---------------She was a hurricane & a woman. She was the meaning of the word tempest. & she knew that what she touched broke & what she loved blew away in the fury of the wind and rain that she carried with her. A dark cloud, a spark in the dark. Lightening & thunder announced her coming. & only she alone stood in the eye of the storm, her storm, the crash & violence of herself. & there she was unreachable, untouchable, a hurricane && a woman. â because I think there could be multiple interpretations of this descriptor
Thanks! And you are correct! And since you didn't specify, I'm going to give multiple interpretations from the three girls currently eating my brain.
â - Someone who can "Turn lemonade into lemons":
Trick: "Most would probably assume I'd say my husband for this. And I guess in some ways I get it, Tav can come across like that, but no. That man has never once let me spiral. I think...actually, my answer would be Raz. She's a dear friend, but we have wildly different ideas on what is fun (primarily her believing it to be murder...and me believing it to be not murder), and she has a rather caustic wit that can bring a room down. And she's one of the few who can genuinely tear apart and challenge my plans and ideals completely, but I appreciate that aspect...it's the only way to really solidify ideals and make the best plans in a situation."
Raz: "...yeah fair assessment."
Nox: "Oh, I'm that person absolutely. I worry about everything and I know it...but preparing for the worst possible outcome is the only way I know how to survive. What I did...what I'm doing is dangerous, it'd be pure arrogance to assume everything goes as intended. No...no I need to be ready for the worst because I know the consequences are coming. They already came once...and it wasn't something I could ever have fathomed happening...so can you really blame me for being wary?"
Ember: "Ohhhhh...you've never met my brother, have you? You wouldn't be asking me this if you have...or you didn't figure out we're related. Yeah...it's him. Dude practically brings a thunderstorm wherever he goes. Classic picture of tall, dark, and broody, and the room drops about five degrees when he enters it. I still love him, but damn could he smile more."
From here
#don't mind me#sometimes things just appear on my dash#stabby cat#time gremlin#ember of the sea and sky#trick is always on my brain#nox is my current dnd pc#an elven clock mage who uh...definitely doesn't belong to the time the campaign is in and has definitely seen some shit#and is like...probably 2 sessions away from going full chaos academic on everything#and ember is my newest character#a tiefling I may one day use in a future campaign if I ever have one#but she and her brother are also going to be my characters for a group forum rp#and also swtor toons#oc: nox#oc: ember#oc: trick#oc: raz

THE ENTIRE DRAGON AGE AMA IS A DUMPSTER FIRE
They avoided all the high-rated questions with genuine criticism (not blind hate!) and went for questions that were safer and allowed them more leeway. After that awful IGN article and that treatment of Davrin...God, just put it down. I have no faith that BioWare will be able to continue Dragon Age or Mass Effect with the respect it deserves.
Edit - They had an opportunity for genuine discussion with fans who were concerned/unhappy with the way Veilguard was -> people unhappy with the story, the marketing, the lack of 'RP' options in an RPG, etc... Instead they just doubled-down even more, avoiding those critical questions, with no real acknowledgement that fans have very reasonable problems with this game.
Some Highlights & My Initial Ramblings Below:
The Executors
"They attempt to manipulate events in the most subtle way they can manage."
So, very clear that they're not simply observers of what is happening in Thedas: they're manipulators...
"Magical Illuminati Confirmed! Lizard People Did 9:30 Dragon!!!!"
All that complexity of character -> his hatred of Orlais, his experience as a general, his relationship with Cailain, and the influence of Howe...all diminished. Any influence from a shadow cabal is too much influence - all the humanity of Loghain's choices/consequences...God, what a waste.
Not to mention what this does to other events/characters in the series -> they imply they've been intervening as far back as the magisters breaking into the golden city. I do not find this compelling! At all!
2. Solas and the Executors
Oh my god, he sounds like such a fucking Mary-Sue I'm so sick of Solas at this point -> "Actually, I know more about the Executors than anyone alive - not even the rest of the Gods know as much as me."
("I'm also, like, an Ancient Elven God, I'm responsible for the Blight and the Veil, and I kind of locked the Gods away cause they were evil - but, like, I'm really sad about it. Also the Herald of Andraste thinks I'm cute <3")
<- Previous comments: massive oversimplification, obviously
But I miss the days when not everything was about Solas. It removes so much interest and wonder in this world when the fucking egg is behind it all. I loved him as a character in DAI and now I just feel this bone deep tiredness when I see his stupid face.
Don't you dare threaten to bring Gareth David-Lloyd back -> keep him away from this mess!
3. The Fate of the Rest of the Evanuris
Yay. I'm so looking forwards to "The Return of the Elves: Electric Boogaloo 2" - it was done so well the first time!
"It was the elves all along!"
The only character with any potential to be interesting is Andruil*, but how they handled all this lore was done so shallowly and so poorly that I find it hard to give a damn anymore. Not to mention that the game literally mentions Ghilan'nain mourning Andruil - so is this a retcon/redirection/or have you confirmed that one of the most interesting members of the Evanuris' is dead?
*interesting in that she's established in lore to potentially have a tonne of really cool things attached to her (the void armour, the great weapon she has etc...). The rest of the evanuris are nowhere near as well established as she is.
4. Southern Thedas, Sociopolitical Issues, and Future Games
NOW YOU WANT TO INCORPORATE GEO-POLITCAL EXPLORATION?? You avoided any meaningful discussion like the plague in DATV but now you're acknowledging it?? OkaY. okAy.
They couldn't even give us the long-term ramifications of the mage/templar war how the hell am I supposed to believe that they will be able to pull off 'elven gods are real' etc...? For a game series that totes : your choices matter -> they have not proven that they have been able to show that in a meaningful way. They literally cleaned the slate with this game to avoid doing that.
So, what, does that mean that the Veil is never going to come down now? Or are you going to have the entirety of Thedas build themselves up again just to have the Veil fall and send things into chaos once more?
What a fatalistic, miserable outcome for Thedas -> why the fuck would anyone bother to live in Thedas if you're going to keep throwing meteorites at them? By all means, change/conflict has to happen for the series to move forwards...but this is just so miserable at this point.
(The Elder Scrolls, at least, gives people room to breathe between crisis' or sets them up in different areas of the world! Bethesda treats past installments/your decisions with greater respect than DATV does.)
Even, then, if the Veil remains up, that means that the spirits are just trapped in the Fade being miserable for the rest of existence. The entire series has been humanizing spirits, from Justice to Cole, and now they're just throwing in the towel? I guess they can stay in the fade now! Problem solved!
What do you mean the Evanuris are not a threat anymore? IN A PREVIOUS QUESTION YOU LITERALLY SAID SOME ARE STILL POTENTIALLY KICKING AROUND THE BLACK CITY?
Weakened, sure, but Solas was 'weak' in DAI. You're giving yourself an out if you decide to go back to the elves again. Please do, I'd love more content on how the elves alone fuck everything up!
5. More Southern Thedas, the Chantry, and Tevinter
Thanks for the confirmation that things in the South are so fucked up that they have to work alongside the 'Slave Capital' of the known world to rebuild!
Slavery was one of the biggest things that caused a rift between the north/south chantry system -> one of the reasons why there were exalted marches -> a uniting belief in the south is that slavery is fucked. They didn't address slavery in DATV - what hopes are there that they will do so effectively in a future game?
Don't tell me that Dorian fixes everything off screen either -> either he solves slavery off-screen or the south is being forced to work the slaver-capitol because their land is nuked and they have no ground to stand on.
I'm so thrilled.
6. Solas and the Idol / The Blight
I will never get over Solas fucking curing the Blight off-screen and no one asking questions/giving a shit. Hello?? The Hero of Ferelden would like a word with you???
So the Blight is calcified in Minrathous, at least, but everywhere further away is still fucked! Once more, the South is doomed to suffer from the long-term effects that regular blights have -> not to mention the red lyrium (which still exists according to the AMA) across the south.
I don't care; it's lame. It's a lame way to conclude the blight and I hate it. This game did not earn 'cure the blight from thedas' at all. You could have had us learn how to soothe a titan and see how that can diminish the blight but you did it this way.
Another 'magical ritual' because Solas has such a good track record with them lmao.
7. The Agents of Fen'Harel / The War with the Qun / The Crows
Turned him against the idea of being a leader???!!
Fen'harel's Call to the Elven People After the events at the Winter Palace, elves left the Inquisition under mysterious circumstances, as did elven servants across Thedas. None could say where they went, but those who believed the Inquisitor's story about Fen'Harel wondered just how large the Dread Wolf's forces were... and what the ancient elven rebel had planned. This is from the Trespasser Epilogue, Epler!
Your concept art for Joplin literally had him as a leader of a faction of elves. Just be honest that it's a retcon and you changed course - don't try to save face with this reasoning.
About the Antaam: "We needed some big mindless bad guys to fight and so we did this because we didn't want to address the Qunari War/Invasion we set up in Trespasser".
You had to canonize Sten as being alive and Arishok in order for this reasoning to work -> you didn't even come up with an alternative Arishok to take Sten's place.
Yeah, the exchange that set up the Crows we see in the game as "idealists" did not make the game. I can confirm that!
I'm sorry, "Caterina kept Illario in check?" as in, 'kept him an idealist and not the usual Crow'? The woman that beat him with a cane and starved him and his cousin to train them as Crows. Fuck off.
lmao -> tell me you're coming up with this on the spot without telling me that you're coming up with this on the spot.
8. World State Discrepancies - Isabela
Outright ignores the very real criticism about the marketing from this game and World States.
"there are absolutely places where we unintentionally suggested there was a hard canon (...that Isabela is always assumed to have joined Hawke's party.)"
Unintentional?
Excuse me, you have her talk about Merrill and the Kirkwall Crew as family - that was not unintentional in the slightest. Not to mention Sten, Blackwall, Sera, and Cole are canonized as being part of your world state no matter what.
You had a story you wanted to tell - one that only fit a few world states - and you went ahead with it and disregarded those choices. Don't try and lie about this all being a big misunderstanding.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit - They could have taken the opportunity to address the very reasonable criticisms that people had with this game but they cherry-picked questions and avoided/minimized anything remotely critical.
They could have provided us some insight into the game development time but each time they approached the topic they settled for "we're happy with what we delivered and it was well optimized."
They had an opportunity to acknowledge that people were bothered by the handling of the lore/stories (to potentially mention they could course-correct/ rethink their plans) but instead they doubled down on everything that they did and even 'justified' some decisions. They doubled down on the Executors, Solas's changing motivations, the destruction of Southern Thedas, and the elves/Solas being at the heart of everything etc...
This AMA basically confirmed that the only reason they did what they did to the south was for a reset -> It's not a compelling or fulfilling narrative to have everything we've done reset back to ground zero off-screen. BioWare games differentiate themselves from other RPG's by their import system from previous games - it was compelling and exciting! With DATV they set the expectation that BioWare can outright throw out entire games worth of choices/build up, not solely retcon them.
Justifying your choice to water down the lore/world of your story by saying you'll address it in the 'next game' does not instill me with confidence, BioWare! It doesn't explain that lack of it in this game either!
They avoided every question that, rightfully so, pointed out the misleading comments made by devs in the pre-order period of the game:
the fact that there were only 3 imported choices from previous games was leaked by a reviewer -> BioWare was vague from the start about choices
that this game was the most 'romantic' in the series
that world states/ headcanons wouldn't be disrespected
that there are 'lore' reasons for bad darkspawn design
that there are lasting, impactful choices/consequences to be made in this game
that the lore/world was not watered or toned down
that companions are deep and you can disagree with them etc...
BioWare's behavior towards their customers in the lead up period to this games release was downright scummy. I absolutely felt misled after playing the game for myself and recalling what I read in interviews put out. While EA is undoubtedly poison, you can't hold them solely accountable for this.
I feel for the individual developers who worked on this in what was undoubtedly a toxic environment from EA - but I feel that it's pretty clear that BioWare itself has a lot of problems within and in their leadership/executives. Working for EA does not give them an excuse to mislead their customers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I already had a very grim outlook on the franchise from the end of DATV but this literally look my interest out the back and sent it to God. What a disaster.
#what a dumpster fire#I thought it would be bad but not this bad#that IGN interview was awful too - how did anyone think it would help their public perception???#the lore and story has absolutely been ruined by the game#epler i will never forgive you for your godawful take on davrin - absolutely gross#does bioware's pr office hate them? is this some internal fuckery?? lmao#I'll have to edit my lore post because this makes everything worse than what I thought it was#its just such a grim way to end the series - with everything blighted and ruined#obviously don't attack devs! I'm not wishing for them to be harassed or anything - bioware as a studio is not in a good place imo#if you like it then I'm glad but this series is going in a direction that has absolutely no appeal to me :/#this game feels like it punishes me for caring about the world they created#edit - my bafflement has died down and I can add some more critical thoughts about what they could have taken this AMA opportunity to do#I've loved this series for around 12-13 years now and its just sad that its ending this way for me :(#datv spoilers#datv critical#dragon age the veilguard#bioware critical#veilguard critical

Strange question, but I feel like you are the go-to person for this. Is there any official lore to how lolthsworn drow treat transness? I imagine it would be very terf-y, like amabs arent allowed to transition into a matriarchal caste, and afabs would be disgraced for transitioning to male.
Oh gosh I love drow stuff but I don't think I would even remotely consider myself an expert on their lore, I've only read wikis and scraped the surface of the books. I might page @rukafais though!!
I know there are some trans drow characters, though the only one I can think of right now is Fel'rekt, but as a Bregan D'aerthe member he's more sworn to that than Lolth.
It has always been my personal impression, and thus what I reflect in my RP (my bg3 tav is a trans woman "lolthsworn" who started the game looking masc and as the game progressed became more her desired self), that Lolthite society is very rigid with its gender rules and bioessentialism. Their entire social structure hinges on the matriarchs and priestesses maintaining power, and there's an entire book series about how Fucked Up And Weird they get if anything happens that threatens that order (and the irony of living by such strict order while worshipping "chaos" is lost on them). Much like gender expression being a threat to fascist ideals in real life, I think they would see any kind of gender fluidity as antithetical to their ideals. If men could just suddenly call themselves women, what's stopping all the mages from doing that? What kind of message does it send if one of the matriarchs decides to become a "patriarch"? Where would "agender" fall on the power structure? No. None of that. You are whatever we guess you are based on anatomy at birth.
Additionally, Lolth's hatred of Corellon, an elven god that straddles masculine and feminine, is burning. Elves blessed by Corellon are able to change their physical gender at will; it stands to reason that a goddess determined to be their opposite would revoke such freedoms in her society. She also loves suffering snd giving her own people more reasons to feel at odds with one another.
I think there's room for nuance in individual characters, but from a baseline worldbuilding standpoint I can't imagine lolthite societies being anything but horribly misandrist and by extension against anything that loosens the definition of "man" and "woman".

Hi ! I was wondering about minerva's thoughts when recruiting zevran ?
When I make pragmatic character i struggle to justify that cause at first it seems zevran has a big incentive to try again to kill you and pretend the first attempt never happened to his superiors.
for minerva specifically, a) sheâs arrogant enough to believe that if she stopped someone once she can stop them again, b) sheâs cynical enough about some of her companionsâ more wish-washy heroic motivations that in some ways oddly she actually trusts more in zevranâs very clear and self-centred reasons for sticking with the party, and c) like (i would imagine) many elf wardens, even one as thoroughly disconnected from her culture as minerva who would not admit to this, she does have deep-seated curiosity about elven lives other than her own and an unwillingness to kill the first one she sees, given another option
you might also consider that zevran is just likeable, murdering him in cold blood after he told you everything you wanted would suck, and letting him loose with no other alternative for safety outside the crows might be even more dangerous than having him with you where you can keep an eye on him. also if your character isnât an elf, i would expect a brosca or even a circle mage to deeply commiserate with his problem of not having had another chance in life but to do the will of others, and an aeducan and perhaps a cousland to truly understand the value of having an assassin on hand
just because your character accepts zev into the party doesnât mean they have to immediately blindly trust him, after all! you can totally rp them as suspicious and watchful

NAIMERYNâS RELATIONSHIPS
*this has been expanded and added on to since the last time I posted it*
*Super* big sister protective of Bellara. Sheâs just a cute wittle cinnamon roll with a heart of gold who tries to carry the whole damn world on her back by herself, and she must be protected at all costs. Will support her to the death whatever she decides about Cyrian (Iâm not done with my first playthrough yet so I have no idea how any of this shit ends). Canât wait to read her story.
Canât put her finger on it, but Irelin bugs her. When she found out she and Bellara used to date, she accidentally started to hold a grudge about her not making Bellara happy, even though she doesnât actually have any idea why they broke up or what the relationship was like. When Taash mentioned Bellara told them Irelin didnât like how much she was into ancient Elven stuff, Naimeryn unconsciously decided Irelin Just Doesnât Get It, and Bellara deserves better anyway. Strife is okay, but intimidating. Anyone too serious, Naimeryn expects to start yelling at her at any moment. Strife fits the bill. Softens towards him a bit when he and Emmrich hit it off.
Morrigan was friends with Saimaeria. Thatâs literally all she needs to know. The rest? Just makes her cooler. Or scarier. Maybe both.
She admires Emmrich because heâs so sure of himself even amidst a group of people who grew up *very* differently than he did. She adores Manfred and would use her staff as a baseball bat against anyone who tried to hurt him, and makes a point of playing RPS with him as often as she can. She usually loses. Emmrich knew she was all right when, upon meeting her and asking her to help in the Necropolis, she approached a wisp, held out her hand to it, and gently said, âhi, little friend. Can you help us?â He is, however, immensely disappointed that as someone who faces the possibility of death so often, she hasnât thought about what she wants done with her body afterwards (she has. She lied. She didnât want to upset him with talk of the Calling, and how her body will either be lost in the Deep Roads, or sheâll survive the Darkspawn long enough to turn into a ghoul). Sheâs not sure about this whole lich thing, but if thatâs whatâs going to make him happy, sheâll support it. Luckily for him, she tends to be a good judge of what a person needs, even if they canât see it, and may just help him avoid doing (no not doing) something heâd end up regretting for literal eternityâŚ
Vorgoth creeps her out. She never knows where to look when speaking to him. What *is* he? Doesnât want to be rude but also⌠would rather talk to Myrna. Although Myrna is intimidating. So direct. So unbothered. So ethereal. She wants to be friends with Emmrichâs friends. She really does. Heâs just⌠so much more personable than they are.
Upon meeting Lucanis: Neve: âhuh. A non-mage abomination.â Naimeryn, internally: âoh no. No one told me heâs HAWT.â They are the quintessential, she fell first, he fell harder couple. He fought it as long as he could. She was doomed the moment he said âas you wishâ upon being asked to ask Spite to pull them a path out of the fade the first time in that damned Antivan accent. Started wearing lavender perfume after Lucanis described first kiss coffee as honey and lavender cream. Spite says she smells like Blight and Lavender. She initially treated Spite with cautious courtesy because she didnât want him to hurt Lucanis anymore. Lucanis describing him as a petulant child, and Emmrich telling her that âsome spirits are dangerous, but many would be surprised how that can change with just an attempt at understanding or an offer of helpâ caused her to change her attitude. Although he is a demon, and as a mage (especially with her upbringing) she should hate him, she treats Spite with the same respect and humor she does everyone. Spite likes her. Spite also picks at Lucanisâs feelings for Rook like a scab because he thinks Rook is his ticket out, which causes Lucanis to fight them more⌠until Spite drags her into his head and basically says âbitch look at her showing up for you. For us. Knock it off. Youâre being dumbâ (although his resolve was crumbling before this). If this were an AU where their story took place in our universe, Naimerynâs song for Lucanis would be âMiracleâ by Paramore. If nothing else, she absolutely does not know when to give up.
Something about Illario felt off to Naimeryn from the moment she met him, but she thought his personality just rubbed her the wrong way, or that her old fear of being used was brought up by his flirtation. His every attempt to flirt with her in front of Lucanis was therefore met with a swift diversion of attention back to Lucanis. When the truth came out, her rage was true and pure. If Lucanis left it up to her, she might kill him herself, lack of mage knife training be damned. She also, however, understands that Illario is important to Lucanis, and will not encourage that course of action unless sheâs 100,000,000 percent sure thatâs what Lucanis wants to do. Hence heâs not dead. Or locked up. (Fuck him. It was what was best for *Lucanis.*)
She loves Teia. Sheâs so cool. So sweet. So feisty. Teia *immediately* clocks both of their feelings and is captain of the ship. Teia gifts Naimy crow armor and if anyone questions her about it she just points her dagger at them and glares in âI dare you to continue this line of questioning.â Naimeryn thought Viago was surprisingly calm about Caterinaâs âdeath,â and briefly suspected he might know more than he was telling, and may never forgive herself for having such poor judgement. In all fairness, Viago will admit to not trusting her much at first, either⌠though seeing her dedication to Lucanis and her drive to help the people of Treviso brought him around. Caterina is important to Lucanis, and therefore important to her, but *damn* that woman is scary. Another one she thinks is going to just start yelling at her.
Always checks in with Jacobus. She knows he has plenty of people looking out for him, but she canât help it. She worries. She knows what itâs like to be the only one left, surrounded by people who care but⌠donât get it.
Is cautiously optimistic about Solas. âThe enemy of my enemy is my friend,â and his advice has been sound this far, but she has not forgotten how this all started in the first place. She doesnât blame him, necessarily â she believes she is at least partially to blame; as a mage, she should have known that interrupting a ritual that big could, and probably would, have unforeseen and big consequences. But also, she doesnât *not* blame him â after all, he *says* thereâs nothing worse than being wrong, and being afraid to change when itâs pointed out, and it seems like people have been trying to point it out to him for⌠a while. So like. What gives, dude?
Caretaker is baby. Threaten Caretaker at your own risk.
Every time Naimeryn falls out a window or into water or off a ledge or down an unexpected slidey slope Lucanis PANICS and throws himself after her like âMIERDA Rook wtfâ and Davrin nonchalantly rolls his eyes and walks down the stairs/slides down the ladder/makes the jump and is just like âyep thatâs my clumsy dumbass sister I have no idea how she convinced them to let her be a warden.â They are siblings in every way except literally. He teases her relentlessly. She takes none of his shit. Even though they were both reeling after Weisshaupt, she pulled him back from the survivorâs guilt edge. He never questioned her again after that. Theyâre surprisingly huggy. Lucanis is 0% threatened, as he and Davrin also have a weird sibling rivalry thing going on. Davrin finds their relationship amusing, and is not shy about teasing them both, at any opportunity. Assan is her baby as much as Davrinâs, and sheâll never let him forget it. He trusts her advice about the young griffon.
The First Warden and she never got along. When he was a recruit and she was a teenager running around Weisshaupt, he thought she got special treatment because sheâd been brought there by the Hero of Ferelden herself. When he was named First Warden and she completed her Joining, he called her a charity case, and said she didnât deserve to be a Warden. When she didnât wait for reinforcements, he claimed she didnât have the discipline to be a proper Warden. When he learned sheâd let ânew Blightâ into the world, he was ready to throw her in jail until her Calling came â until Dorian intervened. Knocking him out was a pleasure. Letting him kill the archdemon so Davrin didnât have to die? An obvious choice. Sheâs not usually one to hold a grudge, at least not on her own behalf, but the man made her life hell for fifteen years. She doesnât think he deserved what he ended up getting, though.
Has always loved Evka and Antoine, from the moment they met (literally on their way to the battle that would completely change her life). She knew of them previously, but they got more field work than she ever did, and she had always envied their relationship from afar. Never thought sheâd be lucky enough to find someone to love and be loved by like that.
She and Harding were fast friends. Has been massively supportive of Hardingâs magic, because she remembers how it felt being forced to hide and suppress her own for so many years. Harding affectionately thinks sheâs nuts for having a thing for demon boy, but has softened towards Lucanis because of it. Was the first one to tease her about it â first semi-maliciously in an attempt to get her to come to her senses, and then with good-natured resignation and support when she realized unless Lucanis did something about it, nothing was going to happen anyway. Naimerynâs encouraged her to embrace her pain and anger â itâs a part of her now, and itâs not something to reject or fear. Knowing is a heavy thing. Emmrich wondered why Naimeryn didnât accompany them to Ferelden or camping, since sheâs also from there. Harding knew better than to invite her.
Had read all of Varricâs books before she ever met him (she worked in the library, remember?). At first was Bellara-to-Neve levels of in awe of him, and grew to respect him immensely. She relies heavily on his advice. She wonders frequently if she should have tried to talk him out of talking Solas down, and if she had, if he wouldnât have gotten hurt. Whenever she visits the infirmary to see him, she gets a feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach, but tries to hide it. If the dagger affected Harding so profoundly, what damage has it done to him? All Harding did was touch it. It was IN him. She checks in on him frequently, afraid that heâs in worse shape than heâs letting on. (YALL WHO HAVE FINISHED THE GAME: I know something is going on here but I donât know WHAT and I donât want to know until I find out for myself. I got a vague spoiler that thereâs SOMETHING. I donât want an actual spoiler. Thanks in advance.)
When it comes to Neve, Naimeryn feels like she never does anything right. She admires the other mage and wants desperately to be close friends with her, but then she started their relationship getting her hurt. Then, when sheâd almost healed from the repercussions of that call, sheâd abandoned her when Neve needed her most. When Neve was understanding about her making âan impossible call,â Naimeryn only beat herself up about it more. When Neve pushed her away, she felt like she deserved it. She went to Dock Town without Neve often, trying to clean up the mess sheâd made, but asked the others not to tell Neve. She forgot that sheâd asked no such silence of Rana, or the remaining Shadow Dragons. When Neve started to let her back in, Naimeryn jumped at the chance to make her top priority, and hopefully regain her trust. Theyâre not out of the woods yet, but Neve appreciates the effort sheâs making. Also, Neve approves of Rookanis. Teiaâs first mate on the ship.
Feels responsible for the Viper, and knows Tarquin also holds her responsible. Has not seen him since she was too late to save Minrathos from the dragon. Blames herself for not being able to find Lorelei, and not getting to Hector in time, and for every Shadow Dragon hanging in the streets. At first, she would cut them down and fight the venatori that tried to stop her, but there would always be more the next time, and Neve had to step in and put a stop to it. It was the only time they fought about Naimeryn choosing Treviso â and the only time Naimeryn has ever seen Neve cry. Suspects Rana may have a thing for Neve â and why not? Sheâs Neve Gallus, dammit.
Was at first intimidated by Taash. Taash at first thought she was cute, then saw her with Lucanis and went âooooh, no. *THATâS* cute.â Naimeryn supported Taash to find themself, and to embrace the Rivaini part of themself if that was what made them happy. She defers to Taash completely on dragon missions, and when anyone tries to imply theyâre more knowledgeable than Taash about dragons. She tries to smooth interactions with Taashâs mother, though she worries she always makes it worse. Taash, on the other hand, is very appreciative, and respects Naimeryn a great deal. They also have a protective streak over Naimeryn even though they know sheâs competent in battle. Theyâve first hand witnessed her drunk, however, and just shake their head, grab her, and end the night (which is frustrating. Dammit. *They* weâre having a good time!).
Isabela is stunning, and flirty, and powerful, and WOW. Naimerynâs is in awe of her. Isabela, like Taash, thinks sheâs adorable. Also, damn, donât bet against that blue haired elf, youâll lose all your hard earned gold!

Of course, my canon Rook will be a long-haired male elven mage with silver/white hair and either lavender, golden, silver or red eyes, high cheekbones, an aquiline nose, a sharp chin and if we can be blood mages he is definitely going to be one.
Hopefully the RP lets my Rook be a grim, sardonic, edgelord kind of a character so he can irritate his more chipper, bouyant companions and develop tension between him and Lucanis who is apparently a mage-killer.
He will still flirt with everyone else for the lolz before picking out Lucanis as his romance partner since it's a tradition for me to make my player character flirt with everyone before picking out my canon romance.
I will be transfering my world state where my Dorian romanced mage Lavellan Aedanthir is the Inquisitor, along with those where my chaotic, blood-mage Red Hawke Serenity who rival-romanced Anders was the Champion of Kirkwall, and the one where my megalomaniac, blood mage Warden Surana Mathalin who became the chancellor of Ferelden and romanced Morrigan was the Hero of Ferelden.
Later on I'd make other Rooks to romance everyone else. Although I am not a huge fan of Bioware as it is, I am still going to buy the game, because it's Dragon Age.

taking a break from playing veilguard so i can eat something because i have been up since 5am staring at this screen lmao (it's 1:40pm now)
initial thoughts: i am really enjoying it so far, with only a few hiccups. i'm barely into the beginning of the game, tho.
the combat is really chaotic and i'm not that great at the block and parry timing so i keep nearly dying but just barely scraping through. i'm sure i will get better with practice! i'm playing on normal/adventurer difficulty, and as a spellblade mage.
having to hit tab to choose abilities, so it pauses the combat for the menu (like in mass effect), is both a good and bad thing. good because of the fast chaotic combat, it gives you time to breathe. bad because it's jarring and takes you out of the action. seems a hard thing to balance and i'm not sure they got it right. though it may just be because it's new in DA and unfamiliar to me right now. it has also been years since i played mass effect, so.
enemies seem to solely target rook, and not the companions at all, so there is NO breathing room outside of spamming to dash away.
neve's voice actor is... not great. lace and bellara are wonderful. not sure how i feel about rook's british fem voice. the accent seems to fluctuate between northern english, london rp, and some american inflection? it's strange.
writing seems good. i like everyone's characterisation so far. though i am an elven veil jumper and there was one point where my rook commented as if she didn't know about the elven gods, despite me in another scene earlier picking a dialogue option to claim the dalish gods as "my" gods and explain them to neve. so there's that.
also the usual dialogue wheel issue where you don't actually really know what you're going to say until you pick it because it only shows you a short summary.
the world is beautiful. the setpieces are beautiful.
the arlathan forest music sounds exactly like mass effect music, because of a specific 80's-style synth motif it uses (im no music expert so i hope those words mean what i think they mean). it's a little jarring in the fantasy game since it reminds me so hard of the futuristic scifi game.

#FA1LMAGE: a dnd / bg3 / critical role rp blog for VI'HAAN TALDERESH, the disowned son of renowned sorcerer family Talderesh
Vi'haan Talderesh (he/him, trans man, in his late 30s) is a half-elven wizard who comes from a renowned and well-respected family of sorcerers. At least, on his elven side. His human mother was a kind fighter who did not have a single magical bone in her body. His mother also died shortly after childbirth, a fact his father has not forgiven him for, even though Vi'haan did not ask to be born. Despite his own harsh feelings toward his youngest child, Vi'haan's father made sure he was well-fed and well schooled -- especially in the sorcery arts. Sadly no amount of tutoring could make up for the fact he did not inherit his family's sorcerer abilities.
Desperate to feel a sense of family amongst his two older half-siblings (same father, different mother) and to gain his father's approva, he secretly studied the art of wizardry, hoping that as long as he only cast spells both wizards and sorcerers are capable of casting that he could trick his family into thinking he was a sorcerer as well. Sadly his farce did not last long, with an ambitious maid discovering his spellbook in his bedroom and bringing it before his father, hoping for a promotion. She gained a promotion that day and he gained his father's ire.
Between his lack of magical ability and his lying, his father was beyond furious. His father gave him an ultimatum, accept his fate of not being a sorcerer and give up magic entirely (his family views both warlocks and wizards as beneath them ) and burn his spellbook before his father as a sign of goodwill, or get disowned. His spellbook was something he poured his heart and soul into, and the texts he read to study wizardry were written by wizards/mages who understood him. Much to the shock of his father and himself, he refused. Disowned and stripped of both last name and from the family tree, he no longer has ties to the family estate. All he has is a love for magic and a yearning to find new family/friends who care for him because of who he is, not who they want him to be.

â â  MUTUALS ONLY. If I want to interact with you in any way I will follow you back.. If I don't follow you back within 4 weeks it means I don't want to interact. If you continue to follow me after those 4 weeks I reserve the right to hard block you. Please note my blog is 18+ for general interactions and 21+ for romantic and/or sexually explicit rp threads
.â â  MINORS DNI. My blog contains material not suitable for minors such as fantasy typical violence/blood and sexually suggestive (or explicit) content. My blog is 18+ for general interactions and 21+ for romantic and/or sexually explicit rp threads. Minors who try to interact with me will be hard blocked.
â â  GENERAL DNI LIST.* DNI IF YOU ARE A PERSONAL BLOG/NON RP BLOG. If your rp blogs are a sideblog state it clearly in your main blog's bio or I will block you!* Harry Potter (even if you are anti-JKR. The HP fandom/RPC in general makes me uncomfortable.* If your muse(s) are for shows/books/games meant primarily for kids younger than 13 (ex: Bluey, Pokemon, Sonic the Hedgehog, pretty much any Disney cartoon, etc.)* If your muse(s) are from adult style cartoons (ex: Archer, Hazbin Hotel, Family Guy, etc.)
â â RP ETIQUETTE.
I don't support call out culture. If someone is an issue you can use the report and blocking tools. You also can handle the issue privately/without making a spectacle of it.
I'm autistic and have social anxiety. Because of this I struggle with ooc chatter and tend to prefer rp memes to get threads going (versus plotting). I'm open to plotting but need some prompts/questions to get going. Reaching out to me with question ssuch as "what sort of dynamic do you think they'd have?" or "what are some rp tropes you enjoy?" will get you a better response from me than a vague message such as "let's plot"
I have a full time job and live on a farm. I also frequently babysit my niece and nephew (both of them are under 5 years old). Because of this, my reply lengths and speed will vary. Do not follow me if this is a problem for you. Also do not follow me if you look down on people who don't always have the energy to write novella style replies and/or people who can't reply multiple times a day.
Favoritism: I do not have it. I tend to reply to short threads during the work week when I have less energy and long threads on the weekend when I have more energy. I also have friends on here who I write with a lot/have hashed out character dynamics through DMs so I write with them often. Not everything is about you and just because I take a little while to reply to you DOESN'T mean I hate to you. If you easily get jealous of other writers DNI.
I often struggle to understand social cues, especially digital social cues. I especially find soft blocking vs tumblr glitching out hard to determine. Because of this I AM NOT SOFTBLOCK FRIENDLY!!
FYI:Â I tend to block personal/non-rp blogs, minors, people who haven't interacted with me much after multiple attempts of me reaching out, people who ignore my DNI info, people who are inactive a long time without warning, blogs who have an overwhelming number of muses, people who I feel like I just don't mesh well with, etc.
â â  RULES (short version)
18+ for general interactions, 21+ for nsfw interactions (dni if you are a minor)
* I use the block button frequently. If you don't want to interact with me you're more than welcome to block me in turn.
* don't be a bigot in ANY capacity
* this is a bg3/dnd/fantasy/western/supernatural rp multimuse blog. I will follow blogs for other fandoms/genres at my own discretion and will block anyone who I think just isn't a good match for me.
* Communication is key. We are all adults here. You can DM me or ask for my discord.
* I have multiple rp blogs and am most active on asangel & mistakenmessiah

Inquisitor Lavellan of Dragon Age Inquisition. A study in good intentions gone wrong, and absolute power wearing on the mind of one who never asked to wield it. Written by Ire, 30+. carrd.
âRULES
â â RULE ONE. As I'm in my 30s, I ask that my roleplay partners be at least 21+. Nothing against younger roleplayers! I'm just old and tired. There may be NSFW content on this blog but I do prefer to move threads of that nature to Discord because Tumblr is an open concept hellscape
ââ RULE TWO. My activity is all over the place because of the work I do. Sometimes I'll be here a lot, sometimes I'll be gone a month. I ask for patience. Roleplays can be moved to Discord upon request as it's generally easier for me to reply from my phone when on the go, but brace yourself for typos. If I havenât replied for a week and am clearly around, please send a PM to remind me. Chances are that itâs drafted and I havenât gotten to it yet, or that it may have been lost, but confirmation never hurtsâ
ââ RULE THREE. This blog is multiship and does not practice exclusivity. Pirith does not have a default canon romance, and I assume any interactions with companions are platonic unless there's chemistry there. I ship chemistry over everything else! Chances are I will not send in any shippy asks unless we've got a thread going, and might struggle to answer them if they're sent in turn.
â â RULE FOUR. Communication is key. I am always happy to adjust the direction and content of a thread for my thread partner's comfort. If a generally triggering subject is to be broached within the roleplay, I ask for it to be discussed well beforehand. I can handle most anything done tastefully, I can't handle being blindsided by it.â
â â RULE FIVE. I absolutely love sending my RP partners asks. Usually in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping. These are generally non-sequitor threads I don't intend to go anywhere, but we can absolutely run with it if it inspires you! I just like to write and scenes pop into my head when I'm trying to sleep.
Likewise, I also like to doodle. You're welcome to use any doodles of your characters however you see fit.
âABOUT THE CHARACTER
name:Â inquisitor pirith lavellan pronouns:Â he/him age:Â 25 (DA:I) 37 (DA:VG) specialization: Pirith is primarily a fire-based mage who has studied the Keeper and Knight Enchanter fields. personality:Â serene, commanding, inspirational, authorative, ruthless
â Pirith Lavellan was born Dalish. Not simply by virtue of his parentage, nor the wilds in which they camped, he was born to love all that came with that lifestyle. When he began to display the Magic, his clan rejoiced - for who could be a better First to their aging Keeper than he?Â
However, when word came that there would be a summit between the Mages and Templars the Keeper grew uneasy. When the world needed an enemy to band itâs people, all too often blades turned towards the Elven. Another Holy War would destroy what precious little they had left, and so Pirith swore to go to the Conclave and discover what was transpiring behind closed doors.Â
How could he know what he would find, let alone what he would become?
his choices can be found here.

My list of muses
Aevon Addan Deith - (My OC) She is a 7 years old daughter of elven mage - Aramil.
Aramil Addan Deith - (My OC) Aramil is a powerful mage and skilled healer. He is Aevon's father.
Rosalyn Addan Deith - (My OC) a human lady, wife of Aramil, mother of Aevon.
Ciaran Addan Deith - (My OC) formely Ciaran aep Easnillien, foster son of Aramil and Rosalyn and foster brother to Aevon.
Rules:
This is an independent RP blog mainly for my OC from the Witcher franchise. Iâm open to rping outside the Witcher fandom. But I also had some other muses in other hand and I am open for writing treads with them! Iâm willing to RP with muses from another fandoms, just message me to plot!
This blog is semi-selective, meaning I will follow back if I can see a future of our muses interacting. This is nothing personal, I simply donât follow for follow.
I love OCâs, so donât hesitate to throw your muse at me!
Heavily triggering content may occur, such as: violence, abuse, murder, torture, abusive relationships. Should I forget tag something triggering, just shoot me a message
Always feel free to send an IC ask, prompted or not. If you wish to continue a meme thread, by all means, do it, I only ask you to make a new post and link the original thread.
Romance, shipping: chemistry is crucial, she isnât the easy type. This blog is multiship, each ship will happen in their own AUâs. Hate ship, friendship, familial bonds are welcomed as well, we can discuss it in private.
Iâll usually write para, sometimes multi-para, depending on the nature of our thread, but please, dont feel pressured to reply the same! I use icons in almost every thread and will format the text with , but thatâs all. I donât require fancy formatting or icons from my writing partners, you can do whatever you like.
Speed in replying does not indicate my interest in a thread. Sometimes it takes me weeks to give you a proper answer, sometimes the muse is stronger for other things. I do have a busy life (we all do, in fact), Iâm slow and my activity is spotty, thus I ask your patience.
Finally, donât hesitate to throw your ideas at me via OOC chat or Discord. Iâm also fine with simple chatting, I love talking, and I promise Iâm a nice girl. Thank you for reading this!

I was thinking about some of my old RP characters that have been dormant for quite some time. One of these characters is a bit sour for me, but I want to talk a bit about her; She is a night elf mage named Anaria Moonseeker. I no longer have anything saved about her, so I will have to rely on my (terrible) memory.
From an early age she had been interested in magic, the arcane, and more specifically the Shen'dralar. When it was time for her to find her place in Azeroth, she didnât hesitate to reach out to Mordent Evenshade who was newly accepted back into the night elven society to begin her training as an arcane mage. She devoted herself entirely to her studies, even tattooing arcane runes on her left arm. At the time her parents still lived in Teldrassil, and she had a brother who was traveling and eventually settled to work with the Guardians of Hyjal (it could have been another faction, but I donât remember).
She also had a partner who was a blood elf paladin working for the Argent Crusade. Her job with the Crusade usually kept them apart, but they always tried to make time to see each other. This is where the story ends though as myself and the paladinâs mun ended up having a falling out and eventually stopped talking altogether. I hope sheâs doing much better now than she was back then. I ended up putting Anaria aside and never looking at her again.
Anaria never came to be in the actual game. She only ever existed as WMV mockups and stories. Now a LOT has happened in Warcraft since then including the destruction of Teldrassil. I thought about having her perishing in the fires, but I have trouble killing off things I put time and energy into.
So what if she survived? The bottom image is what I would imagine she might look like - flame scarred and semi-blind in one eye but still there. I havenât thought much about her family or any more than that. I even almost hit the character create button, but I donât need another mage right now. Maybe later she will make another appearance when the time is right.
Image 1: WMV mockup by me. Image 2: Artwork by MischiArt that my RP partner commissioned. I cropped out her character for this post for privacy, but I still have the full image and am grateful she included Anaria in it despite everything. Image 3: WoW character creation screen.

There are magic officials who do the exact same thing you're asking me to do! I'd ask if you even looked into this at all, but you already said you didn't do any studying!!
Hmm, I should sell potions, But I'll need materials, You'll be my first T st subject, Give me ingredients And I'll Make something for you for free
(Sorry if this sounds creepy or anything)
Wait, a t-test subject?! There better be some consent forms or something to fill out...and you'll need the proper licenses before you just start selling potions!!
*It seems she's understandably nervous about being used as a test subject. She'll want to see some paperwork or something so she knows exactly what she's getting into.*
(ooc: the vibes this ask is giving off is like in Zelda games where the potion sellers are like: "bring me a bottle or this mushroom and I'll make you a potion for free!")

After playing Veilguard for a few days (no spoilers)
So, I do this thing with RP games. I make my 1st character however I want, do whatever I want, with zero thought as to the consequences as far as disapproval/approval goes. Just wing it. Then, as I go, I'll make characters that are more tailored, more specific play styles etc.
I currently have two Rooks and am making a third. No, I'm not kidding. I do/did the same thing with BG3. I simultaneously play multiple characters. I'll play one character for a few days and then swap over to another for a few days and back and forth and around and around until I finish them up and then start on whole new ones. Just the way my brain works.
So, when I've said in the past that I have a lot of Wardens, a lot of Hawkes, a lot of Inquisitors... I meant it. And each one has their own in-depth story, relationships, histories and futures.
Right now - I have my 1st Rook - she's just winging it, completely. She doesn't have a clue. Purple options almost always. I went with a random generated name on her because I was like ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ. Zea Laidir. Lords of Fortune elven mage. And I have to say - the fighting for mages is on point and awesome. The only thing I did that was kinda like "oops" was I made her crazy short LMAO. I didn't mean to make her quite so small but it is what it is and she's a little thing.
My second Rook - Grier Thorne. Grey Warden - dwarf - warrior. And somehow, he ended up looking like a cross between Erend from Horizon Zero Dawn and Soap from CoD. He's direct but a smartass when the need calls for it. And I can already tell he has the biggest crush on Lace (who is so incredibly huggable it isn't even funny). I'm usually a distance fighter in games so warriors always take some getting used to but I'm slowly getting there - luckily they can take a beating.
I will say that I do like how your faction choice actually does come up a lot and in real ways. Not just in passing comments. OH and - Lucanis' voice doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would which I'm so happy about because I was worried there for a bit.
But I am having so much fun with this game and I don't care what other people are saying, they're just being mean. They want Inquisition. They want DA2. They want Origins. They want all of that in a new game. They didn't actually want a new game. They can argue all they want but that's what it boils down to. If it wasn't those exact lines, those exact quests, those exact references, those exact places and look the same? They weren't going to be happy. There's no pleasing some people and that's just how it is. As the saying goes - haters gonna hate.
But for me? I'm loving it. The styling is different. The look is different. (And the heads are only big if you make them that way dipshits). But the voice acting is amazing, the story is engaging (if you aren't expecting it to be a regurgitation of the previous ones) and if you genuinely want to be engaged. If you're looking for a reason to be bored? You'll find it anywhere. I like that it's not rushed nor too slow, it gives you breaks and time to explore and pick up extra quests if you want but you don't have to. So yeah - I'm happy. (â´âĄ`â)
