What are songs of the last decade that changed your brain? Like, you haven't been the same. Answers can and should be cringe. Here's some off the top of my head:
Entirety of Electra Heart, but Teen Idle if I have to choose one
Smile Song by the beloved Pinkie Pie
Pierre and Natasha from The Great Comet
Young and Beautiful (specifically in The Great Gatsby)
This is Gospel (it was 2015 you had to be there)
If I Die Young
Shut up and Dance
Back in Time (Pitbull)

stex appreciation month day 2: pearl
favorite actor:
i am so so normal about reva rice as pearl i promise i'm so normal JOKE i'm actually completely obsessed with her she's just everything to me she is THE pearl, when i think of pearl i think of her, her voice is gorgeous, she has the mannerisms of pearl, i just love her so so much
and lmao get ready for more reva appreciation when it comes to poppa/momma day
favorite song/scene
going off of the reva appreciation, "make up my heart" is one of my FAVORITE songs from the show
if we're also talking duets "i do" is literally one of my top five favorite romantic duets it's everything to me
another honorable mention goes to ich bin ich <3 favorite bochum song fr i don't get the hate for it i just smile every time i listen to it
favorite costume:
STRONG tie between super curly-haired bubblegum pearl and sleek silver/white pearl, both from the bochum production!!
i think the pink gives off a very futuristic vibe and goes perfectly with dinah's mostly blue outfit, especially since each character has one definitive color, but i think apparently i'm in the minority when i say i absolutely adore the silver bochum outfit???? it creates the most beautiful juxtaposition between prusty whenever they're next to each other, because the whole point is that rusty is an outdated steam engine while pearl is fresh off the line and brand new.
(also... her name is literally pearl... it makes so much sense that her costume would be pearlescent)
but bubblegum pearl does have my heart, especially when she gets a super cute curly pink wig!! platinum blonde version of the super curly wig + silver bochum costume would be everything to me
favorite ships/friendships:
prusty my beloveds that is my MAIN pearl ship!!!!! do not separate them!!!
friendships obviously the other coaches, but i also do think that pearl and dustin would become such good friends, their relationship just seems like it'd be so sweet, with dustin being rusty's closest friend and pearl being his partner, they'd just adore each other platonically 😭😭😭
tbh i don't know why but i also feel like electra and pearl would end up being really good friends? i can't explain why, but i just think post-race the two of them become close
headcanons:
you know when one person is like, healthily obsessed with their partner? that's pearl. she and rusty love each other more than anything, but pearl can and will make rusty the center of attention. she LOVES bragging about him, and absolutely takes every chance she can to gush about him.
she knows every single constellation, and also has the best navigation system out of everyone in the train yard.
my girl has the biggest grudge against greaseball for a while, she puts up with him purely because he's dinah's partner, but it takes a while for there to be a type of peace between them

Sometimes I think about my Starlight Express song opinions so here they are:
(PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM AMERICAN SO I CAN ONLY WORK WITH SO MUCH)
Rolling Stock makes me feel manly- something about it makes me wanna pump some fucking iron
Call Me Rusty is adorable and is a better introduction to Rusty than Crazy. Call Me Rusty points out his stubbornness and willpower to win, while also showing that the coaches show genuine concern to his condition and don't just go "man this kid is fuckin insane"
If you think I Got Me is "too empowering," You're weird. I understand thinking it's a little odd for setting up Dinah's character, but there's a difference between that and "oh the women are too independent." I think my biggest problem with I Got Me is that there are not coach intros.
I like Lotta Locomotion for what its worth. It's just a cute lil intro song
Whole Lotta Locomotion- wheeeew- it's certainly... a song! It tries so hard to be girlboss-y but fails lyricwise and makes them even more dependent on men- but Im not gonna lie and say I hate it because Jesus it's catchy-
FREIGHT IS GOOD, YALL ARE JUST MEAN- I specifically like the one version from London 1992 where the coaches ARE BRUTAL FOR NO REASON- Also, versions without CB suck ass
AC/DC is at its best when Electra is an over-the-top diva and the components MUST eat it up.
Pumping Iron makes me feel so ungodly feminine (I wonder which part I sing) AND I LOVE IT. I LOVE FEELING FEMININE. I especially love when Greaseball is super snarky and flirtatious.
He'll Whistle At Me puts me to sleep. Make Up My Heart is beautiful. He Whistled At Me is terrible narrative-wise but MAN OH MAN DOES IT MAKE ME FEEL GIRLY
Coda of Freight is REALLY REALLY GOOD????
There's Me is adorbs and I. MISS. IT.
Poppa's Blues is a banger, yall are just haters. Also, hot take, but Poppa should NEVER be white.
Belle may not have much of a purpose in terms of the story, but jeez, her voice is beautiful. I love Belle so much.
I am a Rap enthusiast, so I have to give you my opinions on all of them. Hey You is a classic and it was my first Rap. It sounds so silly and Electra makes me giggle every time. Check It Out is so stupid but WOW IS ELECTRA GAY- I love the beat too. What Time Is It is so extremely CAMPY but I have a soft spot for it- The only version of Own It, Nail it that I have is the 2017 London workshop, and that one was almost a carbon copy of Check It Out. BORING.
UNCOUPLED is always such a sweet song. I HAVE A GRIPE WITH PEOPLE WHO MAKE DINAH SO MF SOUTHERN. Like, I get it, but don't give her a HUGE accent. See Jane Krakowski.
Girls Rolling Stock makes me feel so girlboss.
CB (or Wide Smile) is a mf bop and a masterpiece
Right Place, Right Time makes me jam out hard
The beginning of He Whistled At Me Reprise makes me so sad- DUSTIN QUIT CRYIN BOY!
Dinahs Disco is so slay and Electra is such a prissy princess-
"CB! CB! YOU GOTTA HELP ME IN THE FINAL SEEECTIOOOON"
One Rock N Roll Too Many makes me lowkey sad- but my god is it funny-
Only He is a masterpiece. BUT... NEXT TIME YOU FALL IN LOOOOOOOVE IT BETTER BE WITH ME THE WAY IT USED TO BE BACK THEN WAS WHEN WE TOUCHED THE STARLIIIIGHT-
Next Time You Fall In Love makes no sense to me lyric-wise but the song slaps
"I love it when romance occurs on the railroad"
The Megamix my beloved
So, tell me what you think! Do you agree? Disagree?

I WANNA HEAR ABOUT LEIT MOTIF THAT IS THE COOLEST FUCKING NAME EVER
^ Me rn
Well I didn’t really come up with the name, @tealottie did (hai Missy ilu), but I came up with basically everything else. Leit Motif has sound manipulation powers which I haven’t fully worked out yet.
His backstory so far is that he got a career in the music industry but ran into some conflict with his label. Motif wanted to be a full on popstar (his ideal image is inspired by the likes of artists such as Electra Heart era MARINA and Charli xcx) but the label wanted a softer image. He gave in, but the album flopped because he didn’t put much effort into it.
Eventually Motif discovered that the songs he wrote were given to another singer (who in my head is named Valerie Valentine, but she mainly exists as a concept at the moment) and by then he had developed a massive ego so he tried sabotaging her career. Valerie was beloved by the industry and the general public, so Motif became infamous even before gaining powers and becoming a super villain.
I haven’t fully worked out a lot of the story stuff, but I still rotate Motif in my head like crazy. He’s a bitch and thinks himself better than just about everyone, except the Fearsome Four (not the Five, as his ego is almost enough to rival Negaduck’s own ego and their personalities clash a ton). I originally made him for the sole purpose of shipping with Quackerjack and I LOVE their dynamic. They are peak ‘I can make him worse’. And they do make each other worse.
Can you tell from the length of this response how much brainrot I’m having over this dumbass
#motif is genderfluid and uses whatever pronouns i use at any moment#but i’ve gotten so used to using he/him
