe Keery was also a good choice since his character Steve Harrington is a motherly figure to his children/the party.

Luke Castellan

In my opinion Luke is a tragic character he is the twist antagonist of the story.he is a camp counsellor and a sword fighting trainer at the camp. If it were up to me I believe that Ariana Grande would create a very interesting and emotionally compelling portrayal of Luke.

Chiron.

Chiron is a very cool guy he’s very chill very demure which is why I would cast Jack Black as him. It may not make sense at first but it will grown on you trust me.

Mr. D

Chris Pratt is a very versatile actor he is in almost every single animated movie.i can’t explain enough about how perfect he would be as Mr D. And many other characters in the pjo cinematic universe.

Just like a small question based on that one ask, but... might the lack of brown/black men in popular M/M ships have to do with people trying really hard not to be racist so they just... never feature black/brown men? Because I know several F/F ships with brown/black women, but I can't remember a single M/M or even M/F with a black/brown male love interest... well, maybe Link/Gan or Zelda/Gan? But besides that one... nothing rings a notable bell.

Part of it is "I don't know. I just don't find them hot for some reason..."-style racism. That can shift with time and exposure but there's no instant fix even if someone is interested in changing their own tastes.

Part of it is being instantly screamed at and held to higher standards. (And yes, no matter how much people want to whine and say this isn't true, it is true, and anyone who goes ahead and writes despite the haters will tell you so.)

Part of it is fear of messing up above and beyond fear of reactions. Personally, I think this is toxic white guilt-flavor time-wasting and it's better to try and fail than not try, but it's a massive factor in what some people choose to write.

A lot of it is simply the composition of the mega-franchises that tend to generate the ships with bajillions of works. If we're looking at AO3 circles, the biggest f/f ships are not that big. If you look at m/m ships of the same size, there are some with some guy who is not white and not a pale-skinned Asian.

I don't see anything particularly significant until we get further down the listings, but there are definitely smaller fandoms like Leverage where everybody loves and ships the black guy.

I mean, yes, clearly, media does have a bias against darker skin, and the darker the skin, the bigger the bias. This bias may be exacerbated by fandom, but in a lot of cases, it just seems to be replicated at about the same level.

Hi! I said it many times that I adore your ff… but I reread your fanfic and understood that I have some questions about your Iris . We read about her through her relationship with Harry and Hermione. And you made perfect work as your Harry dad and Hermione-mommy bear are fantastic.

Unfortunately, I have lack of understanding Iris as a person, not daughter of Harry and Hermione.

But how do you imagine Iris by her own out of relations with her parents. What features of their character she has inherited? What will she be interested in? What complexes, problems will she have?

Hi, that’s very nice of you to say. I wanted her to be like her parents: loyal, kind, smart and with a dry sense of humor, but also impatient at times, stubborn and insecure. I hoped that this would come across in the first few chapters as I tried to paint a picture of her life growing up, along with other things sprinkled throughout such as her relationship with her best friend from before, her experiences of being an only child to a young single mum, some of the bullying she received for not fitting in, but that she also danced and liked to read books and be creative. 

This is the first time I’ve written from the POV of an OC. So I’m sure there’s mistakes and inconsistencies. I’ve also written about her in several “universes” if you will. I’ve tried to keep the roots of her congruent, but it’s not always easy, especially trying to imagine her at different ages, and with different experiences with when Harry comes into her life.

In Found which is the story you are asking about, I think one of her most complex problems is figuring out what it means to suddenly have another parent (and a famous one at that), especially at an age where she’s starting to become more independent and figure out who she is.

Writing an OC is one of the hardest things I’ve attempted, I’m sure I’ve gotten things wrong. I sometimes worry that she is a Mary Sue, or that she’s too flat, or unrealistic for her age. It’s probably one of the reasons I’ve stalled in writing the story. I try to tell myself it’s good practice for writing Original Work in general, which is part of why I decided to pursue the story in the first place, and why I hope to finish it, even if I don’t share it online.

As for how she looks, I don’t tend to imagine any of the characters as actors, including Harry and Hermione. Daniel Radcliff and Emma Watson are just…not it for me. I have a clear images of them all in my head, but sadly no real visuals, the closest is a picture I found a while back that shared a strong likeness to the Iris in my mind. 

Kaya’s an interesting one, I really only know her from Skins which I associate with tons of drugs, sex and teen drama haha. Although I do remember trying to copy her character’s makeup when I went out as a newly minted nineteen year old. 😳
