Dear Lanayru
While the Water Goddess’s magic is recharging, Nerin writes her letters almost every night.
ooc bailey: @ourgalaxiescollide i hope i wrote her ok, lol i wanted to do something for this hc :)
(In this one Lanayru is ~ 700 years old)
Dear Lanayru,
30 days without you- it has felt like an eternity.
The maidens are doing just fine, the skies in both our Realms are clear, I try to stand up straight, to fulfill my duties just like I was made to do. But my heart aches because there is something missing. You are not here next to me.
The glowing on your hands is beginning to fade- the Dwellers told me it’s a good sign, that you’re almost done recharging. Please, I know you won’t read this until you are back with us, but don’t keep me waiting too much longer, ok?
I hope your return to consciousness, whenever that may be, is smooth and painless. And I hope that I can be there by your side when it happens.
Lorelei and Marin have been guarding your back door today. With you gone, the Dwellers like to talk to me, so they don’t feel alone. Sure, they have each other, but nothing is the same without their Goddess.
My sweet waterdrop, I miss you dearly. I pray for you each and every day and I will keep waiting for the day you open your eyes.
For you are the sweetest and most caring friend I have ever been blessed with.
Sending love,
Your “little one”

surana: romantic: alistair (specifically, august's (@/psychcwound), leliana, zevran, morrigan. platonic: other alistair muses [because these two are besties(tm) in my og worldstate], leliana, zevran, morrigan, jowan, wynne, sten, cullen (she's gonna dunk on him.... i understand if you don't wanna write them dlksjf)
hawke: romantic: varric........., merrill in aus. platonic: fenris, anders, isabela (the one who can match the menace energy alright), merrill, hawke twins.
lavellan: romantic: solas (it's. it's the drama alright. it got to me), josephine, blackwall, cassandra. platonic (the more romance focused characters apply here, too): COLE (from being afraid of the fade and its dwellers to befriending one. they are so important to me) iron bull, sera, leliana, dorian, varric (he calls her grumpy. as he should), vivienne, cullen.
zevran: romantic: ur warden 🫵 platonic: isabela (as in. friends who sometimes have fun together obv), the blight crew, other crow muses pspspsp.
Tumblr media
tav (lorelei): romantic: gale (her 'canon' romance), karlach, shadowheart, rolan (because i think they could be fucking HILARIOUS, though depends how old you hc rolan to be) platonic: astarion (exclusively platonic, they are Friends), wyll, jaheira, lae'zel, halsin (bc these two have zero romantic chemistry rip), gortash (i need them to have a 4dchessing nemesis dynamic soooo bad).
tav (ramona): romantic: lae'zel (their 'canon' romance), wyll, minthara. platonic: gale, shadowheart, karlach, halsin, minsc, jaheira, astarion. (i didnt play a lot of their run yet, but this is how i see it for now...)

The Son of the Sin of Greed.
When Blitzo peels back the curtains he finds the cowboy passed out: and stretched out and  tethered to a table his head was bowed. his cowboy hat was tilted to the side revealing little burn marks....  The Soothsayer Mamma Lorelei is startled and surprised to see Blitz in the flesh. “Dagon Tyren Malphas: the lost son of Mammon has come to what- claim this pitiful imp.  “What have you done!”  “Release him witch!” Blitzo growls pointing his flintlock at the soothsayer. “Oh child, put that thing away, you barely know how to use it”   “Striker!... Striker!...  “He isn’t dead child, Mamma Lorelei wouldn’t do that to you little prince”  “Mamma Lorelei knows all, sees all...”  “poor thing, you’ve been  cursed into the form of such a bottom dweller. I don’t know how you can stand it. l “Son of the sin of Greed,  the missing prince of the greed Ring. “young as you are... people have been searching for you-”  “their closing in... and soon you will have no place to run little one- and this, mini monstrosity won’t be able to protect you-  “Dagon I haven’t seen you since you were cut out of your mother’s womb and handed to that lowly wet nurse.

Note
as kids we all thought whirlpools were a lot more severe of a problem than they really are. lorelei is a sailor that knows a lot about whirlpools due to her obsession and visited the world's biggest one. needless to say she was dissapointed. lorelei decides to take a trip to the northern plains to learn a new boat building technique from the vikings. suddenly there is a whirlpool with a sea snake to scale. the diameter is approximately the size of iceland. whose fault could that possibly be
This calls for a pirate AU
- Odin is a land-dweller that believes in the power of farming not sailing
- Lorelei is an amazing pirate-esque figure
- Loki kinda shows up on her ship occasionally and leaves no one knows how??
- Thor ‘sneaks’ aboard when she’s docked on the island of Asgard by disguising himself as a maiden (because Lorelei’s ship is 99% female and the 1 percent is Loki sometimes) and thinks Lorelei doesn’t notice but she does and says he’s an exception because she can ‘use him as a hostage if she’s ever low on gold’
- Lorelei is always going on amazing pirate adventures but also complaining about how not adventurous it is
- Loki shows up male and female and Thor legit doesn’t recognise female Loki
- Loki gives Lorelei cryptic maps and prophetic verses that lead on her adventures that are too cool to pass on but also ridiculous because how did he find out about all these things
- At least 1 map leads to a kraken which she slays (thor helps)
- Prophecy leads her to Atlantis but it only resurfaces for a day each month (thor doesnt help because he’s totally afraid of water)
- Lorelei sees a whirlpool that actually isn’t disappointing and immediately wants to thank and curse loki because this is exactly the kind of adventure she wanted but also A SNAKE??? REALLY??? WHat dOES Loki dO in HIS free TIME??
- Odin wears an eye patch but its constantly switching sides and he refuses to admit or acknowledge it if its pointed out
- Frigga supports Thor sneaking off to go pirating with Lorelei because she was a pirate herself when she was younger and its fun
- Frigga has no idea Loki is also out pirating she just thinks he dresses pirate because of fashion
- Literally how Loki is getting places is never addressed
- Lorelei and Loki first meet when she ties him up and steals his map (haHA it leads to a island of evil monsters that only loki knows the way out of)
- They become friends as they get the treasure and escape that island and make a deal where they’ll help each other seek adventure (so loki can give her maps and she lets loki join their crew whenever)

As fresh starts go, this is a little more extreme.
You intended to stow away on a merchant vessel bound for the New World – instead, you ended up in the hold of a pirate galley. With no other option, you agree to join the crew of The Golden Harp as they search the seas for the lost riches of Lisboa.
Along the way, you must contend with deadly creatures, rival captains, and the threat of capture by the Royal Navy. And through it all, you get the distinct impression that your quarry is not at all what it seems…
Tumblr media
A fully customisable MC, from gender to appearance to personality.
Develop relationships with male, female, and non-binary characters.
Pursue ten possible romance routes (seven single routes and three poly routes)
Note: this game and blog will be strictly 18+ - you have been warned!
Tumblr media
Captain Lorcan Crowe (32, he/him) The Captain of The Golden Harp, Lorcan has sailed the seven seas and made his mark on the world. A household name in the Empire, parents use him to discipline wayward children. Those who meet him, though, would describe him as charming, an inveterate flirt, and someone who has an uncanny knack of knowing exactly how to get what he wants…
Quartermaster Robin Palgrave (33, they/them) Robin is a steadying influence, and Lorcan’s most trusted companion. In what little downtime they have, they have an artistic streak and a deep appreciation for the cultures that they are able to witness on their travels.
Sailing Master Gray Fairfax (25, they/them) Perfectly happy with their previous life as a member of the Royal Navy’s administrative corps, Gray was uprooted a year before the events of the story when Lorcan decided that the crew of The Golden Harp needed an expert navigator to aid them in their quest for the lost treasure. You get the distinct impression that they would rather be almost literally anywhere else.
Lorelei (age unknown, they/them) A creature often thought mythical by sceptical land-dwellers, their real name is unpronounceable for human tongues. Instead, they choose the name of one of their more famous kin, a siren of great renown among humans. They seem to already know you, though you have long forgotten them.
Lieutenant Anthony Meverell (31, he/him) Anthony Meverell is one of the fastest rising stars of the Royal Navy, already a Lieutenant in his early thirties. He has been tasked with ridding the seven seas of pirates - though he seems to have a personal interest in The Golden Harp...
Captain Grace O’Rourke (29, she/her) O’Rourke, self-styled “Queen of the West”, is a rival captain chasing the same treasure as The Golden Harp. She seems to already be known to the rest of your crew - though when they said “better the devil you know”, you’re not sure this is what they had in mind.
Captain Derya Sadak (27, gender customisable - he/him or she/her) A former corsair in the Ottoman Empire, a disagreement with their former employer caused them to strike out on their own as a renegade - since then, their aptitude and prior experience has led them and their ship, the Luscinia, to be feared throughout the Sea of Champa and the Mediterranean. And now, they have their sights set on the Atlantic, and their one remaining true rival - the Golden Harp.
An ancient presence (they/them) A voice in the darkness, calling out to you - though whether it is to entice you or warn you, you cannot yet tell...

lorelei lyons ( lili reinhart ) is a 23 year old ice skater who works as a pro skater & occasional teacher at the kingscrest ice rink. she’s from cambridge, ma and lives in west vale. they’re independent and determined but can also be stubborn and selfish.
quick facts
name: lorelei ophelia lyons (prefers to be called lore)
pronouns: she/her
birthday: august 23rd (virgo)
age: 23 years old
place of birth: cambridge, ma
sexual orientation: heterosexual
occupation: 99% of time is spent as a pro figure skater, but also a skating instructor for kids
fc: lili reinhart
full bio: here
lorelei lyons is america’s figure skating golden girl.
the daughter of the owner of a major media corporation and a social media influencer, she’s never had to work for anything except for her parents’ attention. but she does work hard at everything she does. unfortunately a’s only keep attention for so long, and as a child she quickly learned that the way to her father’s heart was through impressive athletic ability.
at age six her parents moved the family out to west vale specifically so they could be surrounded by the ice, and a major coach soon was bribed enough to join them. that coach didn’t last long, but lore has been on a strict training path ever since - no parties, no sweets, nothing that could possibly risk her future, and work every single day to ensure she’s the best.
after a rocky start to things after graduating from high school, she made it all the way to the olympics, receiving a silver medal and getting her father’s approval for maybe the first time. but silver is too close to the ultimate prize to give up now, and she’s working harder than ever, full-time, to be on the top podium come beijing 2022.
truly basic extras
she lives in her family’s large house in west vale. there are entirely too many statues of lions for her taste, and an entire wall full of crosses even though they aren’t religious, but lore doesn’t spend a ton of time in the common areas. though she has what feels like a whole story to herself (truly it’s like she has her own apartment), she is still absolutely financially dependent on her parents.
she’s a pro skater, but at 23 years old she knows she doesn’t have that much time left and she’s yet to actually win gold at the olympics (silver only rip). with a strict retirement age of 30 being pressed upon her by her coach and manager, she’s working extra hard to make her name known. she’s got a bunch of sponsorship deals lined up, some magazine covers in the works, and a book deal pending for a book she isn’t even allowed to personally write.
still, she doesn’t want to rely on her parents for the rest of her life. eventually she knows she’ll be taking over the family business, but a little part of her wishes she could just settle down in a nice house somewhere else and be like… a full-time kids skating teacher who also encourages kids to have a healthy mindset about skating on the side.
her life is pretty micro-managed by her team, but they have decided to allow her to teach kids how to skate now, so that goal isn’t too far off. they think it’s a nice pr opportunity, but obviously lore is genuinely interested in doing it. in small doses. she’s still at the point where she thinks children are exhausting.
for america’s figure skating golden girl, lore is pretty closed off. she learned a long time ago that with such a training intensive lifestyle, friends can be difficult to keep, and there’ve been one too many people who have used her for her status or money. so she’s aloof to some, but a complete open-book to her best friend(s).
expanding on the golden girl thing, she avoids drinking (occasional exceptions made in the presence of (1) person on the best friend level) and will never be seen partying/at a bar/at a club. she does everything she can to be seen as a good girl and if something is threatening to shift that image, she will do her absolute best to make sure that problem goes away. including bribery.
lore’s first boyfriend was her best friend (who turned out to be gay) and her first love was her skating partner (which ended disastrously). unlucky in love? yes.
morning person by force of habit. she’s always at the ice as early as she can be. nothing beats fresh ice, and she really doesn’t have anything else to do the rest of the day. once the olympics were on the table, college was off of it. she had been attending a distance program part-time, but dropped out to fully pursue her athletic career.
when she’s not at the rink, she’s at the dance studio. she’s been taking ballet and lyrical for several years, occasionally peppering in modern, contemporary, jazz, and even hip-hop classes.
wanted connections
childhood friends - either they’re still pals or they’ve drifted, they could have been forced together by their parents or found each other organically.
fellow skaters/rink dwellers - lore is always there and is guaranteed to know everyone else who spends a decent amount of time there. they might not be close, but she’ll know some basic facts.
neighbors (in west vale) - her family’s house once was pretty, and then her bad-taste mother moved in and decided they needed a fountain and lion statues at the end of their long driveway. neighbors are welcome to have strong or weak opinions on this.
rivals - lore is very competitive. this one sort of speaks for itself.
post-high school ex - unlucky in love part three! we love to see it. could’ve ended well, could’ve not. could’ve just been hookups, could’ve been a full relationship.
zamboni driver - lore sometimes pays the zamboni driver to get more ice time in the morning, prior to the rink opening. they also might know something they shouldn’t. optional! pls contact for details.
unlikely friend - maybe a hockey player, maybe just someone who has a personality very different from lore’s.
enemies/frenemies - lore’s picture-perfect facade is surely annoying for someone out there. she can know it or she can be ignorant to it but she can definitely be their major annoyance. also open to someone just being determined to break her/make her crack. always fun.

Sirens
Tumblr media
While the people of Icarus are no strangers to merfolk, most people will ever see of one are the sirens. At a distance, they appear to be normal humans, yet upon closer inspection, you’ll spot fins on their arms, legs, and ears, patches of brightly colored scales upon their shiny, almost dolphin-like skin, webbing between their fingers and toes, and a mouth full of sharp shark-like teeth. Their voices are melodic and, in some cases, almost hypnotic, and a few sirens have taken advantage of this, using their voice to get wherever they want to go, earning them a bit of a bad reputation. This reputation has unfortunately made many people distrustful of sirens, yet they are still ever more present in coastal towns and cities, no matter the prejudice against them.
Dwellers of Land and Sea
Sirens are one of the few types of merfolk able to live as well on land as they would in the sea, provided they have enough water. Because of this, they usually live within coastal towns and cities or along major rivers and in freshwater lakes, often having a secondary “siren-town” underwater nearby. This does keep sirens from living more inland if they choose, yet it is highly unlikely you’ll find sirens in a more arid landscape such as the desert. Even then, don’t be surprised if you run into a siren in the most unexpected of places, as there’s sure to be water nearby.
Eternal Outcasts
Thanks to prejudices against them, sirens often find themselves among the outcasts and undesirables of society. The kingdom of Atlantis finds no refuge for them either, as they have a long history of being harshly discriminated against in the undersea kingdom, including several attempts to genocide them out of existence. It is little wonder why they prefer the surface world, even if their treatment there is only marginally better. However, sirens do have one rock they can rest on in the surface world: tieflings. As outcasts themselves, tieflings will often find solace in the similarly outcast sirens, the two races building communities together and always relying on each other for a hand. While this is not a universal constant, sirens and tieflings share a bond stronger than iron.
Natural Bards
The siren's voice has long been (in)famous. Nearly every sailor worth their salt can tell you tells of beautiful maidens from the sea whose melodic voices have caused more than one ship to crash upon the rocks or sailor to jump overboard to their doom. These stories are not unfounded, as a siren’s voice is used to attract prey within the sea. This ability lends itself well to the bardic lifestyle as well, as not only do they have naturally good singing voices, but a siren’s echoic memory is able to recall almost every song they’ve ever heard word for word, beat for beat, and melody for melody, even if they’ve only heard it once. It’s no coincidence that many famous singers, bands, and bards have been sirens, despite prejudice they may face.
A Powerful Woman
Siren society is matriarchal, with the mother typically being the head of the family and her daughters inheriting the family name. While many would incorrectly assume that siren males are treated as lesser, they are never put at a disadvantage and enjoy largely the same respect siren females have. In fact, the sirens’ matriarchal leanings discourage many of the toxic behaviors found in more patriarchal societies. Sirens are taught to be respectful to all, regardless of gender, to respect other’s privacy and boundaries, and that the word “no” is final.
Siren Names
Unlike other merfolk, whose names are typically Atlantean words, Sirens will usually have names in Common. Their names will almost always have a water theme to them, usually being named after water creatures, sea gods, or famous sailors.
Siren Female Names: Lorelei, Calypso, Marina, Moana, Orisha, Ariel, Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, Andrina, Coral, Bayou, Hali, Isla, Kendra, Laguna, Nixie, Sedna, Waverly, Zarya, Taila, Serenna, Moora, Lucia, Taura, Camie, Thalassa, Apulia

And another homebrew, this time merpeople, cause why not? Not as long as the one for the warforged, but that’s kind of a given since there are no subraces for them. Also, since I couldn’t find a good picture of something close to what sirens look like without getting full-on fishtail merpeople, enjoy this stock photo of some lady snorkeling. XD

100+ Pagan or Witch names and their meanings
Tumblr media
Posted by Michelle Gruben on Apr 11, 2019
Looking for the perfect Pagan or witch name? Check out our list of over 100 magickal names drawn from the realms of the occult. Whether it’s for yourself, an animal familiar, or a fictional character, have fun perusing these delightfully witchy monikers.
Christian names have usually honoured Biblical figures and saints, but Pagans prefer to name themselves after nature, folklore, and the gods of antiquity. Many names are drawn from ancient stories and are charged with mythic power. Some of the names on this list didn’t start out magickal, but got that way in modern times through association with famous witches. (This is admittedly a Eurocentric list, since my own background is in classical literature and Western magick. If you are the bearer of a witchy name from another tradition, I’d love to learn about it!)
Many witch names are unisex and others can be adapted to any gender. Creating compound names are one way that Pagans pay homage to sacred objects, spirits, and concepts (e.g., Raven Moonflower or Amethyst Dragonfyre). Try mixing and matching these first names with your favourite nouns and adjectives to create your very own Craft name.

A gaze as dark and hypnotic as the sea was cast down, perplexed almost by the notion of being accused of such things. Lorelei wasn’t always a good person, she knew that, understood it even for the product that she was, a Siren to draw innocence to the dark depths of the ocean to capture their souls. In many ways, Sirens were demons of the ocean, but it hadn’t always been something Lorelei had understood, there was a part of her, the human side that would beg to be good, to be someone worthy of love. But she was too much like her mother and not enough like her father to give in, just yet, to the ways of humans, after struggling for so long with a heartlessness she didn’t want, Lorelei had given in to the call of her soul, of the ocean.
Many decades had passed and Lori had certainly lost track of them after the passing of her human family, turning to the only one she had left, the Siren side, although she was not as warmly welcomed by her mother, the woman found a part of herself that had been missing until then. Finding her connection and giving into the darkness which tainted her soul, much like her mother, too much like her mother, cold at times and hurtful, but also vulnerable, still clinging to the aspects that made her an OUTCAST among the ocean dwellers, something that would die last.
“Why would you think I could do such a thing?” Her tone was low, disbelief and a mild hint of hurt lacing it as well, her gaze moving to meet the other’s, searching, almost pleading before she shook her head and looked away. She was letting herself feel again, her mother would disapprove greatly, this wasn’t her purpose to the dark mistress of the mafia who Lorelei was employed by. Her hands moved of their own will, waving in the air before she moved away, crossing the empty dance floor of her club.
The place closed after the last call, late in the night and still needing work before she could leave, but the bar was her goal, she needed a drink. As she reached the counter which she lifted to give her access behind the bar, Lori didn’t bother to see if the other had followed her, the separation between them given by the bar and distance a relief in her feelings, giving her a chance to compose herself as she pulled a bottle of Tequila from her wide selection of alcohol and poured herself a generous shot.
