1. Canon I outright reject

I still sometimes get annoyed by this, like genuinely ALW or whoever can truly fuck off if they think Demeter's singular noteworthy skill is 'flirting'.

Also this isn't necessarily 'canon' but I can't do her and Bomba being sisters AND I can't see Demeter as being 'young' OR younger than Bomba. That woman is in her thirties. To Me.

3. Obscure headcanon

Back when Demeter ran with Macavity she was kind of his 'showgirl'. The image that kind of comes to mind is this Harley Quinn and Joker scene in that awful s‌uicide squad movie where Harley is dancing and Joker and his coworkers or whatever are all watching her? Kind of like that (but with more of a jazzy vibe)-- she would sing and perform for the cats that Macavity 'led', and would often be his hype-man and sing about his accomplishments. So when she pops up to sing his song in the musical it's a weird moment for her-- she's kind of returning to what she knows and finding comfort in that, and also feeling a little horrified in herself for finding comfort in it.

5. Best personality trait

Despite everything she's gone through, Demeter genuinely tries to see the best in everyone. For example, Bomba can be a bit callous sometimes (as much as she genuinely loves Demeter) and I do think there have been periods of their relationship that were so rocky that they wouldn't have been able to pull through if not for Demeter's compassion & understanding. (Like I said, Bomba does love Demeter, but in Bomba's own words, she's 'not good at loving things').

And this can be a genuinely hard thing for Demeter to do, but it's something she puts a deliberate effort into all the time. She doesn't want Macavity to dig his claws into her any more than he already has. Doesn't want him to twist her into something like him, especially not when he isn't even around to torment her anymore.

6. Worst personality trait

Most cats I think would say it's her paranoia. Personally I think she has every right to be paranoid, but for the others it can be difficult when something 'sets her off'. Partially because she will absolutely not back down if she thinks she or the others are not safe, and partially because it happens so often. Macavity has a lot of magical powers that allow him to be sneaky, so all sorts of strange sounds or weird shadows will have her convinced he's nearby, which can instantly turn a fun outing on the town into an emotionally draining hours-long crawl with everyone's noses to the ground in order to convince Demeter that what she saw or heard was completely mundane.

Again, I think she has a right to it, but it can be difficult for the others to contend with her in those situations.

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character

Everything about the Macavity song, man. She's interesting through the whole play, but her choreo and singing (esp 98!Demeter, Aeva May is 👌) has so much character in it, and it's one of the moments of Cats where, if I've gotten distracted while watching, my attention is immediately drawn back in.

11. Faceclaim for the role

Aeva May is my favorite Demeter of all time. Her face, her bodytype, her voice, all of her. I don't necessarily have face claims for my humanized hcs (despite thinking of them often lmao), but in my stuff she's basically a blonde white woman with short spikey hair, big eyes, and a reputation for wearing mom jeans.

Additionally, most of the cats I couldn't really give a shit about their eye color, but I love a green/hazel eyed Demeter. Something about how their eyes look so big and haunted.

16. Deepest darkest secret they won’t even admit to themselves

As much as Macavity made her life hell, and twisted her up emotionally in ways she'll probably never recover from, and stole years of her life & pounds of her innocence that she'll never get back... She doesn't completely want him gone from her life.

She doesn't want him dead, that she would admit with only some reluctance. She still loves him in some awful way, that she'll admit to herself (and solely to herself). But on top of all of that, she doesn't even want him gone, not fully. Doesn't want him to move on from her (God knows she'll never move on from him), doesn't want him to hassle someone else, doesn't want to live her days in peace. That's her monster, and she bled for it and cried for it-- for years. It took so much of her she wouldn't feel like a full person anymore if it left her entirely.

That's something she'd never even admit to herself. The fear of Macavity returning for her keeps her awake at night-- so even admitting that she feels in such a way almost feels like a betrayal of her own self.

Seriously this might be my all-time favourite fic on Ao3 (heh, ok, I have many all-time favourites), and it absolutely kills me that the author decided to orphan their account so that they can't receive our fan-love. I have come back and read this one again and again. This one takes place in Germany, with Phoenix and Miles finishing off a bottle together. There is such beautiful phrasing and imagery, allusions to the past, acknowledgement of the present, tension and release, yeah, just, just read it. You'll see what I mean. hell. yes I am sorry for bothering you with a probably very dumb question. but I have just finished reading your crow strider au and I was wondering If you had any intention of continuing the epiloige?

Hi, yes i'm working on the Epilogue. The thing is it became an actual sequel instead of an epilogue.

The main reasons why is taking so long are

there's a lot of people and a lot of event's that affect other events which makes the whole thing complicated. This added to the fact that, i'm changing the thing constantly because i fear it'll bee too mary sue or too bland and not be engaging at all. There's a lot i'm dying to show you but a lot i need to work on

i'm in the process of saving money to move out and that's taking a lot of my time, i've never moved out before, this is big thing for me because the only time i'vr moved was when i was 6, i've lived here 22 years, saying i want out by yesterday would be an understament. So it's exiting but also stressing.

A lot of my free time in the past year was used on editing the existing panels for the CSAU DUB EldritchDraks is animating

Since i haven't been able to draw actual comic since CSAU due to points 1, 2 and 3, when Gravity Falls revived i dived head first into the fandom and into making a comic because missed telling stories too much and that's now taking some of my time too

in conclusion, i need to move out of the only home i've known and not die in the process, finish the files for the remaining 2000 or so panels of the dub, finish this gravity falls comic, fix the final boss of the epilogue's script to not be garbage, and make a patreon for the epilogue so i can have a pasive income to help my rent, before i can post the continuation of CSAU. All this while working.

this is the original intro to animal jam! it shows liza around the mira statue in jamaa township, where she explains some background lore of jamaa (about mira especially), and some in game functions: moving, changing animal colors, getting achievements, and checking your gems. it's the earliest version of the lore, where "alphas" are called "shamans".

this is the first major change in introduction! the player spawns in on a ship named the blue heron, that is modeled after mira. liza is piloting the ship, and gives you an introduction to jamaa. she introduces you to some in game functions: moving, changing color, checking your gems, and buying from shops. she also gives the option to "Learn about Jamaa's history", via watching the "return of the alphas" cutscene. at the end, the boat pulls in front of jamaa township.

fun fact: this was the only introduction that you could access without making a new account! when this introduction was released, they added an option in the settings to do this tutorial! (shown in the video, i actually couldn't find a video of this tutorial that started from the create an account screen). this option was removed an unknown amount of time later

4. Peck Intro

ended: never 👍 (this is the current intro)

this intro changes the alpha greeting you from liza to peck. the player spawns into a long, forest-y room, and is greeted by peck. she takes you over a bridge to see a bunch of randomly generated animals that are spamming emotes and bubble chat phrases. she introduces you to some in game features: moving, changing color, using emotes, and checking your gems.

fun fact: from november 2016 to march 30, 2017, completing this tutorial would send you to the welcome party, an edited version of the jam session party that has other new jammers whose accounts were just created (if there were any online then....). this party had a singular clothing shop, the same "Clothing Shop" (literally its name) as the one on the blue heron. the end of peck's dialog in the main room is slightly changed to reference this party

BONUS: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TUTORIAL?:

after almost all of these intros, you spawn in jamaa township.

at first, completing the original intro would just spawn you in the middle of jamaa township and open up the jamaa journal and daily spin

but then, sometime before october 18, 2012*, the ending was somewhat changed. now it showed the avatar walking from the mira statue area to the middle of the town, and then the player was given this screen:

* why this date specifically? because this video of someone being mean to liza during the intro shows this new ending, and was posted on that date

however, i am almost certain that this was actually implemented on march 1, 2012; because that was the date that the loading screens were changed to their new (and current) format (date gotten from the animal jam wiki)

this end screen stayed for a while, but was minorly changed for the blue heron intro, and stayed that way for the first few years of the peck intro— "explore jamaa" was changed to "go on an adventure":

also, in the blue heron intro you're seen running up from the bottom of jamaa township (from the body of water where the boat dropped you off!). this is kept for the peck intro, although that direction doesn't make as much sense from that one.

when the welcome party existed from november 2016 to march 2017, the peck intro would lead to that party, but then the party had a path leading to jamaa township, in this same fashion. (video of this)

however, once the welcome party left on march 30, 2017, it seems this screen did too. because now, after the tutorial, the player automatically spawns in their den, where peck's den tutorial starts... guess our choice is made for us! (video of this). this date also marked the change in the items that a new jammer has from the get-go: originally new jammers got a sturdy table and a blue rug, but past 3/30/2017, new jammers get a rug, table, small window, chair, couch, lamp, and houseplant

speaking of den tutorials, a brief note:

ever since the peck intro, peck has always done the den tutorial. but i did read somewhere in my research that liza did the den tutorial beforehand— but i haven't found any pictures or videos on it, so you'll just have to take my word on that (if any of you have any pictures or videos of the liza den tutorial, or even a post talking about it, please send it to me!)

How to use spotify to listen to your favourite songs that aren't on spotify 👍

Step 1. Download your files through whatever method you want. I use newpipe which is a youtube client that lets you download things among other cool features. This works with mp3 and m4a files, I haven't tried any others.

Step 2. Open spotify and in your library there should be a folder called Local Files. If not, you will have to go into settings -> apps and devices -> local audio files and toggle that on and it should appear with your downloaded file (and whatever other audio files are on your phone)

Step 3. You can now add it to whatever playlists you want, however it will probably look a bit chopped. If you want to make it look nicer by adding the artist name, album cover and such then keep reading

Step 4: Ok for this you will probably need another app that can edit the details of audio files, if you are on a phone the inbuilt files app generally can't do this beyond changing the file name. The app I use is called musicolet but there are probably many others. If you are on a computer you can use windows media player or sometimes the inbuilt file explorer depending on your os (mostly on older computers). These steps will be based on musicolet because that's what I use but the general idea should be roughly the same

Step 5. Go into the folder icon at the bottom and find your file, mine are generally in the downloads folder but idk maybe you put them somewhere different

Step 6. go into the meatball menu next to the file name and click on edit tags

Step 7. You can now add the artist name, album title and cover, and clean up the song title if it says something like "SUPER RARE UNRELEASED DEMO LYRIC VIDEO". Generally to add the album cover you will need to save the image to your device and upload it but some apps can find it automatically? Although in my experience it doesn't work a lot of the time so better to just do it manually.

Step 8. Ok when you go back into spotify, in order to get your changes to the file to show up you might have to turn local file access off and on again and/or re-add your song to any playlists. Sometimes it can also fuck with any other files you have and make you have to re-add them as well so I like to edit a bunch at a time. It is a pain but I haven't figured out a way to get around it rip. But when you're done it should look like this

something of note is the emphasis on the number 3 -- the breakout happened at 3:50 on the 3rd of september which is made up of 3s considering its the 9th month and 3 x 3 = 9 (although tbf its the month where this started and is likely done for syncing reasons as well) and this is on the post right after log #33 which has a :3 emoticon at the end

the link redirects to yet another prose called "Submerged Kid" -- overall it seems to be about walter's death, fitting considering the note it's attached to simply says walter and has a doodle of what can be assumed to be walter

at first it seems to refer to (what i assume to be) walter as "Kid" before the sequence of events that lead to his death and portrays him and someone referred to as "the man" to be happy, walter is then referred to as "kid" right as he was drowning, and then "goat" when he died

"the man" is described as having a smile that captured the sun and who sung like a bird but couldnt fly so i think its safe to assume that this refers to zam

it seems walter died on "a dark afternoon when the clouds still covered the moon" when the sun was "still dead on the horizon" (twilight maybe? or maybe not since it mentions the clock striking at 2?) while zam was deeply in a dreamless sleep and wouldnt wake up despite all of walters shrieking

it also specifically mentions the 30th (i didnt watch the streams and havent caught up with the vods yet so idk if thats referencing anything) amd a red house on the street

Manually edited the colours a bit with the 3rd one with the magic wand + bucket tool so it's a bit pixellated.

Gets the idea across though ^^

With my recent colour edits up top, I think my sense of picking colours has gotten stronger.

1st one for this set is the OG.

I love 3/4 out of the 2024 batch, and 5/6/8/11/12 out of the 2025 batch.

The 3rd and 4th one (2024), and the ones from the 2025 batch feel like the kind of colours I'd pick nowadays.

Ok I actually don't have a long ramble thread like most of my posts do, cuz I made these edits on a whim.

The way I choose colours is just "Random bullshit go" /jk

Ok I'm kidding.

I mainly go off aesthetics/vibes and my preferences. 🙏

I like to shift colours to cooler tones for the overall colour palettes I choose, and then saturate red and pink tones.

I try to create visual contrast by shifting hues for shadows and highlights.

I use CSP's Adjustment Layers a lot (ie. Hue/Saturation, Brightness/Contrast, Colour Balance, Tone Curve, Gradient Maps)

I like doing colour edits for fun... They help serve as colour guides for me for when I pick colours for my own arts. 🥰🤭

I do them so I can see how the colours work together on the character's design, so I can edit/adjust the colours as needed to harmonize the colours.

It's more helpful to me than making a colour swatch.

Me: Oooo ty! I like those ones too ^^ 2nd/3rd are pretty similar except for the hue change.

2nd is more blue, 3rd is more purple. I made the last image first out of my colours edits.

I like the glowy effect I chose later. The purple hue on the 3rd and 5th one are nice hehe

Ok the 4th one is too similar to the 2nd one now that I put them all together like this

My personal faves irt my aesthetics would probably be like:

2nd/3rd > 4th/5th > 6th

(I used slashes to tie them since the colours are pretty similar, but just use different hues)

Me: Oooh I see! Yeah I remember I used to colour pick right off the original palette (official arts) and then shift the colours for my own arts.

My box au; Boxverse, an explanation and brief review of its branching AU versions:

Boxverse is a AU mainly focused on the paranormal entity from venturiantale named Cardboard Box Friend. My cbf version is possessed by 16 child souls, all who were murdered by Timothy Casket. Each kid has a specific death, a death order, and a timeline that fits together with eachother. (feel free to ask me about them in a seprate post!!) Some are not entirely human, and some have Acalacam powers (a VT made superhuman/human varient)

They possess box friend together, and the au loosely follows the first cbf video's events. Their body was made by Gregory as the kids imaginary friend. But some of the kids hold a deep grudge agsinst Gregory, as the child was forced by their father to help in multiple of their murders (trauma that ended up adding to other issues, which resulted in gregory becoming a system to attempt to keep the mind and body safe). (Side note: Gregory has a brother named Frank in this au. He didn't partake in the murder, he was on Grave Digging Duty)

Sometime after the events of the first cbf video, Gregory went into the foster system, and eventually met Toast. This follows alot of the canon video things with the younger pair. The Death Of Pie Prime comic also occurs.

(*)But during this same point in time, box friend is still wandering the world, they haunt people, explore places, have run-ins with darth calculus, gavin toast, and Ghost Katrina. Eventually they run into the house the 2nd cbf video happens in. As such, those events take place!

(*)After that time, cbf is back to wandering, lost. And they get picked up by Darth calculus again. This man sucks so bad, and does experiments on this poor box. Experiments that end up almost permanently dispelling 3 of the ghosts inside it. Harming it horribly.

(* these two things are still being worked on timeline wise)

The rest for thsi au is still wip with only vague ideas in broad strokes. But there's more interactions with PIE and that crew. Also the big hero 6 video is not canon. All my homes hate that video.

The branching au's:

Everybody Lives AU 1 (au1): the au where none of the kids die. They get close, but get saved last minute. This is mainly focused on Chao and Nate, two of the box kids, and their family.

Everybody Lives AU 2 (au2): follows the main au up until after the 2nd box friend video, and the "mirror room event" a experiment done by Darth calculus. In this au, the kids families, Leon from RE, gavin and a few others, find a ritual spell stolen from the cult Timothy Casket was in, to revive the kids.

It doesn't go perfectly, many of the kids are permanently disfigured or disabled by their wounds. This au continues with focus on each kid as they relearn life and how to live.

It is the au for This Artwork:

Everybody Lives AU 3(au3): follows au2+ a couple years more, then kills off a chunk of the kids by Timothy Casket once more. As he was never caught and was angry his kills were alive again. The box is repossessed, but in a different kid configuration (different kids on the controls then previously).

Au2: extended edition: au2 but further in the future where the majority of the kids aren't kids anymore. Focus is the later in teen years and newly adult relationships and maneuvering of the world. There is a smidgen of ship content for the newly adult boxkids. (Disclaimer: everyone in a ship is 18+ and able to consent 👍)

Like I said in my last post, it was okay, but it wasn’t amazing. Hell, when Dreamworks first announced there was gonna be a fourth kfp movie, my first thoughts were, “We really don’t need a fourth kfp movie. They ended Po’s story with the third one perfectly!” And boy did this movie kinda prove me right…

Don’t get me wrong, I liked the new characters and the new villain!! And my GOD AM I FALLING IN LOVE WITH ZHEN DUDE SHE IS SO FUCKING PRETTY 😭❤️😭❤️😭

AND PO’S TWO GAY DADS??? ABSOLUTELY PERFECT 😩👍😩👍😩

AND MOTHER FUCKING TAI LUNG RETURNING AFTER 13 YEARS???? I WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE BIG KITTY TITS AGAIN JDHSJSJSKSJSJS

and y’all….the way I held in my scream when the Furious Five appeared at the ending 😭😭😭😭

There were some amazing pros to this movie!! But for the cons…

There were quite a few shots and dialogues that didn’t need to be in some scenes...like there was the part where Po had to choose the next Dragon Warrior, and he just pointed at…himself??? Like da fuk??? And right at the end where Shifu was being bothered by Po’s…like inner thoughts or something??? Like what was the point that???

And I kinda wish Po’s battle against the stingray lasted a bit longer. Some parts just went by a bit too quickly for me. And there was just a lot of second hand embarrassment scenes bro I was so weirded out 😭😭😭

I know this is just a kids movie, but these are just my opinions lmao

I had quite a few reasons for being disappointed with this film. My number one being about Tai Lung. Ngl I LOVED that he returned and had his redemption arc!! But I wished there were more scenes of him…and I was sad that he didn’t mention a THING about Shifu. 

I know part of the movie was about Po finding a new Dragon Warrior although he shouldn’t be so soon because he’s still pretty young, but the one thing I would change in this film is to make Tai Lung the new Dragon Warrior. That way he can come back to the village and reunite with his father figure! And make him work on his redemption arc more!!

Overall, the movie was okay, I was pretty disappointed, and I’m kind of terrified about how kfp 5 will turn out (yeah it’s announced there will now be a kfp 5)…

6.5/10 I’m adding 6 instead of 5 because of my pretty gurl Zhen teehee

Marginalia #59: this reminds me of Olivier Messiaen. He was famous for using bird call as inspiration, even transcribing bird calls and writing them into his compositions.

Chant: I can kinda see how this is like a chant. It’s not got a defined meter or beat, and it centers around one predominant tone. Interesting!

Copenhagen One: super atmospheric - perfect for sleepy time. It reminds me of something in particular, but I can’t think of what. Could certainly be used as film score.

MY OC-TOBER PEICES :D + a surprise

Here’s my days so far!

Day 10 - “Your OC doing something they like” with KHAOS?!

okay- If you’ve been with my blog for a good bit, you might remember what Khaos may have looked like.. (i don’t think I posted it before-) so I decided to finally attemp to redesign him! But..I don’t really think it was a “success” overall tbh..But I redesigned Khaos so that he had more of a “digital DJ” vibe, while adding more details that point up to his origins.

Day 9 - “You OC cosplaying” with Vincenzo

I was really struggling on Vincenzo’s facial expression here, I’m trying to widen my ‘facial expression’ variety, but it often leaves me with my OC having some kind of disgruntled or discomforted look.

Day 8 - “Your OC in summer” with Aiko (a Helluva Boss OC)

Aiko is a Hellhound OC I made a few months back before summer started, and I was frantically searching for an OC for this day and I found her. I had some fun with this! This was great- and I added some new details on her!

Day 7 - “Your OC in winter” with Amora

Woo boy- this was a tad bit of a struggle due to me trying to find a winter outfit that at least fit Amora’s style (y2k-esque) other than her original outfit with fluff on it AND the facial expression problem,but it was okay overall! 👍

Day 6 - “Your first OC”

Okay- you may be asking “where’s the art?” Just..let me tell you- this is from THREE. YEARS. AGO. (2021)

Ah, the old time, right when I first started doing art on my dad’s adobe cloud account…almost good times.

Day 5 - “Your Least Favorite OC”

This was a hard one! I chose this (unnamed) OC because of how much I struggled to color them or pick colors that would fit them perfectly, so I just took one palette and put it into different shades (alternating the palette’s hue, saturation, and brightness slightly) and picked from there.

Day 4 - “first design of a current OC “ with Ceylon (ONE YEAR REDESIGN EDITION 🎊🎉🪅)

So, before I started OC-tober, I redesigned Ceylon ONE MONTH LATE… it wasn’t that bad- but I made sure to give Ceylon similar features to Hibiscus and soon enough putting those on Chamomile’s redesign! Overall, this was great! ^^

Day 3 - “Style swap between OCs” with Hibiscus and NightShade

Oh boy..THIS was a hardship, and a big one at that. I was really struggling with giving NightShade an outfit that was aligned towards Hibiscus’ fashion taste- problem is..I didn’t really give Hibiscus a fashion taste, and finishing this made me feel SO ASHAMED and a bit icky that I made Hibiscus’ style “y2k-ish”, even though I knew it was something like that (say summer/beachwear with special details but blend it w/ y2k fashion.) I felt embarrassed by this…not the best day.

Day 2 - “Your OC in Your Clothing” with Axi

Meet Axi! I made them out of boredom for a random organization called “The Blades”, she wasn’t that hard to draw- but this was well done!

Unfortunately, I have reacher the 10 image limit… ;-;..but I’ll post the surprise shortly! ^^

WHN Project stats in total Words 34,271 Documents 58 Pages (paperback) 98 Reading Time 2 hours and 17 minutes

My thoughts and feelings while I work on stuff: Really enjoying the progress of chapter three! And now that I've tabulated up these stats I can quantify that!. So close to that solid 100 paperback pages according to Scrivener.

Trying to get as much done by the 22nd of September. Like ideally draft two would be done by November, but unless the pacing of my writing increases then that's not going to happen.

However over on BlueSky someone shared D'Aulnoy Editions for their two reading periods

I think I can make the fine print qualifications. Bigger challenge is looking into what they're wanting at the moment or how they put it "currently working to build our lists in the following"

My hope is to get chapter three done and beta read before the 22nd. And even if it's a rejection then I tried and added further to my armour's thickness as it were.

Also strong belief in myself on finishing the Borderlands fic this week. Over and done with. (Also have a BIG BIG certification exam on Thursday so... let's keep our fingers crossed on that as I'm not a strong test taker). Maybe I'll try and work on that later to get the ball rolling. See what I can get done this weekend.

Started up NG+4 with Bloodborne so apparently my mind is ready to get back into the Nightmare of Yharnam. Trying to take reference photos through the monocular has been the real Hunter's Nightmare so far if you know what I mean. Fallen off more than one building trying to angle the camera correctly.

Not going to pretend that all of my writing is easy now. Because the second draft is closer to what I want then it becomes uncanny in front of me. My first instinct I have to push past is not continuing on a single word or sentence to 'perfect' it.
