Bugtober 2024- Day 31: 5 Years

So this is more of a bonus as yesterday was the last one I’d drawn in October. This prompt was first used for a banner contest in the Bug Fables Discord around the end of September and this was my entry for it!

I did plan on actually drawing something for this, but my mind drew a bit of a blank and I realised I hadn’t posted this yet. ^^;

I like to think that Eeta might've loved Pale (Inna's dad) tbh. It would make sense to me.

She and him had Inna together, she cared for both- and before going to AREPH and also having Inna, both her and Pale had history together! They both saved each other from things they didn't want, etc etc. but then when she turned 30, honestly she just-

He sees them come and go, and can’t help but feel a little wistful whenever he catches sight of them. Teams are often close, of course – by the very nature of the job, you need to rely on each other if you want to survive. But Team Snakemouth’s bond feels special in a way he can’t really describe; it’s in the gentle curve of Vi’s small, happy smile when she thinks no one is looking. It’s in the unapologetic confidence with which Leif drops his usual calm façade whenever he’s challenged to some silly game. It’s in the way Kabbu no longer recklessly charges into danger, and instead trusts the other two to stay safe and have his back. Eetl only knows as much as they’re willing to tell him, but he sees them often, and he’s seen how they’ve grown, with and around each other. He’s happy for them, but some part of him, silently, envies their closeness. He wonders, sometimes, where he went wrong with Div.

For all that Eetl is around a lot of bugs all the time, he doesn't seem to have that many close friends, does he? :')

Swapped Fables Thoughts That I Don't Currently Feel Like Drawing But Do Currently Feel Like Talking About: Eetl and his gang aren't just Bandits, but Pirates!

Basically, Chapter 3 involves sailing to the Wasp Kingdom and meeting with them before going to the Swamplands to discuss with their allies, the Leafbugs, and getting the Artifact from them (so Chapter 3's Dungeon wouldn't be a factory on lockdown, but rather a jungle where the wildlife are frenzied on account of the Boss causing a ruckus).

With that said, Chapter 4 wouldn't be about exploring the Lost Sands (those would be mostly off-limits on account of all the Bee Kingdom Robots), but rather exploring the Metal Lake! And while you're out you'd be getting encounters with Eetl and his band of pirates. Rather than tricking you into coming to their hideout, he'd steal one of the items needed to unlock the dungeon and you'd need to go there to get it back.

Also now thinking of having the Boss still be something like The Watcher, but being some sort of freaky sea ghost rather than a mummy-looking thing.
