Why is this happening? We had a great time last night working on the Roadster lights with the @mandlabs_inc kit but this kind of stumped us... When inserting a new LED in a parallel circuit built on the breadboard some of the LEDs would simply turn all others off. I suspect the voltage these LEDs use is lower and this causes the voltage to drop... maybe? But this is a parallel circuit so technically this shouldn't happen. Right? BTW, all out LEDs are mixed so we really don't know the voltage and couldn't find the voltmeter anywhere... #steameducation Building and creating! #treydon has always loved to “tinker”. At 18 months old we bought him his own tools - real tools… This Christmas we bought a whole stack of robotics kits. And #Talin got this bubble machine to build - we figured Treydon could help him build it. They built it today. It’s great - they got to tinker with the tools, learnt about circuits and how to put batteries in, following instructions, testing the build and then playing!!!! For some reason Treydon felt he needed to eat the bubbles and we had a slo-mo collision. As a battery discharges, not only does it diminish its internal store of energy, but its internal resistance also increases (as the electrolyte becomes less and less conductive), and its open-circuit cell voltage decreases (as the chemicals become more and more dilute). The most deceptive change that a discharging battery exhibits is increased resistance. The best check for a battery's condition is a voltage measurement under load, while the battery is supplying a substantial current through a circuit. Otherwise, a simple voltmeter check across the terminals may falsely indicate a healthy battery (adequate voltage) even though the internal resistance has increased considerably
