@vanderlustph's second beanch is now open at The Podium Mall⁣ ⁣ Food can be powerful especially that it has the ability to shape and define one’s journey and memories. Take for example the restaurant Vanderlust Bistro + Patisserie. It is a passion project born out of intense desire for adventure, zeal for food, curiosity of the unknown, and love between a husband and a wife. STAGE ONE: THE CARRINGTON

The first of the farewells was kicked off by a dinner at Chica Linda, a Latino eatery at the back of the Carrington in Surry Hills.

Thanks to those who came for the dinner or later for Messina. It truly was a really memorable night and not to mention the food was really good which shouldn't come as such a surprise cause Surry Hill usually delivers.

Food ordered on the night included:

Arepas: a flatbread made of ground maize dough or cooked flour which had a fluffy texture 

- Soft shell crab arepa with avocado and hot sauce

- Smoked pork arepa with honey chipotle glaze and pickled slaw

Bites: their menu's version of entrees 

- Black Kingfish cerviche with cassava, amarillo and chilli

Family style: Main dishes which were to be shared

- Achiote smoked chicken with tomatillo salsa

- Asado steak skewer with chimmi churri 

- Puerto Rican Roast Pork with salsa Criolla

Sides: additional complementary dishes 

- Two coloured fries which consisted of sweet potato and plantain chips

- Coca cola rice and beans which were made from deep frying the rice and beans in coca cola 

Drinks

- Jungle juice which were appropriately served in coconut shells

#RoyalCliffResort's Restaurant is on a cliff overlooking the ocean and it offers dishes whose ingredients are available in the island. Meat products such as pork, chicken and fish are all products of #SiquijorIsland and all vegetables and spices are from the garden of the people in San Juan town. ⁣ ⁣ For health and wellness reasons they use products that are fresh and always available locally. The Chef gives some twists of the menu that the owners have commonly tasted.
