Laughing at People on WoW Forums
5 posts
I play WoW and get a kick out of laughing at people who are overreacting to things on WoW forums and videos. However, I know replying to most (if not all) of these people is pointless because they're stubborn and, from personal experience, usually very rude. So, I've decided to just laugh.

I find it interesting that most of the big names in the community that I see really pushing for WoW Classic based on its social aspects are Straight White Dudes™. I personally think it says something about the comfort level they feel when being social on the internet. I mean, even if they are socially awkward they still don’t have to worry about being harassed for things like race, gender/sex, or sexual orientation. For them, having someone casually use slurs in chat doesn’t have to feel like a dealbreaker to finishing a dungeon or raid (or just feeling comfortable in the game period).
I’m not saying anything in this post as 100% scientific fact. That would take tons of motivation, research, and more than just anecdotal observations. I’m just saying I think there is something there. Like a hypothesis.

Classic Fanatics cry about how “antisocial” the game is now without ever stopping to consider that maybe they’re just a shitty person and no one wants to talk to any of them for that reason. Like, if the whole of WoW was a server and I was a guild leader, I’d blacklist all their asses because none of these attitudes are the kind I’d want to bring with me to raid. They’d be the same person who’d cry about not getting a piece of gear when there are 40 people to split the gear between.
They want to talk about server reputation and community but act like a sentient piece of hot garbage out in the general online WoW community.

Blizzard has a Rainbow Pride Pin on the Gear Store
The proceeds are going to support the Trevor Project. (I really want one.)
Naturually, shitstains crawled their way out of the sewers to comment.

Blizzard is Adjusting Mount Sizes for Tauren and Gnomes
(link goes to wowhead article)
This change only affects “normal” sized mounts. I went on the PTR myself and Tauren are still ridiculously big on large mounts. So, nothing has really changed.
And yet...
Tumblr media
“Oh. They’re ruining things again? :/ but why must everything get changed. Don’t they know we like how things are?”
Tumblr media
“did anyone even ask for this? I always loved being on huge mounts as a Gnome and how small the mounts looked on larger characters.”
Tumblr media
“They’re SHRINKING tauren mounts, not making them bigger. I hope they are giving out free race changed to the afflicted races here.”
Tumblr media
“this is worse than the absorb daze change.”
Tumblr media
“Player base diminishing daily, hundred of people moving to new games due to BfA’s boring gameplay and apparently mount size is what needs to be fixed.”
Tumblr media
“NOOOOOOOOOO theres a reasaon i play tauren and thats for the stupid over size we have on mounts”
Tumblr media
[a response to the previous comment] “Good luck explaining this to Blizzard. Such a cool aesthetic to be deleting from the game. I can’t imagine why they are doing this now.”
Tumblr media
“I don't know what's the saddest part: This change for Taurens, or the peoples claiming that "iT iS qUaLiTy Of LiFe ChAnGe". Those kind of "QoL" are Killing the character identity and the RPG part of the game, because Bobby, the great LFR Warrior, once had a problem to pass a specific door and it stopped him from rushing the quest in 14 secondes without reading any dialogue. Bobby got a life you know, Bobby can't afford to be blocked by a door you know.”
Tumblr media
“Another deception. Work on something useful instead of making tweaking that will be disapproved by most people.”
Tumblr media
“This has hardly been an issue since they fixed it the first time 10 years ago. It's a pretty lame excuse to try to justify a change they must have known wouldn't be popular. I absolutely hate it. =( I've been playing Tauren since vanilla and this is far from the top 5 or even 10 changes I would have been happy to see.”
This change is barely noticeable, as far as I can tell, and yet people are acting like it’s the worst change since removing talent trees. The WoW devs took the time to just tweek a thing like “hey look your Gnome toons actually look like they’re holding the reigns on their mount now and Tauren can fit through some doorways on certain mounts now” and then people drag themselves from the depths of hell to give their “opinions” on how this is just another way that the WoW devs are ruining all fun and making the game garbage.
My personal favorites are:
saying that race changes should be given out
that this is “killing character identity and the RPG part of the game”
that same person somehow blaming this on people who use LFR
saying the devs should work on something else as if this was literally the only thing they worked on for 8.2. HEAR THAT EVERYONE!? THIS IS THE ONLY CHANGE IN 8.2!
people who only play Tauren in order to be ridiculously large on large mounts (something I’d like to point out, WON’T CHANGE BECAUSE THIS ONLY AFFECTS “normal” MOUNTS!)
