Hi Bee! It’s been a while. This is the anon that originally requested the first ask leading to An Unsung Melody! I’ve come back time and time again just to read every chapter, purely out of adoration and gratitude for the work you’ve put in to giving this gift to us readers, and the story you’ve crafted together with a lot of consideration and thought. It’s one of my favorite fics to come back to (and I promise it isn’t just bc I requested it LOL I just really like how you write!!!), and I love reading it when things are still and quiet. Basically, moments of peace, so I can focus on the pictures your words paint in my head.

It’s about 3 in the morning, and I thought to myself I wanted to read it again because it’s a fic that honestly gives me a lot of comfort. It’s so wonderfully written, and seeing things related to Eldarya feels like home even if I’ve also moved on from the fandom now. I’m gonna be so real, I actually teared up a bit seeing chapter 7 in bold letters on your account. I’m a month late to this, but it feels wild having seen it from beginning to end. A silly, whimsy request I sent at the time when I was sleep deprived turned into a beautiful multi-fic that genuinely occupies the back of my brain and that I return to multiple times in a year. Like seeing an old friend, or something, if that makes sense? Might be the 3 am brain making me nonsensical LMAOOO but anyways, I wanted to say thank you for writing that story. Every single chapter had me captivated from beginning to end, and I’m about to dive into Chapter 7 now. It’s been a long run, and I wanted to say it was worth every moment 💕 Thank you again, Bee, for all that hard work you’ve done for us!

I might actually cry! I remember freaking out on OLC (the discord server I'm very active in) when I first got the request. It was a prompt that deeply resonated with me, and with a headcanon I held dear. Seeing someone else wishing to read someone like it was so freeing! It allowed me to be creative and finally let out something that had occupied my thoughts for a long time.

I always felt bad for taking so long to update. The game itself ended before I had the chance to publish the fic in its complete state, but it was due to kind readers like you, who followed along and so kindly offered me support and patience, that I felt motivated to push through. It's with relief and pride that I published the last chapter (and hope to eventually offer you more stories within that same universe!). So I have a lot to thank you for. I'm massively grateful for all the kind comments, the name suggestions, and even the brave souls who took it upon themselves to translate my work into different languages. Thank you.

A main factor for ANE failure is the lack of consequences. Most of the time we don't feel the consequences of Erika's actions in secondary characters 's routine and vice-versa, at least not in some logical way. Leiftans kidnapping was an example.

The main trigger was Nevra's stupid diva moment "I know we are in a total different place from Eldarya, surrounded by enemies, but I'm the boss and I order you to eat, even if everybody here is used to dangerous missions and with enough stamina to handle a two-days mission without needing to eat (or are you telling me that during the mission on Genkaku they mentioned something about eating? nope, nothing! One day of trip and one day investigating the building), submitting them to a closed space and feeding Erika's paranoia. I highly doubt Nevra, the flawless-mission-achieved picture-perfect kind of guy would have submitted his comrades to such a place. The less they stayed there, the better; and Lance-boneco-de-posto did nothing to stop him despite being normally his replacement when needed. Ffs speak up, mf! You two are soooo siamese-brothers now that surely Nevra would have listened to your concerns!

I won't even elaborate on how the library scene was ugh! Then we all know what happens and Leiftan is kidnapped and she goes to her father again. The following scenes where Erika tries to make us believe she's worried about Leiftan are laughable for you can't help remember that everything could have been avoided, but hey plot reasons.

Mainly the scene in Erika's human room, they could have given us at last an impactful scene showing the consequences of Nevra's and Lance's lack of intelligence (and giving them the "look, even guard leaders who were once known as flawless can fail on purpose sometimes when they don't give a f*ck about the person, even if their main job as leaders is to protect their members but in this case we make an exception right? right??" trait, proving what HC always said "DON'T BLINDLY ACCEPT ORDERS PEOPLE GIVE YOU!!! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CLEARLY SEE IS A STUPID ONE!!!!!!!!") not only in Leiftan, but Erika as well. She could have felt Leifs daemon powers affecting her, or if it was sooo hard to write it, Leifs excruciating and maddening pain. After all, their reasoning to leave Leiftan behind was roughly "mehmehmeh we are here to protect YOU no one else*, so we will flee and Leiftan que lute until we come back to rescue him", so it would have been waaaay more impactful if the two realized that Erika was way more affected than they thought, quietly trying to keep herself together (whether alone or with Lance/Nevra), suffering Leif's pain and trying to reassure him at the same time. But then we got that stupid scene where Nevra only looks at Leiftan kinda apologetically after rescuing him. No consequence, no "forgive me", no realization that he was a moron and that by trying to make things right, he was blinded by his ego and almost killed Erika AND ELDARYA! Again, everything starts with that stupid let's eat scene, where the two know-it-all ignored the prudent voice of a woman (two women, if Erika sides with HC).

As a Leiftan simp and considering all the topics previously mentioned I tell you it wasn't enough for me. The've been knocking Leif down the entire season, I would have liked Nevra and Lance suffered the same at least once! And I'm not saying that to hate on them like everybody who doesn't know how to handle criticisms say, Nevra and Lance are the LI's I like the least, but their prompted and unbelievable stupidity here could have served for something nice in this bland story. By leaving Leiftan behind they had risked Erika's life nonetheless, risked the Chosen One's mind and by consequence Eldarya's destiny. They could have been largely responsible for Erika's breakdown, action-consequence!

This part could have been the last straw for Erika in daemon route, after all her boyfriend was tortured and kidnapped thanks to Lance's and Nevra's brilliant tactician minds and even Koori (no I won't complain about her, what a miracle heh?) could have had her time to shine here, being the one who helps Erika to calm down her daemon rage when the dumb squad returns.

After all she is sooo friendly with Leift since he's the only guy she can dominate, that she would also be devastated by his kidnapping and they could bond thanks to their mutual despise for the said men in power, because that's also the moment Erika is finally overwhelmed by her status, it's taking everything away from her. Lance and Nevra left Leiftan behind saying they must save her, her useless life is more worthy than Leiftan's. Their word (the final say, order) was more important than Erika's (cry of mercy, plea) for Leiftan's life or even HC's safety logic before that. If not even logic nor emotion can convince them, what do Erika and HC need to do to make them see THEY'RE WRONG?! THAT in itself is a power/gender dynamic that could have been a proper moment for her to connect with Erika's pain and enrage and cry with her.

Now, THAT would have been an amazing show-don't-tell-friendship- moment, a silent (Perrito in Puss in boots 2 ;-;), powerful scene of support, and a nice midsommar reference, I can even see the parallels in how both protagonists are controlled by everybody, even if Erika thinks Eel is her home, she's constantly brainwashed by the plot and the Guard, like Florence's character is tricked into thinking that place is the one she can call home after a life of insecurities and traumas. And let's remember that the voting scene was a waay more logical and interesting scene about gender clash than any of Koori's lectures.

Instead, we get: useless and mana-eating refs, some dumb lines in first episodes on how men are all baddies nonsense and whatever. Their despise and anger would be totally justified here, making Koori way more nuanced to me instead of her so artificial scenes where she tells us they're friends or that she was oh-my-god worried sick about Erika. And I assure you, this headcanon scene would have made me respect her a little, even believe she truly considers Erika as a friend instead of a veery useful piece in terms of influence in her power game.

Maaaan, I'll find a way to apply this rant to my story. Leif is not BoS Erika's LI, but I think I can adapt minor things and seize the idea.

*what about we remind those two dumbheads that if Leiftan dies, so does Erika? Are you telling me that during those seven years no one had found Leiftan's spellbook and connected the dots in terms of their bond and Erika's countless ressurrections? Talk about brilliant minds that keep the Guard standing heh?

FALLING - pt 1

“Erika!” Miiko threw her arms around me, hugging me like she’d never done before. I knew her feelings towards me had changed in time, but I had no idea of the extent of her affection.

Before I could even say a word, someone else was waiting to greet me, and Huang Hua held me in an even tighter grip. I felt tears coming to my eyes, I’d lost my family, but I wasn’t unloved.

“Tell us everything,” she said once we got to the Christal room. A foreign feeling crossed my body, I couldn’t perceive the Oracle’s presence anymore… she was really gone.

“I know,” Miiko nodded catching my gaze, “I feel the same.”

“What’s going to happen now?” I asked tiredly to both of them. The Oracle is dead, we are still surrounded by traitors and Valkyon is gone, taken by Lance who knows where.” I went to lean against the wall, exhausted. “Once the guys managed to rescue me from certain death at the bottom of Memoria’s cliff they had already disappeared.”

“Certain death?” Huan Hua repeated, her eyes bulging in shock, “tell us everything, from the moment that monster kidnapped you.”

I opened my mouth and tried to formulate the words, but a sharp pain in my chest stopped me from even emitting a sound.

I’d realised, the moment we’d got to the sea traveling back to HQ, that Lance had done something to me. The guys had asked me all kinds of questions about what had happened, but I hadn’t been able to reply to even one. He must have used the same spell that tied him to the daemon and prevented from tell each other’s secrets. Had it worked on me because I was part aengel?

Miiko and Huan Hua were disappointed but allowed me to go back to my room and rest, I really was exhausted.

I let my tired body fell onto my bed. Ugh… I was still wearing my dusty, worn clothes… without even getting up, I undressed and threw them to the floor, remaining just in my underwear. I didn’t have the strength to shower, I was going to do it in the morning.

I’d left my door unlocked just in case, but I knew my boyfriend wasn’t going to join me that night. There were too many things to discuss and plans to make to go to Valkyon’s rescue.

But did he really need saving? I thought as I tossed and turned in my bed. Lance wasn’t going to hurt him, I was sure about that now. Whatever his sins, and there were many, he wasn’t going to turn against his family. After the things we’d seen in Memoria, his people, his mother… I’d never seen him as shaken and shattered as when he’d witnessed his parents’ final hours.

I knew it now, his heart was in pieces.

Would a completely evil man be capable of feeling so much? With such intensity?

I didn’t think so, still… he’d thrown me off that cliff just to buy himself time to escape. I liked to think that he’d done so because he was sure the guys were there ready to save me, but I felt disappointed, and I had no reason to.

That’s not true, is it? Said a little voice inside my head, you two were getting pretty friendly on that island.

I swallowed hard, a little ashamed of myself. There’d been moments, during this whole kidnapping ordeal, that he hadn’t treated me just as his prisoner.

There’d been moments where I hadn’t seen him as a monster.

There’d been moments where I’d been incredibly attracted to him, where I’d forgotten about anything and anyone else.

I was suddenly feeling hot, even though I was almost completely naked. Touching the skin on my chest, I realised I was burning up, and I was pretty sure I wasn’t ill.

My hand moved to my belly, caressing lightly… and in my mind it wasn’t my hand at all… it was bigger, stronger… wearing a tick, black, leather glove.

“What do you want, little thing…” his voice whispered to my ear, as if he were there with me.

“I really want to kiss you right now,” I replied, my hand… his hand… moving to my hips, each caress leaving goosebumps on my skin.

“Then do it,” he taunted me and, with my eyes closed, I could see his devilish smirk.

The hand was now between my legs, above my underwear, touching between my fold, the thin barrier of my slip doing nothing to prevent me from feeling everything.

And because in fantasies there are no consequences and prices to pay, I kissed him.

My lips attacked that evil smirk with hunger, meanwhile the fingers between my legs had found exactly the right spot where they were needed the most and started massaging with vigour and expertise.

I didn’t want sweet, I didn’t need soft, in my mind our kiss was pure instinct and untamed power. I stayed there, writhing on my bed, enjoying that forbidden fantasy for I didn’t know how long.

With one final bite to his lips I came, my back arching and my body shaking uncontrollably.

“I think that’s the first time I heard you moan, it was a fucking melody.”

This time the voice, his voice, wasn’t coming from my head. I immediately opened my eyes and raised my back to rest on my elbows, my skin flushed and my muscles weak, while I was still partially coming down from the pleasure I’d just experienced.

Lance was right there, leaning against the wall in the darkest corner of my room, and was looking at me with hunger in his eyes, his gaze caressing my whole body from head to toe.

“How…” I started to ask, when he interrupted me.

“That was the best show I’ve ever seen in my life, I should thank you.”

“It wasn’t a show, and it definitely wasn’t for you,” I replied angrily.

“Really?”  he said coming closer, with confident steps. Crunching down he grabbed my chin between his fingers and added “and I was so sure it was my name I’d heard on those sweet lips of yours when you came.”

I hadn’t… had I?

“I‘m going to strangle you,” I growled between my teeth, murder in my eyes.

“Is that a promise?” he replied, his evil smirk back in place.

“While there’s nothing I would love more right now than having your hands all over me, I can hear someone coming, they’ll be here soon.”

Standing up he went to my window.

“I stopped by to say that I’m back and I will need your cooperation in some matters.”

“The hell I’m going to help you, it’s enough that I can’t say anything about you,” I replied standing up and grabbing a night-gown, finally aware that I was almost naked in front of him.

“And isn’t that convenient?” he replied climbing my windowsill, “this way you don’t have to pretend to get into any moral battle with your conscience. You’re welcome.”

“You’re impossible!” I whispered-yelled, “where’s Valkyon?”

“I doesn’t concern you, just know that he’s fine and he’s exactly where’s supposed to be, at my side. I’ll see you soon.”

He jumped off, right before a knock came to my door. Karen had been sent to wake me up to discuss about possible plans to find Lance.

Little did they know he was right there under their noses.

And I wasn’t going to tell them.

Eldarya Prompts

I found an untitled document in my Google drive and I was very surprised to find those fun writing ideas. I don't really remember writing them and I am not sure if they are not inspired by something, so I am just going to post them here. If anyone will use one of them, please tag me, because I'd love to read anything inspired by those!

I may even write more of them. I am so bad at writing finished stories for myself.

2. You are the most blunt being in Eldarya. You are quite sure half of the Guard hates you, but you just feel that painful need to tell them how freaking ridiculous they are. Well.. There is this one blonde dude that is somehow less ridiculous than others. You are also quite sure he loves listening to your rambling about the awful organisation of this place and it almost feels as he is making notes. He is a weirdo, but a handsome weirdo. 3. There was this one night you went for some milk, because it's not like anybody guards anything in this damned place. On your way back to your room, you are (not) surprised to see Ash hitting someone. With a pan. Again.

4. You are drunk and also explaining to Nevra why Twilight is the worst vampire novel you have ever read.

5. You know your myths, so when this guy told you you will need something with a “Lethe” in this weird potion, you flipped him off. Now, it's been few hours of petting your magical pet somewhere inside a forest and somebody is coming.

6. The guard leaders were hitting on you. You just laughed and giggled. Somebody gave you a new magical necklace. Fools. They don't know you are a lesbian.

7. (Valentines event) There is a succubus in the building and you went to your own room for safety. Little did you know there was already a demon inside your room. (Leiftan or Lady Succubus - Akire, do as you want)

I'm probably late to announce, but I'm planning to be doing a 30-day long challenge. I was inspired by a topic on the Hungarian forum, but I might be late to submit my work there. However, I still would like to do it. (If you have an account, you can see the post for yourself here.) Feel free to participate. Prompts are below the cut:

Who's your favorite female supporting character?

I already mentioned Rosalya from MCL a few prompts back, but I also have to mention now Huang Hua and Eweleïn from Eldarya. They're both so supportive and not annoying and I adore them.

Hello! Can I ask for 28 from the fluff dialogue and 68 from the trope list with Nevra, pretty please?

Sorry for the time I took to get back at writing those hahahaha. Anyway, hope you like it nonny.

When Nevra came to their bedroom after a very tiring day, the first thing he saw was his girlfriend sprawled in the bed, her lower half hanging out of it. From the audible snores, she was in a heavy sleep. He also noticed how she was still in her casual clothes, probably so exhausted that she didn't even bother putting on her pajamas. 

Nevra took off his shoes and walked to the closet, careful not to wake her up. After grabbing a cotton nightdress, he sat on the bed and shook Erika gently. She didn’t move. He did the same again a few more times, but the result was the same. A sigh left his mouth. This wasn’t going to work. 

He slipped his hands between her back and the mattress, lifting her whole torso up and resting it against his chest. Her breath was deep and slow, a sign that she was still asleep. His hands travelled from her lower back to her neck, caressing the girl’s soft and peachy skin. After leaving a quick kiss on her shoulder, he continued his work.

Nevra took off her clothes slowly and replaced them with the robe, placing loving kisses every now and then on the exposed parts. His lips formed a smile as soon as he laid her back on her bed. She looked so cute, hair messy and lips slightly open. He finally kissed her on the forehead and got up, but before he could walk away a husky voice called him.

“Nevra… don’t leave.” 

The vampire turned around surprised. Erika still had her eyes closed and everything indicated that she was unconscious. Well, at least part of her. 

Feeling his heart melt, he laid back on the bed and wrapped his arms around her waist. She let out a low moan and put one of her legs over his, leaning her head against his chest. Nevra closed his eyes, not even caring that he still wore his normal outfit. Being lulled by her soft breathing, he started to feel sleep take over him.

“I would be crazy if I let you go.”
