Plans to put a big Mamizou in some prime Wplace real estate and get Sannyo a friend

So on Wplace this big guy popped by Sannyo while liberating vagus, like 114 pixels high to like 70 around the head to over a 100 wide at the shoulders. He was seemingly a brief prank and nobody seems to care if hes messed with. Does anyone want to help me make Sannyo a big friend?

I think i may have leafed him a little far to the right but she can just leave her fluffy tail in the background of stuff if she bumps into art. Im not sure about these colors though, they're kinda tough for me to distinguish. Even if the semi monochrome is super stylish.

Its red shades work here but using the color palette for Wplace she might come out a ginger Tanuki.

Anyone got an idea for color substitutions?

Now that you mentioned it im really surprised the New Vegas fans didn't jump in on all the new space with everyone else when they saw keeping something like a Sannyo on there was possible. They might have been busy making repairs. While keeping track of my tiny Sannyo under Mr House Ive witnessed them constantly getting pranked and doing repairs. Ironically for your comment I cant find what happened to their NCR flag. Ceaser's legion is still around though. Their Vault boys keep getting new faces. That Nuka Cola used to also used be a normal Cola but it got attacked and they turned it into a Quantum. I think they never went above that Nuka Cola any deeper into North Vagus cause they keep getting pranked. Aww rechecking their work, that poor stylized pixel NCR Ranger was really cool looking and just got blacked out.

These little pixel wars are far more entertaining than they should be.

Touhou 18 in the 2025 Popularity Poll

I had fun putting these charts out for the last poll, so I decided to do it again. I said a bit on last year's chart and it was basically "the Popularity Poll should just give us more votes" because there are way too many characters and not enough votes to go around. It's just very hard to believe the placement of some characters e.g. Urumi having a truck load of fanart in 2024... and still placing in the bottom 10 of Windows characters.

While 2024 was a pretty good year to be an Unconnected Marketeers character, 2025 was not. I don't think this drop was necessarily exclusive to Touhou 18, but I haven't checked every game, I've only confirmed a general drop for more recent Touhou games. Overall, only Megumu really made out like a bandit, climbing by 13 spots. The rest of the cast dropped by more spots combined than other Touhou 18 characters gained.

Megumu retaining her spot as the #1 Marketeer is interesting. There's no way to know if she'll keep this up, but Megumu is fairly unique for a Stage 5 boss so she might do it? Rather than being an underling of the Stage 6/Final Boss of her game, which is a fairly common dynamic, she's the superior of a more popular character, Aya.

This might explain Megumu being able to overshadow Chimata; Aya gets more fan content and you're more likely to see Megumu pop up in an Aya story, so Megumu is more visible to certain fans than Chimata, who could show up in Aya stories, but probably has to rely more on general Touhou 18 fanworks (and we all know how neglectful Touhou fans can be of later games). This is all just speculation, maybe Chimata or Tsukasa will reclaim their spots as No. 1 and it'll just be an endless war between those three.

I don't have a lot to say on the other characters, I still believe that a lot of poorly performing Stage 1-3 bosses from newer games are because of the only 7 votes allowed in a poll with 150+ characters.

Saying that, I think it's possible some of these characters are genuinely unpopular (like Nemuno) and out of Touhou 18's cast, I suspect the "unpopular one" might be Misumaru. Just because ZUN hasn't give her much to work with. According to the Touhou Wiki, her only appearance since Touhou 18 has been on the fortune slip thing that it seems like every character received.

Mima and Misumaru: Gensokyo's First Dynamic Duo

Long before Reimu and Marisa were even born, a young goddess named Misumaru receives an unexpected visit from a human named Mima.

Sannyo is moving up in the Touhou popularity polls (just not relatively)

Even if it looks like a loss due to falling in position, Sannyo got more points and more 1st place votes this year!

51 more points and 5 more first place votes. She only fell because there were 7 new characters and several surprising bottom character spikes.

Most importantly, she still beat Anxious Mustached Villager!

Instinctively youd think this was due to the point system change, but Sannyo got 51 more points and 5 more 1st place votes. She only increased by a realitive 11 from last year's 1st place votes and 15 from these 5 new ones, so she's got 25 new traditional points and 15 1st points.

Unfortunately. This doesn't change the fact that Sannyo is among the lowest rated Windows characters this year.

But she's still gained fans and beaten Anxious Mustached Villager.!
