Sprachnachricht per Mail

Ich habe bei Ebay mehrere alte Stoffscheren gekauft, weil ich seit ein paar Jahren versuche, nur noch Verbrauchsmaterial neu zu kaufen. Außerdem besitze ich durch Zufall eine große alte geschmiedete Schere, die ich sehr gern benutze. Der Neffe interessiert sich für Nähen, und mich selbst nervt es auch, in Schottland Stoff mit einer dafür sehr wenig geeigneten Billigschere mehr in Stücke zu quetschen als zu schneiden. Alte Stoffscheren sind ziemlich billig bei Ebay, ich mag solide Werkzeuge und ich denke, sie werden mit etwas Zuwendung leicht noch mal hundert Jahre halten.

Zuerst dachte ich "kann man vielleicht auseinanderschrauben und selber schleifen", dann (nach einem erfolglosen Zerlegungsversuch) "bei meiner Mutter ist einmal im Monat ein Messerschleifer auf dem Markt" und schließlich nach YouTube-Konsultation "Oh, es ist wohl doch komplizierter, als ich dachte", Stichwort Hohlschliff.

Ich maile einem Spezialisten, dessen Scherenschleifvideo ich sehr überzeugend finde, und frage, ob ich ihm drei Scheren schicken darf.

Seine Antwortmail enthält nur die Anrede und eine angehängte Datei namens Video.MOV. Es ist eine Audioaufnahme, in der er mir erklärt, wie ich die Scheren verschicken soll und mit welchen Kosten zu rechnen ist. Ich finde diesen Antwortweg erst mal absurd. Weil das bei Quicktime-Audiodateien so ist, oder vielleicht weil die Datei wirklich ein Video ist, gucke ich dabei auf einen schwarzen Handybildschirm, was sich so anfühlt, als würde der Schleifspezialist im Dunkeln mit mir reden, oder im Dunkeln eine Audioaufnahme machen. Seine Stimme ist freundlich und angenehm, er erzählt langsam vor sich hin, und nach wenigen Sekunden bin ich mit allem einverstanden. Es ist ein bisschen wie Telefonieren ohne die anstrengenden Aspekte. Sprachnachrichten per Mail also, kann man wohl machen.

It inspired my to think hard about how to use my social media, what accounts online I do not need anymore and thus delete them, getting a more secure e-mail address ... and I am still working my way through the rest of the blog series. The author also takes into account that there are people who cannot do all of the suggestions, for instance because they have to use certain internet things for work or for other reasons.
