Theme Parks
translations at the bottom
Masterlist
This is a modern AU with no Voldy, they are 22, still wizards
Translations are at the bottom :)
“Can you tell me why the bloody fuck we decided to go to a theme park in November?”
“James, mate, you’re scaring the children.” Sirius scolded, and James huffed in response.
"I can see my bloody breath! And you aren’t cold cause you’ve got your bloody boyfriend to warm you up. And Pete couldn’t come, no matter how much he wanted and unless your brother-”
“Don’t even finish that sentence, Potter.” Regulus bit, and James made a disgruntled noise when Remus laughed.
“Oh, don’t you even start, Remus. Sirius is practically drowning in your jacket. No wonder neither of you wankers are complaining!”
“Language!”
The new, higher voice came from behind them in the line, and they turned to see a middle-aged woman covering the ears of a little boy, no older than ten, with a mix of shock and amusement on his face.
“Is there a problem, ma’am?” James asked politely, and the woman huffed.
“Yes. I don’t want you talking that way in front of my son.”
“I’m not allowed to say wanker?”
“Hey! What did I just say? I am behind you, and I want you to stop speaking in those disgusting words.”
 James was confused for a second before his face was plastered in a shit-eating grin.
“Je parle une langue. Français, pour être exact.”
“What? Speak english,we’re in America.” The women snapped, and Sirius snickered from behind James while Remus groaned, and Regulus looked torn between bewilderment and amusement.
“Quid de latine? Nec?”
The woman was obviously growing frustrated, and James took full advantage of it.
“ A yw'r Gymraeg yn well? Dyma fy hoff un. Ddim mor rhamantus â Ffrangeg, chi'n gweld, ond gan fy mod i'n eithaf unig ac nad yw'r person rydw i mewn cariad ag ef yn gallu siarad Cymraeg, rydw i'n mynd i'w siarad. Y dyn y tu ôl i mi, rydych chi'n ei weld, y gwallt brown, mae'n fy neall i, wel efallai ddim bellach, mae wedi bod yn amser ers iddo ei siarad, ond dydy'r ddau arall ddim. Rydw i mewn gwirionedd mewn cariad â brawd ei gariad. Ie, y bachgen arall. Y gwallt du byr. Mae'n hollol anhygoel. Mae'n edrych fel ei fod wedi curo'ch asyn, ond ni fydd - wel, efallai'ch un chi. Ond mae mor felys a charedig ac mae fy Nuw ei wên yr un mor ffycin hardd mae'n gwneud fy niwrnod cyfan. A phan mae'n chwerthin, sy'n achlysur prin, mae hi mor goddamn hyfryd sut na allech chi garu'r bachgen hwn. Nid eich bod chi'n gwybod beth rydw i'n ei ddweud. Ac rydw i'n rantio yn Gymraeg i ddynes ar hap sy'n wallgof arna i. Rhyfeddol.”
Someone further back in the line yelled “Mynnwch y bachgen!” but James didn’t pay it much mind, instead staring the woman who was almost red in the face with her anger.
“Well,if that’s all.” James gave a polite smile and turned back to his friends. "Happy birthday, Sirius."
Sirius let out a bark of laughter and pushed closer into Remus, pulling the jacket tighter around them. Regulus looked at James with amusement and confusion.
“What?”
“You speak Welsh? And French and Latin?” Regulus asked, and James nodded.
“I mean, obviously. What else could I have been speaking?”
Regulus rolled his eyes and turned back around to the front of the line, pointing forward. “We aren’t too far from the front. Maybe five minutes.”
After they had ridden the roller coaster (James screamed, Regulus laughed at him) they decided to get some food before getting on another ride, the ride being a carousel.
“Why a carousel? Sirius, you’re turning twenty-two, not two.” Regulus reasoned, though they were already in line and it didn’t do much.
“Because I can. Besides, I’m not acting like I’m two. ”
“Yeah? Well look at James! He’s acting like he’s five!”
  “Hey!”
“Oh, you are!”
“It’s cold, okay! I’m trying to stay warm!”
“You’re a bloody wizard!” Regulus whisper-shouted, careful to not be overheard. “Use a damn heating charm!”
“Remus took my wand!” James whispered back, and Remus smiled from in front of them.
“If you say so.”
James huffed and continued the small dance he was doing, now bobbing his head back and forth in front of Regulus’ face to annoy him. Regulus rolled his eyes and turned him around, shoving him forward in line. James stumbled, but regained his balance and turned around again, repeating his dance and head motions before Regulus turned and pushed him forward again.
This continued a few more times until Regulus grew tired of it, gripping James’ shoulders to get him to stop.
“Quit it, Potter.”
“Make me, Black.”
James started bobbing his head again, and then Regulus’ hands weren’t on his shoulders.
They were on his hips, bringing James closer until Regulus was kissing him, and James was kissing back, Regulus’ fingers digging into James’ waist, reminding him that he was awake. There was grumbling somewhere behind them, but James couldn’t care less, now that he was finally kissing Regulus, and Regulus was kissing him back, after what was almost seven years of pining and secret plans that never worked.
James brought his hands up to Regulus’ face, cradling his cheeks and angling his head as he deepened the kiss.
“Oi!” Sirius shouted from somewhere, though it was hard for James to focus on anything except for Regulus surrounding him and filling every one of his senses.
 The only thing he felt was the scratchy stubble on Regulus' face, and Regulus' hands holding on to his hips. The only thing he could taste was the mango chapstick Regulus used religiously. The only thing he could smell was Regulus' cologne, which smelt like whiskey and old books, something that reminded him of Hogwarts. The only thing he heard was Regulus' breathing, and the almost non existent moan that came when James opened his mouth to willingly let Regulus in.
 "Stop snogging my brother and get on the ride." Sirius' voice came, and James broke their kiss, still holding Regulus' face, to face Sirius.
"No."
And he turned back around, reconnecting his and Regulus' lips.
"Fine then. Come on, Moony. Leave Prongs to defile my baby brother."
Translations
“Quid de latine? Nec?”------- “What about Latin? No?”
“A yw'r Gymraeg yn well? Dyma fy hoff un. Not as romantic as French, you see, but since I'm quite lonely and the person I'm in love with can't speak Welsh, I'm going to speak it. The man behind me, you see him, the brown hair, he understands me, well maybe not anymore, it's been a while since he spoke it, but the other two don't. I'm actually in love with his boyfriend's brother. Yeah, the other boy. The short black hair. He's absolutely amazing. He looks like he'd beat your ass, but he won't - well, maybe yours. But he's so sweet and kind and my god his smile is just so fucking beautiful it just makes my entire day. And when he laughs, which is a rare occasion, it's just so goddamn gorgeous how could you not love this boy. Not that you know what I'm saying. And I'm ranting in Welsh to a random lady who's mad at me. Wonderful.

Javier’s arms are wrapped gently around you, creating a feeling of safety and home that you never knew you were desperately missing. They’re heavy but delicate around your waist, a comforting sensation that makes you want to stay asleep for just a little longer, your lids still heavy. He pulls you closer to him, leaving no space between you. You can feel his warm breaths along the back of your neck, whispering sweet nothings into your ear as you slowly stir yourself back to consciousness.
Something’s not right. His arms are around you, but not in the familiar way that you’re used to, the way you like. They move down your arm, softly resting on your waist. But you’re not warm and safe in a bed. You’re lying on your side, on hard cement in an unnatural position. Javier’s arms are there, but they’re firm, shaking you. His voice grows louder. He frantically calls your name, shouting at you to open your eyes.
Your skin scrapes along the rough concrete as you try to move. There’s a throbbing pain on one side of your head, one that follows the merciless ringing in your ears. A warm metallic taste covers your tongue; you can’t tell where it’s coming from. You hear Javier’s voice again, more desperate this time.
What happened?
Slowly, you blink your eyes open. There’s dust and smoke that fill your lungs, and then you remember. Oh, right. The explosion. You were on an assignment. Things went downhill and the sicarios are long gone. The last thing you remember is the impact of Javier throwing his body against yours as both he and the walls around you crashed down to the ground.
The weight of his arm is abruptly removed off of you, and you instantly miss the feeling. You realize your back is still pressed against his chest, and Javier moves away before putting his arm back over you, helping you roll onto your back. He rubs his hand up and down your arm, asking if you can hear him. Javier whispers your name one more time when he sees your eyes are open, a moment of slight relief that leaves his lips as a weak sigh. You turn your head to look at him, a pain searing into you as you do.
There’s blood on his face, pooling from a large gash in his skin. Some of his hair is plastered across his forehead in messy pieces. More blood stains cover his clothing, but you can’t find the source. You start to panic, your breathing becoming more rapid. Why did he have to cover you? It takes more strength than you expect to roll onto your other side and face him. Another sharp pain immediately shoots up your body as you make the movement. Javier’s hand is still resting on your side, but he groans loudly when he tries to move closer to you, his own apparent pain making his breaths go shallow. His eyes are wide with horror as he looks at you up and down, his large hand moving to hold onto yours.
All of a sudden, Javier lets out a single huff, and you pry your eyes away from the stains on his clothing to look back at him.
“You look like hell, agent,” he teases, but he can’t hide the way he flinches when he speaks.
“Fuck off, Peña,” you retort, as best as you can manage.
You move your hand to his face, softly tracing your fingers along the curve of his cheek. If you weren't already on the ground, the sight of him in this state would have you unable to stay upright. He shouldn't have pushed you out of the way. With the proximity of the explosives, you both would've been hit anyways.
It hurts to move, much less speak, but you try anyway. It comes out weak. “Javier, why did you—”
“Don’t,” he interrupts, his voice cracking. “You know why.” His lips are slightly parted and he continues to take labored breaths.
There’s blood on you. Javier feels the muscles in his jaw tense up every time he sees you flinch from the pain. He glances down at his own body and examines the damage—he’ll be fine. The world spins a bit as his hand trails along your arm and then up to your face, but he doesn’t feel any pain. He only sees yours.
Javier grimaces and forces himself to move closer to you, gently inspecting you for any signs of damage. For a moment he feels a pain like fire in his shoulders, but he brushes it away like an afterthought.
He wishes you hadn’t been with him today. You should’ve gone with Murphy, wherever he went. Anywhere else but here. Javier’s only known fear like this a handful of times in his life, and it’s never for himself. It’s the kind of fear that makes the blood rush out of his head, the kind that makes him do things he wouldn’t normally. He doesn’t name the fear; he never does.
He needs to get you out of here. But there’s no one else around. Help will come soon, but you have to wait long enough. Your eyelids start to droop and Javier’s adrenaline kicks in even harder. He can feel his pulse pounding out of his chest, his heart racing—it would be slower if it were only him and not you.
“Stay awake, agent,” he insists as loudly as he can. It comes out broken.
There’s no way Javier can be fully alert right now, but that’s all you can see in his eyes as he looks into yours. Urgency. His fingers tremble as they run along your cheek. The rough pad of his thumb gingerly strokes your cheekbone as he moves his hand to cup your face. It’s the softest movement you’ve ever felt from him, but the rest of your body screams from the pain everywhere else. You move your hand to his chest, silently urging him to calm down. His hand shakes slightly, but he brings it over yours, giving it a small squeeze.
“Stay with me, querida,” he whispers.
Despite everything, you feel warm. Not just from his skin against yours, but from everything you feel for him. It’s funny how it takes this sort of situation to bring you to this point. It always does.
Javier knows you’ve both been here before. Not this exact situation, of course. But somehow, you always find yourselves here.
“I —” Javier starts to say, but the words fall away before they make it off his lips.
“I know,” you hush him, bringing your hand to his face and smoothing the tension off of his lips. “You can tell me after we get out of this.”

A Friend
pairing: Mandalorian (Dyn Jarren) x reader
notes: I don’t know what this is but I finally caught up on the Mandalorian and wanted to write something for him. maybe I might make a part two? I don’t know. I just know he’s my husband and baby yoda is our child🥺
Tumblr media
Despite how secluded her home was, it served as a rest stop for many travelers alike. They would knock on her door offering what little they had in exchange for food and shelter, and she would always gently push the offerings away before ushering them inside. Word spread of her kindness and her hospitality, and soon it became a routine, a casual affair in her life. And it was no different when a roughed up, damaged Mandalorian appeared at her doorsteps.
Again, she silently pushed away the credits in his outstretched hand and led him inside. She said nothing as he collapsed in the nearest chair, made no comment towards the green creature peacefully sleeping away in its mobile nursery. Instead she made them dinner, wiped the grime from his helmet as carefully as she could manage in order not to wake him, and held the child at her hip when he began to fuss.
When the Mando woke his first instinct was to search for the child. It wasn’t in its crib, but it was swaddled in the arms of the woman. She sang a quiet song in her native tongue to the baby, and as it listened it took greedy gulps from its bottle of blue milk. Hungry little fella he was.
“You’re awake,” she states, not once looking up from the child. “I made dinner. If you eat that sort of thing, that is. I know you’re not supposed to remove your helmet.”
He says nothing, only stares. And she smiles the kindest smile he’s seen in a long time, so soft and gentle. That kind of softness was wiped out almost everywhere he went. How was something so good still alive?
“You both can stay as long as you’d like,” she declares, gently handing the baby over to the silent man. It whines in protest, reaching out for her robes desperately. She only smiles.
“Your name,” he says, and it catches her by surprise, “what is it?”
“Y/N,” she replies gently. “But you can call me a friend, if you’d like.”
She retreats behind the two sheets hung over the doorway, leaving the man confused and weary and full of so many questions that have no time to be answered.

Chapter 4: Lonely
Tumblr media
Author’s Note: Okay so I haven’t been able to see any of the posts to this story show up in the tags...Could you all please do me a favor and let me know if you can see them in the tags or if that’s how you found this work? I’m really frustrated by this and want to know if it’s just me who can’t see it. Thanks!
Word Count: 1.7k
Warnings: mentions of injuries?
Chapters: One, Two, Three, Four (you’re here), Five, Six, Seven, Eight
//
You glanced from your form in the mirror to the sleeping Mandalorian behind you. After the skirmish with the last Chroig, Jaleer, along with some of the other villagers, had helped you bring him back to your hovel along with a small cot. Hammock’s weren’t great for treating the wounded. One of the older women, a former resistance medic, had helped you as you relieved the unconscious man of his armor. She had reached for his helmet but stopped at your harsh grip on her wrist. You shook your head simply and she seemed to understand and you released your hold on her and let her start inspecting the wounds. You cringed as you saw the deep red marks across his lower abdomen and shoulders. His beskar had protected the majority of his torso from the deadly sharp claws of the beast but couldn’t protect him from everything. You watched as Ellaria, the medic, pulled some batcha patches from her med kit and laid them over the angry red wounds. she quickly looked over him for any other noticeable injuries before standing and looking concerned at your own shoulder.
“You need attention too. You didn’t come out unscathed.” at her mention of your own wound you suddenly remembered the sharp sting in your shoulder. The animal must have grazed you before it attacked Mando.
You waved her off, “I can take care of it, it’s just a scratch.”
The woman rolled her eyes but handed you a few batcha patches as well along with a roll of bandages, “Put these patches on yours and you should be fine, but him-“ she gestured to the bounty hunter, “he’s going to need some bandages after the batcha has done it’s work. They are amazing tools but not miracle workers.”
No nodded in understanding taking the items from her hands, “Thank you Ellaria.”
She smiles gently and glances back at the man, “No, thank you both. Without you we would still be living in fear of another attack. He helped us like he promised.”
You too look at the man, “yeah,” a slight warmth fills your chest as your heart flutters slightly, “he did keep his promise.”
Your comment fell into the empty room as Ellaria had already left.
You brought your eyes back to the mirror as you recalled the memory and tried to place the batcha patches on your shoulder. You had pulled your shirt off which left you in nothing more than a thin tank top but made it a lot easier to treat your wound. You had placed the last patch on the back of your shoulder, albeit awkwardly, but placed it, when a low modulated groan filled the air.
Your head whipped in the direction of the noise and you saw Mando starting to stir from his position. He attempted to sit up, but you moved quickly to his side to help him.
“Hey, take it easy,” you instructed gently moving your hands to his arms to help guide him into a sitting position. You tried to ignore how nice his skin felt under your hands.
“You took quite the blow out there, Mando.” The man felt a small shiver run through him as your nickname for him slipped past your lips, but you just assumed he was chilled from the cool breeze whispering through the home.
“I’ve had worse.” He stated plainly, as he looked around the home slowly, “what happened? where’s the kid?” you could hear worry tinge his words as you turned to grab the bandages from behind you.
“The kids asleep in the back,” you assured, “and we killed them. You’re plan worked.” You said triumphantly as you turned to face him again, squatting to be face level with him, a warm smile crossing your face.
Your smile fell and your breath hitched as you felt one of his warm hands brush lightly against your injured shoulder.
“Not without consequences,” he muttered bitterly, withdrawing his hand from you.
Your mind was reeling from the small act, trying to figure out the man behind the mask in front of you. You’ve only known each other for what? Four or five days? Yet, here you both were inches from one another a tension in the air neither of you dared address. You cleared your throat, and shrugged your shoulder, wincing slightly as the action sent a sharp pain through your shoulder.
“It’s nothing I can’t handle.”
You look at the batcha patches still on the man and look up to him holding the bandages up for him to see, “Ellaria told me you’d need these after the batcha did it’s work. I can check if you want, to see if they- “
“No.” he said shortly.
You frowned slightly but set the bandages down none the less and stood silently, “Okay, if you’re sure.”
He just nods and grabs the bandages from beside him as you turn around and walk to stand in front of the mirror once again. You tilt your head to the side and peel up the patches on your shoulder slightly. You pressed it back down when you saw it wasn’t completely healed yet and glance in the mirror at the man behind you. You could see him struggling to maneuver to remove the patches and heard small grunts of pain coming from his direction. You shook your head at his stubbornness and turned swiftly walking back to crouch in front of him once more. Damn him and his stubbor nature. You reached for the patch on his lower abdomen and startled slightly when he gripped your wrist tightly. You again felt your breath stutter but steeled yourself and looked up at him, met only with a mask. You tried to look through the mask, tried to see him, but it was impossible with the metal separating you.
You looked at him pleadingly, “Let me help you” Your voice was only a whisper, but even behind the mask the Mandalorian could hear the desperation behind the plea.
He hesitated before releasing your wrist from his grasp and instead gripped the edge of the cot. You took this as permission and gently peeled the patch from his skin. You immediately noticed a massive improvement. The deep cuts were now almost completely closed and had considerably less redness around them. You set the patch aside before removing the second one gently. You hear a small hiss come from the man in front of you and whisper an apology before picking up the bandage roll. You gently start to wrap the gauze around his torso, fingers gently grazing his skin occasionally. You don’t miss the multitude of scars that litter his body as you start to wrap the bandages around his shoulder. Once you’re satisfied with your work you secure the end of the bandage and glance up at the man sitting over you.
You gently sweep your fingers over a particularly jagged scar before blurting, “How long have you been doing this?” the words escape your mouth before you can stop them.
The man pushes your hand away and reaches for the discarded blanket beside him pulling it up to cover himself slightly. You immediately regret your question and mentally kick yourself.
“I’m sorry,” you breath, standing from your position quickly, “That’s none of my business. Don’t get too close right? That’s the unspoken rule.” You declare, a slight bitterness working its way into your words.
You walk over to your hammock a few feet away and lay yourself in it gently before facing away from the man who was still a mystery to you. A deafening silence fills the air after you both settle into your respective sleeping areas, the only sound being the steady hum of insects outside and the light rustle of foliage floating through your windows. You surprisingly hear a low hiss followed by a thunk of metal on the wooden floor of your home.
The Mandalorian had removed his helmet.
As much as your curiosity screamed at you to turn and look you willed yourself to stay facing the opposite direction. You would not do that to him.
“Since I was young.” His voice startled you, breaking the tense silence.
A small gasp escaped your lungs as you heard his voice unaltered for the first time. While you had already found it mesmerizing before, even with the helmet, it was truly breathtaking now. You had to swallow past the lump in your throat.
“Why?”
There was a slight pause before he responded, “because it’s what I was trained to do.”
You couldn’t find a response to that answer and sat quietly once more. One question still lingered at the forefront of your mind.
“Why do you always were your helmet?” you finally push out.
“It’s the Way.” Is all he offers, as if that fully answers your question.
“When was the last time someone has seen you without it?” you ask curiously, throwing all caution to the wind.
“I was just a child.” Short and to the point, as always.
You felt a tightness grip your chest, as a sadness washed over you. He hadn’t seen anyone without his helmet since he was child?
“Does it not get lonely?” you question, confusion and sadness lacing your words.
Once again, a long paused greeted you and you were sure this time he was not going to respond. You had crossed a line. But a soft sigh cut through the air.
“It does.”
You opened your mouth to reply but quickly shut it once you realized you truly had no words. The vulnerability in those two words almost knocked you from your hammock. You were seeing a side of him that no one had seen in many years and Dyn was, for a moment, afraid. Not of dying, or getting hurt, but of truly opening up to someone. Vulnerability is a terrifying thing. But the feeling was replaced slowly by a warm relief. It felt like a small weight was lifted from his shoulders as he finally admitted his loneliness. Dyn felt drowsiness start to creep into his mind, he glanced over momentarily at you, breathing steadily and turned over on his good side.
“Goodnight,” he offered quietly, not sure of you were awake to hear it.
Just as sleep finally claimed him he heard a small ‘goodnight Mando’ meet his ears. And for the first time in as long as he can remember he fell asleep without a worry in the world.

The Mandalorian X Male Reader

|| Masterlist ||
@the-force-of-imagines
-
Requested: Oh I have a request. How a mandolorian x male!reader where the reader is extremely protective of baby Yoda. When mando left the baby behind reader goes back and tries to save him himself. But got himself in a bit of a tight spot.
Warning: Fluff, protective dads, baby yoda, slight angst.
-
Tumblr media
-
Dyn only had the child for a couple of weeks and he was already getting attached, but he wasn’t the only one. Y/N was also getting attached to the child and wouldn’t leave the small things side, he would sometimes find the two sleeping on his bed. Cuddled up close as the other gripped the blankets close and held the child close to his chest in a protective way with an arm around it.
Dyn and Y/n have been dating for a couple of years now, even if y/n hasn’t seen the mandalorians face he didn’t seem to mind it at all. They both enjoyed each other’s company and worked together perfectly.
But, dyn was a Mandalorian and he always sticks to his mission. Today, he had to turn in the child wether he liked it or not.
Once he lands the ship in a small town he makes sure that he’s quiet enough to slip past y/n’s bed and takes the child with him. He knows that the other male is a heavy sleeper and wouldn’t be awake for awhile so he took this as his chance to do the exchange. The Mandalorian makes his way through the town, with the child following behind him.
The child cooed and whimpers, trying to reach out towards the ship were y/n lied asleep in his bed.
The Mandalorian had to make the quick exchange.
Once he turns the child in he couldn’t help but feel empty inside and heart broken. The child was able to find a way to slither inside the mandalorians heart and make him go soft but he knows that he can’t do anything now. He watched as they took the child away, seeing one last glimpse of him before the doors closed up.
Dyn asks what they were planning on doing with the child but the dealer only frowns and doesn’t answer. So, he takes his prize and heads off to meet up with the others.
Y/n stirs in his sleep as he groans and rubs his eyes. Sitting up slowly as he lets a yawn slip and stretched out his arms. He raised a brow and calls out for the Mandalorian. “Dyn?” He says as he stands up and grabs his things, placing his blaster in its holster he began to search the ship. Seeing no sign or Dyn or the child.
Frowing, he opens up the doors and began to step down. From a distance he sees the Mandalorian and smiled, he began to approach him but slows down. His smile slowly fades away as he noticed that he was alone.
Where was the kid?
That’s when he noticed the new armor, shaking his head he runs towards Dyn and glared at him.
“What did you do?! What did you do?!” He shouts as he hits the mandalorians chest and groans. “Where is he?!”
“Y/n-“
“No! Don’t y/n me, tell me where he is!” He pleads out and pants in anger, stepping away from dyn as the Mandalorian tries to calm him down.
“It was my mission.”
“Screw your mission,” y/n hissed out. “He’s just a boy.” He adds before shoving the Mandalorian away and heading towards town.
“Where are you going?”
“To get him back! And I’m going to do this alone, I don’t care if I get killed.” Y/n shouts back before disappearing into the crowds.
Dyn watached as his partner disappeared into the crowds of the town, without thinking he boards the ship and enters into the main cockpit. Turning the controllers on and getting ready to leave, he knows that it’s a selfish thing to leave Y/n behind but he was a mandalorian and he needed to continue on with his missions. Getting ready to leave he stares at the small ball that the small child was playing with not too long ago, he just couldn’t get that strange feeling off of him.
Grabbing the small orb he screws it back onto the handle, placing his hand onto the handle he began to think about the strange feeling in his chest. Remembering how he had the same feeling once when he first met Y/n, he felt whole when he was around the other male bit somehow he felt empty with the two missing.
Groaning he slams the controllers down and turns everything off, turning around to get the kid and Y/n back. He knows that he’s risking a lot but he needs to get them back. They make him feel whole and he just couldn’t leave them behind.
Dyn began to head back into town, the place was a getting dark and it was late. As he made his way back he hears the sounds of blasters and groans coming from the entrance. Frowning under his mask he pulls out his own blaster and heads towards the back, holding out his blaster he slowly steps inside. Hearing the sound of rapid footsteps in front of him makes him grip the blaster as he gets ready to shot at anything coming his way.
“Dyn!”
The Mandalorian lowers down his arm as he sees Y/n emerge from the smoke. He was holding a bundle of blankets and was panting heavily, his hand was on his hip as they stared at each other. “You’re hurt.” said Dyn as he puts his blaster away and helps Y/n walk.
“Don’t worry about me,” he says. “Take the kid and go, I’ll find another way around town and towards the ship.” He says as he hands the mandalorian the kid.
Dyn takes the kid and looks down at him to see him sleeping. “You can’t stay here.”
“I won’t, Like I said, I’ll meet you at the ship.” Y/n groans out and bites his lip in pain. “Go!” He shouts as he shoved Dyn away from him. He limps away form the mandalorian and quickly finds a way around the town, leaving the mandalorian on his own to deal with the others. He knows that he should stay back in help, but knowing Dyn, he would force him to head back to the ship.
Y/n groans as he spots the ship and quickly climbs inside, finding his own hammock he lies down and winced from the pain. Stripping his shirt off he looks down to look at his wound, it was only a light graze but at least he didn’t get fully hurt.
Y/n stayed lying in bed until dyn got back from town, he knows that if tries to move at least a little, Dyn would get scolding him.
He makes sure to wrap up his torso writhing some bandages before he passes out form the pain, he’s dealt with injuries before but none have brought him to the state of fainting.
The next time he wakes up he feels the ship moving, slowly he opens his eyes to glance around his surroundings before he turns to look at his injuries. He noticed that his bandages were neatly wrapped this time and his injury was cleaned.
Hearing a soft coo to his left he quickly turns out see the child standing next to the bed with a small smile on his face, his ears perking up as he noticed that the other male was awake. The child squeaks happily, “Hey little one...good to see that you’re okay.” He whispered and picks him up, setting him on the bed with him as he lied back and winced, slowly sitting back. He allows the child to get comfortable in the small bundle of blankets that he had daped over him. Chuckling, as the child nuzzled his uninjured torso.
Y/n smiles weakly and lied his head back on the pillow and stared at the ceiling of the ship, before he could close his eyes. A certain mandalorian stood over him.
“Well hello..” says Y/n with a cheeky grin and laugh.
The mandalorian was not amused with his partners response. “The next time you get injured for something stupid, I am leaving you behind.” Y/n frowns. “And that’s a promise.” He adds before Y/n groans deeply. “What I did wasn’t stupid, I went back to take the kid. Can’t believe that you would turn him in like he’s some kind of prisoner.” Y/n crossed his arms and continued to glare at his mandalorian.
Dyn sighs under his mask and shakes his head. “What you did was dangerous and you got hurt, you know how I get when someone important gets hurt.”
“Oh so now I’m important? The last time I checked if I was important was when you were about to abandon me!” He shouts in anger and sat up to quickly. Grunting in pain as he placed a hand on his wrapped up torso.
“You need to keep resting.” Dyn grabs him by the shoulders and slowly lies him back down, he expected Y/n to complain and push him away but the shorter male allows him to do as he liked.
“Damn you, Mando...”
Dyn chuckles, “Now it’s Mando? What happened to you calling me by my name?” He asks and adjusts the blankets for both y/n and the kid. “I only say your name when we’re in bed.” Y/n replies back with an evil grin on his face as he felt the mandalorian freeze in place. He may not know what his expression is right now but he knows that he’s either blushing or just flustered.
“I’m gonna get some rest, now.” Y/n whispered and leans up to plant a kiss on his helmet before chuckling and settling himself in bed with the kid next to his side.
The small child tilts its head in confusion as he stared at the two males, his ears flickering softly as he cooed at the two.
“You’ll understand once you get older.” Dyn mumbles out before sitting up and heading back to the cockpit to continue piloting the ship to their next destination.

I got a bug, so I decided to write this ridiculous nonsense.
Adventures in Babysitting
The ship hummed softly as the power-down sequence began, and Rocket was quick to hop out of the pilot's chair and make his way back to the makeshift child seat Gamora insisted he use. Something-something safety, something-something, blah-blah-blah, whatever.* Groot's safety is and always will be number one, but it's insulting that she thinks a glorified bucket with a seat harness is going to do shit. Rolling his eyes to himself, he lifts the "baby carrier" by the handle and disembarks, wincing in the bright sunlight on Peter's home world.
He probably should have told Peter he was going to come, see if the guy had any family to visit. Ah well. Too late now, time to meet his old pal to drop off the kid before getting down to business.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dyn Jarren was, to put it mildly, exhausted. After Sporog, there had been nine other planets, either too hostile or where they were too easily found. Nine.* So he'd decided to... Branch out a bit. Hit the next Galaxy over- he had contacts there, a Mandalorian covert hiding away on the moon of some backwater planet called Terra where the locals had barely managed to intrude on the dead rock, let alone notice the comings and goings of the refugees on their own moon. One of these Terrans had even gained that most precious of commodities years ago, the Mandalorian's trust.
There were three shootouts, a target's gills getting infected with fishrot, and said Terran actually convincing the target to be encased in Carbonite willingly. It was a wild four days, but the man was trustworthy, never having breathed a word of what happened during his "spirituality retreat."
Landing in a tucked away copse of trees near his contact's current location, he hefts The Child into his arms, turning his head to shush him gently.
"None of that. It's faster if I carry you."
Without another word he disembarked down the gangplank and set off at a brisk pace, following the coordinates in his helmet's display.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keanu was sitting in the sunny Northern California early afternoon, dozing off if he were to tell the truth, at the rather larger home than he really needed that had been rented for the next week. He wanted plenty of room for Rocket and his young ward to explore and relax though, so this was his best option. It was secluded, no neighbors for miles, with a dense forest to the back and miles of vineyards in lieu of the missing neighbors.
A coo only a few feet from him caused him to jerk fully awake suddenly, eyes opening to see a man he'd never expected to see again and- was that a child?
Standing, he greeted the unexpected guest from outer space with a pleased smile.
"Mando! Man, wow, it's been like- six years? How are you? And who's this little guy??" As he approached his face broke into a more intimate grin as he made eye contact with the tiny green child, delight lighting up his face as The Child gifted him with another coo.
The Mandalorian, for his part, gives a neutral hum that borders on pleased. "This is The Child. We're currently hiding from parties that want him dead- or worse. I was hoping we could lay low here for a while- is that alright with you?"
Keanu, for his part, is astounded at that story, but the only question that passes through his lips is, "Mando, have you not... Named your kid?"
Despite being able to see exactly none of the Mandalorian's face, he can practically feel* the other man's blush. "... It hasn't been important so far."
"Mando!"
"Keanu." Unexpected, deadpan snark from his friend, but he rolls with it. Abruptly, he remembers his manners and invites them hurriedly, offering food and beverages. Dyn declines both for himself, but soup for The Child if he has it. Keanu does and quickly begins heating some on the stove. While that's working, he tries to figure out how to tell the bounty hunter about his other, expected visitor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As it turns out, the Mandalorian wasn't terribly fussed about his having other guests, so long as they didn't try to harm either the man or the* child, though the Terran man was subjected to a hard stare he couldn't see but could definitely feel when he mentioned his other guests were "a little unusual-looking."
Rocket, true to form, didn't bother with knocking, though Keanu was openly relieved he used a door at all for entering the abode. The bipedal raccoon, on the other hand, was distinctly and obviously uncomfortable. With a blatantly false smile across his snout and speaking through his teeth, Rocket jerks his head a few times back towards the living room from the doorway of the kitchen where he'd abruptly halted.
"Hey, Neo, need to talk to you real quick. In here. Away from the bounty hunter."
The implacable stare of the helmet followed them out of the room and until they turned the corner, Rocket leading his friend halfway up the stairs leading to the bedrooms. Before Keanu can speak, Rocket is standing- somehow- on the railing and gripping the collar of his jacket, pulling him close to mutter threateningly in his face. "I don't know what that guy has told you, but I don't have any more bounties on my head. I went straight, we all went straight, we're doing good now. I won't let some Mandalorian asshole with out of date information skin me for credits, you got it?"
"I'm not here on a bounty."
Both man and raccoon in the stairwell jump, looking down at the Mandalorian standing with crossed arms. He continues, unperturbed by the blatant hostility of the raccoon that scampers down the stairs to stand eye to... Well, hip, until he takes advantage of the banister again. "I'm just laying low for a while. Needed a place to hide. Keanu mentioned you were coming." At the last sentence Rocket glares back at the man, before Mando dryly adds, "We were unexpected. You weren't."
Keanu decides that he needs a strong mug of tea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So once helmet-head and his little goblin child are settled in the dining area, Rocket goes to collect Groot and his- bucket, no, carrier- from where he'd left him napping in the sun. He is completely unsurprised that his own little monster child has managed to escape the prison of the child seat and is frolicking in the yard after a butterfly or some shit. Rocket allows himself the barest moment of tender enjoyment of watching Groot just be happy, before he knuckles up and shouts across the open lawn.
"Hey Groot, come meet your babysitter! I don't got all day, hurry it up!" The tree person- is he a shrub right now? He's small enough to be a shrub- comes scampering across the yard, stopping in front of Rocket, crossing his arms, and indignantly huffing.
"I am Groot."
"Yes, you do. I can't leave you on the ship by yourself for a couple of days."
"I am Groot!"
"Because I'm the adult and you're not right now."
"I am Groot?"
"Keanu. Don't give me that look, that's his real name."
"I am Groot."
"Look who's talkin'! You think either of us have room to be critical of someone else's name?"
"... I am Groot..."
"That's what I thought. Now c'mon, he's waiting inside and he made you food, so be grateful."
He takes his ward's hand, leading him inside. More to himself than anything, he mutters, "But Keanu is a weird fuckin' name..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second meeting with the children present goes much smoother than the first. They sit and share a meal- with the exception of Dyn Jarren, who answers endless questions about Mandalorians, his helmet, his weapons, and anything else Rocket can think of to annoy him with, with a remarkable amount of patience- if not without more of the snark Keanu witnessed earlier. The fathers then send their children to play, with stern warnings about not leaving the yard that are, the Terran is sure, going to be completely ignored. He has to grip Mando's sleeve to get him to sit and stay after some noises of play begin and the man slightly panics.
Rocket, for his part, decides to refuse to be this much of a worrywart over Groot upon observing the bounty hunter's near-palpable anxiety over his foundling.
Keanu decides to get into the practicalities of the next few days, asking what each child likes to eat, when they're supposed to sleep, and what discipline they're used to, ready to take notes.
Both Mandalorian and raccoon stare at him blankly after the first question. He tries again, starting with what he thought was the easiest question.
"what time do they generally go to sleep?"
"Uhhh, Groot just sorta passes out when he's tired. Usually about... 9ish? I guess?"
"Does he nap during the day?"
"How'm I supposed to know, I'm workin'! He just sleeps when he's tired."
"Mando?"
The bounty hunter's shoulders drop slightly in what might be classed as defeat. "He sleeps all the time in about two hour chunks, then he's up for about five." When the Terran blinks at him in what looks a lot like confusion, he sighs. "I've tried getting him to sleep longer, but unless he ends up using his abilities, it's just not happening."
Keanu nods in what appears to be deliberate lack of judgement, making notes on either side of his page. Rocket snatches the paper almost as soon as he's done with his bedtime notes, barking a laugh at the name given for The Child.
"Mando Jr.? Really, bounty hunter? You couldn't come up with anything better?"
"... I didn't come up with it."
"So what's his real name?"
"... It's not important. That'll do for now."
And so the conversation went, discipline being a similarly baffling subject for both of them. When it came to food though, they found surprising common ground.
""Frogs.""
Keanu made a continue gesture after they both looked at each other in surprise, before Rocket jocularly punched Dyn on the shoulder. Dyn, for his part, just seemed exhausted. Keanu could relate.
"Soup. Small bits of meat... Mushrooms. Insects if he can catch them."
"Groot'll eat anything, kid's a trash compactor. We done here?"
Keanu is more than happy to finish out the conversation there, releasing them to go check in on their kids before headed out. Sometime in the last few hours, Rocket had decided a Mandalorian was pretty good backup for what he was doing and asked if Dyn would like to come along. The bounty hunter had sighed heavily before nodding his agreement.
Which brought them back around to the sitter conversation that now had Keanu reaching for the tea kettle again.
It was going to be a long three days.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keanu, for his part, was pleased to discover Groot had no problems retreating to his and Rocket's room at 9pm for bed. The Yiddling, as was the name that seemed to stick for the sitter, was another story.
He whined, he grizzled, he even squealed a time or two. The Terran just kept calmly holding the kid and bouncing gently, singing half-remembered lullabies to the child as it slowly, eventually, tired itself out. Keanu very gently lowered the child into the crib he'd acquired from the bounty hunter's ship before they left, taking the three steps back to his bed to collapse backwards into the sheets and blissfully drop off after hours of soothing a fussy toddler who could move things with his mind.
For two hours. Then the crying began again.
It was a long night for everybody, and the sitter was more than happy to go start the coffee pot just as the first fingers of sunlight began to creep over the treetops behind the house. By the time he had breakfast prepared for the two children under his care, the kitchen was bathed in golden morning sunlight. The two ate well, then his little tree-like charge turned to him with a stubborn tilt to his head.
"I am Groot."
"A nature walk? Why?"
"I am Groot!"
"I somehow really doubt the forests of Earth are your ancestral home."
"I am Groot!"
"... You know what, an excellent point. You two can find all the frogs you like and I won't have to attempt to catch any for you. We'll go in a little bit, okay? I need to pack you both lunches in case we're out for a while, and I need to put together that thing."
"That thing" was, in fact, a jogging stroller for doubles. A quick overnight delivery after the arrival of not one, but two children in his care necessitated it, and it had arrived promptly at 8am. He cleaned up after his little charges, helped them both wash their hands in the sink, and then sent them to play for a while as he carefully read the instructions for assembly.
One hour, two bandages, and a hurried, "don't repeat that!" tossed in a nosey Groot's direction after some overheard profanity, and the babysitter had the stroller ready. He packed two quick lunches based on the Yiddling's preferences- as his was the more specified, and Groot really would eat anything, including the plate- and got them all out the door, a bag of essentials that he resolutely would not call a diaper bag tucked into the very-convenient compartment beneath the seats of the stroller and took them down the path that had a trail head right there in the backyard. Keanu decided Groot really did have an excellent idea with this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two hours later Keanu was smugly pleased with both the nature walk and the double stroller. Both kids were passed out asleep in their stroller seats, snoring gently with the remains of their lunches clasped gently in sticky fingers- twigs? Claws? Fingers was just easier for Keanu's exhausted but triumphant brain- and resting lightly in their laps. He was now taking a leisurely stroll back to the house, enjoying the peace as much as communing with nature.
And so that's how the three spent the next several sleep-deprived days. Breakfast, stroller, wander through nature (one extremely disturbing frog-hunting hour around a pond that he's never mentioning to another living soul except for maybe their parents) lunch and afternoon naps, playing tag and other such games in the yard, dinner, and then a fraught bedtime with the little Yiddling.
When their parents returned, Rocket was nearly bowled over by an excited Groot, being squeezed happily by suddenly very long toddler tree arms. The Mandalorian was passed The Child by a tired but very happy Keanu, who reported to both parents that they were good kids and behaved. Mando was surprised in equal measure by both the Yiddling- he was keeping that name for him, thank-you Keanu- falling asleep in his arms immediately, and the sitter in question's flabbergasted stare that soon melted into a soft, gentle smile.
As they each departed for their ships after what was decidedly a warmer and noisier splash than The Mandalorian had wanted to make on this planet, they were both secretly pleased at just how comfortable their children had been with the Terran, and at how well they'd been able to work together.
Perhaps they'd have to do this again sometime.
The Mandalorian X Blind!Reader (part 3)
Tumblr media
     "Darling?“ Dyn whispered, waking his partner who was asleep at is side.
     "Hm?” She stirred awake.
     "I’ve got to get to work.“ He said sitting up and stretching. The beds on (Y/n)’s ship were much more comfortable than the cots aboard the Razor Crest. He had only been sleeping in the new environment for a few months and had no idea how he was able to sleep before. He stood to get dressed, the action pulling the blanket away from (Y/n)’s naked body. He watched as she groaned a little, pulling the blankets back to cover her.
     As he dressed, she gradually woke up, disturbed by Naalnish jumping on the foot of the bed when Dyn left the room for the kitchen. She listened as his boots clanked down the ladder and left the bed herself, getting dressed. Usually, she put her clothes back in one spot to be easily found or put them in a hamper, but this morning they were strewn about the floor. She was able to find her bra, but after a couple minutes of searching, she gave up and grabbed something new from the closet. She carefully lowered herself down the ladder and heard the clank of a mug of caf being set on the counter.
     "Finally awake?” He asked humorously, setting a mug in front of her. The weight of his hand on her back and the warmth from the mug made her want to fall back asleep.
     "Barely.“
     "Well, I’m going into the village today. Carga said he’s on planet and he can be found in one of the cantinas.”
     "Oh, can I go with you? If we’re going to stay here for a while, I’d like to get familiar with the place. Naalnish can learn how to bring me to places I’d want to visit more often.“
     "Of course you can. This planet is quite safe. Rarely any scugs running around.” He said, placing his mug in the sink. “I’m surprised Carga is even here. He usually picks to worst hell hole planets there are to meet.”
     "When are you leaving?“
     "I was going to leave now, but I can wait for you.”
     "It’s ok, you can go. I think I’m going to take a shower anyways.“
     "Alright. If you need me, I’m sure you can find me in whatever cantina I wind up in.” As he spoke, he pulled his helmet on, his smooth, organic voice becoming raspy and modulated.
     (Y/n) walked through the market, hearing shouts of vendors and customers, hearing the clanks of dishes and cookware, smelling all different kinds of food being cooked. The streets were familiar to her, though she had never, ever, been there before. The smells and sounds reminded her of her home on her distant planet, nights with her mother, and of the first day she met Dyn. A couple of the shopkeepers realized she was blind and assisted her, like one older woman.
     "Hello, young lady. I see you have a guide wolf. I don’t recall seeing you here before? Are you new to town?“ She said. (Y/n) could tell her age from her voice.
     "Yes, I am. I live on my ship and I…my husband and I decided to dock here for a while.” Though they had been married for a few months now, she had never spoken to someone, or have gotten to use the term “my husband” before. It almost went right over her head, but when the words left her mouth, it felt good, and butterflies filled her stomach. “I’m blind and I thought I would get used to the surroundings and train my wolf to remember key locations.”
     "Well, here at my shop I sell herbs and spices. Don’t be afraid to pick something up and feel it or smell it. If you can’t identify something or if you need help, I’d be happy to help you.“
     "Thank you so much! You’re so kind. Every other market I’ve been to, no one offers me any help.”
     "Oh, how shameful. Everyone could use a little kindness.“ The woman said, putting out new bundles of herbs for display.
     "I think I’ll make my husband something for dinner.” (Y/n) said, dusting her hand over the boxes of herbs, selecting a bundle. She felt the plant between her fingertips, bringing it to her nose to take in the scent. “This is…thyme? Am I right?"
     "Yes, you are.” She said. “Let me wrap that up for you.” The woman took the herbs and wrapped them up in paper, tying it up with a piece of twine.
     "How much?“ (Y/n) asked, reaching into her coin purse.
     "Take it.”
     "I can’t. I-“
     "Please. It’s a welcome gift.”
     "Thank you.“ She said, gratefully into  taking the package, tucking it into her satchel. She bid the woman farewell and gave Naalnish a command, rewarding him with a treat before walking away. She stopped at a few other stalls, and was met with the same kindness as the first woman she met. She had everything she needed to make dinner and was ready to head back to the ship and get thing ready.
     "Ok Naalnish. Time to head home.” She said, scratching behind his ear. “Naalnish. Home.” She commanded. Naalnish perked up and sniffed around. He knew where the ship was and began guiding her through the town. He took her through the market and down some alleyways. (Y/n) guessed as to where he was taking her guessing by the sound. There was no hustle and bustle of the town their footsteps. In the distance, she heard shouting, unlike what was normally heard in the market. It was a man’s shouting and it sounded fearful. Quick footsteps came running up behind her.
     "Hey. Get away from me!“ Someone shouted. Whoever shouted, brushed passed her, knocking her back. The man who he was running from grabbed (y/n) mistakenly and she felt cold metal slicing into her flesh, digging deep into her side. She screamed out in pain as it tore through her, the blade feeling like ice as it withdrew from her body. The man stumbled back, looking at Naalnish then back to (y/n) who was clutching her side.
     "Oh no… I’m sorry.” He said, running away. Naalnish barked and growled tearing the leash from her grasp and took off barking and snarling after the assailant.
     (Y/n) fell to her knees, clutching her side, and collapsed onto her stomach. She groaned, trying to form words as she dragged herself out of the alleyway in the direction of the market. Blood poured from her side and covered her hands, a smear on her face from where she wiped a tear.
     "H-help.“ She cried, her weakening arms shaking as she continued to drag herself across the dirt. "Please… Someone… Help.” She heard a woman gasp.
     "Oh! Honey!“ It was the same old woman who she had first met. "Someone, get help!” She shouted, kneeling down next to her. Her call alerted others in the area, and more ran to her side. A man picked her up and the woman ushered him into the house.
     "Dyn…“ She groaned, too quietly for anyone to hear.
     "Lay her in front of the fireplace.” The woman said. (Y/n) felt heat spreading over her cold body as someone lifted up her shirt exposing her midsection. The woman was pressing a wet cloth to her skin, wiping away the dirt and blood. A doctor arrived shortly after someone had run to find him.
     "What happened? Who did this to her?“ He said, sticking a needle in her arm.
     "I don’t know. She’s blind. She has a wolf, but he must have run away.” The woman said, now kneeling by her head, patting her forehead with a wet cloth.
     "Dyn…“ She groaned again.
     "What is she saying?” The doctor asked.
     "I don’t know. Honey, speak up.“ She said gently patting her cheek to keep her awake,
     "My husband."
     "Where is he?” The man who carried her in asked. “I can go find him.”
     "I don’t know….a cantina…he’s…“ She coughed. "A mandalorian.”
     "I’ll find him.“ He said, leaving the house. He ran to the most popular cantina in the town and burst in the front door. "Mando!” He shouted. “Has anyone seen a mandalorian anywhere?”
     No one answered, but stared at him for a minute before going back to their business. He left for the next bar which was pretty much the only shady place in the entire town. Again, he burst through the doors yelling for help, looking for a mandalorian.
     "Would you keep it down?“ A man wearing a helmet and a long cape facing the bar. He turned around and was just the man he was looking for.
     "You! You’re a mandalorian.”
     "Yeah. And you don’t look like any guild member I’ve ever seen. What do you want?“
     "I need help. I-”
     "What’s your pay?“
     "Wha-? No, I don’t have any money. You-”
     "Then get out of here. I’m looking for work.“
     "Your wife. She-” He was cut off by the Mandalorian turning to him as if he were going to attack.
     "What about her?“ He growled.
     "She’s been stabbed! Now will you follow me?” He exclaimed.
     "Take me to her.“ He said, rushing out of the bar. Dyn and the man ran through the town. It seemed like an unending journey for Dyn, but they finally made it to the house. There were drops of blood on the floor leading into the living room and by the fireplace, (y/n) lay on the floor, her skin pale.
     "Are you her husband?” The doctor asked.
     "Yes.“ He answered, trying to rush passed.
     "She’ll be alright. Keep her off her feet until the end of the week.”
     "You can stay here as long as you two need.“ The old woman said.
     "Thank you.” Dyn said, crouching down next to (y/n). “Hey.” He whispered, running a finger across her cheek. Her eyes gently fluttered open, signaling that she was awake.
     "Dyn.“ She smiled weakly.
     "What happened?” He grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
     "A man was running from someone who was going to hurt him. Whoever he was running from stuck me instead. Naalnish took off after him.
     "I’m sorry, darling. I should have been with you.“
     "It’s ok.” She said. “Otherwise, I had a wonderful day.” She tried to laugh, but it hurt to much. The attempt left her groaning in pain. Dyn looked around the room and realized they were alone. (Y/n) heard the clank of his helmet set on the floor and felt his warm lips press a kiss on her forehead.
     "You’re going to be alright.“
Caring and Kind
Mando x Reader ( baby Yoda of course!!)
summary: Mando and the reader have known each other for a while when Mando steals back his bounty the reader is by his side to help.
Readers Pov
I could see the fire and hear the fight from outside of my door... what on earth would they be fighting over now? I get up from my chair in the corner with my blaster in my hand. when I look out the window I see Mando fighting the guild and protecting what looks like a child? I quickly decide that I know how I can help I run out my back door and the place the Mandalorians stay hidden...
when I walk in it is dark and dusty but the flames bounce light off the helmets of the Mandalorians. one spots me and stands “ what are you doing here!” he points his blaster and i choose to raise my hands and state my business “ one of your own if fighting the guild he is by himself and it appears to be a losing fight. I figured you may want to help your fellow Mandalorian.” they all stood quickly some giving me nods as if they are grateful for what I have done. the one who held the blaster to me put it down and left with the others while some appeared to stay behind and pack things up.
instead of thinking on it longer you ran after them to your home to pack some of your clothes and things you would need. you lift a floorboard and pull out credits that would last you more than enough for one lifetime. you bag those and grab your clothes, food, necessities, and medical equipment. then you ran to the razorcrest and threw it all on board, you have known mando long enough to know how to get to it and where to set your things. you can hear running footsteps of someone dressed in heavy armor. you turn quickly to see Mando looking at you and holding the child “ are you going to get in and get the child to safety or not?” he looked at you and you looked behind him to see the last person you wanted to. “ hand over the child” and before you could think mando had shot him and closed the hatch.
he nudged his head towards the cockpit and you followed him. he set the child down and you got a really good look at him. he was green!! not human but definitely something. he was sickly green didn't look too healthy he is small with big ears. he looked cute even when he was sick.
Tumblr media
and you could see why Mando had gone back for him. you weren't a moron to think that fight was over nothing you figured it out quickly when you saw the fight for the child.
you were staring so intently at the child that you had not noticed that you had taken off till you heard the slightly robotic voice “ why are you here?” you looked at the back of his shiny new helmet “ because I could see from my house what was happening and I couldn't let you do it alone. you're welcome for the help.” you looked out the window to see the Mandalorian who pointed his blaster at you salute at mondo. “I need to get one of those. and you shouldn't be here. you just put yourself in a lot of danger.”
you laughed a little “I lived on a planet full of bounty hunters, I was always in danger and I'm not leaving. you're going to need my help with the little one” you could hear the small sigh of you being right.
you looked at the sweet-faced little baby that had caused all this trouble “ do you know what he is, his age or anything?” all you got back was “ he's 50 years old” you had to blink twice. this little baby is 50! well, every species is different. you gently picked up this little baby and he slowly opened his eyes to the biggest brown eyes you have ever seen! you rubbed his little forehead.
Tumblr media
he made a little cooing sound and fell right back asleep in your arms for the rest of this ride.
______________time skip__________________
a few stops on some not so friendly planets for food. and you find you have landed on Sorgan. Mando tells the baby to stay while you two will do a perimeter search of the grounds.
Tumblr media
but after being around them you saw how much the child had bonded to Mando and even to you. if you and Mando left the child had to come with as well it was cute. he was never too far behind from either of you.
Tumblr media
as you and Mando walked you carried the child, Mando is the better fighter and you have better aim. as you walked you found this small welcoming village. they were willing to offer you shelter all they had was a barn. it was more than enough for Mando, The Child, and You.
Mando had gone to do another search around the are and you watched the child. Mando had told you of the time he had eaten a frog whole. you felt gross thinking about how one could swallow a frog whole but remembered he isn't human. you looked at that adorable face when you heard steps outside the barn and grabbed a blaster. You shielded the child with your body when you saw the young widow and her daughter. “we have brought food for your friend we had noticed he didn't eat out there with the others”
you gave her a small smile your body still shielding the child “ thank you that is very kind of you to do that.” she smiled at you and set down the tray. “can i play with him” you look from the widow to the daughter and you gave her another small smile “ sure” you picked the child up out of the crib.
Tumblr media
the baby looked fairly confused but he ran after the young girl. You smiled looking at him being happy to play. Until you’re snapped out of it “ does your friend ever take it off” you shook your head no at her “ it’s his religion, no one has seen his face.” She looked shocked but left.
———————————-time skip—————————-
You watched them train the others to fight, cara fairly nice considered what she used to do.
Tumblr media
You were happy to help but your days of training other were over, you didn’t need to do it anymore you got out of that life.
The villagers got one quick. You knew what an atst could do and you were still worried about what would happen to them.
Days have passed and you and dyn haven’t had a moment to talk but him and omera has been spending lots of time together. You were woman enough to admit you are jealous.
But what really set you off was right before the fight he handed the child to omera and not to you the child squealed and it wasn’t out of glee or happiness. He was scared and his little head was moving around almost like he was looking for you...
You heard steps behind you and it was cara she put her hand on her shoulder “ he will learn” you knew what she was talking about. But you doubted it.
Mando looked at you and seemed to be walking towards you and you walked the other way, you knew it was petty. But you are hurt.
Mando POV
Why was she walking away from me? I wanted to talk to her we haven’t talked much these few weeks and I miss her babbling about her day or her favorite thing then it hit me.... I love her. From the day she got on the crest she and I created a bond that cannot be broken.... I needed her
Reader POV
We all prepared behind the barrier getting ready to fight I held a blaster getting ready for it. When you something shiny running in your direction. You realized it was mando and you all hid and you saw the giant ATST walking towards the trap you have set but it paused and the full blown invasion began. It all zoomed past you as you began to fight. Near the end you were struck by one of the invaders a and it hurt in your mid and you dropped. Everything is bleary and you black out.
Mando POV
I saw her drop and and I raged harder than ever I jumped out of the water and ran and killed who had harmed her. I ran and grabbed her to take her to the medical building they had set up.
I was panicking what would I do if she was gone?how would the kid get along? How would I survive knowing I could’ve done something?
I watched the nurses work on her when I felt a hand on my shoulder it was omera the last woman I wanted to see. It wasn’t her fault it was my own I negelegted the woman I loved.
When they finished working on her I helped move her to the barn we are staying in to rest. The child was brought to us. He immediately moved towards (y/n) I tried to keep him away from her but I ultimately failed. He plopped himself on the floor right next to her and just laid there.
It feels like it’s been forever since she was awake. I miss her, the baby only moved to eat and even then he barely moved. Other than that. I kept taking my helmet off just to look at her with a better view but I knew the moment she woke up it would have to go back on.
Her breathing was steady at least. The child moved almost as if to lay on her chest and I went to move him when I saw her hand twitch and I grabbed my helmet..
Reader POV
I slowly opened my eyes and felt a weight on my chest and looked to see the baby. He gave a squeal of delight, and you chuckled “well hello” your voice rough from lack of use.
You began to look around the room for Dyn. But he was already walking towards you with water in hand. You let out a smile. Then you heard his voice “ how are you feeling? Are you hungry? You’ve been out for about a week.” You were hungry and you felt fine. “ I feel fine, do we have any food?”
He nodded and got up quickly. You’ve never seen him move so fast.
You looked at the baby and he just stared at you with a small smile. And you smiled back.
Tumblr media
You couldn’t imagine a life without this little guy. You could hear Dyn walking back in and you looked up at him. And you could see the baby so happy to see him. And even more happy to see the water and food in his hand.
He handed it to you and you began to devour the food. You were starving, you heard what you thought was a chuckle but shook it off.
When you were done you looked at the baby in your lap and then at Dyn. “ what has happened since I was out?” You could feel him looking at you “ the villagers rebuilt what ever was destroyed. And it’s been silent.” You nodded and looked back at him “ where’s cara?” He looked at you then someone knocked on the door.
You see cara and she doesn’t look to happy. But smiles when she sees you “ you guys cannot stay longer it’s not safe.” Before you asked why she threw a tracking fob on the ground.
It was for the child and you knew that. You sighed looking down at the young child. You knew you would leave soon. “ we will get packed up, thank you cara for everything” you looked at her. You were grateful for her and all her help. And she looked at mando as if to ask if I’m okay.
Tumblr media
Soon after you began to pack. You all loaded onto the cart and the hardest part was the child, he was soo sad to say goodbye to his new found friends
Tumblr media
It hurt your heart as he made a sound as you drove back to the crest. You could see mando lean back and the baby followed suit.
Then you just waited to get back to the crest to keep fighting to see another day... another day to live and fight... a day to keep your small family together.
You thought mando was asleep and you said “ why did I have to fall for a man in a mask. I choose to love him even when many say not too.”
Then you saw his head move “ the masked man loves you too”. You chuckled and moved towards him to rest against him and you felt him freeze then relax and wrap an arm around you.
You were home as along as it was the three of you.
This is written for James' birthday. I'm mad he's not alive.
This is also a modern AU with no Voldy
Translations are at the bottom :)
“Can you tell me why the bloody fuck we decided to go to a theme park in November?”
“James, mate, you’re scaring the children.” Sirius scolded, and James huffed in response.
"I can see my bloody breath! And you aren’t cold cause you’ve got your bloody boyfriend to warm you up. And Pete couldn’t come, no matter how much he wanted and unless your brother-”
“Don’t even finish that sentence, Potter.” Regulus bit, and James made a disgruntled noise when Remus laughed.
“Oh, don’t you even start, Remus. Sirius is practically drowning in your jacket. No wonder neither of you wankers are complaining!”
“Language!”
The new, higher voice came from behind them in the line, and they turned to see a middle-aged woman covering the ears of a little boy, no older than ten, with a mix of shock and amusement on his face.
“Is there a problem, ma’am?” James asked politely, and the woman huffed.
“Yes. I don’t want you talking that way in front of my son.”
“I’m not allowed to say wanker?”
“Hey! What did I just say? I am behind you, and I want you to stop speaking in those disgusting words.”
 James was confused for a second before his face was plastered in a shit-eating grin.
“Je parle une langue. Français, pour être exact.”
“What? Speak english,we’re in America.” The women snapped, and Sirius snickered from behind James while Remus groaned, and Regulus looked torn between bewilderment and amusement.
“Quid de latine? Nec?”
The woman was obviously growing frustrated, and James took full advantage of it.
“ A yw'r Gymraeg yn well? Dyma fy hoff un. Ddim mor rhamantus â Ffrangeg, chi'n gweld, ond gan fy mod i'n eithaf unig ac nad yw'r person rydw i mewn cariad ag ef yn gallu siarad Cymraeg, rydw i'n mynd i'w siarad. Y dyn y tu ôl i mi, rydych chi'n ei weld, y gwallt brown, mae'n fy neall i, wel efallai ddim bellach, mae wedi bod yn amser ers iddo ei siarad, ond dydy'r ddau arall ddim. Rydw i mewn gwirionedd mewn cariad â brawd ei gariad. Ie, y bachgen arall. Y gwallt du byr. Mae'n hollol anhygoel. Mae'n edrych fel ei fod wedi curo'ch asyn, ond ni fydd - wel, efallai'ch un chi. Ond mae mor felys a charedig ac mae fy Nuw ei wên yr un mor ffycin hardd mae'n gwneud fy niwrnod cyfan. A phan mae'n chwerthin, sy'n achlysur prin, mae hi mor goddamn hyfryd sut na allech chi garu'r bachgen hwn. Nid eich bod chi'n gwybod beth rydw i'n ei ddweud. Ac rydw i'n rantio yn Gymraeg i ddynes ar hap sy'n wallgof arna i. Rhyfeddol.”
Someone further back in the line yelled “Mynnwch y bachgen!” but James didn’t pay it much mind, instead staring the woman who was almost red in the face with her anger.
“Well,if that’s all.” James gave a polite smile and turned back to his friends. "Happy birthday, Sirius."
Sirius let out a bark of laughter and pushed closer into Remus, pulling the jacket tighter around them. Regulus looked at James with amusement and confusion.
“What?”
“You speak Welsh? And French and Latin?” Regulus asked, and James nodded.
“I mean, obviously. What else could I have been speaking?”
Regulus rolled his eyes and turned back around to the front of the line, pointing forward. “We aren’t too far from the front. Maybe five minutes.”
After they had ridden the roller coaster (James screamed, Regulus laughed at him) they decided to get some food before getting on another ride, the ride being a carousel.
“Why a carousel? Sirius, you’re turning twenty-two, not two.” Regulus reasoned, though they were already in line and it didn’t do much.
“Because I can. Besides, I’m not acting like I’m two. ”
“Yeah? Well look at James! He’s acting like he’s five!”
“Hey!”
“Oh, you are!”
“It’s cold, okay! I’m trying to stay warm!”
“You’re a bloody wizard!” Regulus whisper-shouted, careful to not be overheard. “Use a damn heating charm!”
“Remus took my wand!” James whispered back, and Remus smiled from in front of them.
“If you say so.”
James huffed and continued the small dance he was doing, now bobbing his head back and forth in front of Regulus’ face to annoy him. Regulus rolled his eyes and turned him around, shoving him forward in line. James stumbled, but regained his balance and turned around again, repeating his dance and head motions before Regulus turned and pushed him forward again.
This continued a few more times until Regulus grew tired of it, gripping James’ shoulders to get him to stop.
“Quit it, Potter.”
“Make me, Black.”
James started bobbing his head again, and then Regulus’ hands weren’t on his shoulders.
They were on his hips, bringing James closer until Regulus was kissing him, and James was kissing back, Regulus’ fingers digging into James’ waist, reminding him that he was awake. There was grumbling somewhere behind them, but James couldn’t care less, now that he was finally kissing Regulus, and Regulus was kissing him back, after what was almost seven years of pining and secret plans that never worked.
James brought his hands up to Regulus’ face, cradling his cheeks and angling his head as he deepened the kiss.
“Oi!” Sirius shouted from somewhere, though it was hard for James to focus on anything except for Regulus surrounding him and filling every one of his senses.
 The only thing he felt was the scratchy stubble on Regulus' face, and Regulus' hands holding on to his hips. The only thing he could taste was the mango chapstick Regulus used religiously. The only thing he could smell was Regulus' cologne, which smelt like whiskey and old books, something that reminded him of Hogwarts. The only thing he heard was Regulus' breathing, and the almost non existent moan that came when James opened his mouth to willingly let Regulus in.
"Stop snogging my brother and get on the ride." Sirius' voice came, and James broke their kiss, still holding Regulus' face, to face Sirius.
"No."
And he turned back around, reconnecting his and Regulus' lips.
"Fine then. Come on, Moony. Leave Prongs to defile my baby brother."
Translations (if i messed up on any of these, I apolgize.)
"Je parle une langue. Français, pour être exact.”----- "I am speaking a language. French, to be exact."
“Quid de latine? Nec?”------- “What about Latin? No?”
“A yw'r Gymraeg yn well? Dyma fy hoff un. Ddim mor rhamantus â Ffrangeg, chi'n gweld, ond gan fy mod i'n eithaf unig ac nad yw'r person rydw i mewn cariad ag ef yn gallu siarad Cymraeg, rydw i'n mynd i'w siarad. Y dyn y tu ôl i mi, rydych chi'n ei weld, y gwallt brown, mae'n fy neall i, wel efallai ddim bellach, mae wedi bod yn amser ers iddo ei siarad, ond dydy'r ddau arall ddim. Rydw i mewn gwirionedd mewn cariad â brawd ei gariad. Ie, y bachgen arall. Y gwallt du byr. Mae'n hollol anhygoel. Mae'n edrych fel ei fod wedi curo'ch asyn, ond ni fydd - wel, efallai'ch un chi. Ond mae mor felys a charedig ac mae fy Nuw ei wên yr un mor ffycin hardd mae'n gwneud fy niwrnod cyfan. A phan mae'n chwerthin, sy'n achlysur prin, mae hi mor goddamn hyfryd sut na allech chi garu'r bachgen hwn. Nid eich bod chi'n gwybod beth rydw i'n ei ddweud. Ac rydw i'n rantio yn Gymraeg i ddynes ar hap sy'n wallgof arna i. Rhyfeddol.” ------------------------------------- Is welsh any better? It's my favorite. Not as romantic as French, you see, but since I'm quite lonely and the person I'm in love with can't speak Welsh, I'm going to speak it. The man behind me, you see him, the brown hair, he understands me, well maybe not anymore, it's been a while since he spoke it, but the other two don't. I'm actually in love with his boyfriend's brother. Yeah, the other boy. The short black hair. He's absolutely amazing. He looks like he'd beat your ass, but he won't - well, maybe yours. But he's so sweet and kind and my god his smile is just so fucking beautiful it just makes my entire day. And when he laughs, which is a rare occasion, it's just so goddamn gorgeous how could you not love this boy. Not that you know what I'm saying. And I'm ranting in Welsh to a random lady who's mad at me. Wonderful.
Mynnwch y bachgen!-----Get the boy!
It’s after midnight on the now-empty streets of Medellín. Steve’s run off to flag down the ambulance; you get more impatient with every second. Any fear of your surroundings is dissipated; all your focus is now on Javier.
You’re cradling his head in your lap on the cold cement. You smooth his sweat-plastered hair out of his face, talking to him to keep him awake.
“Help is on the way,” you whisper with feigned confidence, as though you’re trying to convince yourself rather than him. “You just have to hold on a little longer.”
Javier opens his eyes, but he doesn’t seem to be looking at you.
“Javi,” you try to sound calm but it comes out like a whimper. “Please stay with me. I can’t…lose you. I don’t know what I’d do.” The tears are streaming down your cheeks now, and you don’t try to stop them.
“You’re going to be okay, hermosa. Even without me.” It comes out hoarse, but he manages to give you a weak smirk. His hand cups your face, gently stroking your cheek with his thumb. “Everything is going to be fine,” he insists. You take his hand as he lets go, his blood staining your own hands.
“Are you really telling me that while there’s two bullets in you right now?” You shake your head and let out a chuckle through the tears. He can be so ridiculous sometimes.
~
The lights in the hospital room are kept dim in an attempt to help Javier sleep. You’re thankful; the harsh fluorescent lights always put you more on edge as it is.
Of course, they’re mistaken if they think he’ll sleep easily. The man is drugged up on opiates and at best, he’s a bit drowsy and dazed.
The small clock on the wall reads 4:10, but you can’t remember if that’s AM or PM. You’ve been awake with him for hours now; it’s silent, but your head won’t stay quiet.
“Javi, I—” you start.
“You don’t need to say anything—” he interrupts and meets your gaze, and there’s a different sort of look in his eyes, almost like apprehension. His voice is rough, and there’s another lump in your throat again. In another time and place, you might listen to him. You’re afraid, too, but there won’t be a better time than now.
“Please, just let me talk, Javier,” you say, pursing your lips. You lean forward in the creaky chair and he blinks hard before turning to look at you. He doesn’t answer, but his eyes crinkle in mild amusement. You’re always so stubborn, he thinks.
You place your hand over his, and he takes it, gripping it lightly. He looks concerned.
“Please don’t ever think that I wouldn’t need you,” you say. “I thought I’d seen enough violence here to become numb. But when you were bleeding onto my hands, I—I’m not.”
I’m scared for you every time you’re out there with me, Javier thinks to himself, but continues to listen.
“You’ve given me something to believe in again.” His chest constricts. I’ve found the best of myself in you, his mind echoes.
“You’re rough on the edges, Javi.” You smile, teasing him. “But you make me a better person.” I don’t deserve you.
You’re scared to say it, because you can’t take it back once you do. “I think I’m—”
“How do you think this ends?” Javier whispers, out of nowhere. “With you, or me, or both of us in some hospital—if we’re lucky—bleeding out until the other is left alone?”
“What?” you answer, a bit thrown off.
“We…we shouldn’t do this anymore, Y/N. I just—” he tries to shake his head. “It’s not good for us. I can’t put you through this every time.”
“Javi, what are you talking about—You’ve got too many meds in your system,” you sputter, wiping away at the tears you didn’t realize had fallen.
“No,” he shakes his head again. “This isn’t the first time I’ve thought of it.”
“You were bleeding out yesterday—Steve was there too, remember? He was scared, just like me. We’re all partners, we go through these things together—”
“Exactly—that’s all we should be. Partners.” He says it louder than he means to.
You can see his eyes turning red as if he’s holding back his own tears, but you don’t know what to say to that.
“I can’t believe what you’re doing,” you say quietly as your hands shake.
“Please,” he says again. His voice is still calm, but it sounds like he’s pleading. “Please. You know I’m right.” You’re breaking my heart, he repeats in his head.
You won’t change his mind; you know this. You blink away the tears and try to pull yourself together. He doesn’t meet your eyes.
“Miss?” The nurse enters the room, and you wonder if she can feel the chill in the air. “I need to recheck some things on him, if you don’t mind stepping out.”
You stand up to leave. The nurse looks at you and mistakes the tears for a different kind of defeat. “He’ll be alright, miss,” she says. You walk out before her, barely acknowledging her words.
He watches you go and suddenly the world is heavy again. I love you, too.
“Is this really happening? Holy shit this is happening.”
Y/n was rambling as the two ride down a different route just like the mandalorian said last night. He was lucky enough to get some sleep last night since Y/n suddenly blew up in excitement once Dyn mentioned about helping him escape the royalty life. “this is really happening!!” Dyn groans and stops the other with his own horse. “Listen I said that I was going to help you but if you continue to be annoying then I wont hesitate to turn us around and take you directly to Druklok.” The mandalorian threatens out, he wants in the mood right now.
Y/n’s blinks a few times with wide eyes before nodding in return. “Got it, be less annoying.” He says with a nervous smile. The mandalorian turns his horse back to the front, rolling his eyes under his helmet. He was slowly getting a liking from the prince but now he was just getting on his nerves. He knows that the prince is excited to leave everything behind and to start fresh in a whole new place.
As the two began to ride faster through the woods and valleys, the prince was able to experience things that he’s never experienced before! Coming across other villages and new tribes that he’s only heard in stories, he should’ve gone out more often but knowing his father he wouldn’t allow him to travel farther than the village that was close to the kingdom. Y/n loved the village and the people but this was new to him and he was loving this, finally running away from home. A place that only gave him bad memories.
“Will be stopping here.” He hears the mandalorian say, getting off his own horse. Y/n does the same and held onto the reigns, gently touching the horse mane as he looks around the small town. “This place looks cozy?” He tilts his head to the side, the people of this town were different. They had their own stands up as the sold materials and expensive items that he’s only seen in a few places. “You’ll get used to it, besides we’re only staying here for the night.” The mandalorian finds them a nice place to stay for the night. “Your father gave us two weeks to arrive to Druklok and where we are going is only two days away so he wont suspect a thing.” Y/n follows the mandalorian through the villages stables, apparently they are to sleep in the stables. Not that Y/n was complaining, he’s slept in the stables back at home many times. “Won’t my father send out guards to come searching for me once he gets word about us never arriving to Druklok.” He finds a perfect spot to set his bag down, tossing himself onto the huge pile of dry grass, letting out a tired sigh.
“He will, but where we are going is far away from everything and its hidden. He won’t find us.” Dyn was adjusting his basker armor, sitting down in his own spot he leans back to stare at the ceiling. “SO where exactly are we going?” The prince turns onto his side to get a better look of the mandalorian. The other continued to stare up at the ceiling, “Back to my place, figured the others wouldn’t mind having you around as long as you dont tell anyone about where we are located.”
Y/n’s eyes widen. “you sure that’s a good idea?” He whispered out. “I dont want to be a burden and ruin your culture or something with me around.” He quickly began to say, making up some more excuse to not go. The mandalorian rolls his eyes, turning to his side he used his gloved hand to cover the others mouth, stopping him from continuing on. “Stop it, you are going and you wont be a burden and that’s final.” He could feel the princes warm breath against his gloved hand, slowly uncovering his mouth. “Now sleep.” He commands, turning back to his own side of the dry grass, facing his back to y/n.
The prince licks his lips, breathing softly he curls up in his spot. He watched as the mandalorian shifts around trying to find a comfortable position, moving his head around, Y/n noticed how uncomfortable he feels with the helmet on. “You should take it off.” He blurts out, gasping in shock he covers his own mouth. Dyn sighs, “You know I can’t do that, it remains on even if I’m around someone.” He answers. “This is the way.”
Y/n thinks and sits up, “I won’t look.” He reached inside his bag and finds some bandages, smiling he uses that to cover up his eyes. Using it as a blindfold, The mandalorian sat up and watched the other blindfold himself. “Won’t look, promise.” Y/n held his hands up, “and I always keep a promise.” He adds.
Dyn waved his hand in front of the princes face, his body language didn’t change which gave him the cue to remove his helmet without worrying about the other seeing him. “I’m guessing that its off?” The prince could hear the mandalorian removing his own helme, the rustling of grass as he sets it down. “It’s off.”
“Good.” Y/n smiles proudly before lying back down, getting hisemlf adjusted. Yawning he curls up, “Get some rest mando.” He mumbled out with a smile before he began to fall asleep first.
Once dyn took notice of the other sleeping he was able to let out a deep breath that he was holding in. He lies back down but this time he felt a little more comfortable without the helmt, he placed his arms behind his head and stares up at the broken ceiling that had a hole on top, giving him a perfect view of the stars.
The next morning, dyn was the first to be awake. Making sure that he had his helmet back on before the prince could wake up, he expected the prince to break his promise and remove the blindfold during the night but as it turns out he kept his promise. “Time to get up your highness.” Dyn nudged the other awake, causing the prince to groan, turning around to face his back, rolling away from the other. “Five more minutes.” He mumbles out.
Dyn rolls his eyes. “I thought a prince was suppose to wake up early.”
“Yeah but this prince is no longer a prince...” Y/n sits up and removed his blindfold, wincing form the bright light as he adjusts his eyes, rubbing them. “Is the helmet back on?” He suddenly asks, keeping his eyes closed for a little while longer until dyn gave him the confirmation. “It’s back on.”
“Good.” Y/n blinks his eyes opened and smiles weakly. “Can we just travel for the next two days without stopping so that I can sleep in for two whole days straight?” He hears the mandalorian chuckle at him, standing up he dusts himself off and picks out the dry grass that have stuck onto his clothes before moving over to his horse. “Can you handle two days without stopping and eating?” Y/n whines, adjusting the horses saddle before climbing on, lying his head on the horses mane. “I hate you...” he grumbled out.
“And I find you annoying.” Dyn replies back without hesitation, getting offended ‘Hey’ from the other. He climbs onto his own horse and smiles. “Come on lets get moving.” He felt the horse move, leaving the stables and passing through the village once more before they reach a clearing that lead them to their next destination. Y/n was lucky enough to bring a book from home, reading it as the two rode in silence. He had an apple hanging from his mouth, flipping the pages in his book before finally taking another bite of his apple.
The mandalorian stares at the other for a short while, still getting used to the princes presence. Everytime people spoke about royalty he always thought of them to be brats and selfish until he finally met the prince who actually had his own standers and didn’t see anyone as a low life. He was different, that’s what caused the mandalorian to get a small set of feelings for the other. He already knows that the prince isn’t interested in women so he doesn’t need to worry about that anymore. He’s also a single father with a kid waiting for him back at home, will the prince really be up to helping him raise the little one? I mean the prince has asked about the kid many times which has suddenly turned into an interest for the man. Maybe he’s the kind of guy that he can actually get along with, the two have been talking about each others past lives and no judgement has happened between the two. He feels like he can trust this prince with his life.
“Mando?”
Dyn hears the prince next to him, turning to face him he smiles. “You okay?” Y/n asks with a small worrried look on his face, his hand was clutching his own book. “I’m alright, why you asking?” The prince shrugs, “You’ve just been quiet for a long period of time and I know that we usually do that and its normal but it felt like the air around us suddenly went tense you know?” The mandalorian was surpised by the princes observation. He’s use to travel alone and in quiet so he didn’t notice anything change between the two until now. “I was just thinking.” Said Dyn.
“Okay, I know its a long trip. Maybe we can talk in case you’re bored?” He offers. “Alright, What do you walk to talk about.” Mando breaths out a sigh, placing his hands in front of him and crossing them, causing the prince to glance down at the way his hands are arranged, blushing a little. Suddenly finding it attractive.
He clears his throat before speaking. “Mando isnt your name is it?”
Mando sighs again, shaking his head. “I know where this is going.”
“Do you really?” Y/n smirks at the mandalorian. “I bet you I can guess your name.”
“Is that a challenge, cyare?”
Y/n’s eyes widen at the sudden language change, he opens his mouth to ask what it meant but decides not too. “A challenge that you must accept.”
“Jackson?”
“No.”
“Lupin?”
“No.”
“Oh! REN!”
“Please stop.”
The prince has been at it for the past two hours now, trying to guess the mandalorian name but hasn’t succeed. He wasn’t even close to win this challenge. “Come on just give me a hint!” He other begs, whining at the same time as he leans back in his own horse.
The mandalorian continued to look forward before sighing in defeat. “Has three letters.”
“MAX!”
“No again, now stop trying or else you’ll get even more annoying before we even arrive to the next village.” Said mando.
Y/n grumbles, crossing his arms over his chest as he pouts. “Next village is another two hours away, we still have time to do something.” He shrugs. Leaning back, he lifts his hand up, shaping it into an ‘L’. “What are you doing?”
“Calculating our distance.”
“By looking at the sky?”
Y/n glares at the mandalorian, “It’s not that hard, I learned this from my mother.” He explains, moving his hand around a current angle. “It mostly works at night, the stars help you and guide you to where you are heading. I’m still learning how to do it when the sun is out, usually the clouds help too.” He lowers his hand back down to his side, sitting himself up.
“Does it really work?” The mandalorian has heard of different ways of knowing where you are but this is new to him. “Of course it does and to prove it,” he grins, repeating the same process again. “We should be approaching a small town in a few minutes.” He tells him, “I don’t think that possible to know.”
Y/n smiles and pouts over the hill, the mandalorian turns to see a small town appearing as the got closer. “Hell, I guess you were right.” He says softly with a smile. “Think you can teach me something like that?” The prince chuckles at the mandalorian. “I can try but it wont be easy.” He nudged the horse forward, the two were approaching the town. Y/n was smiling as they got closer, but as they approached he noticed a familiar crowd that he’s seen before. “Shit.” He hissed out. “What is it?”
“Imperial guards.” He whispered out and stops the horse from moving any closer, he quickly gets off and gets down. The mandalorian does the same once he mentioned ‘imperial’. “What are they doing all the wya out here?” He asks, lying down by the other as they watched the guards walk around the entrance of town. There red capes flowing behind them as Y/n bites his lip. He thinks about his father and groans, slamming his fist agaisnt the ground. “Damn he knows, he knew that I was going to leave.” He exclaims out in a hushed tone. “My father already knows me to well that he must’ve sent these imperial guards out to bring me back home if I were cause problems.” Y/n Grips his hair in frustration.
Mando listens to the other rage, he turns his gaze back to town and looks around. trying to find a way around without being seen. A plan quickly comes into mind once he spots a carriage being pulled by a horse, the owner was distracted collecting some herbs. “I’ve got a plan.” He tells y/n. “Will have to lead the horses around town so that we meet them on the other side, while that happens you and I will sneak inside by hiding inside that mans carriage.” He stands up and grabs the horses, pulling them forward. “Uh, mando I dont think its going to be that easy.”
“Wow, it was that easy.”
Mandos plan had actually worked, they were able to get through town without being sene by the imperial guards, but that doesn’t mean that they wont be walking around the streets. The carriage had only made it half way through the town which meant that they had to continue on foot. “As much as your planned worked, We could really use a second one right now.” He whispered.
The two were hiding behind a building, they were causally making their way through town until they bumped into two guards. Causing the prince to squeak in surpise and cause attention, so yes it was his fault that they were chasing after them. “Maybe if you kept quiet we could’ve made it across.” The mandalorian glared at the prince but that only caused the other to glare back. “Hey they are after me, not you!” He whispered out in a hush tone, watching the mandalorian look both ways before he takes his arm and dragged the prince through the crowds.
Y/n leans close to the mandalorian, not wanting to lose the other while they walked around the crowded streets. “How far is the next exit?” He asks and makes his way around the place. “Just a little further, once we arrive we get on our horses and leave before we get noticed again.” He instructs which the prince agrees to very quickly.
As they make a sharp turn, y/n notices an imperial guard watching them form afar, he was following the two through the crowds. “Mando.” He whispered close to the others ears. “We’re being followed.” This caused the mandalorian to glance over his shoulder, spotting a familiar red coat he pulls the prince along and began to make a run for it. “Lets go!” He shouts. The two ran through the crowds, y/n would apologize every now and then when he would bump into a someone.
Y/n sees more imperial guards up ahead. “Shit.” His eyes darted around until he finds a perfect hiding spot. “Over here!” He grabs the mandalorian by the hand and drags him into a corner, it was small but they two were able to squeeze in. They were both chest to chest, breathing heavily. Y/n sees the imperial guards pass by them, not noticing the two. He lets out a deep breath that he was holding in.
The mandalorian did the Same, leaning his head back against the cold stone. “Best we stay here for a little while longer.” Said the prince, wiggling around to adjust himself. “Stop moving.”
“Well, sorry I’m not quiet comfortable.” Y/n hisses out, the two were moving at the same time which only ended up with y/n having both legs on either side of the mandalorian, caging him in and pressing up against him. He tries his best to hide his red face, “Are you—?”
“Shut. Up.”
It wasn’t the princes fault that he was getting a boner, the position the two were in wasnt exactly comfortable for Y/n, he feels like he’s violating him or something! The two were very close that they didn’t have enough room to even breath. “Just, hold still...” he mumbles out.
The mandalorian sighs but does as he’s told, remaining still as he waits for the other to stop moving. “Okay I give up.” He finally says in defeat, not being able to find a much more suitable position. The prince was now back to their normal position, chest to chest. Y/n slowly raised his head to come face to face with the mandalorians helmet. Without thinking the prince slowly reached up to place his hands on either side of the helmet, he was expecting mando to stop him but he wasn’t, he’s actually going to let him see his face?
As Y/n began to lift the helmet up, the mandalorian lifts his own hand up to cover the others eyes. Leaving the prince frozen in place with the helmet only Half way up, reavaling the mandalorian bottom half of his face. “Mando—“ He’s cut off by a pair of lips on his own, catching the other by surpise he swallows his own gasp.
God how long has it been since he’s last kissed a man?
The prince and mandalorian were both stuck in a tight spot with imperial guards roaming around the area.
Here the two are, kissing each other like it meant everything. Y/n’s hands were still holding up the helmet as he continued to kiss him, he felt the other bite his bottom lip causing him to moan in pleasure. The mandalorian kept his hand over the princes eyes, he couldn’t allow him to see just yet but this was okay, right?
The two continued kissing, Y/n had shifted closer to the mandalorian now.
Dyn had one leg between the princes, using his other hand to pull him by the waist. The kiss was slow but heated, full of passion. Y/n was the first to pull away, catching his breath. His hands were trembling a little and lowers down the helmet, giving the mando permission to remove his own hand now.
Dyn pants softly, looking at the other. Y/n’s face was all red and his lips were swollen, the prince groans and used his long sleeve to wipe away the sweat that had suddenly appeared around his face. The two remained silent, allowing the noisy streets to be the only thing heard between the two.
Dyn was the first one to break the silence, “That was,” he clears his throat. “Unexpected.”
Y/n lets out a dry chuckle. “Does that mean it was good?” He questions with a raised brow. The mandalorian chuckles in return, “I think it was more than just good.”
The two were finally able to escape from the imperial guards, getting on their horses that were waiting on the other side. Y/n groans as he climbs up, “lets move before we get spotted.” He said with a grin, riding off into the woods. The horse moved quickly, jumping over logs and small ponds that they encountered. The mandalorian wasn’t far behind, chasing after the prince as he lets out a laugh form under his helmet. Y/n laughs loudly and shakes his head, then two ride in quick speed.
Once they were far away from the town they were able to slow down this time, y/n was still smiling from the events. Sitting up tall and happily on his horse. “Someone’s happy.” Said the mandalorian. “Can’t I be happy?” The other chuckles, “You can.” The mandalorian was also smiling under his own helmet, he thought that y/n was going to force him to talk about their kiss back there but just the comfortable silence and smiles was enough to tell him that they were in good terms and could possibly mean something more.
“Are we there yet?”
“No.”
“Are we there yet?’
“No.”
“How about now?”
“If you keep asking I’m going to gag you.”
“Oh kinky.”
Dyn groans deeply, this has been going on for almost ten minutes. They were half way there but y/n has decided to act like any annoying child and bug the mandalorian. Asking him every second if they were anywhere close to the mandalorian home. “Are you always this annoying?”
“You asked me that literally the first day we met and the answers is always the same; yes.” The prince responds back, smiling as he sways from side to side. Trying to keep himself entertained from their travelers. “Sorry I just get bored easily when we aren’t doing anything besides riding the horse, which means that my crouch is going out be sore for the next couple of days.” He winced out, adjusting hisself on the saddle. “You wanted to run away so your gonna have to deal with the pain.”
“Your gonna have to deal with the pain.” Y/n mimics back in a childish tone, looking away from the other. “Ive got a feeling that the kid is going to take a liking towards you.” this brought y/n’s attention, perking up with a smile on his face. “really what makes you think that?”
“Your both chaotic, I can tell when the kid is teasing me without having to hear him say a word. You two are almost alike.” The mandalorian could hear the other laughing, his shoulders were shaking as he laughs. “Am I really That chaotic?” He laughs out. The mandalorian sighs. “Yes you are.”
He was only a few miles away from home, he could feel his own kid close by. “We’re almost there, but for now will rest here for tonight.” Said dyn. Stopping his own horse as he gets off the animal. Y/n does the same, taking the horses and tying them close to a tree, he makes sure that they are well fed and drink enough water for there travels. “I can tell that your ansty to get home.” Dyn was building them a fire when he hears the other. “I can feel the kid, he’s close which means that we are close.”
The prince sits across from mando. “This kid of yours, you once mentioned that he was special. Can I ask why?” Y/n rolled up some blankets into pillows, grabbing some extra blankets to use for the night as well. He sets one on the mandos side, “The kid has these abilites, he can sense when something is wrong or when someone is good or bad.” He explains, starting the fire as it lit up their campsite. “Heard about those abilites before, some people used to have it but their kind have somehow gone extinct.”
“Wait, wait, wait, so this kid that you adopted isnt human?”
Dyn couldn’t help but laugh at the princes expression. “No he’s not and he wont hurt anyone he’s been with me for a couple of years now.” He adds, watching the princes face change from confusion to shock and then to surprise. “Thats strange, I’ve never heard of such creatures, well expect in history books but they took place hundreds of years ago. Maybe this kid has more of his own kind, have you tried to search for anymore?”
Dyn has tried but he never found anything about the kids kind. Instead of wasting his time on searching for the kids species he might as well and raise the kid on his own. He never planned on settling down until he got the kid but that didn’t stop him from continuing on with his missions. He used to focus on his mission when he was alone but now that he had the kid he tries to balance out his work and the kid.
“Don’t think its worth it, the kid needs someone even if its not from the same species he still needs someone to take care of him.”
“And that’s were you come in, correct?” Y/n asks with a small smile and sighs. “You must’ve struggled with the kid sometimes but hey, your learning and that’s a good thing.” He shrugs, using a stick to poke at the burning wood. Watching as the ashes float away into the air. “Yeah.” The mandalorian uses the blanket that y/n rolled up as a pillow to lie on. He stares up at the stars and listens to the other talk to himself as he poked at the fire.
He began to think about the prince living with the rest of the mandalorians, maybe he can teach him the culture and the language, teach him a thing or two. He just doesn’t know if their leader would appreciate him bringing the prince along.
Dyn hears the sound of rustling from a distance, causing him to sit up quickly and pulls out his own blade, noticing the prince do the same and move clear towards him. “Stay here.” He orders, the prince slowly nods. Staying behind as he watched the mandalorian disappear into the trees. Y/n stands up, he puts his blade away and decides to use his own sword, he’s trained for stuff like this that he doesn’t have to feel afraid anymore.
Gripping his sword he continued to look over to where the mandalorian had disappeared, hearing movement coming through the trees, he bites his lip. Before he could swing his own sword he gets a glimpse of the silver helmet that the mando wold wear everyday and every second. Sighing in relief he lowered down his sword, “was anyone following us?” He asks, putting his sword back in his belt.
“Yes.” Dyn grunts out, he came out of the trees and into the light. He was holding a small child in his arms. The child cooed at the mandalorian, its ears wiggling in excitement. “It’s—“
“I’m going to kill them.” He growls out in anger, which caught y/n by surpise. He’s never seen the mandalorian angry before and he wasnt planning on seeing it again. “Kill who exactly?” He says out nervously, not wanting to pull any dangerous strings that’ll only cause the other to get even more upset.
Dyn held the child in his arms. “This is...my son, he was suppose to be back at home but somehow he ended up out here when he should be at home with someone watching over him.” He explains, holding the kid up to his covered up face. The child giggles, placing its tiny hands on the mandos helmet. “This is him? He’s adorable.” The other coos out, catching the child attention and turning to look at the stranger. The child felt a very nice and warm presence coming from the other man, he reaches out to take y/n’s index finger in his own small hand. “Now he is a strange one but also unique.” He breaths out. “He must’ve followed us, he probably knew that I was coming and found a way to get to this place without getting caught or seen.” He watched the two interact, making him smile.
The child streached his other hand out and made grabby hands for the other. Y/n is surpised by the child choice of wanting to be held by the other. He looks at the mandalorian for permission which he quickly gets once the mando nods, y/n takes the child into his arms. “Hello little one.”
Dyn smiles at the two, the child had quickly gotten attached to y/n and from the looks of it, Y/n has also grown attached too the kid, it was probably the big ears or eyes that caused the prince to fall for the kid.
“Dyn.”
“Im sorry?” Y/n turns his attention to the mandalorian.
“My name is dyn jarren.”
The prince smiles, “Dyn.” He likes the way it sounds. “I like it.” He whispered out, standing closer to Dyn. Holding the kid in his arms as both Dyn and Y/n lean forward, hsi helmet presses up agaisnt the others forehead as he smiles.
For the first time in years, Y/n finally felt like he was home.
