Just had a horrible horrible HORRIBLE idea :D

Also contains spoilers for characters that will make you feel.

So if you’ve somehow managed to deal with my blog for long enough to see my art then you know about Basil.

Basil is a tiny (5’0 if you round up) Italian woman who moved to America as a transfer student after meeting her future Fiancée Lily.

Now Basil works as a reporter who works with the local newspaper, because of how eccentric Basil is she is one of the newspapers (and local news broadcast), favorite reporter to send out because whenever you see a 4ft tall brightly dressed woman who’s cheerfully waiving at you, it’s hard to ignore her.

In the original timeline Basil dies. Wont go into too much detail (as it was graphic), but Basil goes from one whole little Italian woman, to one empty little Italian woman.

Now in the recently created alternative timeline, Lily Rafters (Fiancée) dies instead. Lily’s death was perfectly crafted to mirror both Basils and Henry’s (Basils ‘adopted’ son in this timeline)

Basil got stuffed into a partially blind frog, who after a pair of swimming goggles gets a foggy view on what’s going on. While Lily gets stuffed into a mute sheep covered in goop. Element, faces more struggles than Patty dose as Lily while alive dehumanized the Dreamworld animatronics. So when she died and turned into one… it wasn’t a good transition. [Neither was Basil’s, but Basil had never shocked any of the animatronics. Or treated them more cruelly than protocol demanded. She was never afraid of them. Unlike Lily.]

Now time to unveil my horrible idea!

I feel like I desperately need to talk about the Minecraft Movie right now. Here are my points.

I was absolutely astonished to see the overworld at that first glance until the live action humans appeared which kinda sucked the hopes and dreams right out of me.

WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT SHEEP!?!? I mean, I see everyone hating on the CGI work but to be honest it's still much better than it was like 20 years ago. It's not as bad as ugly sonic at least but still.

One thing that deeply concerns me are the villagers. Are they gonna be blocky or live action? Can they speak English or just say 'Hrmm' for everything?? The only thing that can make the villagers likeable for me is if they were all voiced by the guy who voices them on Element Animation.

What did that guy craft and how????? All I saw was a scrambled mess of iron and cobblestone and it turned into two bucket attached with a chain!? THATS NOT HOW CRAFTING WORKS!!!

I honestly dig the piglins. They remind me of the bokoblins from Zelda which is cool.

"I... am Steve." *Holds a gun to Jack Black.* NO YOU AINT!!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY POOKIE BEAR!?!?!?!? Seriously, they could have cut his hair and beard shorter or SOMETHING to fix this.

If Technoblade isn't mentioned in this movie, I'm sueing Mojang.

All I want to see is an enderman and an axolotl. I love endermen so much.

Thats about it. I am kinda excited to see it with my friends though.

Which, makes sense, this was more a prologue after all.

So the main storyline could happen in a world where idk the flame king controls certain areas and idk the water one another...

Or just where the few surviving Steves live understand.

I mean curiosity killed the cat... If that somehow was the case.

Well, I think a trip outside won't hurt... :)

Anyway this is an "if" situation so nah, probably not happening... But imma write it down for my own little thing.

Anyway.

I'm just bracing myself for the angst to come.

The entire point of a sabbatical is to rest and it is difficult to accomplish that if the sources of approximately 92.367% of the chaos follow you home. And yes that is a very specific number. Mumbo is aware. He would very much like it to be less specific.

if i was going to make a video game i would make a "cozy"/farm sim/stardew-esque type game but it starts with the player character waking up in the woods ala rip van winkle. they stumble into town and everything is decrepit and overgrown and falling apart. there are occasional ghosts. the world ended while you were asleep. you have to scavenge food and supplies from the town, and eventually learn to grow/trap/gather/build new stuff. find out how ghosts died and/or complete their last requests to put them to rest. find weird mutated creatures and strange objects in the woods. build a thing. you can die through mishap if you don't take care of yourself with water/shelter/food. you die anyway eventually, with the intention that you can't find all the secrets or complete all the quests in a single playthrough. if you want to see everything you have to do it over and again and choose what to prioritize.

I'm so glad my friends are (mostly) not book lovers bc holy shit I hate she who became the sun so much and if I was surrounded by people who love it I would not be able to talk to them until they got over the hype. I only liked abt half of it and I would explain my feelings but I don't feel like doing that rn.

Tldr though: I didn't think it was feminist at all and going in thinking it was a feminist piece of literature made it a bad read for me. I liked how the author explored another gender class through the eunuchs though. Should've contested the other main character's misogyny & toxic masculinity (maybe that's not the right term here but idgaf this is just a tumblr post) though (can't remember their name bc i read it so long ago. The monk)
