The Green Bag Challenge

Did you know that each family in this country uses 1000's of single use plastic bags every year? But what does that really mean? Well. Here are the facts and they are not pretty.

Equates to over a 100 billion bags across the country.

Average use time of a bag is 12 minutes.

100,000 marine animals die annually.

Still only ~1% of bags are recycled.

500 or more years for plastic bags to degrade in a landfill.

Well, this is your chance to start small by converting from your single use bag storage to a safe, long lasting, portable, waterproof, washable silicone bag that will help clean up the earth and better yet.

This may be from a long time ago post but how did you start a weekly eco challenge on campus and what did y'all do? I work with the Outdoor Adventure Club (OAK lol) and the Science Association at my school and this would be so cool to do!

Well we have a daily campus newsletter that goes out via email and we took eco challenges off the eco challenge website picked 52 of them and spread them out throughout mondays and sent them out with the campus newsletter! You have to click around on the website, but I'm sure if u don't have emails u can figure out another way to do it like a campus website, blog, bulletin boards?
