Statue of a goddess, probably Nehemetaui or Nebethetepet Late Period–Ptolemaic Period Dynasty 27–30 550–300 B.C.
The shrine-shaped sistrum sound-box worn as a crown by this figure indicates that either the goddess Nehemet-aui, the consort of Thoth, or Nebethetepet, a manifestation of Hathor, is represented. The features of the goddess suggest a date to the end of the 26th dynasty, or the 30th dynasty. As the kings of the 30th Dynasty built important buildings including a temple to the goddess Nehemet-aui at Hermopolis, the seat of the god Thoth, it is plausible this statue is Nehemet-aui.
H. 17.8 × W. 4.3 × D. 10 cm (7 × 1 11/16 × 3 15/16 in.). H. (with tang): 20 cm (7 7/8 in.).

The statue does look more like Amenhotep III to my eye. Interesting discussion to be had here, I think.

Ahkenaten’s face be like
If you know the meme, you know the meme…
(Edit: This is not meant to be picking on the person who made the rendering process meme, I just think that Akhenaten’s face looks like said meme.)
for anyone who wants to know who this is, this is Ahkenaten, king Tut’s dad. He looks like a Pixar villain, I’m crying 😭. And if you know what his life was like, you’d know that he basically was just a Pixar villain! I wonder if anybody has a crush on him or had one when they were kids. 😂
no offense to you if you’re face looks like that. Ofc

Hello dear friends, may I present a new photo of my sculpture Tut, I've chosen to present the photo in an Emerald filter in the hope of making an artistic impression.
I really enjoyed creating this statue, it was a real challenge capturing the details and trying to create that Egyptian look . When you stood back and looked at this statue in the eyes the eyes seemed to look right back at you.
You almost get that feeling of being observed when you're next to Egyptian themed statues, as though you're being watched. Perhaps that was their aim , perhaps these works of art were placed there to protect and guard and something.
I'll definitely be creating more Egyptian themed sculptures in the future and I'll look forward to that . More art to follow soon dear friends, have a great new week, Take care 🤗🙏👋

This Egyptian statue dates to the 5th dynasty of the Old Kingdom, circa 2,500 BCE. It depicts Ka'aper, a scribe and priest-reader who had an official, but not very high-ranking role.
Sculptors and artists of the time would depict high-ranking figures like pharaohs, high priests, and members of the royal family with an idealized 'perfect' form, depicting broad shoulders, a muscled chest and a narrow waist. (no matter what they actually looked like irl)
But not for Ka'Aper! He did get some fuckin' AWESOME stone eyes, though. (The video shows how they were made)
BECAUSE he was not very high-ranking, he was sculpted as a regular-looking man, possibly true to his actual body instead of a 'perfect' figure. His statue depicts his double chin, round cheeks, and soft chest & belly.
He's also got a booty 👀
When it was discovered, the people excavating it nicknamed the statue "mayor" because his face bore a striking resemblance to their actual mayor at the time!
This statue is on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt, along with many other gorgeous examples of Egyptian art.
Sometimes we get to see a delightful intersection between 'important enough to get sculpted' and 'not important enough to be given a god-like figure to spare their ego'

Hello dear friends, may I present to you this green take on my sculpture called Ancient Egypt. I'm always toying creatively and it always seems that there is another way to present a sculpture.
Sometimes getting creative with pictures allows one to see the sculpture in a different way. And of course some pictures really bring out the character of the work of art.
I think this close up photo really shows the intensity of this Egyptian work , I look forward to posting again very soon.
I hope the week is going well for you, Take care dear friends 🤗☺️👋
