I've literally never seen that mentioned and it seems...so fucking relevant.

· Perhaps a more outlandish theory, but I think the venin with the silver hair who distance wields might be Xaden's mother. I'll elaborate later, but 😬😬

· Ok well, 1. I'm fucking crying already, and 2. ► 4t3 - Island Living - Mermaid Stuff - DF & non-DF

Alright, so...this is not as much a conversion as it is a mash up (a.k.a. Frankenmesh). Here’s what I mean by that:

- Meshes: I took the tails from TS3 and combined them with the fins from TS4 (because the S4 tails have a different UV and in order to fit TS3 they would’ve needed to be re-UV-mapped);

- Textures: a combination of TS3 and TS4 textures -TS3 for tails and TS4 for fins (only because the S4 textures look horrendous in TS3, at least the ones for tails do).

PLEASE READ the details I listed under CREATOR NOTES bellow !!! 

Details:

Original meshes by EA/Maxis, I just put them together;

Ages: Teen to Elder, both genders;

All LODs & Morphs;

Disabled for random (for non-defaults);

Custom normal maps included;

Custom thumbnails for both Launcher and CAS (though the game might ignore them and generate normal thumbnails instead;

Format: package files;

Programs: S4Studio, Blender, Milkshape, Photoshop, MeshToolKit, TSRW, S3PE.

!!! The Sims 3 Island Paradise required (for everything except the male tops, those are base game).

What does this upload contain? (so glad you asked!)

2 mermaid tails named Fin One and Fin Two (DF & non-DF) from TS4;

2 female tops - non-DF - these were made by me because of -again- questionable textures n TS4 that don’t match TS3 art-style;

1 male top (converted from TS4 <-> non-DF because by design the male mermaids in TS3 don’t have a default mermaid top);

1 (pair of) stockings - DF M & F (made by me; will replace the “markings” your mermaid sims have on their legs while on land).

EDIT: On a anon's request,  I added a NON-DF version for the accessory scales. It's base game compatible, has 3 presets with 3 recolorable channels and is available for both genders from teen to elder.

!!! Attn !!! -> The default replacement tails and female tops use only the first preset because I haven’t found a way to integrate additional maps (UVs, in this case) to a default replacement.

Creator Notes:

Here’s where it gets interesting!

If you decide on using the DFs - INSTALL ONLY ONE OF EACH!!!!!!!

And to give you an example, here’s how I’m using the default replacements: Fin One for females (the DF files for TF, AF& EF), Fin Two for males (the DF files for TM, AM & EM), stockings for both genders (DF female & DF male).

As I said above the DF files have only the first preset. The non-DF have 5 presets, each with their own individual UV. Meaning I’ve made patterns out of the UVs to better emulate the patterns on the S4 tails. See bellow the difference in UVs and how they control the channels. It’s applicable to both tails and female tops. This is the only advantage of using the non-DFs in my opinion. But you can have both DFs (only one of each!!!) & non-DFs in your game at the same time and maybe use one of the patterns in the non-DF for that one “special” mermaid.

The stockings aren’t the best aligned to the UV, I’ll admit it. But any misalignments (only along the seams) can only be noticed if you look closely.

This appears to be a common issue when installing default-replacements (you’ll know this if you have DF hairs in your game). Upon loading the DFs for the first time you might encounter a texture issue where you can see the new mesh, but the texture has not loaded properly. Like in this example:

To fix it, you either take the sim in CAS with Nraas MC - Stylist (you don’t need to change anything, just get them in and out of CAS) and/or -if that doesn’t work- go ahead and save, quit and reload the game. This should fix the issues. 

For NON-DF tails it’s mandatory that you use invisible feet This is what I’m using: 1 or 2 (find the null feet files inside the download). But keep in mind that because of the way the package was constructed, Dashboard might display them as corrupted. That’s because of the age categories being all in one file and not separated. Haven’t caused issues in my game so far and I've been using them since December. Anyway, the important thing is you need invisible feet for NON-DFs.

Let me know if you encounter any issues or need some further clarification.

May I ask for your thoughts on Arcane season 2! Be as honest as you want, I ook a lot of issue w it and would love to see what other people took issue with.

well overall i was kinda disappointed HAHA the animation was so jawdroppingly gorgeous (i am going to absorb that art book into my system when i receive my copy), i just wish the writing this season reflected the visuals it was delivered with.

i'll type out further thoughts under the read more

things i really liked:

episode 7 was so peak. an ekko character episode, the whole AU deal, timebomb, heimer's silly little bard song and jayce being miserable in the canyon with the voidimals

jayvik soulmatism (edit: ok but the reveal that the old wizard who saved jayce was viktor was SO goofy i'm sorry i can't take that part seriously)

there were a few scenes here and there i loved. off the top of my head: the entirety of ep 1's opening sequence (aftermath of the rocket launch, the funeral), mel's talks with 'kino' and the build up to the realization that he's fake, vi + jinx's fight paralleling jayce, ekko and heimerdinger experiencing the hexhorrors

i liked the horror elements, lowkey wish they did more of it

sorry i'm going to rip into it for a bit:

the pacing was not great LOL felt like we had no time to marinate in everything they were throwing at us because we had to move on fast. the reason why i love ep7 so much was bcos it gave us the time to breathe

this was the biggest thing for me: the zaun and piltover conflict not being the central story of this season was a disservice to nearly every characters' arc.

too many music videos lmfao interesting how it's for mostly addressing sociopolitical issues in zaun/piltover

i think it's kinda weird u don't see ekko and jayce for a nearly whole act (considering ekko's role in saving the timeline and what jayce finds out in the hexpocalypse)

vi in particular to me felt so extinguished as a character and it makes me so mad how she feels completely shoved to the side writing wise. even her big solo character moment which was her as a pit fighter was? relegated to a music video?

did not like caitlyn by the end of it all and how they handled her character this season unfortunately made me dislike caitvi's dynamic in the finale (and i was rooting for them!!!) hence why i don't like how vi goes i'm the dirt under your nails to her at the end LMAO

i felt like the reveal that vander and silco were besties with vi + powder's mom cheapened the emotional intensity of vander, vi and powder becoming found family on the bridge and vander's decisions afterwards, as well as silco's own decision to take powder in. i'm sorry but i really don't think silco in s1 knew who tf vi and powder were (other than the awareness they were vander's daughters)

prefacing this by saying viktor is my favorite character (to no one's surprise) but i wasn't a huge fan of the direction they took him this season!! i think he should have been a robot but also he was severely underutilised in their attempt to make him the main antagonist in act 3. imo it thematically makes more sense to have the herald still be a machine. also the lack of agency in his evolution was so weird to me (though i do like the idea of jayce being the one to jumpstart the transformation out of love). i could keep going on about him lmao

Vedic Astrology Fun (Halloween Edition) Part 1

Hello! Thank you so much for the support of my last posts! I want to do something fun as halloween is approaching so if you guys need inspiration for a costume and you’re into vedic astrology, this is for y’all🫶🏾🫶🏾 (or if you want to read for fun PURR PERIOD)

The entire chart matters, but I want to focus on the main themes of these nakshatras and what colors, themes do they body the most!!

Let’s get started! I will be doing ketu, and martian women today!

1. Ketu women (Ashwini, Magha, Mula) in the big three of ketu in the 1st house y’all should dress up like vampires, goths, morticia from the addams family, or even a witch, or a ghost (corpse bride comes to mind)🧙

One suggestion I gave to my ashwini moon friend was a goth fairy😋

this ^ with a smokey eye with some design and a red lip with black liner WOULD EAT DOWNNNN

I also suggested doing the bratz fairy theme because the dark colors fit really well for ketu women (this could also fit well for mercury and martian women as well)

2. Martian women (Chitra, Dhanishta, Mrigashira) or mars in the 1st house —Jessica Rabbit, Old Hollywood Theme, Joan of Arc look, Black Widow, Sexy red riding hood theme, posion ivy, bratz rock angel, warrior character of some type

You guys look good with bold ass colors, I know the theme is red and silver within the themes I suggested but also black, and white would look great on y’all too🥰 (orange too eats down, marylin monroe’s famous lip color was actually in orange😚)

this would eat DOWNNNN on y’all !! (black and red colors look soo good on you guys)

Megan is a DHANISTHA women who eats down red in every look (she went for a scaly look and ate down bc her mars is an ashlesha which represents 🐍)

Although Doja Cat is not wearing bold colors, her hair is a greyish tone and when looking at each nakshatras color, martian women also have a silver grey color which is why they body any silver, greyish look (even if it’s only in the hair)🥰 (her sun color is blue so she ATE THIS COSPLAY UP!)

Hey gamer, had a funny idea like 2 hours ago and just remembered it again

I need someone to write an outsider's POV (like foreigner of Gotham) of someone visiting Gotham to see family, and no matter where they are, they hear about Bruce Wayne.

They hear about all the good things he's done, how ditzy yet kind he is, but also how fucking pretty and or hot he is.

Of course, being an outsider who's never HEARD about Bruce, this person doesn't care. But one day, they search him up, and go into sheer shock because Omg this man is built like a Greek Adonis, why have I never heard of him

They ask a few Gothamites, and it's revealed Gotham gatekeeps Bruce Wayne to HELLL. No one is allowed to see how pretty their Prince is.

It's gotten to the point that Bruce Wayne's wiki page image is edited so his face is blurred because seeing his face would give you a heart attack

yesssss, this is just like my headcanon that Bruce literally doesn't smile at the League not because he doesn't want to or doesn't like them or smth, its just because if Barry went "hey sunshine!" To him like he does every morning, and Bruce turned around with his real, genuine, blinding smile that can put Dick's smile to shame, about four people would have a heartattack- because seeing Bruce in a full Batman suit? They can't handle it. Anyway-

Tramer (tf is this name??? anyway) hated Gotham. It was loud, and smelly, and had the weirdest way of controlling crime. Not that he was complaining about that last one, quite honestly, because it like, worked, somewhat, but it was still weird.

He hated visiting Gotham anyway, for any reason, even if his company was paying him big money to go. No one else, strangely enough, wanted to go to Gotham to review their public service.

Tramer glided around outside for a bit, examining park benches, stairs and ramps, elevators, and streetlights. Everything, extremely surprisingly, was up to date, worked well, and accessible to all sorts of people.

"Excuse me," he asked, tapping a young woman on the shoulder as she passed. "Do you know who funds the public services?" She glanced at him, smacking some chewing gum.

"Uhhh yeah. Bruce." Then she continued on, like she had just provided him the best answer in the world.

"oh yeah, Bruce." Tramer mocked, sighing as he made his way to the closest restaurant. He was starving, and the brochure he had picked up had highlighted this one as a safe place to eat and good for tourists.

The waiter smiled at him at the door and led him to a table, placing a menu in his lap and then exiting to help someone else.

"Oh by the way did you hear what Bruce did the other day?" The man in the booth behind him was saying.

"Adopt another kid?" His friend joked, sipping his water.

"Oh I know, the new green energy train right?" the third one added.

"Shut down that power plant that was dumping waste in the Harbor?"

"Clean up the sidewalk?"

"Help an old lady across the street?"

"Cure cancer?"

"Free up all Gothamites loans?"

"Make more clothes with pockets?"

They fired the suggestions back and forth, and the first friend snapped his fingers. "Oooh, actually I wish, his brand is really good, but no, he made some new housing. Like a shelter type thing. So, y'know, Crime Alley kids and homeless can sleep somewhere else besides their abusive parents and whatnot."

The two guys hummed in agreement. "Bruce fucking rocks." The third muttered, and the two others clinked their glassed together. "hear hear."

Tramer shook his head, finishing up his burger and fries. Whoever their friend Bruce was, was certainly a good person.

He dropped a few bills on the table and left, digging the brochure from his back pocket to see where else to go. He had some time to kill, and his meal had been pretty good.

"Wayne Museum; Learn Our History." The brochure suggested as a good place to visit. Tramer shrugged, sticking it back in his pocket as he made his way to said museum.

The train, the one the three dudes in the restaurant had been talking about, arrived right on time, and was free, so Tramer took it, taking a seat in one of the very nice train cars.

"Hey, watch it." One lady snapped at her son as he caused ruckus. "You do that again and I'll dump you at the next station." She warned, an empty threat, but the kid stuck out his tongue at her.

"Yeah?" he challenged. "then I'll get picked up by Bruce and he'll give me a home that actually cares about me!" The woman, rather than be offended, laughed, snuggling her son into her arms.

"Don't you threaten me with that man." She scolded, peppering kisses onto the giggling boys face.

"Yeah," Another man agreed, also having overheard the conversation. "Last I heard, his sons have all complained about how many vegetables he makes them eat. Makes them big strong."

The boy wrinkled his nose at that and the woman glanced at the man with a grateful smile, who winked back, returning to his seat.

"Bruce is a popular name I guess?" Tramer grumbled to himself as he made his way off the train and overheard at least four other people talking about how wonderful "Bruce" was.

He rounded the corner and came face to face with a billboard.

Gotham Protects Her Own

The billboard was an advertisement for safe housing, and at the bottom, in small letters, it said "Bruce Wayne funded."

The letters confused Tramer, because usually when someone did something good, they wanted to plaster their face everywhere, make it obviously and obnoxiously known that they were a "good person"

Still, Bruce Wayne? A lead, possibly, to who the fuck the Bruce is that everyone kept yammering on about.

"Hes so fucking fine." A nearby woman gushed, biting her lip just at seeing his name. "For real." A guy agreed, whistling through his teeth. "Prince for sure." The last member of their group laughed, and they continued on, swooning as they went.

"Attractive too?" Tramer grumbled. "Who is this goddamned guy?"

The museum was, angrily enough, also very good, and he heard at least twenty more people gushing about "Bruce" especially his physique.

Tramer finally had enough. "Sorry, but who is this guy?" He snapped, asking the front desk lady.

She smirked, waving a dismissive hand. "The guy who runs this whole place. Our Prince of Gotham."

Tramer gritted his teeth. He had heard the "Prince" line far too often. "Ok ok sure fine, but whats he look like. What does he do?"

At that the lady became a little cagey, sneering. "What does it matter? Huh tourist? Just take your fucking souvenir and get out!" She snarled, and suddenly two very burly security guards were there.

"okay okay, geez, I'm going!" Tramer stumbled out the door in confusion, heading to the next door bar. If no one would tell him, then he'd just have to google it.

He settled down in a booth and tugged out his company laptop, typing in Bruce Wayne.

... absolutely nothing came up. It was as if the man had been wiped from the database.

"excuse me," Tramer called, cautious, after the woman at the desk. The waitress came over, smiling pleasantly. "Yes?"

Tramer swallowed. "I just... wanted to know, what Bruce Wayne... who, what he looks like?" He asked, very softly. The girl snorted, covering her mouth. She glanced around, checking that no one was around, and scribbled something down onto the notebook in front of her, ripping out the page.

"Here. Use this WiFi instead." She advised quietly, before exiting as though she'd never even spoken.

Tramer typed in the new WiFi and password, and... lo and behold there he was. Beaming at Tramer from the screen was possibly the most attractive man he had ever seen. He began searching, googling, reading through articles and everything he could about the man...

and came up empty. There was no dirt on him. Not one person had something bad to say about Bruce Wayne, except for the fact that was he lightly airheaded on ocassion. That was it. Coupled with his Adonis features... it was almost unfair.

"Nah I'm out." Tramer slammed his laptop and left, heading back to Metropolis. His company could send someone else, he didn't care about the money. Let Gotham have their unfairly attractive, far too nice Rich boy. He was fine with just having Superman. Completely fine.

He turned the corner and ran face first into a brick wall. Except then the brick wall had arms, and was holding him, mumbling apologies.

"I'm so sorry sir, I wasn't watching where I was going," The man apologized, releasing him slowly. "Are you alright?"

Tramer looked up into the smiling face of Bruce Wayne. And promptly fainted.

If there's an official event for you at a cafe or restaurant in another city, he won't go but he will pay others to go for him and ship him the additions you get from participating in the official event.

He has a fan account of you on twitter, retweets every art and fanfiction of you he finds. His home screen + lock screen + pfp will change every time he finds a new art piece of you.

When he sees you're a bit unhinged but very protective, he decides that he's going to make the best content for you, very wholesome content. He loves interacting with fanwork of you.

Is the nicest in your fandom. He's replying with those cute animals under every fanart of yours, like every fanart someone presses on, Luca's comment is already there.

Isn't too obsessive over you, you're just a character, he understands boundaries, he isn't too big on merch either.

But, he LOVES your voice actor's covers of about anything. Classical music goodbye, covers of songs by your voice actor is on repeat.

wants to attend your events so badly but he's a bit nervous about meeting so many people who also adore you.

If you're wondering why I didn't give a third download option with combined F&M meshes like I've been doing with previous hairs, it's because in this case it would be kind of pointless. With my own FtM conversions, I put CF & CM on the same mesh and PF & PM on the same mesh, so it makes sense to offer a combined mesh option where the child and toddler meshes are only included once. But Butterflysims made 2 different meshes for PF & PF and 2 different meshes for CF-CM (effectively duplicate meshes with different GUIDs), and there's no getting around including all of them to ensure full compatibility with existing recolors.

It has been almost a week that you did the live with Matt but each day, each hour you got fill with death threats, hate comments and etc. And all those stuff have been really putting you in a tough spot, Matt try to ask you and talk to you if you were okay or not but as always you said "I'm fine". The only reason you didn't want to tell Matt is because you didn't want him to feel bad for just putting you on his live, because he really did nothing is only the fans that was making you struggle. Although you didn't want to tell Matt about your issues and about all the his fans and stuff, you had to, one day.

Y/n has been really strange lately, like being distant to me, not talking to me that much but I may know why or why she's not talking to me or not paying attention to me that much. Is been weeks until this happened, you may still get hate comments but you let that all aside and focus on yourself and your relationship.and if there's time that you feel bad about all the hate comments you go and tell Matt and Always he comfort you.

You then realize he is a man of his word.

With his hands on your waist, you swore to yourself that you haven’t felt this more secure than ever in your life.

John Price on the other hand, was tethering-- barely able to keep his hands to himself once he got a taste on holding you in his arms.

He pulled you closer, not letting his hands leave you for a second, as he lets his inhibitions go, resulting with his arms wrapping around you securely. (That even if you did try to escape you wouldn't be able to- not like you wanted to anyways.)

Once he fells no resistance coming from you, he breathes in deep, trying to live in the moment as much as possible as you relax in his hold- both of your giggles dying out and letting the patter of rain consume space instead.

"You know," you whisper, "I hate the rain."

You could feel Price's chest rumble, and his voice respond right next to your ear.

"I know that, lovie."

You let that stew in you, humming out a reply that just came to the top of your head.

"But I don't hate it right now."

Price wanted to ask why, but he knew-- inside he knew why you didn't at that moment. Though it didn't feel right to voice his thoughts at the moment and simply holds you closer instead, hoping to reassure you through it that,

'its okay to hate things most of the time, but then like it when you're with someone.'

And he thinks to himself, maybe... it was like that with you too.

He never liked going out on dates- he never had time for those frivolous things.

He wasn't a gift giver, but always found himself giving you whatever you wanted or needed.

He wasn't a lover, but damned the world and his existence would be if he couldn't find himself not to love you.

Squeezing his arms close to you made him snap back to his reality, the reality that you were in arms-reach.

And that tether?

Now fully loose and wrapped around you-- just as his arms are.

Once you arrived back at your apartment, John knew that now was the right time.

So he tugs at your coat from the bottom of the stairs, barely able to catch you before you leave his sight.

“Hey.”

He watches you turn around, a crooked smile on your face as you copy him.

“Hey?”

“I-,” he stumbles, “-could you..?”

He lips feels dry, the saliva he gulps becomes hard to do with his throat feeling like sandpaper, his hands get clammy and he has to shove it down his pocket to avoid you seeing it shake.

You stare at him, head tilted as you return back his words to him- hoping to coax out whatever he wanted to get out.

“Could I..?”

With a deep breath, he forces eye contact with and asks,

“Will you accept this?”

From deep within the recess of his pocket, he hands you a small dark navy leathered covered box, gold engraving on its front— and it made you pause.

“John…” you step down the stairs to stand chest to chest with him, “…what’s this for?”

You wrapped your hands around his, entrapping the box between his hands.

If there was moment in his life where he felt his heart drop in- this would be the number one.

What if he overstepped—?

Moved too soon, way too early? Fuck- he just messed up didn’t he-?

“John?”

But your voice forces him to resurface from the deep spiral and he shakes his head. Splitting him from fantasy and reality.

He tries to ground himself further by dropping his head to lock eyes with you, and he swore that the stars still shined in them, just as the day he met you.

“I,” he licks his chapped lips, “I thought of you when I saw this.”

You released his hands for him to open it and once he did, you gasped, eyes snapping back and forth from the silver bracelet and his face- oh his face.

It was so twinged in nervousness but at the same time, a sense of softness and vulnerability that you instinctively knew that he never shows this kind of side of him to anyone.

“I got a couple of charms on it,” he points out with a chuckle, “thought it’d be nice to add onto it whenever we go to places.”

“Like a keepsake…” you mutter, thoughts unable to be kept within as you feel your chest tighten.

He nods, “precisely.”

“And this,” he points to the rain droplet charm, “will be a reminder of today.”

Any thought that came onto your brain was incoherent and words, if it were to be spoken right now, felt too cheap to say.

So you settle for a hug, one so tight and comforting that Price greedily wishes that he could be in it forevermore.

Eventually you had to let go, dry your eyes, and tuck in for the night.

“John!”

You call out one last time by your window, and said man turns, his usual smile softened by the glow of the moon.

“I kinda like the rain now!”

His laughter resounds through the night as he carries your words next to his heart.

Hi my lovelies! I haven't updated in so long and I'm sorry but college has been kicking my ass. (Why tf am I studying biochemistry - because I hate myself). Anyways, I hope to update my other stories soon (I've had chapters for months now, they just need to be edited lol). So for now, here's a little BES fic because I'm in love with this show :)

(Notes: Reader's father is Irish in the fic but she will not be described physically except for having super long curly hair because I like projecting my hair goals onto stories, also I will be using he/him pronouns for Mizu since they are currently being perceived as a man.)

Y/n woke up with a splitting headache from the rum she had the previous night. She made a note to self to not attempt to out drink her father, even if he was pushing 60. Rolling out of her cot, she slipped on a blouse and trousers she had acquired from a crew mate at some point. They barely fit, but it was far better than the dresses and corsets she wore whenever they docked back home.

She walked onto the deck just in time to watch over the vast ocean as they approached the isolated island of Japan. She'd been there many times in her career but had only ever been to the ports to assist with loading goods when the crew needed it. Today, there was no need. Instead, she watched with mild curiosity from the crow's nest as crates were loaded onto The Banshee.

The cargo seemed standard: silks, swords, exotic fish. The things nobles in England dreweld over. Yet the passengers were anything but standard. Y/n could barely believe her eyes when the infamous Abijah Fowler was brought on board with guards on each side of him. He was brought to the detention cell, which would have otherwise been used when her father was tired of a crewmate's drunken antics.

Y/n was so taken aback by Fowler's presence she nearly missed the passenger behind him: a young man, a few years older than y/n herself, clad in Japanese garb and yellow glasses. It seemed odd to her, as it was rather overcast outside but she didn't give it a second thought. What she was truly curious about was why Abijah Fowler was on their vessel.

As the ship took sail, she climbed down from the nest and made her way to the detention cell with a curious, if not mischievous, grin.

"I never thought you'd be joining us for London," she teased as she stood outside of his cel, as though dangling her freedom like a carrot. She did not like Fowler one bit, but she found him almost as amusing as she found him vile. Entertainment was hard to come by at sea, so who could really blame her?

"Well I for one am always happy to see you," he said, grabbing her hand through the bars and kissing her knuckles. She rolled her eyes as she pulled her hand back from him.

"What brings you back to the isle?" she asked. "My father doesn't even enjoy England, and he's still in good standing, legally speaking."

"Perhaps he's a better Irishman then me," Fowler said with a shrug. "What does it matter to you?"

The girl looked up in faux innocence. "Oh, I'm just curious."

"Well, why don't you hunt down the samurai that's on board and he can let you know why I'm going back to London," Fowler finally told her. "You've picked up quite a bit of Japanese, haven't ya?"

"Alright, I'll see you around then," she said as she turned to leave.

"You have your mother's rear!" He shouted out, as though y/n had forgotten why she had disliked the man so much. She said a silent prayer thanking the heavens he wasn't roaming freely as she roamed the ship looking for the mysterious man with glasses, which was simple enough.

He stood on the poop deck, staring out onto the ocean, as anyone who has ever treaded water has. The waters had a way of commanding one's attention.

"Hello good sir," the young woman greeted she climbed the stairs, stopping to curtsey out of habit. She'd managed to have some resemblance of good manners despite being raised at sea by a captain with a drinking habit.

The young man stared at her, which was a common response from many men upon seeing her for the first time, regardless of national origin. In fact, Englishmen seemed most taken aback by her appearance. Her hair was long and unkempt, falling down her back in ringlets instead of being pinned into an updo of a proper lady. Her shirt nearly fell from her shoulders and around her neck was a long, beaded necklace that seemed to trail down between her breasts. Y/n giggled at the man's reaction, having expected nothing less.

"Oh, I'm sorry," he spoke casting his eyes away from her eyes out of embarrassment, then down to her strange necklace, then back up to her eyes.

"Don't worry about it," she said, leaning against the Banshee's railing. "It is lovely to make your acquaintance, may I ask your name?"

"Mizu," he answered, finally less taken aback by the strange woman. "And you are?*

"Y/n," she said, reaching out her hand limply, again out of habit more than anything else. Mizu looked at her with pure confusion, almost fear. Y/n giggled again, this time to hide her embarrassment. "It is expected to kiss a lady's hand where we're going."

Mizu nodded and cautiously took the girl's hand, which was smaller then her own, and cool to the touch from the ocean winds. He kissed it with the gentleness most men she encountered lacked.

"You'll make a proper gentleman," y/n remarked as she retrieved her hand once again and placed it under her head. She scanned Mizu as had her. Admittedly he was rather dashing. So much so she'd forgotten what she was originally there to ask him. Fowler was the last thing on her mind. "What's with the spectacles?" she asked.

"My eyes are unnatural back home," he told her.

"Is that so?" Y/n asked rhetorically. Perhaps without thought for personal space, she leaned forward and took the yellow frames from the man's face. She was greeted with eyes that would put the sea herself to shame. "You needn't wear these anymore, your eyes are beautiful." The young sailor folded the glasses and handed them back to the blue eyed man.

A small smile graced Mizu's face at the first genuine compliment he'd heard in regard to his eyes. He looked over the beautiful yet foreign face of the woman in front of him. The journey to London was certainly something to look forward to now.

Rhys is a HL. He rules over the NC, including Azriel and Elain. I suspect they will disobey him, but their romance isn't just as cut and dry as if they simply decide to be together so there are zero consequences.

There is an explicit order, mating bond, and politics / blood duel at play here. All are consequences from their potential relationship.

You know who actually has zero consequences and the world would probably rejoice (minus Elain and Azriel... and Nesta) if they got together? Elucien.

Next.

Then there's the antis who go on to say "well forbidden romance is gross! If they aren't doing something wrong, then why hide it! It means Elain is cheating on Lucien!"

They're hiding it because, again .... Rhys explicitly forbade Azriel.

Elain is not cheating on Lucien because they are not in a relationship, nor have made any commitment to each other out of their own free will.

haven’t been active in the rykter fandom in awhile, but i’ve seen quite a lot of opinions floating around on here & twt that i had quite a lot of thoughts about!

someone said the show is queerbaiting… and i genuinely cannot believe how anyone can see a character figuring out his queer identity and only see the matherik ship & dumb it down to queerbaiting.

edit: i want to clarify this part i said on queerbaiting because i didn’t articulate my thoughts in depth. at the end of season 2, mathias initiated a kiss with erik ultimately implying his queer identity. and his season 3 storyline has confirmed him as a queer character, who is crushing on erik & struggling with acceptance whilst getting bullied by his ex-best friend. however, erik’s pov is open to interpretation, which leaves a lot of space for fan theories (that i eat tf up) but at the moment, that’s all they are. fan theories. erik’s actions can be interpreted as both platonic & non-platonic, and i don’t see the show dangling matherik in the audiences faces. since they’re very focused on mathias’ story and his perspective rather than erik’s. whose own story seems to focus on him hanging around the wrong crowd and his questionable behaviour. it leaves the storyline open to go down two very different routes: erik could have his own queer realisation and the two of them eventually end up together. or mathias’ has unrequited feelings for his straight (or aro 👀) friend but those feelings helped him with his own queer journey to acceptance. and i think with how they’ve set erik up, it could genuinely go either way and make sense.

^^ that’s why i believe the queerbaiting claims are a stretch.

it’s become very clear why people began watching rykter: matherik. but people NEED to remember that the show is not solely about them. it never has been. this show is about the chaotic lives of ‘sheltered’ (i can’t think of the word i’m after) teenagers who all have the capability to be stupid, immature and selfish. which yes, includes felix as one of those characters and yes, includes erik as a teenager capable of being a bad person at times.

these teenagers are also all (well almost all) capable of redemption. mathias has proved his own ability to be redeemed after his s1 antics, erik will surely have his own redemption path regarding his current s3 antics and thea is currently having her redemption this season. just because erik has been generally good in the first two seasons, doesn’t mean he isn’t prone to poor decision making & shitty actions. remember: they’re all 15-16 years old.

i’ve seen a few people suggest that the rykter writers are ‘getting off’ on or ‘enjoying’ the homophobic abuse that mathias has been subjected to, but i think that’s a massive stretch. and an extremely poor outlook on the shows writing in my opinion. many people forget that even though norway is a progressive country that homophobic shitheads still exist. and the way mathias is being treated by someone as horrible as felix & no one saying anything due to being ‘sheltered’ followers is quite real.

and when someone as jealous, hateful & spiteful as felix who clearly puts up with his own share of prejudice gets to put someone else down (someone who he also feels ‘betrayed’ by), he’ll jump at that opportunity in an attempt to make himself better and stronger. from victim -> perpetrator. i understand the frustration around this season focusing on felix quite a lot but people need to stop seeing his storyline as ways to ‘excuse’ his actions and moreso to explain them & simply SHOW his life. they seem pretty hellbent on showing you that he’s a shitty person regardless of his home life & personal issues.
