"Issue #30: Time Is a Circle"

The story that Cypressfoot talks about in this issue is a reference to Issue 2, where she doesn't get very far into it except saying RoseClan's name for the first time. What she does end up telling is an expanded version of Nightberry's story from Issue 7, with more details and specific character names. And yes, it does indeed confirm that Longest-Claws and an early form of his predator gang were the ones who destroyed the original lost Clans.

In the first panel on the 3rd page, I included a couple cameos of other comicker's characters. They belong to thegreatmaddu, Giogeth, Songdogx, and StarrySwirly.

If you aren't familiar with the seasonal antler cycle and are very confused by why Deepdark is covered in blood goop, he's in the process of shedding! During the summer months, while deer grow their antlers, they're covered with a fuzzy substance called velvet. This fuzz is in fact full of veins and tissue, so in mid-fall when the antlers begin to shed, they can appear very bloody as the velvet falls off, leaving those familiar, calcified pointy antlers behind.

Next issue is a big one.

archstars scar is super unique! what caused it?

This won’t be told in the comic, so.

Right after he became leader he was challenged about his choice of deputy ( his son who hadn’t had an apprentice) and it became a fight. She had her paw on his face and dragged it down leaving a deep wound and eventually scar behind

The cat who challenged him, Elkstripe, is still in the clan but she has a scar around the front of her neck. She may show up but who knows!

Cypressfoot mentions her father having a large scar from the fire that drove Barrenclan back to its original territory, is she Darksnow's kit? Or was it just a coincidence

Oh man, that actually would have been a phenomenal way to connect the characters, but it was just a coincidence. Cypressfoot's dad is named Elkstripe, I've made a few posts about him before. The reason I never thought of it is because Darksnow is a very old OC of mine and he's always had that scar, I just adapted him into this comic as a fun personal cameo.

Seeing that Cypress is the only one with insider knowledge of what RoseClan/StarClan was. It makes me wonder how old her father was when the old clans got wiped out.

Yes, I can definitely see that! It's describing a very prairie-like environment after all... this seems like it'd be about RoseClan and BarrenClan, like a song from Wheatstar or Elkstripe's perspective.

Do either Elkstripe or Jackalope have designs?

No, and I probably won't make any; just cause I have a lot of things to do and better ways to spend my time, like working on actual issues themselves.

If you want a general idea what they looked like, Elkstripe was a red and brown tabby with yellow eyes and Jackalope was a chocolate calico with green eyes.

I've been here since week 1 so I still remember the early theory that Cypressfoot's father Elkstripe was a shapeshifter and he became Deepdark. Now I know that one was horribly wrong, but I still have a wild theory that Rainhaze is a shapeshifter that became a deer. The Defiance saw his potential and recruited him. Rainhaze having antlers above his head in that one issue is my only evidence aside from the fact that we didn't see Rainhaze rip open that fox on screen and I think it was too brutal to be done by cat claws, so maybe it was done by antlers.

Or Rainhaze is a wendigo and ate Dustfeather. Either or. She was horribly starved at death so Rainhaze must've been the same...

Don't call me crazy I'm not okay and you're not okay we're all in Rainhaze Hell together.

Oh yes! I know your profile picture well. The people who send me consistent un-anon asks, I recognize you. I like the new and improved Rainhaze theory.

Is Deepdark menacingly standing just out of sight in this scenario?

I hate to break it to you but a snail could not really hold up against a 140 pound deer. Or a 10 pound cat, for that matter. So no. No bugs. They can't talk to vertebrates anyways.

Bio: Cypressfoot is the oldest living cat in BarrenClan. She is sweet and grandmotherly, and dotes on her mate Nightberry and her kits. She has a sharp wit, but it has been dulled somewhat by old age, and her memories seem to get mixed up sometimes. 

Cypressfoot’s father was alive when the disaster came.

jackalope info?

Ah, that's Cypressfoot's mother. She was from outside the Clans, and she and Elkstripe (Cypressfoot's dad) met while RoseClan was hiding out in a forest near the other Clans. (You can watch my original video for context on this, or I guess, wait like 4 months for it to appear in-comic)

Jackalope was a tough, strong lady who chose not to take a warrior name although she stayed with BarrenClan. She was devastated by the destruction of the territories, but persevered and ended up becoming the deputy of the Clan, until she died when Cypressfoot was a middle-aged warrior from illness brought on by dehydration.

HA like Cypressfoot's dad Elkstripe? Don't tempt me to include shapeshifting in this story, now, because I'd totally do it and it would wreck all my plans.

If none of the current cats are from rose clan (like you said in the clangen vid) then how does anyone know about roseclan?

Like Cypressfoot said in Issue #2, her father was born and raised in RoseClan before the "destruction" came, and he told her the story when she was young.
