oh actually. Reading this from you is making me realize that i am *also* experiencing major demand avoidance with email? And have been for...awhile.
And also the departure of dude who has been plaguing one of my projects identifiably reduced my demand avoidance (and also overall stress levels generally).
Working theory on my end: combination of fork theory (i.e. if sustained interpersonal stress is sucking up a bunch of brain cpu, then trying to parse and respond to email is a very risky proposition. Impossible to know if i will have enough cpu to deal with email and make it go away or if it will have to sit and continue to eat cpu until i finish an existing thing and free up capacity to devote to the task the email represents)
Plus uncertainty inherent in email communications: is this a check-in? Is this a random thought? What does this person want and why? Is that my job or should i pass it off to someone else? How many people do i need to talk to and in what order before i pass it off to someone else? At which point do i give up and call them? What is an appropriate level of urgency to assign to responding to this email?
Which....now that im writing all this out like this, means i need a more functional and formalized triage process to take care of some of these questions. And i need a decision tree that i get buy-in for.
Trying to do all this with a general-purpose program is taking too many resources and thats why i keep getting stuck.
Thnks ms demeanor, for the prompt. Maybe my word-dump will help unstick your brain too.
"Every day I get emails" but not in the funny ha ha work sucks I know way more in the ADHD horror story this is legitimately causing problems for me at work way.

I bought a sex toy from this company years ago. Even after my mass purge where I unsubscribed from almost every mailing list in my inbox, I still can't bring myself to unsubscribe from Meo because all their emails are exactly like this. In fact, I'd even argue that this one is pretty tame compared to their usual stuff, and I love it.

My first project completed during The 100 Days Project! I saw this comment in a "vaguely threatening corporate speak" video and couldn't get ot out of my mind. I had to chart it out immediately.
I've decided that (other than this 😅🤞) I'm going to work on WIP from my 100 Days. Hopefully I can work through what I have laying around to make room for other new projects!
