Everything has been so dark and black for so long, I don't know how to get out. For the past 6 years, I've lost just about every single friend I've had. i find the old tales alluring. they may be grimmer, they may be unfiltered, but the roughness in them makes them all the more beautiful. like gems in the walls of caves, uncut, unshaped, unpolished by human hands. sure, the jewels that come from them are stunning, but can't compare with the breathtaking shine of gems where they belong to.

they're still magical, the old fairytales. the original versions, as we call them now. it's just a different kind of magic. closer. of this world. earthgrounded. while the ones disney, for example, stream, are otherwordly, the folk tales take inspiration from the world around, make it seem like we could walk outside and live in one of them.

bonfire - describe your dream house.

The Halforc shoved her thick, almost manly looking tusks forward like she had seen her younger Halfbrothers doing when they acted hard-edged. She huffed, crossing her stout arms before her chest like a shield: “No.”“Imagine things that could be but are not is for children. If I would dream about the future while I can do nothing to reach it, I would not be able to focus on my work in the present and that would be foolish. I am no fool.”, the young woman grunted with her freckled ears pinned back like an leery dog.Still she thought about it.Mar was humble. She did not needed much to live. 

If she would have a place to build her own home, not her dream house, but simply a home, it would be a grubhouse  as she had often helped building those in the WIntertime when the number of people living in her village would grow until spring when the wanderers and pirates would be able to leave again. A smalll pithouse where she would cover the earthground with clay and build the walls from weaved branches covered with sheepwool and clay and top it with a roof of reet high enough that she could hung herbs from the roof to dry them.

Mar was humble. She did not needed much to live and be happy. 

If she would have a place to build her own home, not her dream house, but simply a home, this pithouses walls she would isolate with thick cloth and sheepfurs to keep the warmth inside in winter. If she would keep the walls as only clay, she would be able to draw on the walls, what she saw, what she had expierenced, what she had heard about, like the stories drawn on the walls of the townshall in her homevillage. The earth of the ground would make it easy to keep the fireplace from taking over to the walls and Mar could make her bed as near to the fireplace as she could to sleep warm and safe.If the walls woudl be high enough, Mar would be able to put up a warp-weighted-loom to weave just as her Fostress had always done while she had played by the womans feet with her toys. Maybe - and Mar banned this thought hasty, panicky, sad in the back of her mind like a dirty secret or a nightmare or a beautiful dream, in this house there even would be a child playing by her feet.  And if Mar  would be lucky, she could even lay out a herbgarden beside the house and build a small pit-hut beside it to store her supplies in the coolness of the earth for months and years. The Winters would be cool. The summers would be hot.But it would be hers, hers, hers.

Mar was humble. She did not needed much to live and be happy, but she was too pragmatic to even dare to imagine it.
