Verbanden & Geesten

Chapters 1 & 2 of Verbanden & Geesten, the 11 story in the Kanej Wensen series, are now up on A03.

This title, Ties & Ghosts, is quite literal as well as metaphorical. I went into some interesting challenges with this story. There's no smut, but plenty of action, emotion, and exploration. I even did my first Wylan POV, plus you get another OC POV. Chapter 3 comes tomorrow, after I comb through it one last time. It was the hardest chapter to produce, and one of the pieces that wrung every last emotion out of me while writing it. I sincerely hope my readers will relish seeing Kaz spend time at his family's farm after nearly a decade.

Summary for V&B:

Kaz deals with waiting for Inej to return, gang politics with the Razorgulls, redecorating his bedroom, getting a tattoo, and a visit to his childhood home. Jesper and Wylan visit the Slat, meet Krai, and help Kaz out with some gang politics, among other things.

Chapter 3 is now up.

Not lying, or boasting, but every time I read/edit this chapter, I give myself chills. Kaz facing his past is... yeah. I put some light moments in so it isn't an all out slog, but please have tissues or a comfort item handy.

Chapter summary: Morten Kyler prepares the farmhouse for a visit from the enigmatic Mister Rietveld. Kaz visits his childhood home for an inspection, and deals with the ghosts of his past. CW for a lot of traumatic memories, mental voices, visceral discussion of death, and processing grief.
