I can't think about armand's age/gender dysphoria without wanting to scream for a thousand years. how he's constantly seen as a young boy because he was turned at 17 but by that point even before he's lived a minute as a vampire he already hasn't felt like a boy for years. and all the men who see him this way want to use him like a man without treating him as one. he's constantly saying to their faces that he is a man with wants and desires and feelings and they're like hmm that's nice. not to me though. but not in a way that protects any of the child in him. they're not like, you're a boy and that means you should be kept safe. they're like, you're a boy and that means whatever I do to you is not real. because you're not real and now you're so frozen that no matter what you do you never will be. literally no wonder he has every problem.

Look.
Ace Attorney fandom.
I know why people don't like Turnabout Bigtop. I am among the people who dislike Turnabout Bigtop.
But I GET why people like the case. I'm not going to be one of those annoying people who just blindly dump on it because I hate those mfs too.
Thing about Bigtop isn't that it sucks. Thing isn't the weird grooming stuff (though that is a huge part of it). It's not that it could've been good.
It's that - in my personal OPINION - it could have been *great*.
I think it had the potential to be one of the best third cases in the trilogy. It had everything; a fun and goofy setting fit for a pretty dang goofy lawyer game - where the environment itself had jokes and quips and one-liners and mishaps and tomfoolery written all over it, it had the previous case introducing a very interesting and important plotline that gave background for one of the more well-loved characters while also introducing an equally fucked up and lovable new one who was a child forced into a shit childhood of naivete in a CIRCUS with another character who was very naive and childish - whose interactions could have been funny and cute and reflective of said shit from the previous case (seriously she becomes such an important character in the 4th case, WHY would they not include her in this one for some character development? How did they fuck up letting a CHILD explore a CIRCUS?? That would have made the interactions flow MUCH better).
They had a pretty good, sympathetic killer imo, a morally dubious victim, an asshole of a client (who was pretty flat admittedly in-game, but I like his weird, topsy-turvy reasoning for it in the anime. Also, I think Max being kinda a dick would have bode well for the themes of Farewell since most of his clients up to this point have been like...nice? Not nice, but sympathetic, but him having to defend someone who's innocent but a prick would have shown him that just because someone is an asshole, doesn't mean they deserve to suffer for it and that they have the potential to grow as people, which is almost a complete opposite of what Matt was. Ultimately, I would have loved the contrast of them as clients and I think it would have also served as character development for Phoenix, especially with his low-empathy tendencies).
They just didn't think that far ahead. They just didn't execute it well enough. They just decided to make three of the adult characters fight for the hand in marriage of a teenage girl. (Bat's part of the story was actually kinda good if he was just YOUNGER, I think him doing that for Regina would have been a stupid thing someone in the circus would do to impress their crush. Damn you Ace Attorney and your weird treatment of underage girls!!)
It just flopped and that's ok.
Even though it kinda sucked, it can still mean something to me.
Also I'm a Moe Curls apologist. I liked him, shut up.

i'm sorry, what? '''katpiss'''? what are you, 5? also, peeta is the one who's too boring for katniss, who's actually a great protagonist for a ya series. but yes, let's keep on shitting on "flawed" complex female characters to lift up your bland fictional boys

it's always kind of a weird situation when you dislike something but it's not because it's bad, so it feels like it's difficult to explain why you don't like it.
i really dislike Ace Attorney 4, just. based on vibes alone. and i sound like a crazy person every time i try to explain it KRKFK
i simply don't like it. but i see why people like it, too. i respect how bold it was with the direction it wished to take the series. it didn't want to rest on its laurels and tried a new angle for the games. it just didn't work for me. i love DD and SOJ, they're my favorite games in the series, but they play way too safe after the mixed reaction to AA4 and it really undermined Apollo's character, and the other characters tbh.
i don't really care about most of the plot points set up in AA4 so it doesn't actually bother me, but i see on an objective level that it's fucking absurd that they dropped everything except for like, the dark age law stuff and if i was an AA fan experiencing DD and SOJ as they came out i'd be kinda pissed they just ignored everything AA4 set up.
it's just profoundly, deeply not for me. and i'm kinda relieved the rest of the trilogy didn't follow in its footsteps. i guess that's all i should have to say.

You have the right to like your Angbang intense.
You have the right to like your Angbang fucked up.
You have the right to like your Angbang unhinged.
You have the right to like your Angbang harmful.
But you also have a right to like your Angbang fluffy, too.
You are not woobifying them if you like it soft or write a fic where they say they love each other or kiss or high five or take a bite from the same sandwich or whatever. You have a different interpretation, that’s all.
You’re not committing some horrid unforgivable atrocity against your fandom. You’re not an “annoying fan” if you want your ships happy, even if other people dislike you for it, the same way you are not an “annoying fan” if you like your ships intense and other people dislike you for it.
You’re not a mean person for having an opinion that the majority dislikes. You’re an individual human being who has an opinion and your opinion is worth JUST as much as every other opinion in your fandom. Because that’s how opinions work.
You’re not disregarding canon any more than people who bend it to fit their other non-canon ships or headcanons or other interpretations of this ship or their interpretation of any other ship or anything else that JRRT or Christopher or the Tolkien estate disagree with.
We all see a piece of media and interpret it differently. It doesn’t make any of us better or worse for it. Ship and let ship.

this is going to sound insane of me, but bear with me because the most galaxy brain idea i got out of winter night trilogy is that koschei was a nickname. why would a mother call her son "bony" "slave" "miser" "skeleton"? and a villain being born with a villain name is too convenient and uninteresting. consider also, his dying and rising trope, how his story relates to dazhbog but also how the slavs considered him as a dual natured god who lived in buyan but also in the underworld, and that dual nature is represented with two names for one entity.
"we can notice in dazbog the cycle of dying and rebirth that is frequently found in many pagan creeds, including slavic paganism. the serbs mention dazbog, and folklore preserved a lame daba, who was almost always presented as an evil spirit, which probably indicates dazbog’s nature when being a part of the underworld, that is the world of the dead. the serbs more than any other people imagined dazbog as a lame old man, dressed in animal skins, usually bear skin, accompanied by a wolf. the wolf actually stands for his animal incarnation, or his primary shape"
lame daba was named dazhbog before his fall; the christianized version is how the devil was named lucifer before the fall. so naturally, i want to say koschei was named his antithesis, ivan before his fall. which makes so much sense for his portrayal in deathless (and also winter night) where him and ivan really are described as two halves of a coin. ivan is the innocence of the sun and warmth and at odds with koschei who is the seduction & temptation of the dark and cold. but as marya pointed out in the yaichka chapter when koschei finally allowed himself to be whole again, that version of him looked like koschei the deathless and ivan combined, and that version was human and could finally die & be redeemed

ronan and adam should’ve had a real conversation in greywaren they should’ve both been awake and should’ve argued the way they did back in the days because emotions are running High so naturally there is a reverting back to their younger selves and they should've started to calm down a little after said arguing and have an actual good thorough conversation afterwards in which ronan actualy apologizes to adam because let’s be real there was one needed and they make it clear what they want for the future and how they want it to pan out and how things are gonna work out and about what home means to each of them and about how each of them were keeping secrets from each other and how to avoid hurting each other in the future by not talking to each other and to stop keeping those heavy secrets to themselves with the thought that it’s only going to bother the other and “they were wanted they were wanted they were wanted” is actually brought across by them communicating this to each other in Real Actual Words and after this very good very lengthy very needed conversation they can hug as their actual real life corporeal bodies with their ribs still fitting together just as they had before and with adam’s hand still pressed against the back of ronan’s skull the way it always did

Project Dragon was a game that was in development for 3 years only to be canceled weeks from its announcement and its entire art and development team laid off. The game (which would have been called 'Everhaven' upon release) was intended to be a multiplayer sandbox rpg taking inspiration from both Minecraft and The Legend of Zelda, with an art style similar to that of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which some of the team members also worked on along with Crash Bandicoot 4.
According to character design/illustrator Nicholas Kole "Our cancelled project of the last 3 years is officially, truly dead as of today (internal attempts to save it failed), and the embargo on the whole body of portfolio work has been lifted". This means that the only way the game has a chance of resuming development is by raising awareness and spreading the word of it's development. More info from Nicholas Kole and #BringBackProjectDragon
Even if you're not interested in the game itself, you can find the concept art, animations, 3D models, music and all other completed pieces of work for the game being shared by the team at either of these links, and I think are worth checking out.
Some mounts and NPCs
4 of the 5 playable starter races (5th being human of course)
Edit: the decision to cancel the game was made by Forte, a blockchain company that acquired Phoenix Labs last year, who later decided to cancel all other projects so that the studio could focus on Dauntless and Fae Farm, Phoenix Labs' other already established games, rather than take the risk with this new IP.
I advise against sending any sort of hate towards Forte or Phoenix Labs and instead recommend continuing to share love for Everhaven and what it could have been until they realize their mistake.
Also thanks for 10k notes.

"Hey, Edgeworth!"
Maya looks delighted as she grins at the man standing before her. To anyone looking in from the outside, they make an unlikely duo - not the types who people would assume had any kind of connection at all, but... to be perfectly honest, Maya considers Edgeworth a friend, regardless of what others might think. Or, well, something close to it, at least.
She knows that he might not feel the same. Their main connection to each other is through Nick, and Edgeworth has never been the type to open up to others for as long as she's known him. But... in the short time they have known each other, she's seen so many sides to him that it's staggering. She's witnessed moments in his life that are so personal it feels like she had no right to see them... and after all the times he's helped Nick in court, and the times he's fought to help her as well - how could she not see him as a friend after all that?
It's only been a few hours since the trial of Iris, after... well. At the thought of her mother, Maya feels her stomach flip, and her smile wavers ever so slightly. So much has happened, and it all feels so unbelievable, but while she's been stubbornly repressing any thoughts of Misty Fey for Pearls' sake... that doesn't stop those feelings from being there, constantly threaten to bubble up and make her throat tighten with something unidentifiable. Is she upset? Angry? She knows she must be, but it's so hard to put these unpleasant feelings into words... she wonders why that might be?
But that's not what she came here to talk about. Once more forcing herself to be strong, Maya speaks up again before Edgeworth can, as cheerfully as she can.
"There's no need for that look! I didn't surprise you that much, did I?" ...The sneaking up on him and yelling aside. "Actually... I wanted to thank you. Do you have a moment?"
