This is a sim for #elliescc @mylittlesimcorner 31-day Simblreen CAS challenge, an Egyptian queen living in her best afterlife era. She was recently awoken by a neophyte archeologist (Don Lothario🤭) who found her sarcophagus deep in the jungle of Selvadorada. He was awed by her beauty and regalness, understandably, and fell under her spell of charm and natural ability to lead. Yasss, Queen.
Day 28 theme:
🍷💅🏽Ancient🏺🐪
Don introduced her to his roommates whom she immediately hired as her royal entourage. Katrina Caliente is now her royal adviser, and her daughters Dina and Nina are ladies-in-waiting. Don felt left out so the queen gave him the position of her royal concubine. She wasn't sure he knew what that was until he proudly showed up in that outfit 😅😭
omg there's like 3 more days left for me, this challenge went by kinda fast!👀

I know they're teeeechnically the same person (I am not an advocate of Yugi Civil War Separatism) but the difference between when we call him Yami Yugi, the Pharoah, and Just Atem is so funny. Like:
Yami Yugi: Terrible terrible goblin demon man who really likes his friends and nobody else. Memetic serial killer.
The Pharoah: Noble Immortal Being of tragic circumstances, possessed of ancient vengeance and a crushing emptimess.
Atem: oooo my innocent baby boy. My sweet babou who may yet do no harm. please go to therapy.

like whomst the fuck even looked at the Egyptian dude who fathered two girls who didn't survive and who himself died at the ripe old age of 18 and went "yes THIS guy is For Real the White European Ancestor". whomst the fuck even got DNA out of Tut's mangled, bitumen-drowned mummy that was apparently good enough to study and which allegedly gave such clean results. a fucking wizard? what the actual hell.

Cleopatra ascended the throne at the age of 17 and died at the age of 39. She spoke 9 languages. She knew the language of Ancient Egypt and had learned to read hieroglyphics, a unique case in her dynasty. Apart from this, she knew Greek and the languages of the Parthians, Hebrews, Medes, Troglodytes, Syrians, Ethiopians, and Arabs.
With this knowledge, any book in the world was open to her. In addition to languages, she studied geography, history, astronomy, international diplomacy, mathematics, alchemy, medicine, zoology, economics, and other disciplines. She tried to access all the knowledge of her time.
Cleopatra spent a lot of time in a kind of ancient laboratory. She wrote some works related to herbs and cosmetics. Unfortunately, all her books were destroyed in the fire of the great Library of Alexandria in 391 AD. C. The famous physicist Galen studied her work, and was able to transcribe some of the recipes devised by Cleopatra.
One of these remedies, which Galen also recommended to her patients, was a special cream that could help bald men regain their hair. Cleopatra's books also included beauty tips, but none of them have come down to us.
The queen of Egypt was also interested in herbal healing, and thanks to her knowledge of languages, she had access to numerous papyri that are lost today. Her influence on the sciences and medicine was well known in the early centuries of Christianity. She, without a doubt, is a unique figure in the history of humanity.

The reign of the Pharaohs was longer than between the end of the Pharaohs to now
Most of us know well the last pharaoh of Egypt the great Cleopatra who died in 30bce over 2000 years ago but did you know that she is closer to our time now than she is to when the first ruler of Egypt ,or the first pharaoh, united upper and lower regions of Egypt?
The first pharaoh is believed by many scholars to be Narmer otherwise known as Menes. the first to unite upper and lower Egypt giving him the prestigious title of "the lord of two lands". this unification of Egypt and the birth of the first pharaoh occurred around 3100 bce over 3000 years before the end of Cleopatra.
Whats more, Narmer's wife Neithhotep appears to be the earliest recorded woman who name is known to us today. She also may have been a pharaoh herself making her the first known female ruler in history 5000 years ago. this could of happened after the death of her husband also making her the second pharaoh in history.
so there you have it, for 3000 years the pharaohs ruled Egypt 1000 years longer than when the last pharaoh died to now.

The Finding of Moses
Artist: Lawrence Alma-Tadema  (Dutch, 1836–1912)
Genre: Religious Art
Date: 1904
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Collection: Private Collection
Description
The work is a Biblical scene based on chapter 2, verse 6 of the Book of Exodus, in which Pharaoh's daughter comes to wash in the River Nile, and finds the infant Moses abandoned in a basket in the reeds. The painting depicts the scene after the infant has been discovered, showing a procession travelling back to the daughter's abode in Memphis, the capital of the Old Kingdom of Egypt. The Finding of Moses had been a popular scene for painters, especially since the Late Renaissance.
Shaven-headed male attendant in white loincloths carry Pharaoh's daughter in an elaborately decorated chair. She wears a pink diaphanous gown and elaborate jewellery, and holds a flail in her left hand, a symbol of royalty; in her right hand, she holds a lotus flower. The style and decoration of her chair is informed by illustrations of Egyptian tomb paintings. Her feet rest on a footstool decorated with bound captives — another symbol of royalty — and also referring to the enslaved Israelites. Hieroglyphic cartouches identify her as the daughter of Ramesses II. It has been claimed that one of Alma-Tadema's daughters sat as the model for Pharaoh's daughter. Two male attendants wave ostrich feather fans, while two female attendants carry Moses in his cradle alongside. The cradle has been decorated with lotus flowers, tied on with a pink ribbon. Another female attendant plays a stringed instrument.
The painting is composed like a frieze, with bright blues and purples of delphiniums in the foregrounds; the procession passing behind; a space for the river; and then, in the background, on the other bank of the river, teams of slaves can be seen labouring under their dark-skinned overseers, possibly working on the pyramids at Giza on the opposite bank. The blues of the flowers are echoed by the lapis lazuli inlay of the chair, but contrast with yellows, oranges, reds and pinks.
The plinth and feet of a red granite statue are just visible to the front left, possibly copied from a statue of Seti II in the British Museum. The plinth bears more hieroglyphics, reading "Beloved of Ra, King of Upper and Lower Egypt."

Chapter 328: The Exchange (Pt. 1)
It was nearly midnight when Theresa, Stephanie in tow, reached the temple, which lay about two miles north of Luxor’s city center.
Tumblr media
The ruin was deserted, since the site’s hours ended at 8 p.m. Fortunately, the gate was open – whether by coincidence or design, they did not know.
“Wow, this is impressive,” Stephanie said. “One of these days, I’d like to come back – you know, under better circumstances.”
Tumblr media
“I know,” Theresa said, leading Stephanie through the great gateway into the temple. “I used to love Egypt, but after a while, I started thinking of it as kind of a rival for my mom’s time and affection.”
“You never told me that before,” Stephanie said.
Tumblr media
“Well, I always felt kind of selfish feeling that way,” Theresa replied. “I mean, I never wanted to keep her from doing what she loved. I just wished, sometimes, that I could be more important than her work.”
“Stay where you are,” a voice said loudly.
Looking past the massive stone columns of the Grand Colonnade, which thrust upwards into the night sky, they saw a man near the outer wall holding a gun.
Tumblr media
“Do you have the scroll?” he asked.
“Yes,” Theresa said. “Just as you asked. Where’s my mother?”
“Place it on the stone in front of you and step back,” the voice said.
Tumblr media
“No,” Theresa said, forcefully. “I’ve done what you asked. Now you’re going to do what I ask. I want to see my mother.”
He paused, then turned to the second man, who pulled a woman from behind the column and pushed her forward.
“Mom!” Theresa cried. “Are you okay?”
Tumblr media
“I’m fine,” Dr. Ruth Matthews said, weakly.
“Now the scroll, Baroness!” the leader said, gruffly.
Theresa stepped forward and carefully placing the ancient papyrus on the stone altar before her.
Tumblr media
“Now back up,” the man said, and Theresa and Stephanie obeyed.
The second man pushed Ruth forward. She stumbled, but regained her footing as she walked slowly toward her waiting daughter.
As Ruth passed the stone upon which the papyrus lay, she slowed, staring at it and then at Theresa.
Tumblr media
“Run!” she shouted, snatching up the scroll and running toward them.
Confused, both Theresa and Stephanie paused for a moment – until they heard gunfire echo through the temple complex.
“I said RUN!” Ruth repeated, running past them.
Tumblr media
The three women ran back toward the front gate, where Stephanie’s rental car awaited, as the dark figures pursued her. Shards of stone flew from one of the ornately carved stone columns as another bullet struck it – just inches away from Theresa’s head.
“Are you crazy?” Theresa yelled as they leapt into the car and the engine roared to life.
Tumblr media
More gunfire cracked through the air, and a hail of bullets struck the rear end of the vehicle. Stephanie hit the accelerator hard and the car fishtailed, then straightened as she pointed it back toward Luxor. They were safe … for the moment.
