Luke hadn’t even had his coffee yet which certainly meant it was too early to be seeing men this attractive.

Morning light streaming in and surrounding his dark brown hair like a halo, navy-blue sweater with the collar of a white button-up peeking out from underneath and black trousers stretching down his legs. Hair up in a bun showing off the undercut beneath and tortoiseshell glasses perched on the tip of his nose almost about to fall off. Holding a novel in his left hand and sipping on an iced coffee from his right.

Luke’s brain short-circuited with how attractive the man was, but to be fair he still hadn’t gotten his coffee yet.

An undercaffeinated mechanic meets the single father of his coworker’s nephew, who just so happens to be the mysterious man he can't keep his eyes off at Dagobah Coffee.

Happy 4 years of The Mandalorian!

Today was the day I came back to my dorm room after class and excitedly whipped out my laptop to log onto Disney+ for the first time. After making my profile with an Iron Man icon, I went straight to The Mandalorian season 1, episode 1 “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian.”

5 minutes later, I was hooked on Din Djarin’s character.

30 minutes later, I was convinced I was watching some of Star Wars’ best action.

40 minutes later, I saw a baby Yoda - and I knew for sure that I was hooked.

I went back, changed my Disney+ icon to the Mandalorian, and that’s where it all truly began.

Now, my life has changed for the better because of this show. I altered my career path, changing from a writer of either books or sports news to entertainment, and I now work as an editor for one of entertainment news’ biggest sites.

I’ve had the chance to interact with all 3 Din Djarin actors - Pedro, Brendan, and Lateef - via the internet, and hopefully one day in person.

And, of course, I got to make this blog, and meet all of you who have transformed it into a beautiful community of The Mandalorian and Star Wars. Thank you.

Here’s to the next four years! This is the Way! 🩶

Chief Editor Luke Skywalker makes a foolish lie to help protect his employee, basically a secretary, Din Djarin from losing his job. Both hoped to brush it off with some minor inconvenience but, instead, find themselves going to Din's home to "celebrate" their engagement with the very large Djarin clan.

Trapped in a quaint village where everyone knows everything, sharing a bedroom, and needing to pretend they are happily in love when Din hates his boss with a passion, and said boss being a bit more soft and odd than he realized, it feels like a disaster is waiting to happen. Only, in a strange turn of events, rather than things unraveling, it feels like pieces are falling into place a little too naturally.

Obviously my lock screen is Din. There are so few shots of Pedro as helmetless Din looking at the camera, so I covet the ones we do have, and this is my favourite because he’s groomed correctly. (Unlike the Vanity Fair photoshoot where his moustache was too thick and made him look more like Joel Miller cosplaying as Din Djarin 😭). The wonderful thing about Pedro is that he makes tiny physical adjustments to distinguish each character he plays, and this photo from the Empire magazine cover was spot on for Din in terms of grooming and sexy intensity. I mean, okay, the editors cropped his hair poorly when importing the image, which spoiled the overall effect, but that’s why I’ve zoomed in so you can’t see the unnaturally smooth back of his head 😅. Like this, he’s perfection. You can see his scar and he looks like he’s got a bruised cheek, but he’s also looking right into your soul 😍

Last song was Faith Hill’s This Kiss. I heard it on the radio in the car the other day and I’m a sucker for 90s hits, so it immediately got added to my Spotify playlist. (Also, since my brain is wholly occupied by Din Djarin 99.9% of the time, I then spent the rest of the journey wondering what he would think of songs like that if he ended up on Earth. A whole song about kissing and the poor guy can’t even take off his helmet…? Did I maybe write a scene in my head where this conversation happens and results in him finding a convenient loophole? Well, my list of fic ideas I’ll probably never write has one more bulletpoint now at least!)

Animal/something pretty is my sister’s gorgeous new puppy. Everyone, this is Lyra. She’s a Bichon Frisé cross Shih Tzu. She’s cute and playful, and she thinks she owns everyone and everything. I love her already 🥹

I had full intentions to do an entire month of kinktober this year but some things just don't work out. I had all the prompts and the people listed but I just couldn't get out of my head enough to complete a full month. With that being said I’m bringing back my mini kinktober for the week before Halloween!! This did incredibly well last year and I am so excited to share what I’ve written!

Mandalorian homeworld

He originally joined the site as a freelance writer on the Lists team before moving over to News and Features, eventually becoming an editor in 2018. Mansoor Mithaiwala is Screen Rant's TV Lead Editor. Next: All 10 Upcoming Star Wars Shows Explained A Boba Fett series was previously reported to be filming before season 3, and the December 2021 release date lines up with that. Although Lucasfilm hasn't confirmed specific details regarding its story, this is not season 3 of the parent show. The Mandalorian season 2's post-credits scene teased The Book of Boba Fett, a previously unannounced spinoff to the show. Is The Mandalorian Season 3 Actually The Book Of Boba Fett? Lucasfilm is building to a climactic story event, after all. Ahsoka, however, likely won't appear in The Mandalorian season 3 since she has her own spinoff series on the way, but that doesn't mean she won't come back in the future. There's no word on Timothy Olyphant appearing again as Cobb Vanth again, but considering how he and Mando departed, his role in this story may not be over. Furthermore, it's highly unlikely Luke Skywalker will return in any form since he's taken Grogu to train in his new Jedi Order. It stands to reason Gina Carano and Carl Weathers will reprise their roles as Cara Dune and Greef Karga, respectively, but neither of them have been confirmed to return as of yet.Īs for everyone else, Temuera Morrison's Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand are on their own path with The Book of Boba Fett, a new series coming in December 2021 in which Boba and Fennec seemingly take over Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine. But beyond them, Giancarlo Esposito has already confirmed that Moff Gideon will return in season 3 and even play a large role. The Mandalorian season 3 will, of course, bring back Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin aka Mando, but it seems without the puppet Grogu. How that story plays out, and if he becomes Bo-Katan's enemy, will be interesting to see in The Mandalorian season 3. And so, he's now the rightful ruler of Mandalore. Bo-Katan didn't reclaim the Darksaber - since Mando defeated Moff Gideon in combat, the Darksaber is rightfully his. Earlier in the episode, Din promised to help Bo-Katan and her Nite Owls retake their homeworld if they helped him get the Child back, which they technically did, and now he has that cause to fulfill. Now that his quest is over, he's vowed to see another one through: reclaiming Mandalore. For now, it seems Grogu's story in The Mandalorian is over, but Din Djarin's is still just beginning. The Mandalorian season 2 finale ends with Luke Skywalker taking Grogu to train as part of his new Jedi Order, which, sadly, was destroyed years before Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The spinoff series will film before The Mandalorian season 3, and since the latter series wasn't on Disney's 2021 calendar, it's fair to say it won't return until 2022. That release date isn't for The Mandalorian but rather The Book of Boba Fett, which is confirmed to debut in December 2021. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced a Christmas premiere date for The Mandalorian's "next chapter" during Disney's 2020 Investor Day, but that was slightly misleading. The Mandalorian season 3 releases in 2022. Both TV shows will take place in the same time period as The Mandalorian and intersect with its story, which means big things for Din Djarin, Star Wars, and The Mandalorian season 3. Rosario Dawson is getting her own spinoff show as Ahsoka Tano, with Lucasfilm also developing a Rangers of the New Republic show, presumably following X-wing pilots like Carson Teva in the Outer Rim. While The Mandalorian season 1 was more about setup and laying the foundation for a bigger story, season 2 dove deep into Star Wars lore, taking viewers on a journey through a variety of sand, snow, water, and forest planets. With Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano, and Bo-Katan Kryze showing up in season 2, The Mandalorian is now bigger than ever. Easily one of the biggest shows out right now, The Mandalorian continues to dominate pop culture with every episode it releases, and even in between seasons - though it's not only about Grogu anymore.

It’s been far too long since I’ve shared some writing here, so here’s two little bits of AUs that I do eventually want to turn into fics, but have too many WIPs currently in progress for that to happen super soon. The first is a little bit of Leia POV from a “Din, Luke, and Leia get flung into TCW era and have to deal with that” AU, and the second is “force shenanigans mean an intangible, force-ghost-esque Luke experiences moments from Din’s past and has all the feels about them”. Leia:

Leia breathes in, and lets her fingers move, undoing the heavy mourning braids she’s worn ever since — since. Her hair uncoils in waves, a familiar blanket falling over her back. She pictures Cara, the side of her head shorn close to the scalp, the rest of the hair no longer than shoulder length when undone from its braid. A soldier’s haircut, a soldier’s mourning - hair shorn in remembrance of the fallen, a duet of grief along with the teardrop tattoo on her cheek. Leia has – not refused, but avoided – avoided that last step, the shearing of her hair. She has more than once sat with clippers in hand, staring into the mirror and willing herself to do it, but. But she has - had? will have? - a duty as the Princess of Alderaan, a duty that lasted even when the planet was little more than space dust. She had to be an image of strength, even with everything crumbled around her. And so she had kept her hair, kept it long, but instead had bound it up in the traditional mourning braids of royalty, close and looping. But here, in this time – she can’t be royalty. She is a ghost, a figurehead with no people to lead. She thinks of Cara again, and starts to section out pieces for a braid that will sweep back across her temple, simple and practical, but still Alderaanian to its core.

Luke:

Luke blinks, and he’s in a low tunnel, dug straight into dark earth. A small figure brushes past him, a figure with a head of curly black hair— Din. He follows child-Din as he steps cautiously down the tunnel, as soundless here as he is as an adult. Din stops in front of an archway with a skull mounted above it— the Mythosaur, the same as the pendant Grogu wears. 

Child-Din pauses, peering through the archway into the room beyond it. As Luke nears, the flickering blue-white light flares for a moment, bathing the boy’s face, and then a voice speaks. 

“Enter, ad.”

Din steps forward, and Luke follows him into— a forge, it seems. Luke can’t feel temperature here in this strange vision-space, but he imagines it must be warm, perhaps unbearably so, thanks to the large forge in the middle of the room, ringed in blue flame. A Mandalorian with a gold helmet and russet chestplate stands, hammer in their hands, and cocks a head at Din as he gets near. 

“Are you alright, Din’ika?”

Her voice is smooth and steady, and evidently comforting— the tense set of child-Din’s shoulders eases as she speaks. He looks at the floor, suddenly shy. “… Nightmare,” he says eventually. 

“Ah. Well, come, sit with me.” The Mandalorian sets her tools on her workbench and moves to sit against the wall, where a cushion— a bedroll, more likely— has been spread out. Evidently she is accustomed to sleeping in her forge. Luke wonders to himself how she does not suffocate in the heat, with the fur cape around her shoulders. 

Din huddles down on the mat beside the Mandalorian, hugging his knees to his chest. He does not lean into her, though by the look on his face, he wants to. 

“It is natural to have nightmares,” the Mandalorian says softly, her helmet tilted to look down at Din where he’s huddled next to her. “What matters is that we know how to distinguish them from reality.” 

Din nods, and when he speaks next, his voice is choked. “It was my village. My parents.” 

The Mandalorian sighs, and lays a gentle hand on the back of Din’s neck. He stiffens for a moment, and then tilts, shifting until his head is pillowed against her chestplate. It can’t be comfortable, but he doesn’t seem to mind. They sit in silence for several moments, and then a low singing starts to fill the room, a language Luke doesn’t know, but has heard before. Child-Din lets a few tears escape as he listens, but eventually the Mando’a lullaby pulls him under and back into sleep. The Mandalorian beside him never moves from her position.
