OC-Tober Day 1: Fave OC

The OC that I've been rotating in my brain the most lately is Niri! It's from my Murderbot Diaries fic titled Old Unit, Young Unit. This is the first time I've drawn it and gotten pretty close to how it looks in my head! On the left is how it likes to dress when it gets to choose its own clothes, and on the right is (one of the many) uniforms it's worn on contract.

Apex predator of the deep!

LOVES caring for Gl'bgolyb, gives her an excuse to hunt all day long (though she tries to go for chargeless Lusii when she can help it)

Likes catfish due to them not being rated highly as powerful predators, giving her the element of surprise (she also thinks they look adorable and doofy, has this same opinion of eels and sharks and other scary sea beasties)

Sees both sides of the argument about Alternia's current state from her friends Feferi and Sollux, believes she'll find some compromise that will magically make everybody happy and claims to be 'working on it', but she really isn't.

Still a roleplayer of sorts, lurks in online spaces under hemoanonymity to try and scope what 'the people' want from her, including a second Trollian account.

The Komakusa blooms of Madame Komakusa

Sannyo has a surprising amount of interest in branding.

clothing, betting markers, trays. Maybe it's like a modern casino? it would be funny to think she offers cups or coasters with that logo too.

It shouldn't come as much surprise that when Sannyo is looking for an appropriate logo for the Komakusa Den, she went with her namesake.

The "Komakusa" or Dicentra peregrina. Is a mountain flower that grows in rough environments. it's a flower associated with something unobtainable, a supreme beauty, or a prize out of reach.

A smart choice for a logo, it is an incredibly distinct looking flower after all. (Yet it's hairstyle is somehow incredibly familiar looking)
