@trondopeacekeeper "I have been quite thinking about you this whole time..."
Tumblr media
"You did...?" Spring was puzzled at this dragon's words. "Why so?" She added as she floated towards him, hair swaying, eyes blinking in confusion.
Why would a dragon think about her?

I don’t know if I’m terminally online (I haven’t gotten out much all winter tbh) or if I just get stressed about online “debates”, but whoever said that “phones never appear in our dreams” is wrong. I woke up twice thinking someone replied to a comment I made yesterday with something weird, only to realize that I had not actually grabbed my phone off my nightstand, checked it, and then fallen asleep again
#emma posts#the funniest part is that I don’t even have YouTube notifications on. dream me just was cool with people starting shit every day#it hasn’t only been YouTube. but last night it was#and you wake up because the reply is so infuriatingly stupid that you can’t sleep I guess#‘you said that species went extinct relatively recently but they went extinct 10000 years ago’ you fucking idiot! do you know how long life#has existed on this planet? end of ice age megafauna extinctions were recent! so recent that some plant species have made combacks after a#similar enough animal became introduced into the ecosystem again#or even other animal species#do you know how amazing that is and how recently the neich had been abandoned? DO YOU?!#life has been on this planet for. quite possibly. 1billion years if the oldest evidence is accurate#that is 1/4th of earths history! possibly less. still unfathomably long#now to the ice age extinctions is practically NOTHING#and I was so aghast at the concept that the commenter would reply with that. that I woke myself up#the next time I woke up it was because my brothers cat got sick on the floor#once you’ve had cats living with you for a daceade the sound WILL wake you up#other people online: you never use your phone in your dreams#me. who has been on this hell site and another before it for over a decade: awakens from a nightmare where I can’t escape terrible online#debates or harassment because for some reason I can’t look away from my phone or block people.#I wish i didn’t have dreams with my phone in them#wakes up from a nightmare where I’m being cyber bullied for something stupid af#wishes i could sleep without my phone showing up in my dreams#this isn’t a tumblr thing exclusively. this has to do with rsd and people telling kid me to kms the first time I got a deviantart account#‘omfg. you’re so stupid’ wakes up

Day 47/100
Woke up and took my sister for a ride.
Stopped at a local coffee shop before heading to do some shopping. We went to quite a few locally owned stores we had never been to before, and had a blast!
Got home and worked on my web development final.
Took a reading break with the baby outside, enjoying the lovely spring weather.
Time for my of my final before bed.

Chapter 3: Entangled Ambitions - A Pact Sealed in Royal Halls
Tumblr media
Pairing: Gojo x fem!reader
Warnings: reader's death, language
Genre: Isekai, Romance, Fantasy
Synopsis: Your life takes a tragic turn as you perish in a car crash, only to awaken in a whimsical world of fantasy with none other than Jujustu Kaisen characters as its main protagonists. But as if that wasn't enough, you're about to marry the prince version of Gojo Satoru. How will you navigate through this world of history and fantasy? Does your life take the same sudden twist of fate as that of your favorite characters?
<- Previous Chapter l Next Chapter ->
Tumblr media
Satoru’s heart stops beating for a moment, eyes widen at the harsh words you just spit at him. How would someone like you know about his powers? He was always keen to hide them, never used his abilities in the presence of someone apart from Suguru and his family. He doesn’t even know you that well. You, the daughter of Naobito Zenin. How on earth did you find out?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
You clear your throat, nerves threatening to fail you. This is the only chance you have left. If Gojo Satoru doesn’t rethink his decision…No, there is no way you’ll die again.
“I am talking about your ability to manipulate the area around you freely, the fact that you can distort space. You are also able to create barriers and voids that nullify any incoming attacks, which makes you almost invincible in battle and is responsible for your great reputation as a fighter. But if your followers get to know about the real reason behind your skills…You know how great the fear of people with special powers is in this country, that all of them get executed. Not even Your Majesty will be spared from this.”
You are walking on thin ice. He is the prince, after all. So much higher in his rank that it would be easy for him to get you executed due to false accusations. But this might be the only card you have left, your last spark of hope. If Gojo Satoru won’t marry you, your father will let you get killed. And apart from that, this might be the only chance you’ll get to meet your favourite characters. What about Geto and Nanami? If Naoya and Gojo exist, they are definitely somewhere in this world as well. You are literally living the dream of every anmie and manga fan.
Well, except for the stinging fact that you call Naobito your father and Naoya your stinky brother.
“That are some heavy accusations you’re throwing at me, Lady (y/n). You know as well as I do that I could get you executed right on the sport for your unwise words despite the fact that you are a daughter of the Zenin family”, he replies.
The way he crosses his legs while smiling down at you arrogantly makes the urge to fall onto your knees and beg him for forgiveness grow louder and louder. But no, this is exactly what he wants. At the moment, all Prince Satoru does is playing and testing you. You can’t allow yourself to be messed with. After all, he has absolutely zero clue about what he is in your old world, that you actually died and reincarnated here. He definitely does know that your life depends on his mercy, though. And that your proposal benefits both of you.
“Why did you decide on marrying me in the first place? Was it because you fell in love with my portrait or rather because your family forced you to choose a wife and you thought I wouldn’t cause trouble because I’m a Zenin, because you considered I would urge to get away from my possessing family as soon as possible?”
Threatening him any further has no use. After all, Gojo is aware of the fact that you know about his hidden talent. Instead, you should focus on things you can actually prove, things that are obvious.
“You are a very loudmouthed young lady. I expected you to be more sublime. As a member of the famous Zenin family, you sure got taught etiquette and obedience from a young age, didn’t you?”
He can’t help himself. Just one look into your glimmering lavender eyes makes him provocative you even further. Of course, every little thing you said is true. Yes, your words are a serious threat on his way to the throne. Yes, his family does in fact urge him every single day to decide on a wife. Your proposal is the best solution for both of you, allows him to carry on with his unbothered life without the responsibility to satisfy his finance’s needs. But still…
“I couldn’t care less about my ancestry, Prince Satoru. All I care about is my own freedom”, you clarify, determination dripping from each and every pore of your face.
“And if you don’t decide on helping me, I have to find another gentleman who suits my requirements better.”
“Another gentleman? You are aware of the fact that I’m the prince, right?”
Out of all the arguments you brought up in this conversation, this one is the one that bugs him the most. Out of some strange reason, the sheer thought of you getting promised to another man doesn’t sit right with Satoru.
“As a prince, you are far above my status anyway. If it weren’t for politics and the reliability when it comes to the advanced weapon technology of my family, I wouldn’t even be considered as your fiancé”, you argue in all seriousness.
“What if I don’t allow you to marry another man?”
“Then I will find my ways to do so.”
“Fine, I will propose to you at the ball this weekend.”
Waitwhat? After all the arguments, the discussions and the stinging fact that he stares at you with narrowed eyes, he actually agreed on it? Just when you’re about to thank him and leave, he gets up and opens his full mouth.
“But I want to re-arrange the conditions to suit my needs as well.”
Your pounding heart almost stops inside of your chest. For a moment, you just sit there and stare at him plainly like an idiot. Gojo Satoru, having conditions? This definitely doesn’t sound appealing at all. But do you really have another chance? It might be true that you are able to find another gentleman, the anger of your father will carry on, though. And who knows if he wouldn’t kill you even if you marry another wealthy man. No, this engagement is your best and eventually only option.
“What conditions are we talking about, precisely?”
“Once a week, I am allowed to present you as my fiancée in a way I will decide on my own. As the prince and future ruler of this country, I need to reflect a strong relationship with my future queen to the outside. It has to be credible. Everyone must think that we are deeply in love with each other, Lady (y/n).”
Shivers run down your spine before you’re able to stop them. Just one look into his blue thirsty eyes…This man won’t touch you even in your sleep. Doesn’t he have multiple young women just waiting for a chance to hit on him? Playing his wife for an additional day of the week. How wasteful, considering that you’ll never be more than his fiancée, that this engagement will get cancelled the minute it doesn’t benefit both of you anymore.
“I will fulfil my role over the span our engagement last and accept your addition, Prince Satoru.”
“Great! Now that this is out of the way, let me tell you one last thing.”
Before you’re even able to react any further, he grabs your arm and pulls you close. For a moment, you forget how to breathe, your nose tingling by the exquisite scent that radiates from him. You actually never wondered about the way he smells. But now that he is so close you would be able to touch him, so close that you can feel his breath brushing over the bare skin of your face, heat begins to crawl up your spine. Suddenly you feel like fainting, the immense presence of him standing this closely to you simply taking your breath away.
“If you decide on betraying me by telling anyone about my secret, I will execute you. There are no real feelings between us, I won’t even bat an eyelash.”
“First, make sure you keep your end of the bargain, Prince”, you bite back out of instinct, holding his gaze without any mercy.
Does he really think you’re scared of him? He might be Gojo Satoru, the honoured one, the strongest, the prince of this country. You might have been surprised by the way he grabbed you out of thin air. You are still (y/n), still you.
Instead of backing up, you take another step towards him and grab the collar of his elegant jacket. But you know all of his dirty little secrets, parts of his past and future. You are definitely no one to be messed with as well.
“And make sure you don’t disappoint me.”
You let go of him as sudden as you grabbed him, creating a safe distance between both of you by crossing the room and coming to a stand in front of the exit.
“Send me an invitation to the ball along with a pricy bouquet of lavender flowers. It was an honour to visit you, Your Majesty. I am looking forward to our next meeting.”
One last polite curtsy, one last elegant smile. But just when you’re about to call the waiter in order to open the door for you, it swings open by itself.
And your cheek clashes into something particularly hard.
“Oh no, I am beyond sorry My Lady! I wasn’t aware of your presence!”
That voice…You get greeted by a pair of the manliest hands you’ve ever seen, hands gliding up his definitely toned arms. He lifts you off the ground as fast as you stumbled onto his, arms holding you into place tightly.
“You must be Lady (y/n), what a pleasure to finally meet you. I am Sir Geto Suguru, the steward of Your Majesty.”
“S-Suguru?”
Your widen eyes focus on his face in an instant, heart almost beating out of your chest. All those times you admired his drawing, the way he acted so elegantly. The countless fanfictions you’ve read with this exact first meeting.
Only to end up with him in bed later on.
“That is my name”, the man in front of you replies along with a small laughter.
That smile. That oh so charismatic smile. And that manly smell, a mix of mint and leather. You force yourself to gift him with a smile and create a safe distance between both of you. So this is him, the best friend of Gojo Satoru. Even in this world, you can tell how close they are to each other.
Will it stay like this, though?
“I’m sorry, I must have hit my head a little too heart”, you comment, finally ripping your eyes away from his brown ones.
“Do you know each other?”, the firm voice of Prince Satoru interrupts.
A look into his face tells you that he isn’t amused by this sudden meeting at all.
“I’ve never seen Lady (y/n) apart from the portrait that was sent to you, Prince Satoru. But may I say, you look even more mesmerising in person.”
“Weren’t you about to leave when Sir Geto arrived, Lady (y/n)?”
Gojo smiles at you without his eyes, a cold glare decorating his face that is definitely supposed to intimidate you.
But instead of backing up, you take a risky step towards Geto Suguru and bow oh so sweetly.
“Oh Sir Geto, I don’t deserve your kind words. After all, it is you who is a feast for my eyes. No excuse me gentlemen, I still have lessons to attend. I hope we’ll meet each other again this weekend, Sir Geto. Have a nice week, Prince Satoru.”
Without gifting him another single look, you turn on your heel and walk out the door.
You did it. You convinced him to propose to you. But…is this really what you want? Is Gojo Satoru really what you want? Just the way he stared at you with arrogance dripping from each and every poor. Urgh, you fucking hate him. There’s no way to deny that he’s driving you over the edge. Why on earth does it have to be him? Why not Geto, what about Nanami?
Why does it have to be Gojo Satoru?
“She seems like a really nice young lady”, Suguru comments visibly amused while sitting in your former place.
“What your tongue, Suguru. She will me my fiancé after this week is over.”

The explanation behind February’s full Moon name is a fairly straightforward one: it’s known as the Snow Moon due to the typically heavy snowfall that occurs in February. On average, February is the United States’ snowiest month, according to data from the National Weather Service. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver, who had visited with the Naudowessie(Dakota), wrote that the name used for this period was the Snow Moon, “because more snow commonly falls during this month than any other in the winter.”

Imbolc is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of spring. Most commonly it is held on January 31 – February 1, or halfway between the winter solstice & the spring equinox. The holiday is a festival of the hearth, home, a celebration of the lengthening days & the early signs of spring.
The word "imbolc" means "in the belly" and refers to the pregnancy of ewes at this time of year. The term "oimelc" means ewe's milk. Around this time of year, many herd animals give birth to their first offspring of the year or are heavily pregnant & as a result, they are producing milk. This creation of life’s milk is a part of the symbolic hope for spring.
Imbolc is mentioned in some of the earliest Irish literature and it is associated with important events in Irish mythology. It has been suggested that it was originally a pagan festival associated with the goddess Brigid and that it was Christianized as a festival of Saint Brigid, who herself is thought to be a Christianization of the goddess.
Some use Imbolc to celebrate the longer days which herald the return of Spring & The Goddess's recovery from giving birth to The Sun (The God) at Yule. The God & The Goddess are children symbolizing new life, new beginnings & new resurrections.
Related festivals:
• Groundhog Day-  Is a tradition observed in the United States & Canada on February 2 of every year. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day & sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den & winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early.
While the tradition remains popular in the 21st century, studies have found no consistent association between a groundhog seeing its shadow & the subsequent arrival time of spring-like weather.
•St. Brigid's Day- 1 February. It was originally Imbolc, the first day of spring in Irish tradition. Because Saint Brigid has been theorised as linked to the goddess Brigid, some associate the festival of Imbolc with the goddess. St. Brigid is the patroness saint (or 'mother saint') of Ireland. She is patroness of many things, including poetry, learning, healing, protection, blacksmithing, livestock & dairy production. In her honour, a perpetual fire was kept burning at Kildare for centuries.
A recent campaign successfully established her feast day as a national holiday in 2023.
• Chinese New Year- (February 10th) the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. In Chinese, the festival is commonly referred to as the Spring Festival,- marking the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season. Observances traditionally take place from Chinese New Year's Eve, the evening preceding the first day of the year, to the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between January 21st & February 20th.
The Chinese New Year is associated with several myths and customs. The festival was traditionally a time to honour deities as well as ancestors. Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the New Year vary widely & the evening preceding the New Year's Day is frequently regarded as an occasion for Chinese families to gather for the annual reunion dinner.
It is also a tradition for every family to thoroughly clean their house, in order to sweep away any ill fortune & to make way for incoming good luck. Another custom is the decoration of windows & doors with red paper-cuts and couplets. Popular themes among these paper-cuts and couplets include good fortune or happiness, wealth & longevity. Other activities include lighting firecrackers  & giving money in red envelopes.
•  Candlemas- is a Christian feast day on February 2nd commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple. It is based upon the account of the presentation of Jesus in Luke 2:22-40.
While it is customary for Christians in some countries to remove their Christmas decorations on Twelfth Night, those in other Christian countries historically remove them after Candlemas. On Candlemas, many Christians also take their candles to their local church, where they are blessed and then used for the rest of the year.
•Setsubun- (February 3rd) Is the day before the beginning of spring in the old calendar in Japan. The name literally means 'seasonal division', referring to the day just before the first day of spring.
Both Setsubun & Risshun are celebrated yearly as part of the Spring Festival (Haru matsuri ) in Japan. In its association with the Lunar New Year, Setsubun, though not the official New Year, was thought of as similar in its ritual & cultural associations of 'cleansing' the previous year as the beginning of the new season of spring. Setsubun was accompanied by a number of rituals & traditions held at various levels to drive away the previous year's bad fortunes & evil spirits for the year to come.
Other Celebrations:
• Lupercalia-
In ancient Rome, this festival was conducted annually on February 13th through 15th under the superintendence of a corporation of priests called Luperci. The origins of the festival are obscure, although the likely derivation of its name from lupus (Latin: “wolf”) has variously suggested connection with an ancient deity who protected herds from wolves and with the legendary she-wolf who nursed Romulus and Remus. As a fertility rite, the festival is also associated with the god Faunus.
to purify the city, promoting health & fertility.
Each Lupercalia began with the sacrifice by the Luperci of goats and a dog, after which two of the Luperci were led to the altar, their foreheads were touched with a bloody knife & the blood was wiped off with wool dipped in milk; the ritual required that the two young men laugh. The sacrificial feast followed, after which the Luperci cut thongs from the skins of the sacrificial animals & ran in two bands around the Palatine hill, striking with the thongs at any woman who came near them. A blow from the thong was supposed to render a woman fertile.
In 494 CE the Christian church under Pope Gelasius I forbade participation in the festival. Tradition holds that he appropriated the form of the rite as the Feast of the Purification (Candlemas), celebrated on February 2, but it is likely that the Christian feast was established in the previous century. It has also been alternately suggested that Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day, celebrated on February 14th, but the origin of that holiday was likely much later.

Spring, the size of a squirrel, was perched on a nearby bush. She had recognized the sweet lady as one of her own kind, more or less.
A wand, hm?
She tapped the leaves under her feet
"Psst. Have you seen some magic wand nearby?"
Some branches and leaves rustled and a root emerged to show the lost sparkling wand.
"Lady Fairy? Lady Fairy? Over here!"

"Now where is that wand?"

The Magic of Everyday: How I Find Witchcraft in the Ordinary.
🌿🌕✨
Do you ever stop to marvel at the enchantment that surrounds us, hidden in plain sight? As I delve deeper into my journey of practicing witchcraft, I've come to realize that magic isn't just about casting grand spells or performing elaborate rituals—it's woven into the very fabric of our everyday lives.
🌟✨
Join me as I embark on this enchanting exploration of "The Magic of Everyday," where I'll reveal how I find witchcraft in the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary in the mundane.
🌟✨
Morning Brew, Morning Spells ☕🔮 Every morning, as the sun rises and the world awakens, I stand by the window, cradling my warm mug of tea or coffee, or in the summer months with iced drinks (I love an iced coffee!). With every sip, I imbue my drink with intentions of clarity and peace.
The Language of Plants and Crystals 🌿💎 During my daily walks, I've discovered a secret language spoken by the plants and crystals. The rustling leaves whisper ancient wisdom, while the sparkling crystals hum with energy. Nature, the most potent spell caster, teaches me to be still, listen, and learn.
Embracing the Elements 🌊🔥💨🌍 The elements surround us at all times, and recognising their presence is a powerful key to unlock everyday magic. I breathe in the fresh air, feel the earth beneath my feet, and let the rain cleanse my spirit. When I light a candle, I invoke the transformative power of fire. By connecting with the elements, I connect with the core of existence.
Enchanted Home Space 🏠✨ My home is my sacred space, a sanctuary for my craft. I've adorned it with little altars and candles, which I light to honour the spirits that reside within these walls. Cleansing my space with smoke incense purifies and refreshes the energy, filling the air with positive vibrations.
Moonlit Dream weaving 🌙🌌 Under the moon's tender gaze, I venture into the realm of dreams. I keep a dream journal by my bedside, capturing the mysteries that unfold during the night. In the gentle light of the moon, I feel closer to the universal energy that weaves us all together.
🌟✨
In the grand tapestry of life, there's magic in the ordinary—waiting for us to embrace it with wonder and gratitude. By cherishing these moments, we tap into the essence of witchcraft, where intention and reverence converge.
So, as you go about your day, remember to pause, breathe, and observe the magic that surrounds you. Whether it's in the flight of a butterfly, the sparkle of dew on a leaf, or the warmth of a friend's smile, the enchantment of everyday life awaits your discovery.
🌟✨

Little Treasure, Little Dragon
Zhongli, the legendary dragon and god of the earth, becomes a little too attached to a human child after a fateful encounter.
Warnings: Obsession, possessiveness, blood, dismemberment, murder, death.
Tumblr media
The skies were painted red. Smoke rose from the ground and went into the skies, creating a curtain of gray that was impossible to see through. The earth vibrated furiously below your feet, forcing you to stay on the ground if you didn't want to stumble and fall again and again.
The heat was almost suffocating. The smoke created by the fire surrounding you was starting to fill your lungs, slowly clouding your vision and numbing your senses. It was a matter of time before it made you lose consciousness.
Among the vibrating red and gray, a pair of golden eyes looked down on you. A gaze as cold as ice that could only belong to a monster. The same monster that was the culprit of all of this.
And then, a golden and black scaly hand reached down to grab you.
.
You awoke with a jolt. Cold sweat covered your body, making your hair stick to your face and the sheets cling onto your body. There was a strong headache accompanying the fright, a throbbing that made you feel like your head was going to explode.
Once again, you remained unable to recall your dream. Or nightmare, more accurately. No dream leaves the host awakening with such dread that almost makes them fall off the bed. In any case, you were positive that it was the same vision that had been plaguing your nights since the news of a godly war reached your little village. It had to be, for the feeling each time you woke up was always the same.
It was like something very, very bad was about to happen.
Looking out the window, the sun did not yet rise from the horizon. It was still too early for a lot of people, but for you it was the right time to start working. Quickly getting out of bed, you gathered your clothes and rushed out of your house, going for the small lake just at the entrance of the woods. Even though you could always wash yourself at home, you needed some fresh air and didn't want all the noise waking your parents up. At times like this, you always made use of the secluded lake just before the forest. It was such a relaxing place that it felt criminal to be the only one to know about it.
The cold air of the night eased your anxiety from the dream; the rush had long since disappeared and the only thing that remained was a feeling of sorrow. It made your heart feel heavy, but you were more or less accustomed to it now. Soon you'd have to start doing your chores and then there'd be no time to think about your feelings, too busy to even think about anything other than work.
Once you arrived at the river bank, the calm waters greeted you like they always did. You had to be quick, or else your parents would wake before you returned home and worry about your whereabouts. Just as you were starting to get undressed, a strange noise made you stop in your tracks.
You were at the entrance of the forest, so there shouldn't be any wild animals, right? This place was far from the town, too...
Another noise made you flinch, quickly gathering your belongings and getting ready to flee. Oh god, was it a wild boar? A wolf? A bear? You weren't so sure you could outrun one of those.
Finally, it all culminated in a big splash at the lake. Could the animal have fallen while it was trying to drink water? You timidly looked over your shoulder to see what was happening, finding the wavy waters with nothing else on sight.
That's it. There was no way you would bathe in that lake now.
Just as you were going to flee the place, the ring of the disruption of the water made you look back and finally see what was making such a fuss. A figure emerged from the bottom, and you finally realized that it wasn't an animal but rather a person. A tall and slim dark-haired man.
You quickly hid behind a thick tree, between embarrassed and ashamed of seeing a person in such a private moment and hoping he hadn't seen you so you could quietly leave unnoticed. From the sound of it, the man only laid there, resting with his upper body above the water level and enjoying the feeling of the cold against his body.
Taking your chances, you stepped forward only to stop abruptly when a twig was crushed below your foot. You stood still for a few seconds, afraid that the stranger had heard you; but when you heard nothing coming from his end, you deemed the situation secure enough to keep scurrying off.
However, the moment you looked back ahead, you met with the chest of that same man, having to raise your head slowly so you could meet his golden, glowing eyes. Fear immediately struck you. Whoever he was, he carried an aura of divinity and power, as if there was no one in this world who could stand against him.
"What is a child like you doing here?" His deep voice sent shivers down your spine, it even made you recoil unwillingly and make your form even smaller.
"I- I..." You couldn't even finish your sentence. This man terrified you; what if he hurt you? Should you try to scream in hopes of someone coming to your aid?
The stranger noticed your fear and released a sigh. Maybe he wasn't accustomed to speaking to children, for he seemed at a loss of what to say.
"It's okay, little one, I won't hurt you. I'm not mad, I'm just worried that a tiny mortal is out here in this dangerous forest by themselves."
His words turned soft at your scared expression. The last thing he wanted was to appear as a threat.
"...I bathe here," was your answer. He hummed at that, as if that phrase made him think.
"Bath, you say?" He looked at the water. "Isn't it a little cold to take a bath in a river, especially when the sun isn't even out yet?"
He was right, but of course you wouldn't let him know that. "Well, you were doing the same thing! You're still soaking wet, aren't you cold?"
He briefly assessed his clothes - a long, white cloak - and how it was still dripping with droplets of water.
"Ah, but you're wrong there. One does not bathe with their clothes on, am I right?" He smiled. "I was simply enjoying the icy feeling of the cold water against my scaly skin."
"Scaly?" You asked, uncertain.
He chuckled. "Look."
It was hard to see it because the darkness of the night camouflaged it, but now that the man stepped closer and lowered himself to meet your gaze, the black and gold that covered his entire arms caught your attention almost immediately. The moon accentuated the golden parts; it was almost like they were even glowing.
"Whoa...." Stars shone in your eyes, and he smiled knowing you weren't scared anymore. Children should always have a smile on their face. "Are you a dragon? That's why you called me 'mortal'?"
Curious for your age, weren't you? Still, you were pretty perceptive to have guessed his true form with just one glance. "That's right, little one. I am a dragon that dwells on these lands."
If he was such a mystical being, couldn't he also be one of those gods? The ones that everyone says are killing each other, destroying the lands, and bringing down people with them?
As if sensing your sudden wariness, the stranger rose again.
"Let's better head you home," he said gently. "It's pretty late— or perhaps too early to leave you alone. Would you mind if I escorted you? It would give me peace of mind to know that you had arrived home safely."
Had you not been lost in your running thoughts about gods, wars, and death, you would've refused before he even had the chance to take you with him. It was only when you passed the entrance to the forest that you realized you had subconsciously accepted his request and began to walk hand in hand with him.
Maybe you were lucky to encounter him at such an hour, for even if your house was closer to the rest of the village, no curious eyes could notice you walking along with such a strange being.
He didn't make an effort to engage in idle chat with you. He just enjoyed the changing scenery, observing with curiosity the wooden houses as if trying to figure out what kind of life the people inside had just by looking at their homes. It was only a few times where he turned to face you and flash a kind smile, alerted by your eyes lingering too long on his face. It would embarrass you and force you to avert your gaze to the road ahead before turning to see him again and thus repeating the cycle. The silence was nice, too. If anything, you didn't expect such a supernatural being to be chatty anyway. It left you free to think about him, his mysterious nature, and what his life could be about.
"We have arrived, have we not?" His voice got you out of your thoughts, surprised to see your little house in front of you. Had you told him where you lived?
"Yes, this is my home," you shifted uncertainly in your place. How do you say goodbye to a dragon without them taking offense? Would it be too rude to just go inside the house? What if he got mad at you and attacked your village like those ruthless gods enjoyed doing?
The man, once again, seemed to notice your running thoughts, for he smiled gently and ruffled your hair. "Be safe, child. Our encounter today felt like orchestrated by fate."
Nodding, you rushed inside quietly, at such an hour your parents would still be asleep after all. Just as you were about to close the door behind you, a deep voice interrupted you.
"And be mindful to not bathe when it's too cold, little one. Catching a cold would be terrible for your health."
When you turned your head to see him, your eyes only met the dirty road that led to the village. Everything seemed in place, like that man was never there.
What a weird encounter. Were you sure that you left your bed earlier? A pinch to your cheek proved that no, this wasn't a dream. You just met a real, mystic dragon in his human form.
You just hoped it wouldn't happen again.
.
Destiny had a weird sense of humor.
Just two days after the 'lake encounter', you had the misfortune of seeing the man again. It wasn't like you disliked him or anything; you just preferred not to be acquainted with him or any other dragon or god for that matter. You knew what happened with humans got too close to other beings, and it never ended up good for humans. These beings were capable of destroying entire villages just because they were having their own war, who could guarantee they wouldn't do the same if a mere human dared to invoke their wrath?
You wouldn't like being the cause of your home downfall.
"It seems that fate has led us to cross paths once again."
Looking up from the apples in your hands, your eyes met a distinct shining amber that seemed to glow even more once it came in contact with you. It felt strange, running into him in such a crowded area as it was the village's market.
He was wearing a long brown coat, obscuring his dragon-like features that even the human form couldn't hide. The only proof of his true nature was staring right back at you.
"Hello," you kindly returned, now feeling a little awkward. Your hopes of an uneventful trip to the market now crushed. "It seems it did, mister..."
Were you in the wrong for addressing him with that title? Though he didn't seem to mind; in fact, he smiled at the prospect of you trying to get familiarized with him.
"Ah, how careless of me, I never introduced myself. My name is Morax, little one. Can I have the honor of knowing yours, too?"
He extended his hand for you to shake, his sleeve rolling a little back and exposing the black and golden scales that he had for skin.
You complied and shook his hand. His face seemed to light up even more once you told him your name.
"My, that's such a lovely name!" He complimented, taking this chance to get a little closer to you. "Pray tell, what business do you have in a place like this?"
Of course a dragon like him wouldn't have a grasp of human customs. It was kind of funny to see such a large man observing with child-like curiosity the little booths of the market, as if it was his first time seeing something like this.
And in introspective, it might've been his first time.
"Don't you gods know what a marketplace is?" You asked, amused.
"Some do. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those," Morax admitted, ashamed. "I haven't got an opportunity to get close to humans like this before."
"And why now?"
He didn't answer. Instead, he flashed his usual smile and continued to walk to admire the varied goods the people were selling. You didn't immediately follow him, but when he stopped and turned to you expectantly, you had no choice but to walk along with him.
What a strange god. At least he didn't seem the violent type. It would be safe to indulge in his presence a little... right?
This time, he took the job to fill the silence with his curiosity. "What is the purpose of that thing?", "How do you use this?", "How does one wear that?" Morax seemed to love hearing your explanations, often inquiring further to keep you talking. It didn't make sense for him not to know what a pot was, yet you still described its use to him. More than your explanations, he seemed content with just hearing your voice.
"And when the water boils, you can add the—"
The next words were caught in your throat as a hit to your back made you stop abruptly. You let out an "Oof" more because of the surprise than the pain, but your companion immediately moved to support you and check for any injuries.
"Are you okay, little one? Are you hurt anywhere?" He asked in a worried tone, using his hand to gently caress the place where you've been hit. When you shook your head, he turned to glare at the two culprits behind you. "You there! Bring forth your arms, I'll cut your hands off for committing such a crime."
When you looked back at his face, a chill went down your spine. His usual playful and warm golden eyes now glowed with something akin to rage and bloodlust. It was such a drastic change that even the temperature seemed to drop a few degrees.
You were terrified of this side of him. It looked like he would snap and start destroying everything in his way at any moment.
The two boys behind you froze in their place. They also felt the hatred directed at them, even their little bodies started to tremble in terror.
"W-we're sorry! We were just playing!"
"Please! I-I just fell over them! D-don't cut my arm off, please!"
The pair started to cry, but Morax didn't seem to be listening to their rambles. He brought forth his right hand and summoned a large polearm, making the boys shriek in horror. By now a crowd had started to surround you, whispering among themselves about the strange man with a weapon and the two crying children in front of him.
Just before this could get worse for the boys, you grabbed his free hand and fled the marketplace with him, running so fast that your legs started to hurt midway.
Soon, you both were far away from the booths, the people, and the kids. The only landscape now were the rocks and mountains surrounding you, isolating you both from the rest of the village. You bent over your knees, catching your breath. Behind you, Morax didn't even seem to be fazed. Perks of being a dragon and a god, you supposed.
He called your name softly, and when you turned to face him, you were surprised to see that the mad look in his eyes had completely vanished.
"Is something the matter?" He asked, tilting his head.
"Of course there is!" You cried, but immediately composed yourself in front of the god. "You can't just threaten to cut off people's hands! That boy just fell when he was playing..."
"It was not a threat. I fully intended to cut those children's hands had you not stopped me."
A dangerous glow was born in his eyes, making you gulp.
"I don't like people, god or mortal, even touching or aiming for what's out of their reach."
.
Morax was feeling angry. Mad. DESPERATE. The dragon inside him wanted to go out, destroy a mountain, raze a village, kill another god; anything to calm his emotions down.
His rut was coming to an end soon, and his most primitive instincts were trying to take control of him.
His new acolyte shifted awkwardly at his side, pretending that the growing pool of blood didn't make him sick to his stomach. He tried to show no reaction to it. He didn't want his master to think he wasn't up to his new role just because of some human blood.
"This isn't enough..." Morax mumbled, fixating his crazy look on his bloody hand. He no longer paid any attention to the two dismembered hands resting on the ground in a sick way.
"Does... this concern that human child, master?" The younger man asked, flinching slightly when the piercing eyes of his master turned to him in an instant. He dared not say the name, for he knew it could bring forth Morax's dragon instincts. It always did.
He heard the dragon whisper that forbidden word, and for a moment, he was afraid that he would leash out on the mountain again. "That child, yes..."
Morax let out a sight to calm his nerves down. His body temperature was on the rise, and he didn't know if it was due to his rut or his anger of the situation. He should go to the lake once more, just to soak in the cold waters like the other day—
Right, the day where he met you.
A small, human child spying him from the shadows. What a cute little thing you were. He was worried at first; he knew humans were weak creatures, their spawn being completely vulnerable to anything that might want to attack them. That was why he approached you first, to make sure you were okay and not in any need of aid. He just... He didn't expect to see you.
Your frightened form stirred something inside him, and when he showed you his scales to help you calm down... The moment he saw the awe in your eyes, he knew he was in very deep trouble. He foolishly thought that the icy waters could put his dragon instincts to sleep; but being in the middle of his rut that was making his true nature cloud his rationality. There was a voice that sweetly whispered to him: "MINE."
Dragons were such greedy creatures, it was within their nature to take claim of anything that captured their attention. Be it expensive and beautiful jewels, shining coins, extensive pieces of land... And, of course, there were some like Morax who desired to own people. A human, a god, another creature; it didn't matter as long as they had their sight on them.
So, when his eyes locked onto yours and saw the admiration you held for his skin, he had subconsciously laid claim on you. He couldn't help it, you just claimed all of his attention. It had to be okay, right? To just take you away. Your parents were irresponsible to let you out at such an hour when the world outside was such a dangerous place. There was a war among gods raging on! He knew all about that, for he was fighting in it.
Yes, a god like him was the only one being fit to take care of you. The only one powerful enough to protect you. To have you as their own. The sort of privilege a father would have.
His rut deviated in an unexpected way. It no longer edged him to mate, but to give in to his other instincts. In particular, to have a child. This child. YOU.
"They seem to be scared of you, my lord," his acolyte said. "I thought you wanted to keep watching them for a while before standing before them again."
Morax let a huff out. "This rut of mine is to blame. It's nearing its end, which means I'm succumbing to my primal desires a lot more than I would like to."
He closed his fist with such a strength that his long nails pierced the skin and drew blood from the wounds. His own blood started to cover the previous one that stained his black and golden skin.
"This war among gods is almost over, and with no other deity to fight with... It leaves room for my other instincts to take over. Without the heat of the battle to calm me down, I subconsciously make rash decisions," Morax explained. "I had not planned to meet them today, it was the dragon within me that edged me to go to that market to see them."
"I see," was the only answer he could provide.
"I can no longer wait, Xiao. Even if our encounter today wasn't part of my plan, it helped me realize that just watching them isn't enough. Do you remember all this time that I've been keeping my eye on them?"
How could he forget? Since the meeting on the lake, his master kept an undying watch on that child. At first, he thought it was because of his curiosity of the human race, but as time went on... It appeared to be more like stalking at some point. He feared that his dragon had laid claim of the kid and wanted to take them for himself. Of course, he wouldn't dare to raise this concern to Morax, he owed his new life to his master and he dared not to question his motives for doing what he did. So, Xiao just nodded.
"I can no longer contain it. I must make haste, I fear this heat in my blood will burn me if I let it be..."
Morax summoned his polearm and held it tightly between his fingers.
"I have to go to collect MY child."
Once again, Xiao could only diligently nod at the wishes of his master.
.
It was the middle of the night and yet you couldn't sleep.
After the strange day you had with Morax, you decided that rushing back home was the best course of action. The way he was acting and talking scared you; so giving the easiest excuse you could think of, you said goodbye to him and hurried home where you locked yourself in your room under the worried gaze of your parents.
It just all felt too eerie to you. Sure, you couldn't judge Morax's morals based on your human standards, but it still didn't help make you feel at ease with him. Maybe you were a fool for thinking that he wasn't like those gods fighting above you, that he wasn't cold-blooded and cruel and with great disdain for human life like the rest. Today was just chopping off two kid's hands. Tomorrow? Who knew.
Maybe it was best to avoid any contact with him if possible. It was for the better. Nothing good would come from meeting with him any longer.
Gods and humans lived in different worlds, and that's how it should always stay.
.
There were still a couple of hours before the sunrise.
You awoke abruptly, feeling the heat first before seeing the smoke filling your room leaking through the frame of the door. Screams resonated within the house, immediately alerting you and making you bolt out of the bed, opening the door of the room and forced to back away slightly due to the explosion of smoke that came with it.
It soon filled your lungs, and even if you coughed furiously, it didn't help make you feel better. It felt as if the interior of your body was on fire.
Now that you could look into the hallway, the stinking feeling of dread took over you.
There was a large fire, enormous flames dancing around your house, all coming from the living room.
"Mom! Da—" You tried to call out for them, but the smoke in your lungs made it difficult to even speak on a normal level. Your yell came out more as a whisper before a coughing fit overtaking you.
You could still hear your mother's yelling coming from the house. Did that mean that she needed help? Was your father okay, too?
Supporting yourself from the walls, you slowly walked to the center of the screams and the sounds of struggle, hoping in your heart that your parents were all right.
Rounding the corner, however, you did not only find the origin of the fire; there it was the scenes of your nightmares.
Your legs finally gave in, having lost all strength to support your body. Your father laid on the ground without moving, having a big wound on his side that didn't stop bleeding. And your mother...
She was held against the floor by a big polearm piercing her stomach. She was still alive but with no more energy to fight or keep screaming.
"Mom...?" you whispered with tears fillings your eyes. However, she only looked back at you with horror.
"Get out of here! Get of the hous—"
The removal of the polearm in her stomach left her gasping for air, unconsciously moving her arms to cover the gaping wound that wouldn't stop bleeding.
You lazily followed the weapon, and the first thing your brain could process was the staring of two big, golden eyes you held nothing but fear for.
The big figure of Morax got closer to your body, making the ground shake with each step. He had already stopped paying attention to your dying mother and the flames slowly taking over the whole house. It felt like a scene straight out of hell. His ebony and golden body against the red of the fire accentuated the blood on his clothes, his two eyes held an insane spark that a human could never have.
Was this also your end, then? Were you the cause of all of this, the one to blame for? It was all because you met with a godly being, knowing that they destroyed and took everything as they pleased?
His golden hand reached down to you; you closed your eyes again, hoping that once you opened them, this nightmare would finally be over.

The clouds parted and the sun rose warm in the sky as your eyes at last fluttered open after your long slumber. It was finally time, your season, the awakening of the earth and the beginning of new growth. You slowly rose to your feet and breathed deep of the fresh spring air, looking out at the frozen land that was waiting to be rejuvenated by your touch.
As you began your trek down from your mountain you smiled warmly, hyacinths and irises and peonies blooming each place your feet met the earth while new green life spread across the land in front of you. Frost and ice broke away from the ponds and rivers when the sun’s rays reached them. Birds and animals chirped and sang, filling the air with the sweet sounds of rebirth as they rose from their winter hibernation and came to greet you. A lark fluttered around you with a symphony of twitters before landing on your outstretched hand, preening its feathers as it whistled before taking flight again.
By the time you reached the foot of your mountain the land was lush and green, the air filled with the verdant fragrances of spring that made you feel so alive and powerful. You took one more deep breath and spread your arms wide, beaming when the entirety of the land sprang to life at once and basking in the sunlight.
That was when you heard it. That lovely laugh that lilted like a song through the air. The murmuring splashes and soft singing of woodland nymphs as they bathed. It was her. Your love. The only thing aside from the growth of spring that you longed for during your time of sleep. As you came upon the still pool where the maidens bathed you felt your breath catch, the sunlight glittering on the surface of the water and on the flawless skin of your beloved when she rose from the depths with a beautiful sigh.
“Wanda!” You let out a delighted laugh when she turned to face you and blushed, her ginger hair flowing around her bare shoulders and her blue eyes sparkling with playful desire. “I see your thoughts, my love. If you run, I will catch you and drink my fill of your sweet pleasure.”
“My goddess…” she stretched her lithe, naked body and giggled when you let out a low sound of want, taking a few steps away from you towards the opposite end of the pond. “If I did not run, you would not love me as you do.”
That was the only warning you had before she took off at a sprint. You chuckled to yourself before beginning to pursue her, your steps fleet across the green earth and making trees and flowers spring up in your wake. Her laughter made your grin grow even wider. She was right, you did enjoy chasing her down before you lost yourself in the heady pleasures of her soft flesh.
Rivers and hills passed the both of you by as you chased her, the land sloping towards the sea as you moved further and further from your mountain. Her laughter was like music that rang through the valleys and forests, birds and animals joining her song as they rose from their winter sleep. Deer and foxes ran with your beloved, their cheerful yips and cries echoing her joy and only making your desire for her grow deeper. She was the embodiment of life and happiness, of everything that belonged to your season. And though she ran and played the shy coquette, she was yours.
Wanda’s voice was teasing and bright as she called your name over her shoulder, the sway of her hips enticing you to run after her even faster as she bent to pluck a sweet smelling hyacinth and breathe in its scent. She leapt over a brook and squealed when she felt the tips of your fingers graze against her heel, changing direction quickly so you could not catch her. You could smell her. Above even the scent of the new flowers you could smell the warm and fertile wetness between her thighs that called to you.
Though Wanda was quick, she was not as quick as you. But then, she did not truly wish to be. She squealed with glee when your hand wrapped around her knee and pulled her to the ground, her eyes bright when she beamed at you over her shoulder when you pounced on top of her. The rest of her playful noises were muffled by your lips as you bent to give her the most luscious of kisses, the sweetness of her plump lips making you moan into her mouth as you pressed her into the warm earth.
Wanda laughed lightly when you turned her onto her back and nibbled on the tip of her nose, her fingers teasing along the curve of your waist. Out of thin air a honeycomb appeared in your outstretched hand, the two of you sharing a pair of warm smiles before you pressed the comb to her lips and let her taste the sweetness of spring. Her eyes fluttered as you smeared the precious golden syrup all over her full lips and let it slither over her tongue and down her throat. Your lips were quick to chase the drops that escaped from the corners of her mouth, your tongue flicking out to trace the viscous trails left along her soft, pale skin.
You dragged the comb down her chin and then the slender column of her neck. You wanted her nubile body covered in honey, to taste the luscious flavor of her sweat mixed with the sweet syrup. When your tongue dipped into the hollow of her throat to lap up the golden nectar she sighed, making you grin when the soft sound of her pleasure made a smattering of asters bloom around her.
“My dear, sweet love,” your lips met Wanda’s skin between each word. “My beloved nymph,” the honey dribbled over the gentle swells of her breasts, followed closely by your eager tongue. “How I miss you when I slumber.”
“My goddess, oh!” Her sudden gasp when your lips brushed against her stiffened nipple made Olympus yarrow join the aster that was springing up in an ever growing ring around the two of you. “I have missed you too, so much…”
“I know.” The fragrance of the flowers and the warmth of the sun bathed the two of you in a haze of passion, Wanda’s breaths turning shallow and quick as your mouth left a wake of fire along her tapered waist. “Sing your song for me, my nymph.”
Wanda groaned when you turned her so she was laying on her stomach, biting her lip when you pressed the honeycomb to the firm skin of her back until she could feel the thick, sticky sweetness creeping down the curve of her spine. Your mouth ardently pursued the path of honey as your beloved whimpered and moaned, your teeth sneaking past the cushions of your lips to nip at the small of her back. The comb kept traveling lower and so did your mouth, worshiping her perfect, alabastrine skin as she spread her legs for you and arched her back. When Wanda felt your fingers opening her up and the warm honey dribbling over the dusky folds of her anus she gasped, her voice rising in timbre as your tongue fluttered and lapped at her sensitive flesh.
Her voice was musical and dulcet as you continued to lavish her body with passionate attention, your fingers and tongue leaving her sex covered in the syrupy evidence of your love for her. The pitch of her voice let you know that her mind was fully consumed by the pleasure you were giving her, her existence narrowed to only you and the pleasure you gave her as more spring growth bloomed around the two of you. Your tongue pushed past her tight ring of muscle at the same time your fingers slipped inside her pretty pussy and when she cried out softly you grinned against her.
Already you could tell your love was close, her staccato breaths and the way her toes and fingers curled letting you know just how lost in her pleasure she was truly. Every breath and sound she made was pure and primal, out of her control as she offered herself to you as a loving sacrifice for the new birth of spring. There was nothing on the earth for her except you and your touch, the unending ecstasy only you were able to give her. Your tongue and lips kept moving reverently against the most secret part of her as her body wound tighter and tighter, her slick inner walls clenching around your fingers while your thumb gently circled her swollen clitoris until she truly was singing for you.
Wanda screamed your name as she fell apart at your touch. It was more lovely than the singing of the birds or the falling rain, everything about your beloved was the epitome of beauty. You drank up her bliss gluttonously, catching every drop on your tongue before draping your body over hers so your head was resting on her shoulder. A glade had grown around the two of you as you pleasured your nymph, poppies and anemones surrounding a sparkling pond as the shade of a fig tree kept you cool. She rolled over and let her eyes flutter as you ran your fingers through her silky hair, her own fingers trailing along your side until she was tickling your hip.
“My goddess,” Wanda purred and bit her lip as she gazed at you with adoration. “It is your season, my beloved. Let me worship at your altar so you can give the earth new life.”

calling your name Dawnbreaker/MC, implied Zayne/MC | 1506 words | AO3 The jasmine was about to blossom. A/N: I haven’t written anything in 2 years due to reasons, so lol IDK what I’m doing. I was also supposed to be working on a different LNDS ficlet, but Dawnbreaker called, so I answered, because I love him lots and want to give him the universe. Slight divergence from the end of the anecdote.
On a window sill, a small pot housing an unflowered jasmine plant was meticulously cared for as its owner waited for the first blossoms.
He saw the girl in his dreams again.
He did not dare utter her sweet name, let alone think it, for it caused him to ache and yearn for her, someone who would forever be beyond his reach across time and space.
He had gone on years and years, watching her from afar in his dreams. It felt so wrong, this feeling of voyeurism, forced to see the object of his affection with that other man, this being who shared his likeness and name, but they were not the same person.
While that other man lived freely, carrying the revered title of doctor, an angel on earth who saved countless lives with his scarred hands, he was his opposite.
He walked in shadows, evading police as he took numerous lives with his ice-cold hands. One could argue he was an angel of mercy, appearing to those who knew they were on the brink of losing the last remnants of their humanity. He himself saw nothing of the sort, only knowing he was shackled to this fate of walking the earth alone, bearing the burden of taking doomed lives to protect the still living. To some, he was the Grim Reaper, appearing in his dark clothes, expressionless, as he swiftly took the lives waiting for him. Others knew him as Dawnbreaker, the callous serial killer who left behind nothing of his victims to show that they ever existed.
He himself was just Zayne. The names, titles, and monikers bestowed upon him meant nothing to the young man, who had no one in his life to even call for him or remember him. He was used to silence, to the solitude, understanding that this was his fate.
He lived in purgatory, moving like clockwork and seeing neither joy nor sadness in this monotone world. When nightfall descended, he escaped to heaven where the girl was. Never alone, she was always happily side-by-side with the doctor. He stole glimpses of her smiles, pocketing them as if they were his and his alone. How pitiful of him, to relish in something that was not for him.
He learned not to care, to savor what little joy he was able to greedily take for himself. He lived this way for years, as a voyeur, a thief, an imposter.
When the day came the girl saw him within their dreamscape, he did not know how to react. He stilled, her words left him shaken inside:
“You…aren’t Dr. Zayne. Who are you?”
He didn’t know what to tell her. He didn’t know what to do in this moment. For as long as he could remember, she was always within reach in his dream ever since that fated night so long ago when he was a child. Now, she was here, in front of him, seeing him.
I can’t lose her. I can’t lose her. I can’t—
And then he felt an unfamiliar warmth on his cheek. Her hand caressed his face, memorizing the shape and feel of him that was near identical to the doctor, but perhaps in her eyes alone they were not.
“Why do you look so sad?”
He looked mildly surprised. He searched within him for words, for his voice, unprepared for this sudden moment of being able to speak with her at last. The seconds that felt like eternity to him ended with one simple phrase: “Do I?”
She nodded once and then she disappeared, and he awakened in a cold sweat.
She saw him. She touched him. She spoke to him.
What did it mean? He didn’t know, didn’t have an answer or theory to this new development.
He touched his cheek, her warmth still lingering. The only thing he knew was that he needed to see her again, hoping and praying that she wouldn’t disappear, that she would speak to him once more.
The next night, she appeared before him again, and just like the previous time, she saw him.
“What’s your name?”
He hesitated, but he answered her, “Zayne.”
She looked surprised, but she didn’t act on it. Instead, she smiled and introduced herself. He almost wanted to laugh in incredulous amusement at the situation, having known her name already from so long ago. He restrained his amusement, and he smiled back. “Pleased to meet you.”
They crossed path again, and again, and again. Each time, without hesitation, her eyes lighted with joy for him.
For him.
Him.
He didn’t dare to feel happiness, unsure if he was even deserving of such feelings. But he smiled. He greeted her smiles with his, feeling peace in the moments with her.
He wished he could dream forever, to always have her by his side until the end of time itself.
He no longer envied the doctor, no longer stole moments that were not his to take.
The dream world had changed, molding into bustling cities long ago full of parks, restaurants, and cafés for him to wander with her by his side, to create memories that were for just the two of them to share.
The smiles came naturally, his eyes focused only on her as she chatted and showed him things he did not know in his own world. He listened to her stories, hearing unfamiliar names of the people in her life, but he was engrossed nonetheless, holding onto her every word like a lifeline. When she mentioned the doctor, she paused, seemingly conflicted.
“Go on,” he urged her gently, being rewarded instantly with her kind smile. He didn’t remember the anecdotes she shared of the doctor. He had become too drunk on her voice, too enamored by her pure existence to even think lucidly anymore.
Oh, how he wished he could stay intoxicated, to always keep this feeling of euphoria within himself.
“Do you like chocolate?” she asked after slipping her hand into his coat pocket for warmth, being surprised when she brushed against a small chocolate square.
He himself was surprised to see the sweet treat, having forgotten he was the one who had placed it there in the first place. He pondered, unsure. He ate a lot of chocolate, not disliking it obviously, but he wondered if he could even describe it as his favorite thing to have. It had become more of a habit than anything else really.
“I do not dislike it,” he said after a moment of thought.
She smiled, seemingly understanding him, and unwrapped the little square, taking a delicate bite for herself. “If I have something sweet, I’d be happy, even if it was a bad day.”
He mulled over her words, thinking how it perfectly matched his own feelings.
“Are you tired?” he asked her as she leaned her head on his shoulder.
They found themselves sitting on a beach, watching a sunset. The sound of waves crashing gently upon the shore filled the silence. She shook her head, but her eyes closed. He gazed down at the top of her head, and he placed a kiss, pulling her closer into his embrace.
“Thank you,” he murmured.
“For what?”
“For being here…with me.”
His days remained the same, his tasks unchanging as always. The police records for Dawnbreaker had all mysteriously disappeared, leaving him to freely move about without interference. When dusk finally approached, he counted down the minutes to when sleep would come for him, and her as well.
In the world that they shared, he felt as if he had snuck into heaven, knowing this was something never for him to have. When she looked at him, gentle eyes full of delight and love, he knew he would bend time and space for her.
“Zayne…”
He leaned forth, her soft lips beckoned him to claim them as his, to steal away all of her sweet kisses for himself. Just as their lips were about to touch, he found himself alone in darkness.
The girl was gone.
He called out for her, searched for her within the empty space.
His feet pounded on the floor, echoing in the darkness, as he ran into the void. His heart raced, a cold dread stirred within him, as he found himself approaching a light at the end of the path. He touched against an invisible barrier, separating him and her once more.
He saw her, through the transparent wall, his beloved’s face was wracked with confusion and heartache. Her mouth formed his and the doctor’s name, but the person she sought was gone. In his place stood the doctor as he tried to console the hysterical girl, unable to fathom the cause of her tears and emotional distress, but at the same time, he was unwilling to let her hurt alone.
He watched, helpless, as another man embraced her, soothed her, loved her.
He closed his eyes.
He awoke to a sweet fragrance in his bedroom.
The jasmine had blossomed, and his heart broke.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!"
Vera ran to the counter of her greenhouse, smiling widely.
"Forgive me for making you wait" She dusted herself and took off some gloves she wore to handle cacti.
"Welcome to the Greenspring! I'm Vera Green, owner of this greenhouse. What can i do for you?"
The store had a variety of plants, even small trees and flowers.

"It's not a costume. It's my body. I am made like this"
Her hair swayed while a few bees and butterflies fluttered and buzzed on the flowers and vines that spontaneously grew on the vines tangled among the wavy green mane.

"Soulless" Rae AU? - I keep coming up with weird ideas because I can't write about them. I've seen a lot of options that violated the original concept. But it seemed a little different in my head. You know, without isekai and with the "soulless" Rae. I posted part 1 on Twitter a long time ago, but I thought why not post it here too
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The title "Marquis" for Rae appeared due to the fact that formally it is the title of count and duke, who guarded the border territories. [What Google said] I put together in my head the fact that Euclid is a port town, which means that this automatically makes it an important economic point… And considering that I have no idea how the local geography works, I thought it was on the border… THE LOGIC IS BROKEN, BUT IN MY HEAD IT WORKS, THEN I MADE IT A CITY.
----
- Maybe I said it wasn't isekai, but I didn't say I broke the conventions of the game, ha-ha. It definitely could have been drawn better, but it wasn't in my power.

In the arc of the battle with the pirates, I was very stressed in the manga by the fact that Rae literally drew swords to herself = Does she know how to control them, because she is an earth mage? She can summon any stone, right?? Are there pieces of stone in the iron??? My first thought in this AU was that I could give the weapon to Louie Rae, because unlike "Awakened" Rae, "Soulless" lived entirely in the company of Misha and Louie. The idea of using ice came from the fact that I just thought it would be funny that the cold and emotionless disposition like bread would not let Rae conjure water NOT in frozen form, lol. ----- What I realized when I was drawing the second part is that I do not know how to reproduce the dynamics, and in general, to draw anything is normal in principle… But hey, I like how the bonus turned out!
Tumblr media
I have strange ideas. Don't ask. I'm just glad I drew this and didn't die in the process. I can't say whether there will be a continuation or not, because for some reason I have too many thoughts about other AU I'm working with…
