but there’s a sorta… modern punk wave going around as of late that I’m feeling, mostly in a lot of trans spaces, and it’s super awesome because much of it IS about helping one another and rebelling against harmful systems. and that’s what I’m here for man

Molly knows about a few shortcuts but doesn't really use them because she's too worried about ruining her race by failing them

actually she doesn't even really RACE at all, because it's irresponsible to drive a vehicle at these speeds

Trixie knows ALL the important game breaking things. Shortcuts, best item spots, what would theoretically be the best combo, you name it

I think they'd prefer the bikes over the karts

favorite tracks are Coconut Mall (the Mario Kart fandom will understand why), Mushroom Gorge and Boo Lake

has to intentionally play bad so people don't stop playing with her at all

I don't think he has fully figured out how a race works, even though he was told multiple times

this man right here plays as a Mii racer, you can't change my mind

he likes playing together with Phoenica. They don't race, they just drive around the courses and look at the pretty scenery together

if he ever gets any speed item in the item roulette he will cause chaos

probably drives backwards and against walls as we're speaking

the way he plays makes you think he's really bad at hiding that he lets you win

.....oh wait no, he's actually worse than thought-

he's oddly competitive even though his skills aren't the best but will intentionally play even worse when he knows someone is having a bad day

mostly uses King Boo, Waluigi and Birdo

favorite tracks include: Excitebike Arena, 3DS Neo Bowser City, Waluigi Pinball and Choco Mountain

he also has terrible luck in this game

loses most of his good items to shocks or gets hit over and over again

oh PLEASE he's way too adult for childish games like these

if you invite him over he'll spend the entire day infront of this game, experiencing inhuman joy whenever he gets a top spot, but he'll never admit it

actually this game would be terrible for her she will get so frustrated over this

Vox sneeze headcanons

-Vox has bad pollen allergies

-His immune system is his filtration system which sometimes can be sensitive

-Yes (as cliché as this is) he loses control of his electricity powers and has been known to blow up lightbulbs, electrical outlets or other electronics like poor Vels phone. (Don't worry he got her another one immediately). Sometimes if he has a particularly nasty cold or allergic reaction there's been a few blackouts in the Vee tower . He gets embarrassed each time he accidentally breaks shit.

-Very allergic to dust , especially if there's buildup in his filters

-After a bad sneeze fit, the blue screen of death can appear and Val gets worried about his boyfriend (he's fine just glitching bad)

-Vox can sneeze despite not having a nose, it sounds like "Hzzz'teww Hzzzt'choo hnxxzz cheww ". The zs are electricity . His screen will glitch so it's even obvious when he stifles them into silence

-His screen leaks plasma when he's sick or allergic , it looks like his face is melting

-He usually sneezes twice but can be known to have bad fits when it comes to dust and pollen. He tries to stifle them into silence and mumbles "pardon me", especially if in meetings. He only lets his sneezes out when at home and hides in the bathroom if he has a bad fit in public. He wouldn't be caught dead on camera having an allergic reaction and showing any weakness.He doesn't get kicks out of interrupting overlord meetings like Velvette does.

-He covers with his hands (eww old man) or handkerchief . It's better than nothing, Velvette supposes.

-You know Vox is sick when he can't stifle his wet electric sneezes. He's known to carry a hanky and gets awful headcolds a few times a year. Usually courtesy of Val.

-Love cats which sucks for Valentino

-Dosent say "damn you" unless he's close with you and mostly only says it to the Vees. He says "shut the fuck up" when the other Vees have fits, interrupting his work and concentration

-Hes had to be rebooted by Val when he got a bad fever and was overheating to the point of catching on fire (hot-headed much?)

-Of course he works through his sickness, he has a whole tech empire to run

Kanade is always spilling things by keeping her hands inside of her hoodie. She's always keeping her hands warm and kneading the edge but she keeps forgetting and knocking things over.

She also has a sun allergy and she gets rashes from being outside in pure sunlight. This means if she ever wants to go outside it's like 3 AM so sometimes she'll jumpscare her neighbors because she rarely goes outside and when she does it's so late.

not to code gotham as eastern europe but eastern europe is the gothic literature locus classicus so i'm in full right to do it and it's just such a good parallel because. for westerners/outsiders it looks like a literal nightmare but the locals find comfort and humour in all things that throw the foreigners off. you have to find hope in a place that the others claim to be unlivable. if you give up and leave, it will always stay in your heart like an open wound.

also it just never ceases to amaze me how there are so many similarities between gothic lit & eastern european lit of the period that we would never call 'gothic' because our ghosts and our supernatural elements are not portrayed as the Other most of the time. they're there to bring you closer to your culture and heritage. they are horrors that bring you home and connect you with your people. tell me this is not the perfect approach for gotham.

i think this is also why i hate the portrayal of the city as some unsalvageable monstrosity with no kidness to be found. often places where the circumstances seem the most dire, the cultures that are branded gruesome because of the focus on the dead produce the most loving communities, as they are needed.
