He's only been in a day and it's clear that Donald Trump and his posse of tech billionaires and racists have a clear vision for America, and that vision is to turn it into the world's biggest factory and oil rig.

This man does not care for people, or the environment, or healthcare, he cares about oil and money and his own prejudices, slapping on the shallow name of patriotism as a mask for his malignance. While Canada and Mexico - the countries he alienates - help put out the fires in California he is leaving WHO and the Paris Agreement, not bothering to come to California when he wasn't president because he won't be able to take credit for its containment.

This is the man a baffling majority voted for, whose only desires are to profit his and his own buddies' business; he is not an everyman, he is not a patriot, and he is not a good person. The president is a criminal, protected by his very title from due process and justice, and the world is gonna pay for it.

Holy fuck I should delete twitter. Unfortunately, the sole reason I still use it is for Broadway news. And I have yet to find a place that matches it. I set up a Bluesky account and would happily move myself over there but nobody is using it.

Please god can there be a mass migration now? Bluesky looks exactly how Twitter used to look. And it's not run by a pathetic incel like Elon Musk.

I am doing my best to cherish what still remains of our democracy and our winter weather because five to ten years from now we might not even have these things anymore.

There's still a possibility to turn some things around, but Americans are gonna have to want things to turn around. Americans have to want to care about things like democracy, science, how the three branches of government actually work, about actual facts, about equality, etc.

Because if we don't care about these things as a collective society, then we reap what we sow.

And your children will reap what you sow.

And your children's children will reap what you sow.

Just something to think about.

As for me - as an American woman who doesn't come from a magical fancy background, I'm gonna do what I gotta do to make sure me and my cat survive these next four years and do our best to shield ourselves from any collective fallout because we're not having any of this bullshit in my home. We're just not about it. That's all.

I think Cows can scare a weaker audience by talking about killing. And I think, in some ways, it should be used as a litmus test for people who are questioning if abuse has driven them crazy. If you can understand,

I talk about this a lot with my therapist but it’s wild knowing the powers of a slap.

It’s hard to know that this conversation where you have to debate your right to exist could be over, dead and buried, if you beat your opponent. If you slapped them like their own fathers used to. Or if you showed them the truth of the world with that slap - that that slap will silence them even though they screamed it could not.

To be abused or abuse is to learn the secrets violence holds, the secrets killing holds. And it’s uncomfortable. It’s ’problematic’. It’s wrong. It’s immoral. It’s yucky.

But you still eat beef. You still benefit from cow slaughter, do you not? You still benefit from a violence unseen to you.

Imagine if we only took people behind closed doors and beat them into submission. You would never know. And you would never acknowledge that. But you would be happier, hmm?

There's no way to automatically remove the verified flag on all the accounts, they would have to have gone account-by-account to remove them individually.

So instead...THEY JUST HID THE CHECKMARK ICON!!

You can still see if an account is legacy verified by putting in the search filter:

filter:verified from:@namehere

Anyone with a legitimate verified account you search for will show up. Anyone with a this-mfer-paid-for-Twitter account won't.

accidentally* brainstormed a very complete outline for chapters 4-8 for eih, which should theoretically take us through Part 1. which is. you know. a godsend or whatever.

*accidentally meaning i was just eating delicious pancakes and the thoughts happened. usually its me crying screaming and shitting myself in front of an empty word document where ideas manifest. this is notably much more pleasant.
