Hi everyone!
It’s week 9 and our last time in the Victorian era and only time in the Edwardian era. This is a style you probably recognize from many movies and shows. It’s the Gibson girl style that was popular for quite some time as it went through two eras. It’s another style worn by all and didn’t have to look perfect which made it fun and easy to do.
Makeup
This is our second to last natural makeup up look. In two weeks we are into flapper makeup and that will be fun!
Hair
Now, this style is a tiny bit complicated just because of the poof that has to around your head. There are many tutorials and the one I used for help is from Locks of Elegance. I will tell you my adjustments.
What you need:
Hair tie
Bobby pins
Rat-tailed comb
Make a headband part and brush it forward to add volume and you may need to tease it a bit. You want to make a ponytail with this section, but you need to make sure it does a poof in the front so do not do the ponytail tight to the head. You want it to be a couple of inches from your head and resting near or on the crown of your head. The back section was the hardest. Brush it forward to add volume and make sure it’s got a poof in the back. Combine with the ponytail and twist into a loose bun on top of your head and pin it down. Use the comb to adjust the poof and pin as needed. I chose to leave my bangs out for a bit of a messy look.

"Beautiful" isn't the type of word that comes to mind when you think of a water heater today, but they were once things of both great beauty and utility in the home. Check out this link to see more fascinating, gorgeous examples of such bygone industrial design.
Of course, like everything of the era, they were not only stylish, but reliable. It is not unusual to see "examples [that] have been found operating after 80 years." Needless to say, I want one!
