Elves: Mythical Creatures and Real-Life Encounters
visit my blog to read in detail-
Origins of Elves in Mythology
The origins of elves can be traced back to ancient mythologies and folklore. One of the earliest references to elves can be found in Norse mythology, where they were known as "alfar." In Norse mythology, elves were seen as supernatural beings associated with nature and fertility. They were often depicted as beautiful and ethereal creatures, living in enchanted forests or hidden realms.
Elves in Literature and Pop Culture
Elves have been a popular subject in literature for centuries. From William Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novels, elves have played significant roles in many stories. In Tolkien's works, elves are portrayed as wise and noble creatures, skilled in arts and warfare. Their depiction in popular culture has influenced the modern perception of elves as graceful and mystical beings.
The Connection Between Elves and Fairies
Elves, fairies, and other magical creatures are often closely related in folklore. In fact, the line between elves and fairies has sometimes been blurred, with the two terms being used interchangeably. However, there are some key differences between elves and fairies. While fairies are often associated with nature and magic, elves are more commonly linked to forests and enchanted realms

Here's a personal piece I painted for this year's Valentine's Day, a watercolor illustration, starring my OCs Princess Brianna and the General of the Wood Elven army, Jehldis (both are from my ongoing novel project "Broken"). ♥ They're a very tragic couple and they deserve some happiness, so I really wanted to capture a sweet scene of their past, when Jehldis secretly stole the captive princess away from the confines of the castle. Brianna would always sing a little song to him when they were alone – and sometimes she’d play with his hair, adorning it with many, little braids. And even later, long after she’s gone and over 60 years have passed, he still keeps her memory alive, by always wearing a single braid. (See below to find some WIP pictures of my painting process :3)

Bel-Yathinn the Fearless ✨ Hey. Let me explain. So this is not fan art, but an NPC from our ongoing homebrew D&D campaign ("Borealis", started 2019) and this means a lot to me. I am still hesitant about posting original art on Tumblr (follow my new page though?🤭) because I don't want to be disappointed with the amount of feedback I'll get compared to fan art that I shared previously. But I know it can't be as bad as it is on tw*tter. The dead bird site is hell bent on not allowing posts from Ukrainians to go outside their Ukrainian-only bubble (thanx, Elon!), so this got barely any likes today, because it got barely any views. It won't show my work to my own foreign followers. I started this piece almost 2 years ago, spent hours upon hours rendering it, hand drawing every goddamn bit of fur on his mantle, and nobody's seen it. I have less than half the amount of followers here, but hopefully you guys will at least see it. I'm very proud of it. ✨ Bel-Yathinn (NPC) is a legendary elven military commander and an appointed ruler of a frontier town Ashen-Thalas on a recently(ish) discovered continent of Borealis. He comes from a long line of warriors, but has a secret soft side, as he dreamed to dedicate himself to art when he was young. If you like my art, consider tipping! MY TIP JARS HERE ❤️‍🩹
