Akira Kimura is an Olive Ridley Sea Turtle. He has two moms and one sister (His moms being Kōki and Miu Kimura and his sister being Mina Kimura). He is gay and uses he/him pronouns!! He is 6’3, Korean and Japanese, and loves to play his drums and piano. He also likes writing, drawing, surfing/skating,,singing, crafting, training. He is the drummer in his band (The Late Night Dolls/TLND) and the backup vocals. In his private time he likes dressing up as a girl (yes he is a drag queen). Also by joining Mari-Lynn’s clan (The Nakaruma Clan) He got two special powers. He can control water and he can clone/make life (but he doesn’t know about the second power yet..)

• He will totally listen to you rant about your interest, as long as you do the same with him.

• His favorite music genres are Punk rock, Jazz rock, j-pop, k-pop, hip hop metal, and grunge!

Maria Linda Nakaruma (also known as Mari-Lynn), is a 5’9 Nekomata yōkai. He has one brother and one uncle (where r her parents? That’s a story for another day!). She is Pansexual and uses any pronouns (mainly She/He/They)! She’s also Japanese Puerto Rican and plays the guitar and is the lead vocals for her band. He also likes drawing (mostly doing graffiti art tho), skating, training, reading comic books, doing punk stuff too! Her main powers are Controlling fire, shapeshifting into different felines, and raising the dead (but she can barely control the zombie power). He is also the next leader of the Nakaruma Clan and sort of looks forward to it.

• Big fan of horror movies (Like human centipede but I’ve never watched it in my life)

Mina Kimura is the little sister of Akira. She is a 5’3 Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle but doesn’t have the marks like Akira (She actually gets the marks from her mom Koki)! She uses She/Her pronouns and is AroAce! She is also Korean and Japanese as well and is the bassist and music editor in the band. She loves creating a bunch of outfits and clothes (Akira mostly gets dresses made from her), Swimming, doing makeup, skating/surfing, drawing, and painting. Her powers in the Nakaruma Clan are controlling nature and Telekinesis.

Rae Koji is an 5’9 Kitsune yōkai. Her family has been ‘missing’ ever since an incident (that I’ll explain next time). She is a lesbian and uses She/Her pronouns. She’s Japanese Chinese and the backup guitarist and vocals for her band. She likes graffiti, skating, playing games, watching movies, and reading. Her powers are controlling wind, shapeshifting, and healing. She is most of the time grumpy and silent but cares about her friends a lot.

I’m in no rush for the next books bc if she wrote ACOSF that shitty who knows what else she’ll write from other character POV’s. I can see her just turning every single fan group against eachother eventually, Like imagine if Elain argues with Rhys or Feysand over Rhys telling Az not to pursue her just yet? I could possibly no longer like her over something like that & it’s why I hope it doesn’t happen bc i’m trying to give her a chance. Or if Az keeps being annoying & reckless disobeying understandable orders? He may get on my last nerve. I’ve had it with people in the family acting up bc Feyre started a new family to get away from BS didn’t she SJM? Or if Lucien gets a POV excusing how he treated Feyre shitty or mocking or villainizing Feyre & The IC like Nesta did? If I catch Vassa talking shit since she’s already done off as annoying in Acowar & since we know Lucien is keeping information from Feysand since they said “He’s basically loyal to them now” Or Lucien still riding Tamlins too despite him being Feyre’s abuser….

There’s SO many ways these new POV’s can piss me off so I don’t mind waiting either. I even hope Bryce’s POV of them all isn’t shallow petty or annoying since even tho she’s sweet…She’s annoying to me in CC. She’s the one SJM heroine I’m not all that impressed with but I’m hoping I like her more in CC3..She’s making it seem like Bryce is unhappy there in the book synopsis already which I get bc she’s going thru it but also…SJM..Don’t piss IC fans off once again. ACOSF was the last straw for me next time..I will not hesitate to call her out for petty writing decisions.

Every day I understand more & More why authors don’t interact with her much or if she does have drama among other authors bc If I read that book as an author I wouldn’t be able to take her writing seriously. Feyre got blessed with her series bc these spin-offs are embarrassing kinda…Feyre’s books only lacked in showing us her power or more of Rhys’ power..Or that she shoved her sisters drama back into her NEW life.

Sjm being so reckless with this series that people no longer trusting her to do right by it is so hilarious to me. Like she needs to tap into whatever she was on when she wrote acomaf and get to work. My biggest fear is waiting years for this book just for it to be complete trash.

And I agree the way Mass’ writing (when it comes to acotar) has regressed since the main series, especially acomaf, is staggering. The issues with Feyre books are more minor or little annoying things while the issues with acosf are…insane. The excuses the main characters makes for her own behavior, ignoring plot lines in prior books, throwing in details that directly goes against what was said in prior books, the lackluster romance that seemed so much better when it was seen from the pov of someone else. I just wonder if when sjm’s editors were reading acosf for the first time, they ignored everything that was blatantly wrong with it because “oh smut🤩”.

Honestly I don’t think it would happen but if Elain and Azriel do end up I’m some drama with Feysand I’m siding with Feysand idc.

And I haven’t started CC yet. I’ve seen a few spoilers but I can’t really judge Bryce’s personality right now.

Synopsis: In the sewers below New York City, something has scared the rats that make it their home. The racket also attracts the attention of some slimy creature that also dwells in the sewers. Not far away, the Scorpion is on a rampage because he is on his wit's end. He has grown tired of being the Scorpion, as his transformation has made him incapable of having a normal life. Now he has to spend his time on the run from the authorities and super-heroes, all because of J. Jonah Jameson. He considers giving up on it all, but his rant is interrupted by a man named Phillip Cussler, Sr. Cussler suggests that the Scorpion crush his enemies, and offers his support. Cussler, a self-made millionaire, feels a kinship with the Scorpion because he is wary of the law-abiding world. Needing protection, Phillip invites the Scorpion back home to discuss business. Intrigued by the man's story, the Scorpion agrees to accompany him. As they wade through the sewers, a strange creature lurks in the shadows.

Meanwhile, at the Daily Bugle, Phillip Cussler, Jr. is making an appeal to J. Jonah Jameson and Joe Robertson. He explains that his father has gone missing and he wants the Bugle to publish a story asking for help, and that he is offering a large reward. As Jonah and Cussler the elder go way back, Jonah promises all of the Daily Bugle's resources to help him find his father. Joe leaves the office to get a photographer on the case. As Peter Parker has seemingly gone to ground, Joe suggests that Kate Cushing hire their new cub photographer, Angela Yin. Still, Kate tries to call Peter Parker. Surprisingly Parker answers the phone, but with his Aunt May's frail health and the villains that have been threatening his home, he has too much going on and declines the offer. However, when he hears about Phillip Cussler's disappearance, Peter asks more about it.

That evening, the Scorpion is brought to one of Phlillip Cussler's china shops. there Phillip, Sr. tells the Scorpion that his son has forced him out of the family business and weeks to utterly ruin the boy. When the Scorpion asks if Phillip wants the store trashed, he refuses. Cussler then begins hacking into one of the company computers in order to erase the financial records so he can later sick the IRS on his son. Watching Cussler work, the Scorpion is impressed and figures that this genius will be able to help him come up with a way of defeating Spider-Man once and for all. With the records eliminated, Phillip then turns the Scorpion's attention to the safe. The following morning, When Phillip, Jr., discovers the damage done to his business and calls the police and the Daily Bugle. Arriving on the scene are J. Jonah Jameson and Angela Cheng. When Angela suggests that this is the work of the Scorpion, Jonah dismisses her at first. Then he thinks that the capture of the Scorpion could be the story that will give the sales boost the Daily Bugle needs.

That afternoon, Spider-Man is scouring the city looking for the Scorpion, unimpressed having to deal with him so soon after their last battle. Meanwhile, a mysterious man has just walked out of a grocery store to get some food. His worries are quickly put aside when he spots a child running across the street about to be struck by an oncoming car. This man is able to leap across the width of the road, pulling the child out of harm's way. After handing the boy over to his father, the man runs away before someone recognizes who he is. Meanwhile, Spider-Man has forced information about the Scorpion out of a local stoolie. He learns that the Scorpion is trying to get a group of men for a job. Figuring this is going to be an attack on another Cussler china shop, but with eight franchises in the city, the wall-crawler wonders what is happening next. While down in the sewers, Mac Gargan is enjoying a meal prepared for him by Cussler. This has given him the opportunity to take off his costume and act like Mac Gargan for the first time in forever. He wonders if it is time to leave the life of the Scorpion behind and go straight, but he owes Cussler and decides to continue with this next score.

By this point, Phillip Jr. has connected his stores computers with the Daily Bugle so they know which one of the stores his father will target next. When they get an alert to that the store located at Herald Square. As Jonah, Phillip, and Angela rush to the scene, it is the last store that Spider-Man is checking that day. There he spots the Scorpion's hired goons and attacks them. Inside the store, Phillip, Sr. is working on erasing the computer files on the computer. Hearing the battle outside, the Scorpion goes outside to face his long time enemy. The Scorpion allows Spider-Man to see him go into the sewers, luring the hero into a trap. There the web-slinger is swarmed by more armed thugs. As Spider-Man fights off these attackers, Jonah and the others arrive on the scene and spot Phillip's father watching the battle from a manhole. When Phillip tells his father to stop, the elder Cussler warns them to stay away, brandishing a wrench as a weapon to keep them at bay. Down in the sewer, Spider-Man fights through the gang to battle the Scorpion. As the pair battle it out, a strangle sentient pile of slime attacks the Scorpion's hired thugs. Spider-Man beats the Scorpion into submission and then notices that the thugs have been completely consumed by the pile of slime that suddenly appeared in the sewer.

Dismissing this as a minor concern, Spider-Man begins to clilmb up to the surface to try and find Phillip Cussler's father. His spider-sense begins to warn him of danger above. Before he can turn and see who is attacking him, he strikes out. The web-slinger realizes too late to stop himself from striking Cussler the elder. The strength of the blow sends Cussler slamming into a wall. This moment is photographed by Angie Chang, much to the delight of J. Jonah Jameson. As Phillip rushes to his father, Spider-Man is horrified by what he has done. Jonah gloats that the wall-crawler has gone too far and this will be the end of his career. Fleeing to the rooftops, Spider-Man watches as Cussler is being loaded into an ambulance. Blaming himself, Spider-Man reminds himself of the most important lesson he ever learned, "with great power comes great responisibility", however in this brief moment he has failed in maintaining this motto.

When I was young, (32 now) I used to have so many ideas for stories to write. One in particular, I began writing in s notebook until I had written approximately 50 or so pages by hand. I was so proud of it. Even though it wasn't nearly close to done, I felt I was accomplishing something. My Mother loved it. Shared it with the family. Then her husband, (my step father) asked for a look and rather than say anything about the story itself, he ranted about the poor choice in title. (I called it "Ebony.")

The way he raved about a poor title being all that was needed to ensure no one would read it unless obligated to crushed me. No amount of compliments from others could mute his words shouting in my head. I set the notebook aside and let it collect dust. I'm older now and with many more stories I want to tell. But his words somehow still stay my hand even if I'm not focusing on a good or bad title and the frustration of being unable to voice the words in my head is sometimes paralyzing.

Has there ever been a time where negative words said years ago has affected you like this?

One of my first short stories, written when I was 22 or just 23, I proudly showed to two people whose opinions I respected in the Fantasy world, both editors. One said it wasn't very good. The other told me it was "pretentious twaddle". I put the story away, and when I thought of it, I felt guilty for having written a story that bad and for ever showing it to people.

Twenty years later I was asked for a story for an anthology, remembered that long-ago buried story and went into the attic and found it in a box of things I was never going to show anyone. I read it, to see if there was anything in the mass of pretentious twaddle that I could use. It wasn't actually bad at all, which surprised me. It was a typewritten manuscript, so I retyped it, fixing things I needed to fix on the way, but there wasn't a lot to do.

When it was published it won awards.

Who is Sabra and why are comic readers worried about her introduction into the MCU?

(Making this because I actually have receipts for her problematic writing to back up statements already made, mostly)

Ruth Bat-Seraph, AKA Sabra, is an Israeli superhero who was introduced in 1980, first appearing as an antagonist to the Hulk. When she’s not acting as a superhero, she’s a policewoman. She’s named after the Hebrew word for the pear cactus, per editor’s note in Incredible Hulk vol. 1 #256.

Her being a policewoman is cringe, but she’s not the first or last Marvel hero to have such a job for her alter ego. No, what has people concerned is that she’s always been written as a racist bitch.

In Incredible Hulk vol. 1 #256, Bruce Banner tries to help a homeless Arab boy who ends up getting killed in a bombing. Sabra mistakes the Hulk as working with the bombers and attacks. Hulk gets mad and goes on a super-cringe anti-Islam and anti-Judaism rant, saying religion is the cause of the boy’s death. And somehow this leads Sabra to an epiphany that “oh yeah, this boy is a human being!”

So that’s some really bad/dated writing, but you can at least say the intention for character growth was there, right? Show this state-sponsored superhero that her government has taught her wrong. Too bad she learns absolutely nothing long-term from this.

In Marvel Super Hero Contest of Champions, all she and the Arabian Knight contribute to the comic is arguing with each other. He’s written as an antisemitic and sexist pig, and she’s written as a racist jerk who refuses to work with him on account of him being Arab and comments (paraphrasing) “that’s just how it’s always been between our people”—Iron Man makes an inappropriate joke about this, of course.

In New Warriors vol. 1 #58-59, she appears again. Justice has a lil bit of a crush on her, and the story starts seemingly innocent… until Batal, a Syrian hero shows up, and then it’s back to the same bullshit. She advocates for his murder because “The Arabs” killed her son. i will be basing miguel's spider-man on andrew garfield’s but apart from that it’ll be mostly similar to tom holland’s. will also be moving them from california to new york for obvious reasons.

miguel diaz was undoubtedly the most amazing person you ever met. so were your friends hawk and eli. although, there was something that set miguel aside from them.

maybe it was the way he always knew the right thing to say. or maybe that electricity that shocked you whenever you were walking next to each other and accidentally graze your hands together.

you looked up at miguel, his eyes fixed on samantha larusso. you knew he had a crush on her, even openly talking about it in the group during lunch.

it broke you. you weren't as rich as sam, you didn't consider yourself as beautiful as her, and you didn't think you were as smart as she was.

the bell loudly rang, snapping you out of your thoughts. you closed your books and shoved them inside your backpack, walking with miguel to the cafeteria where you both sat down and waited for hawk and demetri.

you took a sip from your chocolate milk, looking up to see miguel staring at you.

"don't tell me i have a milk moustache." you chuckle, raising your fingers to check your upper lip.

miguel chuckled and shook his head, "no, you look fine i was just uhh-" miguel looked past you, "just looking at those pigeons."

you looked back at the pigeons and furrowed your eyebrows, it was definitely strange. he wasn't looking at those pigeons, he was looking right at you.

"yeah, yeah... the pigeons." you nod.

hawk and demetri come at the moment, saving miguel from further embarassment.

hawk rambling about how he got into an argument with the history teacher, mr. arnold, over the assignment.

you weren't paying attention though, and by the looks of it neither was miguel, whose eyes you felt stare at you.

you look back at him and gave him a warm smile, pretending to listen to hawk, who by now was done with his rant. "anyways, i was thinking we could go to moon's party tonight?" hawk added.

"isn't it a school night?" you ask.

"well yeah, but that's how you know it's gonna be the cool people only. all the losers are gonna stay home studying." hawk replied.

demetri, miguel, and you looked at each other and then back at hawk.

"dude... we're all staying home and studying tonight, we have a math test tomorrow." demetri remarked.

"come on guys! we haven't done anything since like a month ago! demetri's always studying, (y/n)'s always working, and miguel is... well i don't know! what is it that you're always so busy with?" hawk asked.

miguel's shoulders went stiff as he looked around and stumbled for the right words, "i uhh- well i'm helping johnny out with his work."

you called bullshit. everytime one of you asked miguel to do something with him after school, he always used johnny as an excuse.

johnny was a nice guy tho. he and carmen had gone out on a disastrous date but by the end of it, she decided to give him another chance. ever since then, they had been absolutely inseparable.

"seriously, i think hawk's right. we need to hang out again! we always see each other in school and text but we should do something awesome together!"

the three boys agreed, "then it's settled, we'll do something this weekend."

miguel was gone before the final bell even rang. demetri, hawk, and you looked everywhere for him but like always he was nowhere to be found.

"screw it. let's just do study group at his house!" demetri exclaimed.

miguel's grandmother- or yaya, as he called her- answered the door, allowing the three of you in and offering a huge amount of food for all of you.

you sat down on miguel's bed, smelling strongly of him. you closed your eyes, a memory of the first time you met triggering you.

when miguel had just moved here, you were the first friend he made.

you lived in the building across to his and worked at the small coffee shop near those buildings.

miguel walked into the shop, quickly entranced by your beauty that he didn't notice you asking him what he wanted.

"sorry? oh yeah! i just wanted a donut please." he nervously smiled.

you nodded, "sure. what kind?"

"which do you recommend?" he inquired.

you leaned in closer, "between you and me. these are all stale and sort of disgusting. but the donut holes aren't so bad."

miguel laughed softly, "then i'll take some of those."

you nod, quickly ringing his order up. "alright, that'll be $6.29 please." you gave him a tight lipped smile.

miguel quickly took out a $10 dollar bill. while you handed him his change you looked up at him, "you're new here, aren't you?"

he nodded, his dark curls bouncing along. "yeah, how did you know?"

you shrugged, "it might be a very large city but we all know each other around this community." you retorted, "i'm (y/n), by the way." you offer your hand to shake his.

he looks at it before looking back at you and shaking it, "i'm miguel. nice to meet you, (y/n)."

you wrote down your number on a piece of paper, "i know it can get quite overwhelming around these parts. you know, being new here in such a big place. so if you ever wanna hang with me and my friends, you just give me a call."

a wide smile grew on miguel's lips, "that would be awesome! i'll definitely take you up on that offer. thanks a lot, (y/n)."

you nod, "it's no problem. see you around."

"(Y/N!)" demetri belted, “are you still with us?”

you cleared your throat, “yeah! i was just distracted, thinking about stuff.”

“they’re thinking about how they want to make out with miguel.” hawk butt in. you and demetri just groaned and shook your heads. you gently kicked him and went back to your work.

“oh look! spider-man just stopped a robbery at that convenience store we always go to.” demetri showed us his phone.

you and hawk leaned in, “he’s so cool.” you awed.

“dude, what’s your obsession with spider-man?” hawk asked.

“he saves the city, keeps all of us safe, and he’s got cool superpowers!” demetri replied defensively.

“seriously? anyone can do that. shit, i could do that!” hawk scoffed.

you shrugged, “i don’t know, dude. you’re really underestimating spider-man, he’s pretty cool.” you replied, “plus, i think it’s kind of heroic and hot what he does.”

“oooh, you’ve got it bad for spider-man, don’t you?” demetri teased.

you chuckled and shook your head, “no! well maybe yeah but it’s still super awesome!”

“you both are dorks.” hawk shook his head, going back on his phone to text whatever random person he was texting.

as you finished studying, hawk decided that he’d leave since he’s rather hang out with “hot babes” than two losers. demetri was next, his mom called him over for dinner.

that left you alone in miguel’s room. you stood up and yawned, stretching as you walked over to miguel’s mirror.

there was a picture of him hanging by the mirror. you sighed, “hey miguel. did you know i’m like probably deeply in love with you it’s pathetic? yeah, i know you like sam and you’ll probably never wanna see me again but… i just thought you should know that.”

it really was useless in your opinion. the way you were always pining over him when he was already pining for samantha larusso.

you sighed, packing up your stuff and saying goodbye to miguel’s yaya.

the thoughts of miguel still pestered your brain as you walked across the street, looking for your headphones. no matter how hard you tried, they wouldn’t go away. you didn’t even notice the reckless driver in front of you.

it wasn’t until you heard the horn only a few inches near you that you were absolutely paralyzed.

your thoughts quickly faded, chills ran through your body, and as much as you tried, you just couldn’t move out of the way.

was this really it? were you about to die without telling miguel how you felt? the butterflies he incinerated inside you?

a pair of arms swooped in, your legs left the ground and a small yell escaped your lips.

you landed on the sidewalk in front of your building. “holy shit! oh god, what the hell?” your breathing got faster and you felt like you could faint right here, right now.

your eyes darted in front of spider-man, who had his hamds around your waist. “(y/n)! are you alright? that was really close!”

your eyebrows furrowed and you nodded, feeling something extremely familiar about spider-man. “yeah! i think i’m alright- wait, how do you know my name?”

spider-man froze, “well uhh- oh! i know your friend, miguel! i’ve heard lots of good things about you.”

an idea clicked into your head, “oh, you know miguel? tan skin, dark curly hair, and extremely handsome?” you fought the smirk that threatened to form your lips.

“y-yeah! yeah, that’s him! you think he’s handsome?” he asked.

you nodded, “totally. he’s so handsome, intelligent, and charming. but don’t tell him i told you that!”

spider-man nodded in reply, “of course! your uh, your secret’s totally safe with me.” he chuckled.

you heard a gunshots and sirens coming down from the street. “i gotta go! just stay safe and look both ways before crossing, okay?” spider-man yelled as his hands ripped from your waist.

“bye spidey! thanks for saving me!” you waved, watching as the masked hero swung away.

maybe you were a bit woozy from almost getting splattered across the street but you were 100% sure of this.

Thank you so much for introducing us to Big Ethel Energy! My friends have been trying to get me on Webtoons for quite some time but it looks like I just needed the right story. Ethel is so underappreciated and the butt of many jokes so it's refreshing to see her in the spotlight! Happy holidays!

... unfortunately I'm not liking it as much as I thought I would. I was excited when the news about Big Ethel Energy came out because I was curious about how they're gonna tell the Riverdale gang story through Big Ethel's POV. It's nice that you're enjoying it, so please don't let my opinion affect yours. It's still too early to judge the entire series since they've only released 16 episodes so far (17 by the time this gets posted), so there's still a chance that I would change my mind. Maybe I'll like what happens in the end. I don't know.

My main problem with the webtoon is probably how the writer is trying so hard to paint Jughead as an "immature jerk" when he's just an introverted foodie who doesn't go out of his way in the name of conformity. The characters are all adults in the webtoon, so it's perfectly fine for Jughead to work on his vlog instead of choosing to hang out with the gang. Also, can we really blame him if he's not romantically interested in Big Ethel? Not reciprocating someone else's feelings - regardless of how genuine they are - is not a crime. It's not like he was purposely leading her on (like Archie does to Betty). And no, saying "hi" to her that one time in episode 5 doesn't mean he's trying to keep her hopes up. People should really stop confusing friendliness or politeness with romantic interest. But like I said, it's probably too early to judge the entire thing, so I'm hoping there's a plot twist somewhere that will sort of redeem Jughead in the eyes of those rabid commenters who bash him every chance they get.

Another problem I have with this webtoon is how they gave Betty's journalistic sensibilities to Big Ethel. The Blue and Gold staff in the comics has constantly changed over the years except for Betty. Though she sometimes share the editor-in-chief position with either Archie or Dilton, Betty has always been a reporter for the school paper. She even became an intern for a local station during the Betty and Me era. Writing is also one of her many talents. She's the go-to girl for any competition that involves journalism or creative writing. It's also not an exaggeration to say that Betty Cooper is also Miss Grundy (and probably every other Riverdale High teacher's) favorite student. While I appreciate the fact that they didn't make webtoon Ethel's interests revolve around Jughead's (like how she uses food and dogs to lure Jughead into giving her a bit of attention), I also don't think it's right to give her the qualities that were heavily associated with Betty in the comics. Big Ethel is a fine cook, a reliable babysitter, and a talented athlete. She also loves dogs. I do understand that the writer must come up with a way to rope Big Ethel back into whatever's going on in Riverdale, but I don't think forcing her to write a book about the town is the only way to make her come home.

The art is very pretty though. I'm still not used to the character design they chose for Big Ethel, but the illustrator is really talented. It seems like she's on a personal mission to make everyone in the webtoon look hot and that's okay, but it somehow makes it difficult for me, the reader, to accept that Big Ethel was such an "ugly duckling" in high school when the character design looked really pretty. I mean, it's still possible for someone as pretty as her to have insecurities (especially if Veronica Lodge exists to crush every bit of self-esteem she has left), but it's quite hard to buy Big Ethel's "glow up" from high school to adulthood when she basically looked the same.

Sorry for ranting. I didn't really mean to, but I guess I got carried away. Again, please don't let my opinion of the webtoon (so far) affect your enjoyment of it. I promised myself that I'm gonna read it until the end, so I really might still change my mind. Maybe I'll eventually like it? I mean, it did give us this cute Bughead interaction from episode 5, so I'm gonna cross my fingers and still hope for the best. Anyway, thank you for always supporting this blog. Dead Dove: Do Not Eat is a warning or tag used to indicate that a fanwork contains tropes or elements that may be deemed morally reprehensible without explicitly condemning the sensitive aspects.

I’m not quite sure if you’d put that in whump. We are already listing and tagging things, and do expect them to actually appear. I sure do not need that extra warning if someone clearly tags something “gore; there is GORE” - like I sure hope there is!

(Actually, I still find myself a bit disappointed some of the time :’) but well.)

I do tend to warn above the cut rather liberally; better safe than sorry. If I go over a certain arbitrary line, I might add an extra emphasis on “this time it’s really nastier than usually” but not that exact warning (because it means nothing to me, I learned about it a few months ago only).

If it’s about actual darker tropes, depends. Many are prevented by my need for a happy end. I can’t do major character death or something like that if I want the characters mostly intact to live happily ever after.

Whumper pov? Very unlikely. I do not enjoy that. So, due to the nature of it having Whumpee/Caretaker pov, it already has the “this is a Bad Thing that’s happening” vibe. Some of my characters might be morally gray/do morally gray things, though.

Major character death/an unlikely to come out alive amount of gore? In a dream/AU only, but I have lots of “canon” ideas & limited time to write, so chances I’ll ever get there are low. There might be some, especially in regards to my BTHB. I’m also not sure my writing style is “explicit” enough, and I won’t force it. If it happens, it happens.

Nsfw? Probably not. If I’d ever write it, I would not share it. I do not need that kind of drama in my life.

Also, since I am having A Day, and this hellsite is annoying me since the moment I opened my eyes in my cozy 27 degree hot room: I am already frustrated as hell that my main stories’ themes appear on like 2/3 of the squick lists of new whump intro posts. That things I had no problems sharing with my coworkers (!) are suddenly a no-go in this of all places. It’s not exactly encouraging going down even darker paths, knowing that those people who are about a story with recovery also wouldn’t read it. Your phone was still charging, it’s in your bag plugged into a power bank and you’re hoping it’ll charge enough soon. You’ve made it to campus with five minutes to spare, you can already see Akaashi through the windows of the class. He’s absolutely cute and you’d be lying if you said you hadn’t thought about what it would be like to date him, but you were so blissfully in love with your ex that you never took the chance to fully indulge yourself to fantasize.

And while he’s in class looking like he just walked right out of a manga in a university setting; you look exactly as it would sound like, as if you just woke up and ran to campus. Your hair is a mess, you tried running through campus attempting to put it up in a bun, it’s lopsided and you’re using the hood of your sweatshirt to try and cover up the mess of a mop it is. It doesn’t help that the only reason you’re wearing a sweatshirt is because you didn’t have time to put on a bra so yeah, you’re walking around campus with no bra on and the ugly sweatpants with wine stains on it doesn’t do you justice either. You’re even decked out with a pair of sandals.

Honestly, how were you going to walk into class, look at Akaashi in the face, and just act as if he didn’t send you a boyfriend application. When he sees you, he’ll definitely retract his resume.

There’s two minutes left and you’re awkwardly poking your head in. No one is giving you the time of day but it feels like all eyes are on you when you step in. Perhaps you shouldn’t be too ashamed of your looks as you’re nearing the end of the semester and most girls have switched out their cute skirts for tracksuit pants.

You’re slowly going towards your seat, Akaashi diligently writing in his notebook and he finally looks up. Through his glasses, he meets your gaze, his lips slowly part and he’s blinking as if wondering if you were really you. As you pull into your seat, he stares down at his notebook, he’s stopped writing and everything in you is just screaming at you to not scream out loud because there was no going back on this weird friendship type relationship that you two have developed.

Akaashi shuffles in his seat, his body is turned to face you and he’s so close to opening his mouth when the teacher’s voice makes his thoughts stop. He turns back to face the front, no words exchanged as you pull out your notebook, pencil, and charging cell phone that’s just reached fifteen percent. For the first time since the beginning of the semester, you’re going to take notes and listen intently to this hour and fifteen-minute long lecture.

Only ten minutes have passed and your professor has done nothing but decided to review on what the difference between a primary article and a secondary article is because some people just don’t understand why Wikipedia is not an official source. You peek a look over at Akaashi. He, too, seems incredibly bored but his hardworking nature has him at least trying to focus on the professor despite the pen in his hand drawing circles on his notepad.

When he looks over at you, a small smile on his lips, you’re quick to turn away with a blush on your cheeks.

At thirty minutes, your phone is dancing on the edge of thirty percent. It’s enough to get you to start looking through your phone and you find yourself once again clicking on Akaashi’s email. You lean your arm onto the desk, tilting your body just enough that you think he wouldn’t be able to see that you’re looking at his boyfriend application.

You’re skipping passed official details, instead ceasing the scrolling when you reach his skillset. It’s all very professional sounding despite him referring to relationship and dating. It makes you crack a smile, you want to laugh out loud and not because it’s funny but because it’s actually really cute.

One of my skillsets is my height, considering your shorter height, I will be able to provide assistance whenever needed. While I may once in a while enjoy your smaller stature, I will try not to bring it up repeatedly to spare you of your feelings.

You bite down on your lower lip, suppressing the immense grin that wants to grow on your face. Through the strands of your hair, you peek another glance at him. This time he’s removed his glasses, rubbing his eyes slowly, a small yawn falling through his lips.

My biggest weakness is my busy schedule. I spend most of my days working part-time at the campus library and studying. As a literature major, I have multiple readings, essays, and assignments which may hinder my time to have a steady relationship but I believe that this weakness will later play a role as a strength in how devoted I am to what I love.

Well, that just made your heart skip ten beats.

My future goals include working as an editor, but right now my shorter-term goal would be to graduate with my literature degree on time. Another short-term goal I had developed over the semester was to ask you out on a date.

Your stomach spirals, you’re internally groaning at how cute this actually was.

“There’s twenty minutes left of class, during this time I’d like you to discuss with your revision partner about your last draft.”

Shit. You’re screaming in your head because this was not happening. Now you had to talk to Akaashi. The voices of students have now taken over the classroom, when you turn to look at Akaashi, a meek smile on you as he’s staring with his head tilted.

“Are you alright?” He’s asking so nicely, his voice soft and genuine. It feels like forever since someone has been so sweet to you.

Your hand reaches to scratch the back of your neck, a weak curve on your lips, “It’s been a pretty hectic twenty-four hours.”

Akaashi leans on his desk, cheek pressed against his palm and he’s asking, “Do you want to talk about it?”

Your lips fall into a small pout because he’s just so sincere. He’s always been. Maybe that was why you had just the teeniest of crush on him earlier in the semester because he remembered the small details. When he noticed you switched from coffee to tea, you ranted to him for five minutes about how your boyfriend was adamant on you changing your lifestyle by switching to healthier options. The next class time you had together, Akaashi brought you coffee because as long as your boyfriend didn’t know then it was alright.

“Are you sure you want to listen to me?” You quirk a brow at him, “Because I’ll talk for the rest of the time.”

Akaashi sits up straight, flipping his notebook, pen ready in hand, “I must have forgotten to list listening as one of my strengths.” Your face burns all of a sudden, he has the smallest smirk on his face when he turns back to you, “I’ll take notes, tell me what’s wrong.”

You’re not used to someone listening to you, you’re used to someone interrupting you. It felt awkward at first, just letting everything roll off your tongue, and your eyes keep darting to the way his pen moves against his notebook. Was he actually taking notes of your rant? When you finish, he’s smiling, there’s a warmth to his grin that has you internally groaning.

“What did you write down?” You’re leaning over now, trying to get a good look at his notebook and you don’t even notice that the embarrassment in you has lifted. You’re no longer plagued with awkwardness like you were an hour ago.

Akaashi tilts his notebook for you to clearly see his handwriting. A wide smile taking over your expression. She’s cute when she’s talking. He was indeed more straightforward than you had imagined, you pictured him as shy and cute, while he was definitely the latter, he came off boldly.

“If I have to be honest.” He states suddenly, “My friend threw together that application and then sent it to you and then messaged you.” Your expression falters but he’s adverting his eyes just slightly, “I was too shy to try and message to ask if you were alright and well, my friend tends to get a little out of hand.” He’s grinning once more, rubbing the back of his neck, “I guess it sort of worked out in the end.”

The professor’s voice draws your attention, “Once you’re done discussing with your partner, you’re free to leave.”

You look at the time, sparing a glance to Akaashi, “I’m sorry, I have to get to my next class.” You’re shoving your stuff into your backpack and he also quickly packs up.

“I’ll walk you.” He’s so eager that he almost knocks over his coffee cup, “I mean if it’s alright with you?”

“Sure, my next class is.”

Akaashi interjects, “Intro to Business, across campus.”

You’re surprised he remembers, a little impressed that it feels like he’s leading the way to your next class. For a moment it’s silent, you can tell he’s a little nervous but heck you’re also very nervous.

“You said two other guys sent you an application?”

Slowly you nod, “I mean one’s definitely a no, he’s just so cocky, definitely not my type. The other?” You think for a moment, “He’s really nice, funny, and we’ve kind of built up a friendship over the semester.” You notice how silent Akaashi has suddenly fallen.

“So.” Akaashi is quiet, “Then you would say that I’m up against him?” The two of you have stopped in front of your class, Akaashi staring down at you; the look in his eyes suddenly changes. He was getting competitive, “I’ll make sure to win you over.”

Your cheeks dust with a blush. He’s suddenly digging in his bag; he pulls out a baseball style cap. His hand tugging back your hood, undoing your sloppy bun to let your hair fall down. Your heart races at the way he sneaks in a stroke through your hair before fitting the cap onto your head. It’s loosely hanging until he leans into you, he smells of a deep forest and you’re tempted to just wrap your fingers on his t-shirt and pull him in a little bit more.

“You’ll probably be more comfortable with a hat than a hood.” He pulls away once he’s fixed the strap but his scent lingers momentarily, “You should get to class.” He states sweetly, taking in the cute way you’re trying to hide your face with his hat.

“I’ll message you.” You say as you slowly hang around the doorway to your class, “To return the hat.” And possibly more. You think.

The moment you turn away, a blushing grin on you with your heart beating rapidly; everything stops when you come face to face with Kuroo Tetsuro. He’s got a cheeky look on him, slightly eyeing the man still lingering outside of the classroom. The two men meet gazes and there’s a sharp sting between the two; an acknowledgement of an opponent.
