Now on with the first-generation Olympians (it's gonna be a long ride, so strap on!)

Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon were swallowed when they were young kids/nearing adolescence, not newborn babies. I want Kronos and Rhea's family to have some years of happiness together before the prophecy ruin them all.

Out of the Big Six, Demeter and Hades look the most alike to Kronos (unrelated note: Persephone looks the most alike to Kronos out of the 2nd gen)

Demeter is Kronos' favorite child because she shares his power over agriculture. Kronos has even planned her future to be his successor as goddess of the harvest.

Poseidon has the fear of dark, closed places due to his trauma of being locked in Kronos' stomach. During his first centuries ruling the ocean, he cannot stay in his kingdom at night because the realm gets extremely dark and it paranoid him. Poseidon can't go to the deep trenches either.

To cope with his fear, Poseidon's bedroom is filled with bioluminescent algae and jellyfish.

After escaping Kronos' stomach, Hera was sent to take refuge at Oceanus and Tethys' place. Around this time, she became besties with Amphitrite (I see Amphi as a daughter of Nereus but she is close with the other sea deities too)

Thetis and Hera's friendship is underrated. Hera, Thetis, and Amphitrite have occasional girl's nights where they ditch their spouses to spend time together.

As besties Hera and Amphitrite share the same taste in men *looking at Zeus and Poseidon*

Hera and Amphitrite were not happy when Zeus married off Thetis. Oh boy, there were a lot of screaming and fighting for Thetis' behalf.

It was very surprising when Thetis later made her husband Peleus immortal (there is a version of that lol)

Zeus and Poseidon created the electric eel and other aquatic animals that produce electricity. The purpose? Ask them.

When Hebe was training to become the cupbearer of the gods, Zeus watched over her and gave her tips from time to time. He used to be the cupbearer of Kronos, too.

I am seriously contemplating on whether Poseidon have a thing for Odysseus or not. Like in "I want to fuck you up both ways".

Hades doesn't outright ban the others from coming to the Underworld. The reason he doesn't like them visiting often is because some will ask (read: screaming and crying at) him to resurrect their favorite mortals.

Hades adopted Cerberus some times after Typhon (Cerberus' bio father) was defeated and the doggo had nowhere to go. From then on Cerberus was living in luxury in the Underworld with the only job is to guard the door.

Hades has a messed up sense of humor after centuries of dealing with the dead, and Persephone got infected as well. If you ask Hades "Can you give me a hand?" he will give you an actual hand.

Hades x Persephone x Minthe OT3 is real.

Hades isn't some gloomy dark man. Yeah, he wears black a lot but also with gleaming gems and fine jewelries (you know, god of precious minerals and all).

The three kings didn't draw lots to determine who will rule which realm. During the Titanomachy, they grew fond over their future kingdom and showed hints of belonging to them.

Poseidon's first hint of becoming King of the Sea is that he makes lots of sea puns. Like, a lot.

They also don't have total rule over their kingdoms. Their authority is above all but still under the Primordials of their respective realms (Zeus is under Nyx, Poseidon under Pontus, Hades under Tartarus). Every time they make major changes in their kingdom, they have to consult the Primordials first.

Demeter isn't officially crowned ruler of the Mortal Realm but they all know she is in charge of the whole place.

Even though the Big Six preside over lots of domains, they don't always tend to each one themselves but have lesser deities like dryads, naiads, nepheles, etc. to assist them while they act like the head directors.

The marriages of the three kings and queens are more about political power than love. It's not that they don't have some feelings for each other though.

When they were young and Zeus is courting Hera, he once put on a peacock tail to woo her.

Demeter is married to Leto and they raised Persephone, Artemis, and Apollo together. I don't take objection.

All of the second-generation Olympians were taken care of by Hestia at least one time.

Do not mistake Hestia's dislike of violence for her incapability of inflicting violence. She can cause more damage than your mental health is prepare for.

Hestia doesn't yell or hit others, but disappointing her is the biggest crime.

Demeter makes the best vegetable dishes, roasts, soups, anything. Kids love veggies because of her. She can make you love broccoli with one meal.

Headacanon but also true myth: Demeter adopted and raised lots of kids on her own. Many of them later became her companions or spread the agricultural knowledge they learned from her to humanity. They all love mama Demeter.

Hera treats her daughters better than her sons, but it's because she is learning from her mistakes in bringing up Ares and Hephaestus. She isn't the best but she is trying everyday.

Zeus doesn't hate Ares, but what he reflects. Ares is a raw reminder of a darker side of Zeus that he'd rather pretend doesn't exist.

I've made this joke before but it's still relevant: The only thing more complicated than advance mathematics is Zeus and Hera's relationship with Ares.

Zeus' favorite children are Athena and Apollo, obviously. His least favorite (as in he doesn't care enough compared to others) are Ares and Persephone.

Iris and Chloris/Flora are not straight because of Hera, but they know they won't have any chances with her.

Zeus' first lover is Aëtos, an earth-born man who was his childhood friend when he lives in Crete.

In the modern world, the lock screen of Hera's phone has the picture of her family being happy together. And her home screen is the pic of Zeus in a Pikachu onesie.

RO's Pokémon Teams (Expanded)

Reverse ask. I will now infodump about what each pokémon teams the ROs would have. I know you answered it similarly before, but I want to do this in-depth. For additional flavor I gave everyone a pokémon that evolves by trade, which would happen in game as them trading it with MC, and a route specific pokémon.

Their starter is a shiny Meowth/Persian, since it can use its payday move to generate free money, plus it was a pokémon heavily associated with the main crime organization in the anime (Team Rocket and Giovanni). R’s luck manifested by giving them a shiny, shame it is one of the worst shinies available…

Next up: Super Luck Absol, a pokémon that can sense natural disasters and tries to warn others, and is seen as a doom-bringer as a result. Reclamation R uses it to intimidate their opponents, joking that they are *both* doom-bringers. Rebellion R is much more critical of the rumors and laments their inability to stop the disasters.

Third is Murkrow. Its signature ability is Super Luck, BUT R’s would have Prankster (an ability it loses upon evolving). Prankster!Murkrow works well as a setter in competitive, which means it sets up buffs and debuffs. Reclamation R teaches it Perish Song.

Fourth is Togekiss with Serene Grace. R has been raising it since it was an egg and is very happy to abuse its ability to make their opponents flinch (essentially lose a turn).

Number five is the trade pokémon. R has a Feebas, an ugly little fish that evolves into the regal Milotic. They hardly use it and regret being unable to find anyone they trust enough to trade it back. They eventually trade it with MC as “something to remember them by” and claim Milotic looks better on MC’s team anyway.

Sixth and final pokémon on their team is route specific, although both are rock types due to R’s interest in rocks. Rebellion R gets Sableye, a pokémon that lives a quiet life in caves and eats crystals, the rumors about Sableye stealing souls would synergize well with R being framed for a crime they didn’t commit. Reclamation R would get Glimmora, a pretty flower made out of crystals… of course, said crystals are made out of poison, but R would never use them for evil, how could you even think otherwise?

For a starter, E got Pawmot. Electric/Fighting pika-clone that evolves from Pawmo after walking 1000 steps alongside its trainer. This one is the most spoiled little thing.

Following that, E has a Fidough, their beloved puppy that helps them with cooking. It evolves into Dachsbun after E gets more confidence. Also, it has the Well-Baked Body ability (P hates it. Dachsbun is resistant or immune to almost everything on their team).

Third one is a Bewear, a big and fluffy friend that is ridiculously strong, to the point of accidentally killing its friends with bone-shattering hugs. Fitting with E’s power.

Fourth in line is Hitmonlee. Fighting type with a focus on legs. Fast boy. E goes on runs with it.

Their trade pokémon is a Swirlix. A cutie-patootie fairy goofball of a pokémon that they eventually trade with MC so that it can evolve and grow stronger. E keeps whatever pokémon MC trades them as a reminder to be strong.

Finally, their route specific puppies. Good Influence E gets a Boltund, a good doggie that can run for three days straight, easily break 50 mhp at top speed, and zap its enemies with electricity. Bad Influence E gets a Houndoom, a bad doggo that can give someone eternal, burning pain and chooses its leader via combat.

Their starter is an Inteleon with the Sniper ability, they have been together since before V was made a soldier. To quote the dex entry: “Its nictitating membranes let it pick out foes’ weak points so it can precisely blast them with water that shoots from its fingertips at Mach 3.” This pokémon has finger guns, V has a real gun, they are perfect.

Second is a well-trained Rockruff puppy that evolves differently depending on what route V is on. Civilian V gets midday Lycanroc, an extremely loyal pup with a calm demeanor, representing V healing from the trauma and learning how to form bonds. Soldier V gets midnight Lycanroc, who will happily sustain injuries for the sake of taking down its opponent, V’s just a soldier and their life belongs to their commander, why should their pokémon be any different?

Hatterene takes number three. This pokémon’s evolutionary line HATES strong emotions, so no wonder one of them would like having a trainer as emotionless as V.

Frosmoth is next for two reasons. First, I wanted V to have an ice type since they grew up in a cold region. Second, Frosmoth is a friendship evolution and it signalizes that V is not fully emotionless.

Their trade pokémon is none other than Pumpkaboo. Its dex entry mentions that Pumpkaboo are said to be the product of areas where lost souls lingered, so odds are V has seen their fair share of Pumpkaboo and had plenty of opportunities to catch one. This trade happens fairly late in V’s path and comes with V realizing that Pumpkaboo wants to be with MC, signaling that V is becoming more aware of other people’s emotions.

Lastly, V’s route specific pokémon are either a therapy dog or the brutal pokémon. Stoutland, a dog that can keep someone warm overnight in the wintry mountains, is taken in by Civilian V, being a friendly pokémon known for rescuing people, it seems fitting that Civilian V would end up with one for support. Soldier V catches Hydreigon, a pseudo-legendary with destruction as its main goal, the perfect weapon for a soldier.

Espeon is their starter. Little L was given an Eevee to keep them company, Little L got attached, and now L can be seen with an Espeon curled up on their lap while they read.

Second one is Luvdisc, because it is heart-shaped and L is a romantic.

Third down is Xatu, a pokémon that can see both the past and future. Fitting with L’s power. Also, bird!

Pidove is on their team and nobody can convince me otherwise. L, nerd that they are, struggling to dumb down their words so that their cutesy widdle pigeon buddy can understand. Pidove is friendly and sincere, and evolves into the intelligent and proud Unfezant. L wants to evolve it, but this process takes way longer than it should thanks to Pidove being their weakest pokémon and hardly seeing any combat until later in the story.

Kadabra is their trade pokémon. They spent a long time planning how they’d ask a possible future friend to trade with them so that their Kadabra could finally evolve. They end up shyly asking MC if they’d be up for a trade so that “they’d never be fully apart” due to having each other’s pokémon.

Time for their route exclusive pokémon, both psychic. Peace L gets Gardevoir, a pokémon that can see the future and is ready to summon a black whole to protect its trainer, everyone is lucky L keeps it under control. Resolve L gets Metagross, a pokémon with four brains and smart enough to rival a supercomputer, everyone better pray L doesn’t Mega Evolve it since its dex entries state, “Mega Evolution stimulated its brain. It emerged as a ruthless Pokémon that will clutch at any means of ensuring its victories.” and “When it knows it can’t win, it digs the claws on its legs into its opponent and starts the countdown to a big explosion.” Yikes.

Raven:

Their starter, Banette, is a doll that became a pokémon over its grudge of being thrown away. Sounds familiar? Raven found it roaming at night during their first week on the streets and the two have been together since.

Next up, Trubbish/Garbodor, a friend that Raven made years ago when they frequented the same dumpsters. Yes, it is sentient, poisonous garbage. Yes, Raven will cuddle it.

Bisharp takes third for being very sharp and stabby. Insanity Raven goes through the work of evolving it into Kingambit. Therapy Raven keeps it a Bisharp.

Number four is Doublade. Why have one stabby sword when they can have two? Insanity Raven keeps Doublade that way, happy to watch the twin blades slash foes to ribbons. Therapy Raven evolves it into Aegislash, deciding that more defense is worth slightly less stabbing.

Their trade pokémon is Haunter. Raven raised it fully planning on trading with MC. This pokémon is almost as clingy towards MC as Raven. Keeping up with both of them is an exercise in patience.

And finally their route specific pokémon. Insanity Raven gets Spiritomb, 108 spirits trapped into a stone as punishment for their misdeeds, with Raven often making cryptic comments about “making” a new Spiritomb. Therapy Raven, for their part, gets a Maushold to remind them of their goal to have their own family with MC.

S’s starter is Sandaconda. Ground types are common in the desert and its Sand Spit ability turns out to be way more viable when their opponents aren’t used to dealing with sandstorms.

Revavroom is a must for S. A motor pokémon that canonically gets used to power up vehicles? S has built a dozen starmobiles for their Revavroom.

Cyclizar looks like a bike, of course S would have one. It is their main ride when Sandrider is not available. S makes it wear Safety Goggles to protect it from sandstorms.

Their fourth pokémon is Vanillite, because ice cream jokes. S only got it after coming to the academy, which is why it is not evolved and low level. It grows into a Vanilluxe eventually.

For their trade pokémon, S has a Rhydon. They did not originally plan to trade it, nor where they interested in evolving it further. MC is the one to suggest a trade and S ends up deciding that Rhydon is the one they should trade away.

Now, both of their path exclusive pokémon are pseudo-legendaries, because S deserves it. Speed Devil S goes for Garchomp, a land shark capable of going at speeds equal to a jet fighter plane, the perfect Ground-type for a speed devil. Troublemaker S, for their part, gets Tyranitar, an insolent mobile disaster and their best partner in crime after MC.

P’s starter is obviously Blaziken. Fire/Fighting, solid ability in Speed Boost, and an overall solid starter choice. P has trained it since it was a Torchic, maxing out its speed and attack stats.

P gets Ninetales to match with their twin. P caught it as a Vulpix and was very quick to evolve it via Fire Stone.

To represent P’s interest in cooking, they get Garganacl, the rock salt pokémon. Its Purifying Salt ability makes it immune to status conditions, while its signature move, Salt Cure, helps ensure its opponent will not last long on the battlefield. P doesn’t use it much, not being used to its typing, so Garganacl often comes as a surprise to their opponents.

Annihilape takes fourth. A pokémon that got so angry that it died and came back angrier. P and their Annihilape act so similar, it is funny. Rage buddies refuse to chill until they kill one (1) shitty dad.

Their trade pokémon is Gurdurr. They insist they hate it and only traded it with MC to get rid of the damn thing. It has maxed out affection. Regardless of what MC trades back, P will act underwhelmed and mentions it will takes ages to train it up to their standards.

Path exclusive time, with two sword-themed pokémon to distance P from their father’s spears. Competition P has Ceruledge, representing their growing resentment, its dex entries state, “The fiery blades on its arms burn fiercely with the lingering resentment of a sword wielder who fell before accomplishing their goal.” and “An old set of armor steeped in grudges caused this Pokémon’s evolution. Ceruledge cuts its enemies to pieces without mercy.”. Cooperation P gets Scrappy Sirfetch’d, a chivalrous knight with a versatile movepool, which can make it a viable choice in both double and single battles.

Spheal is M’s lovable starter. Their father was hoping M would dominate the battlefield with Walrein, but Spheal has refused to evolve so far. It stays small and cute on Alt M’s path. It finally evolves all the way into Walrein in Maso M’s path.

M gets Alolan Ninetales to match with their twin. They didn’t catch it and instead got it as a gift (from a relative? a suitor? who knows). Took ages for them to evolve it, even though they could have easily gotten an Ice Stone.

Their Komala is next, a pokémon that stays asleep its entire life. They are nap buddies.

Their trade pokémon is Dusclops. It evolves when traded while holding a Reaper Cloth, a nod to M’s planned use of scythes.

Path exclusives are both bangers. Maso M gets Baxcalibur, a pseudo-legendary Ice/Dragon; its signature ability, Thermal Exchange, boosts its attack when it is hit by a Fire-type move, which parallels Maso M needing to be hurt to be at their most effective. Alt M, for their part, nets Slaking, a ridiculously strong pokémon with attack and HP on par with legendaries, but held back by its Truant ability that forces it to only act every other turn; this matches M’s own strength being held back by their sleepiness and forces them to plan around it.

Their starter pokémon is Serperior, a Grass-type that can stop its opponents’ movements with just a glare from its noble eyes. A smug grass snake for the smug forest royal.

Scolipede takes second. F likes to harvest its deadly poison to use in assassinations. It is a soft baby when it comes to F, though, happy to curl up at their feet while they are working.

Third is Drapion. It produces potent poison yet prefers using its physical strength to overpower foes. F’s loyal bodyguard that uses its force to intimidate anyone who might pose a threat to their trainer.

Next up is Parasect. Parastic mushrooms that take control over their host until it is nothing but an empty shell with nothing more to take. F loves their fungus zombie.

Their trade pokémon is Phantump. A child who died while lost in the forest and possessed a stump. F caught it during a rare moment of pity, they trade it with MC, claiming they got tired of babysitting. They will occasionally mention missing their Phantump, only to immediately scoff and pretend they never said that, what are you talking about?

For their route specific we have two interesting options. Royal F catches Tsareena, embodying F’s own cruel heart, with its dex entry stating, “In victory, it shows off by kicking the defeated, laughing boisterously.” Royal F loves when it does that. Peasant F gets Volcarona, a pokémon said to be the rage of the sun, a deity of fire, made to save people and pokémon from cold, and symbolic of F’s more heroic role in the Peasant path.

BONUS:

While it would be impossible to plan a whole team for MC, I believe their father would determine the available starters.

Papa Strom took MC to a military daycare center and had his kid choose from a hand-picked selection of starters. The options are:

Oshawott (Water): its final evolution, Samurott, is based off samurai. Since a Storm MC can have a katana, this seemed fitting.

Chespin (Grass): its final evolution, Chesnaught, is based off the concept of knights and armor.

Charmander (Fire): it seems fitting for a STORM MC to have a starter that can actually fly later on, not to mention how knights and dragons often appear side by side in stories.

Razor didn’t get to give his kid a pokémon. Luckily MC managed to steal one from a totally-not-fake pokémon professor that just so happened to wander on a poorly lit part of town with three starters on his belt. The options are:

Froakie (Water): ninja pokémon, perfect for a sneaky thief.

Rowlet (Grass/Flying): ghost archer with a Robin Hood theme, fitting for a more heroic Razor MC.

Tepig (Fire): its final evolution is based off a man who was assassinated by his own subordinates, foreshadowing MC’s own connection to assassins.

Dad Xero brought home a trio of pokémon he had been considering training for use in his lab. MC bonded particularly well with one of them and Xero decided to let his kid keep it. The options are:

Piplup (Water): evolves into a Water/Steel type, which is immune to poison. Having a pokémon with poison immunity is essential to many lab setting with dangerous chemicals abound.

Bulbasaur (Grass/Poison): the other side of the coin, a Grass/Poison type. Greatly useful for studying both antidotes and bio weapons.

Cyndaquil (Fire): its official category is the fire mouse pokémon, so it makes sense one would end up a lab rat.

Pops Scurra just sent a pokéball via mail one day, alongside a handful of trinkets. E’s mom may or may not have *gently* convinced him that his kid was old enough to get their own pokémom and mentioned a particular one she was sure MC would like. The options are:

Popplio (Water): a darling singer to provide musical accompaniment to MC’s performances.

Sprigatito (Grass): a magician ready to provide an enchanting performance alongside its trainer.

Scorbunny (Fire): its final evolution, Cinderace, has this tidbit on its pokédex entry, “It gets pumped up when cheered on. But if it starts showboating, it could put itself in a tough spot.” A good reminder for any performer.

ᯓ★ Stan has kept up his interest in music, he inherited his dad's electric guitar and plays only in his room and around his friends.

ᯓ★ He likes listening to a lot of rock and metal bands; Guns n Roses, Queen, Jinjer, Kiss, Eraserheads and even Imagine Dragons.

ᯓ★ He was one of the first of the boys to get their driver's license besides Tolkien.

ᯓ★ Him and Tolkien have grown closer as friends over the years despite the one sided feud between their dads. They thought it was pretty stupid.

ᯓ★ Tolkien still teases Stan about how he thought "Token" was his actual first name.

ᯓ★ Has gotten into reading thanks to Tolkien and Kyle. Calista got him into reading horror manga. Books he's been reading lately are Play Dead by Jane Mason & Sarah Stephens, The Dead Zone by Stephen King and Oyasumi Punpun by Inio Asano.

ᯓ★ Stan convinced Kyle to tag along with Calista and Kenny to get their ears pierced together.

ᯓ★ General animal lover. Self declared animal enthusiast but only knows surface level info about said animal. A sucker for Doggos.

ᯓ★ Drives to San Diego to just unwind and calm down, not to jack it down there.. sometimes.

ᯓ★ Is the usual designated driver on road trips if he's not hungover. Second most responsible driver of Team Stan.

ᯓ★ Has cared less about how he puts his outfits together, usually just tosses on a simple printed tee, some jeans, farm boots and jacket.

ᯓ★ Night owl, definitely has insomnia. Late night discord calls are usually initiated by him.

ᯓ★ Loves board games. A great DM in DND, he sometimes uses the concepts of their games (Stick of Truth or Freedom Pals) into his campaigns.

ꜱᴄʜᴏᴏʟ ʟɪꜰᴇ

ᯓ★ Stan is one of the popular kids, due to their prevalence since childhood growing up in South Park. He's not sure whether or not he likes it.

ᯓ★ He plays as a quarterback for the South Park football team, he only joined cause Kenny joined cause he didn't want to join by himself.

ᯓ★ He gets pretty decent grades, only because he gets help from Kyle or just copies off his homework at times.

ᯓ★ Stan comes in a few minutes after the first bell. He likes to sit at the middle most of the seating arrangements.

ᯓ★ Likes to doodle on his hands with his pens, he sometimes forgets this and ends up wiping the ink on his face. Cartman rips on him for it 100% of the time.

ᯓ★ Stan's favorite subject is english and it's his highest grade, it's a class he can destress in. He also kinda likes when people ask him to review their works since he finishes earlier than most on essays.

ᯓ★ His least favorite is PE, he's already worn out from football practice he doesn't wanna get decimated in dodgeball either.

ᯓ★ His handwriting is scratchy when lazy and in a hurry but intelligible at best and taking his time.

ᯓ★ He likes to use his pen to carve random stuff onto the desks or tables he sits at.

ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ ʟɪꜰᴇ

ᯓ★ Stan still lives in Tegridy Farms with his family. Shelly has already moved out for college so it's only just him and his parents.

ᯓ★ Randy isn't as intense anymore when it comes to his weed propaganda so he's rather chill these few years.

ᯓ★ Sharon is a rather supportive mother like she always was, though she worries a lot now that Stan is a teenager so she tries to regulate him more in terms of discipline.

ᯓ★ His relationship with Randy and Sharon are rather complicated, especially towards Randy. Stan still loathes his life at the farm and had a poor adjustment period due to the pandemic, he blames his dad for this.

ᯓ★ Sharon is deeply troubled that Stan is drinking underage but is happy his friends are there to support him, to even take him home when he's too drunk to drive.

ᯓ★ Feels indifferent when his mom scolds him but appreciates that she worries for him, even if he's not a little kid anymore.

ᯓ★ His relationship with Shelly has improved now that they've matured a bit, he texts her every once in a while to check up on her and ask how college's been treating her.

ᯓ★ Shelly is at college to be a School Nurse! She's mellowed out over the years and has shown a more caring but tough love side to her.

ꜱᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇꜱ ᴀꜱ ᴀ ᴛᴇᴇɴ

ᯓ★ Stan being depressed would be an understatement, he's had a few spirals which didn't surprise anyone but concerned them even more.

ᯓ★ He's still been drinking unfortunately, he can get through a bottle of whiskey if it wasn't pried away from him.

ᯓ★ Stan hates Weed with a passion, a sentiment him, Shelly and Sharon share because of Randy. He never attempts to touch the stuff.

ᯓ★ Him and Wendy have officially broken up due to his drinking problem, it was Wendy that made the decision for the sake of both of them.

ᯓ★ There was a lot more issues with their relationship besides this of course, everyone knew there was no use in dragging a dead horse around and expecting it to gallop.

ᯓ★ Kyle is his designated person to pick him up from parties. Calista and Wendy often coming along cause Stan gets a little rowdy when getting him home.

ᯓ★ Stan's gotten into arguments with Calista cause she hates to see him drunk. She's been planning on an intervention for him.

ᯓ★ Wendy comes along to help because she still feels that Stan is her responsibility even though they've already split.

ᯓ★ Stan struggles with communication, opting to hide his problems until it blows up in his face and is forced to confront them.

ᯓ★ As much as he knows his relationship with Wendy was toxic for the both of them, he can't help but miss how simple it used to be between them.

ᯓ★ He's insecure about having to mature mentally faster than most of his friends because of his mental health struggles.

ᴀꜱ ᴀ ᴛᴇᴇɴ ɪɴ ꜱᴏᴜᴛʜ ᴘᴀʀᴋ

ᯓ★ Kyle's been getting into a lot of organization and management games lately. His top ones are House Flipper, Powerwash Simulator, Unpacking and The Sims.

ᯓ★ Likes to rearrange and redecorate his room a lot, every month its a different layout every time with one new addition adding to the charm of his room.

ᯓ★ Has a certain fondness for MOBA Games, particularly League of Legends. Extremely passive aggressive when his team/friends aren't performing well. Favorite roles are Jungler and ADC.

ᯓ★ Has also gotten close with Tolkien as friends over the years, they still do the occasional TikTok every once in a while.

ᯓ★ Kyle drinks his respect women juice. Extremely respectful and the literal definition of Boyfriend Material.

ᯓ★ Somehow he's still single??? He doesn't wanna think about it, the fact haunts him at night.

ᯓ★ You can leave your drink with him and he'd be like a guard dog, keeping it safe from anyone slipping anything into it.

ᯓ★ Quite literally the voice of reason for his friends. Tries his hardest to keep them out from doing dumb shit but he gives up eventually. Can't expect stupid not to do stupid. *cough cough* Eric *cough cough*

ᯓ★ A decent cook! Sheila insisted he learn because he babysits Ike so often whenever her and Gerald are out of the house.

ᯓ★ He wears a white tank top under his shirt and occasionally wears a gold chain and a few rings to connect more to his Jersey side.

ᯓ★ Kyley-B still lives within him, he's gotten more control over that side of him. It only ever comes out when he's extremely angry, his accent comes out a bit.

ᯓ★ He likes wearing his expensive air forces his dad bought him to school, it's his few humble brags.

ᯓ★ Has started wearing his hat less cause Calista commented that he looked better with his hair out.

ᯓ★ The first, most responsible driver out of the group. You can take naps when he's driving and abides by the traffic laws.

ᯓ★ Puts a lot of thought behind how he dresses. He pretty much just dresses smart.

ꜱᴄʜᴏᴏʟ ʟɪꜰᴇ

ᯓ★ Kyle is definitely a top student, just a few steps behind Wendy. Gets a lot of As and the occasional B in his cards.

ᯓ★ He's popular like the rest of his group of friends, more particularly with the girls and his whole schtick of being a smart kid.

ᯓ★ Kyle is the type of student who's easy to get along with because he radiates a friendly energy. He's the most approachable out of his group of friends.

ᯓ★ Dude is definitely in the debate club, likes arguing with people, gets a lot of tips from Gerald on how to overpower your opponent and dismantle their argument.

ᯓ★ Despite being in the debate club, he's a varsity basketball player of the South Park Cows. He never gave up on it and had grown a lot taller over the years!

ᯓ★ Never let him tutor you, he would take it too seriously and gets hot headed when you don't follow, even if he did it as a friendly favor. Stan can attest to this unfortunately.

ᯓ★ Wendy offered him to be part of the school council but he rejected it in favor of focusing on basketball and debate club.

ᯓ★ Has the least amount of detentions out of his friend groups. He's a good noodle, somewhat ⭐️

ᯓ★ His favorite subject is History! He likes learning about the past and is curious about how things must've been like, besides the racism and extreme classism of course.

ᯓ★ His least favorite subject is also PE, he hates the extra exercise he gets.

ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ ʟɪꜰᴇ

ᯓ★ Ike is in 4th grade now, the same age Kyle did most of the reckless shit he did.

ᯓ★ Don't worry, Ike's a good kid and has a lot more self control than Kyle had at his age.

ᯓ★ Ike's still into video games and he often plays with Kyle, COD and League are their frequent games. He's a good Support and Mid Laner.

ᯓ★ He has expressed his interest in going back to Canada when he's older, Kyle is supportive of his little brother as always.

ᯓ★ Kyle is a mama's boy whether he admits to it or not. He's taken up a lot of Sheila's mannerisms now that he's a bit older.

ᯓ★ Kyle still retains Gerald's personality traits, often being laid back and being the person who has to be the middle man to calm his friends down before things get heated.

ᯓ★ Sheila got a therapist now to deal with her anger! She's not as intense anymore but is still critical when it comes to her son's schooling and discipline.

ᯓ★ She was not happy to find out that he got his ears pierced without her permission. Gerald was chill about it and told him to take care of it properly.

ᯓ★ Gerald's comfortable as his job as a lawyer, he's been forbidden from trolling anymore after what happened. He's also strictly monitored whether he's having some withdrawals from cheesing.

ᯓ★ Kyle often hides that he drinks and smokes weed sometimes, he stays out a few hours extra to make sure he's sobered up and doesn't stink of the green.

ꜱᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇꜱ ᴀꜱ ᴀ ᴛᴇᴇɴ

ᯓ★ Kyle heavily struggles with his anger issues, it's something he has trouble controlling. He ends up in a yelling match with Eric almost everyday cause of something stupid he says.

ᯓ★ Stan, Kenny and Calista have no idea how the two of them have the energy to bicker at 10 in the morning.

ᯓ★ Kyle offended pretty easily, especially if it comes off as offensive even if it can be misunderstood.

ᯓ★ He often thinks that he's in the right cause most of the times he has logic and reasoning when it comes to decisions, but he often loses sense of that and makes his own dumb decisions.

ᯓ★ If he gets overwhelmed by anger, he will yell and scream, worse is if he gets physical when he knows this person can go up against him.

ᯓ★ Sheila has recommended her therapist to him but he doesn't wanna take it because he believes he doesn't need a therapist.

ᯓ★ Kyle is insecure that he's unlovable due to his history with girls.

ᯓ★ He's scared that he'll become a bachelor when he's older and doesn't end up marrying anyone.

ᯓ★ He also is scared about scaring his friends away if he can't control his anger enough.

ᯓ★ Kyle acts on his heart first before his brain most of the time, he lets his emotions get the better of his judgement and makes him lose all sense.

ᯓ★ He gets peer pressured very easily, having FOMO because his mom is strict on what activities he can't do.

ᯓ★ He hides a lot of his activities from his parents, scared of disappointing, or worse, angering them in the process.

ᯓ★ Burn out hits him like a truck and there are weeks where he doesn't wanna do anything and struggles to find motivation, his studying often fueled from his anxiety of getting a bad grade.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition First Impressions

Started playing yesterday after having it sit on my Steam library for years and thought it would be fun to note down my first impressions of the game!

Tales Experience

For note, this is not my first game in the series. I've played a significant part/finished Symphonia, Abyss, Zestiria and Berseria, and also played a bit of Phantasia and Arise. My favourites are Abyss and Berseria!

The Plot

I've gone up to Shaikos Ruins by now, so I haven't seen muuch of the plot, but knowing Tales I can predict some conspiration of those in power that relates to the ancient technology lol

I don't mind most Tales games sticking to a tried and true formula as I think the best part of those stories is how they tie to the development of the characters. And talking about characters...

The Characters

I already like Yuri a lot tbh. I love how he's simultaneously too tired for this shit but also cares too deeply to not help others in need. Combat-wise he's your sword main character(tm) which I always appreciate since I'm not that good at combat to play with the more intensive chars lol. Cool dude 10/10.

Omg Estelle is another one I'm loving?? She's kind and sheltered but she's also funny and a book lover. I love her dynamic with Yuri, sheltered noble x world weary (ex-)military makes me think of Luke x Tear who I have always liked a lot. I also love her dress, it looks like a flower!

Extra notes on her and Yuri's relationship, I'm curious to see how Flynn will play into it but I'm already envisioning the "this is my boyfriend Yuri and this is my boyfriend's boyfriend Flynn" thing lol

Also she and Yuri already had the "would you still love me if I was a worm snake or frog?" conversation and I love that for them tbh

Mechanically she's a healer so... sorry girl, probably not going to play as you so much :'D and please stop using sharpness on yourself!!! Still 10/10

Doggo/10, what's more to say?

Ok but Repede is really cool! The only part of his design I'm not a big fan of is the electric blue fur on his head. I'm pretty curious on what's his story with his previous owner and how he came to hang with Yuri (I'm pretty sure the pipe is a memento?)

Mechanically he's the faster but frailer guy which is... ok I guess lol

He's scared as fuck and he has a big ass tote so he's very relatable lol I'm pretty sure him knowing to lockpick will be significant somehow, maybe a hint of his past? 8/10 let's see what he has in store

Mechanically he's the big swing guy which I always enjoy playing as even tho I'm bad at it

Smartass ass lil lady/10. This is a "type" of character I always like in Tales so happy to see her there lol. Still have to finish the ruins to see how will she decide to tag along the party. Mechanically she's the offensive caster, found her nice to play at but I don't like to stay still for long so I don't play caster very much.

Now that I'm done with the characters for now, let's get to...

The Gameplay

This is one of the Tales with the lanes + free movement duo. I'm playing on normal bc I'm a scrub, but I still feel that blocking at the right time/free moving to reposition is pretty important as some enemies can hit quite hard. Usually it gets easier with time bc you get more characters/spells, but for now I'm feeling the difficulty is in a nice place. Skills being learnable from weapons adds some more levels of choice (do I equip every new stronger piece of equipment or do I wait to learn skill X?) which is interesting. I'm glad I'm playing on my Deck as I don't have to worry about save points since I can just put it to sleep.

Now for the last part...

The Visuals

As I've stated before, I'm playing this on a Steam Deck, so I can't comment on how this would look on a giant screen, but for the Deck at least, it looks pretty good! The art direction is pretty strong and all the environments I saw up to now have been distinctive and very nicely crafted. The characters also look pretty good, and the overrall effect is like you're playing an interactive anime. Really shows how a good art direction makes a game look good no matter how old it is.

Anyways having an overrall nice experience with this one! I'm curious to get more characters and see how they develop. Idk if I'll write any more of this but it has been fun to ramble about lol. If you read this all thanks for reading lol have you played this game?
