Also, like... I voted for make tool. If this means the mammoth hunters need help constructing a trap, I can do that. If they need something to bring back chunks of meat from the hunt, I'll make a sled. I'll work out how to build a scavenger-safe meat stash. Primarily being a tool maker does not mean I'm not engaging with the hunt, just that I know my strengths and weaknesses. Anyway, maybe we don't even have to hunt mammoth. Maybe me and the other tool makers get together and build an enclosure, and then we trap some wild goats in there? We protect them from bigger predators, and in exchange carefully cull a few? Steady supply of fresh meat, instead of the frenzied gorging ourselves on mammoth meat before the maggots get it, like we do now?

How Big Should Your Farm Be to Make a Profit?
Many new agripreneurs believe that the size of their farm will determine how profitable they’ll be. However, you can be profitable whether you’re farming 1 hectare or 100 hectares; it all depends on how you farm. When it comes to land, the most important thing to consider is not the number of hectares at your disposal, but rather the commodity that you farm and how you manage and control costs.…

What is Harrow Tool? | Agriculture Equipment
Tumblr media
An agricultural instrument known as a harrow is typically used to prepare the soil for the planting of crops. After plowing, the land is often tilled with a harrow machine to make it appropriate for plantations. In other words, a harrow is a tool used in farming to level the seedbed. In agriculture, harrowing is typically considered a method to separate and smooth out soil clusters, get rid of invasive plants, and cover seeds.

Life's Sweet Bells
A COD Farm Sim AU with some omegeverse splashed in!
Meet the Town!
John Soap Mactavish - Clean and green, with a scent like shortbread and rose,  you can see how the wiley alpha Soap got his nickname. Soap runs the neighboring livestock farm. Soap specializes in critters big and small, from velvety eared rabbits to towering horses. He prides himself in his work, and his animals usually run best in show for the town's yearly festivals. When not at the farm, Soap can be seen chatting it up at the blacksmith's or having an evening pint at the inn. With a friendly smile and sunkissed skin, could Soap be your first friend??
John Price. Or rather Captain, formerly. John is an alpha that once ran the town's mines with a tight efficiency. Slaying the monsters therein and emerging with jewels and ores a plenty. Since the town's devastating earthquake the mines have since been closed. John stubbornly remains, clearing the mines on his own. Though his ink and coffee scent permeates the artifacts wing of the local museum, a responsibility he shares  with Alex. John is considered an expert in monsters and hidden treasures. During down time John is down at the docks with Farah and Nik.
Simon Ghost Riley. Formerly Price's right hand in the mines, and now the town's blacksmith, Ghost stands tall and aloof. Pale arms lined with scars, and soot stained fingertips. Some say his room is lined with awards for his craft. Ghost can make anything, and is responsible for a lot of specialty items for the whole village, special swords and crossbows for Price. Stronger tools and equipment for Gaz. He doesn't say much to you when you show up, and you assume the mask is to protect his face, though he never takes it off.  What's more odd is the syrupy sweet scent buried under all the brimstone.
Kyle Gaz Garrick. Kyle is a master of his craft and does the bulk of the repairs and renovations around the village. (As well as some of its more charming cosmetics) With the help of Ghost and Price, Gaz is slowly but surely piecing the town back together after the earthquake. Kyle is renown in town for his delicate work and eye for detail. Despite popular beliefs Kyle is a calm and laid back Alpha, with a fresh and citrusy scent that's almost hypnotic. Kyle is one of the first to come to the new farm, providing a few extra tools he had laying around to help you get started. He's ecstatic to have a new face around town!
Nikolai? Nobody seems to know his last name, but he seems to be well liked in town. Nikolai was once a traveling merchant, never staying in one place for too long. He made his way by selling rare and unique wares. Since the earthquake the alpha has settled in town on a more permanent basis. Nik now runs a beautifully crafted bathhouse so those hard workers of the village can rest their weary bones, while still having a handful of new and rare items to sell each week. There seems to be more to the alpha that meets the eye.
Kate Laswell. Kate is the town physician. A no nonsense beta who is chronically scraping townsfolk off the ground when they fail to take care of themselves properly. She's lovely, but so very tired. When Kate isn't at the clinic she assists her wife with running the inn.
Farah is a fisherman extraordinaire, and has been a godsend with getting supplies in and out of the village while the bridges were out. While Farah doesn't brag, tales of her adventures are written on the scars on her toned tanned arms. While goods and services aren't her day to day now, Farah still heads out on her boat each day with Alex in tow.
Alex is responsible for a bulk of the collections at the museum, and when he's not there, he helps Farah out on the docks. In his downtime Alex writes stories down on the well worn pages of his journal. Harrowing tales of a strong and fearless pirate who saves the day again and again. So what if the long braided heroin resembles someone familiar?
(Not sure how deep in the weeds i'll go with this, but I'm having fun, I would love to make it a little series)

Now that we have more info and access, let's talk about Quackity's tools shall we...
On day one, Quackity brings a pair of unenchanted shears and Sam gives him WARDENS WILL and WARDENS HAMMER as well as some item frames (which as an aside I’ve always thought is such an unhinged inclusion…).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thus completing the trifecta of torture tools that we see in the montage later [clip]. :]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But we also know that it doesn’t end there, because in the other 2 visits we get to see he actually doesn’t even use Sam weapons (besides WARDENS TORMENT), so we know there are other undefined tools, which is why it’s so exciting to now be able to see inside chests and inventories because now we can analyze and speculate to kinda determine what those tools might have been and their enchantments (and perhaps the implications of their enchantments)…
So, for starters, in that same montage it also shows Quackity grabbing tools from a room and throwing them on the floor [seen below], which ends up being what looks like 3 neitherite axes, 3 netherite swords, and 1 pair of shears, likely implying that multiple weapons of the same type were also used (further supported by the fact that we see him use both WARDENS HAMMER and a netherite axe with low durability). Tragically, this storage room stocked with netherite weapons doesn’t exist on the map [post] :( so instead I’m gonna determine what I think are the most likely candidates from the chests in the prison, Las Nevdas, Quackity’s inventory and Sam’s inventory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I’m gonna assume that 1 of the 3 axes thrown on the ground and 1 of the 3 swords are WARDENS HAMMER and WARDENS WILL, because there are not enough reasonable or qualifying sword or axe options in the locations we have to look at (this of course all based on the assumption that they aren’t in this storage room on the other map they filmed it on or didn’t have Mending and broke).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second axe dropped I’m gonna say is the one with low durability seen in both the streams where he tries to get Dream to write the letter and the one with Techno later, which matches the one in Quackity’s ender chest with Efficiency V and mending. This axe is pretty interesting for the fact that is does not have sharpness on it, perhaps that is because that does too much damage. It’s low durability makes a lot of sense based on the lack of Unbreaking, and the Mending actually confirms what I had already theorized based off of the bottles of enchanting in his inventory when he visits rivals duo, which certainly has some implications about how much he used this axe to the point he needed to mend it mid session…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the 2 axes, we see a sword and again I’m gonna just say this is WARDENS WILL. The last axe I’m gonna say is most likely the one in Quackity’s inventory with Efficiency V, Fortune III, Mending, Sharpness V, Unbreaking III. This one has much more durability, perhaps because of the Unbreaking or because we don’t see it in the visits we get, maybe because it has Sharpness V he doesn’t use it as much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second sword I’m gonna say is also one from his inventory called SPIDER MASTER 2000 with Bane of Arthropods V, Fire Aspect, Unbreaking III, and Mending. Based on the name and Arthropods, this sword was likely made for the purpose of farming xp in the spider farm, but I’d say it’s not unreasonable to think Quackity used it for other things too. Makes me wonder if that Athropods enchantment has any strange effect on a person. And don’t even get me started on the Fire Aspect. :]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The third sword I’m gonna say is this one in a chest in the prison with Knockback II, Looting III, Mending, Sharpness V, Sweeping Edge III, and Unbreaking III, for 2 reasons 1) the chest it is in includes building items such as Quartz and Smooth Stone [highlighted in yellow] which are not present in the prison but are in multiple areas of Las Nevadas and 2) It has full durability, but has Mending to explain that unlike the other nethrite swords in the prison (minus the Guard Sword, which I doubt he let Q use) and Sam’s inventory, all with high durability. Perhaps we could make up some reason like perhaps using the Sweeping Edge or Knockback to explain the full durability and why it’s in a chest in the prison. Perhaps it is Sam’s sword but Quackity was miss using it or the enchantments on it made it too dangerous or something, so Sam made him heal it and return it. Maybe that’s why he stops giving Quackity his Warden weapons too… who knows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we see a pair of unenchanted shears, which we see him with in his first visit and the one with rivals duo. Give that shears durability doesn’t last long in general and that these are unenchanted, it’s probably reasonable to say that he perhaps broke and brought multiple pairs of unenchanted shears so to pin down the specific pair isn’t great, but we do see a pair in a hidden chest under the Needle in Las Nevadas (and irl wise it’s not like they did 80 scenes of torture so this could technically be the pair from the rivals duo stream (and maybe even the first visit)). Especially since it also has a pair of iron pants and an enchanted diamond sword like we see in his inventory during that stream. An enchanted diamond sword also appears in the letter visit and I’m gonna say they are both this sword with Sharpness I. It has higher durability than the one seen in the rivals visit, but perhaps he healed it with a diamond or something. This diamond sword is pretty interesting in the fact that it isn’t netherite like the ones shown in the montage, so it also than does less damage, even more so due to the minimum enchantments. Perhaps that’s what makes it such a good option for torture as it doesn’t do too much damage and kill Dream on accident.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the rivals duo visit, we also see WARDENS TORMENT which to my suprise only has Unbreaking III not Mending. We also see an unenchanted diamond pickaxe. Now we could say he only brought the pickaxe with the purpose of getting his revenge or we could take it as a sign that he used pickaxes too outside of just shears, swords and axes. After all, WARDENS WILL BREAKER is the name of Sam’s pickaxe, so surely it was used when trying to break Dream’s will (and if that then perhaps the netherite pickaxe in Quackity’s inventory as well).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Furthermore, when Quackity runs into George outside the prison, we see him carrying an enchanted diamond pickaxe likely the same one in his inventory with Fortune II and Unbreaking III, which I’d say can be reasonably assumed to have been used inside the prison (perhaps just for convenience sake). Especially because, also in his inventory at the time is a stack of seeds, which appears in the chest with the enchanted diamond sword and shears which we already determined were likely used.
So, those are all the things we can more reasonably conclude with some reasonings and conclusions definitely stronger than others. Even further though if we wanted to really start to theorize, there is an also an argument to be made (that I’ve actually highlighted before [posts - <> <>]) that if he uses pickaxes why not also shovels? And hoes? And maybe even one of Sam tridents, perhaps WARDENS MERCY with Channeling [post]? [potential weapons used highlighted in red] I don’t know, it’s really mostly all theoretical but fun to think about anyways, I mean we do have Quackity’s comment in the letter visit, “I’ll show you which one I’ll use this time around.” [clip] and Dream’s comment to Foolish, “Sam, you know, let him in the prison, let him bring in tools—and shears, and they tried to torture the revive book out of me…” [clip] which does somewhat support the reasoning for more variety of tools. After all, why doesn’t Dream say weapons and shears? Seems to me like you’d use tools to include the shears, cuz swords and axes are just weapons. (We can obviously explain this away for many reason but that’s besides the point). Plus I mean based off of what Dream said in Daedalus as noted we tend to like to reasonably assume a knife and chair was involved (further supported by ccSam if we chose to believe his unhinged comments lol XD), and that certainly opens the door for other things…

So the traditional image of Death always contains the same basic elements. A skeleton, a long black cloak, a scythe. The line "Death is a farmer" came to my mind and I can't get rid of it... ANYWAYS. So this is what Death looks like
Tumblr media
But it got me thinking.
I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that a scythe was a tool that was in very common usage for harvesting at the time of their creation, so that was the implement their image was given. However, farming tech has improved since then, and I have to wonder if Death didn't keep up with the times. Is it possible that their tool is different now?
Perhaps death now holds a weed whacker
Tumblr media
Then again, they might be partial the shape and feel of their old tool. Maybe Death now uses one of those chainsaws on a pole?
Tumblr media
Then again, it's not just farming that has changed since Deaths first go round. The population of earth has increased DRASTICALLY since then. All I am saying is that maybe Death has had to update to something more efficient for such a large workload?
Tumblr media
Maybe?

A Tiny World - 2
CoD - 141 x Snail (OC/Fem!Reader)
SYNOPSIS : Stardew Valley time with Snail, Gaz and Price.
Warnings : None. But please read the Author’s Note below.
Author’s Note : Snail is an OC that can be read as a Fem!Reader - I do my best no to describe her too much, but may sometimes say that she’s small (height) and has long hair.
I do not give anyone permission to re-publish and/or translate my work, be it here or on any other platform, including AI.

A Little Snail Under the Rain - Masterlist
Tumblr media
Aside from Animal Crossing, Snail really likes playing Stardew Valley.
Actually, scratch that. She loves it.
She bought the guide to make sure her farm is as efficient as possible. She planned it all thoroughly, from the kind she chose at the very beginning, to the animals and crops she wanted the have, where she would put them, and so on.
She’s got a part of her land fully dedicated to mystic trees associated with mushroom logs, because it wouldn’t be her farm if she didn’t make a gargantuan amount of profit based on them mushies.
The chickens, ducks and dinosaurs are all on one side of the road situated at the bottom of her farm, while the cows, goats and pigs are on the other side. All the tools she needs to make cheese, mayonnaise and dried resources are placed right next to each other, not far from the ponds. All the products she makes are close to a selling box, so she can sell everything right after collecting it.
She’s working really hard to offer tons of void mayonnaise to Kroby so she can ask them to be her roommate. For now, she’s got a cat named Mochi that’s always sleeping on her bed and proudly wears a green top hat she got on St Patrick’ Day.
Believe it or not, Price loves to watch her play. The whole setting of the game reminds him of the time he used to spend at his grandparent’s farm in the English countryside, all those years ago. He remembers helping them with all kind of crops and animals, and running across their land and the nearby village with other children his age. Good, simpler times.
He also has to admit that the way she organises her findings in the museum by colours is extremely satisfying to watch. And seeing her get all excited when she finally finds something new to add to her collection is also pretty endearing.
She also got Gaz to play too !
They help each other out with their farm - they’ve become pros at it, at this point. Both their greenhouses are filled to the brim with ancient fruits, which immediately go into an army of kegs to be brewed into wine. They make plans on how to deals with the upcoming seasons together.
They also switch consoles to help each other with the tasks they like the least. Snail isn’t really fond of going into the mines - she’d rather enjoy the rainy days and go fish and forage all around the game. Kyle, however, enjoys doing challenges into the mine more that running around trying to look for resources. So they efficiently help each other to level up and fill the chests on their farms with everything they need, sprawled on top of each other on their beds in a comfortable silence.
They rule over every single event in the game.
And they absolutely love gossiping about the characters - to the point that other soldiers on base think they’re actually saying mad shit about real people.
They don’t bother correcting them. Their confused faces as they realise they’ve been talking about marrying or divorcing three people in the same week make it all worth it.
It gets a good chuckle out of the team.

Why SBJ Nirmal L Type 14x57 Rotary Hoe/Blade is the Ideal Choice for Farmers
When it comes to preparing soil and ensuring crops have the best start possible, farmers know that quality tools make all the difference. The right rotary Hoe/Blade can mean the difference between smooth soil preparation and days of unnecessary struggle. That’s where SBJ Nirmal L Type 14x57 Rotary Hoe/Blade comes in. With its efficient design and high-quality materials, this blade is made to withstand the challenges of modern farming. Let’s dig deeper into why this blade is so special and what sets it apart in the world of agricultural tools.
What is a Rotary Hoe/Blade, and Why is it Important?
A rotary Hoe/Blade is a critical part of a rotavator, a piece of farming equipment used to break up and aerate the soil. In simple terms, a rotary Hoe/Blade spins into the ground, digging up soil to prepare it for planting. This process helps improve soil structure, aerates it for plant roots, and controls weeds—all vital aspects for healthy crop growth.
The L-shaped design of the SBJ Nirmal 14x57 blade makes it especially effective at penetrating soil. Its unique shape allows the blade to dive deep into the ground with each pass, giving a more thorough till. Whether you’re dealing with compact, rocky, or sandy soil, this blade is built to handle it. Many farmers appreciate this blade because of its ability to handle different soil types without losing efficiency.
Made from Boron Steel: Built to Handle Tough Jobs
One standout feature of SBJ Nirmal L Type 14x57 Rotary Hoe/Blade is the boron steel material it’s crafted from. For those unfamiliar with boron steel, it’s a high-strength steel alloy that includes a small amount of boron. This might seem like a minor addition, but that tiny amount of boron gives the steel incredible strength, hardness, and durability. Farmers benefit from boron steel because it makes the blade tough enough to withstand harsh soil conditions.
Here’s a bit more on boron steel’s advantages:
High Hardness and Strength: Boron gives steel an extra level of hardness and wear resistance. Since farming equipment often takes a lot of punishment, this extra hardness is a huge plus, meaning less wear and fewer replacements.
Resistance to Abrasive Soils: In areas with rocky or gritty soil, blades can wear down fast. Boron steel holds up well against abrasive materials, allowing it to dig deeper and last longer than standard steel.
Great Flexibility: Even though it’s hard and strong, boron steel maintains a level of flexibility. This balance is crucial since overly rigid materials can break under heavy stress, but boron steel can bend without snapping.
With boron steel, SBJ Nirmal blade provides a mix of strength and endurance that most standard blades lack. Farmers who use it report longer life spans for their blades, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
Powder Coating: Protecting the Blade Against Rust and Wear
On top of using durable boron steel, SBJ Nirmal adds a powder coating to its L Type 14x57 Rotary Hoe/Blade. This is a special process where a powder made of resin, pigment, and other particles is applied to the blade’s surface, then heated to form a strong, protective layer. The result is a coating that protects the blade from rust, moisture, and other weather-related damage.
Powder coating is an important feature for a few reasons:
Rust Resistance: As any farmer knows, equipment that stays outdoors is prone to rust. The powder coating provides an extra layer of protection, keeping the blade rust-free and extending its lifespan.
Weatherproofing: From rainy seasons to dry spells, farm equipment faces a range of weather conditions. Powder coating prevents moisture from seeping into the metal, so the blade doesn’t corrode or degrade.
Easy Maintenance: Powder-coated blades are much easier to clean, requiring only a quick rinse to remove dirt or mud. This saves time for busy farmers who want reliable, low-maintenance equipment.
Key Benefits for Farmers Using SBJ Nirmal 14x57 Rotary Hoe/Blade
So, why do farmers trust this particular blade for their rotavators? Here are some of the top reasons this blade has become a popular choice:
Efficient Soil Penetration: The L-type shape is optimized for soil penetration. Its angled edges dig in smoothly, so the blade can handle dense soil without wearing down quickly. This shape also makes it easier to prepare seedbeds with fewer passes, which is a big time-saver.
Versatility Across Soil Types: One major benefit of SBJ Nirmal L Type 14x57 blade is its versatility. Farmers use it successfully on everything from clay-rich soil to sandy ground, as well as rocky areas. This versatility means farmers don’t need different blades for different fields.
Cost-Effective Over Time: Since it’s built to last, this blade is a good investment. The initial cost may be a bit higher than standard blades, but over time, farmers save on replacements and repairs. For those managing large areas or frequent tilling, this long-lasting blade proves especially economical.
Low Maintenance Requirements: With the combination of boron steel and powder coating, this blade is tough and easy to care for. It can handle wet, muddy fields without rusting or degrading, meaning it’s always ready for the next job.
SBJ Nirmal: A Brand Farmers Trust
SBJ Nirmal Products has earned a reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality rotavator parts. The company’s commitment to quality is clear in every part they produce, especially in their L Type 14x57 Rotary Hoe/Blade. They’re known for their consistent focus on durability and performance, ensuring farmers have tools they can rely on year after year.
In the end, SBJ Nirmal L Type 14x57 Rotary Hoe/Blade is an ideal choice for farmers looking to optimize their soil preparation process. It combines strength, resilience, and smart design, all essential features for today’s agricultural needs. By investing in a blade built to last, farmers can spend more time focusing on their crops and less time worrying about tool maintenance.

Cain knew that they’d find him. Didn’t mean he wouldn’t go out without a fight.
The convoy of black SUVs pulled up to Cain’s warehouse where he kept his farm tools, their headlights cutting through the darkness. Doors opened, and figures in dark suits emerged, their movements swift and precise. Cain recognized them instantly—members of the Knights’ elite guard, trained killers, every one of them. They fanned out, securing the perimeter with practiced efficiency. Cain’s heart sank as he realized just how many of them there were. He was outnumbered, outgunned, and outmatched.
But he had something they didn’t—resolve. He had nothing left to lose, and that made him dangerous.
From one of the SUVs, a tall figure stepped out, his presence commanding immediate attention. Asmodeus, a Prince of Hell. His dark hair was slicked back, and his eyes glinted with a malevolent intelligence. He moved with the confidence of a predator, his every step deliberate and controlled.
Cain stepped out of the shadows, his eyes locking onto Asmodeus. The two men stood in silence for a moment, the air thick with tension. Finally, Asmodeus spoke, his voice smooth and cold.
“Cain. It’s been a long time.”
“Not long enough,” Cain replied, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside him. “I should have known you’d come for me eventually.”
“You left us, Cain. You betrayed your brothers. Did you really think we would let that go unpunished?”
“I left because you murdered my family,” Cain said, his voice rising. “Abel was my brother. Collette was my wife. You took them from me.”
Asmodeus smirked, a cruel glint in his eyes. “They were collateral damage. Abel was a threat to our operations, and Collette… well, she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. You know how it works.”
“Collateral damage?” Cain’s hands clenched into fists. “They were everything to me.”
“And now you have nothing,” Asmodeus said, taking a step closer. “Just like you will be after tonight.”
Cain felt the weight of his knife in his hand, the familiar feel of the weapon both comforting and damning. He didn’t want to fight. He had spent so long trying to put this life behind him. But he knew that there was no other way. Asmodeus wouldn’t stop until one of them was dead.
Cain took a deep breath, his mind racing as he prepared for what was to come. He knew he couldn’t take on Asmodeus and his men head-on. He would have to be smart, use the environment to his advantage. The warehouse was a maze of rusting machinery and abandoned crates, a perfect place for a guerrilla fight.
Asmodeus watched him, his eyes calculating. “You don’t have to do this, Cain. You can still come back. The Knights of Hell would welcome you with open arms. You were one of our best.”
“I’ll never be one of you again,” Cain said, his voice firm. “I won’t be part of your twisted world.”
“So be it,” Asmodeus said, his voice icy. He raised his hand, and the men around him drew their weapons. “Kill him.”
Cain moved quickly, ducking behind a stack of crates as gunfire erupted around him. The air was filled with the deafening roar of bullets and the acrid smell of gunpowder. He knew he couldn’t stay in one place for long. He had to keep moving, stay one step ahead.
He darted through the maze of the warehouse, using the shadows and the cover to his advantage. He took down two of Asmodeus’s men with quick, precise strikes, their bodies crumpling to the ground. But for every man he took down, two more seemed to appear. He was getting tired, his movements slowing, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
As he rounded a corner, he came face to face with Asmodeus. The leader of the Knights was waiting for him, his eyes gleaming with a dark satisfaction.
“You can’t win, Cain,” Asmodeus said, his voice low and dangerous. “You’re outnumbered, outmatched. Just give up.”
“Never,” Cain said, his grip tightening on his knife.
Asmodeus smiled, a cold, predatory smile. “Then you’ll die.”
They clashed, the force of their blows sending shockwaves through the air. Cain fought with everything he had, his movements fueled by a desperate determination. But Asmodeus was a skilled fighter, his strikes precise and deadly. They fought through the warehouse, their battle a blur of motion and violence.
Cain could feel his strength waning, his vision starting to blur. He knew he couldn’t keep this up much longer. But he had to try. For Abel. For Collette.
Asmodeus landed a brutal blow to Cain’s ribs, sending him crashing to the ground. Cain struggled to get up, his body screaming in pain. Asmodeus loomed over him, his eyes cold and unfeeling.
“This is the end, Cain,” Asmodeus said, raising his weapon.
Cain looked up at him, his vision swimming. He thought of Abel, of Collette, and a fierce resolve filled him. He wouldn’t let their deaths be in vain.
With a final surge of strength, he lunged at Asmodeus, his knife aimed at the leader’s heart. But Asmodeus was faster. He sidestepped the attack and drove his own blade into Cain’s chest.
Cain gasped, the pain blinding. He fell to the ground, his vision going dark. He could hear Asmodeus’s voice, distant and fading.
“You were a fool, Cain. You should have stayed with us.”
Cain’s last thought was of his brother and his wife, their faces smiling at him. He hoped that, in some way, he had avenged them. As the darkness claimed him, he felt a sense of peace. He had fought for them. That was all that mattered.
Asmodeus stood over Cain’s body, his expression unreadable. He looked down at the man who had once been his brother-in-arms, then turned and walked away.
The Knights of Hell had claimed another victim.

You just wanted a normal Tuesday. That’s all. But then came the barrage of questions.
“Hey, uh, Agent?” Sam’s voice and keen eyes caught your attention as he sipped his coffee. Damn smirk; he knew what he was doing. “What’s the deal with you and my brother?”
Agent Ruby Edwards made a grunt of agreement amid a bite of stale office cake, the other agents humming and saying ‘amen’ in agreement. She swallowed it, huffing out a breath. “I’ve been waiting for someone to ask that- I mean, can you guys get any more sexually frustrated?”
“Sorry, sister, but they’re right.” Agent Lafitte shrugged, looking away as he sipped his coffee. “Tension can be cut with a butter knife.”
“I thought you had my back.” You scoffed, setting your coffee down.
“I made an oath, to tell the truth, the full truth and nothing but the truth-”
“That’s court, not a break room.” You snorted, shaking your head and folding your arms.
“I know that tone of voice.” Agent Meg Masters and Agent Cas Novak walked in, Meg’s smirk on full force. “We’re talking about the hotter Winchester’s thing with our golden girl, right?” She smirked at Sam. “I only say hotter cause he ain’t taken.”
“I’m married, Meg.” Sam huffed like a chastising parent.
“That’s never stopped me before.” A swift wink and a saunter over to the coffee machine had Sam laughing under his breath. Typical Meg. “Anyway, we’re not kidding. Whenever you and Dean are in the same room we’re prepared to run in case you two start rippin’ clothes off.”
The statement made everyone in the room choke on coffee - and in Cas’ sake his own saliva - coughing loudly.
“Not quite so boldly, Agent Masters.” Cas cleared his throat, while Meg looked unfazed.
“I’ll be as bold as I like, Cassie baby.” She winked.
“How do you manage to stay out of HR’s radar?” You spluttered, thanking God you’d kept your mouth shut otherwise you'd have coffee down your shirt.
"Easy." Meg shrugged. "No violations in front of a representative."
"Smart." We all turned to the door to see Nick. And we exchanged looks. Just yesterday Director Singer had gotten wind of how he tried to use the two trainees to get information and was put on indefinite leave. "Avoiding authority, how respectable."
"You shouldn't be here." Sam spoke up, more concerned than angry while Benny slipped off to grab security.
You put your muffin down. Even though you wanted one moment of peace to relax and eat it, you were denied that too.
First Dean's cock, now this.
"Sam, we were friends!" Nick chuckled nervously, knowing that security was coming. "We worked that one case, come on. You guys need me on this cartel case. Come on, you know me! I'm one of your best!"
Security barged in, which had him speaking faster. "You guys benched me, and I need to be out in the field. You don't know what it's like." His arms were seized as he began to be dragged away. "To be sidelined. You don't! None of you know! None of you-"
The door shut behind him.
Tumblr media
You had been working the cartel case with Sam, when you’d gotten a phone call by the hospital. Nick had been admitted after being caught in the crossfire of a bomb blast that hit the Thurgood Marshal Courthouse, and you’d immediately asked Sam to give you a ride. He agreed, and you were hurrying through the halls, reaching the reception.
“Nick Santiago.” You told the front desk receptionist, who nodded and checked the system.
“Relation?” She asked, probably just to check.
“Cousin.” You replied, and then she told you the room number, which was 105. At breakneck speed, you made it into 105 to find Nick.
Oh, Nick.
He was all bandaged up, tainted with angry red burns and on an IV drip. His eyes blearily landed on you, and he smiled faintly. “Don’t look so upset.” Nick’s voice was raspy and hoarse, clearly from the burns covering the expanse of his neck.
“Nicky, what did they do to you?” You whispered, immediately rushing to sit beside him and smoothing back his hair, seeing the burns and wanting nothing more than to soothe them. He was your older cousin - but he was more a brother - and it killed you to see him like this.
“Attack on the President.” He coughed, clearing his throat, and you helped him drink some water. “I was part of the recommended personnel as he was givin’ a speech. Found the bomb, got him out, but I-I couldn’t get myself.”
You instantly felt anger boil. Not cause of the attack on the President, but the blast felt personal. “Do you know who did this?”
“Some guy called Azazel.” Nick wheezed, and you helped him drink more water, a small grunt of relief coming from him. “It was a suicide bomber. Willing. They yelled- they yelled ‘for Azazel’ and then pressed the damn switch. So I shielded the President.”
You rubbed your cheek, feeling the pressure build up in your mind. First Nick Garrison. Now Nick Santiago. You got news that Cain - or William Abernathy - was dead as well.
Less pressing problems being Dean Winchester and your family dinner that was now postponed because of Nick.
“You were so brave.” You whispered, sighing and closing your eyes for a moment, willing your brain not to burst or collapse.
“Agent?” Your attention was diverted by Sam, who had his eyes on the TV. “Announcement from President.”
All eyes were on the TV as President Shirley stepped out onto a podium, and had Dean and Director Singer as part of his security detail, everyone keeping an eye out for possible assassins. You assumed that they’d done a bomb sweep. President Chuck Shirley was a rather squirrel-esque politician, with a beard and a liking for suits that made him look broader than he actually was.
‘Before I get into the gruesome details, I’d like to thank a man who couldn’t make it today.’ Shirley spoke into the mic, clearing his throat. ‘Detective Sergeant Nick Santiago of the NYPD. An incredible cop who was part of my security detail and saved me from the brunt force of the suicide bombing. He’s now in hospital, but I’d like to give him all my gratitude, because if not, I would not be on this podium.’
“Yeah, I better be getting my thanks.” Nick chuckled hoarsely, his dry humour present despite being on a truckload of painkillers. “Throw in a Medal of Honour while you’re at it.”
‘Now, onto the suicide bombing at the Marshall building in New York.’ Shirley suddenly turned serious, the crowd going silent after a round of applause for Nick- as if that would fix anything. ‘It was a senseless act of violence, and we’re receiving rapid details from the FBI on the situation. I advise everyone not to panic, as we have America’s best people on the job and they will not stop until the organiser of this is behind bars.’
You wanted to throw the remote at the TV, but you refrained. You knew the name. Azazel. When John Winchester was your CO, he’d been heading the case with you and Dean. It had come up briefly. In a voicemail, a nobody ever figured out what it meant. Now you knew Azazel was a person. You looked to Sam, who gestured to talk outside, so you assured Nick and obliged, moving outside with him.
“This is all Biblical stuff.” Sam sighed, sweeping a hand over his mouth. “Satanic cultists, maybe?”
You shook your head with a sigh. “Not likely. I saw Abaddon’s footage. These are just pure maniacs taking inspiration off the damn Bible. Azazel’s a Prince of Hell.”
“So, what are we even looking at? Pure homicidal and organised stuff?” Sam asked, raising an eyebrow and folding his arms.
“Probably.” You nodded. “Or there’s some grand scheme in motion. I don’t know, but we’re gonna have to think of some plausible way. I’ll contact Dean after his detail gig.” The name got a snicker out of Sam, and you raised an eyebrow. “What? What is it?”
“Sorry, just can’t get the… images… out of my head.” He laughed, which had you swatting his shoulder and him letting out a mock gasp. “Hey, blows hurt!”
“You shut up. You saw nothing.”
“Oh, I saw a lot more than nothing.”
“What do you want in return for your silence?”
“Advice.” He shot back immediately, rubbing his chin. “Y’know how Jess and I, second kid on the way, right?”
You nodded, folding your arms and nodding. “Yeah, Sam, I know. We’re all real happy for you, so what’s this about?”
“I wanna take her out on a date. But a special one, not just a normal movie night.” He shrugged, thinking about how this was incredibly unprofessional but not really caring because hey, his wife’s hormones were on the line. Sam didn’t want to risk that at any cost.
“Beach date.” You shrugged, smiling. “At night. Set up some fairy lights, some champagne. Jess would like that.”
“Is that your dream date or something?” Sam chuckled, surprised at how quick that came.
You shook your head with a smile. “Nah. My perfect date is stay in, cook with said significant other and watch a rom com while eating the food. Never done it, but always wanted to try it.”
“Romantic.” He smirked, raising his eyebrow. “And here I thought you were too focused on your work.”
“Just cause I play by the rule book doesn’t make me a workaholic.” You snorted, but the way he just laughed and walked back into the hospital room had you slumping and muttering Spanish curses to yourself.
Damn.
“Carajo!”
Tumblr media
“A direct attack on the President.” Director Singer muttered, pacing while the organised crime team were crowded in the briefing room with him. “Our security was airtight that day. Airtight. Someone knew the weaknesses of the structure. Someone did, in order to send that bomber in.”
Another few bits of pressure. Finding out who sent the bomber. Who Azazel was. Dean staring at you from the other side of the room with barely disguised heat in his eyes.
And yet, your fingers drummed on the table, feeling almost dizzy in this damn room. The baggage that came with this job. But you’d taken it time and time again.
Why not now?
“We’ll find Azazel, sir.” You spoke up, your mind running wild with unwanted and very much wanted thoughts. “We already have witness accounts being reported back to the office, we'll scan through those and see if anyone can identify an anomaly or an unknown face."
"I've got tech squad hijacking the footage and all texting slash social media communications prior, on the time and after the attack." Dean added, clicking his pen but not taking notes.
"Good." Director Singer nodded, a little pacified. "I need this Azazel in the Supermax with Abaddon stat."
Tumblr media
Your cousin Anita's quinceañera. What could possibly go wrong?
"Please tell me the food's spicy." Dean chuckled in your ear, fixing the lapels of his suit. He was your plus one since Lucia wouldn't shut up about wanting to see him again. Therefore, you had to bring him.
You let out a small sigh. "Not why we're here."
"I know, it's a quinceañera, but a guy can indulge." At the moment he stopped speaking, Nick, now healed enough to walk, came hobbling in with a stick to keep him up. Everyone cheered and clapped, while Nick's fiancée, Emilia, who he met in the force, wasn't far behind.
"There he is!" You heard from multiple bellowing men, along with laughter. Your dad, Ernesto and Anita's dad all sounded like they were from one boombox when with each other.
"Empanadas, sir, ma'am?" A server came by with a tray, and while you refused, Dean had a look over.
"Don't mind if I do." Dean chuckled, picking up one and taking a bite, groaning in appreciation. "Spanish food and Indian food are the best. Mm, yeah." He was speaking through a mouthful, and you were fighting the urge to smile.
Instead, you rolled your eyes.
Nick hobbled over, extending his hand to Dean. "Dean, nice to see you again, pal."
"Back atcha, Nick." Dean shook Nick’s hand with a smile, and Nick didn’t miss the way Dean’s eyes travelled to you and your dress for the occasion; a blue dress with thin straps, hair in an elegant bun and the hem of the dress stopping at your mid-thigh.
Ah. So he has a crush on his baby cousin. Nick would have some fun with that.
“Hey, sweetie.” Rick smiled as he came up to you, hugging you and then giving Nick a pat on the shoulder. “Nicky.” Then he saw Dean, and his eyebrow raised to his hairline. “Who’s this young fellow?”
You looked between Dean and your dad, clearing your throat. “Dad, this is Dean Winchester. I work with him at the Bureau.”
Dean immediately jumped into action upon hearing that - damn, he’s your dad - and put his hand out with the most charming and unassuming grin he could muster. “Nice to meet you, sir.”
“You too. Name’s Richard, but call me Rick.” There was a wide smile on Rick’s face. Good. He seemed to have a good impression of Dean.
“Oh, Ricardo!” Eleanor trilled, calling Rick by his dubbed Spanish name since they were ‘in Spanish company and he needed to blend in’. “Come on, Cassie’s already started her meal. You too.” She took Rick’s wrist, and with an apologetic look to Dean, you followed, only to find Cassie eating… a salad?
“This is her meal?” You asked, frowning slightly, just testing the waters before you jumped to conclusions.
“Yes, it is.” Eleanor nodded, which had you swallowing, looking down at the minimal plate of salad. “Problems?”
“Why wouldn’t there be?” You folded your arms, scoffing and gesturing to the plate. Cassie was hunched over it, diligently eating the insufficient food with a meek look on her face. Is this what happens when you weren’t there? “That’s not food. That’s barely sustenance.”
Eleanor waved you off, and Dean picked up on your anger from across the room, looking over with a confused expression but seeing that there was about to be a showdown between two angry Latina women. He looked to Nick with a raised eyebrow and flick of his eyes. Wanna intervene?
Nick shook his head subtly in response with widened eyes. Not until it’s absolutely necessary. They scare the crap out of me.
Dean nodded in response, seeing the truth in Nick’s ‘words’. Touché.
“Mom.” You painfully kept your voice level. Not wanting to raise your voice at your own mother, because even if she was a nasty piece of work - in your eyes - she still carried you for nine months. “This is unreasonable.”
Understatement of the Year award goes to you. Hopefully, also the Daughter and Sister of the Year awards too.
“What I do in my household is none of your business, niña!” Eleanor snapped back, her fingers too for emphasis. You felt familiar anger bubbling, but you told it not today.
You scoffed at the notion, though, rubbing Cassie’s shoulder. “You’re practically starving her!” Still shoving down unadulterated fury. “And pressuring her to have kids. Hell, I haven’t. I’m not even married.”
“You should be!” She responded quickly. Does this lady not get the point? “You should be married, bringing honour to your family.”
“You’re delusional.”
"I'm realistic." Your mom snapped back, and, with a chuckle, Dean decided to step in, while Nick saluted him (he could lose a very brave soldier today). Dean took your shoulders, effectively stopping you from lunging at your mom.
“Hey, ladies, relax.” He smiled, waving a dismissive hand. “We can deal with this later. There’s drinks, empanadas, flan. And, uh, let the kid eat what she wants, eh?” Dean gestured to Cassie, and out of slight shame at her diet restriction being noticed by someone outside of her family, Eleanor nodded and let Cassie take what she wanted, the latter shooting a thankful look to you and Dean.
You stared at Eleanor, and you raised a trembling finger. Dean half had to brace himself to tackle you to the floor and crumple the suit Sam picked out for him. “Treat her like your daughter. Not your project. At least rectify that mistake that you made with me.”
Dean was about to pat you on the shoulder, impressed that you’d kept your cool, but then he saw a man. Tall, wearing a white suit and leading an entourage of people in black suits and dangerous pistols.
“Moderate them, Abraxas.” He muttered to one of them, and as everyone screamed and got down, you and Dean took out your assigned handguns, flicking off the safety.
“Abraxas is a Knight.” You whispered to Dean, and he got the hint. You held them up, aiming them at the man in white and a Southern accent even though about six were aimed at you.
“Calm down, you two, I only bear a message.” The mysterious man spoke in a drawl that made you want to blow it out. Any way to get out this damn stress. “From Azazel. Leave this case alone, fellas. It’s far out of your… jurisdiction.”
“Y’know,” Dean spoke up, “when a member of the mafia tells us to jump, we don’t ask how high. We just ice their ass.”
“This is no ordinary mafia.” The dude chuckled, shaking his head. “This… is Hell. It’ll do you good not to meddle.”
“And who are you to order us around?” You asked, gun still held up as a warning.
“Asmodeus, dear.” ‘Asmodeus’ grinned, then gestured to his soldiers. “Fall back. But…” He looked straight at you, “this is my last warning. Next time, I’ll tell ‘em to open fire-”
“I think you’re mistaken.” You cut in coldly. “I’m talking. You’re not in control, I am. And I’m ordering you to get your hands behind your goddamn back.” Then they were gone, and you and Dean exchanged a look.
Direct threat. But it was majorly empty.
Tumblr media
Dean stepped out of the shower with a sigh, lodged in a hotel room in Beverly Hills as there was a lead on Azazel that you and him needed to follow. He had a towel around his waist, hung low on his hips while he towelled the last droplets of water out of his hair. And then he looked to you, and you were staring.
Not necessarily at the droplets of water running down the planes of muscle decorating his torso, no, but his face. With an angry stare that he knew all too well where it came from. And Dean could tell that you’d been staring at the door of the shower, waiting for him to come out.
So he threw down the towel on the desk chair, turning to you and throwing up his arms. “Alright. Start goin’ off at me.”
“Why did you stop me?!” You burst out, scoffing and running an agitated hand through your hair, pacing. Yep, there it is. Dean nodded, slightly proud of his ability to sense what was going through your head. “I was literally about to take her head off.”
“At your cousin’s fifteenth birthday.” He reasoned with his hands on his hips. You tried to keep your eyes off the way his biceps rippled as he did, or the very obvious trail of his v-line down beneath his towel. “If anything, I did you a solid.”
“You’re… infuriating!” You shook your hands out in front of you, still pacing while Dean’s eyebrow raised higher and higher on his forehead, running the risk of disappearing above his hairline. “You’re not making any of this stress better-”
That made him bristle. “How am I doing that?!”
You scoffed, gripping at the roots of your hair. “You are every reason why this is happening. I value my job. Except we got caught making out in your office by your brother- a miracle he didn’t tell HR. Not to mention Cain got murdered, I had to watch Abbadon disembowel someone’s corpse on video, fuckin’ POTUS got attacked and my cousin was the one who saved that squirrelly piece of shit, this dude called Azazel is out there and now there’s an Asmodeus and an Abraxas, and I’m sick and tired of all the-”
You were cut off abruptly by Dean’s hand gripping your wrist, spinning you and yanking you into his chest. That hand gripping your hip, the other tangling in your hair and angling your head back.
His lips crashing down onto yours.
Tumblr media
NEXT UP:
“The mole.” Dean panted, holding his hand to his side. “Probably compromised our position. You need to go get ‘em, sweetheart.” He grunted, unable to move much. You were torn between staying and leaving, but he chuckled. “I can see the cogs. Go. Now.”
Your job’s duty was right there, with the rapidly retreating figure of Asmodeus. But it was also with protecting your colleague, so you took off your jacket, gesturing for Sam to move in on Asmodeus and begin chase, while Benny, Cas, Meg and Ruby headed to secure a perimeter.
Rolling up your sleeves, you took a look at Dean, gently removing his hands and checking for his signs of consciousness. “You’re gonna have to keep talking, ok?” You paused, and then chuckled. “As if you had any trouble with that before.”
The comment got a laugh and a shake of Dean’s head, huffing. “Smartass.” He coughed slightly. “I’ll fuck that attitude out of you when m’healed up.”
“Trust me, counting on it.” You grinned.

Why do we reblog/send in asks with feedback?
This tends to make the author more invested in writing their own series.
If they think ‘hey, people actually like what I’ve written and are writing small paragraphs/quoting my story and writing lengthy paragraphs on how they feel’ then they’re more likely to put more fics and chapters out for you.
I’d really appreciate it if y’all do that and the same goes for any other writer on here. Reblogs are worth a lot more than likes on here!

Laurance Zvahl Headcannons (MCD)
My baby, my icon, my Laur Laur (the bestest man of my rewrite)
• I think Laurances speech patterns and the manner in which he speaks would be altered after becoming a shadow knight. Human Laurance would be a very energetic speaker, maybe not when discussing important matters - however he spoke louder and more quickly then current day him. While shadow knights are of course more emotional when it comes to outbursts, I see them as reserved when speaking. I think while Laurance would explain things the same way as prior - the matter in how he sounds and speaks would be dialed back as a shadow knight.
• very knowledgable on nature and animals. Being raised in meteli, which has a grand farming culture, he would know the ins and outs of crops and livestock and training horses. He’s very connected to the outdoors unlike others who would be more repulsed to it because of their culture (ie O’Khasians)
• Laurance has an untraditional fighting skill. Being raised by many parental figures throughout time, he picks and chooses what skills to leave behind and what skills to carry over. Meteli isn’t seen as a respectable village nor a too swordsmanship one - so Laurance is one of a kind. After becoming a shadow knight, his movements are smoother and quicker, not too unnatural looking but much more efficient than a human counterpart’s skills would be.
• very fond of children as a human, he wanted a family so he could be the father he never had (not that he had any resentment toward his father figures, but he wanted to always be there for his kids). However, after becoming a shadow knight, he did a 180 and became more afraid of having children or raising them. Since shadow knights in my personal Headcannons have a slim chance of having kids, this reassured him because he didn’t want to accidental harm a child if he had one.
• Due to the aura shadow knights have in my head cannon, his flirting became much smoother and he was able to swoon more people than prior, because shadow knights are so attractive (icons)
• very knowledgable about sailing. Pirate Laurance (imagine) but he is very knowledgable about navigation and battles on sea.
• His reading skills aren’t the best. Because meteli is a small place, like Phoenix drop - these villages lack the tools necessary to ensure amazing reading such as O’Khasis. He’s not illiterate by any means but he definitely doesn’t read as smoothly like Garroth or Aphmau.
• Hot (I’m sorry)

Electricity consumption at US data centers alone is poised to triple from 2022 levels, to as much as 390 terawatt hours by the end of the decade, according to Boston Consulting Group. That’s equal to about 7.5% of the nation’s projected electricity demand. “We do need way more energy in the world than we thought we needed before,” Sam Altman, chief executive officer of OpenAI, whose ChatGPT tool has become a global phenomenon, said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland last week. “We still don’t appreciate the energy needs of this technology.” For decades, US electricity demand rose by less than 1% annually. But utilities and grid operators have doubled their annual forecasts for the next five years to about 1.5%, according to Grid Strategies, a consulting firm that based its analysis on regulatory filings. That’s the highest since the 1990s, before the US stepped up efforts to make homes and businesses more energy efficient. It’s not just the explosion in data centers that has power companies scrambling to revise their projections. The Biden administration’s drive to seed the country with new factories that make electric cars, batteries and semiconductors is straining the nation’s already stressed electricity grid. What’s often referred to as the biggest machine in the world is in reality a patchwork of regional networks with not enough transmission lines in places, complicating the job of bringing in new power from wind and solar farms. To cope with the surge, some power companies are reconsidering plans to mothball plants that burn fossil fuels, while a few have petitioned regulators for permission to build new gas-powered ones. That means President Joe Biden’s push to bolster environmentally friendly industries could end up contributing to an increase in emissions, at least in the near term. Unless utilities start to boost generation and make it easier for independent wind and solar farms to connect to their transmission lines, the situation could get dire, says Ari Peskoe, director of the Electricity Law Initiative at Harvard Law School. “New loads are delayed, factories can’t come online, our economic growth potential is diminished,” he says. “The worst-case scenario is utilities don’t adapt and keep old fossil-fuel capacity online and they don’t evolve past that.”

"50 wordless ways to say I love you"
47. staying up half the night to finish a game with them. word count: 1431 author's note: this was really fun to write because i had to remember the steps to beating the ender dragon. (im not a gamer im sorry) (also since you guys aren't speedrunning you don't finish the game)
Tumblr media
It’s 10 pm when you have the amazing idea to start a new minecraft world. When you propose the idea, Kyle laughs, not believing you to be serious at first. The two of you are all ready for bed, his hat discarded and curls loose. However, when you scoot to the end of your bed, turning on your console, he follows suit, sitting right beside you. (The both of you ignore the heat in your face as your legs brush against one another.)
“Minecraft is a game that Ike likes.” Kyle teases, as the familiar soundtrack fills your room.
“Shut up. You mentioned never beating it before. We conquer The End tonight.” You swiftly respond, one of your elbows reaching for Kyle’s ribs. He takes the hit, before recovering quickly, nudging you back into your original spot on the bed.
“The End?” Kyle asks, watching as you make the new world. He smiles a bit when you title it with the two of your initials. You’re cute, he thinks, allowing the thought to simmer before he tries to forget about it.
“It’s where the Ender Dragon lives. You’ll catch on, you’re smart.” You explain, handing him a controller. “You’re going to be the little guy on the bottom half of the screen.”
Kyle doesn’t mention how he’s used to focusing on the upper half, allowing you to teach him the strings. It’s not like he hasn’t played the game before, again it was one Ike enjoyed a lot when they were younger. Ike just never cared to do much other than terrorize villagers and pick flowers.
The game loads up, and the two of you are in a spruce biome. You’re quick to start chopping down wood, and Kyle simply follows in your footsteps. Kyle is impressed with how swift and efficient you are, getting enough wood to make a full set of wooden tools. When you ask for his wood, he has no hesitation in giving it to you, kindly thanking you as you craft his tools too.
“Wanna explore for a bit? We’ll need to go mining at some point but we don’t need to rush the game.” You explain, leaning closer to him. (Kyle doesn’t know if it’s subconscious or not, but he doesn’t move much after that, scared you’ll realize and drift away.)
Kyle’s character mostly follows your character around. You continue to mine at blocks vital to progressing the game — more wood, surface coal, cobblestone — as you guys escape the forest. Playing the game with you is much more relaxing, even if Kyle isn’t making much of the decisions. Not that he minds, really, as it is similar to how Ike would play. If anything, the only reason it’s so tolerable is because he’s playing with you.
The two of you find a village around 11, the hour of exploring feeling like minutes as the two of you wondered around. Kyle watches as you steal from their farms, their chests, and destroys their hay; he can’t feel pity for the villagers with their silly design. Notably, you share the loot with Kyle, not keeping all the nicer items for yourself. It’s almost second nature, to give him the iron pickaxe you found. Kyle leans in closer; you don’t move even as his shoulder brushes.
Before venturing into the mines, you suggest stealing two villagers beds to set your spawn point just incase one of you were to die. Two yellow beds are placed down together, in the middle of a plains biome. Kyle doesn’t comment on your deliberate placement of your bed next to his. He does have to pause to take a sip of his water, face on fire. (It’s just a video game. One he’s playing with you, one he’s enjoying despite the open world. He wonders if you are picking up on his internal struggles, or if you are too focused on the game.)
Hours pass, and the two of you have made more progress than Kyle ever has. You guide him through getting enough diamonds to craft a pickaxe in order to make a portal to the Nether; he wasn’t even aware of the other dimension until you explained it to him.
Despite being prone to raging whenever he dies in game, he doesn’t care when a blaze burns him to a crisp. He watches as your character gets his stuff — “it’ll despawn, I promise to give it back” — and hides in a corner, waiting for him to safely get back to you. He thinks of playing with his friends, who in comparison, would’ve kept his stuff joyfully, and smiles down at you.
You have to get enough blaze rods to get to The End — five, preferably. Once you have that you get to leave the dreaded dimension. As you enter the portal, you show your first signs of exhaustion, yawning and reaching up to rub at your eyes, and Kyle looks up to see it’s one in the morning.
“Hey it’s getting late. Do you want to head to bed?” Kyle’s voice is soft, peering down at you with such genuineness you can’t stare at him long.
“No, I’m okay. Let’s keep going. We still have to get ender pearls.” You mumble, voice clearly affected from your tired state.
Enderpearls come from Enderman, Kyle learns as the two of you wait for it to be night. In comparison to the five blaze rods, you need 12 eyes. Just in case, you’ll never know how many spots are full at the portal. (You explain things to him with such passion, despite being exhausted. Your hands wave slightly, and Kyle has to take the control from your lap to prevent it from falling. He’s never cared so much about Minecraft.)
Kyle’s first Enderman kills him, coming from behind. You conviently left out how they teleport, and watching him stumble around has you giggling with delirium. Purposely, this time, you lean closer, head tucked against Kyle’s arm. He can feel your laughter, and doesn’t mind being the source of your amusement. As he respawns, he shifts a bit, to allow you to fit better.
You yawn again, and after a moment, a second time. Your character is not moving as efficiently as it once was, and although you haven’t died, you aren’t fighting the mobs either. Kyle is doing most of the work, and almost is cocky with how smooth he can kill Creepers without them blowing either of you up.
At 2:48, you guys finally have gathered 12 pearls. Enderman spawn less frequently than other mobs, thus making it harder to hunt them down. Over the hour you have continued to sink into the warm of Kyle’s hoodie. If it was the morning, with people to witness, he thinks he would be a flustered mess. With the world asleep, it feels right to have you at his side; no one awake to argue with him.
Your character has stopped moving, and Kyle peers down to see if you’re asleep, too. Slowly, you blink up at him, confirmation of your (barely) consciousness. Kyle grins, and pressing a kiss to your forehead comes naturally. A sleepy grin appears on your face, but you don’t say anything. You don’t need to.
When the sun rises in the game, Kyle takes your controller to save the game. Your grip too weak to have any fight, and once the game finishes saving, he turns off the TV. Kyle yawns too, stretching as he stands for the first time in hours. You can barely keep yourself up, and once Kyle’s joints are no longer stiff, he helps guides you back up against your pillows.
“We didn’t get to the End.” You mumble into the comforter, shifting around to create space in your bed for him. He slides in, perfectly designed for the other half of your mattress.
“We can play another day.” Kyle murmurs, pushing hair from your forehead. Your eyes are shut now, and Kyle can’t help but smile from the simple domesticity of it all.
“Thanks for staying up with me.” You cuddle closer, those words acting as your goodnight as you can no longer force yourself to stay awake.
Kyle doesn’t say anything for a moment, yawning himself as he finally lets himself feel exhaustion from being up until three AM.
He tries to think of something romantic to say, like they would in the movies, but he doesn’t need to. The arm he curls around your waist, the way he eases into your mattress, and the relaxed look on his face tells it all.
