In this blog post, we will explore the best email services tailored specifically for seniors, focusing on simplicity, security, and ease of use.
Whether you're a tech-savvy senior or just starting your digital journey, these user-friendly platforms will help you stay connected with confidence.
The Importance of Email Communication for Seniors
Email has been a game-changer for seniors, making it easier to stay in touch with family and friends. It allows them to share life updates and photos, keeping them connected even if they’re far away.
Email also helps seniors connect with community groups, access health and wellness information, and participate in events or activities they’re interested in.
By learning how to use email effectively, seniors can feel more included and connected in today’s digital world. This helps reduce feelings of isolation and keeps them engaged with their loved ones and their community.

Selecting the right email service for seniors goes beyond just finding the easiest one to use. It involves evaluating several essential features that cater to the unique needs of older users.
First and foremost, the user interface must be straightforward, featuring large, easily clickable buttons and text that is clear and readable without straining the eyes. This helps in reducing the learning curve and makes navigation effortless for those who may not be tech-savvy.
Security is another critical factor. The ideal email service should offer robust spam filters and encryption to protect against scams and phishing attempts, which seniors are often targets of.
Accessibility is crucial; the service should be compatible with various devices, including tablets, smartphones, and computers, allowing seniors to check their emails from anywhere.
Finally, responsive customer support is vital. Seniors should have access to help when needed, whether through detailed FAQs, tutorials, or direct assistance via phone or chat. apologies if this is a dumb question and i won't be offended at all if you dont answer/dont know but since you've worked in libraries before i was curious if you knew how to let your library know you're interested in an audiobook they haven't purchased ? i know i used to be able to make requests on overdrive but since the switch to libby i haven't been able to figure it out. i hope youre having a lovely day whether you can help or not and appreciate you taking the time to read all this 💛
sorry for the late reply, i haven't been online much and just saw this! most public libraries will have a form on their website called something like "purchase request" or "suggest a title" that you can use to request things! people often think this is only for books, but most places will let you request audiobooks, DVDs, etc. librarians won't always add the things you request to the collection, and they often can't explain every decision in detail due to volume, so results may vary.
the one thing to be mindful of is that audiobook/ebook licensing can be really weird, and sometimes publishers do make it really difficult or impossible for libraries to license certain items! so if your library doesn't get something you ask for, that sucks and is disappointing, but please don't hesitate to keep sending in requests as you have them! that info is always super helpful for collections folks looking to add things to the library that they think you'll want and use!
#there's too many reasons why some purchases aren't feasible to get into every single one#but the weird one that i've seen more lately is that some resource publishers want to force readers/listeners#to subscribe to a proprietary monthly streaming or ebook service#so they make it impossible for anyone to buy access to certain items unless you're one person buying an individual subscription#deeply gross stuff imo#but yeah never feel shy about letting libraries know what you want and need!#even if they can't get that specific thing right now it helps them know what kinds of items and services you and others want#which is super useful information for them to have when requesting funding and things like that to provide those collections and services!#it can be stressful when they don't even email you a yes or no in response to your request#but you're doing a very helpful thing by letting your librarians know how they can help you!#also like. if your library doesn't have a collections webform next steps depend a lot on what type of library it is#so i didn't really want to get into that at length here#but if that's the case definitely never be afraid to ask at the desk or on the phone or via email if/how they take requests#50% of most public-facing library jobs is explaining processes/how to find things on the website#so you will not be doing anything weird or annoying by asking#anonymous#ask and receive

What site did you use to make your shop/blog?
i used squarespace but i´ve been meaning to switch because i hate how they changed things to be extremely confusing at the backend for the sake of "simplicity" (like calling the E-commerce menue "selling" and putting every tool in the "selling tools" menue
they also still only have a handful of useable ecommerce templates
#they also straight up have shit customer service#i had issues with my domain being blacklisted by security companies and all they did was send me in circles. i talked to one guy who did mo#e than just rattling off the websites help menue and he was allowed to help for one (1) email. like it´s not the fault of people working th#re to be clear it´s them not providing conditions that let their employees be helpful

Given my current position at my domestic violence agency, I'm usually the contact for folks who want to partner with us on offering workshops or classes or something.
Because we're talking about gender-based violence and trauma (and being a nonprofit in the California Bay Area omfg), I get a disproportionately high number of inquiries from a very specific type of New Age demographic who talk about healing through the Divine Feminine, human connectivity, love and light, etc etc.
And these are some of the most difficult people to try to make understand why I'm turning them down. "We're a secular agency and, by law, can't provide spiritual services." - "Oh, no, we aren't a religion, we're talking about universal truths!"
(* ̄︿ ̄)
I always remember this one guy who wanted to join us in direct service as part of his spiritual counselor training or whatever, and after hearing several red flags during his explanation for his interest in us, I asked him to explain how he understood the difference between spiritual and non-spiritual counseling. He replied, "There's a difference???"
Holy shit, my guy, yes!
It's not even about my own religious perspective, either. No, I'm not a fan of the New Age personally. But the nature of one's faith - monotheistic, polytheistic, universalist, whatever - is entirely irrelevant if you're so steeped in your worldview that you can't accept it is not, and never will be, a universally applicable one.
And that inability makes someone actively dangerous as a service provider in ANY context.
#i have a goddamn soapbox and that's service providers who are spiritually messy and fuckin dangerous because of it#hound barks#hound yells religion#that one time a tarot reader told one of my interns that her abusive partner was her twin flame#and so as a DIRECT RESULT my young intern decided to stay in the abuse#(╬▔皿▔)╯#'spiritual service providers stay in your fucking lane' challenge 2023#anyway can you guess what kind of new emails i found in my inbox when starting work today 😅

Fuck two-factor authentication, it's fucked that you literally cannot log into your accounts, even knowing the password, from another device if you don't have access to your phone

Cut for work venting / length / sleep deprived ADHD run-on sentences. Basically just using Tumblr as a journal for stress relief since I’m awake
Goddddd it’s past 3 AM on a damn Saturday and I’m trying so hard not to spend half the weekend trying figure out any response to an upset client’s most recent email other than like.
“Hon, I think you may have mistaken my polite tone and commitment to engaging with you in good faith with decency and transparency for some kind of inclination to bend over backwards if a client is not happy for any reason? But I think my colleague and I have both been pretty straightforward with you about what kind of help we can and can’t offer in this situation and Karen-ing about it at this stage isn’t going to change that, especially since we have legal obligations to your insurance company to actually charge you what they have put toward your deductible costs for this year, so instead of stamping your feet about not being happy with the cost (which I *understand* is a lot and we’re all broke and tired and it hurts, and which I fundamentally believe a just world shouldn’t place on the patient, but we live in the world and the country we live in for now and you are older than my thoroughly grown ass so we are both going to have to be adults and deal with that part) please fucking work with me here so Incan at least give you all the patience you need and the assurance that your credit won’t be affected as long as you stick to some type of payment plan or at least keep in communication with us about any issues with the plan, or it WILL become my job to send your case to a collections agency, which exists to try and get your money without giving any kind of a fuck and will ABSOLUTELY both add 20% to your already difficult to bear balance and immediately report the debt to credit agencies without batting one goddamn eyelash, and under no circumstances do I want to have to do that any more than you want me to so please help me have another choice in the matter”
Or, less charitably, “oh my god I’m so sorry, I thought you told my coworker you were upset to receive a bill for [pre-expected write off amount] because you were confused, but if you ‘already know how to read a statement and know the actual balance is [much smaller amount] and that’s what [you’re] upset about’ then you must just have been trying to intimidate the entry-level worker with the wrong number on purpose to see if you could guilt her into doing her job wrong and getting in trouble for you, my bad!” or “look, it sucks, but management is not going to view the one mistake that was made on our end as one on the scale where it would be appropriate to respond by lowering the balance significantly, like if I stuck my neck out even further than I already have for you there’s a slim chance I could get you a small courtesy write off but it’s not too damn likely and would be small enough to feel like more of a slap in the face than just saying ‘no, the balance is correct and I’m afraid it isn’t something that’s negotiable at this point’ , and since you’ve been sort of a dick to my colleague and me so far (because you seem like the kind of person who thinks it’s appropriate to throw a fit at underpaid employees until someone kisses your ass and pretends the client is always right, but unfortunately for you my instinctive reaction to rudeness is not to kiss ass, it’s ‘oh that’s how you want to play? Let’s fucking dance, then, asshole’), I’m not sure why I should waste more of my limited time and annoy my bosses for the slim chance of a small change that would still leave you furious and dissatisfied anyway”
or “I think there may be some kind of error on the alleged list of practices your surgeon gave you for the mental health clearance, because if the other practices can actually provide this evaluation at the out of pocket price point you insist were on that list, I will eat my fucking hat. Like at this point it’s cost our practice more than that much to buy the blank forms needed for your evaluation, submit them for you, and pay me personally (even at the mildly insulting rate I get paid) for the amount of work hours I’ve spent reviewing your case, talking to office management to see where I could get them to compromise for you out of the goodness o my heart, and making sure my colleague’s and my own responses to you have all had the right balance of ‘compassionate and polite but setting clear expectations for what’s realistic to be asking at this point’ and you haven’t even paid us a damn cent of it yet?”
Or “look, I owned up to the one small contributing mistake on our end in the interest of being decent and honest to you and being able to grant you SOME ground in compensation, and I really do get where you’re coming from, but in total fairness here, even the least competent member of our billing team on a bad day would have easily caught that and cleared it up for you before services took place if you had made any attempt to ask *us* (the people whose job it is to know jack shit about insurance) what it was going to cost prior to your appointment, but what you did was wait until you were already in session and then ask the guy who, I cannot stress this enough, is a wonderful person who is great at the things that are his job but has a doctorate and decades of relevant experience in *psychotherapy and psychiatric testing*, not any sort of financial field, and works for a practice where someone else handles the accounting and insurance stuff for him, so why the fuck would *he* have been able to instinctively notice that the numbers looked wrong the way we would have in the 5 seconds of your appointment time he could spare to check on them for you???????? How was asking *him*, during the appointment, ‘doing your due diligence to research the costs in advance and make an informed decision’, you absolute turnip?????”
#work vent#long post#personal#at least the office job means I can make whatever faces I want and take a few drafts to get the email right#instead of having to deal with this shit in real time where the client can see what my face is trying to do#on the other hand I would love to see her have to look me in the goddamn eye#and tell me that a single easily made non-malicious paperwork error#is worth compensating for with a write off large enough to mean the practice would lose money on her services#even before paying the actual fucking provider for several hours of highly specialized work#look right at me and pretend that is a reasonable ask that I should be able to accommodate#for fuck’s sake

Hey! When you place an order online, keep the final order page open until you get that confirmation email
If you need to close that tab, copy the content of the order info into your own email and send it to yourself.
If anything goes wrong, that info - especially the order number - is the best way to identify you placed the order. You can also reference it to check the email address you provided and the product you bought.
ESPECIALLY if you're in school and are using a school email account. School accounts can have very robust filters and protections, which means they might block that automated email with the receipt. And it's real easy to mistype your school email.
If you do email for help, please please include the email address and full name from the order. If your parent/spouse/friend bought it for you, then provide their name. If you entered a secondary email address, include that.
#customer service advice#just make sure you have a record#and be kind to the person who ends up helping you#also - please - reach out to customer service with the way you are asked to#if they only provide an email address or a form start with that and give it some time to get back#an email comes with your email address and often your name and I can find most accounts from that#if you search the website and go through the telephone tree to reach me you will need to spell everything and I don't hear that well

Top 7 Proven Techniques to Optimize Your Email Marketing Conversion Rate
Email marketing continues to be a highly effective and economical method for reaching your desired audience and generating conversions. However, with the growing influx of emails inundating people's inboxes, it is crucial to optimize your email marketing strategy to maximize your conversion rates. In this blog post, we will delve into seven tried-and-tested techniques that will assist you in optimizing your email marketing conversion rate and achieving exceptional outcomes. Let's explore these techniques to ensure that your email marketing efforts deliver the best possible results.
Craft Compelling Subject Lines to Boost Email Conversion:
Crafting compelling subject lines is a crucial technique for boosting email conversion rates. The subject line serves as the gateway to your email, capturing the attention of recipients and enticing them to open it. By creating subject lines that spark curiosity, urgency, or value, you can significantly improve open rates and engagement. Incorporating relevant keywords like "Email Conversion" not only enhances search engine visibility but also increases the likelihood of recipients taking the desired action. A well-crafted subject line sets the stage for a successful email marketing campaign and lays the foundation for higher conversion rates.
Create Engaging and Relevant Content:
Crafting engaging and relevant content is essential for optimizing email marketing conversion rates. By providing valuable and persuasive content, you can capture your audience's attention and establish a connection. Focus on delivering information that resonates with their interests, whether it's educational articles, product updates, exclusive offers, or personalized discounts. Personalization based on audience segmentation enhances the impact of your content. This tailored approach ensures you communicate the right message to the right people, increasing the likelihood of conversions. Ultimately, captivating content drives engagement and motivates subscribers to take action, maximizing the effectiveness of your email marketing campaigns.
Implement Effective Email Marketing Techniques:
Implementing effective email marketing techniques is vital for optimizing your email marketing conversion rates. These techniques involve strategic approaches to engage your audience and encourage them to take action. One such technique is segmenting your email list based on specific criteria to deliver targeted content that resonates with different audience segments. Personalization is another key technique that involves tailoring your emails to address recipients by name and deliver content that aligns with their interests and preferences. By leveraging automation tools, you can streamline and scale personalization efforts. These effective techniques enhance engagement, increase open and click-through rates, and ultimately lead to higher conversion rates. Implementing these strategies will help you maximize the impact of your email marketing campaigns and achieve better results.
Optimize Email Design and Layout for Better Email Conversion:
Optimizing email design and layout is crucial for improving email conversion rates. A visually appealing and user-friendly design enhances engagement and encourages recipients to take action. Ensure your emails are mobile-responsive, easy to navigate, and visually attractive. Implement a clean and organized layout that highlights key information and incorporates compelling visuals. By optimizing the design and layout of your emails, you create a seamless and enjoyable user experience, increasing the likelihood of conversions.
Enhance Email Deliverability with an SMTP Relay Service:
Enhancing email deliverability is essential for maximizing the success of your email marketing campaigns. By utilizing an SMTP relay service, you can improve the chances of your emails reaching the recipients' inboxes instead of being flagged as spam. An SMTP relay service offers advanced features such as IP reputation management, authentication protocols, and real-time monitoring. These features help ensure that your emails are delivered effectively and reach the intended recipients. By enhancing email deliverability, you increase the visibility and engagement of your email campaigns, ultimately boosting conversion rates.
Conduct A/B Testing to Refine Email Marketing Techniques:
Conducting A/B testing is a valuable technique for refining and optimizing your email marketing strategies. By testing different elements of your email campaigns, such as subject lines, email copy, visuals, CTAs, and sending times, you can gather data and insights to determine what resonates best with your audience. Analyzing the results of A/B tests allows you to make data-driven decisions and refine your approach. This iterative process helps improve open rates, click-through rates, and ultimately, conversion rates. By conducting A/B testing, you can continually optimize your email marketing techniques for better engagement and higher conversions.
Monitor and Analyze Performance to Optimize Email Conversion:
Monitoring and analyzing performance is crucial for optimizing email conversion rates. By closely tracking key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and unsubscribe rates, you can gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of your email campaigns. This data allows you to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions to optimize future campaigns.
